DRIVING IN A STRIP MALL THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND A CODE STATING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING CAME ON. I HAD TO FORCEFULLY STEER INTO A PARKING SPACE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY FROM THRU TRAFFIC. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND IT RESET THE WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO AN O'REILLYS WHERE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO HELP ME. THE STEERING LOCKED UP AGAIN AT O'REILLYS. I HAD TO CALL A NEPHEW TO HELP ME WITH TRUCK TO A SHOP TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THREE SAME CODE CAME ON. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RANDALL REED'S PLANET FORD (19000 EASTEX FWY, HUMBLE, TX 77338, (866) 844-5995) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V128000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 172,245.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON START OF HIS VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD HARDEN AS THE FAILURE OCCURRED. ALSO, THE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING MESSAGE WAS INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WOULD EMIT FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC VACUUM PUMP. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH TADD JENKINS FORD (1090 FORD WAY, BLACKFOOT, ID 83221) AND THE MANUFACTURER WHO BOTH INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE ELECTRONIC VACUUM PUMP. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY FORD F150 ABOUT 45MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A HARD JERK. SO HARD I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT ME, THEN A WRENCH CAME ON THE SCREEN. AFTER IT JERKED IT SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY. I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT TO O'REILLY'S AUTO AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THAT MACHINE AND IT GAVE A CODE THAT HAD TO DO WITH A CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS WERE OVER UNTIL THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY BEFORE I COULD TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE HOOKED IT UP TO HIS MACHINE AND SAID THAT ONE OF THE SENSORS WAS NOT REGISTERING THEN I REMEMBERED I HAD A RECALL ON A SENSOR THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION SO I TOOK IT TO THE FORD HOUSE. I DIDN'T HAVE THE RECALL PAPER WITH ME SO THEY LOOKED IT UP ON THEIR COMPUTER AND SAID THEY WERE GOING TO REPROGRAM THE SOFTWARE THAT GOES TO A SENSOR IN MY TRANSMISSION. AND IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING AND IT DOESN'T MATTER, THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD EVER TAKE IT OUT ON THE HIGHWAY I DON'T EVEN WANT TO DRIVE IT ANY FASTER THAN LIKE 25 MILES AN HOUR BECAUSE IT JERKS SO HARD AND THERE'S NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENS WHATSOEVER. IT'S SCARY, VERY SCARY. MY COMPLAINT IS I DID THE RECALL AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT BECAUSE IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING LIKE I NEVER I KNOW WHEN IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THROUGH THE CODE AND IS NO LONGER PROGRAMMED I DON'T KNOW BUT IT'S UNSAFE AND I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT AT ALL BECAUSE PEOPLE HONK AT ME AFTERWARDS BECAUSE I GO SO SLOW SO I TURNED MY HAZARDS ON. PEOPLE ARE RUDE NOW DAYS IF THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW SOMEONE DRIVING SUPER SLOW. WHICH I DO BECAUSE OF THE JERK AND THE SOUND IT MAKES. UNSAFE.
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
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PINES FORD (8655 PINES BLVD, PEMBROKE PINES, FL 33024, (954) 443-7000) TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED. THE CONTACT NEVER EXPERIENCED A FAILURE PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. AFTER THE REPAIR, WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DOWNSHIFT MULTIPLE TIMES AS HE ATTEMPTED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOOK BACK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE AND, AFTER THREE DAYS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT FORD DID NOT HAVE COVERAGE FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 197,869.
WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WAS MAKING LOUD THUD NOISE WHEN TURNING OR WHEN YOU HIT A SMALL BUMP WHEN TURNING. UNDER FURTHER INSPECTION,THE DRIVERS SIDE STRUT SPRING IS BROKEN.
STARTED MY VEHICLE AND WENT TO LEAVE A GAS STATION. STEPPED ON BRAKES TO STOP FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THE PEDAL WAS HARD AS A ROCK AND DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. PRESSED SUPER HARD ON THE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. IT WAS FINE AFTER THAT UNTIL I GOT HOME, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND LEFT SIT FOR AN HOUR. STARTED VEHICLE AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP ISSUE. I CALLED FORD TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE (15N05), OF COURSE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, I DO NOT THINK SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PRESS HARD ENOUGH FOR IT TO STOP.
WHILE DRIVING REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WAS ON AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE GLASS JUST SHATTERED.
VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SHIFTED TO 1ST AND IS NOW STUCK IN 5TH GEAR TAKING TO DEALERSHIP BUT THE FACT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND CAN GET US KILLED IT IS BEYOND ME HOW FORD IS DEALING WITH THIS. THERE IS A 2 WEEK DELAY JUST TO GER OUR VEHICLES IN. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?
THE REAR DEFROST HAD BEEN ACTING UP NOT WANTING TO WORK EVERY TIME I'D TRY AND USE IT FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS. WELL ON THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 7 I WENT TO WARM MY TRUCK UP AND TRIED MY DEFROST AND IT DIDN'T LIGHT UP SO I FIGURED WELL ITS NOT WORKING. SO AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICE THAT MY BACK GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE BACK GLASS. I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BREAK AND THERE WAS NO OTHER SIGN OF IMPACT. JUST OUT OF NOWHERE. SO I DID SOME RESEARCH INTO FORD F150S AND BACK GLASS BREAKS AND CAME ACROSS A LOT OF REPORTS OF PEOPLE WHO WERE IN FACT HAVING DEFROST ISSUES. . SO MY BEST GUESS IS THE ELECTRICAL IN THE HEATED GLASS SHORTED OUT OR SENT A MASSIVE POWER SURGE THROUGH THE GLASS CAUSING IT TO SHATTER. . EITHER WAY THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE THAT FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR.
ONLY 98,000 MILES ON THIS VERY WELL MAINTAINED TRUCK. NO ENGINE ISSUE, NO ISSUES AT ALL,, AND AS I ACCELERATED TO PASS A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE, WHICH MEANS MY TURBOS KICKED IN, MY ENGINE BLEW UP. THERE WAS A CLUNCK AND THEN NOTHING. THERE IS ACTUALLY A HOLE IN MY ENGINE BLOCK. THIS NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. THIS ENGINE IS NOT BUILT TO WITHSTAND THE TURBOS. I AM AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING TO 4 OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME ECOBOOST MOTOR. I HAVE CONTACT D FORD AND NO ONE WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60-65 MPH, the power train warning light illuminated, and the vehicle downshifted unintendedly and went into LIMP mode. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that as he turned off and restarted the vehicle, he was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle downshifted from sixth gear to first gear, almost causing another vehicle to crash into the rear of his vehicle. There was no warning illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure unless there was a warning light illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

THERES A PARALYTIC SHORT IN THE TRUCK THAT DRAINS THE BATTERY WITHIN HOURS. THE TRUCK NEEDS TO BE JUMPED EVERYTIME I TRY TO START THE VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY BUT THE SOURCE IS COMING FROM THE ECU. !

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ARRIVED AND FOUND THAT ONE OF THE ENGINE PISTONS FAILED AND PENETRATED THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO EXPLODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 24890103. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
RIGHT AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT STARTED SENDING SIGNALS FOR ERROR CODES. TAKEN TO SHOP CLEARED CODES ,STARTED AGAIN A WEEK LATER. NOW THE ELECTRIC STEERING SYSTEM HAS GONE OUT. NO WARNING JUST STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE HAS 91037 MILES ON IT.
I HAVE BEEN HEARING RATTLING NOISE MOST EVERY TIME I START MY TRUCK FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND HAD SUSPECTED IT TO BE A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ON LINE AND FINDING NUMEROUS OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK IT IN, THE REPAIR SHOP COULDN'T FIND AN ERROR CODE. UNTIL THIS PAST WEEK WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY APPEARED. NOW IT IS IN THE SHOP GETTING THE TIMING CHAINS REPLACED AT A PROPOSED COST OF $3,400! I, LIKE MANY MANY OTHERS, BELIEVE THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE THOUGH FORD SEEMS TO BE IGNORING IT. AFTER LOSING A TRANSMISSION EARLIER THIS YEAR DUE TO AN OFFICIAL RECALL ISSUE (OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS) FAILURE THAT RESULTED IN SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING TO 1ST GEAR AT HIGH SPEEDS, WHICH COST ME OVER $7,000., I NOW FACE ANOTHER $3,400 IN COSTS DUE TO ANOTHER FLAWED COMPONENT IN MY 2011 FORD F150. LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE PAYING FOR MY TRUCK A COUPLE TIMES! FORD SHOULD STEP UP ON THIS! I'D GET RID OF THIS TRUCK IF I COULD.
