DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE CORD THAT OPERATES THE DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING.

PURCHASED NEW TIRES IN JAN 2019 ALL 4 TIRES OVER $1000.(DUE TO SLOW LEAKS ON 2 TIRES ) ONLY TO HAVE FLAT TIRE EVERY MORNING HAD TO AIR UP TIRE .FINALLY YOU COULD HEAR AIR COMING OUT TOOK BACK TO AMERICA TIRES TO CK AND WAS INFORMED THAT STEEL FORD RIM IS CRACKED ON INSIDE THEY COULD NOT LEGALLY PUT TIRE AND RIM BACK ON MY TRUCK DUE TO SAFETY THEY SAID I NEED TO HAVE 3 OTHERS ALSO CKD FOR DEFECT ON FORD STEEL RIMS WELD SEPERATEING AND COUKD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY SO I SIT WITH NEW TIRES ON 3 RIM THAT I CANT CK XAUSE HAVE NO REPLACEMENT RIM S
I WAS PULLING IN MY DRIVEWAY I BACK OUT TO BACK IN BACK IN TO UNLOAD MY FOURWHEELER AN THE TRUCK WOULDN'T MOVE, I TAPPED THE FUEL A COUPLE TIMES AN SOUND LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, I JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN FEBRUARY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH REAR DOORS FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT CALLED WORLD FORD PENSACOLA (6397 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, (850) 476-9050) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR CABLE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,670.
TRUCK WAS IN SIGNIFICANT FRONT END COLLISION - SEE PHOTO. DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY
THIS PROBLEM IS RELATED TO FORD 5.4 LITER TRITON V8 24 VALVE ENGINES AND FREQUENT FAILURES OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. A SEARCH OF ONLINE LITERATURE FROM AUTOMOTIVE EXPERTS AND MECHANICS REPORT AN UNUSUAL NUMBER OF THESE MANIFOLDS WARPING, CRACKING, AND BREAKING THE MOUNTING STUDS. REPAIRS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE, IN THE RANGE OF $1000 - $2000 PER MANIFOLD. LAST FALL 2018, MY 2006 F-150 5.4 TRITON, WITH ONLY 83,000 MILES, BEGAN LEAKING EXHAUST FROM THE RIGHT SIDE MANIFOLD. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER FOR REPAIRS. (SOME INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS STATED THEY WILL NOT WORK ON THESE FORD MODEL MANIFOLDS ANYMORE.) THE TOTAL COST TO REPLACE THE MANIFOLD WAS OVER $1800. THE PARTS AND MATERIALS WERE ONLY ABOUT $300. THERE WAS A LOT OF LABOR INVOLVED BECAUSE 6 OF 8 MOUNTING STUDS HAD TO REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE LEFT SIDE MANIFOLD BECAUSE THE MOUNTING STUDS ON THAT SIDE WERE SHOWING SIGNS OF IMPENDING FAILURE. IN FACT, SOME OF THE STUDS MAY BE BROKEN ALREADY, BUT THE LEFT MANIFOLD IS NOT YET LEAKING, SO I DID NOT REPLACE THE LEFT MANIFOLD AT THAT TIME. I AM A RETIRED MINE ENGINEER/MANAGER. I WAS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THE MAINTENANCE OF TRUCKS AND EQUIPMENT. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM IN THESE MANIFOLDS AND/OR THE HEADS THEY MOUNT ON. (THESE ARE THE HEADS THAT PROMPTED THE 5.4 TRITON SPARK PLUG SETTLEMENT.)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. REQUIRED OIL AND MAINTANCE SERVICES AT 3,000 MILE INTERVALS WERE DONE SINCE HE PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND THE ENGINE WENT OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR FLASHED. DENNY MENHOLT FORD (50 FORD LN, BUTTE, MT 59701, (406) 494-6333) DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO ENGINE RECALLS TO PROVIDE A RECALL REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. *BF*JB
THE U JOINT ARE FREEZING UP AND IT IS HARD TO TURN AND IT GETS WORSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 FORD F-150. AFTER THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY, FLAMES WERE SEEN COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT APPROXIMATELY FIVE HOURS LATER. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE HOME AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH TWO OTHER VEHICLES THAT WERE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
