TOOK TO DEALER FOR CHECK ENGINE LITE. THEY FOUND FPCM READY TO CRACK IN HALF. TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY THE TRUCK MADE IT TO THE SHOP. EXCESSIVE CORROSION BETWEEN FRAME AND MODULE RESULT OF A VERY POOR DESIGN. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. SHOULD BE A RECALL. THEY CLAIM THEIR REPLACING 2 TO 3 A WEEK. THIS DEALER DIDN'T EVEN PUT UPGRADE SPACER BOLTS ON. HERE I THOUGHT THEY WERE HELPING ME! *JS
VEHICLE SHAKES AT LOW SPEED VIOLENTLY. DID RESEARCH ON THE WEB THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD TRUCKS. STORIES OF GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALER FOR SHAKING NEW TRUCK TO EXPENSIVE REPAIRS THAT DIDN'T REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I'M A FAMILY MAN WITH 6 KIDS AND LIMITED MEANS WHICH MEANS I WILL ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS MYSELF BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD A PRO-TECH TO TELL ME THE SHAKING IS NORMAL FOR FORD TRUCKS AS IN THE STORIES POSTED ALL OVER WEB DATING BACK SEVERAL YEARS. I'M STILL PAYING FOR MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT ANOTHER YEAR $647.00 A MONTH BOUGHT IT NEW IN 07 ZERO DOWN WHICH IT SEEMS THAT I WILL END UP WITH ZERO. WIFE AND KIDS CAN'T RIDE IN THE TRUCK UNTIL I FIX IT BECAUSE SHE HAS DONE SOMETHING IN ONE DAY THAT IT SEEMS IS TAKING YOU GUYS SEVERAL YEARS TO DO. SHE DEEMED OUR FAMILY CAR UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS. OH WELL I SUPPOSE THERE MIGHT BE A CERTAIN AMOUNT A PEOPLE THAT HAVE TO DIE FIRST BEFORE THIS AGENCY ACTS. I REMEMBER THE ROLL OVER TIRE THING. LETS HOPE I'M NOT ONE OF THEM BECAUSE THAT WOULD LEAVE MY WIFE ON THE HOOK FOR REST OF THE TRUCK PAYMENTS SHE'S A GREAT STAY AT HOME MOTHER BUT THAT'S NOT GONNA PAY OFF THIS TRUCK MC SHAKY. VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN A PARKING SPOT AT A POST OFFICE. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT GIVE IT ANY GAS AND THE ENGINE REVVED TO 6000 RPM'S. NOT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED, I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. I STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT DID THE SAME THING BUT STARTED TO COME DOWN IN THE RPM'S BUT I STILL TURNED ENGINE OFF. I STARTED IT A THIRD TIME AND IT REVVED AGAIN BUT CAME BACK TO NORMAL RPM'S. ALL THIS WITHOUT GIVING IT ANY GAS. IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY OTHER F-150 THAT IS A 2005 WHICH I WILL ALSO FILE A DETAILED REPORT ON FOLLOWING THIS REPORT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLEBODY AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY SAID OTHER FORDS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FORD HAS NOT DONE A RECALL AND HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS PROBLEM. AS YOU WILL SEE IN MY REPORT ON MY 2005, IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATALITY DUE TO THIS ISSUE. LOOKING AT BLOGS IN THE INTERNET, OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE 2005 APPROACHING A STOP SIGN ENTERING INTO A VERY BUSY STREET AND THE ENGINE REVVED AND PULLED THE VEHICLE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC BEFORE MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO DEPRESS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE SAME ISSUE ACCORDING TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WAS THE THROTTLEBODY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC STOP, THE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO PARK, TURNED OFF AND ONCE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE RESUMING NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE FAILURE BUT COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,750.
