ON 2002 FORD F-150 DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS RANDOMLY COME UNBUCKLED AND ANY GIVEN TIME.
MY FIANCE AND I HAD TO PLACE ARE FULL SIZE SPARE ON THAT CAME WITH TRUCK IT WAS BRAND NEW WE HAD NO CHOICE BC THIS WAS FRIDAY EVENING AND OUT LOCAL TIRE SHOP WAS CLOSED TELL TODAY (MONDAY) YESTERDAY WE DROVE 7 MILE TO COLLINSVILE TO CHANGE BRAKES AFTER WE FINISH WE LOAD OUR 3 KIDS AND BEFAN TO HIDE HOME ANOTHER 3 MILES FROM HOME WE NOTICE THE TRUCK SHAKING THEN WE HEARD LOAD POP AND TAIL OF THE TRUCK LOST CONTROL FOR ABOUT 2 SECOND ONCE WE GOT CONTROL BACK WE PULLED TO SAFETY TO ONLY SEE THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE BED CRACKED TORE AND SHATTERED. EVEN THE HOSE WHERE U FUEL U TRUCK UP AT HAD BEEN DAMAGETTING WHEN WE CONTINUED TO EXAMINE THE TIRE IT WASN'T BLOWN AND IT'S STILL HOLDING AIR. BUT PLZ EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE ENTIRE CENTER SECTION OF TREAD RIPPED OFF FOR NO REASON AND NOT ONLY PUT MY CHILDREN IN DANGER BUT DAMAGED MY TRUCK TO A SEVERE EXTENT ? IT'S A FULL SIE HERCULES TERRAIN TRAC SIZE 16 HAD NOTHING WRONG WITH IT TELL NOW.
MY TRUCK FRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH JUST BEHIND THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL! THIS IS A 2002 FORD F150 SUPERCAB THAT HAS ONLY 75500 MILES ON IT. THE FRAME BROKE JUST AFTER I LEFT THE INTERSTATE AND DROVE TO MY SON'S HOUSE. I INSPECTED THE TRUCK AND SAW THE BREAK IN THE FRAME AS I DESCRIBED. A PICTURE IS ATTACHED. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO HAVE WRECKED ON THE INTERSTATE! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH FORD THAT THE CHASSIS RUSTS THROUGH LIKE THIS!!! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH FORD?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CABLE THAT HELD THE SPARE TIRE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE RUSTED AND DETACHED, CAUSING THE SPARE TIRE TO DROP FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND PICKED UP THE TIRE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150 EQUIPPED WITH CAPITOL PRECISION TRAC II TIRES, SIZE: 265/70/R16 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BLOWOUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FENDER WELL. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000, AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING AT A LIGHT, ETC, THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL DISENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING.
GOT HOME FROM WORK PARKED MY VEHICLE IN MY CARPORT AVAILABLE SPACE IN MY APARTMENT. TURN OFF THE TRUCK COMPLETELY, NOTHING LEFT ON OR ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS TO CAUSE A INCIDENT. WHEN TO MY APARTMENT UNIT TOOK A SHOWER AND NOT MORE THAN 20-30MINS WAS ALARMED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS CAUGHT ON FIRE. I IMMEDIATELY RAN OUTSIDE TO THE CARPORT SAW THE ENGINE ON FIRE, TRIED TO STOP IT WITH ANYTHING THAT I COULD FIND (WATER HOLES) OR EXTINGUISHER. MY NEIGHBORS CALLED 911 AS I SAW THE FLAMES GETTING HIGHER AND STRONGER THE FIRE MOVED INTO MY DAUGHTERS VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARKED NEXT TO OUR OTHER CARPORT SPACE AND CAUGHT ON FIRE AS WELL. OVERALL, THERE ARE TWO VEHICLES COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THERE WAS ALSO TWO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED THAT HAVE SOME BURNING DAMAGES. AS WELL AS PROPERTY DAMAGES INTO OUR AVAILABLE PARKING SPACES. SOME WINDOWS FROM THE LOWER APARTMENTS WERE CRACKED. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED INTO MY PARKING PORT, NOT IN MOTION BUT TURNED OFF COMPLETELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED RANDOMLY. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE DEALER (SIMI VALLEY FORD, 2440 1ST ST, SIMI VALLEY, CA 93065) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ATTACHED TO THE VIN AND, WITH THE VEHICLE BEING A DIFFERENT YEAR THAN WHAT WAS IN THE RECALL, THE FAILURE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET AT A COST OF $700. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE THROUGH EMAIL. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUG EJECTED OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. MCMAGHN FORD DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO HAVE A NEW CYLINDER HEAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
BOTH FRONT SEATBELTS (DRIVER AND PASSENGER) RANDOMLY DISENGAGE EITHER WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING MOTIONLESS. VERY UNSAFE!
