The contact stated that while performing a tire rotation, the contact discovered sidewall bulges and tread separation on both rear tires. The vehicle was taken to the tire retailer, where it was determined that the rear tires were defective and needed to be replaced. The contact replaced both rear tires. 275/65/R18 116T First purchased 4 Cooper Adventurer H/T tires mileage was currently 199201 on May/2020. Only driven for work commute of 25miles. Cooper Adv H/T brand first replacement on front tires only due to one of the tires having bulging on the side wall of the tire, was informed possible defect and then it was changed to being worn out by possible construction/bad roads. 24450 mileage at the time of replacement on Aug/2022. There was a replacement of the second front tire In between the time period and was told by a different manager it was not a defect whom seemed hostile when I mentioned the first manager mentioned the last tire had a possible bulge defect. Paid normally price no discount. Currently now have the same bulging on front driver side wall from those replacements along with a watermark lining on the wall of the tire and mileage now is just around 255120.

HANKOOK DYNAPRO AS P235-70-R17S TIRE WITH APPROXIMATELY 60% WEAR (ACCORDING TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND TIRES REPLACED). DURING NORMAL DRIVING NOTICED ABNORMAL BUMPING THAT APPEARED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH TIRE OR FRONT END. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP TO CHECK BALANCE AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT. TECH FOUND THE ABOVE DESCRIBED TIRE HAD SEPARATED AND THE STEEL BELTING WAS PROTRUDING THROUGH THE TREAD AND TOP OF SIDEWALL. TIRE WAS ABOUT TO FAIL. DRIVER CONTACTED HANKOOK AND FORWARDED A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE TIRE TO THE REPRESENTATIVE. HANKOOK AGREED TO A 40% REFUND OF THE AMOUNT THAT FORD PAID (NOT WHAT I PAID) FOR THE TIRE IF I WOULD RETURN THE TIRE OR A PIECE FROM IT CONTAINING THE DOT NUMBER. FORD TOOK THE TIRE FOR RETURN TO HANKOOK. THREE WEEKS HAVE PASSED AND I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM FORD OR HANKOOK. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE WAS LOW AND THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS LEAKING. THE ISSUE RECURRED ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE VALVE, WHICH ALSO BECAME FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
I HAVE FACTORY 20 INCH FORD WHEELS ON THIS TRUCK. THESE ARE THE 20 INCH WHEELS THAT CAME ON THE TRUCK NEW. TWO OF THE FACTORY WHEELS HAVE HAD CRACKS THAT APPEAR ON THE WHEEL WHERE THE TIRE BEAD MEETS THE WHEEL. I DO NOT ABUSE MY TRUCK. MY 2007 FORD F150 JUST EXPERIENCED ITS 3RD VALVE STEM FAILURE FROM A TOPSEAL AUTO PARTS TR414 VALVE STEM THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY MANUFACTURED BY SHANGAI BAOLONG AUTOMOTIVE CORPORATION. I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM FORD TO CHECK MY VALVE STEMS BACK ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO, BUT ALL OF THEM APPEARED OKAY AT THE TIME I CHECKED THEM AND AS I RECALL THE BULLETIN DID NOT INSIST THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE INSPECTED BY A DEALER. I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST VALVE STEM FAILURE ON 9/6/09 REQUIRING A NEW TIRE. MY DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TOUGH LUCK, SAYING I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR IT TO BE CHECKED BY THEM. I HAD TO REPLACE THAT TIRE MYSELF FOR ABOUT $185. I THEN REQUESTED THAT THE 3 REMAINING STEMS BE REPLACED BY THE FUGATE MOTORS DEALERSHIP IN EL DORADO SPRINGS, MO. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN WARRANTY IN SEPTEMBER 2009. THE DEALER LOOKED AT THE VALVE STEMS BUT SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT STEMS AND SAID THEY HAD CHECKED THE 3 REMAINING STEMS AND THEY WERE FINE AND DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE RETURNING FROM COLORADO LAST WEEK I EXPERIENCED ANOTHER FAILURE ON 6/24/10 REQUIRING A CHANGED VALVE STEM AT A WALMART AND AND A 3RD FAILURE ON 6/25/10 WHICH WILL REQUIRE ANOTHER NEW TIRE. THE DEALER AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY NOW DENY ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR A SHREDDED TIRE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS WRECK. THEY ALSO POINTED OUT THAT MY TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR MAY BE BAD DUE TO THE EXTENT OF THE TIRE SHREDDING. THEY NOW ALSO REMIND ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I BOUGHT A USED FORD 2007 F-150 SUPER CREW CAB 4X4. NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON BY THE DEALER. I HAVE HAD THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS OF THE TIRE VALVE STEMS BREAKING AND CAUSING DEFLATION WHILE IN MOVEMENT. AFTER TWO BREAKING I WENT TO THE DEALER AND COMPLAINED. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO REASON OR COMPLAINTS OF THIS OCCURRING.WHILE TRAVELING OUT OF STATE I HAD A THIRD STEM BREAK. EACH TIME I HAD NEW STEMS REPLACED. I BEGAN RESEARCHING FOR MYSELF AND FOUND AN ARTICLE WHICH STATED THAT FORD HAD COMPLAINTS OF DEFECTIVE VALVE STEMS ON ALMOST ALL THEIR VEHICLES INCLUDING MERCURY'S. AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS AND COMPLAINTS TO MY DEALER I WENT TO A LOCAL TIRE DISTRIBUTOR AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING ALL RUBBER VALVE STEMS WITH BRASS HIGH PRESSURE VALVE STEMS. AFTER DOING THIS I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM. THE COST FOR RUBBER STEMS ARE AROUND $1.50 EACH AND I PAID $6.00 EACH FOR THE GOOD STEMS. THIS IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY. 2007 FORD F-150. SEVERE WHEEL SHAKE WAS REPORTED. UPON INSPECTION FOUND OUTER WHEEL RIM WAS SEPARATING FROM WHEEL. DISCOVERED LARGE CRACK IN THE WELD. THIS IS THE THIRD WHEEL FROM DEFERENT TRUCKS OF SAME YEAR VINTAGE WITH THIS PROBLEM. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT DECLINED TO DUE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE HAVE HAD A EQUAL AMOUNT OF BOTH 2006 AND 2007 F-150'S THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON. ALL OF THESE TRUCK PERFORM DIFFERENT DUTIES, SO THE TYPE OF USE IS NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM. FORTUNATELY THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES FROM THIS PROBLEM, BUT CERTAINLY THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR INJURIES IF THE WHEELS WERE TO COME COMPLETELY APART AND THE TIRE LEAVE THE RIM. I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE GOING 65 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE OF A HIGHWAY. MY 2007 FORD 150- SUPERCREW DROPPED DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED RIGHT. I COULD NOT STEER AWAY FROM AN 18 WHEELER THAT WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE. I BOUNCED OFF THE 18 WHEELER AND IT KNOCKED MY WHEEL STRAIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF MY TRUCK. I HAD $5000 IN PROPERTY DAMAGE . THE 18 WHEELER DID GO OFF THE ROAD AND HAD $70000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. THESE 2 BLOWOUTS OCCURRED WITHIN 1. 5 HOURS OF DRIVING ALL IN THE FRONT. TIRES ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE EXCESS WEIGHT OF A F150 SUPERCREW. I HAD BF GOODRICH LONG TRAIL ON MY LAST SUPERCREW AND HAD EXCELLENT RESULTS. I SPENT $690 TO REPLACE ALL GENERAL AMERITRAC TIRES. *TR