ELECTRICAL WIRING ON THE FRAME UNDER DRIVERS DOOR WIRES ARE CORRODING . MANY OF THE 2007 FORD F150 HAS UNDER LAY WIRES GOING TO THE FUEL TAKE TO THE COMPUTER UNDER THE HOOD. *TR
THE CRANKSHAFT THRUST BEARING MALFUNCTIONED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND BACK TO MY HOUSE. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER. I HAVE BEEN DOING ALOT OF ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALOT OF THE F150'S FROM 2005-2008. MAINLY ON THE TRITON 5.4L V8. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD BUT THEY SAY THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW OF ANY PROBLEMS. MY TRUCK WAS NOT UNDER A WARRANTY AND FORD WILL NOT COVER IT. I AM TRYING TO GET THEM TO RECALL THESE ENGINES TO HELP THE MANY OTHERS OUT THERE THAT HAVE HAD TO SHELL OUT $6000+ DOLLARS AS I HAVE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A 15 MPH (1000 RPMS) TRUCK WOULD KNOCK AND TRY TO STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WOULD HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO KEPT IT FROM STALLING OR PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND PRESS THE GAS TO KEEP IT FROM STALLING. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP ON 4/24/2007 AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAM PHASERS WERE THE PROBLEM OF MY ENGINE TRYING TO STALL. AS I DID MY RESEARCH ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE 5.4L 3 VALVE ENGINES FROM FORD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE INCREASED ACCELERATION AFTER CONTINUALLY APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
CAB CORNER RUST OUT ROCK PALL RUST OUT WHEN I PAY 38000 GRAND FOR A TRUCK NEW OFF THE LOT NOW WITH 30000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE THAT MUCH RUST COME TO FIND OUT ON THE BACK OF THE CAB CORNER THERE A GAP WHERE WATER LEAK IN TO THE ROCKER AND THE WATER LAYS IN THERE AND RUST OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR AND HOW HARD WOULD OF BEEN TO RUN A BEAD OF SEAM SEALER FOR WATER COULD OF GOT DOWN IN THERE. *TR
2007 F 150 KING RANCH SPARK PLUGS BREAK WHEN REMOVING THEM (FORD CHEAP SPARK PLUG SYSTEM). THE TRUCK ALSO PULL/TUGS LIKE IF YOUR TRANSMISSION IS MISSING HOWEVER, I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IGNITION COIL ISSUES. THEY SAID I NEED TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS. THESE SPARK PLUGS FORD SAID WAS TO LAST 100,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW. HAS 4 WINTERS ON IT. COST ME $421.12 TO FIX AT A FORD DEALER, PLUS ANOTHER $54.00 TO HAVE TOWED TO DEALER. BAD PLACEMENT OR DESIGN OF PLACEMENT. 118,000 MILES I EXPECT TO START REPLACING PARTS, BUT NOT THIS. WHY SHOULD PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN COLD CLIMATES BE PENALIZED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SPORADICALLY, THE GEAR SHIFTER COULD NOT BE MOVED OUT OF PARK. THE CONTACT NOTICED ALUMINUM SHAVINGS AROUND THE GEAR SHIFTER AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE GOING 65 MPH HERE ALOUD POP . ENGINE EJECTED OUT SPARKPLUG CAUSING DAMAGE TO CYL. HEAD. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TRUCK IT SHUT OFF SUDDENLY WITHOUT AND WARNING, DRIVER FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THIS UNIT IS LOCATED IN AN AREA THAT IS HIGHLY CORROSIVE AND HAS NO PROTECTION AGAINST THE ELEMENTS. WHEN THIS PART FAILED I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT A LOW SPEED HOWEVER I WAS TOLD IT CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME AT ALL. ONCE THIS PART GOES THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY INOP. I HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED IN TO THE DEALER AND THE PART REPLACED AT A COST OF $356.00 LABOR $125.00 PARTS. I WAS ALSO TOLD I WAS LUCKY IT TOOK THIS LONG AND HAD BETTER PLAN ON DOING IT AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS IT IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH ALL FORD TRUCKS. FORD REDESIGNED THE PART BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AS IT IS ONLY NICKEL COATED AND OFFERS NO PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSE TO ALL POWER SYSTEMS. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER CONTROL MODULE IS THE CAUSE OF THIS. THEY FURTHER STATED IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL OR SOME THING FOR THE NORTHERN STATES. ALSO REPLACED WAS THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR(P0191 CODE). STILL NO RESOLVE TO ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ONLY WAY THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED IS IF THE CONTACT COULD PROVIDE THE MANUFACTURE WITH PROOF THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING AN OIL CHANGE PERFORMED EVERY THREE MONTHS AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE ON FORD F150. MY CONCERN IS I BROKE DOWN ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE OF CONTROL MODULE FAILURE. ON A 2007 MODEL. LITTLE SCARY ON THE FREEWAY. I THINK SOME ONE SHOULD LOOK IN TO MAYBE A RECALL ON THIS PART. SO NO ONE ELSE WILL EXPERIENCE THE SCARY BRAKE DOWN I HAD ON THE FREEWAY [I-75]. *TR
THE TRUCK BEGAN TO MAKE A CRACKLING SOUND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRUCK MOVED VERY SLOW. THE TRUCK CUT OFF THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DORDS COMPANY THE NEXT DAY. WAS TOLD IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I NEEDED (3) SPROCKETS TO ADJUST THE TIMING BELT. ON MONDAY I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR THAT ONE WAS ALL CHIMED UP. I ASKED WHY I EXPLAINED I CHANGED MY OIL AT THE APPROPRIATE TIMES THE TRUCK IS AT 80,000 MILES. *TR
ENGINE MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE. I WAS TOLD BY A FORD DEALER THAT THEY CAN'T REPAIR IT BECAUSE FORD DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. I WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALER TO DRIVE IT TILL IT QUITS. THE ENGINE COULD LOCK UP AT ANY TIME, POSSIBLY ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT DETERMINED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE MISFIRING ON THE SIXTH AND EIGHTH CYLINDERS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
CHANGED THE SPARKPLUGS ON OUR 2007 FORD F-150, AND SPARKPLUG BROKE OFF IN THE HEAD, HAD TO BUY A SPECIAL TOOL TO REMOVE IT. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS AND ARE CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE TO OTHER VEHICLES. HOW CAN FORD AND MOTORCRAFT GET AWAY WITH A POOR DESIGN WHILE CONSUMERS HAVE TO SUFFER AND FOOT THE BILL FOR THEIR MISTAKES. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. *KB
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED FROM LOCAL FORD DEALER 10 MONTHS PRIOR (75,000 MILES), AND WAS A DEALER MAINTAINED VEHICLE. I DROVE VEHICLE 3,000 MILES SINCE PURCHASE. WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN AND SEVERE VIBRATION MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL VEHICLE TO SIDE OF ROAD BUT COULD NOT MOVE VEHICLE > 1 MPH WITHOUT SEVERE VIBRATION. PROBLEM WAS FROM COMPLETE FAILURE OF DRIVE SHAFT CENTER SUPPORT BEARING. THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS INDICATIONS OF IMPENDING FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED AND COMPLETE. I HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT VEHICLE CONTROLLABILITY SHOULD A BEARING FAILURE OCCUR AT HIGHWAY SPEED. IN ADDITION THE BEARING IS LOCATED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE FUEL TANK. SHATTERED BEARING PARTS COULD POTENTIALLY PENETRATE THE FUEL TANK. THE BEARING IS A NON-SERVICEABLE PART AND THE ENTIRE DRIVESHAFT MUST BE PURCHASED AT A COST OF $1,000, MAKING BEARING CHANGE PRIOR TO FAILURE HIGHLY UNLIKELY. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 FORD F-150 WITH A 5.4L V8 ENGINE. THERE WAS INTERMITTENT RATTLE NOISE (KNOCKING) AND ROUGH IDLE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WARMS UP AND I COME TO A STOP OR SLOW ROLL THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE AND A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE IS HEARD IN THE ENGINE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE AND FORD DENIES IT IS. I HAD IT FIXED IN SEPTEMBER 2011, WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY WITH 49,934 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING AND CURRENTLY HAS 82,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS INFORMED BY BOTH THE DEALER AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEY WILL NOT REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS PRIOR ISSUE DURING THE WARRANTLY TIME. DEALER WANTS APPROXIMATELY $300.00 TO INSPECT TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT HAPPENS DURING SLOW SPEEDS OR IDLE AT STOP LIGHTS AND ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT STOP IS TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE OR REV UP THE RPMS. I BELIEVE THE TSB WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE IN 2010 BUT THE MANUFACTURE HAS NOT NOTIFIED CONSUMERS. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND FORD MOTOR NEEDS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE ENGINE AT THEIR COST. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE AIR BAG CODE- 16 WARNING MESSAGE INTERMITTENTLY FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OCCUPANCY SEAT SWITCH FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE ENTIRE SEAT WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR WAS THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