DRIVERS SIDE FRAME RAIL IS SO RUSTED OUT THEY TOLD ME TO STOP DRIVING IT
INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT UP ON OPENING THE DOOR. ADDITIONALLY, UPON STARTING THE ENGINE, THE ELECTRICAL PANEL BLINKS, FIZZLES, DEMANDS RESET, WHICH DOESN'T RESET, AND EVENTUALLY CORRECTS ITSELF SOMETIMES AFTER 15 MINUTES OF BLINKING. ADDITIONALLY, THE HIGH BEAMS IMPLEMENT AND THEN YOU CANNOT MAKE THE HIGH BEAMS TURN OFF. MAY ALL BE RELATED BUT, SEEMS LIKE 3 SEPARATE ISSUES, ALL SEEM TO BE RELATED TO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. BLINKING BEGINS WHILE STATIONARY UPON STARTING TRUCK AND CONTINUES WHILE IN MOTION, INDICATES PROBLEM WITH EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL INCLUDING SPEEDOMETER AND STATES AUTO LOCKS FAIL, ALONG WITH BLINKING FAILURE OF ALL SYSTEMS STATING RESET BUT PUSHING RESET DOES NOT APPEAR TO FIX ANYTHING.....ONLY TIME FIXES IT.
The engine shakes violently when driving and cause the truck to learch unexpectedly in forward or reverse. It unexpectedly looses power and dies. This has been going on for 4 years.
TAKATA RECALL. FOR THREE YEARS OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES, BEEPING ELECTRICAL DASH PANEL AND LIGHTS IN TRUCK HARDLY EVER WORK. THE TRUCKS DEPENDABILITY AT MOMENT ISN'T GREAT DUE TO THESE ISSUES. CAN'T AFFORD A NEW TRUCK AT TIME BEING .. THIS TRUCK TRANSPORTS MY TODDLERS AROUND. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN TURNING ON CAR AND OPENING DOORS WE NEVER SEE LIGHTS ON. IT DOES HAPPEN ALSO WHEN DRIVING AT RANDOM TIMES. NOT SURE IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH STOPPING OR TURNING. WILL HAPPEN AT ANY RATE OF SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM TURNING AND ALMOST DROVE OFF A BRIDGE INTO A RIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE VEERED TO SAFETY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
HARD STEERING ON INITIAL START UP AND DRIVING . STEERING WOULD NOT GO BACK TO CENTER BY ITSELF HAD TO MANUALLY CORRECT..STEERING GETS BETTER THE LONGER YOU DRIVE IT.
THE FRAME IS RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. USING MY HAND TO GET LEVERAGE TO LOOK UNDER VEHICLE AS EXHAUST WAS DRIPPING WATER. THE FRAME CRUMPLED AND BROKE WITH THE FORCE OF MY HAND. I UNDERSTAND 2001-2004 VEHICLES WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME REASON.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE ON THE WAY TO WORK AROUND 8 PM. WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES. I REACTED IN ACCORDANCE AND HIT MY BRAKES PRETTY HARD. WHEN I DID MY TRUCK PULLED TO THE LEFT AND TOOK ME INTO THE MEDIAN. WHEN I TRIED TO CORRECT MY VEHICLE THE BACK END STARTED SLIDING OUT AS I TRIED TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD. WHEN MY TRUCK FINALLY CAUGHT TRACTION IT SHOT ME TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT DID THE SAME THING. SLIDING THE BACK END OUT. THIS TIME I WAS SLIDING PERPENDICULAR TO THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN MY TRUCK FOUND SOMETHING SOLID TO STOP THE SLIDE IT STARTED TO ROLL. DURING THE CRASH I WAS THROWN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AFTER THE FIRST ROLL AND KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. AFTER I WAS RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL I WENT TO COLLECT THE THINGS FROM MY TRUCK THAT HAD BEEN PICKED UP. WHEN I GOT TO THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT NON OF MY AIRBAGS HADN'T DEPLOYED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A PRETTY SERIOUS CRASH THAT TOTALED MY TRUCK. THE CAB AND BED OF THE TRUCK WERE BOTH CRUMPLED BUT NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG HAD DEPLOYED.
