TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THE PASSENGER SIDE FIXED SECTION SHATTERED BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE DEFROSTER. THE CONTACT HAD ALSO NOTICED THAT THE DEFROSTER WIRES WERE BURNED AND WERE HEATED, WHICH CAUSED THE GLASS TO SHATTER. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC; HOWEVER, THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
IT WAS COOL OUTSIDE SO THERE WAS FROST ON THE REAR WINDOW WE TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST. AFTER ONLY A FEW MINUTES WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AS IF SOMETHING HIT THE TRUCK, MY HUSBAND AND I GOT OUT LOOKED ALL AROUND THE TRUCK WHEN WE NOTICED THE WINDOW WAS SHATTER. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO RECALL SAVE MY RECEIPT IF EVER GOES ON RECALL I MAY GET MY MONEY BACK. IN THE MEAN I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT I THINK THIS WINDOW PROBLEM NEED TO BE LOOKED BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF FORD OWNERS SAYING THE SOMETHING! *TR
DRIVING MY SON TO SCHOOL ON A COLD MORNING WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ON. ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO OUR DRIVE WE HEARD A VERY LOUD POP AND MY SON NOTICED THAT THE WINDOW BEHIND HIS HEAD HAD SHATTERED. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE IT SEEMS TO BE FAIRLY COMMON AMONG THIS YEAR MODEL WITH PEOPLE DESCRIBING THE EXACT SITUATIONS. CALLED FORD AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. ABSURD THAT THIS DEFECT AND THE RELATED COSTS SHOULD BE PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER WHEN IT IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK.
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS ENTERING THE CABIN THROUGH ON OF THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THIRD REAR TAIL LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,974. DJR
HAVE A 2010 FORD 150 AFTER 5 YEARS AND NO WINTER USE I GOT BODY ROT ON THE RIGHT SIDE ,I PAID TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. NOW THE BED IS JUST ROTTING AWAY THE IS MY FIRST FORD AND LAST FOR THE MONIES PAID IT SHOULD LAST LONGER THEN THIS. THIS DOESN'T COUNT ALL THE OTHER MONEY I PUT INTO THE TRUCK. IT ONLY HAS 86,000 MILES DOSE FORD HAVE A RECALL ON SUCH A LOUSY BODY ON THERE TRUCKS. ON THE MORNING OF 12/29/14, HE HAD A HEAVY FROST SO I USED MY REAR WINDOW DEFROST ON MY DRIVE TO WORK. DRIVE WAS APPROX. 10 MINUTES. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AT WORK, ALL GLASS WAS OK. WHEN I GOT BACK IN TRUCK TO LEAVE WORK, I LOOKED IN REAR VIEW MIRROR, I SAW THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THREE PIECE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. THE GLASS STAYED IN THE FRAME AND DID NOT FALL OUT. I HAD TO SPEND OVER AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY JUST TO FILE A CLAIM, AND IT TOOK THE GLASS COMPANY TWO TRIES TO INSTALL THE NEW REAR WINDOW AND REWIRE IT TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHANGED THE DESIGN ON THE WINDOW ALONG WITH THE WIRING TO THE WINDOW. WHY WILL FORD NOT STEP UP AND AT LEAST ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DEFROST AND OFFER TO FIX IT.
I LEFT FOR WORK IN THE MORNING AND I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST BECAUSE WE HAD A HEAVY FROST OVERNIGHT. WINDOW WAS FINE WHEN I GOT OUT OF TRUCK AT WORK. IT WAS A 10 MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK. WHEN I GOT BACK INTO TRUCK 10 HOURS LATER TO LEAVE WORK, I SAW THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THREE PIECE REAR WINDOW WAS BROKEN. THE GLASS DID NOT FALL OUT OF THE FRAME SO IT WAS NOT FROM AN IMPACT. AIR TEMP STAYED JUST BELOW FREEZING ALL DAY. HAD TO SPEND ROUGHLY AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND MY FORD DEALER TO GET THE PART ORDERED. IT WILL BE FOUR DAYS TILL IT WILL BE FIXED. I JUST HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS THAT WILL CAUSE THE GLASS TO FALL OUT OF THE FRAME. I DRIVE MY TRUCK AT LEAST 6 DAYS A WEEK SO I CANNOT BE WITHOUT IT. REAR DEFROSTER WAS ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. AFTER PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY AND STOPPING REAR PASSENGER REPORTED A FUNNY SMELL. AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE AND WHILE STEPPING OUT THE REAR LIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE(WHICH HAS DEFROST WIRES RUNNING THROUGH IT) SHATTERED WITH A LOUD POP. THE GLASS REMAINED IN PLACE BUT HAS SPIDERWEBS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE LIGHT. *TR
