I RECENTLY RECEIVED A 2016 FORD POLICE UTILITY (EXPLORER) AS A NEW PATROL VEHICLE. WHILE ON PATROL I SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. I RECEIVED A STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE ON THE DASH, AS WELL AS A TRACTION AND STABILITY CONTROL ERROR MESSAGE. THE VEHICLE HAS 935 MILES ON IT. I HAVE READ WHERE FORD HAS HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST WITH THIS STEERING SYSTEM. AS A POLICE OFFICER I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITH NO WARNING COULD RESULT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR OFFICERS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, AS WELL AS CIVILIANS DRIVING THE CIVILIAN MODEL. AS OF THIS COMPLAINT THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING TO BE FIXED. FORD NEEDS TO GET THIS SYSTEM WORKING CORRECTLY.
THE 2016 MODEL ALSO HAS THE ODOR FROM THE VENTILATION WHICH IS INVESTIGATED NOW. THE ODOR OCCURS DURING DRIVING AT REGULAR METHODS AFTER THE ENGINE CAN HEAT UP FOR A FEW MILES. THIS "NEW CAR" SMELL WAS CALLED REGULAR HEATING OF NEW PARTS BY THE SALESMAN BUT NOW IT HAS BEEN 3000 MILES AND HE ODOR IS STILL HAPPENING. I JUST WANT THE 2016 TO BE CHECKED OUT FOR EMISSION TROUBLES TO MAINTAIN A SAFE RIDE FOR FAMILY MEMBERS.
CABIN FILLS WITH CARBON MONOXIDE DURING UPHILL GRADE THROUGH AC UNIT. OR ENGINE UNDER LOAD. 3000-4000 RPM CREATES SULFUR ROTTEN EGG SMELL IN CABIN. FORD IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND.
SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 16 IT HAS BEEN BACK FOR SERVICE NURMOUS TIMES, STARTING 2 DAYS AFTER DELIVERY! MAJOR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN COOLENT LOSS AND BURNING COOLANT SMELL FOLLOWING WITH A OIL LEAK AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE 10 MILES ON IT SHOULDN'T HAVE THESE ISSUES SO I DEMANDED A DIFFERENT VEHICLE, WAS REFUSED DUE TO DEMOGRAPHICS! WELL THE DEALER BRUSHES EVERYTHING OFF AS ALL DO SAY IT'S NORMAL IT HAPPENS, AS TIME PASSES IT GOES BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SAME ISSUE THEY REPLACED A OIL SEAL AGAIN AND COOLANT LOSS AND SMELL IS NORMAL TO THEM, THEY CAN'T FIND ANY ISSUES, I TELL THEM IT'S AFTER LONG DRIVES WELL EACH TIME THEY HAVE IT OVER A WEEK. TO BOOT THEY IGNORE MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE ROTTEN EGG SMELL I GET ON ACCELERATION! THEY TELL ME IT'S PROBABLY THE GAS I'M USING, MIND YOU THIS IS VERBAL AFTER THE FACT, THEY DID NOT WANT TO PUT IT ON THE WORK ORDER. THEY ORDERED A NEW STEERING WHEEL DUE TO IT PEELING. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT TECHNICALLY I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAGNOSIS IF THEY DO NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND THAT I HAD TO COVER THE TECHS TIME, WELL I HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK IN AGAIN FOR NO COOLANT IN THE OVERFLOW FOUL SMELL COMING FROM THE VENTS AND EXAUST SMELL IN THE CABIN. THE VEHICLE HAS 14900 MI SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS ESPICALY COSTING WHAT IT DID
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD AN ABNORMAL CARBON MONOXIDE ODOR WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND JUST BURNING OFF OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT'S MOTHER ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED THE SEAT BUTTON AND IT CAUSED THE SEAT TO COLLAPSE, SNAP DOWN, AND FLIP TO THE OTHER SIDE. THE CONTACT'S MOTHER BECAME CAUGHT IN THE SEAT AND SUSTAINED BRUISES. THE CONTACT'S YOUNG CHILD ALSO BECAME CAUGHT IN THE SEAT AND HAD TO BE PULLED OUT. THE DEALER WAS AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18.