SPARK PLUG SHOOTS OUT OF MOTOR WHILE DRIVING. HAS BEEN REPORTED ON LOTS OF VEHICLES FOR YEARS.
MY 2002 F150 TRUCK DROPPED THE FUEL TANK ON 5/26/2017. MIRACULOUSLY, MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WEREN'T KILLED. MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE USING THE TRUCK, HELPING A FRIEND MOVE. LUCKILY, THEY JUST LEFT MCDONALDS RESTAURANT WHEN IT BROKE. THEY WERE ON A SIDE STREET AND WERE FORCED TO STAY WHERE THEY WERE. THE EASTPOINT FIRE-DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED ON SCENE DUE TO GASOLINE LEAKING OUT OF THE TANK INTO THE STREET. THEY STAYED WITH THE VEHICLE UNTIL AAA WAS CALLED. THEY TOWED THE TRUCK ON A FLATBED TRUCK AND DELIVERED IT TO MY GUYS AUTO REPAIR, GRATIOT, ROSEVILLE, MI. MY TRUCK HAD A RECALL ON IT FOR SAFETY STRAPS, WHICH WERE THE CAUSE BY BREAKING. I TRIED TO GET IT FIXED AT DORIAN FORD, CLINTON TWP.,MI. 2 YEARS PRIOR, BUT WAS GIVEN A 'RUNAROUND' BY DORIAN FORD, TELLING ME TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIR IN 2 MONTHS TIME. I FORGOT WHEN THE 2 MONTHS WERE UP AND DORIAN FORD DIDN'T TRY TO CONTACT ME. I AM FORCED NOW TO PAY OVER 1500 DOLLARS TO REPAIR MY TRUCK, WHICH I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I AM GRATEFUL BEYOND BELIEF THAT MY FAMILY OR I WEREN'T KILLED. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHAT I CAN DO IN LIGHT OF EVERYTHING IE...COMPENSATION FOR SAID REPAIR, ETC. THANK-YOU.
PASSENGER SEATBELT RELEASES WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAYS EVERY PASSENGER THAT RIDES IN MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM

BLEW SPARK PLUG OUT OF HEAD.
FUEL TANK STRAPS BROKE WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON CITY STREETS PUTTING A HOLE IN THE TANK AND SPILLING OUT FUEL WHILE DRIVING. FORD HAD A RECALL ON THE SAME YEAR & MODEL OF VEHICLE, HOWEVER OURS WAS NOT RECALLED.

