WHILE QUESTIONING MECHANICS ABOUT COSTS ON A NEW MOTOR FOR MY F150 I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A 'SILENT' RECALL ON THIS ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE OIL LEAK PROBLEM. IS THIS TRUE? IT HAD ALWAYS LEAKED OIL AND WE KEPT IT FULL. TROUBLE SEEMED TO BE THE OIL WASN'T GETTING TO THE ENGINE BLOCK.*AK
VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR EIGHT HOURS WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE ON ITS OWN. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUTMECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
TEMPERATURE GAUGE STICKS MOST OF THE TIME, THEN IT UNSTICKS. ALSO CRUISE CONTROL WENT OUT. CONSUMER HAD THE WIRES CHECKED, MECHANIC DID NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. MECHANIC WANTED TO CHARGE HIM A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO HELP HIM.*AK *SLC
VEHICLE WAS SITTING AT THE STOP SIGN AT A INTERSECTION AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING ANOTHER VEHICLE VEERED INTO CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AIK
HYDRAULIC CLUTCH WAS BECOMING INCREASINGLY MORE DIFFICULT TO PRESS WITH HIS FOOT IN ORDER TO CHANGE GEARS. CONSUMER EXAMINED VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT A "SLAVE CYLINDER" FOR HYDRAULIC CLUTCH HAD FAILED ,RESULTING IN A LOSS OF FLUID IN THE CYLINDER. NOTE: ALSO, REPORTS OIL PAN IS RUSTING AND ALLOWING OIL TO LEAK. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / DOCUMENTATION.*AK
ABS SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE, AND DUE TO ABS SYSTEM ODOMETER OR SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY ONLY WAY TO DRIVE VEHICLE IS TO DISCONNECT ABS. BUT, THEN EVERYTHING ELSE WILL NOT WORK. *AK
REFERENCE TO RECALL #05V388000. APPROX 7 YEARS AGO THE HARNESS SHORTED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHEN STARTING UP SAW SMOKE AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL SHORT. OBSERVE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SHORTENING OUT OF THE CRUISE CONTROL WIRE HARNESS. THIS CAUSED THE CRUISE CONTROL (I.E. HORN, SPEED SETTINGS) NOT TO WORK. I CONTACT FORD WHO ADVISED THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS. A YEAR OR TWO LATER I SAW A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. AT THAT TIME REFUSED TO FIX THE WIRE HARNESS AND JUST UNPLUGGED THE ASSEMBLY. I CONTACTED NHTSA WHO ADVISED TO TRY AGAIN AND IF THEY DON'T FIX FILE A COMPLAINT. I TOOK TO FORD DEALER AGAIN WHO ADVISED THEY WILL NOT FIX EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CONNECTED TO THE ITEM THAT SHORTED OUT. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP. *TR
OIL PAN HAS A HOLE DUE TO RUST, CAUSING OIL TO LEAK OUT. THIS COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE FIRE.*AK CONSUMER WOULD LIKE HELP IN REPLACING THE OIL PAN. CONSUMER BELIEVES FORD KNOWS THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. *JG
FUEL IS BYPASSING FROM ONE TANK TO THE NEXT. THIS HAS CREATED OVERFLOW CONDITIONS IN ONE TANK, RESULTING IN A FUEL LEAK. CONSUMER HAS MADE NOTE OF A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, ONLY AFFECTING MODEL YEAR 1993. *AK
WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS. *AK UNSPECIFIED SHORT CIRCUIT ARC CONTRIBUTED TO THE IGNITION OF THE FIRE PER INSPECTION. *SC *JB
CHECK VALVE DAMAGED ALLOWING FUEL TO BE TRANSFERED FROM ONE TANK TO THE OTHER, OVERFILLING THE NON-OPERATING TANK, AND RESULTING IN FUEL OVERFLOW PAST THE FILLER CAP.*AK
SLOW LEAK FROM REAR GAS TANK. LOOKS LIKE IT IS FROM UNDER THE TANK STRAP. FUEL IS FIRE HAZARD AND HAS RUINED SPARE TIRE. *AK