ON 2 OCCASIONS (IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS) WHILE DRIVING MY FORD 150 (2011) (ON THE FREEWAY ABOUT 50MPH) I SUDDENLY FELT LIKE I WAS REAR-ENDED AND MY HEAD WENT BACKWARDS ON THE HEAD REST. I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR EXPECTING TO SEE A VEHICLE WHO HAD HIT ME, BUT THERE WAS NONE. ON OCT 3, 2019, THE SAME THING HAPPENED (WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30MPH) AND I ONCE AGAIN LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO SEE IF THERE WAS A CAR THAT HIT ME, THERE WASN'T. ALSO AFTER THE 2ND INCIDENT THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY, WENT OFF, AND THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO, EVEN THOUGH I WAS PROBABLY DRIVING 30 MILES AN HOUR. I PULLED THE TRUCK OVER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN I RESTARTED IT, THE SPEEDOMETER WORKED AGAIN. I HONESTLY FEEL THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN (THAT IS WHAT THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT INDICATES). BOTH OF THESE INCIDENTS WERE VERY FRIGHTENING BECAUSE I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE, RATHER THERE WAS SOME SORT OF MECHANICAL FAILURE IN THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED USAA TO FILE A CLAIM, BUT THEY SAID MECHANICAL FAILURE IS NOT COVERED. ON OCT 4TH I TOOK THE TRUCK TO BICKFORD FORD (IN SNOHOMISH, WA, WHERE I BOUGHT IT) AND LEFT IT THERE. THE SHOP SAID THEY MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO FIX IT FOR 3 WEEKS BECAUSE THEY'RE VERY BACKED UP. I WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A RENTAL CAR. I WENT ONLINE TO SEARCH FOR FORD 150 (2011) ISSUES AND THERE WAS A COMPLAINT DATED JUNE 15, 2011 THAT DESCRIBES THE EXACT SAME THING THAT I EXPERIENCED ("FEELING LIKE YOU'RE HIT FROM BEHIND CAUSING YOU TO SLAM YOUR HEAD AND BODY ON THE SEAT"). PLEASE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, IN MY HEART I KNOW THIS MUST BE A RECALL ISSUE!

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. UPON INVESTIGATION THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN).THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 340,000.
WHILE TURNING THE POWER STEERING WOULD GET HARD TO TURN. THIS WOULD HAPPEN ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. WHILE TURNING YOU COULD FEEL A TIGHT SPOT WHERE IT WAS HARD TO TURN THEN IT WOULD LOOSEN UP THEN BECOME TIGHT AGAIN. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP GETTING A NEW POWER STEERING UNIT PUT IN
WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY MY VEHICLE DOWN SHIFTED AND THE WHEELS LOCKED UP ON ITS OWN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.

DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WITH NO OTHER PREVIOUS INDICATIONS THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED HARD TO THE RIGHT THEN THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. THE POWER STEERING FAULT MESSAGE AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC MESSAGE WERE DISPLAYED ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPTED A SHUT DOWN AND RESTART. THE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW MESSAGE WAS THEN DISPLAYED.
AFTER RECEIVING RECALL 19S07-19V-075 BY MAIL AND HAVING IT REPROGRAMMED BY CRATER LAKE FORD MEDFORD,OR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS WORSE THAN THE ORIGINAL. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AT GEORGIA PLANT. 3.7 FLEX FUEL. I WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN A MOUNTAIN PASS WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO DISENGAGE AND THEN ABRUPTLY SHIFTED TO A LOWER GEAR. THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS FLAWLESSLY ON MOST GRADES. THE PROBLEM ONLY SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN DURING ON HIGHWAYS IN THE MOUNTAINS. 39K MILES. WAY TOO MANY LIGHT BULBS HAVE GONE OUT ON THIS MODEL. NEVER OFF-ROADED . NOT A WORK TRUCK. NEVER EVEN TOWED ANYTHING. SINCE THAT DOWNHILL CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM OCCURRED, NOW I HAVE AN ANTIFREEZE COOLANT LEAK AT THE EXPANSION OVERFLOW TANK ON THE 3/4 QUICK DISCONNECT HOSE . VEHICLE HAS NEVER OVERHEATED. LOW SPEED HIGH REV BEFORE SHIFTING INTO 2ND GEAR. CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM ONLY ON HIGHWAY GOING DOWNHILL. DID THEY MISTAKENLY REPROGRAM MY F150 WITH WRONG RECALL?
