I PURCHASED A 2002 FORD TAURUS SES ON JULY 31,2005. HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A LOUD SOUND WHEN DRIVING LIKE THE WHEEL IS WOBBLING, AND THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO DRIFT SUDDENLY ALMOST CAUSING A ACCIDENT. I'VE BEEN ALSO EXPERIENCING A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE VENTS IN THE VEHICLES WHEN THE HEAT WAS NOT IN USE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING 60MPH THE NUMBER THREE SPARK PLUG CAME OUT OF THE HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME. AFTER TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DETERMINED THE HEAD WAS NOT ABLE TO HOLD THE SPARK PLUG IN PLACE. THE HEAD, COIL FOR THE SPARK PLUG AND THE GASKETS NEED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HIS FORD TRUCK F-150 AND SUDDENLY CRASHED INTO A TREE. HE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURY AND STILL IN THE HOSPITAL HE WAS IN CRITICAL CONDITION FOR TWO DAYS AND HE WILL BE DISABLE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED LAST WEEK ON MARCH 4,2006.*JB

DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, LOOP 375 EL PASO TEXAS, WE HEARD A LOUD BANG. WE THOUGHT WE HAD A TIRE BLOWOUT. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO DISCOVER FOR THE SECOND TIME A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ENGINE MADE A POPPING NOISE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT FOUND A SPARK PLUG ON THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE ENGINE HEAD. A NEW ENGINE HEAD WAS INSTALLED. UPDATED 03/09/06. *JB
DT*: THE CONSUMER STATED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND RADIO WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THE DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE WIPERS AND THE RADIO COME ON FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN STOP WORKING. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WITH THE SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *JB
2002 F 150 V 4.2L V6 ENGINE. 83000 MILES HAS DEFECTIVE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET THAT CAN CAUSE LEAK OF COOLANT INTO CYLINDERS CAUSING ENGINE TO BLOW UP POSSIBLY CAUSING CAR TO BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. FORD HAS NO PLANS DESPITE RECEIVING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. *JB

CRASH, FRONT IMPACT, 2002 FORD F150 PICK-UP, 4 DOOR, CREW CAB, LARIT. VECHILE WAS TOTAL LOSS. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS WAS THE ONLY ACCIDENT THIS VECHILE WAS INVOLVED IN. INJURIES. *NM
ON 12-29-2005 HEARD TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE OF 2002 FORD F-150 HARLEY DAVIDSON. AFTER ACCELERATING FROM INTERSECTION NEAR HOME, I HEARD A LARGE BANG AND TRUCK LOST POWER. IMMEDIATELY PULLED TRUCK OVER AND HAD IT AAA TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. FORD DIAGNOSED THE TRUCK AND ACCORDING TO THE FORD SERVICE ADVISOR, #6 SPARK PLUG BLEW, CAUSING DAMAGE TO LEFT CYLINDER HEAD. APPROXIMATE DAMAGE REPAIR $3800.00. TRUCK ONLY HAD 57,000 MILES. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE CABLE HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE SNAPPED. THE TIRE BOUNCED ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *AK UPDATED 1/19/2006 - THE CONSUMER HAS THE FAILED CABLE IN HIS POSSESSION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO DAMAGE. *NM

