TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN UNKNOWN SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SOMETIME AFTER THE REPAIRS, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE SEVERELY. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE OTHER DRIVER RAN A STOP SIGN AT 55 MPH AND HIT ME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FENDER AND MY AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF. I HAVE HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL WITH HURT SHOULDER AND BACK AND BRUISED KIDNEYS FRACTURED RIBS AND BRUISED LIVER AND MY ORGANS SWOLLEN AND A DISPLACED HIP. I AM STILL TRYING TO RECOVER FROM THE MAJOR SOFT TISSUE DAMAGE AND THE TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
DRIVING ON A POSTED 40 MPH COUNTY ROAD APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND LOST 80% POWER. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE SPARK PLUG(S) WERE BAD AND THE TUNE UP WOULD BE $500-$800 DEPENDING ON "IF" ONE OR ALL OF THEM BROKE DURING REMOVAL. ONE HAD ALREADY BLOWN OUT DURING AFOREMENTIONED INCIDENT. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM FOR A LOT OF FORD VEHICLES DURING THE YEARS 2004 THRU 2008. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL REPAIR. THANK YOU. *TR
HANKOOK DYNAPRO AS P235-70-R17S TIRE WITH APPROXIMATELY 60% WEAR (ACCORDING TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND TIRES REPLACED). DURING NORMAL DRIVING NOTICED ABNORMAL BUMPING THAT APPEARED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH TIRE OR FRONT END. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP TO CHECK BALANCE AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT. TECH FOUND THE ABOVE DESCRIBED TIRE HAD SEPARATED AND THE STEEL BELTING WAS PROTRUDING THROUGH THE TREAD AND TOP OF SIDEWALL. TIRE WAS ABOUT TO FAIL. DRIVER CONTACTED HANKOOK AND FORWARDED A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE TIRE TO THE REPRESENTATIVE. HANKOOK AGREED TO A 40% REFUND OF THE AMOUNT THAT FORD PAID (NOT WHAT I PAID) FOR THE TIRE IF I WOULD RETURN THE TIRE OR A PIECE FROM IT CONTAINING THE DOT NUMBER. FORD TOOK THE TIRE FOR RETURN TO HANKOOK. THREE WEEKS HAVE PASSED AND I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM FORD OR HANKOOK. *TR
ON OCTOBER 31 2014 WHILE VISITING FAMILY AFTER 350 MILE DRIVE MY 2007 FORD F-150 XLT SUPER CAB 4X4 4.6L MOTOR MADE A NOISE SIMILAR TO AN EXPLOSION THAT WAS FELT IN THE CAB BY ALL PASSENGERS. RIGHT AFTER THE EXPLOSION THE TRUCK LOST POWER AND SOUNDED LIKE AN EXHAUST PIPE HAD FALLEN OFF THE MOTOR. THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS AND EXHAUST BUT TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE. BROUGHT TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT 2 SPARK PLUGS HAS BLOWN OUT AND ONE OF THE TWO HAD TAKEN THE THREADS WITH IT. ADVISED ME THAT THIS WAS VERY RARE AND I HAD TO OPTIONS TO FIX. ONE WAS TO RE-THREAD AND REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS FOR $899. SECOND WAS TO REPLACE HEAD AT $2100. TOLD DEALERSHIP TO DO THE LESSER OPTION. HAD TO LEAVE TRUCK THERE AND OBTAIN A ONE WAY RENTAL FOR 5 PEOPLE AT $300. HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT ITS NOT RARE AND MAY NOT BE FIXED EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR. I AM GLAD THAT THIS HAPPENED ON A SURFACE ROAD AT LOW SPEED AND NOT ON THE HWY. *TR
WATER LEAKING FROM INTAKE MANIFOLD COOLANT CROSSOVER LINE. CROSSOVER IS AN ALUMINUM PIPE THAT CONNECTS TO THE PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD. WHEN MANIFOLD STARTED LEAKING COOLANT, 1 & 2 SPARK PLUG HOLES FILLED WITH WATER CAUSING SPARK PLUGS TO SHORT OUT AND STALL THE ENGINE AT LOW SPEED. PER FORD THE ONLY REPAIR IS REPLACEMENT OF THE COMPLETE INTAKE MANIFOLD AT A COST OF OVER $1200.00. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON F-150 FORUMS VIA THE INTERNET OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 105000 MILES ON IT. *TR