AS I READ A LOT FROM THESE FORUMS, I AM FINDING OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM . I HAVE A 1995 FORD F 150 WITH A RUSTED OIL PAN AND IT IS STARTING TO LEAK OIL. I THINK THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MANY YEARS AND FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT . *LA

VEHICLE WAS PARKED/ENGINE OFF. VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN HILL, GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS STILL IN PARK. NO INJURIES, DAMAGE WAS $ 9700.00. *AK
GENERAL TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE, AND WIRES WERE STICKING OUT OF TIRES. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH FAILED. FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE SWITCH. THE SWITCH WAS OPENED AND UNGROUNDED. THE SEAL WAS PUSHED OUT OF THE WIRING CONNECTOR. CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK. *AK
AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY WHERE SPEED IS IN EXCESS OF 10MPH AND SEAT BELTS ARE USED AND BRAKES SHOULD NOT LOCK WHERE ABS IS EMPLOYED
ENGINE OIL PAN IS RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVID FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
SENSOR IN REAR GAS TANK IS BAD. GAS LEAKS OUT OF REAR TANK WERE SCREW IN NOZZLE IS LOCATED. THIS IS CAUSING A LARGE PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE TRUCK. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.*AK
ON ALL 1995 F-150 LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS THE FRONT END LOWER RUBBER BUSHINGS HAVE FAILED THREE TIMES. THE STEERING IS HORRIBLE WITH THIS DEFECT AND THE TIRES WEAR PREMATURELY CAUSING UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE FORD MECHANICS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO SAY THIS IS A COMMON DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND FORD KNOWS ABOUT IT AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. UPON SEPARATION OF THE LEFT FRONT FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE, A COMPLETE AND INSTANTANEOUS BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE SECONDARY BRAKE SYSTEM (REAR ABS DRUM BRAKES) WAS INEFFECTIVE EVEN THOUGH THE REAR HALF OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR WAS PROPERLY SERVICED. NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE PRIMARY BRAKE FAILURE TO INDICATE ANY PROBLEM EXISTED WITH THE SECONDARY (REAR) BRAKES. HOW CAN A MODERN DUAL BRAKE SYSTEM FAIL COMPLETELY WITH NO PRIOR INDICATION OF PROBLEMS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE AND STATED "IT WORKS FINE" BUT NO BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM COMPONENTS OR REAR BRAKE COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED.*AK
PE00 020; FOURTH TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO TREAD SEPARATING. FIRESTONE, FIREHAWK R4S.*AK
WHEN BOTH FUEL TANKS WERE PARTIALLY FULL FUEL WOULD OVERFLOW FROM ONE VALVE TO ANOTHER ,CAUSING FUEL SPILLAGE. MANUFACTURER HAS PREVIOUSLY ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN, BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THIS VIN. DEALER HAS REMEDY BUT ON CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM FOR PRE 1993 VEHICLES BUT NOT FOR 1995 ONES. *YH
THE OIL PAN IS COMPLETELY RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT MADE A HOLE RIGHT THROUGH THE STEEL, CAUSING THE OIL TO SEEP THROUGH. UPON CALLING THE FORD CO. LAST WEEK, I WAS TOLD BY THE REP. THAT THE RUST WAS COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE OIL PAN AND THAT IT WASN'T FORD'S PROBLEM. I THEN CALLED A FEW GARAGES AND THEY ALL TOLD ME THAT THEY'RE HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH CORRODED OIL PANS ON F150 PICKUPS AND THAT FORD DOES NOT WANT TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT FORD SHOULD BE COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH A MAJOR PROBLEM. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE WILL BE A RECALL. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN WITH A 6 YEAR OLD PICKUP WITH ONLY 58,000 MILES ON IT, ESPECIALLY WITH THE OIL PAN. AGAIN, THIS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IF IT'S NOT TAKEN CARE OF RIGHT AWAY. THANK YOU.*AK