ENGINE SPARK PLUG BLOWN FROM ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEAD. VEHICLE DISABLED BY DAMAGE. REPAIR COST $2481.38 TO OWNER. INFORMATION COMMONLY AVAILABLE SHOWS THIS TO BE RECURRING PROBLEM THAT FORD WILL COVER ONLY WITH VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. PROBLEM NOT RESTRICTED TO AGE OF ENGINE. *JB
MANUFACTURER USES FAULTY ELECTRONIC COMPONENT IN VEHICLE IGNITION SYSTEM. NO PART OF SYSTEM PROVIDES FOR INDICATION OF POTENTIAL FAILURE OR COMPLETE FAILURE. ONCE PART FAILS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES RANDOM MISFIRING IN CYCLINDER WHICH CAUSES DAMAGE TO SPARK PLUG THREADS OF ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEAD. EVENTUALLY SPARK PLUG IS BLOWN FROM CYCLINDER HEAD RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER AND FUNCTION. RESULTING DAMAGE TO ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEAD REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AT COST OF @ $3,000. REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE IDENTICAL TO FAILED PARTS AND POTENTIAL REPEAT FAILURES CONTINUE. NO CORRECTIVE ACTION TO PARTS HAS BEEN REPORTED AND NO IMPROVEMENTS TO VEHICLE SENSING SYSTEM HAVE BEEN MADE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY DISCLAIMS ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES EXCEPT THOSE COVERED UNDER INITIAL VEHICLE WARRANTY OR THOSE COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. 2002 FORD F-150 TRAVELING WEST ON HIGHWAY 40 IN ARIZONA. RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED ON THE CRUISE CONTROL INITIAL FAILURE CRUISE CONTROL ON. ENGAGED MAINTAIN SPEED BUTTON VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING. PUNCHED ALL OF THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS AND TAPPED THE BRAKES CRUISE CONTROL TURNED OFF. CONFIRMATION TURNED CRUISE CONTROL ON AND HIT MAINTAIN SPEED BUTTON. VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING AS BEFORE. HIT ALL OF THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS AND TAPPED THE BRAKE. AT 85 MPH, I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. IMMEDIATELY TURNED IGNITION ON. CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVE, MOTOR RACED, BUT TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL. SHIFTER WAS IN DRIVE. TURNED OFF IGNITION AGAIN AND CRUISED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. STARTED VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED WITHOUT USING CRUISE CONTROL RECOMMENDATION TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL UNLESS THE OPERATOR PLACES THE SHIFT LEVER IN NEUTRAL. PREVIOUSLY OWNED FORDS FROM THE 60S, 70S, 80S, AND EARLY 90S DO NOT DISENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED OFF. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE CLUTCH WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED REPAIR SHOP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE ENGINE LOST A CYLINDER AND FLUID LEAKED OUT INTO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. *AK
2002 FORD F150 SVT LIGHTNING 5.4L ENGINE WITH ONLY 30,121 MILES ON IT BLEW UP ON DYNO METER ON 12-1-05 AT ONLY 3300 RPM'S. LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT SAYS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TOO BAD. ESTIMATE FOR NEW ENGINE IS $5300 PLUS TAX, ETC, INSTALLATION ADDS UP TO A TOTAL OF $9,300 WHICH I DON'T HAVE. I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS TRUCK TOO. I HAVE READ 32 COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE TONIGHT REGARDING THE SPARK PLUGS EJECTING AND CAUSING ENGINE DAMAGE (A ROD WAS THROWN IN THIS CASE). THANK GOODNESS I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY WITH IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES NHTSA NEED TO GET BEFORE THEY MAKE FORD RECALL AND FIX THESE ENGINES THAT ONLY HAVE 4 THREADS ON THE SPARK PLUGS??? HOPEFULLY BEFORE ANYONE IS KILLED AS A RESULT. MAYBE MORE PEOPLE SHOULD JOIN THE CALIFORNIA LAW FIRM'S LAWSUIT ON BEHALF OF 9 PEOPLE THAT YOU LIST ON YOUR "DEFECT INVESTIGATIONS" PAGE. *JB
2002 F-150, 5.4L - 56,000 MILES ON TRUCK. SPARK PLUG EJECTED FROM CYLINDER HEAD. HEARD LOUD POP - EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER - PULLED OVER - GOT TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER DIAGNOSED PROBLEM - SAID CYLINDER HEAD WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED - ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED FOR FIX - ESTIMATE OF OVER $3,000 - WOULD NOT DO ANY KIND OF INSERT (HELICOIL) FIX. CALLED AND COMPLAINED WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE - DEALER AGREED TO GIVE ME 10% DISCOUNT - STILL COST ME OVER $3,100 PLUS TOWING AND RENTAL VEHICLE. PLUGS WERE ORIGINAL FROM FACTORY - HAD NEVER BEEN TOUCHED. HAD BEEN HEARING A SLIGHT TICKING NOISE FOR A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO INCIDENT. INTERNET RESEARCH HAS REVEALED SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS TYPE FOR F-150, F-250, EXPEDITION FROM 1999-2002. CYLINDER HEADS REPORTED TO HAVE ONLY 4 THREADS FOR PLUG. APPARENTLY FORD CHANGED CYLINDER HEAD IN 2003 TO AN 8-THREAD PLUG DESIGN.*JB

