TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY HARD TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE STEERING FLUIDS NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO ICE ON THE HIGHWAY AND FLIPPED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
HAVING ISSUE WITH THE TIMING,TIMING SOLENOIDS. I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE IN NOV. 2012. *TR
I HAD THE PUMP, RACK AND PINION REPLACED AND THE SENSOR. AFTER ALL THIS WAS REPLACED SOME TIME LATER THE STEERING GOT TIGHT . I TOOK IT BACK THE MECHANIC THOUGHT I HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM. HE SPRAYED A LUBRICANT ON BOTH UNIVERSALS ON THE STEERING SHAFT. WHEN IT GETS TIGHT AGAIN I WILL GO AND SATURATE THESE TWO UNIVERSALS WITH A SPRAY LUBRICANT. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK ENGINE STARTED TO SHAKE AND THEN A LOUD BANG .UPON INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE SPARK PLUG FOR CYLINDER 3 HAD BLOWN OUT(FORD RECOMMENDS SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT AT 100000 MILES HAD ONLY 65000 MILES) AFTER I GOT THE TRUCK HOME I CALLED FORDS HELPLINE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO TO HELP .HAD TO FIX AND PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF AND ALSO FOUND THAT THE CYLINDER #2 PLUG WAS DEFECTIVE TO. *TR
SON WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, ON THE FREEWAY, TRUCK WAS HIT FRONTEND MAJOR DAMAGE FRONTEND WAS "V" SHAPE IN ACCIDENT TO INCLUDE BOTH SIDES AND THROWN APPROX: 200+ ONE OF THE AIRBAG SENSORS IN LOCATED AT RADIATOR AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, FORD SAID THERE WAS A WARNING PRIOR TO ACCIDENT WHICH IS NOT TRUE IF THERE WAS A FLASHING FAULT LIGHT GOING OFF I ASSURED THEM I WOULD OF HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP ASAP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD LEAK POWER STEERING FLUID WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000. UPDATED 11/29/13*LJ THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON 10/18/13. UPDATED 12/02/13
THE VEHICLES STEERING SHAFT IS CORRODED AND LOCKS UP WHEN TURNING, CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD. FORD HAS RECALLED THE STEERING SHAFTS ON THEIR CROWN VICS, GRAND MARQUIS AND TOWN CARS. I FEAR THAT FORD USED THE SAME DESIGN AND MATERIAL FOR THE STEERING SHAFTS ON THE F150'S, WHICH WOULD CREATE A HECK OF A LOT MORE DAMAGE, INJURY AND/OR DEATH IF ONE WERE TO LOOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE. STEERING IS JUMPY AND LOCKS UP AT CERTAIN INTERVALS DURING THE STEERING ACTION. I HAVE LOST CONTROL, BUT WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH BRUTE STRENGTH. THIS PROBLEM MUST ME INVESTIGATED. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL THESE STEERING SHAFTS, AS THEY HAVE THE OTHERS. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY HAVE NOT INTENTIONS OF RECALLING THEM. *TR

TRUCK RANDOMLY STOPS RUNNING. *TR
ON THE ABOVE LISTED DATE, WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN A BUSY METROPOLITAN CITY MY DRIVE SHAFT CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ALLOWED THE DRIVE SHAFT OF MY 2007 FORD F150 TO SLIP BACKWARDS COMPLETELY DETACHING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. LUCKILY, MY SPEED AT THAT TIME WAS ONLY 10-15MPH. WHEN CALLING THE FOR DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT REPLACING THE PART OR ADVISE THE SALES PERSON WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN SELLING ME AN ENTIRE DRIVE SHAFT AND ADAMANTLY STATED THE PART IN WHICH I WAS SEARCHING WAS NOT OBTAINABLE IN NO POSSIBLE WAY. AFTER SEARCHING FOR THE EXACT PART ON FORD'S PARTS WEBSITE I DID LOCATE THE INDIVIDUAL PART ALLOWABLE FOR ORDER ONLINE. MY MAIN CONCERN AT THIS TIME IS THERE WAS NO REGARD FOR THE TREMENDOUS SAFETY HAZARD OF THIS PARTICULAR DEVICE OR PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, MOREOVER THERE WAS MORE CONCERN WITH OBTAINING A LARGER SELL. AFTER READING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS EXACT DEVICE OR PARTS PERTAINING TO IT'S FUNCTION BUT THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY RECALL OR INVESTIGATION REGARDING THESE MATTERS. I AM ONLY ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE DEFINITE SAFETY RISKS THAT ARE AT HAND AND TO ADVISE TO OTHER OWNERS OF THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR THIS POSSIBLE SAFETY HAZARD. ALSO, TO THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY, BEING A MASSIVE ENTITY IN THE VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT AND SALES INDUSTRY I WAS APPALLED TO LEARN