BOUGHT THE TRUCK, FOUND OUT THE TRUCK HAD BEEN WRECKED AND WE WERE NEVER INFORMED. WE WENT TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AND WAS TOLD ABOUT THE RECALLS. THE MAN TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE HAD REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG, BUT INSTEAD OF BOLTING IT BACK IN, THE AIRBAG WAS RIVETED BACK IN. AFTER BEING TOLD ABOUT THE AIRBAG, WE CONTACTED THE PLACE WHERE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THE GUY THAT SOLD US THE TRUCK WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THAT HE WOULD CALL US BACK. TO THIS DAY WE HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM THEM.
HAVE A SLIGHT MISFIRE AND CALLED ALL MY LOCAL SHOPS AND NO SHOP WILL CHANGE THE PLUGS ON A F-150 WITH A 5.4L TRITON MOTOR. THEY SAID IT'S WELL KNOWN THAT ALL THE SPARK PLUGS WILL SNAP OFF IN THE BLOCK. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT $1000 TO CHANGE THEM. WHILE IN ALL OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS IT'S $50-$100 JOB. RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE IT SEEMS THIS HAPPENS TO EVERY FORD THAT HAD THE 5.4L TRITON ENGINE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? I CAN'T AFFORD $1000 TO CHANGE MY SPARK PLUGS. I'M A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER AND THIS IS BEYOND MY MEANS CURRENTLY. I EMAILED FORD AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT BEING A KNOWN ISSUE. YET EVERY MECHANIC SHOP WILL AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF CASES OF THIS ISSUE ALL OVER THE INTERNET.
AT 9:20 MONDAY MORNING 6/25/18 MY 2006 F-150 HAD BEEN SITTING STATIONARY, UNOCCUPIED AND TURNED OFF FOR 3 AND HALF HOURS. I WAS WAKEN UP BY MY WIFE TELLING ME MY TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE HAD BREACHED THROUGH THE HOOD AND CONTAINED TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I HAD NO PRIOR TROUBLE TO THE OPERATION OF MY TRUCK THAT WOULD INDICATE A PROBLEM. THE FIRE DESTROYED ENTIRE FRONT OF TRUCK.
AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATION DRIPS DOWN INTO #4 CYLINDER CAUSING A MISFIRE
MY HUSBAND WAS BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY AND HAD SUDDEN ACCELERATION THAT SPUN HIM UP ONTO THE LAWN AND FINALLY THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AFTER HITTING OUR HOUSE AND GOING THROUGH THE WALL. THE TRUCK STOPPED WITH THE BACK WHEELS INSIDE THE HOUSE WITH THE ENGINE CONTINUING TO REV.
BOUGHT A USED FORD F 150 WITH 65700 MILES IN APRIL 2011. AFTER 7 YEARS AND ONLY PUTTING ON 34700 MILES THERE IS A LOUD TICKING COMING FROM THE ENGINE. IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT THE TRUCK ENGINE LOOSES POWER AND WHEN IT DOES HAVE SOME POWER IT FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE FRONT SHAKES AS IF THE TIRE IS COMING OFF. FORD STATES THE ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED OR SOME OTHER PROBLEMS THAT SEEM TO BE INHERENT WITH THE 5.4 AND NO WAY IS FORD EVEN WANTING TO FIX
PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. APPLIED BRAKE AND PLACED IN NEUTRAL. ENGINE REVVED THEN ACCELERATION STOPPED FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN ENGINE REVVED AND PEGGED THE RPM GAUGE. HAD TO TURN TRUCK OFF TO GET ACCELERATION TO STOP.
'TAKATA RECALL' THE FRAME IS RUSTED REALLY BAD AND ALMOST RUSTED INTO. THE TRUCK BED IS RUSTED IN BOTTOM AND RUSTED ALL OVER. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK THINKING FORD DIDN'T RUST LIKE THIS. PLEASE HELP ME. TRUCK IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET A NEW FRAME AND TRUCK BED.

