MY VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN STARTED APPOX.15 HOURS BEFORE THE INCIDENT, AT ABOUT 5AM ON MARCH 10, 2004 I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND I SAW A FLAME ON THE HOOD OF MY TRUCK, BY THE TIME I HAD WOKE MY HUSBAND AND WE GOT OUTSIDE ( ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS)THE WHOLE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS ON FIRE I CALLED 911 AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME. MY TRUCK IS A LOSS I HAVE NO INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THIS. PLUS I OWED THE FIRE DEPT.*JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BECAME FLAT. CONSUMER REMOVED THE FLAT TIRE WITH THE JACK. THE INFLATED TIRE COULD NOT BE LIFTED HIGH ENOUGH TO BEREPLACED ON THE AXLE. THE JACK WOULD NOT RAISE HIGH ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE TIRE. *AK *MR
1995 FORD F-250 FRONT AXLE PIVOT BRACKETS SEPARATED FROM FRAME CROSS-MEMBER AND CRACKED.
LEAKING FUEL TANKS. BOTH OF MY FUEL TANKS LEAK ON MY 1995 FORD F150. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. I ALSO HAVE A 1992 F150 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. FOR YEARS, YET HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *LA
I DROVE MY 1995 FORD F-150 TO A PARK-N-RIDE LOT IN KATY, TEXAS LAST NOVEMBER, 2003. APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS LATER I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE WEST I-10 FIRE DEPARTMENT THAT THEY HAD EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE FROM MY VEHICLE. MY TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. ALL THE RUBBER AND PLASTIC IN THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND FRONT TIRES WERE MELTED. THE BACK OF THE DASH WAS MELTED. IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS.*AK
BROKEN FRONT LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING DUE TO RUSTING ON 1995 FORD FF150 2WD. FOUND DURING PA STATE INSPECTION. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW SO I KNOW ITS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR BEEN USED IN ANY WAY THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE SPRING. INSPECTION GARAGE REPORTS SPING IS BROKEN IN TWO PLACES. TRUCK IS NOT USED IN COMMERCIAL HAULING OR ANY HAULING OF HEAVY LOADS OR PULLING ANY HEAVY LOAD. PRIMARY USE IS FOR COMMUTER TRANSPORTATION TO / FROM WORK. *AK
WHILE ON VACATION OUT OF TOWN, TRUCKS ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE AND BLEW UP WHILE PARKED UNDER HOUSE CARPORT, CAUSING SERIOUS HOUSE AND COMPLETE TRUCK DAMAGE
THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A FIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF THE PARKED VEHICLE. RESULTS SHOWED THAT THERE WAS A SHORTAGE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO CATCH ON FIRE UNEXPECTEDLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BY THE CONSUMER. *AK *SC
THIRTY MINUTES AFTER COMING HOME FROM WORK, PASSER-BY KNOCKED ON MY DOOR TO TELL ME MY FORD F-150 4X4 XLT TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. I GRABBED MY FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT I WAS TO LATE. THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY INVOLVED. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY RESPONED AND EVENTUALLY PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSE AND I HAD NO INSURANCE ON IT. NO CAUSE WAS EVER FOUND. *JB
THE BRAKE LINES HAVE RUSRED AND BROCKEN . THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPEND I REPLACED THE FRONT LINES. THAT WAS AROUND 5-1-2003. THEN ON 8-19-2003 . I WAS DRIVEING TO WORK I PRIST THE PEDAL TO STOP AND THE PEDAL WENT DOWN PART WAY .THEN IT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN. SO PULLED OVER .AND FOUND NO BRACK FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER.CHECKA LITTLE MORE AND FOUND THE BRAKE LINE GOING FROMTHE FRONT TO THE BACK HAD RUSTED AND BROKEN JUST IN FRONT OF THE LEFT TIRE NEXT TO THE FRAME.*AK
THE LIFT SPRING MOUNTS AND FRONT WHEEL MOUNTS ARE PREMATURELY RUSTING AWAY TO A UNSERVICABLE CONDINTION AND COULD BREAK OFF FROM TRUCK FRAM BECAUSE OF DISINTEGRATION. LARGE PIECES OF RUSTED METAL ARE FLAKING OF OF PRESS STEEL MOUNTS.*AK
3 OF THE 4 TIRES ON MY 1995 FORD PICKUP HAVE BLOWN OUT WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY BY THE ENTIRE OUTSIDE SIDEWALL COMING APART. TWO IN THE PAST WEEK. DATE BELOW IS LATEST OF THE THREE. TRAIL MARK RADIAL APV 235/75R15'S. (THIS SIZE IS NOT AVAILABLE ON YOUR LIST OF MODELS NUMBERS, SO DISREGARD ANY BUT THIS NUMBER.) ALSO, THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR ONLY ONE OF THE THREE TIRES THAT HAVE FAILED FOR ME, ALL THE SAME SIZE/ MODEL.*AK
THE LEFT REAR DUELLER TIRE EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION. THE CONSUMER HEARD A POP AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE GROUND. BRIDGESTONE HAD BEEN CONTACTED.*AK *TS *JB
THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS DUE TO A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE WIRING HARNESS. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY BURNED. *AK
CONSUMER STATES WIRE HARNEST CAUGHT ON FIRE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
THE RIGHT FRONT RADIUS ROD BUSHING MOUNT FAILED. THIS RESULTED IN THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE MOVING REARWARD, LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. HAD IT OCCURRED AT HIGH SPEED, SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED.