COOL WET MORNING (65F) BUT NOT RAINING AT THE TIME. DROVE DOWN HILL TO STOP SIGN AT 35MPH. AFTER SLOWING TO ABOUT 5MPH, TRUCK SUDDENLY SURGED DESPITE BRAKING HARD ENOUGH TO ENGAGE ANTILOCK BRAKES DRAGGING THE TRUCK INTO THE INTERSECTION. LESS THAN A MILE LATER, STILL GOING DOWN HILL AT 25MPH SLOWED FOR ANOTHER STOP SIGN. ENGINE SURGED AGAIN TO 3000RPM. DRAG INTO INTERSECTION WAS AVOIDED BY SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL. SURGE DROPPED SPONTANEOUSLY WITHIN 10 SECONDS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT PHASER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE DESIGN IS TERRIBLE ON THESE TRUCKS. LUCK FOR MY FAMILY WE WERE IN TOWN GOING SLOW WHEN THIS UNIT SHORTED OUT. IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY GRAVE AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. FROM READING ON THE INTERNET THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS PART. *TR
VEHICLE HAS STOPPED RUNNING GOING DOWN THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES. IT DOES THIS UNEXPECTEDLY, AND I LET IT COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND IT CRANKS UP. I DROVE IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. IT NOW SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY, BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IT IN TRAFFIC. I NEVER INTEND TO BUY ANOTHER FORD.
NOTED POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKAGE OVER PERIOD OF TIME. EVENTUALLY FLUID COMPLETELY LEAKED OUT. FORD GARAGE TOLD ME THAT STEERING RACK AND HOSES NEEDED REPLACED DUE TO EXTENSIVE CORROSION FROM SLURRY USED ON ROADS IN OHIO. WAS TOLD NO PREVENTIVE MEASURES WOULD HAVE AVOIDED THE PROBLEM WHICH WAS INEVITABLE. REPAIR COSTS WERE 1900 DOLLARS. COMPLAINT IS THAT I CONTEND THAT INFERIOR MATERIALS WERE USED FOR LINES. THIS IS A 7 Y/O VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE CORRODED IN VITAL AREA SUCH AS STEERING. COULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES UNDER HIGH SPEED DRIVING. WOULD SUSPECT THAT UNREPORTED INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. *TR
ON 9-26-14 THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON THEN WENT OFF AFTER 10-15 MINUTES. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES ON 9-26. AT 1PM ON 9-27 I STARTED THE TRUCK AND WITHIN 5-10 SECONDS THE AIRBAG EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK AS I WAS OPENING MAIL BEFORE LEAVING. I WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED BUT HAD A SORE RIGHT SHOULDER MOST OF THE DAY. FORD IS TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW AIRBAG AS THEY ARE ONLY GUARANTEED FOR 5 YEARS. MY TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2007 AND IT JUST TURNED 41000. THIS IS A MAJOR HAZARD AS I HAD NO WARNING OF DEPLOYMENT, ONLY MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON. I TOLD FORD OF I HAD TO PAY FOR THE AIRBAG THEN I WANTED ALL PARTS REMOVED. FORD IS GOING TO CALL ME ON 9-29-30. *TR
NOTICED LEAKAGE UNDER FRONT LEFT TIRE. ALL TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT. TRANSMISSION OIL LINE RUSTED THROUGH. HAD PREVIOUS LEAKAGE WHICH I REPAIRED WITH A PIECE OF HIGH PRESSURE LINE. CHECKED METAL LINES OF TRANSMISSION OIL COOLING SYSTEM AND FOUND NUMEROUS AREAS RUSTED OUT AND READY TO BURST. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO DEALER TO REPLACE COOLING SYSTEM LINES. WAS TOLD CORROSION IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE LINES ON F150. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FORD DOES NOT NOTIFY OWNERS ABOUT POSSIBLE PREVENTIVE ACTION TO DEAL WITH THE CORROSION OR USE NON-CORROSION MATERIALS FOR PRESSURE LINES. *TR
I WAS JUST LEAVING A BUSINESS. AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT MY STEERING HAD GOTTEN VERY STIFF AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TO CENTER AFTER TURNING A CORNER. IT WAS A LITTLE SCARY BECAUSE I HAD 50 MILES TO DRIVE AND GET BACK HOME. OUT OF THE BLUE THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM BEFORE THIS!!! *TR
