I JUST HAD MY TRUCK SERVICED AT SAYVILLE FORD & THEY FOUND TWO BROKEN FRONT SPRINGS. THE TRUCK HAS 142000 MILES. I CANT FIND ANY RECALL INFO ON NHTSA. CAN YOU ADVISE ME IF THIS IS A CURRENT PROBLEM BEING INVESTIGATED?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE DRIVE SHAFT SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WHO WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPAIRED THE REAR AXLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
THE FRAME BROKE WHERE THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL MOUNTS, THIS LET THE FRONT AXLE TWIST AND YOU CAN NOT STEER THE TRUCK!!! I THINK THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, IF YOU WERE GOING OVER 5 MPH. YOU COULD NOT TURN.FORD FACTORY REP. SAYS THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO NOT THERE PROBLEM, THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORD SHOULD FIX THIS AT THERE EXPENSE AS THIS A SAFETY CONCERN. HOW MANY OTHER FORD PICK UPS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT NOT REPORTED IT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HOW TO OR WHO TO COMPLAIN TO. I HAD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE GEARS AND THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BEARINGS AND SEALS IN THE REAR END - ON A TRUCK THAT HAD 87,000 MILES. EVERY DEALERSHIP I'VE SPOKEN TO HAS TALKED ABOUT THE CHEAP BEARINGS IN THE FRONT AND REAR END ON THESE FORD F-150'S. 18,000 MILES AGO I HAD TO FIX THE FRONT END. *KB

THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK OR THERE WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE DEALER AND FORD HAVE AGREED TO CUT THE BILL IN HALF TO $650. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN TWO WEEKS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. LOUD SCREECHING NOISES FROM THE FRONT END. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I TOOK IT TO AN OUT OF TOWN DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I WAS OVER 125 MILES FROM HOME. IT SEEMS A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH 69K MILES HAD TO HAVE BOTH HUB ASSEMBLIES REPLACED, BOTH ACTUATORS AND BOTH VALVE ASSEMBLIES. MECHANIC STATED THAT HE'S HAD TO REPLACE OVER 25 FORD F-150 TRUCKS FOR THE SAME DEFECT (HIS WORDS). *TR

THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE FAILURE TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND WAS CONCERNED THAT THE WHEELS WOULD DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR POSSIBLE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
I DISCOVERED A LEAKY REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ON MY 2006 FORD TRUCK WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE SHOCK ABSORBER WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD REPLACE IT, BUT NOT THE PAIR. EVERY PROFESSIONAL SHOP THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH, TO INCLUDE THE FORD DEALER, SAYS SHOCK ABSORBERS SHOULD ALWAYS BE REPLACED IN PAIRS, BUT FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE THE PAIR--IT SAYS IT WILL ONLY REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE ONE. I APPEALED TO FORD MOTOR CORP AND THEY TOO REFUSED. I BELIEVE THAT IS WRONG AND UNSAFE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A SERIES OF BUMPS IN THE ROAD AND HIS VEHICLE BEGAN TO JUMP AND SHAKE VIOLENTLY. AS TIME PROGRESSED, HE COULD DRIVE 55 MPH AND RIDE OVER A POTHOLE OR EVEN THE SLIGHTEST OF BUMPS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE SIMILAR TO HOW A FLAT TIRE WOULD FEEL. THE DEALER STATED THAT HE NEEDED SHOCKS AND TIRES. AFTER SPENDING $1,600 DOLLARS ON WHAT THE DEALER RECOMMENDED, HIS VEHICLE IS STILL VIBRATING AND SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 41,132 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS A WHINING NOISE UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. THE NOISE SOUNDED AS THOUGH IT WAS COMING FROM THE SUSPENSION. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
MY NEW F150 HAS A TERRIBLE SHUDDER IN THE STEERING WHEEL FOR THE FIRST 10 MILES AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. IF IT IS COLD OUT, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE ABOVE 50 MPH. FORD HAS REPLACED THE TIRES, BUT THEY REPLACED THEM WITH THE SAME PIRELLIS AND IT DID NOT HELP. *JB