TRUCK WAS PURCHASED AS USED IN OCT, 2016, SO WE HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF PREVIOUS DRIVER'S HABITS OR PROBLEMS. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO WORK FINE. PRIMARY DRIVER IS 5 FEET TALL AND MOVED THE STEERING WHEEL DOWN TO MAKE A MORE COMFORTABLE DRIVING POSITION. LATE DEC, 2016, EARLY JAN, 2017 WHILE PARKED, WE DISCOVERED THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND ONE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT NO LONGER WORKED..THE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT WAS A BAD BULB, BUT WHEN A CHECK OF FUSES AND BULBS FOR THE OTHER LIGHTS WERE FOUND TO BE OK, WE DECIDED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS BAD. WRONG ! MORE RESEARCH POINTED THE PROBLEM TO THE MULTI FUNCTION/COMBINATION SWITCH OR ITS CONNECTIONS, ACTUAL PROBLEM WAS THE CONNECTIONS ON THE MFS. NUMEROUS REFERRALS TO THIS PROBLEM FOR MANY FORD YEAR MODELS ARE POSTED ON THE INTERNET AS WELL AS SEVERAL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE.COM. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT SEVERAL WIRES GOING TO THE MFS HAD PULLED OUT OF THE CONNECTOR WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOWERED. CONNECTOR WAS DAMAGED BY THIS ACTION. WIRE CABLE GOING TO THE MFS IS FIXED SOLID TO THE STEERING COLUMN, AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SLACK IN THE WIRES TO ALLOW THE STEERING WHEEL TO BE LOWERED ALL THE WAY WITHOUT CAUSING THE PULLED WIRES AND DAMAGED CONNECTOR. PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AT OWNERS EXPENSE SINCE THE TRUCK WAS HAZARDOUS, UNSAFE, AND ILLEGAL TO DRIVE WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS AND PARTIAL TURN SIGNALS. DRIVING WITHOUT THESE LIGHTS, ESPECIALLY IN NE OHIO IN THE WINTER SNOW STORMS - I DON'T THINK SO !! COST OF REPAIRS:SEE FORWARDED INVOICE. IT APPEARS THE PROBLEM WAS BUILT INTO THE TRUCK FROM THE BEGINNING AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS AS WELL AS RECALLING ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE REPLACEMENT FORD CABLE PART XL1Z-14A320-AA COMES WITH LONGER LEADS TO AVOID THE PROBLEM, SO FORD IS CERTAINLY AWARE OF THIS FAILURE BUT HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT !!
IN THE LESS THAN 2 YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK, IT HAS BLOWN SPARK PLUGS 3 TIMES.
VEHICLE IN MOTION, CITY STREET, SPEED AT 35MPH. SUDDEN LOUD BANG, ENGINE STARTED BANGING. SPARK PLUG #4 BLEW OUT OF ENGINE HEAD.
PURCHASED USED IN 2004. HAVING SIMILAR ISSUE WITH DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT IN THAT WHILE TRUCK IS IN MOTION MY SEAT BELT WILL COME UNBUCKLED RANDOMLY. THIS LAST HAPPENED NOV 17TH 2016 AND ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING FOR MORE THAN 25 MINUTES OR SO AND DOES HAPPEN ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT RANDOMLY DISENGAGES WHILE IN MOTION. REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLE BROKEN - BLACK "SLEEVE" SLIDES DOWN EXPOSING SPRING MECHANISM INSIDE WHICH IS MISSING SOME PLASTIC PIECES. FRONT PASSENGER HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR A COUPE OF YEARS. BACKSEAT IS FAIRLY NEW.
MY VEHICLE HAD ITS FUEL TANK STRAPS REPLACED UNDER A RECALL. THE CORROSION FROM THE ORIGINAL STRAPS SPREAD TO THE FUEL TANK. NOW, THE CORROSION ON THE FUEL TANK HAS CAUSED THE FUEL TANK TO BEGIN LEAKING UNDER THE REPLACED STRAPS. PERHAPS SOME OF THE ISSUE IS DUE TO THE PROCESS / PROCEDURE USED IN REPLACING THE ORIGINAL FUEL TANK STRAPS. VEHICLE NOW HAS APPROX 207,000 MILES. FUEL LEAK WAS NOTICED WHILE PERFORMING OTHER REGULAR MAINTENANCE.

VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. LOUD NOISE IN DRIVE POSITION, TRANSMISSION WENT OUT OF GEAR, VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR.
#3SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD . SINCE THE INJECTOR WAS STILL PUMPING FUEL INTO THE OPEN CHAMBER THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ENGINE FIRE INOW HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE SOMEWHAT OF A PROBLEM WITH THE 4.6 LITRE ENGINE DUE TO THE ALUMINUM HEADS.
DRIVER SEAT BELT LOCKED. UNABLE TO BUCKLE AT ALL. WHEN I PULL THE BELT WILL NOT RELEASE.