BOUGHT NEW IN 2007 FORD F-150 PICKUP TRUCK ALL ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT AND OWNER ONLY 19,000 MILES ON ORIGINAL TIRES. BLEW OUT DURING NORMAL DRY DRIVING CONDITIONS PULLING A EMPTY 16 FT TRAILER. IF IT HADN'T BEEN THAT IT WAS THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE AND LATE AT NIGHT ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY WOULD HAVE HAD A WRECK. TRUCK WENT ALL OVER THE ROAD DUE TO THE BLOW OUT. VALVE STEM COMPLETELY GONE. THESE TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL HANKOOK 17 INCH TIRES THAT WERE SOLD WITH THIS TRUCK AND THE TRUCK ONLY HAD 19K MILES THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE TIRE BLEW THE TREAD IS STILL THERE SIDE OF TIRE IN SHREDS AND NO VALVE STEM AT ALL JUST AN EMPTY HOLE WHERE IT SHOULD BE. IF THIS HAD OF BEEN A STEERING TIRE COULD HAVE POSSIBLY LOST CONTROL. I STILL HAVE 3 MORE OF THESE TIRES ON THE TRUCK; IS THERE A RECALL ON THE STEMS OR TIRES FOR THESE TRUCKS WHAT SHOULD I DO? THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE VALVE STEM CAUSED THE TIRE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE VALVE STEM ON THE TIRE THAT FAILED AND CHECKED THE OTHER TIRES. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THEY WILL ONLY REPLACE DEFECTIVE PARTS BUT NOT PARTS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. FAILURE OF TIRE VALVE STEM RESULTING IN A RAPID FLAT TIRE. *TR
TUESDAY MORNING WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY TRUCK THE TIRE LOOKED TO ME TO BE LOW ON AIR AND LOW PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ON IN THE TRUCK. I DROVE TO MY SHOP (APPROX. 7.2 MI.), TOOK OFF THE WHEEL TO CHECK FOR LEAKS (FOUND NON), CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE AND IT WAS AT 28 LBS, I FILLED THE TIRE WITH AIR TO 36 LBS. THE LOW PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT DID NOT GO OUT. I CHECKED THE OTHER 3 TIRES AND FOUND THEM ALL TO BE LOW SO I FILLED THEM WITH AIR TO 36 LBS AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. AT THE END OF THE DAY I DROVE HOME, THEN TOOK MY WIFE TO DINNER (APPROX. 5 MI.). WHEN WE PULLED INTO THE RESTAURANT PARKING LOT AND TURNED RIGHT INTO A PARKING SPOT, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OFF THE RIM AS I CAME TO A STOP. I AM NOT AS CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING A 'FREE' TIRE AS I AM OF THE SAFETY FACTOR INVOLVED. I HAVE 4 HANKOOK TIRES ON THIS TRUCK AND IT CONCERNS ME THAT ANOTHER ONE MAY BLOW APART (POSSIBLY AT FREEWAY SPEED). I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE TIRE. I AM 65 YEARS OLD AND I'VE WORKED ON CARS ALL MY LIFE AND I'VE NEVER SEEN A TIRE BEAD SPLIT THE WAY THIS ONE DID. I ALSO HAVE ASSOCIATES IN THE AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS WHO AFTER SEEING THE DAMAGED TIRE COMPLETELY AGREE WITH ME. I WOULD HATE TO SEE A REPEAT OF THE FORD EXPLORER TIRE PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED WITH FIRESTONE SEVERAL YEARS BACK; AND I HATE TO THINK THERE ARE MORE DEFECTIVE TIRES OUT THERE. I SPOKE WITH AND EMAILED THIS INFORMATION TO AL ABRADOR AT HANKOOK TIRE AND HE SAID 'IT WAS THE FAULT OF THE PERSON THAT MOUNTED THE TIRES', HE ALSO SAID THAT HANKOOK HAS HAD NO OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THESE TIRES. I WENT TO THE TIRE SHOP WHERE I'VE DONE BUSINESS FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN A BROKEN BEAD LIKE THIS ONE. AFTER LOOKING AT THE NHTSA SITE I SEE THERE ARE INDEED MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING HANKOOK TIRES. AGAIN, I AM CONCERNED WITH MY OWN AS WELL AS PUBLIC SAFETY IN THIS MATTER. *TR

2007 FORD F150 VALVE STEM BROKE AND CAUSED A BLOWOUT ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER RECOVERING FROM BEING DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD, I NOTICED THAT MY THREE OTHER TIRES HAD CRACKED VALVE STEMS AS WELL. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL AND DEAL WITH THIS HAZARD BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THREE TIRE VALVES ON MY 2007 FORD F-150. UPON INSPECTION OF THE THIRD, THE NUMBER IS T 414. LOOKING IT UP, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WERE PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS VALVE STEM. OF COURSE, I ELECTED TO REPLACE THE FOURTH AS WELL. MY DEALER SAID THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF A RECALL. GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THEIR FAILURE, I'M NOT HAPPY.
