TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, WHICH MADE THE STEERING WHEEL VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WATSON QUALITY FORD (6130 I 55, JACKSON, MS) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ELECTRIC STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,700.*BF *JB
PURCHASE VEHICLE 2 21 2019 AND THE TWO ENGINE LIGHTS WARNING LIGHTS BREAKING DECELERATES WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAYS. SERVICE LIGHT TRACKING LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE VEHICLE DOES ALL THIS ON IT'S ON. I HAVE CONTACTED BY CHAT THE FORD CORPORATION ABOUT THIS SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I WAS TOLD THEIR WAS NO SERVICE BULLETIN SO THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE DANGEROUS MATTER THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAS VERY DANGEROUSAND THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON. ALSO WITH THE ENGINE LIGHTS STAYING ON ALL THE TIME THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2019 WHEN I STARTEDMY CAR I STARTED SMELLING A STRONG ORDER OF A NATURAL GAS SMELL COMING FROM MY CAR. IT GETS SO BAD THAT I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS AT TIMES. I CONTACTED FORD REGARDING THIS HOWEVER THEY SAID THATT SINCE ME CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY IT WILL BE BE COVERED AND THERE ARE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. IT'S A CONSTANT GAS SMELL WHETHER I'M DRIVING, IDLING, OR PARKED. THIS IS NOT SAFE.
COULD NOT FILL MY GAS TANK BECAUSE IT WAS BLOCKED BY SOME PIECE OF METAL. AT A GAS STATION. WENT TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC HAD TO USE 2 SCREWDRIVERS TO PUSH THE METAL OBSTACLE AWAY. I WAS THEN ABLE TO PUT GAS IN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT SPEAK WITH ANYONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
AT BEGINNING, VEHICLE FREQUENTLY SUDDENLY REDUCE THE SPEED WHILE DRIVING, THEN I EXPERIENCED THE DIFFICULTY TO START THE ENGINE IN THE MORNING. MISS FIRE OF THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED DURING BOTH IN DRIVING AND MORNING ENGINE START. THE VEHICLE ALSO ACCELERATE WHEN THE DRIVING SPEED AROUND 20 MPH IN CITY DRIVING, AND SUDDENLY REDUCING THE SPEED WHEN IT IS AROUND 80 MPH ON HIGHWAY. SO I DECIDED TO SEND IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR FINALLY I PARKED INSIDE OF THE GARAGE AND WAITING TO DELIVERY IT DIAGNOSTIC, BUT THE REPAIR SHOP COULD DETECT ANYTHING WRONG IN MECHANIC, THEREFORE THEY RECOMMEND NE SEND IT TO FORD DEALER FOR FURTHER TESTING. AFTER STORE THIS VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE FOR FEW DAYS, THE ENGINE CAN NOT START AT ALL. I HAD TO TOW IT TO FORD DEALER FOR FURTHER TESTING. THE ONLY ERROR FORD DEALER FOUND IS THE RE-INSTALLATION OF PCM SOFTWARE. WHICH FORD HAD A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE, THE RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED BY THE SAME FORD DEALER ON 11-15-2016. AFTER LAST WEEK RE-INSTALL THE PCM SOFTWARE BY FORD DEALER, I STILL EXPERIENCE THE UNEVEN SHAKING WHEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATE TO 4000 RPM (NOT DRIVING CONDITION), AS WELL AS THE DIVING SPEED CLOSE TO 80 MPH ON HIGHWAY. BUY FORD DEALER CLAIMS THESE SYMPTOMS ARE VERY NORMAL OF THE FORD EXPEDITION.
START CAR AND EPAS STEERING DOES NOT WORK. RESTART A COUPLE OF TIMES WAS ABLE TO DRIVE JUST ONCE. THE NEXT DAY EVEN RESTARTING THE CAR DID NOT WORK. I SEE THAT THEIR WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. I HOPE FORD FIXES THIS ISSUE UNDER THE RECALL.