CURRENTLY MY TRUCK IS UNDER A SAFETY RECALL TO UPDATE THE NEW SOFTWARE ON PCM FOR INTERMITTENT DOWN SHIFTS AT ANY SPEED. ALSO THERE IS A MOLDED LEADFRAME WARRANTY EXTENSION. I'M THANKFUL I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THE DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST. BUT HAVE NOTICED IT DOWN SHIFTS ON HIGHWAY FROM 6TH TO 5TH TO 4TH AND BACK UP. ALSO HESITATES VIOLENTLY WHEN TRYING TO PASS OR ACCELERATE. LAIRD NOLLERF3ORD IN LAWRENCE,KS IS DOING UPDATE ON PCM MONDAY SEPT 16TH. MY VIN IS INCLUDED, BUT THEY SAY THEY HAVE TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC AND CAN ONLY REPLACE LEADFRAME IF CERTAIN CODES ARE RELATED. I PERSONALLY THINK THE TRANSMISSION MOULDED LEADFRAME SHOULD BE REPLACED AND THAN UPDATE PCM AFTER. FROM WHAT I READ THE SENSORS ARE THE PROBLEM REGARDLESS OF THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. IF MY VIN IS ON THE FIELD SERVICE RECALL AND THE SAFETY RECALL. BOTH SHOULD BE DONE FREE OF CHARGE PARTS AND LABOR. REGARDLESS OF THE CODES. ITS FORDS [XXX] UP. BRAKE FAILURE - 2011 FORD F-150, 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION, BRAKES FAILED FROM A FIRM RESPONSE TO ZERO RESPONSE (BRAKE PEDDLE WENT FULL IN). SHOP INFORMED ME MASTER CYLINDER SEAL FAILED DUMPING BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BOOSTER. SENSOR ALSO IN FAILED CONDITION. ALL THREE PARTS NEED REPLACED. FORD RECALL OUT FOR THIS CONDITION ON 2013-2016 F-150 6 SPEED TRUCKS. THIS CONDITION IS THE SAME FOR MY 2011. FORD HAS TOLD ME THAT RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE ALTHOUGH SIMILAR. THE STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. HE HAD TO BREAK HARD TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A JERSEY BARRIER. THE STEERING UNLOCKED IN THE NICK OF TIME. SINCE THEN THE STEERING INTERMITTENTLY FREEZES CAUSING HIM TO MANIPULATE THE STEERING SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT THEN BACK TO LEFT. WE BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO FORD AND WAS QUOTED $1700.00 FOR A NEW STEERING RACK. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THERE IS NOT PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE THAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT THIS.
WHILE DRIVING ON HWY AT 55MPH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 3RD GEAR CAUSING THE TRUCK TO RAPIDLY SLOW DOWN MID TRAFFIC WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND STOP THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY DID SOMETHING WORKED FOR A LITTLE BUT DID NOT FIX PROBLEM.
VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INSIDE THE STEERING GEAR. SENSOR HAS FAILED AND IS NOT SERVICEABLE AND WILL COST $2200 FOR REPAIR. SINCE THE SENSOR HAS FAILED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM IS DISABLED CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. FORD USED THIS DESIGN FROM 11/03/10 TO 01/03/11. THIS DESIGN WAS REPLACED WITH ONE WHICH PLACES THE SENSOR IN THE STEERING COLUMN FOR EASY REPLACEMENT. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD FOR REPAIR ASSISTANCE AND SO FAR ALL CLAIMS HAVE BEEN DENIED.
WHILE DRIVING AUTO TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT UP FROM 1ST GEAR AND WHILE TRAVELING TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT TO FIRST FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THUS CAUSING A STRAIN ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING ABILITY SEIZED AND WENT FROM POWER STEERING TO MANUAL STEERING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER, AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO CROWN FORD (256 SWAIN ST, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28303) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT END POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
I WAS ON A TWO LANE RESIDENTIAL ROAD. IT HAD BEEN RAINING AND THE STREET WAS STILL DAMP. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MPH. I WAS SLOWING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT. I BARELY MISSED HITTING 3 TELEGRAM POLES WHICH ARE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE BLINKED ON AND OFF SO QUICKLY I AM STILL NOT SURE IF I READ IT CORRECTLY. I WAS ALSO TOO BUSY TRYING TO CORRECT THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE ON-COMING TRAFFIC. I WAS TURNING OFF THE 2 LANE ROAD ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, THAT NORMALLY HAS CARS PARKED AND INTERMITTENT VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. I AM GRATEFUL THAT I WAS SLOWING FOR THE TURN AND MORE GRATEFUL THAT THERE WAS NO ON-COMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND IT TOOK ME APPROXIMATELY 15-20 MINUTES TO MAKE IT HOME (WHICH IS LESS THAN A HALF OF A MILE). THE POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE.

