WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK LOST POWER AND THE GAS PEDAL DON'T WORK FOR 25 SEC. GO OFF AND ON AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AND IN CITY STREETS. THIS HAPPENED IN THREE (3) DIFFERENT TIMES. THE DEALER DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. CAR IS BEEN ON THE DEALER IN THREE(3) DIFFERENT TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING EXHAUST FUMES ENTER CABIN WHILE EXCELERATING AND WHEN AIR CONDITIONER IS ON
SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH "ROTTEN EGGS" SMELL / EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN AS FOUND IN THE FORD CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT CONCERNING 2011-2015 FORD EXPLORER MODELS. THE SMELL / EXHAUST FUMES COME THROUGH THE A/C VENTS IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNDER ANY MODERATE TO HEAVY ACCELERATION. THIS PROBLEM CAN BE DUPLICATED EVERY SINGLE TIME. THE SMELL / EXHAUST FUMES ARE NAUSEATING AND POTENTIALLY TOXIC EXHAUST FUMES. THIS PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD WILL BE REPORTED TO THE APPROPRIATE AGENCIES INCLUDING BBB, AND ALL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND CORRECTED BY FORD MOTOR CO. IT LOOKS LIKE FORD HAS NEVER CORRECTED PROBLEM BECAUSE IT STILL EXISTS IN THE 2017 MODELS.
WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY DURING FAST ACCELERATION NO MATTER THE SPEED, THERE IS THE SMELL OF EXHAUST IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY SAY THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE SMELL OF EXHAUST IS PRESENT ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
BACK UP CAMERA DOES NOT WORK ON A BRAND NEW CAR.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE FAR TOO BRIGHT,EVEN IN DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS.AS AN UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE OF AN EFFORT TO INCREASE THE VISIBILITY OF THE VEHICLE,THEY ARE QUITE CAPABLE OF MOMENTARILY BLINDING ONCOMING DRIVERS.OBVIOUSLY,THIS EFFORT TO INCREASE HEADLIGHT INTENSITY IS OVERLOOKING THE FACT THAT IT MAY BE CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY TO OTHER DRIVERS.
WE HAVE TAKEN OUR EXPLORER INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP TWICE NOW. WHEN YOU ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY THERE IS A REALLY BAD EXHAUST SMELL IN THE CABIN FROM TIME TO TIME. THEY CLAIM TO FIX IT EVERY TIME AND THEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. I AM VERY WORRIED BECAUSE I AM 22 WEEKS PREGNANT NOW AND I HAD BEEN PLACED ON BED REST DUE TO SPOTTING I WAS HAVING. I AM NOT SURE IF THE TWO ARE LINKED. I AM NOT ON BED REST ANYMORE. THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. I WILL CHOOSE A DATE BELOW, BUT IT IS ONGOING.
THIS A POLICE PATROL VEHICLE USED AS A K-9 UNIT. DEPUTIES HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING OF HEADACHES AFTER SHIFT. LAST NIGHT THEY HAD TO BE SEEN BY EMS. THEY HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING OF A SULFUR SMELL INSIDE THE EXPLORER. THEY HAD THE FIRE DEPT CHECK THE CARBON MONOXIDE LEVELS AND IT WAS OVER 100PPM. IT IS AT A FORD DEALER NOW AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. THIS IS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW AND IT HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS WE JUST DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS.
BRAKES ARE VERY SENSITIVE. WHEN APPLYING THEM YOU HAVE TO THINK A LOT ABOUT FOOT PRESSURE. UNLESS YOU WANT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT 60 MPH. LOCAL FORD SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME HE KNOWS ABOUT THE SENSITIVITY AND NO FIX FOR IT AT THIS TIME. SO WE WILL WAIT TILL WE HAVE A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT OR SELL THE CARE AS IS.
SMELL OF EGG/SULFUR IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR AFTER RAPID ACCELERATION. I HAD NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AT MY LAST OIL CHANGE. THEY DIDN'T SEEM CONCERNED ABOUT IT. THE SMELLS HAS CONTINUED. DEALERSHIP IS NOW TELLING ME TO WAIT TILL NOV 1ST. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DEC 2016 AND HAS STEADILY GOTTEN WORSE. I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A BIG DEAL SINCE THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SEEM CONCERNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY OBSERVED AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF FUMES THROUGHOUT THE VENTS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THE ODOR WAS SO ABSORBENT THAT IT CAUSED HEADACHES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500.
