Recall has been issued on the ford explorer for smell of exhaust in the cabin. I have had the recall inspected and completed in 2019. I am now smelling the exhaust again upon acceleration. I told the dealership I have always been able to smell the exhaust even after they "fixed" the issue the first time. It just wasn't as bad. The smell is much worse now.
THE WATER PUMP LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE OIL AND WILL COST OVER $3,000.00 TO FIX. THE FORD EXROPLER ENGINE DESIGN WITH THE WATER PUMP IN THE ENGINE IS A CASH TRAP FOR CONSUMERS. THE DESIGN IS HORRIBLE.
*VEHICLE MAKES POPPING NOISE *JERKS, LOSS OF POWER WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD, HARD TO STEER, PUSH ON GAS AND WILL NOT GO. ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH COME ON. CALLED DEALER WHEN FIRST HAPPENED WAS TOLD TO TURN OFF BACK ON TO RESET. HAVE WORKED WITH DEALER AND MANUFACTURE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THIS WILL BE AT LEAST THE FOURTH TIME BACK IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS. IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL CALLS.
REAR WINDOW GLASS SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED WHILE SITTING AT STOP LIGHT. DEFROSTER WAS OFF, OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 38 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. NO KNOWN REASON. GOOGLE SHOWS THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER 2017 FORD EXPLORERS, BUT WHEN I CALLED FORD, THEY DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM.
THE TRIM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD FLEW OFF ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY, IT CRASH INTO IN THE SHOULDER AND CRUMBLED INTO A MILLION PIECES. THE DRIVERS SIDE TRIM ALSO APPEARS TO BE LOOSE. IT WASN'T PARTICULARLY WINDY THIS DAY AND I WAS TRAVELLING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS (70-75MPH).
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle without warning. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the front passenger pillar trim had detached from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where the pillar trim was replaced; however, a year later, the same pillar trim detached from the vehicle a second time. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was given an estimate for a second repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle; the contact was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
THE ADHESIVE HOLDING ON THE PANEL COVERING ON THE DRIVER DOOR FAILED. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY THE PANEL PRIED LOOSE AND FLAPPED AGAINST THE CAR, CRACKING AND SENDING A CHUNK OF THE PLASTIC COVERING BEHIND INTO TRAFFIC. THIS COULD HAVE HIT A MOTORCYCLIST OR OTHER VEHICLE AND BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. I KNOW THIS CAR HAS ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE ADHESIVE FAILING ON THE ROOF COVERINGS. THIS FAILURE SHOULD ALSO BE FIXED. THE CAR IS A 2017 SO NOT THAT OLD.
THE TRIM MOLDING IS COMING OFF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AT THE TOP ABOVE THE ELECTRONIC KEYLESS ENTRY TOUCH PAD. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT MAKE A NOISE THAT I CAN HEAR AS I AM DRIVING. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL BREAK OFF AND FLY LOOSE IMPACTING ANOTHER VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V316000 (Structure). The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had the recall repair completed. The contact stated a month later, while driving at an unknown speed, she started to hear a flapping noise from the roof rack. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the roof rack clips, push pins, and cap to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,128.