RADIATOR COOLING FAN SQUEALS LOUDLY WHEN CAR IS IDLE OR DRIVING SLOWLY. CAR HAS ALREADY BEEN IN THE SHOP TO REPLACE THE FAN ONCE. NEW FAN BEGAN SQUEALING AGAIN WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING AFTER REPAIR. CAR ONLY HAS 4000 MILES ON IT. HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS OF FAULTY COOLING FAN BEARINGS. AFRAID FAN WILL STOP WORKING AND CAUSE FIRE OR OVERHEATING.
WHILE MAKING A TURN ON A LOCAL STREET POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAITED A MINUTE AND RESTARTED NO FURTHER ISSUES. I HAVE OWNED MANY EXPLORERS INCLUDING 11-13 AND NOW 16. THE 16 HAS 12K MILES ON IT.
EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN WHILE HITTING RPM OF 3200. FUMES ENTER WHILE CARGO VENT IS ON. YOU WILL ALSO SMELL THE FUMES WORSE WITH WINDOWS DOWN. HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND UNDER ACCELRATION. BEEN TO 3 DEALERS AND HAVE ALSO CONTACTED FORD CORPORATE.
VEHICLE LEAKS CARBON MONOXIDE AT TOXIC LEVELS INTO PASSENGER CABIN. I PURCHASED A DIGITAL CO METER AND PRODUCED VIDEO AND PICS OF TOXIC LEVELS. DEALER STILL HAD NO ANSWER AND FORD HAS TURNED DOWN BUY BACK REQUEST. OWNER OF DEALERSHIP PLEADED WITH FORD TO SAVE THEIR CUSTOMER AND WAS TURNED DOWN AGAIN. FORD REP AT DEALER CONSPIRED WITH MANAGERS TO TURN ME AWAY BECAUSE I LEASED A VOLVO XC90. WIFE AND KIDS REFUSE TO SIT IN A GAS CHAMBER. THE EXPLORER IS PARKED WHILE I DETERMINE WHETHER TO FILE SUIT. THINKING OF HIRING AN INDEPENDENT TEST LAB TO DRIVE AND DOCUMENT CO LEAK.
I HAVE A 2016 FORD EXPLORER ,WHEN I EXCEED 3000 RPM THERE WILL BE STRONG EXHAUST SMELL COMING THROUGH THE A/C VENTILATION SYSTEM,I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES THEY DIDN'T FIX IT,I HAVE FOUR KIDS AGES 5 MONTHS TO 12 YEARS.

EXHAUST SMELL IN THE INTERIOR COMING OUT OF THE HVAC VENTS DURING SUSTAINED ACCELERATION SUCH AS GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. HAS BEEN TO FORD AND HAD RELATED TSB PERFORMED AS WELL AS THE EXHAUST CHANGED WITH NO CHANGE IN THE PROBLEM.

WIFE WAS DRIVING CAR & STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT , CALLED ME & SAID CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE & SMELLED BURNING , UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND COOLING FAN MOTOR & FAN SHROUD CAUGHT ON FIRE

PAINT STARTS TO BULDGE AND FLAKES. STRONG SMELL OF CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING.
MY 2016 FORD EXPLORER IS MAKING A HIGH PITCH SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING CUT OFF. THE SOUND HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS A BAD COOLING FAN BEARING. I'M NOT SURE OF THE EXTENT BUT THIS CANNOT BE A GOOD THING IF THE BEARING IS BAD FOR THE COOLING FAN. A BAD BEARING COULD LEAD TO OTHER ISSUES IF IT IS ALREADY BAD AND THE CAR IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE (6) TIMES FOR JUST THE FAN ITSELF. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIX IT AND ENLISTED THE ASSISTANCE OF THE MANUFACTURERS TECH LINE AND STILL NO RESOLUTION. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AND I HAD TO INVOLVE THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU'S AUTOLINE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS VIOLATED MY STATES LEMON LAW. I WANTED TO MAKE SURE TO REPORT THIS ISSUE SO THAT SOMETHING CAN BE DONE. THIS IS DEFINENTLY A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE FAN AND I HAVE HAD 3 FANS IN MY VEHICLE AND EACH ONE HAS THE DEFECT. THE FIRST DATE I REPORTED THIS ISSUE WAS ON 01/07/2016.