WITHIN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF GETTING MY VEHICLE THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD COME ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. RESTARTING THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES FIX IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TOOK 5 DAYS TO FIX IT. ENDED UP BEING THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT TENSIONER.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD EXPLORER PLATINUM WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW ON NOVEMBER 25, 2016. IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO REALIZE BUT EVERY TIME I WOULD DRIVE THE EXPLORER, MY EYES WOULD GET VERY HEAVY AND I WOULD DEVELOP A HEADACHE. I COMMUTE 42 MILES EACH WAY FOR WORK AND I CANT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES I ALMOST FELL COMPLETELY ASLEEP. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM TO DUE TO POSSIBLE CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) LEAKS ENTERING THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAD THIS LOOKED AT EARLY THIS YEAR. FORD REPLACED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND I NOTICED A MAJOR DIFFERENCE IN HOW I FELT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. RECENTLY, IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN WITH HEADACHES AND FEELING SLEEPY WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT FORD CORPORATE ABOUT THIS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. I WOULD LIKE FOR THEM TO EITHER COMPLETELY FIX THE ISSUE OR ALLOW ME TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER ONE. THIS IS TRULY A HAZARD NOT ONLY TO MYSELF BUT FOR MY PASSENGERS (WIFE AND KIDS) AND TO OTHERS ON THE ROAD. PLEASE HELP TO GET THIS RESOLVED...

THIS IS A BRAND NEW EXPLORER 2017 WITH LESS THAN 700 MILES. I HAD TWO PROBLEMS; THE FIRST ONE IS SERIOUS. 1)THIS HAPPENED WITH ME TWICE; WHERE THERE WAS A FUEL LEAKING FROM THE CAR TO THE GROUND WHEN I FILLED THE CAR. I BELIEVE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH A FULL TANK. I BELIEVE THAT IF THE CAR ROLES OVER IN AN ACCIDENT IT IS GOING TO CATCH FIRE I WILL TRY TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. 2) THE GAS MILEAGE IN THIS CAR IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMED THAT MPG IS 16/22, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT IS LESS THAN 13 IN CITY. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.
VERY STRONG EXHAUST SMELL IN CABIN AFTER HARD ACCELERATION. THE AC WAS ON AND IN THE RECIRCULATION POSITION. THE SMELL IS STRONG AND THE CABIN MUST BE VENTED BY ROLLING THE WINDOWS DOWN TO EVACUATE THE SMELL.

THE CONTACT STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING SHE WOULD EXPERIENCE BLURRED VISION, TROUBLE SWALLOWING, SEVERE HEADACHES AND TINGLING SENSATIONS IN HER ARMS AND LEGS. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN TO SEVERAL HOSPITALS AND CLINICS WHERE SHE HAD NUMEROUS TESTS, PLACED ON SEVERAL MEDICATIONS AND RECEIVED A DIAGNOSIS OF SMALL FIBER NEPHROPATHY. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD A HEART MONITOR IMPLANT DUE TO HER ILLNESSES. IN JULY 2018, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A CALL FROM HER DEALERSHIP (ROMEO FORD OF KINGSTON, LLC 128 NY-28, KINGSTON, NY 12401 (845) 338-7800) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE EXHAUST AND WAS ASKED IF SHE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. FORD CORPORATION THEN GAVE THE CONTACT A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE THEY MADE REPAIRS. ON JUNE 10, 2019, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HER CARDIOLOGIST WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS TO BE CARBON-MONOXIDE POISONING AND THAT UPON RECEIVING A LOANER VEHICLE, THE PATIENT NO LONGER EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS WHEN DRIVING THE PREVIOUS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *DT *DT *DT*JB
I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE EXHAUST SMELL IN THE VEHICLE FROM THE INITIAL TRIP I TOOK WITH THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DISCUSSED WITH THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS BUT FORD HAS NOT RECALLED OR COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I AM AWARE OF OTHER CUSTOMERS USING THE LEMON LAW IN FLORIDA TO REPLACE THEIR VEHICLE. NOW THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN EXPOSED BY THE MEDIA I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I CAN ALWAYS TAKE THE FLORIDA LEMON LAW APPROACH IF THERE IS NO SOLUTION. THE PROBLEM IS NOT JUST WITH INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES THAT FORD IS NOW ADDRESSING?? MOST IF NOT ALL EXPLORERS FROM 2011 HAVE THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS VERY PREVALENT WHEN THE CAR IS ACCELERATED QUICKLY. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO DISCUSS WITH SOMEONE AND ACTUALLY SHOW THEM THE EFFECT BY ACCELERATION.
REAR SEAT BELT DOES NOT FASTEN PROPERLY WHEN A COSMETIC DOOR BECOMES JAMMED IN THE MECHANISM. SEAT BELT WAS RENDERED UNUSABLE AND COULD EFFECT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE REAR SEATS. DESIGN FLAW EXPECTED, NO ABUSE TO COMPONENTS AND BRAND NEW VEHICLE. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING OR NOT- THE SEATBELTS FAILED TO WORK (FASTEN). IN THE ATTACHED PICTURES YOU CAN SEE MY FINGER PUSHING ON THE DOOR THAT BECAME JAMMED- IN THE OTHER PICTURE YOU CAN SEE THE DOOR WAS REMOVED BY THE DEALER AFTER IT FAILED (CAUSING THE SEATBELT TO NO LONGER FUNCTION).