GEAR SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AS I WAS EXITING VEHICLE. I HAD NOT YET CLOSED THE DOOR AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO MOVE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS CAUGHT BY THE DOOR AND DRAGGED ALONG UNTIL THE DOOR THREW ME TO THE GROUND, INJURING MY BACK. THE TRUCK CAME TO REST ON BOTH OF MY LEGS. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OUT MY LEFT LEG EASILY RESULTING IN JUST A FEW CUTS, SCRAPES AND PARTIAL BLACK AND BLUE SPOTS. WOUNDS ALL HEELED THEMSELVES. HOWEVER MY RIGHT WAS THOROUGHLY PINNED AND I HAD TO PULL LONG AND HARD TO REMOVE IT FROM UNDER THE TIRE RESULTING IN LOST FLESH AT MY ANKLE BONE TO RIGHT BELOW MY KNEE AND ABOUT 4 TO 5 INCHES WIDE. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING FROM NYS TO NJ, I NOTICED THAT IT BECAME HARDER TO STEER THE TRUCK AS THE TRIP PROGRESSED. WHILE ON 80E IN NJ IT BECAME SO SEVERE THAT TO CHANGE LANES AND TAKE AN OFF RAMP TOOK ALL THE STRENGTH I COULD MUSTER. I KNEW IT WASN'T MY POWER STEERING PUMP BECAUSE I CONTINUED TO LOSE RANGE OF STEERING MOTION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I LIMPED THE TRUCK TO A GAS STATION IN DENVILLE NJ. FLUID LEVEL WAS OK, BELT WAS GOOD AND TURNING PROPERLY ON THE PS PULLEY. I NOTICED THE TWO UNIVERSAL JOINTS ON THE STEERING SHAFT LOOKED CORRODED SO ON A HUNCH I POURED SOME MOTOR OIL ON BOTH U-JOINTS. THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM AND GOT ME OUT OF A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET KILLED BECAUSE THEIR STEERING IS GOING TO LOCK UP DUE TO THOSE U-JOINTS AND THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO STEER OUT OF A BAD SITUATION. *TR
BLEW #2 SPARK PLUG AND COIL OUT OF HEAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE UNIVERSAL STEERING SHAFT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. UPDATED 10/22/14*LJ
OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS I HAVE A FEW INCIDENTS WERE WHEN I PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE,IT ACTUALLY ROLLED FORWARD BEFORE I SLAMMED ON BRAKES; STOPPED; PUT GEAR SHIFT IN PARK; MOVED TO REVERSE AND WENT ON. BUT I ALWAYS HAD TO COMPLETELY STOP AND PARK. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN OFTEN - IN SEVEN YEARS, PERHAPS 8 OR 9 TIMES. THIS PAST FRIDAY WAS THE WORST, BUT I WAS FACING DOWN IN MY MOTHER'S DRIVE-WAY. BUT STILL...I CHECKED FOR A RECALL AND FOUND NONE. JUST FYI.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER COIL SPRING FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE SO I PULLED OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. I THEN SAW SMOKE LIKE THE ENGINE HAD OVERHEATED BUT IN A MATTER OF SECONDS FLAMES IGNITED AND I QUICKLY GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CALLED 911. AS I WAS SPEAKING TO THE DISPATCHER THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THE WHOLE FRONT OF MY TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE MY HOOD WAS TOTALLY BURNED UP THE ENGINE IS BURNED UP AND MELTED AND THE WINDSHIELD AND DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW BLEW OUT AND THE DASH AND FRONT INTERIOR IS BURNED AND MELTED. I AM LUCKY THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT IN TIME BECAUSE IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY. I AM ALSO GLAD MY 10 MONTH OLD SON WAS NOT WITH ME ON THIS DAY. *TR
