I WAS TAKING THE GRANDKIDS HOME,5MILES WEST OF HWY 24 ON 1025 BADGER TRL.DR.FLORISSANT,CO.80816,TO MY SON AN HIS WIFE AND GOING A LITTLE FAST ON THE DIRT ROAD AN SWERVED TO KEEP FROM HITTING DEER THAT JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME,WELL I OVERSTEERED,DONE A 360 AND ENDED UP ON MY SONS LAND WITH THE TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A BIG TREE,CRAMMED THE FRONT END TO ENGINE BLOCK,BUT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED,ALL THAT WERE IN TRUCK WERE HURT,I GOT WHIPLASH,MY GREAT NIECE GOT HER ARM HURT,MY GRANDSON GOT A HURT LEG,AND MY GRANDAUGHTER HURT HER HEAD,I HAD FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE,BUT GEICO SAID THEY WERE NOT PAYING THE X-RAYS AN HAVE BEEN STRANDED ALL SUMMER LONG,NEVER HAD A MORE MISERABLE SUMMER OVER AN ACCIDENT,MISSED A FEW DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS DUE TO NO TRANSPORTATION,NO ATTOURNEYS WOULD TAKE MY CASE,SO I GIVE UP KNOWING THE DEVIL IS RESPONSIBLE GRANDKIDS HOME,LIKE ALWAY`S
I,(MR.[XXX])WAS DRIVING MY GRANDCHILDREN HOME AND THEY LIVE @1025 [XXX] DR.,AND WAS DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD AND SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING A DEER,AND OVERSTEERED AND HIT A LARGE TREE HEAD ON AND THE AIR-BAGS DID NOT EMPLOY,LEAVING US WITH ALL KINDS OF MEDICAL COST,THANKS TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY(GEICO) [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).' *PM
MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 11 YEARS OLD. I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE FRAME. THE FRAME ON MY VEHICLE HAS RUST HOLES ON THE LEFT HAND INNER SIDE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE IN THE METALWORK FOR THE FRAMES ON 2004-2008 F150 TRUCKS. I WORK AS A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AND MULTIPLE VEHICLES HAVE THIS ISSUE. WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO COVER THE COSTS OF REPAIRING THESE UNSAFE FRAMES DUE TO FORDS NEGLIGENCE TO BUILD THE FRAMES PROPERLY. DUE TO THIS, ANY VEHICLE WITH FRAME ISSUES SUCH AS MINE, IF INVOLVED IN A WRECK, COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS F150'S OF THOSE YEAR RANGES COME IN WITH FRAMES ROTTED ALL IN THE SAME PLACE AT THE REAR OF THE MAIN FRAME RAIL, NEAR THE GAS TANK. 2009 AND FORWARD DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AS THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE FRAME. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THESE FRAME ISSUES.PICTURES ATTACHED ARE OF VARIOUS F150'S, NOT JUST MY OWN.
WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND IN A PARKING LOT, I NOTICED WHAT A APPEARED TO BE A HOLE RUSTED THROUGH THE DRIVERS SIDE FRAME. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL LARGE HOLES BEGINNING IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL AND EXTENDING TO ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE CAB. THESE HOLES ARE ALL THE WAY THROUGH, (BOTH SIDES OF THE RAIL), ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. I FEEL THIS SIGNIFICANTLY COMPROMISES THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRAME AND MAKES IT LESS SAFE TO OPERATE. I AM ALSO VERY SURPRISED TO SEE SO MUCH CORROSION ON AN 11 YEAR TRUCK. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE TRUCK 5 YEARS AGO, TO FORD MOTOR CO., AND TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. NONE OF THESE ATTEMPTS HAVE RESULTED IN ANY ACTION. I'M SURE MINE IS NOT THE ONLY F150 WITH THIS PROBLEM AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE WORD GETS OUT.
RECENTLY DRIVING ALONG A COUNTY ROAD; VEHICLE WARNING TONE SOUNDS AND I SEE THE FOLLOWING. BATTERY, CHECK ENGINE, BRAKES, ABS AND TPMS LIGHTS ON. SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER INOPERATIVE, ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INOPERATIVE. VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY SHOWED TITLES, I.E. TRIP A, MILEAGE ETC., BUT THERE WERE NO VALUES. OIL PRESSURE AND CHARGING SYSTEM AND FUEL GAUGES WORKING NORMALLY. ENGINE PERFORMANCE UNAFFECTED. DROVE 15+ MILES TO HOMETOWN AND MY MECHANIC. AFTER A DAY OF DIAGNOSIS, HE STATED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS THE PROBLEM, AND ALSO THAT IT WAS A KNOWN BUT NOT ACKNOWLEDGED ISSUE BY FORD. NEW CLUSTERS ARE $700 TO $900 WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS. AFTER A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE, THERE AND A LOT; AND I MEAN A LOT OF PEOPLE SELLING 2008 F-150 LARIAT INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS. SURE I COULD PICK ONE UP FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS, BUT AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM IS THE MILEAGE; WHICH IS STORED IN THE CLUSTER ROM. MY TRUCK ONLY HAD 86K MILES, WHEREAS IF I INSTALL A USED ONE I INHERIT WHATEVER MILEAGE IS ON THERE. CONSIDERING THE POPULARITY OF THE F-150, YOU WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT FORD WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING; BUT I SUPPOSE I'M BEING NAIVE WITH THAT WISH.
AIRBAG DID NOT FULLY DEPLOY IN FRONTAL COLLISION DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65MPH AND UPON STRIKING A TREE AFTER LOSING CONTROL OVER TIRE ISSUE. I REMEMBER AIRBAG OPENED LIKE A BALLOON AND THEN DEFLATING AS SOON AS IT OPENED UP AND IT SEEMED LIKE IT WAS ROLLED. I REMEMBER WAKING UP TO FIND MYSELF BEING LIFE FLIGHTED TO HOSPITAL. I SUSTAINED SEVERAL INJURIES WHICH I'M BLESSED TO BE ALIVE. I SUFFERED HEAD INJURY WHICH NEEDED STAPLES AND STITCHES, BROKEN RIBS AND STERNUM, HIP DISLOCATION AND SURGERY FOR ACETABULAR FRACTURES OR I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO WALK AGAIN, KNEE INJURY FROM DASHBOARD, BROKEN LEFT ULNA ON LEFT ARM AND ULNAR STYLOID ON RIGHT WRIST. ALL DUE TO AIRBAG NOT FULLY DEPLOYING LIKE ANY OWNER OF A VEHICLE EXPECTS IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