STRONG EXHAUST ODOR IN CABIN WHEN ACCELERATING HARD.
PURCHASED 2016 FORD EXPLORER NEW. HAS 4567 MILES ON IT. STARTING NOTICING A POPPING SOUND UNDER FOOT FLOOR BOARD DRIVER SIDE WHENEVER I FIRST START THE VEHICLE AND MOVE FORWARD TO ABOUT 7 MILES PER HOUR ABOUT TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. NOISE DOES NOT HAPPEN ANYTIME AFTER THE FIRST POP WHILE DRIVING, ONLY WHEN YOU FIRST START THE VEHICLE AND MOVE FORWARD AT ABOUT 7 MPH. TOOK TO FORD DEALER TO HAVE THE NOISE CHECKED OUT THEY ADJUSTED THE FRONT BRIDGE LINK BOLT AS PER TSB 15-0186 AND SAID THE NOISE WAS GONE. I WENT TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND AS SOON AS I MOVED FORWARD AT ABOUT 7MPH THE POPPING NOISE CAME BACK. TALKED TO SERVICE WRITER AND HE TALKED TO SOMEONE ELSE AND THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL NOISE AND ALL 2106 EXPLORERS DID THIS. THEY GOT ANOTHER 2016 EXPLORER LIKE MINE FROM THE LOT AND SURE ENOUGH IT MADE THE SAME POPPING NOISE RIGHT AROUND 7 MPH. I GUESS FORD DOES NOT BUILD QUALITY PRODUCTS LIKE ADVERTISED. HARD TO BELIEVE A $35,000.00 VEHICLE WOULD MAKE POPPING NOISES WHEN NEW. MY ADVICE IS "DO NOT" BUT ANY FORD PRODUCTS ESPECIALLY THE EXPLORER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT LATCH FRACTURED. AS A RESULT THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO BUCKLE THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,208.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000.
ON MY 2016 EXPLORER LIMITED 3.5 N/A V6 - UNDER HARD (GETTING ON FWY) OR EXTENDED ACCELERATION (UPHILL CLIMB) EXHAUST FUMES CAN BE NOTICED BY THE PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. I KNOW THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION ON THE 11-15 YEARS BUT THE 16 SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS WELL. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE FROM NEW TO CURRENT 11K MILES. THIS HAPPENED ON MY PREVIOUS 2013 MODEL AS WELL.
MY WIFE WT. IS APPROX 155LBS THE DRIVE SEAT HAS BEEN FRAYING SINCE THE FIRST MONTH WE PICKED UP THE CAR ON OCT 22. 2015 AND HAS BEEN GETTING WORST NOTHING HAS TORN IT. JUST THE FABRIC HAS BEEN FRAYING , WE WOULD LIKE A KNEW SEAT ?
WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF MY RENTAL (THE VEHICLE RUNNING AND IN PARK), I PRESSED #2 OF THE NUMBERED BUTTONS, NEXT TO THE LOCK CONTROLS, AND THE SEAT STARTED MOVING BY ITSELF. THE SEAT MOVED UP AND FORWARD, WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL MOVED DOWN. MY LEGS STARTED TO GET COMPRESSED BY THE STEERING WHEEL, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME MY KNEES WERE BEING FORCED INTO THE PLASTIC PIECES UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN. MY BODY WAS BEING FORCED AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. I TRIED TO STOP THE SEAT FROM MOVING BY USING MY BODY TO CREATE A FORCE BUT THE SEAT WOULD NOT STOP. WHEN THE SEAT FINALLY STOPPED, MY LEGS WERE IN PAIN AND I COULD BARELY BREATHE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL BEING AGAINST MY CHEST. I PANICKED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. MY HUSBAND HAD TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND USE THE CONTROLS TO GET ME FREE. I WAS AFRAID FOR MY LIFE, I COULD'VE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED. IF MY HUSBAND WERE THE ONE TO PRESS THE BUTTON WHILE HE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT, HE WOULD HAVE BROKEN BONES. MY RENTAL PROVIDER NEVER SHOWED US THE FEATURES OF THE VEHICLE, NOR WERE THERE ANY WRITTEN WARNING LABELS IN CLEAR SIGHT ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND INFORMED ME AFTER THE INCIDENT THAT THE NUMBERED BUTTONS ON THE DOOR ARE A MEMORY FUNCTION FOR THE SEAT. IT IS NOW A STRONG FEAR OF MINE THAT IF I WERE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, AND I ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THIS BUTTON (THINKING I PRESSED THE LOCK CONTROL),THAT I WOULD BE IN A CAR ACCIDENT. THE DESIGN OF THIS MEMORY FUNCTION IS FLAWED AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED. I AM ALSO FEARFUL THAT THE RENTAL COMPANY WILL RENT THIS VEHICLE TO SOMEONE ELSE, BECAUSE A LARGER PERSON THAN MYSELF, WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE INJURED OR KILLED. WHETHER THIS IS A FACTORY PRESET OR A FUNCTION THAT HAD BEEN PROGRAMMED BY A PREVIOUS RENTER OR THE RENTAL COMPANY, I AM UNAWARE, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
I PURCHASED MY NEW CAR DURING OCTOBER 2015 FROM DEALER IN VA. AFTER SOME TIME, DRIVING THE CAR NOTICED AN ODOR LIKE ROTTEN EGG COMES AND GOES. HOWEVER, I THOUGHT, IT COULD BE DUE TO THE NEW CAR. LATER TIME, I NOTICED EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR, I FEEL TIRED, HAVING HEADACHES, LACK OF ENERGY, AND FALLING SLEEP. I CONSULTED WITH MY DOCTORS AND THEY REALLY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. UNTIL RECENTLY, WATCHING CHANEL 4 NEWS AND THEY WERE REPORTING THE PROBLEM WITH EXPLORER EXHAUST SYSTEM AND POSSIBLE CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK INTO INTERIOR OF THE CAR. PLEASE ADVISE IF THIS ISSUE IS ACCURATE AND WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO FIX IT. THANKS
WE HAVE NOTICED A FOUL SMELL IN OUR FORD EX SINCE WE PURCHASED IT WITH NO EXPLANATION REGARDING THE CAUSE. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS RELATED TO THE CARBON MONOXIDE ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD REGARDING THIS PROBLEM THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE OR ANY RESOLUTION REGARDING FIXING THE PROBLEM.

SMELL EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE CABIN OF VEHICLE. EXPOSURE TO CARBON MONOXIDE CONCERN. HAPPENS DURING FULL ACCELERATION AND DRIVING UPHILL AND WITH A/C UNIT ON.NOTICED UPON LEASE RECEPTION. FORD REPLACED EXHAUST SYSTEM BUT NOT HELPED, ACTUALLY NOW WORSE. ONGOING ISSUE UNRESOLVED.