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTOMAX FORD (3301 E CENTRAL TEXAS EXPY, KILEEN, TX), BUT THEY REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. *TT *TR
THE VEHICLE THAT IS TALKED ABOUT IN THIS IS A 2006 FORD F-150 THAT RECENTLY WENT IN FOR AN ANNUAL NYS SAFETY INSPECTION AND FAILED DUE TO AN EXCESSIVELY RUSTED FRAME THAT RESULTED IN CRACKS ON BOTH FRAME RAILS. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY ~50,000 MILES AND IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG THE FRAME HAS ACTUALLY BEEN CRACKED AND STILL DRIVEN.
MOTOR IS MISSING AND THE CODES ARE P0345, P0349 AND P0171
SMART JUNCTION BOX FAILED. CAUSING INTERIOR, DASH AND BACK LIGHTS NOT TO LIGHT AND INCLUDING THE HORN NOT TO WORK. WHEN TRYING TO REPLACE THE FUSE IT WOULD BLOW THE FUSE AND SMOKE. IT IS IN THE SHOP NOW TO HAVE THE SMART JUNCTION BOX REPLACED. FUSES STARTED BLOWING. AT FIRST IT WAS THE RADIO AND THE FUSE WAS REPLACED THEN THE OTHERS STARTED TO BLOW.
THE MECHANIC SAID I NEED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC 4.6L MOTOR AND DOES NOT GET 4RD OR 4TH GEAR. MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WHEN IT REACHED 40MPH IT WOULD NOT GO I HAD TO SWITCH TO 2ND GEAR.
MY TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE YESTERDAY. DUE TO A HEAT SHIELD MISSING OVER PASSENGER SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CAUSED THE PLASTIC GROMMETS THAT HOLD THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL ON THE FLOORBOARD TO DROP AND HANG ON TOP OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER UNTIL THE MATERIAL CAUGHT ON FIRE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS STILL INVESTIGATING HOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD WAS MISSING. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND IT WAS USED, THEY HAD TO DO SERVICE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRING AND THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE HAD ROTTED. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK WAS MISSING A HEAT SHIELD, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE ANY KIND OF FLAMMABLE MATERIAL NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER JUST IN CASE A HEAT SHIELD HAPPENS TO ROT AND FALL OFF OR FOR ANY REASON THE HEAT SHIELD IS MISSING .THE FIRE TRAVELED THROUGH THE MATERIAL ALMOST TO THE TOP OF MY ENGINE. AFTER I GOT THE FLAMES OUT IT WAS STILL SMOLDERING AND SMOLDERED UP INTO A SPACE I COULD NOT REACH TO NOR SEE. I ALSO BELIEVE A FIRE RETARDANT SYSTEM SHOULD BE CREATED TO DOUSE FLAMES IN A SECTION OF AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT CANNOT BE REACHED AND WOULD PROBABLY SAVE COUNTLESS LIVES PROPERTY AND INVESTED MONEY INTO VEHICLE AND OTHER THINGS THAT A VEHICLE ON FIRE COULD DESTROY.
THE FRAME IS RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT I'VE HAD TO HAVE A SHOP WELD STEEL SECTIONS AROUND THE FRAME. BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND KEPT MILES OFF OF IT BECAUSE I PLANNED TO RETIRE AND KEEP THE TRUCK FOR QUITE SOMETIME RETIRED NOW FOR A YEAR AND I'M BEING TOLD I'LL HAVE TO JUNK THE TRUCK IN A YEAR OR SO. I HAVE A TRUCK WITH LOW MILES AND CAN'T USE IT. THANKS FORD MOTOR COMPANY!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MISFIRE. THE CONTACT NOTICED CARBON BUILD UP ON THE SPARK PLUG HEAD, WHICH CAUSED IT TO CEMENT ONTO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD OF HONOLULU (1370 N KING ST, HONOLULU, HAWAII, 96817, PHONE NUMBER: (808) 824-3981) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A "CRAPPY" DESIGN WAS ON THE SPARK PLUG THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR SPARK PLUGS, BUT FRACTURED ONE OF THEM. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE THE FRACTURED SPARK PLUG. THE SPARK PLUG WAS NOT REPLACED DUE TO THE REPLACEMENT FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
TL* THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND OWNED A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE DROVE IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND THIGHS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 202,000.