TAKARA RECALL, DROVE THE 2008 FORD F150 TO WORK. THE MORNING AFTER I WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO GET SOME TUMS APPROXIMATELY 3A.M. AFTER RUSTLING AROUND FOR WORK APPROXIMATELY 5A.M. I WENT TO LET MY DOGS OUT AS IT'S MY ROUTINE AND REALIZED MY TRUCK WAS IN FLAMES RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOUSE BURNING THE SIDES OF OUR HOME. FIRE DEPARTMENT COULD DETERMINE RIGHT THEN WHAT WHERE OR WHEN IT CAUGHT A BLAZE. THEY MADE A REPORT AND WERE TO SUBMIT IT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. INSURANCE IS COMING OUT TO ASSESS DAMAGES AND HOPEFULLY INVESTIGATE WHAT WHERE WHEN AND HOW A COLD TRUCK THAT SITS ALL NIGHT JUST GO UP IN FLAMES.
AIR BAG LIGHT ON RED BRAKE LIGHT ON
STEERING BECAME STIFF. VEHICLE WAS HARD TO MAINTAIN EVEN ON STRAIGHT ROAD. AFTER MY INSPECTION, I FOUND THAT THE STEERING SHAFT WAS HORRIBLY CORRODED AT THE UNIVERSAL JOINT. I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL I REPAIR IT. IT IS AT THE POINT WHERE IT COULD BREAK AND LOOSE ALL CONTROL OF STEERING. VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR OVER 30 YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS IN ANY VEHICLE, NO MATTER WHAT AGE.
MY TRUCK TIMING BELTS HAVE BIN REPLACED 4 TIMES IN THE LAS 3 YRS. IT STARTS BY MAKING THE ENGINE JUMP THE RPM GO BELOW 300 AND IT SHUTS OFF AS I APPROACH A STOP SIGN OR A LIGHT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON IT JUST SHUTS OFF AND IT WONT DRIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED A VEHICLE. IN TURN, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS ALSO REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER WERE INJURED, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER WHO REAR ENDED THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL IN AN AMBULANCE AS A PRECAUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT YET BEEN TOWED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR AN APPRAISAL. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
TOOK TRUCK IN FOR MAINTENANCE. WAS CALLED OVER BY MECHANIC. HE SHOWED ME THE WHOLE FRAME OF THE TRUCK IS RUSTED OUT. THE TRUCK HAS 100,000 MILES AND BODY IS CLEAN FOR ITS AGE. LOCAL DEALERSHIP QUOTED $6,000.00 TO REPAIR. A SMALL AUTO COLLISION SHOP QUOTED +$3,000.00. BOTH AGREED THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK THAT COULD RESULT IN BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD. SEVERAL OTHER MANUFACTURES HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE TAKEN CORRECTIVE ACTION TO REPAIR OR REIMBURSE FOR THE EXPENSE. IT IS DOCUMENTED OUT ON THE INTERNET THAT IT IS AN ISSUE. THERE ARE 16 OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS CAR COMPLAINT SITE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED/SUGGESTED REPORTING THE ISSUE TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA).