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WENT TO CHANGE LANES AND STEERING FELT REALLY TIGHT COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. PULLED OVER AND CHECKED IT OUT STEERING FLUID WAS GOOD. WAS REALLY HARD TO STEER AND MADE IT HM. CHECKED OUT FORUM AND DECIDED TO SPRAY WD40 ON TURN BUCKLES ON STEERING SHAFT IT STARTED TURNING EASY AGAIN. WILL SEE IF IT LAST. HAVE A FRIEND WHO WORKS FOR THE CITY AS A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID FORD SENT PEOPLE IN TO CHANGE ALL THE CROWN VICS STEERING SHAFT SO THEY KNOW IT IS AN ISSUE. THEY NEED TO FIX ALL OF THE VEHICLES WITH THE PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN MY MOTOR TURNED OFF. I HAD NO STEERING AND LITTLE BRAKES TO GET ME OFF THE ROAD. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THE FUEL MODULE WAS CRACKED. THIS IS COMMON ON F150'S AND I FEEL FORD SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. THANKS *TR
BOTH FRONT SUSPENSION SPRINGS FOUND TO BE BROKEN DURING ROUTINE INSPECTION, HEARD ONE BREAK A MONTH AGO BUT DIDN'T IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE BREAK UNTIL RECENTLY. ONE BROKEN SPRING WAS HANGING BELOW THE SHOCK, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE SUSPENSION ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. *TR
NOTICED SEVERE GAS FUMES INSIDE CAB, AS WELL AS OUTSIDE CAB. RAISE HOOD , STARTED ENGINE AND NOTICED FUEL LEAK ABOUT THE SIZE OF A PENCIL STREAMING OUT FROM HOSE THAT IS ATTACHED TO FUEL RAIL. REMOVED FUEL RAIL THE NEXT DAY AND FOUND A SPLIT IN THE HOSE UNDER THE CLOTH PROTECTIVE OUTER LINING. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR FAILURE. ?. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS SITUATION IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LONGER DISTANCE ROAD TRIP. FAILURE P/N 5C3Z97F792DA FUEL RAIL. *TR
STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY THEN DIED. TRUCK RESTARTED AND DROVE TO A MECHANIC. WAS TOLD THAT THE ERROR CODES STATED THE CAM SENSORS AND EVERY ERROR FOR THEM CAME UP. HE PULLED UP A BLOG AND SAID THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE EXACT ERRORS. SOME DID A QUICK FIX TO SELL OTHERS NEED A NEW MOTOR. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAY A MEMO WENT TO DEALERS BUT UNTIL MORE COME UP THEY WON'T / CAN'T HELP. WAS TOLD IF I GET IT FIXED SAVE THE RECEIPTS. CALLED THE DEALER AND POSSIBLE $6,000-$7,000 FOR NEW MOTOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SKIDDED ACROSS THE ROAD INTO A DITCH WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE THEN FLIPPED OVER UPSIDE DOWN. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT INJURED HER RIGHT LEG AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
REPEATED FAILURE 2007 FORD F150 IGNITION COIL.HAVE REPLACED 3 IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY'S IN MY FORD F150. ONE IN "2011" AND 2 IN 2014. ( DO NOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE OF FIRST , WAS ABOUT 2011 ) SEARCHED THE NET AND READ TIME AFTER TIME FORD F150 OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SEEMS FORD MUST KNOW ABOUT ISSUE , BUT NOT FIXED OR RECALLED. MY 2014 IGNITION COIL REPAIR COST $94 EACH ONE PLUS LABOR. ( X3 SO FAR ) THIS YEAR , I WANTED 3 MONTHS WITH THE IGNITION COIL ISSUE TO GET THE TIME AND MONEY TO HAVE FORD FIX. *TR
IN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG, AND THEN CLATTERING. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A BLOWN SPARK PLUG. THE THREADS ON THE ENGINE HEAD AND SPARK PLUG WERE STRIPPED/SMASHED. THE COIL WAS COIL WAS ALSO DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. BOTH MECHANICS I SAW TO FIX THE PROBLEM WERE WELL AWARE OF PROBLEMS WITH BLOWN SPARK PLUGS IN THE F150, AND ON-LINE RESEARCH INDICATES THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE F150 SINCE 1997. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE FACTORY INSTALLED, AND I WAS SILL UNDER THE MILEAGE RECOMMENDATION FOR NEW PLUGS. VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT FORD WOULD NOT STEP-UP TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS THEIR PROBLEM AND PAY FOR THE FIX. STEERING COLUMN SHAFT HAS 2 UNIVERSAL JOINTS IN IT. THE JOINTS ARE NON SERVICEABLE AND SEIZED UP DUE TO CORROSION. THE TRUCK BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER AND THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NOT RETURN WHEN GOING AROUND A CORNER. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FROM A STOP, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION NEAR THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT ONE OF THE BOLTS THAT SECURED THE REAR END BECAME DETACHED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