THE AUTO NATION FORD DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WE BOUGHT OUR 2006 F150 IN 2015, THINKING WE'D HAVE IT FOR YEARS TO COME. BY 2017, TWO SEPARATE MECHANICS HAD TOLD US THAT THERE WAS 'CATASTROPHIC CORROSION' TO THE FRAME. BOTH RECOMMENDED THAT WE HAVE A NEW FRAME FABRICATED. ONE OF THEM FOUND OUT THAT EARLIER F150S WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF A BAD FRAME COATING THAT CAUSED IRREPARABLE RUST. HE BELIEVES THE '06 SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS WELL. THIS CAR WAS ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT TILL WE GOT IT, AND HAD NEVER BEEN FLOODED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT FORD REFUSES TO ACT. WE ENDED UP WITH A $12000 YARD ORNAMENT, AND CAN'T EVEN SELL IT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO DEAL WITH REFABRICATING THE FRAME. WE WERE TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THE TRUCK, AS THE FRAME COULD BASICALLY BUCKLE AT ANY TIME. RIDICULOUS THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN INVESTIGATED. I FEAR THE MORE TIME THAT PASSES, THE LESS LIKELY IT WILL BE THAT AN INVESTIGATION TAKES PLACE.

P255/70R17 STARTED TO NOTICE AFTER A WEEK OF DRIVING TRUCK THERE WAS SO MUCH SHAKING AND VIBRATIONS WHILE DRIVING EVEN WHILE UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT .CHECKED TIRES TO MY SHOCK THE RUBBER WAS SPLITTING AND RUBBER WAS CRUMBLING APART RAN MY HANDS OVER TIRE AND COULD PLUCK PIECES OF RUBBER READY TO FALL OF WITH THE STRENGTH OF 2FINGERS

THE VEHICLE CROSSED THE ROAD, WENT INTO AN APARTMENT COMPLEX, AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BLOCK. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE FLATTENED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER (SABINE RIVER FORD IN ORANGE, TEXAS) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNUSUAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER PLACED THE CONTACT ON HOLD FOR TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES AND DID NOT RETURN TO THE PHONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
FORD F150 XLT 2006 SHOULD HAVE A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL FOR THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT AND A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS DRIVING DOWN VT116 (A HILLY, WINDING 2 LANE COUNTRY HIGHWAY WITH NO SHOULDER) IN THE RAIN AT ABOUT 40MPH WHEN MY TRUCK STARTED TO BUCK AND LOSE POWER. THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER, SO I PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND TRIED TO LIMP IT TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. THE ENGINE STALLED AND I LOST STEERING AND BRAKING POWER ON A CURVE. I APPLIED THE BRAKES MANUALLY AND WRESTLED THE STEERING WHEEL (WHICH NO LONGER HAD ANY POWER ASSIST). WITH MAJOR DIFFICULTY, I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A CONTROLLED STOP. I WAS THEN ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE, LIMPED ALONG AT 15MPH, BUCKING AND STALLING 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE GETTING TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD MY FCM REPLACED (PRIOR WAS 1/5/2013) AND THE SECOND TIME I ALMOST CRASHED MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. THE PREVIOUS TIME WAS JANUARY 2013 ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD IN WINTER ON SNOW. IF I WAS TOWING MY BOAT ON THE INTERSTATE AND LOST ALL POWER, I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH ANYONE AROUND ME. WHY IS IT A DESIGN DEFECT? BECAUSE THIS ELECTRONIC COMPONENT IS INSTALLED IN A WEATHER-EXPOSED AREA ABOVE THE SPARE TIRE AND IS NOT CORROSION-PROOF. IN ANY RUST BELT STATE (OR A PLACE EXPOSED TO SALT), THE CASE WILL CORRODE, EXPOSING THE CIRCUIT BOARD TO WATER, CAUSING THE UNIT TO FAIL. WHY IS IT A SAFETY CONCERN? BECAUSE WHEN THE FCM FAILS, THE ENGINE WILL STALL, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKING SYSTEMS. NHTSA SHOULD FORCE FORD TO DO A MANDATORY RECALL AND REDESIGN THIS POORLY DESIGNED PART. EVEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FAIL AFTER A FEW YEARS. CONSIDERING HOW MANY F150'S ARE ON THE ROAD AND HOW MANY OF THEM CARRY OR TOW HEAVY LOADS, I'D SAY THIS SHOULD BE A TOP PRIORITY FOR BOTH FORD AND NHTSA. RECALL!