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CONTACT'S HOME TO RIVERSIDE AUTO SALES, INC. (2511 LUDINGTON ST, ESCANABA, MI 49829, (906) 786-6834) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,419.
2008 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ENGINE FAILURE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD MISFIRE AND LACKED POWER. THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED.*JS
GAS GUAGE IS NOT WORKING. READS EMPTY AT ALL TIMES. TRUCK HAS STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. FOESNT START EASILY AND CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING.
STEERING JUST BEGAN FREEZING WHEN TURNING. ALL OF THE JOINT HAVE CHECKED OUT APPEAR TO BE ISSUE WITH STEERING COLUMN.
MY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING ON AND OFF, AND THEN TURNED ON CONSTANTLY. I'VE CHECKED THE BRAKE COMPONENTS, AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS THERE. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS SHOWED THAT IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, AND HAS OCCURRED IN SEVERAL MODEL YEARS. BESIDES THE IRRITATION OF HAVING THE LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME, I NOW HAVE NO RELIABLE WAY TO KNOW IF THERE REALLY IS A BRAKE ISSUE.
WHEN I BRAKE THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE ITS RACING LOUDER AND LOUDER AND SEEMS LIKE I'M EXCELLERATING INSTEAD OF STOPPING. ITS VERY HARD TO STOP IN TIME AT A STOP SIGN AND I CAN'T. I ALMOST IT A CROSSING CAR.THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH MYSELF AND ALSO WHEN MY HUSBAND DROVE THE TRUCK.WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. THE SAME HAPPENED TO 2 MECHANICS AT THE SHOP ON TEST DRIVES. THEY HAVE A THEORY IT IS HAPPENING BECAUSE WHEN WE TAKE OUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND PUT IT ON THE BRAKE TO BRAKE WE ARE TOO CLOSE TO THE GAS PEDAL AND ARE UNKNOWINGLY PRESSING BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE THAT WAS HAPPENING, BUT MAYBE IT WAS BEC NOW WHEN I BRAKE , I PLACE MY FOOT MUCH FURTHER FROM THE GAS PEDAL. I'VE HEARD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN TRUCKS, BUT I WASN'T WARNED AND I DON'T THINK THIS IS SAFE.
STEERING BINDS IN THE UPPER U-JOINT ON STEERING ROD. IT STARTED ON THE HIGHWAY. I DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE THAN I HAVE TO IN FEAR OF DOING MORE DAMGGE TO IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
CONTROL SWITCH HAS A SHORTED IN IT BATTER LIGHT COME ON WHILE DRIVER LONG

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, BUT IT FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY HOUSING AND COVER RUSTED THROUGH, WHICH CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT THAT MADE THE FUEL PUMP BECOME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED TAKING LONGER TO STOP SO I REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ALL AROUND, THIS DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IT FEELS LIKE THE SYSTEM IS TELLING ITSELF TO NOT BRAKE USING THE ABS EVEN ON DRY ROADS OR JUST NOT APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES.

FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILURE
OK WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL TO TURN IT STICKS AND HAVE ALMOST HIT OTHER CARS HAVE TO TURN WHEEL BACK LIKE THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT BUT MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS.. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS .. I HAVE DONE SOME CHECKING AT IT APPEARS TO BE THE STEERING SHAFT U JOINTS FREEZE UP DUE TO LACK OF ABLE TO GREASE THEM AND BAD DESIGN MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 49,000 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM I SEE MANY HAVE HAD SAME ISSUE I THINK IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY FORD FOR SAFETY BECAUSE STEERING STICKS WHEN TURNING .
MY ABS/BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. A COUPLE OF WEEKS PRIOR TO THE LIGHTS APPEARED I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE. MY COMPLAINT THE BRAKES FELT SPONGY WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKES. I WAS INFORMED NO PROBLEM FOUND.
CAM PHASERS WENT OUT TWICE BEFORE 150K. STEERING SHAFT AND STEERING FLUID LINES RUST OUT AROUND 150K.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ENGINE FAILED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (AUTO NATION OF PANAMA CITY, 1730 W 15TH ST, PANAMA CITY, FL 32401) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
2008 FORD F 150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NON OPERATIONAL MIDDLE PASSENGER SEATBELT. CONSUMER IS ALSO SEEKING A REFUND FOR VEHICLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER KNOWINGLY SOLD THE VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE SEAT BELTS. *JS
ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN I EXITED, THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER CONTROL UNIT. HE SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F150 TRUCKS. MY OPINION IS THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND THE DRIVER MODULE WAS DAMAGED DUE TO CORROSION.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, BACK, AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.

SO FAR NO INJURIES OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY HAS OCCURRED WITH ME BUT SOME OF THE NINE OTHER CASES HAS OCCURRED. WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP SO THERE ARE NO FATALITIES REGARDING THIS ISSUE.

ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD ALSO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, THE DOOR LOCK MECHANISM ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