I HAVE A 2007 F150 SUPERCREW CAB TRUCK. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE TRUCK MADE A HUGE GRINDING SOUND FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I THEN RECEIVED A TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT. THE TRUCK SLAMMED INTO A STOP CAUSING DRIVER AND PASSENGER TO BE TOSSED FORWARD. I HAVE READ ONLINE OF SEVERAL OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE 2007 F150 TRANSMISSIONS. FORD CLAIMS NO DEFECTS ON THIS MODEL YEAR. YET ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE SEVERAL FORD OWNERS WITH SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH TRUCK. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS TRANSMISSION ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT BAD. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WITH NO ACCIDENTS WITH TRUCK. TRUCK IS LOW MILEAGE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANG IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SPARK PLUG HAD ERRONEOUSLY EJECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SPARK PLUG COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK A NOTICEABLE NOISE WAS GENERATED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE TRUCK SHUT OFF. THE LOW OIL SENOR CAME ON DURING OPERATION. SHUT ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED NOISE STOPPED. *TR
THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE MOTOR ALREADY REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND O2 SENSORS AND THE SOUND IS STILL THERE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.WHEN THE TRUCK GAINS SOME SPEED THE TRUCK SHAKES DON'T FEEL REAL SAFE DRIVING IT LONG DISTANCES. *TR
VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING , LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE RIDE IN VERY COLD WEATHER , THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE WAS SO CORRODED AND BROKE OFF FRAME CAUSE VEHICLE'S ENGINE NOT TO RUN. THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ON THESE MODULES. MY TRUCK IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND YOU SHOULD SEE HOW BAD OF CONDITION THE MODULE LOOKS.. LOOKS LIKE IT WAS IN ACID AND COMPLETELY DISSOLVED THE BACK PANEL. *TR

THE TRUCK HAS BEEN RUNNING ROUGH AND STALLING OUT AT RANDOM. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, WHILE AT THE CAR WASH AND WHILE,SITTING AT THE STOP LIGHT, BUT EVERYTIME IT HAS BEEN WET OUTSIDE. TAKEN TRUCK TO FORD DEALERSHIP, AND HAD LOTS OF WORK DONE, NEW PLUGS, COILPACKS, INJECTOR SERVICE, AND THROTLEBODY CLEANING DONE WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. BROUGHT ISSUE TO A FRIEND AND TO ONE LOOK AT THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE UNDER THE REAR AXEL AND IT WAS SPLIT WIDE OPEN, BAD ENOUGH THE CIRCUIT BOARD WAS JUST HANGING OUT. WHEN ISSUE WAS BROUGHT TO LOCAL FORD DEALER, THE PARTS GUY JUST HAD A LAUGH AND SAID THEY DO AT LEAST THREE A WEEK. "I DIDN'T FIND IT THAT FUNNY" A CONTROL BOX WITH A ALUMINUM BACK PLATE ON A STEEL AXEL WITH NO BUFFER, IS JUST BAD DESIGN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
WHEN I STARTED MY ENGINE IT BACKFIRED. FROM THAT POINT ON I HAD TO PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST TO SLOW DOWN AND EVENTUALLY TO STOP. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION IT WOULD WITHOUT A DOUBT HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE INCIDENT IS EXACTLY AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V208000 (FORD RECALL #08S05) FOR THE SAME VEHICLE, EXCEPT MODEL YEAR 2005 AND 2006. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD I WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUGUST OF 2006, BUT THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. *TR