MY ABS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED. THE LIGHT FOR ABS CAME ON AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO INGAGE ON A DRY ROAD. I HAD TO VEAR OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID ANOTHER TRUCK MAKING A TURN. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH A CAR INFRONT OF ME, BEFORE I GOT HOME AND PARKED THE TRUCK. THE BRAKES SHUTTER ON PRESSING THEM AND THEN FAIL TO INGAUGE. I HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED IN GOODYEAR AZ AT THE FIRD DEALER FOR OVER 800 DOLLARS AND NOW THE PROBLEM BEGAN AGAIN. I LIVE IN LAKESIDE ARIZONA AND CANT DRIVE THE TRUCK BACK TO THAT DEALER WITHOUT FEAR OF DYING ON THE SIDE OF A CLIFF IR IN A BAD ACCIDENT BECAUSE MY BRAKES FAIL TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND BRAKES ARE NEEDED TO GO THROUGH THE MOUNTSINS TO GET TO THAT DEALER. VERY UPSET THAT I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM CACTUS JACKS IN PHOENIX AZ. 560 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A TRUCK I CANT DRIVE FOR MY SMALL FARM. I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE IN TBIS TRUCK FOR ONE I CAN TRUST THAT WONT BE THE DEATH OF ME OR MY FAMILY.

NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK PAINS, HEAD INJURY, AND LEG PAINS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY WHO INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY PROVIDED NO REASON AS TO WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO AIR BAG RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AFTER THE CRASH HAPPENED TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE CLAIMS DEADLINE HAD BEEN MISSED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE CORROSION CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL AND NOT RESTART WHILE DRIVING ON SECONDARY ROAD. *TR
WAS DRIVING MY 2006 F-150 OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS IN CANADA. THERE WAS COMPACT SNOW AND ICE ON THE ROADWAY AND I WAS TRAVELING WITH OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO BRAKE, I AS WELL TRIED TO BRAKE ONLY TO FIND MY TRUCK HAD LOST POWER AND WAS NO LONGER RUNNING. I HAD LOST POWER TO MY BRAKES AND STEERING. THIS CAUSED MY TRUCK TO BEGIN SLIDING ON THE SNOW AND ICE AND I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. THE CARS AROUND ME WERE SLOWING AND STOPPING AND I COULD NOT. I BEGAN TO FISH TAIL IN BOTH DIRECTIONS WHILE TRYING DESPERATELY TO CONTROL MY TRUCK WITH NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING, I EVENTUALLY DID A COMPLETE 360 DEGREE SPIN AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL WITH OUT ROLLING OVER AND INTO THE DITCH OR SMASHING INTO THE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP MY TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING AND THE DASH LIGHTS WERE ON. I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK WITHOUT ISSUE AND CONTINUED ON WITHOUT ISSUE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS TRUCK, THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND I WAS ABLE TO JUST COAST TO A STOP AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK. THIS LAST INCIDENT ON THE MOUNTAIN PASS HAS CONFIRMED TO ME THAT I WILL NOT OWN ANOTHER FORD AS I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM TO FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD TRUCKS. I AM CERTAIN THIS HAS CAUSED MAJOR ACCIDENTS IF NOT DEATHS AND THE FACT THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES LEFT BEHIND FROM THE EVENTS TO VERIFY THIS HAS HAPPENED WE MAY NEVER KNOW. I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN THE "ENGINE FAILSAFE WARNING' LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENTIRE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. NO POWER AT ALL. VERY HARD TO STOP AND STEER. I NEARLY GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. ANOTHER TIME I WAS ENTERING PARKING LOT WHEN IT HAPPENED. I HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUT SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE ON A WARNING WHILE DRIVING IS VERY DANGEROUS. SOME INTERNET RESEARCH INDICATES THIS IS NOT A LONE OCCURRENCE.