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE RELEASES RANDOMLY WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER BUCKLING / LATCHING SEATBELT DRIVER CAN PULL HARD ON BELT AND WON'T RELEASE, THEN AFTER DRIVING FOR A RANDOM AMOUNT OF TIME (30 SECONDS TO 3 HOURS) THE SEAT BELT WILL RELEASE WITHOUT WARNING. REPLACED LATCH WITH ALTERNATIVE (2001 YEAR AND DIFFERENT COLOR) 1L7Z 7861203 BAB. I BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM REPRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CONFIDENCE OF A SEATBELT'S ABILITY TO PERFORM IN AN ACCIDENT DEFECTIVE PART IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND STARTED EMITTING SPARKS. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
WHILE PULLING UP TO A STOP LIGHT MY TRUCK STARTED POPPING AND SHAKING. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE HOOD TO FIND OUT A SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE MOTOR. IT EXPLODED WITH SUCH FORCE IT BROKE THE COIL OVER HOUSING ON THE HEAD. I HAVE CALLED FORD AND THEY SAY THEY DON'T KNOW OF ANY ISSUES OF THIS. IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT IT. THEY ARE IN COURT RIGHT NOW OVER THE 2005 AND UP VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE PLUGS SO THEY ARE STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY, AND THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 123,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS NOW GOING TO COST ME OVER $400.00 TO FIX THIS ONE PLUG WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER PLUGS. I'M RETIRED ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND CANNOT AFFORD A NEW TRUCK PAYMENT, OR CONTINUE TO FIX THEIR DEFECTS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2002 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A TRAILER THAT WAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE STARTED TO BURN. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW WHETHER A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.
THE SPARK PLUG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE EXPLODED OUT OF THE HEAD AS SOON AS I STARTED THE VEHICLE BREAKING THE COIL PACK IN THE PROCESS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED A YEAR AGO AND SINCE THE PLUG BLEW OUT ON ME I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK SO IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 5 HOURS. ALMOST BURNT MY BUILDING DOWN.
LOUD NOISE SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT AND CAUSED SPARKS WHEN OPENED THE HOOD. AFRAID IT WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE SO HAD IT TOWED. ACCORDING TO MECHANIC IS A FORD ISSUE ONGOING BUT NO RECALL NOR WILL FORD PAY FOR IT. 91120 MILES ON TRUCK WELL MAINTAINED.

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL TANK STRAPS WERE CORRODED AND CREATED A HOLE IN THE FUEL TANK, WHICH CAUSED FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE TANK. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V385000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) BUT THE REMEDY COULD NOT BE PERFORMED AT THE TIME DUE TO THE CORROSION OF THE FUEL TANK. IN 12-14 AND 1-10-2016 THE BUTTERFLY IN THE THROTTLE BODY STUCK AND VEHICLE WOULDN'T SLOW DOWN. 1ST INCIDENT -10F, CAME FROM WARM GARAGE, INTERSTATE, CRUISE CONTROL IN USE, IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF DRIVING EVENTUALLY SPEED GOT TO 85MPH ON ITS OWN, CRUISE SHUT OFF AND VEHICLE MAINTAINED 85 MPH, ONCE STOPPED THROTTLE AND CRUISE CABLE WERE CHECKED AND FREE, BUTTERFLY WAS STUCK PARTIALLY OPEN WHEN MANUALLY MOVED AND BROKE FREE, PROBLEM WENT AWAY; 2ND DATE -5F CAME FROM WARM GARAGE, INTERSTATE, CRUISE ON, 20 MINUTES INTO TRIP, SIMILAR RESULTS, WEATHER CLEAR LOW HUMIDITY, VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN, CRUISE SHUT OFF, NO-LOAD ENGINE SPEED OVER 5000 RPM, VEHICLE SPEED 65MPH ON LEVEL WITH NO THROTTLE INPUT, CABLES WHEN CHECKED WERE FREE, BRAKES WOULD BARELY SLOW VEHICLE, ENGINE OPERATED NORMALLY ONCE BUTTERFLY WAS BROKE FREE BUT PROBLEM REOCCURRED ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER. FORD F150 XLT 4.6L AUTOMATIC SUPERCREW, NO PROBLEM NOTED WHEN WEATHER IS WARMER