WHEN ACCELERATING OVER 3500 RPM SMOKE GASES COME INSIDE THE CABIN IT STARTED WHEN I ACQUIRED THE VEHICLE AND HASN'T STOPPED EVER SINCE

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY AND ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TOO HARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
MY VEHICLE EMITS EXHAUST IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. UPON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION, THE EXHAUST SMELL IS SO POTENT, ME AND MY PASSENGERS HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE THE DAY AFTER PURCHASING TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND HAVE RETURNED IT FOR REPAIRS MANY TIMES SINCE. THEY HAVE SEALED ALL OPENINGS UNDER THE VEHICLE, REPLACED THE EXHAUST SYSTEM, AND REPLACED THE VENTS IN THE BUMPER. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY EXPLORER, HOWEVER, THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX IT. MY LAST REPAIR VISIT IN JUNE 2016, I WAS NOTIFIED THAT I NEED TO COME PICK UP MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY COULD DO NOTHING ELSE FOR IT. THEY HAVE TRIED TO REPAIR IT AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. THIS HAS CAUSED VARIOUS HEALTH ISSUES FOR ME, WHICH INCLUDE, HEADACHES AND NAUSEA. FORD HAS IGNORED ALL OF MY REQUEST TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED I AM BEING POISONED BY EXHAUST.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT SMELLED AN EXHAUST ODOR THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOMBALL FORD (22702 TOMBALL PKWY, TOMBALL, TX 77375 (877) 359-7182) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE INNER PANEL ABOVE THE DOOR PANEL HAD A GAP AND NEEDED TO BE ALIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO TOMBALL FORD, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT BECAME DISORIENTED BUT WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CABIN AIR FILTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO TESTED THE VEHICLE FOR CARBON MONOXIDE AND DETERMINED THAT THE SPOILER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE AUTO DRAIN, GRILL ASSEMBLY, VENT AIR OTTER ADHESIVE, VALVE ASSEMBLY- AUTO DRAIN, INSULATOR, AND DOOR OTTER WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MORE REPAIRS NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BUY BACK THE VEHICLE, BUT WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS OFTEN AS NEEDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,663.
SEPT 31ST - WITH 358 MILES AND LESS THAN OWNED FOR 24 HOURS ALL ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT FAILED, FLASHING ABS FAILURE LOSS OF SPEED CONTROL. OCT 1ST CAR TAKEN TO JCLEWIS FORD IN SAVANAH,GA, WAS CALLED BY THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS LATER AND WAS TOLD TO PICK THE CAR AND THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS TO REALIGN AND RESET COMPUTER SOFTWARE. I TOOK THE CAR AND DROVE 39 MILES AND WE SUSTAINED A TOTAL REPEAT OF THE PROBLEMS. AT THIS POINT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA AT POINT WHAT WAS WRONG OR THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, APPROXIMATELY FIVE DAYS LATER I WAS TOLD THE CAUSE WAS THE FAILURE OF THE REAR ABS WHEEL SENSOR WHICH THEY TOLD ME WAS REPLACED AND ALSO THAT THEY HAD DRIVEN THE CAR FOR FEW DAYS AND IT WAS NOW OPERATIONAL. I DID PICK UP THE CAR AND AGAIN WITHIN A FEW MILES WE SUSTAINED THE SAME FAILURE WITH AN ADDED FEATURE I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE AND FOUND THAT I HAD LOST ANY ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD AND THERE WAS A SEVERE GRINDING NOISE EMANATING FROM TRANSMISSION, DROVE THE BACK TO DEALER SHIP FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD THAT THE FORD DEALER MECHANIC DID NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS AS I WAS TOLD. AS OF TODAY SEPT 18TH THE CAR IS STILL WITH THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IN FACT REPLACED THE LEFT ABS WHEEL SENSOR BUT THEY SAID THAT IN FACT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT STILL EXISTED. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE THINK IT IS BEING CAUSED BY SOME TYPE OF SHORT IN A WIRE HARNESS BUT THEY STILL ARE AWAITING PARTS. I HAVE REQUESTED A MEETING WITH A FORD REPRESENTATIVE BUT I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT HE COULD NOT ARRANGE A MEETING. I WAS TOLD BY A FORD REPRESENTATIVE I BELIEVE DETROIT THAT I SHOULD LOOK AT THE BACK OF THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR ADVICE ON THE LEMON LAW.