RIGHT BACK PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE SPRING BROKE. HANDLE WILL NOT RETRACT TO NORMAL POSITION CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE AS HANDLE DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY DUE TO THE BROKEN SPRING. BACK DOOR HANDLE HAS ONLY BEEN USED ABOUT 5 TIMES. *JS
I REMOTELY STARTED MY F150 TO WARM UP THE VEHICLE ON A MORNING THAT THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 37F. WHILE INSIDE THE VEHICLE I HEARD A LOAD BANG THAT SOUNDED LIKE GLASS BREAKING. OBSERVED THAT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED APPROX. THREE MINUTES AFTER REAR DEFROSTER SWITCH WAS TURNED ON . INSPECTED GLASS BOTH INSIDE AND OUT AND OBSERVED THAT THE GLASS WAS INTACT BUT THE WHOLE PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS WHAT SHATTERED AS WITH SAFETY GLASS WOULD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALER AND THEY HAD SEEN THE PROBLEM BEFORE BUT THERE ADVISED IT WOULD NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY OR POLICY. DEALER GAVE ME LOCAL CSR TO CONTACT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE AND ASK FOR POLICY. GLASS ESTIMATE WAS AROUND $621 FOR PARTS AND 3 HRS OF LABOR. DECLINED REPAIR UNTIL SPEAKING WITH CSR TO ASK FOR CONSIDERATION UNDER POLICY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE IF THE GLASS WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT DURING DRIVER. NUMEROUS INCIDENCES REPORT OF THIS EXACT MODE OF FAILURE. SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH FORD BY NHTSA. *TR
ACCELERATOR STUCK TO FLOORBOARD. APPLIED MAXIMUM BRAKING UNTIL BRAKES FADED AND WERE NO LONGER EFFECTIVE IN DECELERATION. TURNED OFF IGNITION AND COASTED TO THE CURB. AFTER 3-5 MINUTES, RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. PURCHASED THIS TRUCK USED AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THE ACCELERATOR WAS APPLIED FULLY. IT WILL BE THE LAST. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER COMPLETELY SO POWER STEERING WAS NON-FUNCTIONAL. WAS ABLE, WITH MUCH DIFFICULTY, TO GUIDE THE VEHICLE OFF OF BUSY ROAD AND ON TO SIDE STREET. DARN LUCKY I WASN'T INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO CROSSROADS FORD IN CARY, N.C. HERE IS WORD FOR WORD WHAT THE MECHANIC WROTE. "VEHICLE TOWED IN. CUSTOMER STATES VEHICLE TURNS OVER BUT WON'T START. CHECK AND ADVISE. "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN. RAN OASIS. NO CODES. READ PAST HOTLINE REPORTS FOR BAD PIN FIT FOR FUSE 27 IN UNDER HOOD FUSE PANEL. TRIED TO RELOCATE TO DIFFERENT LOCATION. WIRE TERMINAL DAMAGED DURING REMOVAL. INSTALLED INLINE FUSE HOLDER TO FUEL PUMP WIRE. INSTALLED 20 AMP FUSE. TEST DROVE AND NO PROBLEMS AT THIS TIME." SO BASICALLY, THIS WAS A FLAW IN MANUFACTURE REGARDING PIN FIT FOR FUSE 27 THAT CAUSED VEHICLE TO CEASE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND ENDANGERED PASSENGERS. I CALLED FORD SERVICE AT 800-392-3673 AND CASE WAS OPENED. CASE # [XXX]. CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AT CROSSROADS FORD WAS [XXX] AND MECHANIC WAS [XXX] . I SPOKE WITH SERVICE MANAGER [XXX] AND HE WAS MADE AWARE OF SITUATION AND I'M WAITING FOR HIS REPLY AS TO IF THERE WILL BE COMPENSATION. REAR PASSENGER WINDOW (LITE) SHATTERED APPROX. THREE MINUTES AFTER REAR DEFROSTER SWITCHED ON. VEHICLE HAS POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW. OUTSIDE TEMP. AROUND 20F. STARTED TRUCK COLD (AMBIENT TEMP). GLASS REMAINS INTACT AS OF THIS WRITING. *TR
LEAVING RED LIGHT, TRUCK STALLED. OIL LIGHT CAME ON, LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKE. WAS ABLE TO COAST AT AN ANGLE TO THE SIDE. COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR TRAFFIC JAM. PUT TRUCK IN PARK, WAITED A MINUTE, TURNED BACK ON AND GAVE IT GAS. RAN FINE AFTER THAT. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY. THEY SAID WOULD NOT BE ANY WAY TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WITHOUT PULLING ENGINE APART. SUGGESTED MULTI POINT INSPECTION AND TUNE UP. DID NOT MENTION THIS ISSUE OCCURRING PREVIOUSLY OR THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE ONLINE. THEY FOUND A DUSTY AIR INTAKE SENSOR THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND PERFORMED TUNE UP & OIL CHANGE. INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN LEAVING GAS STATION PUMP ON DEC 29, 2014. WHEN RESTARTED, IT CRANKED SEVERAL TIMES BUT WOULDN'T FIRE UP. TRIED 3 TIMES BEFORE SUCCESSFUL START. RAN FINE AFTER THAT. AFRAID A STALL AT HIGH SPEED OR WHEN PULLING MY HORSE AND TRAILER WILL CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENT. HAVE SEEN COMPLAINTS OF FUEL PURGE VALVE OR THROTTLE BODY BUTTERFLY VALVE CAUSING THIS. NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD. *JS