DEALER SERVICED MY ROOF RACK 12 DIFFERENT TIME BECAUSE THE COVER WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET LONG HAS BECOME LOOSE 12 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE WAS THE COMPLETE COVER BLEW OFF THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLES TRAILING ME TOOK EVASIVE MANEUVERS TO AVOID BEING STRUCK BY THE ROOF RACK COVER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY ORDERED NEW PARTS AGAIN WHICH ARE UNDER RECALL BY FORD. THE ISSUE NOW IS I'M DRIVING THE VEHICLE THAT CURRENTLY HAS A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE THAT STARTS AT 50 MPH AND BECOME SO LOUD IT IS A DISTRACTION ABOVE 60MPH. I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE OF THE MISSING ROOF RACK COVER. THE DEALER SAID THEY ARE STILL WEEKS AWAY FROM RECEIVING THE BACK ORDERED PARTS. WHILE AT THE DEALER I OBSERVED FOUR OTHER FORD EXPLORERS IN THE SERVICE BAY, ALL FOR ROOF RACK SERVICE. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THEY AVERAGE 8 SERVICE CALLS A DAY FOR THIS ISSUE WITH SEVERAL A WEEK MISSING THE ROOF RACK COVER FROM BEING BLOWN OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. FORD IS OFFERING ME A BUY BACK ON MY VEHICLE, HOWEVER THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED THE OFFER IN THE TIME FRAME THEY COMMITTED TO. NOTE, I AM FOND OF FORDS, I OWN THREE OF THEM HOWEVER THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE. I'M RETIRED FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT AND WAS A CERTIFIED CRASH RECONSTRUCTIONIST. I FORESEE VEHICLE CRASHES OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE WITH PARTS FALLING OFF THIS YEAR AND MAKE OF FORD VEHICLE (2017 EXPLORER)*DT*DT*JB*JB*DT*DT*DT*JB*DT CONSUMER STATED PASSENGER SIDE CAME OFF.*JB*JB
THE DOOR DOOR KEYLESS ENTRY PAD BROKE OFF AND FLEW FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. NO PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE KEYPAD/DOOR TRIM PRIOR TO THIS OCCURRING. UPON INSPECTION THE PASSENGER DOOR TRIM (WITHOUT THE KEYPAD) ALSO SEEMS TO BE "LOOSE" AT THE TOP, POTENTIALLY HAVING IT FLY OFF DURING NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER SAID THAT A RECALL WAS IN PLACE FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE BUT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. ALTHOUGH, ALL DESCRIPTIONS I COULD FIND SEEM TO HAVE INCLUDED EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to make a left turn, the steering wheel failed to respond. The contact shifted to park(P) and then shifted back into drive(D). The vehicle then regained steering functionality. The contact was able to continue driving however, the failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on three occasions; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,676.
THE VEHICLE HAD LOOSE K MEMBER BOLTS, BENT STRUTS, LOOSE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS WAS FOUND WHEN WE TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR FIRST OIL CHANGE
USED MY REMOTE START AS USUAL, PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND AT THE END OF MY STREET I HEARD MY BACK WINDOW BURST. IT LOOKS AS IF IT'S EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE, AS THE WINDOW IS BOWED OUTWARD.
- Transmission/torque convertor has and is failing. Results in lack of acceleration during launch, sluggish vehicle operation and shudder - Known issue with this make/model/year of vehicle. Failure of the above began at 40,000 some miles and is presently not driveable at only 67,000 miles without an $8-$10,000 repair for a new transmission. - Confirmed with dealer the above issue and is in writing and submitted Case #CAS-47518676-K5Y6Y7 with Ford directly. Located letter sent to dealerships regarding this very issue dated 10/2020. - Vehicle has not been in any accidents, but am receiving a "warning" light indicating failure.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD TRIM RIPPED OFF AS I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND FLEW UP IN THE AIR AND LANDED BEHIND ME. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NOT A VEHICLE BEHIND ME. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS LOOSE, AND I GLUED IT DOWN WITH GORILLA GLUE AS A TEMPORARY HOLD. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE NOTICED MANY EXPLORERS WITH THE SAME MISSING WINDSHIELD TRIM. I FEEL THIS POSES A DANGER NOT NECESSARILY TO THE DRIVER, BUT OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.
THE HOUSING FOR THE ANTENNAS AND GPS ON THE TOP OF THE EXPLORER CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING. TWO DIFFERENT FORD SERVICE TECHS SAID THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. WE WILL NOW BE OUT OF POCKET $650 FOR A PROBLEM THEY KNOW ABOUT.
EXPLORER TRUCK STARTED LEAKING COOLANT FROM WATER PUMP. IN PARKED POSITION A PUDDLE STARTED TO FORM UNDER IT.