PITMAN ARM CAME LOOSE ON STEERING GEAR, MAKING VEHICLE VIBRATE AND SHAKE WHILE DRIVING.*AK PITMAN ARM WAS LOOSE DUE TO SPLINES BEATEN OFF OF GEAR IN STEERING BOX, THE NUT WAS NOT LOOSE, GEAR WAS MADE OUT OF SOFT MATERIAL CAUSING PITMAN ARM TO BE LOOSE AND RATTLE. *SLC
REAR FUEL PUMP OVERFILLS THE FRONT FUEL TANK. MY MECHANIC INSTALLED AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMP AND PROBLEM REOCCURRED. HE THEN INSTALLED BOTH FRONT AND REAR FUEL PUMPS BOUGHT FROM FORD DEALERSHIP FOR MORE MONEY THEN I CARE TO ADMIT, SYSTEM WORKED GOOD FOR TWO MONTHES THE OVERFILLED FRONT TANK AGAIN. MY MECHANIC STATED THAT FORD HAD RECALLED THE FUEL TRANFER VALVE . HOWEVER THE DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE NOT ??? AT THIS TIME I DON'T DARE DRIVE THE TRUCK WIH ANY GAS IN THE FRONT TANK. *AK
ABS BRAKE FAILURE. *AK
WHILE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY STEERING GEAR BOX WENT OUT AND CONSUMER HAD TROUBLE KEEPING THE VEHICLE ON TRACK. CONSUMER STILL HAS STEERING GEAR BOX WITH HIM. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER KNEW ABOUT PROBLEM .*AK THE STEERING GEAR BOX WAS REPLACED WITH RE-MANUFACTURED GEAR BOX, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE VEHICLCE WAS UNSAFE ACCORDING TO THE CONSUMER. *YH
BOTTOM OF OIL TANK IS LEAKING DUE TO CORROSION. *AK
TIRE BLOWOUT; DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL @ APPROX. 60 MPH ON OPEN HIGHWAY. LEFT/REAR TIRE (DRIVER'S SIDE) SUDDENLY BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING OR PRIOR EVIDENCE OF POSSIBLE TIRE FAILURE. TREAD IS VERY MUCH SEPARATED AND SIDEWALLS, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE (AS RELATING TO TIRE PLACEMENT ON TRUCK) HAVE APPROX. 30-40 SLASHES IN THEM. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE TIRES SECTIONS (POSSIBLY BELTS?) JUST CAME APART AND THE TREAD PORTION OF THE TIRE CAME OFF. LIKE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, THE TIRE HAD SHOWN NO WARNING SIGNS OF POSSIBLE FAILURE, WAS NOT UNDERINFLATED, WAS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR CLOSE TO THE POINT OF HAVING INSUFFICIENT TREAD WEAR (STILL APPROX. 3/8" TREAD LEFT ON TIRE) OR DID NOT SHOW ANY SUPERFICIAL DAMAGE TO THE SIDEWALL OR TREAD. THE DAMAGE CAUSED TO MY VEHICLE HAS STILL YET TO BE PROPERLY EVALUATED AND OFFICIALLY DETERMINED, ALTHOUGH IT APPEARS THERE MAY BE SOME DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL ITSELF AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE HUB AND SUPENSION UNITS, NOT TO MENTION ALIGNMENT AND WHATEVER ELSE SHOWS UP IN THE DAMAGE EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT. *AK (TIRESIZE: 235/70 R15)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 235/70 R15 )
S/N ON TIRE M3ULBF7X4000, ENTIRE SIDE WALL FAILED CAUSING A BLOWOUT. I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WITH NO WEIGHT IN THE TRUCK. TIRES WERE PURCHASED ON 12/13/2000 AND ONLY HAD ABOUT 2000 MILES. SEVERAL LAYERS OF RUBBER SEPARATED ALLOWING FOR ONE SIDE OF THE TIRE TO BE COMPLETELY SEPERATED (YOU COULD PUT YOUR HAND INSIDE THE TIRE AND RUN IT ALL THE WAY AROUND). THE BROKEN RUBBER DID NOT SMELL BURNED. I RETURNED THE TIRE TO SAM'S CLUB IN VERNON HILLS, IL FOR REPLACEMENT, THEY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE TIRE, BUT REFUSED TO REPLACE THE OTHER TIRE. THEY ASSURED ME THAT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND THAT MICHELIN WOULD FULLY INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.*AK (DOT NUMBER: ? TIRESIZE: LT23575R15)