ENGINE QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AT 40MPH ON A COUNTRY ROAD. NO SHOULDER ON THIS ROAD SO HAD TO LEAVE IT SIT IN THE ROAD WHILE I WAITED FOR A TOW TRUCK. TOOK IT TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE PROBLEM WAS A CORRODED FUEL PUMP MODULE. $125.00 FOR THE TOW AND $350.00 TO FIX THE TRUCK. NOT A VERY GOOD DAY. *TR
THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STALLED. UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. AFTER BEING TOWED HOME, I FOUND THE FUEL PUMP MODULE CORRODED COMPLETELY THROUGH THE BACK SIDE. THE ALUMINUM BACK HOUSING WAS DETERIORATING BAD ENOUGH THAT IT CRUMBLED APART AS I WAS REMOVING IT. MY WIFE AND CHILDREN WERE IN THIS VEHICLE WHEN IT STOPPED. IT WAS 5 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND NOT SAFE TO WALK ANY DISTANCE FOR HELP ESPECIALLY ON OUR SECONDARY ROADS. THIS PART IS AN ENGINEERING FAILURE. THE ALUMINUM DOES NOT MATE WITH THE STEEL ON THE TRUCK FRAME. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AS TO THIS PART AND NO INVESTIGATION. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN LIFE THREATENING TO MY FAMILY. THE COLD, NO HEAT, AND SMALL CHILDREN ADD UP TO PROBLEMS. A VEHICLE OWNER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE LIKE THIS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COULD BE RECTIFIED BY CHANGING THE MATERIAL IT IS MADE OF. PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF THE MANY FAMILIES DRIVING THIS COMMON TRUCK, MAKE THE COMPANY OWN UP TO THE FAILURE OF THIS PART BEFORE IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURING SOMEBODY OR WORSE YET A CHILD OR INFANT. *TR

I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I AM 8MTHS PREGNANT AND WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR OVER A 1/2 HOUR IN -45 DEGREE WEATHER WAITING FOR TOW TRUCK, BECAUSE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. MECHANIC LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND FOUND #9 FUSE FOR FUEL PUMP BLOWN. FUSE REPLACED, AND VEHICLE RAN FOR 30SECONDS AND ELECTRICAL PLUG TO DRIVER CONTROL MODULE BEGAN TO SMOKE AND MELT. DRIVER CONTROL MODULE AND ELECTRICAL PLUG REPLACED, AND VEHICLE RUNS. I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY FORD TO AVOID MY STRANDED EXPERIENCE IN -45 DEGREE WEATHER. THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY RISK AND IT CAN BE AVOIDED. FORD SHOULD HAVE LOCATED THIS DEVICE NEAR THE FUSE BOX OR UNDER HOOD BY FIRE WALL PLENTY OF ROOM AND SAME AMOUNT OF WIRE. *TR
MY 2007 FORD F150 HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM, WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE SURGES FORWARD THE RPM GAUGE WILL FALL TO 400 RPM AND WITHOUT WARNING IT SURGES TO 1000 TO 1200 RPM MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL THE TRUCK, I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD, I AM A REPEAT FORD CUSTOMER, BUT WITH THIS PROBLEM WITH MY F150 IT HAS ONLY 35000 MILES FORD WILL LOOSE ME AS A CUSTOMER FOR SURE . *TR
I STARTED MY TRUCK AFTER WASHING IT, IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH SO I SHUT IT OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO A REPAIR GARAGE THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THE FUEL MODULE WAS BAD, AND HAD TO BE REPLACED IT. AFTER LOOKING ON LINE I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS FROM 2004-2008 MODELS. SOUNDS LIKE A POOR DESIGN. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED A LACK OF PRESSURE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, WATER FROM THE COOLING SYSTEM HAD LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