The trim and gasket around the windshield has become broken and cracked within the first 60k miles. The gasket has come loose and was flapping against the windshield while driving. In order to replace the trim must be broken off. Ford refused to fix and said would be $1200 to fix. If you look at many explorers from these model years it’s a recurring thing they they know about. This needs to be recalled because it can come off and fly and hit the vehicle behind us.
When it rains, water leaks from the lights, seatbelts and dome lights. The water collects on the passenger floorboard front and rear and collects in the spare tire well. The car is now starting to mold this winter. We have brought the car in past years to be fixed with the Ford dealership not able to fix the reason for the leaking. yes, this car is available for inspection. The car is forming mold spores inside and we are unable to park under cover. It is potential for making us sick. Ford could not find a source of how to fix the water leak.
The APIM is malfunction in my 2017 explorer. Accessories stay on after vehicle turned off, killed battery, vehicle collision sensors and camera intermediate malfunction. Cruise control intermittent function, GPS and screen options /operations inoperable
THIS ISSUE ALREADY HAS AN NHTSA ID NUMBER 10156860 LEAKING PDU. THE PARTICULAR FAILURE OF THIS UNIT LEAKS OIL ONTO HOT EXHAUST AND ACCORDING TO A LOCAL SERVICE CENTER IS A FIRE RISK PUTTING OCCUPANTS AND PROPERTY IN POTENTIAL HARMS WAY. IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY WELL DOCUMENTED AND COMMON FAILURE AND IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS. THE COST OF REPAIR VARIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY HOWEVER APPEARS TO RANGE BETWEEN $1800.00-$4000.00 MINE ALTHOUGH FAILED PRE WARRANTY EXPIRATION BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS 3600 MILES OVER MY DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY. THEY ARE POTENTIALLY OFFERING "SOME FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE" THROUGH SOME FORD LOYALTY PROGRAM HOWEVER I HAVE YET TO SEE WHAT THAT WILL LOOK LIKE.
The car sways when changing lanes on parkway

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the trim panel. The contact stated that while driving on another occasion, the failure occurred with the passenger’s side windshield trim panel. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer who replaced the trim panel. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 3,000.
CAR OFF. WHEN FILLING TANK, WHEN IT'S FULL AND THE PUMP CLICKS OFF THAT YOUR TANK IS FULL AND YOU PULL THE GAS PUMP OUT THE CAR IT SPILLS OUT FUEL THERE'S NO SAFETY OR STOP EVERY TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK GAS COMES OUT DOWN THE CAR ONTO THE GROUND SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE NEW.
Window trim flew off while driving striking another cars windshield. Causing that driver to swerve.
PAINT IN FRONT OF ROOF STARTED BUBBLING DO TO CORROSION FORMING UNDER THE PAINT. FORD WONT COVER IT BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO HAVE A HOLE FOR THEM TO COVER IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN ACCELERATING ON TO THE HIGHWAY OR UPHILL, THE INSIDE CABIN SMELLS OF FUMES. I BELIEVE IT IS CARBON MONOXIDE. WHEN THE CAR IS WARMING UP IN THE MORNING, THE CABIN SMELLS DO FUMES, I BELIEVE ITNIS CARBON MONOXIDE. I HAVE PURCHASED A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR AND WILL INCLUDE IT IN THE CABIN.
USED AUTO START FEATURE TO START THE CAR.WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR THE REAR GLASS EXPLODED. TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 15 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. I BELIEVE THE WINDOW HEATER CAUSED THE FAILURE.