ALL FOUR FIRESTONE ATX TIRES SIZE: P265/75R15, DOT: W29VIN3424 ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF BLISTERING AND TREAD SEPARATION. THERE IS VIBRATION IN VEHICLE DURING NORMAL OPERATION. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES ON THESE TIRES, AND THEY ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON 1995, FORD, F150. *AK *SLC
WHEN PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY AT ABOUT 5 MPH GEARBOX LOCKED UP, WHEEL DID NOT TURN. *AK *SLC
STEERING PUMP STARTED GROWLING WHEN STEERING WAS CORRECTED DUE TO THE STEEL PART OF STEERING HOSES BEING RUSTED, AND ONE OF THEM HAD RUSTED THROUGH, CAUSING FLUID TO SPRAY OUT UNDER PRESSURE. THEREBY EMPTYING POWER STEERING RESERVOIR, AND CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. BRAKES REPAIRD DUE TO FAILURE.*AK
STRAPS THAT HOLD FUEL TANK ALLOW MOISTURE TO GET BETWEEN STRAPS AND TANK, CAUSING FUEL TANK TO RUST AND DEVELOP LEAKS.*AK
WHY DID IT FAIL FOR THE TRAILER HITCH BALL BEING ON? *AK
WHILE BACKING UP HIT THE BRAKES TO STOP AND THE BRAKE PADEL HAD NO PRESSURE, THREW SHIFTER INTO LOW AND HIT THE GAS TO AVOID GOING THROUGH THE GARAGE DOOR. THE BRAKE LINE RUSTED THRU, FLUID LEAKED OUT WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES CAUSING A LOSS OF PEDAL PRESSURE.
WHILE TRAVELING ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, CAUSING CONSUMER TO RUN OFF ROAD. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ANY TIME. *AK CONSUMER WAS HIT HEAD ON AND THEN ANOTHER TWO TIMES ON THE SIDE BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH, VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND 3 PEOPLE WERE INJURED. *SLC
I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY BACK WHEN THE OIL CHANGE PLACE TOLD ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM, THEN CALL FORD UP AND TALKED A REP. HE SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. BUT HE SAID HE WOULD CONTACT HILLER FORD (CLOSED DEALER TO ME) AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WITHIN A WEEK. I NEVER GOT A CALL. I FINALLY HAD TO BRING IT IN THIS WEEK AND GET IT REPLACED BY A PRIVATE GARAGE IN MILWAUKEE. (THE DEALER'S COST WAS WAY OUT OF LINE.). I'M NOT THRILLED BY FORD NOT GETTING BACK TO ME AND THIS JUST SHOWS WHAT THEY THINK OF THERE CUSTOMERS.I'M GOING TO BRING THE PART INTO WORK AND HAVE THE METAL ANYALIZED AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. NO SXAFETY DEFECT LISTED. *AK
AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP IN THE FRONT GAS TANK 2 YEARS AGO, THE FRONT GAS TANK BEGAN LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW , 2 YEARS LATER, THE REAR GAS TANK HAS BEGUN LEAKING AND THE GAS LEAKS ON TO THE EXHAUST PIPE.

WHILE HAVING TIRES CHECKED BY FIRESTONE TECHNICIAN NOTICE TREAD SEPARATION. .*AK ALL FIRESTONE ATX TIRES (P265 75 R15) WERE REPLACED. *SLC
THE REAR FEUL TANK IS LEAKING FUEL AT A VERY ALARMING RATE. EVEN AS IT IS EMPTY THE FRONT TANK WILL DRAIN INTO IT SO NOT USING THE REAR TANK AND ONLY USING THE FRONT WILL NOT HELP THE TANK LEAKS 24 HRS A DAY AND IS EVENTUALLY GOING TO CAUSE A FIRE. I ALSO WANT TO STATE THAT THE OIL PAN IS A FEW MONTHS AWAY FROM RUSTING THROUGH AND THAT IS ANOTHER ISSUE I WILL HAVE TO TAKE UP WITH FORD.*AK

FUEL IS LEAKING FROM REAR FUEL TANK. HAD A DEALERSHIP CONFIRM THIS. CONTACTED FORD AND RECEIVED NO HELP WHAT SO EVER. ITS MY PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION. BUT THIS IS MY LAST FORD PRODUCT. NEXT IS GOING TO BE A TOYOTA. *AK