TRANSMISSION TAKES 3-5 SECONDS TO GO INTO REVERSE THIS IN ITS SELF DANGEROUS WHEN NEEDING A QUICK REVERSE. 2002 FORD F-150 5.4 LITER ENGINE 66,XXX MILES DRIVING ON CITY STREET, APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, 3RD SPARK PLUG ON PASSENGER SIDE BLEW OUT TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP, HELI COIL INSERT INSTALLED NO OLD PART AVAILABLE. *NM
WHILE PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I WAS TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN I HEARD SOMETHING SNAP IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THEN I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN COMPLETELY AROUND AND THERE WAS NO CONTROL OF THE FRONT WHEELS. AFTER TAKING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THEY REPLACED THE UPPER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY, THE STEERING SHAFT, AND REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS COST A TOTAL OF $810.16. I WAS ON MY WAY OUT OF TOWN THAT DAY AND WAS HEADING FOR THE INTERSTATE. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT GOING 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHY THIS HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 3 YRS OLD AND HAS 63,878 MILES ON IT. *NM
RIGHT BEFORE THE FAILURE I WAS SITTING AT A STOP SIGN. AS I BEGAN PULLING A WAY I HEARD A SINGLE LOUD POPPING SOUND FOLLOWED BY A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND POPPING AND TICKING. I STOPPED THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY -- I NEVER MADE IT OUT ONTO THE CROSS STREET. THE PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD --BLOWN PLUG. FORD HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE HEAD FOR A COST OF $3900.00. *JB
APRIL 2005 2002 F-150 FORD TRUCK ENGINE FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. #3 CYLINDER SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF CYLINDER CAUSING EMERGENCY EXIT FROM FAST LANE ON HWY 81. SECOND INCIDENT SAME CYLINDER NOVEMBER 2. AFTER RESEARCHING FORD FORUMS ON THE INTERNET FOUND THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE FORD TRITON 5.4 LITER V8 MOTORS. FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS CONTACTED - NO ASSISTANCE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AS WELL AS LIVES. FORD HAS REFUSED TO RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE AND WILL LEND NO CONSUMER ASSISTANCE. A FORCED RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED. FAILURE IS DUE TO INSUFFICIENT THREADING OF MACHINED ALUMINUM HEAD ON ALL TRITON 5.4 LITER V8S. ESTIMATED REPAIRS IN EXCESS OF $300 EACH OCCURRENCE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THIS IS NOT A WEAR/TEAR COMPONENT OF ANY VEHICLE. IT IS AN INTEGRAL PART AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD AT ANY COST. *NM

WATER LEAKS THROUGH LEFT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD CAUSING FUSE BOX TO SHORT OUT, WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND RADIO STOP WORKING, VERY DANGEROUS. FORD IS AWARE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO FIX. *NM

DT: CONTACT STATES HIS CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS AND HIT A MAN PINNING HIM BETWEEN TWO TRUCKS. THE CAR WAS LOCKED AND PARKED AT THE TIME. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED BEYOND THE SET SPEED. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND COASTED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS DEACTIVATED, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL 05V388000, REGARDING THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE RECALL WORK WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE RECALL REMEDY ADVISOR URGED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH DISCONNECTED OR REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE RECALL REMEDY SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE REPLACEMENT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. *AK

THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND CONTINUED TO POP VERY LOUD. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. I KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, BECAUSE MY BROTHERS 2001, F150, 5.4L, V8, FORD PICKUP, MILEAGE APROX.103000 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAS A NEW HEAD WITH 8 THREADS INSTEAD OF 4, BUT CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILURE. MY TRUCK IS A THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT IS COVERING THE REPLACEMENT OF "ONE" HEAD. I AM PAYING FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE OTHER HEAD. I THINK IT IS TOTALLY WRONG TO REPLACE ONLY ONE HEAD WHEN THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME DEFECT!!*JB

ENGINE ON MY 2002 FORD F150 WITH 88,000 MILES BLEW A SPARK PLUG WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. CAUSING APPROXIMATELY $2,900 WORTH OF DAMAGE. VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND TOWED TO THE CLOSEST REPAIR FACILITY. MECHANIC SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD F150 TRITON V8 ENGINES THAT FORD WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE.*JB

ABS SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED CODE REPORTED BY SERVICE TECH WAS C-10-95 AND STATED THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. FAILURE OCCURRED AT ONLY 17,500 MILE ON THE UNIT. *JB

IT MADE A LARGE BANG THEN A THUMPING NOISE AND LOSS OF POWER TO ENGINE SO I HURRIED AND PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. TRIED TO PUT SPARK PLUG BACK IN. IT STAYED IN FOR A FEW DAYS AND BLEW OUT AGAIN. IT WILL NOT STAY IN. THE COST OF REPAIRS COULD REACH $2000.00 EASILY. IF SOMEONE WAS NEAR THE ENGINE WHEN IT WENT OFF IT MIGHT OF KILLED THEM. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I LOOKED UP ON THE INTERNET TO FIND A WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THESE ENGINES. *JB
ON SEPT 22,2005 MY 2002 FORD F150 BURST INTO FLAMES IN MY CARPORT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. MY DAUGHTER CAME HOME AND WOKE ME JUST IN TIME TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE BEFORE THE ENTIRE HOUSE BURNED. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER THE FIRE. THE FIRE WAS WITNESSED TO START IN MY TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS SO SEVERELY BURNED THAT SEVERAL INVESTIGATORS REPORTED THIS WAS TYPICAL OF WHAT THEY WHERE EXPERIENCING WITH FORD FIRES ALTHOUGH FORD'S INVESTIGATORS REPORTED THE CRUISE SWITCH WAS PROPERLY FUNCTIONING ACCORDING TO AN X-RAY OF THE PART. HOW THE PART COULD BE FOUND IS A MYSTERY SINCE THE TRUCK WAS SO DAMAGED. FORD IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING. WE LOST EVERYTHING WE OWNED. *JB