IN JANUARY 2021 I had a recall for the roof rails on my 2017 Ford Explorer - it took them a year to get the parts due to covid but they finally fixed the roof rails. About one month ago the roof rails started to pop back up - I made appointment at local Ford Dealership in Fuquay Varina, NC. The told me the recall was closed and they were not responsible for them coming up again as they repaired them for the recall. Once recall is closed out that is it .. nothing can be done. Is this correct? They finally agreed to cover 60 percent and I would have to pay 40 percent. Is this correct. Why should I have to pay out of pocked when the repair did not fix the problem. I contacted Ford at [XXX],[XXX] and they told me the same thing and said I only had until December 21 to make a decision. How can this be fair. Please help. MY 3 YR OLD TRUCK ALREADY HAS A LEAKING COOLANT LINE WHICH COME TO FIND OUT IS DRAINING INTO THE WATER LINE IN THE ENGINE. I CAN'T DRIVE MORE THAN 5MILES BEFORE I NEED TO REFILL MY COOLANT. IN ADDITION, THE HEATING ELEMENTS IN BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS HAS GONE OUT. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FUSE AND OF COURSE ITS SOMETHING MORE.
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND THE ROOF RACK BROKE AND FLEW OFF MY CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST HITTING THE CAR BEHIND ME. THE CAR HAS 31,998 MILES ON IT
LAST NIGHT ONE OF MY HANKOOK S1 NOBLE ON MY 2017 FORD EXPLORER BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE 405 FREEWAY AND REQUIRED ME TO PULL OVER AND CHANGE THE TIRE. AT 21,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE/ TIRES THE MECHANIC SHOP TOLD ME THE TIRES WERE BASICALLY BALD AND HAD RUBBER EVENLY ERODING (WHICH INDICATES NOT AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE). THE TIRES WERE ALSO ROTATED AND SUPPOSED TO LAST 50,000 MILES. THERE ARE ALSO MANY OTHER COMPLAINS ON THESE TIRES THROUGHOUT THE INTERNET BUT NOT RECALL HAS BEEN INITIATED BY HANKOOK. THEY HAVE ADVISED THEY WILL GIVE A PRO-RATED DISCOUNT ON NEW TIRES, WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE AND NEGLIGENT..
PURCHASED MY 2017 FORD EXPLORER 2/12/2018, BOUGHT NEW FROM DEALER, AND NOW HAS 6029 MILES ON IT. THE WINDSHIELD SEAL AND ROOF RAILS HAVE DETERIORATED AND COMING AWAY FROM THE SUV. BUT, THE PARTS THEY QUOTED ME WAS FOR FOUR PILLERS THAT GO ON EACH SIDE OF WINDSHIELD, NOTHING ABOUT A SEAL. I WAS INFORMED THIS IS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT FROM THE MANUFACTURE AND SHOULD BE COVERED. QUOTED $982.01 TO REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND FORD SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THIS PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE AND WINDSHIELD COULD CRACK CAUSING VISION PROBLEMS UNEXPECTEDLY AND COULD CAUSE HARM/INJURY TO THE DRIVER. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IN A ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAPPEN. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD FORD VEHICLES, BUT WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER AGAIN.
REAR CAMERA GLITCHES OUT AND IMAGE IS DISTORTED ON MANY CASES WHEN BACKING UP.. SIMILAR TO CONCERNS ON RECENT RECALL ON NEWER MODELS. ADDITIONALLY, BACK ELECTRIC 12V PORT DOES NOT DISENGAGE AND HAS LIVE CONNECTION EVEN WITH NO KEY IN IGNITION. FINALLY, VENTS NEXT TO PASSENGER SIDE DOOR APPEARS TO EXUDE HOT AIR INTO CAR THAT MAY BE LINKED WITH EXHAUST WHEN CAR IS ON.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE BACK SEAT IN FOLDED DOWN POSITION CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED A 12 INCH HOLE THROUGH TOP AND BOTTOM OF SEAT. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE THE SEAT HEATER WAS NOT ON THE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS NOT ON.
PLASTIC WINDSHIELD MOLDING ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE ARE PULLING AWAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD AND ARE NOW LOOSE. ROOF RAILS HAVE STARTED TO PULL AWAY FROM THE ROOF AND ARE WARPING ALONG THE EDGES. THE ROOF RAILS WERE REPLACED WITHIN A MONTH OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. PLASTIC MOLDING AT THE DOORS APPEARS TO BE MELTING AND WARPING IN SEVERAL AREAS.
THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT FEELS LOOSE. WHEN DRIVING AND TAKING A SHARP CURVE OR GOING OVER BUMPS THE SEAT SHIFTS.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT COOLANT WAS FOUND IN THE ENGINE AND ALSO THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V925000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
MY EXPLORER HAS 70.000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MAKE SOUNDS WHEN IS IN MOTION LIKE METAL TO METAL AND WHEN I ACELERATE IS GETING WORST AND WHEN IT SHIFT IT JUMP AT 3.000 RPM I BRING THE EXPLORER TO THE DEALER AND IM WAITING FOR DIAGNOSTIC
CAR PULLED IN MY LANE MY CAR AUTO BREAKED, I ALSO PUT ON BREAK THEN ICON CAME ON ABOUT AIRBAG ISSUE. TOOK TO FORD RUN TEST. THE PIG TAIL THAT GOES TO AIRBAGS, NEED TO SAUTER 21 PINS THAT GOES TO CONNECTION OF PIGTAIL TO AIRBAG.
MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD BECOME VERY STICKY. I WOULD MAKE A TURN AND THEN WHEN I WOULD GO TO TURN THE WHEEL BACK, IT WOULD STICK. IT ALMOST THREW ME INTO A TRACTOR TRAILER YESTERDAY. I NOTICED IT MORE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND MOST TIMES IT WAS SOMETHING I COULD 'DEAL WITH', PLANNING AHEAD WHEN TURNING, SLOWING MY SPEED, ACCOUNTING FOR OVER CORRECTING THE WHEEL, BUT YESTERDAY WAS VERY SCARY. I FELT LIKE I HAD TO MAKE CONSTANT LITTLE TURNS WITH MY WHEEL EVEN THOUGH I WAS GOING PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. I PULLED OFF AND TURNED MY CAR OFF AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS AS NOTICEABLY NOT AS BAD. I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I'VE HAD IT FOR LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AND THEY INFORMED ME I NEED A NEW STEERING GEAR BOX. I WAS CONSTANTLY AFRAID OF OVER CORRECTING MY WHEEL TO ACCOMMODATE FOR THE STICKINESS OF IT AND ENDING UP IN THE OTHER LANE OR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD PILLAR MOLDINGS ARE LOOSE AND COMING OFF AND MAKING A VIBRATION SOUND WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED OVER 30 MPH. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THEM FLYING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT TO OTHER MOTORISTS. I HAVE HAD THEM CHECKED BY THE DEALER AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THEM.

I NOTICED A STRANGE NOISE WHEN I MADE TURNS AND IT FELT AS IF MY DRIVER SEAT MADE A SLIGHT MOVEMENT. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY LOOKED AT IT THOROUGHLY AFTER 3 TIMES THEY DETERMINED THE BAR UNDER MY SEAT THAT BASICALLY HOLDS MY SEAT IN PLACE WAS BROKE COMPLETELY IN HALF. NO EXPLANATION. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MI ON IT. THEY STATED THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT CHARGED ME THE DEDUCTIBLE AND FIXED IT MY CONCERN IS THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND IF IT HADN'T NOTICED IT AND HAD AN ACCIDENT I FELT LIKE MY SEAT WOULD HAVE DETACHED. IT WAS A LITTLE SCARY AND DISCONCERTING.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR ENTRY KEYPAD PILLAR MOLDING, JUST FELL OFF. IT APPEARS TO BE GLUED AND AFTER TIME THE GLUE DOESN'T HOLD AND THE WHOLE MOLDING JUST FALLS OFF AND HANGS FROM THE KEYLESS WIRES WHILE DRIVING AS IT SCRATCHES UP YOUR PAINT. DEALER WANTS OVER $600 TO REPLACE.

I bought the 2017 Ford Explorer on 8/29/2020. The next month I drove to Nags Head, N.C. from Nashville, Tn. Sometime within an hour of arrival, the a piece of trim on the passenger side panel between the doors fell off while going over the bridges. We never saw it and did not know where it landed. I ordered a replacement from Ford Parts to replace it.