THE REAR DEFROST HAS BEEN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. LAST WEEK I WAS DRIVING HOME AND HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION WHICH SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT. I WAS SO STARTLED THAT I SWERVED INTO ANOTHER LANE (LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC). I PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE 3 PANEL REAR WINDOW WAS SPIDERED. WE HAVE A 2010 FX4 SUPERCREW. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,300. STARTED CREW CAB F150 FX4 AND TURNED ON INTERIOR DEFROSTER. APPROX. 5 MINS LATER, WHILE STILL IN PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY, TURNED ON REAR DEFROSTER. 3-4 MINUTES LATER, WHILE BACKING OUT THE DRIVEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD BANG! I STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND EXITED THE TRUCK TO SEE IF I HAD HIT ANYTHING. BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT NEAR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE DRIVEWAY, I PROCEEDED OUT THE DRIVEWAY ONLY TO NOTICE THE REAR, PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW (OF THREE) HAD SHATTERED. WINDOW WAS STILL IN PLACE BUT COMPLETELY SHATTERED. WILL BE CONTACTING FORD TO FIND A REMEDY FOR THIS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AND THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 31 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT AND THERE WAS ICE ON THE WINDOW. APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES LATER, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD ABNORMAL POP SOUND NEAR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THE SHATTERED WINDOW ALONG WITH A SUBSTANCE THAT MELTED FROM THE EXPLOSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
STARTED VEHICLE AND ACTIVATED REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER-OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE 31 DEGREES F. APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES LATER WHILE STOPPED AT IDLE, HEARD A LOUD POP AND DISCOVERED PASSENGER SIDE OF THREE PART REAR BACK WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED CASES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ESPECIALLY WITH 2010 MODELS. POSES A SAFETY HAZARD TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. SOME CONTACTS HAVE REPORTED SMOKE\OVER HEATING. *TR
STARTED THE TRUCK WITH AUTO START TO LET IT WARM UP (OUT TEMP APPROX. 38* PLUS WIND CHILL), TURNED ON DEFROSTER IN BOTH FRONT AND REAR. WITH IN 60 SECONDS THERE WAS A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUN SHOT AND SMOKE COMING FROM REAR RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE BACK WINDOW. WHEN I GOT OUT OF TRUCK TO CHECK IT OUT THERE WAS A SMALL FLAME AT BASE OF PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS AND PLASTIC WAS MELTING. THE INSIDE BACK SEAT WAS WARM TO TOUCH, I WAS UNABLE TO GET SEAT FORWARD TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY INSIDE DAMAGE. THERE IS MELTED PLASTIC DOWN OUTSIDE CAB OF TRUCK. I WENT ON LINE TO (HTTP://WWW.CARPROBLEMZOO.COM/FORD/F-150/REAR-WINDOW-DEFOGGER-PROBLEMS.PHP) AND FOUND THAT THIS SITE HAD OTHERS THAT EXPERIENCED THIS SAME THING. EVEN AFTER THE TRUCK WAS OFF, THE BACK GLASS REMAINED HOT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. THE GLASS IS SHATTERED AND IS HELD IN PLACE BY THE AFTER MARKET WINDOW TINTING. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES AFTER TURNING ON MY REAR DEFROSTER, THE PASSENGER SIDE PANEL OF THE THREE PANEL REAR GLASS SHATTERED. NOTHING STRUCK THE GLASS TO CAUSE THIS. TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS AROUND 36* F, WINDOWS WERE SLIGHTLY FOGGY, NOT COVERED IN FROST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL CRASHING AGAINST A GUARD RAIL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,902.