I HAVE AN EXHAUST SMELL COMING FROM MY VENTS. THIS ODOR IS PRESENT IN THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS OF THE CAR. IT IS PRESENT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS STATIONARY. IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES AND CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOWER RATE, AND WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE SMELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE BLACK PLASTIC TRIM NEAR THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FRACTURED AND SCATTERED ACROSS THE HIGHWAY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY WAS IMPAIRED. THE CONTACT CHECKED THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE BEHIND HER SWERVE TO AVOID THE DEBRIS ON THE ROADWAY. KISSELBACK FORD (1118 13TH ST, ST CLOUD, FL 34769, (407) 892-5477) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INDICATED THAT THE PART MAY BE ORDERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RURAL ROAD WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. PULLED OVER, TURNED VEHICLE OFF. TURNED BACK ON. COMPLETE POWER STEERING FAILURE. APPEARS TO BE SAME ISSUE AS PREVIOUS RECALL.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OUT OF NO WHERE I HEARD A FLAPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE SAW A BLACK PIECE OF RUBBER IMMEDIATELY FLAPPING AROUND. I IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN AND WENT TO PULL OVER TO SEE WHAT IT WAS. THEN I HEARD A LOUD 'POP" AND SAW THIS BLACK THING FLY PASS ME. WHEN I GOT OUT I REALIZED THE BLACK PILLAR MOLDING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD HAD FLOWN OFF. SIMILARLY ENOUGH, MY ROOM MATE HAS THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE, ABOUT A WEEK AFTER MINE FLEW OFF, HER PASSENGER SIDE DID THE SAME THING, ONLY DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL ROADS (SLOWER SPEED). THIS PIECE IS ABOUT 2 FEET LONG, AS A PROJECTILE FILING OFF A VEHICLE IN MOTION IT VERY EASILY COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR HIT A PEDESTRIAN.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while reversing, the back over prevention image was showing on the opposite side of the screen, and the camera was flickering. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure could be linked to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V270000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN and the model vehicle were not included. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle for the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND IT STARTED SHAKING. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. SAMES FORD (4721 AYERS ST, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78415, (361) 851-7600) DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE WAS FAULTY AND PROVIDED THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SAVE THE RECEIPTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT IF A RECALL WAS ISSUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,900. *TT CONSUMER STATED CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON A BUSY ROAD. PROBLEM WAS FIXED.*JB
POWER STEERING FAULT. THE POWER STEERING JUST STOPPED WORK WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH NOW WARMING UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. I NEARLY CRASHED IT TO AN ON COMING CAR IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY GYM. I NOTICE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL BUT WHEN I DID A VIN SEARCH MY TRUCK WAS NOT REGISTERING A RECALL.
IN 2014 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. IT WAS NOT FIXED BECAUSE WHEN CHECKED MY CAR DID NOT SHOW ANY PROBLEM. NOW I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR DUE TO POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THEY CANNOT FIX MY CAR BASED ON WARRANTY BECAUSE IT PREVIOUSLY CHECKED OUT FINE. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND QUITE EXPENSIVE TO FIX. WHY CAN'T THE RECALL STILL APPLY TO MY CAR. MY CAR WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN IT HAPPENED SO THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT. BUT THE DANGER REMAINS IF I HAVE TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO GET IT FIXED.
OUR POWER STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY ON 12/17/2018. EXACT SYMPTOMS AS DESCRIBED IN FORMER RECALL 14V286000 - SOMEHOW FORD WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THIS RECALL TO AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH LAPSES AT 150,000 MILES. OUR VEHICLE FAILED AT 150,950 MILES - RENDERING IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. REPAIR COSTS OVER $2300. HOW THE NHTSA CAN ACCEPT SUCH AN AGREEMENT AS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN PLACE OF A BLANKET RECALL DEMONSTRATES THE POWER OF THE AUTO-MAKER LOBBY AT THE EXTREME DETRIMENT AND DANGER TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. FORD AND NHTSA SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
WHILE I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE A TURN AT A FOUR-WAY STOP, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST NOTIFICATION CAME ON AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I RAN UP ONTO THE SIDEWALK. HAD THERE BEEN ANY PEDESTRIANS, THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HIT.