PURCHASED A NEW 2016 FORD EXPLORER XLT IN AUGUST 2015. WHEN VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP WE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE MIDDLE ROW SEAT MATERIAL WAS PULLED AWAY FROM THE FOAM CUSHION. THE SELLING DEALER SAID THEY WOULD PUT A WARRANTY CLAIM INTO FORD TO GET THE SEAT FIXED. WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM DEALER A FEW WEEKS LATER AND SAID FORD WOULD FIX THE SEAT AND TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER CLOSER TO OUR AREA TO HAVE IT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE WARRANTY PERSON THERE WOULD NOT EVEN COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT SINCE WE DID NOT BUY IT THERE. I CALLED THE FORD CS LINE AND MADE A COMPLAINT. THEY CALLED THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT THE SEAT. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THEM AND THEY TOOK PICTURES AND SENT TO FORD FOR WARRANTY APPROVAL. WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM CS AND THEY SAID THE PICTURES DID NOT SHOW ANY DAMAGE AND NO REPAIRS WOULD BE MADE. I ASKED THE CS PERSON IF I COULD SEND MY PICTURES OF THE SEAT AND THEY SAID OK. I SENT PICTURES OF THE SEAT DAMAGE AND FORD WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH ME AND EVEN GOT A WARRANTY REP INVOLVED. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE SEAT CUSHION IS PULLED AWAY FROM THE FOAM AND IT IS DAMAGED, FORD DID GET BACK WITH ME AND SAID IT IS NOT DAMAGED AND THEY WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT BUYING A FORD PRODUCT ESPECIALLY AN EXPLORER IS NOT TO. APPARENTLY QUALITY CONTROL IS NOT ONE OF THEIR MAIN POINTS. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 3550 MILES ON IT AND ALREADY THE RADIO HAS QUIT WORKING AND THE FRONT END MAKES A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN I TAKE OFF. WONDER IF THAT WILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

CONCERNED ABOUT OUR HEALTH, WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT FORD WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAD 3,000 MILES ON IT. RESEARCHED 'EXHAUST FUMES IN FORD EXPLORERS' AND DISCOVERED THAT 'FORD NAMED IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OVER LEAK OF CARBON MONOXIDE IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENTS OF EXPLORER VEHICLES', ANGELA SANCHEZ-KNUTSON VS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THE LAWSUIT INCLUDES 2011-15 FORD EXPLORERS. THEN WENT TO THE MANAGEMENT WITH THIS INFORMATION, WAS TOLD THAT ONLY 'SOME' EXPLORERS WERE AFFECTED SO WE ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE EXPLORER WITH ONE THAT 'DID NOT' HAVE THE EXHAUST FUMES PROBLEM. WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TITLED. DEMANDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE REPAIRED BUT AFTER 6 ATTEMPTS OF WHICH 2 WERE WITH THE FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER, WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE IS "NO FIX". GOOD LUCK TO US. AFTER 6TH ATTEMPT, THE FUMES ARE WORSE THAN EVER.

THE AUTONATION DEALERSHIP IN TUSTIN, CA CONTINUES TO TELL ME THIS IS CORRECT! THIS IS INSANITY AND UNSAFE. SO I'VE POSED THE SCENARIO, IF WE'RE IN A CRASH AND THE DRIVER BECOMES UNCONSCIOUS AND THE VEHICLE IS ON FIRE, YOU MEAN THE DRIVER HAS TO 'BECOME' CONSCIOUS IN ORDER TO OPEN ALL THE DOORS FOR EVERYONE TO ESCAPE?? YES, THAT IS THE ANSWER. THEY HAVE NO OTHER ANSWERS FOR ME TO EITHER UN-PROGRAM SOMETHING THAT IT INCORRECTLY PROGRAMMED OR EVEN ANY ADMISSION OR SUGGESTIONS THAT THIS DOESN'T SOUND CORRECT. DRIVING A DEMENTIA PATIENT AND HER CAREGIVER HAS EXACERBATED THIS MATTER - THE CAREGIVER IS THE ONE EXPERIENCING THE PANIC OF NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT WHILE NEEDING TO HELP THE DEMENTIA PATIENT - PREVIOUSLY, CHILDREN RIDING IN THE BACK WOULD NOT BE AWARE OF THE DANGER OF THIS MATTER OR THE URGENCY TO GET OUT OR THE FACT THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS SOMETHING ABSOLUTELY OVERLOOKED BY FORD.
