CONSUMER STATES THAT THE LOCATION OFF THE SPARE TIRE, IS CAUSING THE TIRE TO HAVE GROVES IN THE SIDE WALL, WITHOUT IT BEING USED OR REMOVE. CAUSE IT TIGHTEN SO SEVERELY. SIZE LT24575R16. ORGINIAL EQUIPMENT. TS
WHILE PULLING INSIDE OF A PARKING LOT AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. HIS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE ACELERATED. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM. TS
WHILE FOLLOWING OTHER VEHICLES, THEY STOPPED FOR A TURNING CAR AND WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES NOTHING HAPPENED. I WAS PRACTICALLY STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH NO RESULTS. MY TRUCK PLOWED INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER TRUCK WHICH THEN HIT A THIRD VEHICLE. I WAS INJURED AND THE TRUCK I HIT WAS TOTALLED. DT
THE TOP OF THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW IS LEAKING INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. THIS LEAK HAS CAUSED A MOLD AND MILDEW PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SEAT AND THE CARPET TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE EXTENDED CAB. THE SMELL FROM THE MOLD IS AT TIMES UNBEARABLE, AS WELL AS UNHEALTHY. *LA
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AND NO WARNING THE REAR WINDSHIELD HAD CRACK STARTING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE BOTTOM ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD AND DURING RAINY WEATHER WATER CAN LINK INTO THE VEHICLE. DEALER NOTIFIED. MR
CONSUMER STATES' WHEN DOOR IS SHUT, COMPUTER REGISTERS THAT DOOR IS OPEN. CONSUMER STATES AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATES FOR NO REASON. THE REFLECTION OF LIGHT ON WINDSHIELD EFFECTS CONSUMERS VISION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
SIDE MIRRORS WITH TURN SIGNALS BUILT INTO MIRRORS HAVE TURNED BLACK AND SPOTTY. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO ONLY EXIST ON THE MIRRORS WITH THE TURN SIGNALS BUILT INTO THE MIRROR, AND FORD NO LONGER SELLS THESE VEHICLES IN THE F150 THIS WAY. *NLM
CONSUMER STATES THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE CABLE BROKE FROM THE CONNECTOR, WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. NLM
SHORT IN CRUISE CONTROL/TURN SIGNAL LEVER, CAUSED TURN SIGNAL TO NOT WORK. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE TURN SIGNAL WORK INTERMITTENTLY NOW. I HAVE TO JIGGLE THE LEVER OR ADJUST THE TILT ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO TRY TO GET IT TO OPERATE. IT FIRST FAILED IN SEPT. OF 2002, I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED AND NOW IT HAS FAILED AGAIN ON NOV. 2004, AND IS STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
CONSUMER STATES THE CIRCUIT BOARD ON THE VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO STOP WORKING. CONTACTED DEALER AND THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NO REMEMDY. *JB *YH

WE PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IN OCT 1999 NEW, WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR THE BRAKE PROBLEM. IT FIRST STARTED OUT WITH THE BRAKES LOCKING UP WHEN IT WAS DAMP OUT, THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AT THAT TIME .THE NEXT TIME THEY SAID IT WAS THE AXEL SEAL LEAKING. ON JULY 11, 02 THEY SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE SHOES , WHICH WITH ONLY 35838 MILES ON THE TRUCK HOW COULD THAT BE .THE BRAKE SHOES WAS REPLACED AT THAT TIME. NOW TODAY I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BACK REAR BRAKE STARTED GROWLING, SO I STOPPED TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS , I REMOVED THE BACK TIRE AND REMOVED BACK HUB AND FOUND PIN TO WHEEL CYLINDER LAYING IN THE HUB. I CALLED A WRECKER TO COME AND GET ME AND MY TRUCK , WENT TO DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND STAYED THERE JUST ABOUT ALL DAY .THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HEARING MY COMPLAINT.*AK