VEHICLE DOES NOT START, AFTER SPENDING WEEKS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVING THE PCM REPLACED...IT RAN FOR A FEW DAYS AND NOW AGAIN IT WILL NOT START. THE DRIVER IS STRANDED AGAIN OUT ON A REMOTE JOB SITE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING NOW FOR TWO YEARS. FORD HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED. *TR
2007 FORD F150 @54,000 MILES ROTORS, BRAKES, TOP BALL JOINTS, BOTTOM BALL JOINTS UPPER LEVER ARM, AND NOW MY FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP LUCKY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT , AND SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE PRESSED ON GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL AT SAME TIME BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CLOSE TOGETHER. BOTH THE LOCKING UP OF THE BRAKES AND SUDDEN ACCELERATION ARE VERY DANGEROUS. THE MILEAGE IS 54,000 AND HAVE HAD ALL THESE PROBLEMS. IS FORD NOT TELLING THE CUSTOMER OF THESE DANGEROUS PROBLEMS. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A MINIMUM OF 200 NO START CONDITIONS SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 20 OR MORE TIME FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEY CAN NOT OR WILL NOT FIX IT. *KB
VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER FOR TUNE UP WHICH WAS QUOTED AT A MINIMUM TO BE $500 FOR PARTS AND LABOR DUE TO KNOWN ENGINEERING FLAW WITH THE SPARK PLUGS. SPARK PLUGS BREAK WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE AND ONE PLUG REMAINED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. THIS LEAD TO REPLACING THE HEAD WITH A FINAL TOTAL OF $3,500. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MODEL YEARS 2004-2008 AND FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR DISCLOSED THIS KNOWN DEFECT. PREVIOUSLY INSTRUCTED BY DEALER TO NOT HAVE PLUGS CHANGED UNTIL ENGINE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE BEGIN TO JERK. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED THAN PROCEEDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. SPARK PLUGS BROKE WHEN CHANGING. I'VE HAD MANY FORD VEHICLES AND CHANGED SPARK PLUGS ON A FEW AND NEVER HAVE I ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE BEFORE.
MY WIFE AND BABY WERE TRAVELING DOWN THE 405 FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE TRUCKS DASHBOARD LIT UP AND THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE FAST LANE. THE GAS PEDAL DID NOTHING AND THERE WAS NO WAY OUT OF THE FAST LANE SAFELY. I NORMALLY WOULDN'T FILE A COMPLAINT EXCEPT IN THIS SITUATION WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS "CERTIFIED" USED VEHICLE, IT PUT MY FAMILY IN EXTREME DANGER, AND THE SERVICE CONSULTANT AT FORD HAD INDICATED TO ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F150 MODEL. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY OR ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SENSOR THAT HAD GONE OUT AND THAT THE SERVICE CONSULTANT HAD SEEN IT ON FORD F150 TRUCKS RANGING FROM BRAND NEW TO OLDER MODELS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BRAKES LOCKED, AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A SLOW STOP. A LOCAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW HOSE WAS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,397.

CONSUMER WRITES TO EXPRESS DISSATISFACTION WITH LOCAL DEALER *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, HE IMMEDIATELY COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER ABOUT NOT BEEN ABLE TO READ ONE GAUGE DURING DAYLIGHT BECAUSE OF THE COLOR ARRANGEMENT. FORD SPARK PLUGS BLOW OUT OF HEAD BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THE CORRECT PLUGS FROM FACTORY AND ARE NOT TIGHTEN CORRECTLY. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.
THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED A NO STARTING CONDITION 40-50 TIMES SINCE WE PURCHASE IT. IT HAS BEEN TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES(20 OR MORE) FOR THE CONDITION. THIS VEHICLE IS OPERATED BY THE CHARLESTON COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND HAS REPEATEDLY STRANDED OUR EMPLOYEE AT REMOTE LOCATIONS AROUND THE COUNTY AND PREVENTED THE EMPLOYEE FROM RESPONDING TO WORK ASSIGNMENTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED BECAUSE THE CONTACT PERFORMED THE OIL CHANGES TO THE VEHICLE AND USED A FRAM OIL FILTER, WHICH UTILIZED CARDBOARD IN THE FILTER AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE CONTACT HAD NOT HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND GRABBED THE PULL UP HANDLE LOCATED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR. AS THE CONTACT GRABBED THE HANDLE, THE HANDLE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, A FUEL LEAK WAS DISCOVERED. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED A TOWING SERVICE AND THE TOWING COMPANY CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT APPROVED OF THE VEHICLE BEING TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY. THE MECHANIC NOTICED TWO HOLES IN THE FUEL LINE AND THE FUEL LINE WAS REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE CONTACT HAD NO FURTHER ISSUES. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL LINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED OR MADE WITH SHEET METAL BECAUSE AN ANIMAL WAS ABLE TO CHEW THROUGH THE FUEL LINES, CAUSING A LEAK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,200.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY JERKED AND PULLED THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT, WHICH CAUSED HIM TO CRASH INTO A FENCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY F150 WITH ABOUT 45000 MILES HAS TWICE HAD AN ENGINE SURGE AS I PULLED TO STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IT BASICALLY REVS TO ABOUT 4500 RPM FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THE CHARGED ME ABOUT $140 TO RESET MY COMPUTER CHIP. THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND BASICALLY I SHOULD PAY 300+ AND REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. I'M CERTAIN THERE IS A DEFECTIVE CHIP OF SOME SORT SO REPLACING A MECHANICAL DEVICE WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I'M GLAD I READ THESE BULLETINS BECAUSE I KNOW THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR RECALL. I AM SAVING THIS EMAIL IN CASE I DAMAGE PROPERTY OR RUN SOMEONE OVER AT AN INTERSECTION OR PARKING LOT. PLEASE RESPOND TO ME TO LET ME KNOW WHAT IT WILL TAKE FOR A RECALL TO OCCUR. SEAT BELT IS FRAYING ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE BELT. THE BELT RUBS AGAINST ITS PLASTIC RETAINER GUIDE. *TR
AIR VENT ADJUSTMENT FAILURE, REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF PLENUM CHAMBER. CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WAS THE FAILURE OF THE ADHESIVE ON TWO FOAM PIECES ATTACHED TO TWO AIR BLEND DOORS WHICH JAMMED BECAUSE THE FOAM FELL OFF AND PREVENTED THE DOORS FROM MOVING. IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AT A COST OF JUST UNDER $1000. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD FOR HELP IN COVERING THIS EXPENSE AND THEY HAVE DENIED IT SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL NOTICE OUTSTANDING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AND DECELERATING IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BRAKES BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE CAM-SHAFT POSITION SENSOR, THE CRANK SENSOR, THE TIMING SOLENOIDS AND THE VALVE GASKET. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL SPORADICALLY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AS IF IT WERE A DIESEL ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
DRIVELINE HAS BEEN VIBRATING AT 55 MPH FOR MONTHS. FORD SERVICE TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIRES, SO I PUT A NEW SET OF TIRES ON MY 2007 F150 KING RANCH SUPERCREW. STILL NOT THE PROBLEM. HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY THE TIRE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE DRIVELINE NEEDED REBALANCING. THE TRUCK IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS. PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 50000 MILES - OUT OF WARRANTY OF COURSE. A RECALL SHOULD BE INSTATED FOR FORD TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL AND THEY COULD ONLY PROVIDE A 20 PERCENT DISCOUNT.
