For a few weeks, I thought I had developed an air bubble in my power steering system, as occasionally, steering would have a very slight resistance that I could pull through with minimal effort. I went to check my power steering fluid and upon inspection and research, discovered that my vehicle (a Police Intercepter Utility, equal to a base model Explorer) has electric power steering, not hydraulic. I figured the issue was just a minor quirk of the electrical power steering motor kicking in. A few days ago, my power steering failed completely failed while driving at about 35mph. Only once did the dashboard light up with a warning about servicing advanced stabili-trac and something else closely related. The alert lights went out on their own after about 5 seconds and steering returned to normal. Later the same day, steering became very difficult again with no alert lights and it has remained very difficult to steer the vehicle at any speed since then, identical to the failure of a hydraulic power steering pump. I have not yet talked with Ford or any mechanics about the issue, but I plan to do so swiftly. Upon research, there are at least 280 identical complaints about identical make, model, and year vehicles. It may be time for a formal recall on the affected parts.
My backup camera does not always work. Just get a black screen
The reverse backup camera gives a mirror view so the left side of the car appears on the right side of the screen. Making it unsafe to backup because you turn the wrong way if you go by what the camera shows you.

The PILLAR APPLIQUE TRIM has came off on BOTH sides of my windshield. I was driving down the highway and the trim came 90% off. I swerved wondering what was going on, almost wrecked and had to slow down to exit. I had tape in the car and had to tape it down. I have always maintained the vehicle and drive the vehicle well. The car just started stuttering when driving and the torque converter for the transmission failed. It doesn’t even have many miles. I’m sure this is a common complaint that needs addressed and recalled because there wasn’t anything done to contribute to this problem. It has been parked since this first occurred in 2024.

The exterior right-side A-pillar panel departed the vehicle unexpectedly while driving at highway speeds (~70 mph). No early warning signs or indications were present. The incident occurred on the highway at night. When the panel departed, it made a loud noise like something hit the windshield. The driver and passengers were unaware that the panel was no longer attached to the vehicle until exiting the highway and inspecting the vehicle. The panel was not found on the highway after the incident and very well could have hit another vehicle, person, or animal and caused an accident. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. The Ford Motor Company has an active recall for this issue and has indicated that they will not replace the panel until a remedy is identified later this year (2024). With the panel missing, there are broken pieces of plastic still loosely attached to the A-pillar and make a vibrating noise when driving at highway speeds.