WHILE DRIVING INTO WORK, HAD THE REAR DEFROST ACTIVE FOR ROUGHLY 10 MINUTES. AT A STOPLIGHT, NOTICED SMOKE RISING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE REAR WINDOW. AS I PROCEEDED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW PROCEEDED TO SPIDERWEB. THE GASKET FOR THE REAR WINDOW HAS BEEN BURNED ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER (WHEN OBSERVED FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE). IT IS APPARENT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR HEATING ELEMENT, AS OBSERVED BY THE NUMBER OF IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE. I HOPE THAT FORD STEPS UP AND DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE ACTUALLY GETS HURT. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW PANEL SHATTERED WITH A LOUD BANG WHEN THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS TURNED ON. THERE WAS A LARGE 6 X 4" HOLE IN THE WINDOW AND THE BALANCE WAS SPIDER WEBBED. THERE WAS GLASS IN THE BACK SEAT AND ON THE TONNEAU COVER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE STALLED AND RESTARTED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FUEL DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON A DAILY BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.

REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER CAUGHT ON FIRE AND SHATTERED REAR WINDOW GLASS. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.
CONTACTED FORD FIRST ABOUT RH REAR DEFROSTER NOT WORKING. LUCKILY ONLY HAD THE BURNT SMELL AND NOT THE EXPLOSION OF GLASS. I WAS TRAVELING WEST ON I10 IN ARIZONA WHEN MY TRUCK DECIDED TO DOWN SHIFT/LIMP MODE AT 75 MPH. THE RESULT WAS A NICE LONG SLIDE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL. OF COURSE THE CRUISE CONTROL STILL THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO SPEED THE TRUCK UP AND CONTINUED ACCELERATING UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPORT IT AND THEY ASKED ME TO START IT AGAIN. IT STARTED FINE AND DID NOT SHOW ANY ERRORS ON THE DISPLAY. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME THOUGH AT A REDUCED SPEED AND NOT USING THE CRUISE CONTROL. I FIND THAT FORD WOULD SUPPLY A VEHICLE WITH A LIMP MODE THAT WOULD SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO 2ND GEAR LIMP MODE AT ANY SPEED AND NOT SHUT OFF THE CRUISE AT THE SAME TIME. SEEMS TO ME THE VEHICLE SHOULD DISENGAGE THE CRUISE AND SLOW THE VEHICLE WHEN AT SPEED AND NOT THE UNEXPECTED DOWN SHIFT THAT SEEMS TO RESULT FROM ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BODY SHOP AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT SINCE THERE WAS NO PERFORATION IN THE SHEET METAL, IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I POINTED TO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT IF IT WERE ONE SPOT I COULD SEE THAT AS POSSIBLY SOMETHING MAY HAVE CHIPPED THE PAINT AND CAUSED THE PROBLEM BUT FOR IT TO HAPPEN IN AT LEAST 6 AREAS SPREAD OUT AROUND THE ROOF THAT IT WAS A DEFECT IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE TECHNICIAN SAID I SHOULD CONTACT FORD DIRECTLY BUT THEY WOULD PROBABLY DENY THE CLAIM. BASED ON WHAT I FOUND ONLINE WHICH INCLUDES AT LEAST 7 NHTSA DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS AS WELL AS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT PAINT PROBLEMS WITH FORD VEHICLES IT WOULD APPEAR THAT FORD HAS A PROBLEM AT THEIR FACTORIES THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. WASN'T ABLE TO FIND LEAK OR CUT OR BROKEN HOSE, MAYBE A LINK BETWEEN HOSE AND CONNECTOR IS BAD OR SOMETHING ELSE. WILL HAVE TO CHECK WITH FORD FURTHER. FOR NOW - SEEMS LIKE A DEFECT HAVING A BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T DETECT PRESSURE OR BRAKE FLUID LEVELS. JUST AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE THE TRUCK WAS DRIVEN OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND AT THE FIRST PRESS OF THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STOPPING. AFTER BEARING DOWN ON THE PEDAL WITH FULL FORCE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. BRAKE WARNING APPEARED IN THE DIGITAL MESSAGE CENTER AND THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND A VERY TIGHT PEDAL INDICATED THE VACUUM ASSIST HAD FAILED. I ALSO COULD HEAR A HISSING SOUND AT THE PRESS OF THE PEDAL. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND PULLED THE VACUUM LINE OFF THE BOOSTER AND THE DISTINCT VACUUM POP WAS PRESENT. I BEGAN REMOVING THE BOOSTER, I THEN REALIZED BRAKE FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT OF THE REAR OF THE MASTER CYLINDER AND INTO THE BOOSTER. I BELIEVE THE CORROSIVE PROPERTIES OF THE BRAKE FLUID RUPTURED THE DIAPHRAGM INSIDE THE BOOSTER. THERE WAS ABOUT 5 OZ. OF FLUID INSIDE THE BOOSTER. I ORDERED AND REPLACED THE BOOSTER AND THE MASTER CYLINDER. THIS IS TOO NEW OF A VEHICLE FOR A BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE KILLED IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT CORRECTED. *TR