TURNS SIGNALS DIDN'T WHILE DRIVING IN COLD VEHICLE IN COLD WEATHER. ONCE THE TEMPERATURE WARMED UP THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE THE TURN SIGNALS WORKED NORMALLY. I HAD NO PROBLEMS IN THE WARM MONTHS OF THE YEAR. TURN SIGNAL LEVER WORKS PROPERLY ON AND OFF. THOUGHT IT WAS THE FLASHER UNIT, REPLACE IT AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD ( SOMEWHERE BELOW 40 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT ) THE TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS IN A LOWER TILT POSITION. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE IF THE TEMPERATURE IS CLOSE TO FREEZING. WHEN THE CAB OF THE PICKUP WARMS UP SIGNALS WILL WORK. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 50 DEGREES F SIGNALS WILL WORK. THE SIGNAL WIRES ARE STRETCHED IN THE COLUMN BY TILTING THE STEERING WHEEL DOWN. THE COLD MAKES THE WIRES STIFF. WHEN THE WIRES WARM UP THEY FLEX TO COMPLETE THE CIRCUIT ON THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER CONNECTION AND ACTIVE THE SIGNALS PROPERLY. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON RANGER TRUCKS FOR THIS ISSUE. WOULD LIKE TO SEE ONE ISSUED FOR THIS TRUCK.
I BLEW THE 3RD CYLINDER SPARK PLUG OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, 2 TIMES IN 600 MILES WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS CAUSED RAW FUEL TO LEAK ONTO THE HOT MANIFOLD CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. I SPENT 1142.17 TO HAVE THIS ISSUE REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT CAUGHT FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. ABOUT 6MONTHS AGO, CRUISING ABOUT 60MPH; HEARD A "POP", LOST ENGINE POWER, ENGINE LIGHT ON,...PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED #3 CYLINDER MISSING THE SPARK PLUG AND THE COP BROKEN. HAD IT TOWED HOME (APPROX 25MILES); WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED IT'S A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH MANY OTHER FORD V8-V10 1997-2003 MOTORS.
INVOLVED IN A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE (PURCHASED IN 5-13-2014) BFG 275/60R17 FROM DISCOUNT TIRES. TRUCK WAS TOTALED AND THE ONE PIECE OF TIRE WE HAVE DOES NOT HAVE THE DOT NUMBERS ON THEM. WHEN THE BLOW OUT OCCURRED I HIT SOFT SAND LOSING TRACTION CAUSING THE TRUCK TO ROLL 3 TIMES WHILE ON A MAIN ROAD. I WILL BE INCLUDING THREE PICTURES - ONE OF THE TIRE ON ITS RIM, ONE OF THE TRUCK AT THE TOW YARD AND ONE OF THE PIECE OF TIRE WE PICKED UP OFF THE ROAD UPON MY RELEASE FROM THE HOSPITAL. THE CHP OFFICER DID NOT SPEAK TO ANY WITNESSES AND I HEARD THE LADY WHO CALLED 911 TELL THE OFFICER I SUFFERED A BLOW OUT AND SHE POINTED IT OUT TO HIM - YET HE DOES NOT EVEN MENTION IT IN THE REPORT NOR THE NAMES OF ANY WITNESSES. MY INSURANCE COMPANY (AAA) CLAIMS UNLESS I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER THEY WILL FIND ME AT FAULT FOR NOT MAINTAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHICH I FIND TO BE TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. I HANDLED A BLOW OUT IN A FORD EXPLORER ON A DRY FREEWAY PREVIOUSLY AND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT ANY SERIOUS DAMAGE OR INJURIES. DIFFERENT STORY WHEN YOU HIT SAND. I FEEL THE TIRE BLOWING OUT IS WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRAP HANGING UNDER THE FUEL TANK AND THAT FUEL LEAKED ONTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS RUST AND HOLES UNDERNEATH THE TANK THAT CAME FROM CORROSION AND THAT THE STRAPS ON THE TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