FAULTY WIRING HARNESS. *AK
I HAVE A DUAL FUEL TANK SYSTEM. THE REAR TANK IS PUMPING GAS INTO THE FORWARD TANK. THE FORWARD TANK IS OVERFLOWING PAST THE FILLER CAP AND SPILLING TO THE GROUND. THESE SYMPTOMS ARE INDENTICAL TO THE 1993 F-SERIES FUEL SYSTEMS PROBLEMS NHTSA ID # 00V-424, MFG CAMPAIGN # 00S57. I JUST WENT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY LOOKED UP MY VIN AND SAID THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED UNDER THIS RECALL. THE DEALER IS MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WOULD FIRST HAVE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE CAUSE AND FIND OUT IF THE FAILURE IS DUE TO THE SAME PART BEING DEFECTIVE AS THE RECALL ITEMS. THEN I WOULD HAVE TO BATTLE FORD TO PAY FOR THE FIX. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY SOMETIMES HAVE TROUBLE GETTING FORD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL, EVEN IF IT IS THE SAME PART MALFUNCTIONING. I AM GOING TO BEGIN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE SOON AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME. HAVING SEEN THAT THESE SAME SYMPTOMS HAVE APPEARED ON EARLIER MODELS I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND SUSPECT THAT OTHER SAME YEAR VEHICLES AS MY MAY DEVELOP THIS PROBLEM.
IN JUNE 2003 MY 1995 F150,VIN 1FTEX14NSKA48833 BURNT SITTING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I HAD THE KEY IN THE HOUSE, COLD FOR 3 DAYS. I HAVE PICTURES BEFORE AND AFTER THE BURN. FOR ISSUED THE RECALL ON MY TRUCK JUST LAST MONTH. THE LOCAL SERVICE MANAGER SENT IN BY EMAIL COPIES OF THE PICTURES. THEY REFUSE CULPABILITY. *NM
IN THE SUMMER OF 2003 WE PARKED OUR 1995 FORD F150 PICKUP IN OUR DRIVEWAY AROUND 2PM. NO ONE DROVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. AT 11:00 PM OUR NEIGHBOR CAME RUNNING OVER BECAUSE HE'D SMELLED SMOKE. THE VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE BY ITSELF. WE AND BOTH NEIGHBORS TRIED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT BUT BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT GOT THERE (20 MINUTES LATER) THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. IT HAD COMPLETELY BURNED OUT THE ENGINE AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAB. THE TIRES IN THE FRONT EVEN EXPLODED. THE FIREMEN COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT HAPPENED BUT THEY SAID THAT IT WASN'T THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAD HAPPENED. WE HAVE INSURANCE AND WERE REIMBURSED FOR THE DAMAGES. WE WANT TO REPORT THIS TO ADD IT TO THE INFORMATION THAT'S BEING COLLECTED ON THE FORD FIRES.
I HAVE A 1995 FORD F150 WITH DUEL FUEL TANKS. I DROVE HOME FROM WORK AND FOUND MY TRUCK FLOWING FUEL OUT OF THE FRONT TANK FILLER AFTER THE TRUCK WAS SHUT OFF. I RESEARCHED QUICKLY ON LINE AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH 94-95 TRUCKS THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEN I CHECKED YOUR INTERNET SITE. THE FOLLOWING ARE RECALL NUMBERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM...EXCEPT THEY ARE FOR THE YEARS OF 1990-1993. 01I0080000 , 93V125000 , 00V424000 . I WENT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM IN SEPTEMBER OF 2002. THEY SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE BY THEM BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY TRUCK. I WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS...THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT THEY ADMITTED TO IN THE EARLIER VEHICHLES! FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE SERVICE WRITER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE IN THIS YEAR VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY FORD CAN GET AWAY WITH SUCH AN OBVIOUS SAFTY ISSUE. FORD-F150 WITH 2 FUEL TANKS. REAR FUEL TANK LEAKS GAS FROM BOTTOM OF TANK ABOVE SPARE TIRE. THIS TRUCK IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD AND IS ALWAYS IN USE/TANKS ARE ALWAYS ROTATED.*JB
MY TRUCK THAT HAD BEEN JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS JUST CAUGHT ON FIRE. WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A RODENT KNAWING ON THE ELECTRICAL WIRES, SO WE NEVER CONTACTED ANYONE. BUT LATELY WE HAVE BEEN SEEING HOW OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE, BUT FORD HAS RECALLED THEIR TRUCK.