THE WINDSHIELD PILLARS FLY OFF WHILE DRIVING, AN THE WHEATHER STRIPPING UNDER IT DOES NOT STAY, IT SLOWLY FLAPS OUT WHEN AT DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 50-70MPH. WHEN THE WHEATHER STRIP FLYS OFF IT CAUSES THE PILLARS TO BREAK MORE WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED AND THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING", TRACTION CONTROL, AND "SERVICE NOW" WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KEYSTONE FORD (301 WALKER ROAD, CHAMBERSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA 17201, (717) 264-5104) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER LOCATED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES U2011-49 AND C200B2F-2F. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT OWNERS EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 16436064. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V286000 (STEERING) ON MAY 29, 2014. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A MEMORANDUM ON JULY 1, 2015 IN REFERENCE TO THE RECALL, STATING THAT IT WAS SUBJECT TO A WARRANTY EXTENSION CONVERSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER REPLACED THE RECALL WITH A 150,000 MILE WARRANTY COVERAGE EXTENSION UNDER 15N01. THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES LOCATED EARLIER BY THE DEALER WERE CONSISTENT WITH THE WARRANTY COVERAGE; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE 150,000 MILE WARRANTY EXTENSION PROGRAM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE WHEEL GOT TUFF.
WINDSHIELD SIDE MOLDING BRAKING APART AND FLYING OFF DURING DRIVE.
MULTIPLE TIMES MY BRAKES HAVE HAD TO HAVE REPAIRS BECAUSE OF A FAILURE IN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM. TWICE WITHIN THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THE E-BRAKE LOCK UP, GET STUCK, OR FAIL IN A WAY THAT REQUIRED FULL REPLACEMENT OF MY ROTORS, PADS, BRAKE LINES, AND FLUID RESULTING IN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGES. AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE IN THIS, I STOPPED USING THE E-BRAKE, HOWEVER HAD THE PROBLEM REPEAT ITSELF ONLY A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE TIME EARLIER THIS YEAR WAS NOTICED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE PULSATING WHILE DRIVING, AND THE SECOND OCCURRENCE THIS YEAR WAS NOTICED WHEN THE FLUID WAS DRAINED AND A "LOW BRAKE FLUID" LIGHT CAME ON, AND WAS FURTHER EXAMINED AFTER FLUID DID NOT STAY IN THE SYSTEM FOR VERY LONG (MATTER OF AN HOUR OR TWO).
STEERING GEARS LOCK STEERING SYSTEM ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH WITH MY 11 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR.
The hinge of the hatchback has cracked. water enters into my car through the rear right hinge. The water then runs down my 3rd row right seat belt. Down into the storage area for the spare. Mold has started growing. this is a safety hazard. I have searched and seen multiple complaints of the same issue. I purchased this car in 2018. And noticed from day one of rain. I also noticed the previous owners have tried to remedy with some type of caulking or glue. The car had been inspected by my mechanic.
WHILE DRIVING AND GOING INTO TURN POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON CAUSING TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. WAS ABLE TO STOP AND HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.
