WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 395 NEAR SUSANVILLE CA, ELECTRONIC STEERING CAUSED TRUCK STEERING TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING. ALMOST CAUSED HEAD ON COLLISION. *TR
BACK IN FEBRUARY OR MARCH OF THIS YEAR (2020), I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR AN ESTIMATE ON A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT REPAIRS AND ALSO FOR THEM TO PERFORM RECALL #19V075. AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS THEY DID NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS. AND UNTIL TODAY WHEN I LOOKED UP MY VIN, I HAD ASSUMED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE AT LEAST DONE THE SAFETY RECALL. BUT THEY APPARENTLY NEGLECTED TO DO THAT TOO. WELL, LAST NIGHT WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY, MY TRUCK SEEMED TO DOWNSHIFT ABRUPTLY AND HAVE MINIMAL POWER AND VARIOUS LIGHTS TURNED ON AND OFF ON THE DASH. THEN THIS MORNING, MY TRUCK WOULD NOT START. IT WOULD ONLY START IN NEUTRAL, FOLLOWED BY EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE SHIFTING INTO DRIVE AND REVERSE. AGGRESSIVE ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE TRUCK TO MOVE A COUPLE OF FEET EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THIS SUBSEQUENT PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH FSA 19N01 THAT FORD HAS ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN. I SUPPOSE THAT IT IS UNKNOWN RIGHT NOW IF THE TWO PROBLEMS ARE RELATED. I WILL FIND OUT WEDNESDAY, AS I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE MY TRUCK BACK IN. I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THAT AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR MULTIPLE DAYS, THEY FAILED TO PERFORM THE SAFETY RECALL UPDATE AS I REQUESTED. I AM LUCKY THAT I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE DOWNSHIFTING PROBLEM WHILE AT HIGHER SPEEDS! I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS EVEN WORTHY OF A COMPLAINT, BUT I FIGURED THAT I SHOULD PASS THIS ALONG. THE STEERING IS ACTING STIFF WHILE DRIVING
I PURCHASED MY 2011 F150 ECOBOOST IN USED CONDITION IN 2014. THE PRIMARY USE FOR MY TRUCK IS AROUND TOWN ERRANDS AND HAULING LIGHT LOADS. FOR SOMETIME NOW I HAVE HAD ISSUES, LIKE MANY OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED AS WELL, DURING ACCELERATION AT 45+MPH THE ENGINE LOSES IT'S POWER, SHUDDERS AND STALLS. ONCE THERE IS A REDUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF THROTTLE, IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO REGAIN "NORMAL" DRIVING CONDITIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, MY FAMILY AND I WERE COMING HOME FROM FLORIDA ON THE PARKWAY, IN JULY AND WITH NO ABNORMAL WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND AS I WAS ASCENDING A GRADE ABOUT 75 MILES PER HOUR AND A SEMI TRUCK BEHIND ME, I GAVE THE TRUCK MORE THROTTLE AND IT BEGAN TO SHUDDER VIOLENTLY, A SUBTLE BACKFIRE, AND LOST POWER AND COULD NOT REGAIN THROTTLE RESPONSE. I QUICKLY MOVED THE TRUCK INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND HAD LET THE TRUCK RETURN TO A NORMAL IDLE, TOOK A FEW MINUTES, BEFORE ALMOST GETTING INTO A SERIOUS COLLISION WITH THE SEMI-TRUCK. OVER THE PAST YEARS I HAVE JUST DEALT WITH THE ISSUE AND HAVE TAKEN IT TO MECHANICS AND SCANNED THE TRUCK WITH NO ERROR CODES OR ISSUES, UNTIL JUST RECENTLY. THE MECHANIC SCANNED IT AND IT SHOWED MISFIRES ON #4 AND #6. HE REPLACED THE COIL AND PLUG HOPING THAT WOULD BE THE CURE, BUT WITH NO LUCK IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. I'M RELUCTANT TO DROP ANOTHER $250.00 TO REPLACE THE REST OF THE COILS, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I DO NOT HAVE DISPOSABLE INCOME AND THE TRUCK IS PAID FOR, I AND CAN'T AFFORD TO GET ANOTHER VEHICLE. I ENJOY MY F150 AND PLAN ON KEEPING IT UNTIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF. I HAVE READ POST AFTER POST AND VIDEO'S THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES, BUT IT SEEMS NO ONE IS WILLING TO STEP FORWARD AND MAKE THE COMPLAINT. I WANT THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED AND I HOPE FORD WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR A LIFE IS TAKEN OVER THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM POPS UP AND WILL EITHER SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN OR SHUT IT RIGHT OFF.. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND IT STILL CONTINUED TO DO IT...I HAVE TO SHUT IT ALL DOWN AND TRY TO RESTART IT WILL SOMETIMES DRIVE FOR A SHORT TIME OR GO FOR DAYS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR WHERE IT WILL ALSO GO MONTHS WITHOUT HAPPENING. *TR

THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE OF A CENSOR EITHER UP BY THE STEERING COLUMN OR THE SENSOR BY THE MASTER CYLINDER UNDER THE HOOD ! IT'S ABOUT A $150.00 FIX BUT I JUST GOT THIS TRUCK AND STARTED DRIVING IT SO I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS SO EARLY!! FOR A AVERAGE PERSON THAT IS NOT MUCH BUT FOR ME I LIVE IN DISABILITY IT SURE TAKES THE MONEY AWAY FROM FOOD I WAS GOING TO BUY SO IT'S A HARDSHIP. I LOVE THE TRUCK AND IT'S GREAT BUT IT'S HARD FOR ME TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE I RELY ON THE CRUISE CONTROL TO KEEP THE SAME SPEED WHEN GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY . I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE BUT THE SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK AND WON'T COME OUT OF 1ST OR SECOND GEAR. LUCKILY BOTH TIMES IT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AFTER I STARTED IT. CODES P0720 AND P0722 CAME UP BOTH TIMES WHICH IS THE SPEED SENSOR PROBLEM. THERE IS OR WAS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR AND MAKE, MODEL AND I NEED IT FIXED PLEASE. THANK YOU.

I HAVE A 2011 FORD F-150. THE TIMING CHAIN HAS STRETCHED ABNORMALLY, CAUSING THE MILEAGE AND POWER TO BE REDUCED, AND CAUSING THE ENGINE TO MAKE A TERRIBLE NOISE (AKIN TO A DIESEL STARTING ON A COLD DAY) WHEN IT IS STARTED, LASTING FOR 5-10 SECONDS. THE 2011 F-150 3.5L ECOBOOST TIMING CHAIN STRETCHING PROBLEM IS WELL-KNOWN ACROSS FORD USER FORUMS. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY FORUM POSTS AND COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE, YET FORD HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS A SYSTEMIC DESIGN ISSUE AND FORD NEEDS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP AND PROVIDE A FIX FOR OWNERS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY IT.