WE HAVE SPENT OVER $5000.00, ON THE TRUCK SURGING. NOW BECAUSE OF IT WE NOW HAVE TO HAVE A NEW REAR-END AND NEW LIFTS PUT IN. WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE NEW PLUG WIRES EVERY YEAR. THIS TRUCK IS TAKEN CARE OF OIL CHANGED EVERY 3000 MILES AND LOOKS BRAND NEW. WE ARE ON A LIMIT INCOME AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY A NEW TRUCK AND WOULD LIKE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS, WE LIKE THE TRUCK EXCEPT HAVING TO PUT IT IN FOR REPAIRS EVERY SPRING FOR THE SAME THING. *JB
FRAME ON A 1995 FORD 150 PICKUP WITH 75,550 MILES IS BROKEN IN TWO PLACES , APPROXIMATELY IN THE SAME AREAS ON EACH SIDE OF FRAME. THE BREAKS ARE LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT AXLE. DRIVER'S SIDE IS COMPLETELY CRACKED THROUGH THE FRAME RAIL. PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED AT SAME SPOT. *JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT RADIUS ARM BUSHING FAILED ON MY 1995 FORD F-150 RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF STEERING. THE VEHICLE HAD 74,900 MILES AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED AT COURTESY FORD IN SYRACUSE AT A COST OF 549.21. THE REASON I WAS GIVEN FOR THE FAILURE WAS ROT. I WAS ABOUT TO ENTER AN INTERSTATE AND HAD THIS FAILURE OCCURRED THEN IT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. SINCE THIS IS A ITEM THAT IS CRUCIAL TO SAFETY I FEEL THAT THIS ITEM SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. ALSO, WHEN BEING REPAIRED, THE DRIVER SIDE BRACKET WAS ALSO REPAIRED AS IT WAS ABOUT TO FAIL ALSO. *NLM
THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONSUMER STATED THAT IT FELT LIKE SOMEBODY HIT THE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK WITH A HAMMER AND THE BACK TIRES LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE HAD SLID ACROSS THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURE HAD BEEN CONTACTED VIA E-MAIL AND HAS NOT RESPONDED. TS SCC
DT: VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONSUMER'S HUSBAND PUT OUT THE FIRE BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. HE BURNED HIS HAND IN THE PROCESS. THE CONSUMER STILL HAS THE VEHICLE AND PICTURES OF IT. THE CONSUMER ONLY HAD LIABILITY INSURANCE ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS PAID OFF. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CLAIMED IT WAS ELECTRICAL WIRING, IT MELTED EVERYTHING, IT WAS MOSTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE AND NEVER DID. WHEN FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THEY FIXED THE CRUISE CONTROL THEN TWO DAYS BEFORE THE FIRE, THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. *AK *NM

GAS TANK IS RUSTED AND LEAKING FUEL. WHEN CONSUMER TRIES TO FILL VEHICLEE FUEL IT WILL JUST LEAK OUT. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *AK
CLUTCH WILL NOT COME OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE CLUTCH MASTER END SNAPPING OFF. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

FUEL TANK: AUXILLARY SELECTOR AND SWITCH: THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH DUAL FUEL TANKS. WHEN THE TRUCK IS RUNNING ON THE REAR TANK, AND THE FRONT TANK IS FULL, THE REAR TANK PUMPS FUEL INTO THE ALREADY FULL FRONT TANK, CAUSING IT TO OVERFLOW OUT OF THE FUEL CAP AND SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK ONTO TO THE GROUND. THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH DUAL FUEL TANKS. WHEN THE TRUCK IS RUNNING ON THE REAR TANK, AND THE FRONT TANK IS FULL, THE REAR TANK PUMPS FUEL INTO THE ALREADY FULL FRONT TANK, CAUSING IT TO OVERFLOW OUT OF THE FUEL CAP AND SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK ONTO TO THE GROUND. NOTICED OIL LEAK ON GARAGE FLOOR AFTER CHANGIN OIL...WENT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS TIGHT AND FOUND THE OIL PAN COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH AND 2 QUARTS HAD LEAKED OUT IN 1 WEEK. IF WE HAD BEEN DRIVING THIS AT THE TIME OF COMPLETE OIL LOSS IT COULD HAVE CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IT SEEMS WE AREN'T THE ONLY ONES WITH THIS PROBLEM. WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS IN THIS MATTER. AS WE AREN'T DRIVING THIS VEHICLE TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. *AK
CONTINENTAL, CONTITRAC RADIAL, P265/75R15, DOT AD9V-3CW 306, REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT WITH 20000 MILES ON A 1995 FORD F 150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE PASSENGER REAR TIRE HAD TREAD SEPARATION, CAUSING $ 1100.00 DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
WHILE IN REVERSE TIE ROD BROKE, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
EXPERIENCED SEPARATION OF 6/16" TO 7/16" DEPTH TREAD FROM 1 TIRE OF MATCHED SET GOING 75 MPH ON CLEAR DAY, CLEAR, SMOOTH HIGHWAY. VERY LUCK NO ONE WAS HURT. DID SOME DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. DROVE SLOWLY TO NEAREST TOWN AND REPLACED BOTH TIRES ON THAT AXLE. MECHANIC SAID IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. FEAR DEFECT(S) OF REMAINING TWO WRANGLER HT'S. NO RESPONSE FROM GOODYEAR. DON'T WANT TO SUE, BUT DO WANT DAMAGES RECTIFIED. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. THANKS!*AK