OF NO EXISTING INVESTIGATIONS IN THIS MATTER. ON 08/14/13 I WAS AT A BANK IN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD CA. 94533, THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT IN THE PARKING LOT, WHICH IS A 1 DIRECTION ENTRANCE, MYSELF AND SEVERAL VEHICLES HAD TO BACK OUT OF THE LOT. AS I PRECEDED TO ACCELERATE TO EXIT THE LOT, I HEARD A LOUD THUMP. THE NEXT THING I KNEW WAS I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AS OTHERS WHO WERE IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE BANK APPROACHED ME AND ASKED IF THAT WAS MY DRIVE SHAFT HANGING DOWN. WHEN I BENT DOWN TO LOOK I NOTICED THAT IT HAD BROKEN AT THE WELD AT THE YOKE OF THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I RETURNED HOME AFTER BEING TOWED, I WENT ON LINE TO SEE OF ANY OTHER SITUATIONS OF DRIVE SHAFTS BRAKING ON FORD TRUCKS, AND I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL, WHICH ONE BROKE AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH MASSIVE VEHICLE DAMAGE. I WENT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO RECALLS WITH THAT ISSUE. BUT FORD HAS HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF A LOUD THUMPING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING PLACED IN GEAR WHICH IS ALL A RESULT OF DRIVELINE AND DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THIS HAD HAPPENED, THE DRIVE-LINE WOULD HAVE DUG INTO THE ASPHALT AND PERHAPS FLIPPED MY TRUCK. KILLING MYSELF AND PERHAPS OTHERS. I ALSO CALLED FORDS CUSTOMER CARE CENTER IN MICHIGAN, BUT THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO COMPLAINTS OR RECALLS. TO WHICH I INFORMED THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL BLOGS ON LINE OF PEOPLE HAVING DRIVE-LINE PROBLEMS ON THE FORD F150 TRUCKS. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT BACKING UP WHEN MY INCIDENT OCCURRED BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. I AM NOW PRESENTLY WITHOUT A VEHICLE UNTIL I AM ABLE TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE AND I HAVE A $600 MONTHLY CAR NOTE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A DEFECT THAT FORD NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE WAS LOW AND THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS LEAKING. THE ISSUE RECURRED ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE VALVE, WHICH ALSO BECAME FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGIN TO STALL AND SHAKE. THE CONTACT PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT SHUT THE OVER DRIVE FUNCTION OFF AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THE DEFECT CAME FROM THE POWER TRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,522.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. I WAS DRIVING THREW TOWN LAST JUNE & ALL THE SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & TRUCK STARTED RUNNING REALLY ROUGH & ACTED LIKE IT WAS STARVING FOR GAS OR FIRE SO I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A PARTS STORE & HAD CODE READ IT SHOWED A MISS FIRE @ #6 CYLINDER / SPARK PLUG IT COST ME ALMOST $1,200 TO GET IT FIXED . THAT WAS FOR ALL 8 PLUGS & COILS FOR REALLY NEEDS TO FIX THERE DESIGN FLAW ON THE 4.6L & 5.4L ENGINE THERE IS NO REASON A VEHICLE SHOULD COST THAT MUCH JUST TO CHANGE PLUGS JUST CAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO FIX THERE MESS UP TO MAKE IT MORE AFFORDABLE TO THE PUBLIC.THEY SAY TILL THE NHTSA ISSUES A RECALL THEY WILL IGNORE THE PROBLEM WITH THE SPARK PLUGS & ALL THE ISSUES THAT COME WITH THEM SINCE THEY CHANGED THE MOTORS DESIGNS. WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH OR LESS THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY MAY EMIT AN INTERMITENT GRINDING NOISE AS IF THE HUB IS TRYING TO LOCK INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. GRINDING NOISE STOPS WHEN VEHICLE IS SLOWED TO 15MPH OR LESS. SOMETIMES FULL STOP IS NEEDED TO CEASE GRINDING NOISE. WHEN NOISE STOP A JERK CAN BE FELT AS IF THE HUB LOCKS BACK INTO ITS PLACE. TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY RECOMMENDED BRINGING VEHICLE IN WHEN GRINDING NOISE WAS PRESENT. THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE THE NOISE WILL STOP WHEN I SLOW DOWN. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY WAY TO DIAGNOSE IT WITHOUT PAYING TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED AND MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT 3 YEARS AGO AT 43K MILES AND HAS APPROX. 80K CURRENT MILES. NOISE IS INTERMITTENT WITH OCCAISIONAL LONG PERIODS BETWEEN OCCURENCES. CAN HAPPEN WITHIN 5 MILES OF DRIVING OR AFTER 500 MILES OF DRIVING.
WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO STOP THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED. WE WERE OUT OF TOWN AND WITHIN A SHORT WHILE THE SAME THING HAPPENED 4 TIMES. NOW 2 MORE TIMES. THE DEALER SAID IT MIGHT BE THE THROTTLE CONTROL BOX BUT HE COULD DO A 75 DOLLAR DIAGNOSTIC TOO. I DECLINED. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT NOT AS BAD, I THOUGHT MY FOOT HIT THE GAS PEDAL WHICH IS DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE. *TR
THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFT CAN BE MOVED AT ANYTIME WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE OR THE RELEASE BUTTON BOTH WHEN DRIVING AT 60 MPH OR THE VEHICLE IS PARKED IN MY YARD. EASILY A CHILD CAN MOVE THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR AND START IT ROLLING OR BRING IT TO A DEAD STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY BY JUST BUMPING INTO IT. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP WITH THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WHICH WILL NOW COST ME OVER $800.00 TO FIX. THIS AMOUNT SEEMS EXCESSIVE AND I FEAR WILL KEEP MANY PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM FROM FIXING IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE OTHERWISE PERFORMS FINE. I HAVE CONTACTED SALVAGE COMPANIES WHO HAVE STATED THAT THEIR PRICE ON THIS PART IS WHAT IT IS BECAUSE THEY CAN SELL THESE PARTS ALL DAY INDICATING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. FORD WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE. HOW LONG SHOULD A SHIFTER LEVER LAST? I'M 48 YRS OLD, I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES SOME WITH MANY MORE MILES THAN THIS ONE AND I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS PART. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN PERSUADE THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND INSTITUTE A RECALL FOR THIS PART. *TR
WHILE DOING PMCS A SPARK PLUG EJECTED FROM THE MOTOR. I DONT LIKE BEING SHOT AT FROM MY TRUCK. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW. AT APPROX. 22000, I WAS DRIVING AT APPROX 50 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED A SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL. IN LESS THAN 1/4 MILE, THE ENGINE LOCKED BUT I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS LATE SATURDAY BUT AFTER 2-3 HOURS FOUND A TOW TRUCK AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND LEFT IT THEIR BACK LOT. I WAS TOLD THE NEXT WEEK THAT FORD WANTED THE ENGINE BACK INTACT. AFTER AROUND THREE WEEKS AND $800+ FOR A RENTAL I GOT THE TRICK BACK WITH A NEW ENGINE. 2800 MILES LATER, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. MY WARRANTY WAS OUT ON TIME BUT FORD DID REPLACE THE ENGINE AGAIN BUT I WAS OUT THE RENTAL CAR--AGAIN $800+. THIS WAS SOME 6 MONTHS BACK AND ALL IS OK FOR NOW BUT I WAS TOLD IF THE ENGINE BLOWS AGAIN FORD WILL NOT COVER IT. AND ON THE 2ND REPLACEMENT (3RD TOTAL) ENGINE THAT PISTONS WERE IN THE OIL PAN. 5.4 ENGINE. *TR
WENT TO START TRUCK AT HOME AND IT WOULD NOT START. ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START. I HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. TOLD BY THE FORD SERVICE MANAGER THAT IT PROBABLY WAS THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE LOCATED BY THE REAR SPARE TIRE AND THEY HAVE REPLACED MANY OF THEM. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED IT AND REPLACED THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE. MY COST $312.83. WE AVERAGE 160 INCHES OF SNOW PER YEAR. LONG WINTERS AND LOTS OF SALT. *TR