I WILL BE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP POSITION OR CRUISING IN TOWN AT 40 MPH OR ON THE INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH AND MY TRANSMISSION WILL RANDOMLY SLAM INTO A LOWER GEAR CAUSING MY TIRES TO OCCASIONALLY LOCK UP. MY SPEEDOMETER WILL SIMPLY STOP WORKING, MY DIGITAL DASH DISPLAY WILL DISPLAY DASH MARKS INSTEAD OF NUMBERS AND ALSO DISPLAY A WRENCH ICON. THEN ONCE I PULL THE VEHICLE OVER AND TURN IT OFF FOR A MINUTE, EVERYTHING WILL RETURN TO NORMAL.
WHILE DRIVING IT DOWN SHIFTS FROM 3 TO 1, CODES ARE P0705 AND P0016. THESE SHOULD FALL UNDER THE FACTORY RECALL FOR 15N05 AND 19N01 BUT FORD REFUSES TO COVER IT. TRUCK NOT ONLY DOWNSHIFTS BUT ALSO CLINICS INTO GEAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE.
2011 F150 XLT 4X4 REAR SLIP YOKE CLUNK. MY YOKE CLUNKS ON ACCELERATION EITHER FAST OR SLOW.
I HAD FORD DEALER PREFORM SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE LAST RECALL. THIS HAD MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE. I HAVE ASK THE DEALER AND THE TOLD ME IT WAS MAY ISSUE. I KEEP GETTING ERROR CODE P0270 WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
MY FORD F150 IS SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTING TO A LOWER GEAR WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN ROSEVILLE CA AND THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT FIX THIS ISSUE ON THE WEEKENDS AT ALL. THIS IS TRULY INCONVENIENT TO THE CUSTOMERS.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE TURN SIGNAL WAS FLASHING QUICKLY. THE CONTACT REPLACED BOTH BRAKE LIGHT BULBS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V128000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS SCHEDULED AT BRIGHTON FORD LOCATED AT (190 W BROMLEY LN, BRIGHTON, CO 80601) BUT WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,402.
I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 45-50 MPH AND TURNING LEFT ON A LARGE 90 DEGREE CURVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT RETURN TO CENTER WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT. THE TRUCK MADE A SUDDEN UNRESPONSIVE MOVE INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AS I WAS TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE VEHICLE. I GOT THE TRUCK TO RESPOND TO A SAFE AREA. VERY DANGEROUS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOON AFTER THE REPAIR, THE UNINTENDED VEHICLE DOWNSHIFT CONTINUED TO OCCUR WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON REACHING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD ABRUPTLY JERK BEFORE RESUMING NORMAL DRIVING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE HE WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED HIM BACK TO A DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. A CASE WAS ALSO FILED. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BREDEMANN FORD LOCATED AT 2038 WAUKEGAN RD, GLENVIEW, IL 60025, (847) 348-8097, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:16V248000 (POWER TRAIN) OR 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE STEERING STICKS IN SPOTS, VERY JERKING WHEN TRYING TO STEER. ONCE WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT, HAD WHEELS TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT AND STEERING LOCKED UP, FOR A MOMENT I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED. AGAIN CANNOT MAKE SMOOTH CORRECTIONS AND SLIGHT TURNS WITHOUT JERKING THE TRUCK DO TO STEERING MALFUNCTION. VERY DANGEROUS. AND OF COURSE THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION, ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAY, AND TURNING. BELOW YOU WANT A SPECIFIC DATE, IS DOES THIS CONSTANTLY WHENEVER I DRIVE IT.
GOOD MORNING,I HAVE A 2011 F150 THAT IS HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE RESOLVED WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT FROM 6TH TO 2ND AT 70 MILES PER HOUR. IT ALSO WILL LOSE POWER AND REAR WHEELS WILL LOCK UP.WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND START AGAIN THE TRUCK MAKES A LOUD BANG THAT FEELS LIKE THE DRIVE SHAFT AND TRANS. ARE SEPARATING.WHILE DRIVING MPH WILL GO TO 0 MILES PH. AND A TOOL WILL DISPLAY ON THE DASH.MY TRUCK HAS 187K ON IT AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT FORD WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE DUE TO MILEAGE I WOULD HOPE THAT FORD CARES MORE ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY THAN THE 37K MILES PAST THE WARRANTY.THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED, FORD I HOPE YOU WILL FIX MY TRUCK.IT HAS ALREADY HAD THE TPS DONE DIDNT HELP,I NEED MY TRUCK FOR WORK AND CANT AFFORD TO GET ANOTHER AT THIS TIME.HELP!!!!!

THE MESSAGE "TRACTION CONTROL" AND "POWER ASSIST FAILURE" HAD DISPLAYED DURING FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER (CAS-25454075) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NOT ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
IT IS KNOW THAT ON MOST FORD TRUCKS THAT NEUTRAL SAFETY MODULE SWITCH GOES OUT AND WILL NOT LET TRUCK START IN PARK OR NEUTRAL OR ANY GEAR SETTINGS. WITH OTHER POWER DRIVE PROBLEMS. *TR
WHEN IT GETS COLD THE TRUCK WILL GO INTO REVERSE AND NOT INTO DRIVE. WHEN TRYING TO GO TO PARK, ALL THE DASH INDICATORS DO NOT LIGHT UP AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE TRUCK AND RESTARTING IT A FEW TIMES, THE P0705 AND P1702 CODES ARE ON AND I DRIVE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY I TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER AND CODES ARE GONE AND NO HISTORY EITHER. NOTHING TO BE DONE AS THE CODES I GAVE THEM ARE NOT ON TRUCK ANYMORE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES ALREADY TO DATE WITHIN THE LAST MONTH.
THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR VEHICLE. I CANNOT SEE OUT OF IT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. WE DID NOT SEE ANYTHING HAPPEN TO IT (PERSON) VIA OUR SECURITY CAMERAS. I AM WORRIED IT WILL SHATTER. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS I HAVE CONDUCTED RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET.

In addition, the contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND THEY RESPONDED THEY DO NOT REPLACE REAR WINDSHIELDS SO IT WAS REPLACED BY LOCAL AUTO GLASS VENDOR.