AFTER RAINING 4X4 INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHES , WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND RADIO SHUT ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. *NM
WE NOTICED A SLIGHT RUBBING WHEN VEHICLE WAS TURNING TO RIGHT WHILE ON VACATION. WITHIN 2 DAYS IT BECAME WORSE, THE THUMPING AND RUBBING SOUND WERE VERY LOUD AND FELT IN THE CAR. WE OPTED TO LEAVE THE CAR. LUCKILY WE DID, AS THE REPAIR SHOP INFORMED US THAT THE WHEEL BEARING WAS COMPLETELY CRACKED, AND NOTED THIS IS NOT COMMON. WE WERE TOLD THAT HAD WE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME, THE WHEEL WOULD HAVE FALLEN OFF ON THE HIGHWAY, AS IT WAS EXTREMELY LOOSE. THIS IN TURN DAMAGED OUR BACK BRAKES, RESULTING IN NEW ROTORS AND PADS, AND THE SHOP WAS UNABLE TO GET THE EMERGENCY BRAKES BACK ON AS THEY WERE RUSTED ON THE CAR. *NM
SPARK PLUGS BLOWN OUT OF CYLINDER HEAD WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE DESERT. THE FRONT AND REAR SPARK PLUG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE ENGINE BLEW OUT WITHIN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. I WAS DIVING TO OREGON EARLY FRIDAY MORNING WHEN THE REAR SPARK PLUG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE ENGINE BLEW OUT. I WAS STUCK IN THE DESERT FOR 9 HOURS. CALLED AAA AND WAS TOWED BACK TO WINNEMUCCA ON FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE LABOR DAY WEEKEND. NO REPAIR FACILITIES AVAILABLE BUT THE TOW YARD GUY HAD SOME JB WELD. I PUT SOME ON THE THREADS OF THE SPARK PLUG AND SCREWED IT BACK INTO WHAT LITTLE THREADS REMAINED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT WORK THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY MORNING. I LET THE JB WELD SET FOR 5 HOURS. WHEN I LEFT WINNEMUCCA IT WAS 1:30 AM SATURDAY. I DROVE FROM WINNEMUCCA NEVADA TO AUBURN CALIFORNIA , NEARLY 270 MILES WHEN I BLEW ANOTHER SPARK PLUG THIS TIME THE FRONT ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THEN I HAD TO BE TOWED TO SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA. OBVIOUSLY I MISSED WORK THAT SATURDAY, BUT MY BOSS WAS KIND ENOUGH TO RESCHEDULE THE WORK FOR SUNDAY. THE FACT THAT THE SPARK PLUG THAT HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED (THE FRONT PLUG) BLEW OUT WHILE THE REPAIRED ONE DID NOT BLOW OUT TELLS ME THAT ALL OF MY SPARK PLUGS ARE PROBABLY HANGING ON BY A THREAD. IF I DID NOT HAVE A CELLULAR PHONE WITH SERVICE WHEN THE FIRST PLUG BLEW OUT, I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE MADE IT OUT OF THAT DESERT 70 MILES NORTH OF WINNEMUCCA ON I-80. THERE IS NOTHING OUT THERE. NOTHING. NO PHONE, NO WATER, NO PEOPLE, EXCEPT FOR THE BIG TRUCKS THAT BLOW BY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AT 90 MPH WHILE YOUR TRYING TO FIX YOUR P-O-S BROKEN DOWN 2002 FORD F-150 LIGHTNING ON THE SIDE OF A 2 LANE HIGHWAY. *NM

I WAS ADVISED BY FORD IN SEPTEMBER 2005 THAT MY 2002 F-150 TRUCK WAS INVOLVED IN THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH RECALL AND INSTRUCTED TO REPORT TO MY DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE WHICH I DID. MY CRUISE CONTROL WAS DISABLED (WIRE CUT) BY THE DEALER AND TOLD THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY NOVEMBER 2005. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2006 AND THE DEALER REPORTS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PART WILL BE AVAILABE (FORD SAYS IT MAY BE FEBRUARY). MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I AM SUFFERING A LOSS OF USE BENIFIT FROM FORD'S DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIVE (5) MONTHS AND COUNTING AND THIS IS NOT FAIR OR RIGHT! *NM