2012 FORD EXPLORER XLT 4W. THE TERRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR WENT IMMEDIATELY INTO LIMP MODE ON A MAJOR ROAD.THERE WAS NO WARNING AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. TOOK TO DEALER OCT.1 AND THEY KEPT IT TWO DAYS. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A CODE. DEALER SAID IT IS FIXED BY UPDATING AND CALIBRATING THE ABS SYSTEM. IT WAS NOT FIXED. . OCT 13 SAME LIGHT WENT ON AND CAR IMMEDIATELY INTO LIMP MODE ON EXPRESSWAY. NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENT BECAUSE CAR IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN 5MPH IN LIMP MODE. YOU LOOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THROTTLE. THERE ARE 53+ CASES WITH THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET JUST THIS YEAR. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE SPEED OF THE CAR OR THE TRANSMISSION.. PLEASE GOOGLE (TERRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FAULT LIGHT) AND SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY MORE FORD CARS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE 3 YOUTUBES SHOWING THIS PROBLEM. WHEN TRYING TO MAKE AN UNPROTECTED LEFT TURN AT A STOP SIGN, I PRESSED THE GAS AND MY CAR DIDN'T MOVE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS ONCE IT DOD MOVE IT TOOK A FEW MORE SECONDS FOR IT TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY TO SAFELY MAKE MY TURN. THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC IN THE LANE I WAS CROSSING OVER FOR THE TURN HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY BECAUSE MY CAR DIDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION FAST ENOUGH. I WAS TOLD THAT MY TURBO BOOST WAS BAD. I HAVE A 2012 ECO BOOST MODEL AND IT WAS CLASSIFIED AS 'UNDER BOOST' WHICH WASN'T ALLOWING MY CAR TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY AND WOULD EVENTUALLY GIVE OUT COMPLETELY NOT ALLOWING ME TO ACCELERATE AT ALL.
WATER LEAKS FROM ROOF RACK AND CRACKS IN WELDING AROUND TAIL-GATE ROOF AND WELDING AROUND HINGES. WATER IS POOLING AND STANDING IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. WATER IS RUNNING DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE THIRD ROW SEAT BELT, DOWN THE SOUND PROOFING/ INSULATOR PAD OVER THE FRAME, WICKING ONTO THE SPARE TIRE COVER AND FLOOR COVER. AFTER INVESTIGATING THIS ON THE INTERNET, FOUND MANY OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND FORD DEALERS ARE NOT ADDRESSING IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TODAY WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY PROBLEM HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME, HAD SOME TROUBLE GETTING OUT OF HIGHWAY, I NEED TO MIVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN OFF VEHICLE FOR SOME TIME AND TURNED BACK ON TO RESTART THE ELECTRONICS.

The rear view camera shows the image as a mirror image. In example, items that are actually on the right side appear to be on the left side when viewing the camera. In addition, the camera often times just goes black and shows no image while in use.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,362. *TT *TR
AFTER PARKING MY VEHICLE IN MY DRIVE WAY (VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED) I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING FORWARDS DOWN MY SLOPPED DRIVEWAY. I ATTEMPTED TO CHASE THE VEHICLE HOPING TO JUMP IN AND APPLY THE BRAKE BUT WAS UNABLE TO. VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AFTER HITTING MY FENCE, BUSHES, AND A SMALL TREE. THERE WAS BODY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT RIGHT PORTION OF THE VEHICLE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, IT HAS BEEN ADDRESSED BEFORE BY THE DEALER BUT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. NOW THAT MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ISSUE THAT IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS CAR.
THE VEHICLE AT START UP HAS DISABLED POWER STEERING CAUSING THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO BE STEERED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A DRIVEWAY AND WAS ABOUT TO PLACE INTO DRIVE GEAR WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND COULD NO LONGER TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.
TOOK MY 2012 FORD EXPLORER IN TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED AND THE NEXT DAY THERE WAS AN "ODOR" COMING INTO THE CAB AS WELL AS OUTSIDE OF CABIN AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND WHEN I STOPPED AND GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE.

THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN TWICE ON 5/23/18 THE WRENCH ICON APPEARS AGAIN, LOST POWER, NO ACCELERATION, TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART..MADE AN APPOINTMENT BACK TO COGGINS FORD AND THEY CHECKED AND STILL THERE IS NO CODE TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY SUGGEST THAT IT MIGHT BE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IF I WANT TO REPLACE IT BUT NOT GUARANTEE. WITH MY APPROVAL I AM TAKING MY CHANCES TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE I AM SCARED I WILL BE IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF I WILL NOT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE SPEED OF 60 MILES PER HOUR AND SUDDENLY THE WRENCH ICON SHOWS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF MY STEERING WHEEL AND MY CAR SPEED IS SLOWING DOWN. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I STARTED MY CAR AND IT STARTS AND DROVE HOME WITH A LOW SPEED AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO COGGINS FORD IN JACKSONVILLE,FL.05/14/2018. I WILL FOLLOW UP ON THE RESULT.