THE LEFT DRIVERS DOOR EXHIBITS A (STRESS?) CRACK APPROX. 1/4 IN. LONG LOCATED AT THE EXTERIOR RADIUS WHERE THE DOOR PANEL MEETS THE GLASS OF THE SIDE WINDOW AT AN AREA CLOSEST TO THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE. SUBJECT CRACK RUNS HORIZONTALLY FOR APPROX. 1/4 INCH. DEALER STATES THIS CRACK CAN CONTINUE TO PROPAGATE IF NOT REPAIRED. VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY SAYS THEY WILL NOT PAY TO REPAIR UNLESS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE IF THE CRACK IS ALLOWED TO PROPAGATE AT SOME POINT THIS BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE AS DOOR STRUCTURE WILL LOSE ITS STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. APPARENTLY THIS PROBLEM HAS SURFACED OFTEN ENOUGH THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS DEVELOPED A REPAIR PROCEDURE/KIT TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. WHILE BACKING OUT CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM FRONT END. DEALER DETERMINED TIE ROD END HAD BROKEN ON DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT 30 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED HIS PATH AND CONSUMER SLAMMED INTO THE REAR. CONSUMER STATES THAT NONE OF THE VEHICLES AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *MR
P255/75R17, WHILE DRIVING 60MPH TIRES EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION.*AK CONSUMER REPLACED 2 OF THE TIRES DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION, DOT NUMBER AD9C448, FOR BOTH TIRES, CONTINENTAL TIRES. *SLC
PASSENGER SIDE REAR CYLINDER SPARK PLUG MOUNT STRIPPED AND BLEW THE SPARK PLUG OUT CAUSING ENGINE DAMAGE. DEALER TOLD ME THE HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED $$$$. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY INFORMATION ON THE PROBLEM I HAD. THEY FORWARDED THE COMPLAINT ON TO THEIR ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND I HAVE ASKED FOR AN ARBITRATION PACKAGE FOR THE 'DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD'. SAME PROBLEM AS OID ID: 760618
WHILE DRIVING 10MPH METAL HOIST THAT HOLDS SPARE TIRE BROKE OFF.*AK
SEAL FAILER AT 75 MPH CAUSED THE OVERRIVE TO FAIL, CAUSING TRANSMISSION BANDS TO FAIL. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY POLICY, HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THEY FEEL THE TRANSMISSION WAS DELIBERATELY RUN WITH OUT FLUID. THE REAR SEAL FAILED, CAUSING THE REAR HOUSING TO ALSO FAIL. THIS ALL HAPPENED UNKNOWINGLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD OBVIOSLY BE RUN LOW ON FLUID WHEN THE REAR SEAL COMPLETELY BLOWS OUT OF IT SEAT. I AM HOPING THAT YOU WILL DO WHATS RIGHT AND HELP ME GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED BY INFORMING MY EXTENDED WARRANTEE PROVIDER THAT THIS INSIDENT WAS UNAVOIDABLE. THANK YOU.*AK
VEHICLE WILL VIBRATE HEAVILY DUE TO BUBBLES IN TIRES, DUNLOP TIRES SIZE 28575R16. *AK *YH
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL AND LANDED IN A DITCH. HE NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM THE HOOD AND HE EXITED THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND FILED A REPORT. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, CONSUMER TURNED ON CRUISE CONTROL AND WHEN TRYING TO TURN IT OFF, VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED, VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN CRUISE CONTROL. CONTACTED DEALER WHO WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK CONSUMER TURNED OFF IGNITION TO SEE IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD SHUT OFF, WHEN TURNING IGNITION BACK ON, THE MOTOR RACED UP TO 60 MPH AGAIN. *SLC

LIFT ASSEMBLY STEEL CABLE SHEARED WHERE IT MEETS COMPRESSION MOLDED RETAINER. WHEN THE CABLE SHEARED IT ALLOWED SEVERAL PIECES OF THE ASSEMBLY AND THE SPARE TIRE TO DROP TO THE PAVEMENT. HAD I BEEN ON A ROAD OR HIGHWAY WHEN THE TIRE FELL, IT MAY HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED FORD PART# FMC2L3Z1A131AA AS THE REPLACEMENT. THIS FORD RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY IS A REENGINEERED AND HIGHLY MODIFIED REPLACEMENT COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL. THE FORD PARTS PERSON INDICATED THAT THIS COMPONENT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO FAIL ON LATE MODEL F-SERIES TRUCKS, EXPENDITIONS AND NAVIGATORS.*AK

I HAVE A 1999 F-150 THAT HAS 52,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS A CRACK IN THE OUTER DOOR SKIN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.