AFTER A STOP, THE CAR WAS AT STATIONARY, WAS NOT ABLE TO START THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON, GAVE ME ERROR ON THE DASHBOARD "FULL ACCESSORY POWER ACTIVE". TRIED TO TURN IT OFF, AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES OF TRYING, WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR, IT HAS 606 MI ON IT.

ON 09/15/16 WE PURCHASED A 2017 FORD EXPLORER LIMITED FROM SUPREME FORD OF SLIDELL, LA. TWO WEEKS AFTER HAVING THE SUV, WE NOTICED THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT WAS NOT WORKING AT TIMES. ON 11/16/2016, WE DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE LIGHT. WHEN THE SALES MANAGER DROVE THE SUV TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE REAR RIGHT TAILLIGHT WAS WORKING.. BUT WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER LOOKED AT THE SUV, THE LIGHT WAS WORKING. BUT WHEN WE STARTED BACK TO DENHAM SPRINGS, LA, THE RIGHT TAILLIGHT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. I TOOK SEVERAL VIDEOS OF THE LIGHT RANDOMLY GOING OFF AND ON THE TRIP BACK HOME WITH MY IPHONE. I ATTACHED VIDEO OF THE LIGHT, I EDITED IT TO A SMALLER SIZE AND EMAILED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. ON 11/17/16 WE RECEIVED A REPLY FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER STATING; THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO VIDEO AND SEND IT TO US REGARDING THE TAILLAMP CONCERN YOU ARE HAVING WITH YOUR 2017 EXPLORER, THE NEXT TIME THE CONCERN DISPLAY ITSELF CONSISTENTLY, A RENTAL AT OUR EXPENSE FOR A DAY TO SEE IF WE CAN ISOLATE THE CAUSE. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO INCREASE THE RPMS TO APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH, THE VEHICLE EMITTED A STRONG, FOUL ODOR SIMILAR TO ROTTEN EGGS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SANDERS FORD (1135 LEJUNE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, NC 28540; 1-888-897-8527) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND COMPLETED THE DIRECTIONS ON A SPECIFIC SERVICE BULLETIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER REPLACED THE VENTS UNDERNEATH THE BUMPER. THE SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
I RENTED A 2017 FROM ENTERPRISE. I WAS IN A BAD CAR ACCIDENT ON A STREET DOING MAYBE 20MPH TOTAL LOSS FRONT DAMAGE AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED I WENT INSIDE ANOTHER VEHICLE I NEVER SAW THE AIRBAG SHOWING ON WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD ON MY SEAT BELT. I NOW SUFFER WITH A SPINE PROBLEM CAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT. I CANT BELIEVE AFTER A HARD IMPACT THAT THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED
2017 FORD EXPLORER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ALERT GAUGE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYS FAILURE OF COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM, TRACKING CONTROL SYSTEM AND STEERING SYSTEM. ATTEMPTS TO REPLACE/REPAIR SENSOR AND STEERING COLUMN FAILS. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER A SENSOR WAS REPLACED. TWO DAYS LATER, THE DEALER CALLED THE CONSUMER AND INFORMED HIM THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED AND STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AUGUST 2016. SHORTLY THERE AFTER STARTING SUFFERING SEVERE HEADACHES. VISITED MY FAMILY DOCTOR IN NOVEMBER 2017 AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MIGRAINE HEADACHES AND PRESCRIBED MEDICATION. WENT BACK TO DOCTOR DECEMBER 2016 BECAUSE MEDICINE WAS NOT HELPING. I WAS HAVING 2 HEADACHES A WEEK SO THEY TRIED A MORE AGGRESSIVE MEDICINE TO NO AVAIL. DOCTOR COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY! I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED HEADACHES UNTIL I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD EXPLORER THAT HAS A EXHAUST LEAK THAT I SMELL WHEN I ENTER THE HIGHWAY. I ALSO SMELL THIS ODOR WHEN I TOW MY WAVE RUNNER. THE ODOR IS SO STRONG THAT MY SON VOMITED WHILE IN THE VEHICLE. I TOOK MY 2017 FORD EXPLORER TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT CAN NOT FIX IT. STRONG EXHAUST SMELL IN CABIN UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. REQUIRES OPENING THE WINDOWS TO DISSIPATE THE SMELL. CONCERNED ABOUT PROLONGED EXPOSURE FOR CHILD AND FAMILY. HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR (SINCE NEW).
