THIS COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT. WHEN THE SEAT BELT TONGUE IS INSERTED INTO THE BUCKLE THERE IS THE REASSURING "CLICK" AND IT FEELS SECURE AND ENGAGED. HOWEVER, WHEN LEANING FORWARD THE SEAT BELT COMES UNLATCHED. PREVIOUSLY THIS WAS AN OCCASIONAL FAILURE, NOW IT FAILS WHENEVER LEANING FORWARD. I HAVE NOT YET MADE EFFORTS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. I WEAR THE BELT BECAUSE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN CALIFORNIA IS VERY STRICT ABOUT SEAT BELT USE. INFORMATION STAMPED ON THE BACK OF THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE: TRW RCF-67. *TR
DRIVER SEATBELT JAMS UP AND MAKES IT UNSAFE TO UNBUCKLE. *KB
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO START THE IGNITION. THE CONSUMER OPENED THE HOOD, AND SAW WIRES MELTED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH CAUSED THE MELTING OF THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED ONTO THE ENGINE. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS BURNED COMPLETELY FROM THE ENGINE TO THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONSUMER WAS AWARE THAT LATER MODEL FORD 150'S WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS NO HORN OR CRUISE CONTROL AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHED. *SC