THE RUBBER STEEL CORD BONDING WAS WEAK, WHICH RESULTED IN A TIRE BLOWOUT.*DT *JB
CABLE WHICH HOLDS SPARE TIRE HAS BROKEN AND CAUSED LOSS OF EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE. MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYES ON AND THE DOME LIGHT AND CARGO LIGHTS STAY ON FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. *AK
THE TRUCK WAS STARTED, WHEN PUT IN DRIVE, THE TRUCK WENT INTO FULL ACCELERATION. BRAKES WERE APPLIED, BUT WERE NOT EFFECTIVE. TRUCK WAS STILL ACCELERATING. THEN TURNED OFF THE KEY, TO STOP ENGINE. THE ENGINE DID NOT STOP RUNNING FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS WAS A TERRIFING EXPERIENCE. IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN TOWN, OR ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, YES SOMEBODY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
I STARTED HAVEING WARPED BRAKES AROUND 13,000 MILES THIS TRUCK WENT THROUGH 4 BRAKE JOBS I ASKED THE LAST TIME TO SPEAK WITH A FIELD REPRESENTATIVE, BUT WAS DENIED. IN LESS THEN 500 MILES AFTER LAST BREAK JOB I COMPLINED TO THE DEALER THAT SOMETHING WAS LOOSE THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG I WAS PULLING MY BOAT HOME FROM STORAGE DRIVING AROUN 55 MILES AN HOUR I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN FOR RAILROAD TRACKS AND THE LEFT FRONT TIRE LOCKED UP PULLING THE TRUCK ACROSS THE ONCOMMING LANE THEN INTO THE ONCOMMING LANES DITCH WHERE THE TRUCK STOPED 6" FROM A TELEPHONE POLE. I CALLED THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED FOR A FORD FIELD ENGINEER TO EXAMINE MY TRUCK. HE SAID HE WOULD GET BACK WITH ME BUT HAS NOT I HAVE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER HOTLINE FOR HELP AND THEY SAID I CAN NOT TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY CAN'T GET A FIELD ENGINEER TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY HAVE MADE NO ATEMPT TO FIX MY TRUCK . IT KNOW SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY WITHT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL LOCKED UP AND METAL SHAVINGS ALL OVER THE LEFT FRONT RHIM. FORD HAS MADE NO ATEMPT TO FIX IT*AK
EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRRORS ON MY 1999 F-150 LARIAT PURCHASED NEW HAVE EFFECTIVELY COMPLETELY DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT THEY ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL. IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT BASED ON MY AND THE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ON MY TRUCK HAS CRACKED FOR THE SECOND TIME. I KNOW OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD SAID THEY WONT REPLACE IT AND I DONT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE A DOOR FOR THE SEND TIME IN 3 YEARS WHEN I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE BODY SHOP MANAGER THE FIRST TIME I HAD THE DOOR REPLACED THAT IN ALL LIKELYHOOD THE DOOR THEY JUST PUT ON WILL BREAK AGAIN. I WANT HELP BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES IT DECREASE THE VALUE OF MY TRUCK THAT IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD BUT THE SAFTY OF IT BECAUSE I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT IF NOT FIXED THE WELD WILL COMPLETLY BREAK. IF YOU NEED OTHER INSTANCES OF THE SAME THING HAPPING TO OTHERS GO TO F150.COM THERE ARE POST THERE OF THE SAME COMPLAINT. AND THERE ARE MORE OUT THERE NO EVEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THERE WERE 4 PEOPLE I WORK WITH THAT HAD BROKEN DOORS THAT THEY DIDNT KNOW ABOUT TILL I SHOWED THEM. SO PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN. *AK