MY TRUCK ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN WHILE HITTING THE BRAKE, I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE MY NEW MAT SO I REMOVED IT AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. NOT SURE IF I HIT THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BRAKE? I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN IN ALL THE YEARS I DROVE FORDS OR GMC. YOUR FORM WOULD BE EASIER IF YOU COULD JUST TYPE IN INFO AND BOY I WISH THESE PROGRAMS WOULD GET RID OF THE STATE BOX AND LET US TYPE IT IN. *TR
BOUGHT THE T07 F150 AT 28K AND AT 61K THIS HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW GEAR 2ND THE ENGING CHUGGED A LITTLE ( LKE AN OLD DIESAL) TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY THE SMALL OIL SEAL BEHIND THE CAM. THEY WAS GOING TO CHARGE BE 5600 FOR A NEW ENGINE. THEY TRIED LIKE HE11 TO GET ME TO SAY I DIDNT HAVE THE OIL CHANGED REGULARLY. I NEVER BACKED DOWN, THEN REMINDED THEM THAT I HAD BOUGHT THE $2700.00 EXTENDED WARRENTY (WHICH I USUALLY NEVER DID) THEY BAUKED AND CRIED. BUY SAID THAT THEY WOULD FIND ANOTHER USED ENGINE, THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THAT THEY FOUND ONE FOR 3500 (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) I BEGAN A LONG SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND A REBUILD FOR LESS AND GAVE THEM THE INFORMATION. THEY DECIDED TO GO WITH THAT. THEY ORDERED THE ENGINE AND INSTALLED IT ( WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW THE REPLACEMENT HAD THE SAME PROB) THEY HAD TO PULL THAT ENGINE AND GET ANOTHER FROM THE COMPANY . TOOK AN EXTRA WEEK AND GOT THE TRUCK BACK ITS NOW AT 100K AND STILL RUNS WELL (SO I KNOW IT WASNT MY DRIVING) SO IT HAD TO BE THE INCORRECT PLACEMENT OF THAT SEAL FROM THE DEALER, WHICH WOULD LEAKED HOT OIL ONTO THE ENGINE AND CAUSE A FIRE. I LOOKED AT THE ORIGIONAL PAPER WORK THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE TH ORIGIONAL WIRING HARNESS BEFORE IT EVEN LEFT THE FACTORY.

HAULING MY DAUGHTER'S BASKETBALL TEAM BACK FROM KING CITY, CA ON US 101 NORTHBOUND. ACCELERATED TO MERGE ON TO HIGHWAY, ENGINE COUGHED, LURCHED, COUGHED, LURCHED, SHOOK AND FINALLY PROCEEDED. MY 2007 FORD F-150 XLT 5.4 TRITON WAS BROUGHT IN FOR A ROUTINE TUNE UP. WHEN REMOVAL OF THE SPARK PLUGS 6 OF 8 BROKE OFF. THE MECHANICS ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE THE BROKEN PARTS BUT COULD NOT. NOW I AM TOLD I NEED TO HAVE THE HEADS OF THE MOTOR TAKEN OFF AND OR HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED. THIS MOTOR HAS RUN FINE EXCEPT FOR MIS FIREING SPARK PLUGS. THE OTHERS ONLY ONE TURN. THERE SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM FOR MULTIPLE YEARS OF FORD F-150 TRUCKS. THE SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY REDESIGNED FOR MODEL YEAR 2009 AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GONE. UNFORTUNATELY, I BELIEVE THE DESIGN IS ALSO CONNECTED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL PROBLEM REPORTED ALSO TO THE NHTSA FOR THIS YEAR (2007) MODEL F-150. UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE IT IS CLASSIFIED AS A BRAKING PROBLEM, THE WARRANTIES (FACTORY AND EXTENDED) DO NOT COVER THE EXPENSE OF MACHINING OR REPLACING THE ROTORS. THREE TIMES SINCE JANUARY 1, 2013 MY FORD F-150 HAS ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. EACH TIME I WAS TRAVELING LESS THAN 10 MPH. EACH TIME I HAD TO PUT THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN IT OFF. WAS EXPERIENCING A SHUTTER SIMILAR TO THE FEELING OF A MISFIRE WHEN ACCELERATING UP A GRADE FROM LEVEL ROAD CONDITIONS. THIS SHUTTER WAS BETWEEN 1250 AND 1500 RPM. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHO ELIMINATED COIL PACK AND TORQUE CONVERTER AS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. I HAD TAKEN ANOTHER VEHICLE I OWN TO A REPAIR SHOP I HAVE USED FOE SEVERAL YEARS FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE I MENTIONED THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH MY 2007 FORD F150 AND THEY ADVISED THAT MY PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY MISFIRE ON ONE OR MORE PLUGS. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY HAD DEALT WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. THEY PROCEEDED TO INFORM ME THAT THERE WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH REPLACING THE PLUGS-THEY COULD BREAK WHEN REMOVING. IF THAT HAPPENS AND IT DID (4 PLUGS BROKE) THEN ADDITIONAL LABOR COSTS WOULD BE ADDED TO MY BILL. END RESULT A BILL FOR $600.00 TO REPLACE 8 SPARK PLUGS. ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. AS A PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE I HAVE LEARNED THAT FORD MFG THIS ENGINE FROM 2005-2007 AND WHEN THIS ISSUE BEGAN TO SURFACE THAT THEY CHANGED THE ENGINE DESIGN TO ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. FORD WAS OBVIOUSLY AWARE THAT A FUTURE PROBLEM WAS GOING TO BE FACED BY THE CONSUMER. WHY SHOULD WE THE CONSUMER HAVE TO BEAR THE FULL EXPENSE TO PAY FOR THEIR FLAWED DESIGN IN THIS ENGINE. THEY SHOULD BE WILLING TO ADMIT THEIR MISTAKE BUT APPARENTLY IT IS GOING TO TAKE SOME LEGAL PRESSURE TO GET THIS DONE. IF THEY DO NOT STEP UP I WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER FORD.
ON MY 2007 FORD F 150 SPORT I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. I STRUCK A LIGHT POLE ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE ON THE RIGHT FRONT BUMPER AND THE RIGHT FRONT PANEL. AFTER HITTING THE POLE, I WENT DOWN A HILL AND HIT TREES FROM THERE. IT DID MORE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK YET STILL NOTHING FROM THE AIRBAGS. IT WAS ENOUGH FORCE TO CRUSH THE HOOD, AND THE ENTIRE RIGHT PANEL. THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND 1 PERSON WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. FROM WHAT I AM READING, IT TAKE 18-20 LBS OF PRESSURE TO HAVE THEM DEPLOY. I HAVE FACTORY 20 INCH FORD WHEELS ON THIS TRUCK. THESE ARE THE 20 INCH WHEELS THAT CAME ON THE TRUCK NEW. FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILURE RESULTING IN ENGINE STALLING CAUSING LOSS OF POWER AND CONTROL TO STEERING AND BRAKING FUNCTIONS AT HIGH SPEED AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE ON THE TRUCK FAILED AT INTERMITTENT AND ERRATIC INTERVALS, CAUSING IMMEDIATE SHUT OFF OF FUEL TO THE ENGINE. CONTROL FUNCTIONS, PARTICULARLY POWER STEERING WERE COMPROMISED AND ACCIDENTS WERE BARELY AVOIDED. THE ENGINE WOULD EVENTUALLY RESTART- UP TO THE POINT THAT THE MODULE FAILED COMPLETELY. THE FIRST FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AROUND 14000 MILES IN 2010. THE SECOND WAS JUST REPLACED AT 24446 MILES. THE COST TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE IS APPROXIMATELY $500.
2007 F150 5.4 ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK DOES NOT SEAT INTO THE DIPSTICK TUBE PROPERLY,APPROX 1/2", CAUSING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL TO ALWAYS SHOW 1/2 QUART LOW LEVEL. *TR
THE MOLDING WITH BUILT IN HANDLE BROKE WHILE I WAS GETTING INTO MY TRUCK. I FELL BACKWARD AND CAUGHT MYSELF ON THE TRUCK DOOR SO THAT I WOULD NOT FALL ONTO THE PARKING LOT. THE PART NUMBER IS 4L3Z-1503599-AAA. I REPAIRED THE TRUCK PUT IN NEW MOLDING. *TR