THIS IS THE CONTINUATION OF MY 2012 FORD EXPLORER FOLLOW UP COMPLAINT ABOUT THE POWER TRAIN MALFUNCTION AND REDUCED POWER THAT HAPPEN ON 5/12/2018. AS I MENTIONED IN MY LAST COMPLAINT THAT I TOOK IT TO COGGINS FORD IN JACKSONVILLE ON 5/14/18 AND THEY CHECKED MY CAR AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THEY TEST DROVED AND CHECKED BUT NO CODES SO THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING AND HE ADVISED TO KEEP ON DRIVING UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND TO BRING IT BACK. NOW, I AM NERVOUS DRIVING THIS CAR, IT MIGHT PUT ME AND MY PASSENGERS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF SUDDENLY THIS HAPPEN AGAIN LOSS OF POWER AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING. THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY AND IT CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS, INJURY OR DEATH. I HOPE FORD WILL INVESTIGATE AND HAVE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT PRETENSIONER HAS FAILED CAUSING THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO COME ON. A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN HAS BEEN CREATED ON FORD'S END BLAMING THE CONNECT. SEE TSB 12-5-11. IT TELLS THE MECHANIC TO INJECT DIELECTRIC GREASE AS A FIX.
THE WIPERS WILL RANDOMLY TURN ON EVEN IF THE SWITCH IS OFF. I HAVE FOUND THAT I HAVE TO TURN THE WIPERS ON TO THE HIGHEST SETTING THEN IMMEDIATELY TURN THEM OFF YOU GET THE WIPERS TO STAY OFF. MY SECOND PROBLEM IS THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL TURN ON AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING. I CAN GO WEEKS OR MONTHS WITH OUT IT TURNING ON BUT I CAN ALSO GO WEEKS WITH IT STAYING ON 24/7. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FORD DEALER TO BE LOOKED AT AND THE ANSWER I GOT WAS 'WE ARE NOT SURE WHY IT'S DOING IT BUT JUST PUT A TOWEL ON THE DASH TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING HOT AND THAT SHOULD FIX IT MAYBE'. I HAVE FOUND THAT WHILE DRIVING IF MY WIFE TURNS AROUND TO GET/GIVE SOMETHING TO OUR CHILD THE LIGHT WILL TURN ON WHEN SHE FULLY SITS BACK DOWN.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER TAKING TO FORD DEALERSHIP, FOUND OUT THAT ECOBOOST TURBO HAD BLOWN AND SEIZED UP.
SYNC SYSTEM DIED- NO SCREEN/NO USB POWER/NO NAVIGATION/NO HEAT/COOL CONTROL/NO RADIO/NO HAND-FREE PHONE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY- UNABLE TO RESTART OR REBOOT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BARBER FORD (640 E 8TH ST. HOLLAND, MICHIGAN 49423) ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO HAVE THE VOLUNTARY FORD EXHAUST CAMPAIGN COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE HE WAS EXPERIENCING WAS NOT PART OF THE VOLUNTARY FORD EXHAUST CAMPAIGN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE NOT PROVIDED.
DRIVERS SIDE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE, SPRING SPRUNG, AND DOOR HANDLE IS ALMOST ALL THE WAY OPEN. JUST BY TOUCHING IT, THE DOOR OPENS. WITH THIS BEING A FRONT DOOR, THE LOCK WONT ALLOW IT NOT TO OPEN. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM, BUT THEY SAY MY VEHICLE ISN'T COVERED. THEY SAID THE VIN NUMBER ISN'T PART OF THIS RECALL, YET IT IS THE SAME ISSUE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR. THE RECALL NUMBER IS15S11.
SUDDEN GRINDING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. SUSPECT IT IS RELATED TO A PREMATURELY FAILING STEERING GEAR BOX. OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