I AM DRIVING AND THE TRUCK JUST STARTS SLOWING DOWN. I TRY TO ACCELERATE AND IT STRUGGLES TO KICK IN, THEN IT FINALLY DOES. I HAVE BEEN PUT IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHERE I'VE EXPECTED MY TRUCK TO WORK AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO AND IT DOESN'T. NOW, IT WONT START AT ALL.THE TRUCK ONLY HAS A OUT 132K MILES AND DEALER IS ASKING FOR $13K FOR NEW ENGINE.
WHEN VEHICLE PLACED IN REVERSE THERE IS A DELAY 5-8 SECONDS BEFORE JERKING HARD INTO GEAR SUDDENLY. ADDITIONALLY THE GEAR INDICATOR LAMP ON THE DASH DISAPPEARED. THEN A LARGE YELLOW WRENCH APPEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLE AT THE KANSAS FACILITY AND FORDS 12C23-S1. SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN FAILS TO COVER THIS, STATING THERE IS NO RECALL LISTED FOR THIS VEHICLE VIN. THIS VEHICLE NEARLY STRUCK A STUDENT WHEN MY WIFE (TEACHER) WAS ATTEMPTING TO PLACE VEHICLE IN REVERSE TO LEAVE HER PARKING PLACE, WHEN THERE WAS A DELAY TO GO INTO GEAR SHE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THINKING IT NEEDED FUEL. AS THE TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY JERKED INTO GEAR AT THE HIGH RPMS THE VEHICLE SHOT BACKWARDS OUT OF CONTROL. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE AND IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY FORD BECAUSE OF A NUMBER ON A PIECE OF PAPER. IT APPEARS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE AND ASK FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN HELPING PREVENT A TRAGEDY. YOUR ORGANIZATION HAS ADDRESSED THIS IN THE PAST AND IT APPEARS IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AGAIN.

I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 60 SECONDS AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP AGAIN AND IT WAS FINE. THE TRANNY ALSO SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING ON OCCASION

I GOT A RECALL LETTER. RECALL #19S07. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY REPROGRAMMED THE MODULE FOR THE POWERTRAIN ON 6/19. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY RAN OUT 11/30/19. ON 12/21/19 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I HAD MY CRUISE SET AT 67 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY GAUGES STOPPED WORKING AND HAD A TOOL SHOW UP ON DASH. THEN MY TIRES STARTED SLIDING AND IT DOWNSHIFTED. I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. I PULLED OVER AS SOON AS I COULD AND STOPPED MY TRUCK. I RESTARTED MY TRUCK AND ALL THE GAUGES WERE BACK TO NORMAL.I DROVE IT FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT ANY RECURRENCES.I THINK REPROGRAMMING THE MODULE IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. NOW EVERYTIME I DRIVE IT, IT WILL DOWN SHIFT. I DROVE 35 MPH AND RETURNED HOME AND HAD TO KEEP IT IN LOW SPEED.SO APPARENTLY THE REPROGRAMMING IS NOT A FIX. IT IS STILL UNSAFE AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED PROPERLY SO MY VEHICLE WILL BE SAFE ON THE HIGHWAY. EVENTUALLY MORE PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT FIXED RIGHT. FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY FOR THERE DEFECTS.NOT THE CONSUMERS. I ALMOST HAD A WRECK BECAUSE FORD IS TRYING TO FIX THERE MISTAKES THE CHEAPEST WAY OUT, NOT THE SAFEST. WHEN ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTO A LOWER GEAR, DOWNSHIFTING IMPROPERLY CAUSING A BUMP IN THE RIDE AND A DANGER IN CLEAN ACCELERATION. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND IS A CONTRIBUTING POWER TRAIN ISSUE.

THE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON MY 2011 FORD F150 IS SHOWING THE SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE. (SUDDENLY VERY LOUD) IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS PART GOES BAD TOO QUICKLY AND OFFERS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR TRUCKS SHOWING THIS SYMPTOM, IF THE TRUCK WAS BUILT AT CERTAIN PLANTS AND CERTAIN DATES. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT AT ONE OF THOSE PLANTS AND BETWEEN THOSE DATES, BUT THEY CLAIM THAT MY TRUCK DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM BECAUSE SUPPOSEDLY THE PART IN MY TRUCK ISN'T THE SAME ONE EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS THE SAME, IT'S IN THE SAME SPOT, IT'S FAILING THE SAME WAY, AND IT'S FAILING WITHIN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD. THEY ALSO SAY THAT WHEN THIS PART FAILS IT CAN SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCE BRAKING POWER.