BRAKE VACUUM PUMP FAILED WHICH RESULTED IN BRAKE PEDAL BEING VERY STIFF AND BRAKES BEING VERY POOR AFTER A COLD START.
I WAS DRIVING AT 70MPH ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK. THIS SECTION OF THE ROAD IS DESCRIBED AS AN "S" CURVE. WHILE ENTERING INTO THE FIRST CURVE THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. IT WAS INTERMITTENTLY CHANGING FROM STIFF TO SOFT AND BACK TO STIFF. SO AT TIMES I HAD TO FIGHT TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL IN POSITION, BUT FEARING THAT IF I TURNED IT TOO HARD IT COULD REACH A SOFT SECTION OF CONTROL AND SLAM MY FAMILY INTO THE BRICK WALL. THIS SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY IS 3 LANES EACH DIRECTION, AND THIS WAS DURING RUSH HOUR. WITH SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM. THIS TIME MY FAMILY AND I WERE LUCKY.

THERE IS A COMPLIANCE RECALL 12C23 DATED MAY 30, 2012 WHICH ADDRESSES THE EXACT SAME ISSUES I AM EXPERIENCING: ' TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE INTO REVERSE GEAR ' ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION PRNDL INDICATOR DOES NOT DISPLAY REVERSE (IF EQUIPPED) ' BACK-UP LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE ' INTERMITTENT REAR VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION WHEN I CONTACTED FORD, THEY VERIFIED MY TRUCK WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY 2011; WHICH WAS BEFORE THE TERMS OF THE COMPLIANCE RECALL COVERING THE PERIOD COVERING OCTOBER 2011 - FEBRUARY 2012. YET MY TRUCK IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES REFLECTED IN THE COMPLIANCE RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE COMPLIANCE RECALL 12C23. AS IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE I AM EXPERIENCING AND WAS MANUFACTURED A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THE RECALL DATE RANGE AND WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME MANUFACTURING FACILITY LISTED. INTERMITTENTLY THE STEERING WHEEL WILL TIGHTEN AT LOW SPEED IN REVERSE. STEERING ASSIST FAULT APPEARS ON THE DASH. NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER ONCE THIS OCCURS. HAPPENED PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY TWICE TODAY IN REVERSE.
TRUCK HAS 110,000 AND REQUIRES ENGINE REPLACEMENT. ENGINE MADE RATTLE NOISE UPON COLD START UP DUE TO TIMING CHAIN STRETCH. CAM SHAFT HAS BROKEN OFF
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT ALL MY LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE SWOLLEN AND WERE VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. THE SERVICE ADVISER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. I ASKED THAT ALL 24 LUG NUTS BE RETURNED. WHEN THEY WERE RETURNED THE SERVICE TECH WHO WORKED ON MY TRUCK ALSO SAID THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE A POOR DESIGN.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 07/30/19. ON OR AROUND 08/01/19 THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I NOTIFIED BOTH SALESMEN AT THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY BY TEXT MESSAGE AND PHOTOS. CHRIS INDICATED THAT THE TRUCK NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE. SO I HAD THE OIL CHANGE DONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TEXT MESSAGE. TWO OR THREE DAYS LATER, THE TRUCK JERKED AGAIN. I CALLED CHRIS AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE TRUCK WAS JERKING AGAIN. CHRIS INDICATED I TAKE IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED WITH AN ODB2. THE TRUCK OBD2 INDICATED THAT THE TRUCK HAD A PROBLEM WITH CAMSHAFT SENSORS. FROM THE PARTS STORE I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHOWED THE RESULTS OF THE OBD2. CHRIS INDICATED THAT HE WOULD DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITH JESSE TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. WITHIN TWO TO THREE DAYS I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT JESSE COULD TEST DRIVE THE TRUCK. WHEN JESSE TEST DROVE THE TRUCK, IT DID NOT JERK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF. JESSE INDICATED THAT HE AND THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT HELP ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OR CODES TO INDICATE THERE WAS AN PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK. JESSE, CHRIS AND PETE THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE TRUCK WOULD BE SAFE TO DRIVE. ON OR AROUND THE 08/20/19 I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AND MY HUSBAND, JOSE, INDICATED THAT THE TRUCK WAS JERKING. ON OR AROUND 08/26/19 I PERSONALLY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO CHRIS AND LET HIM KNOW THE TRUCK WAS STILL JERKING. CHRIS INDICATED THAT HE WOULD SPEAK TO JESSE. THAT SAME AFTERNOON, I RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE FROM CHRIS. HE INDICATED THAT THEY COULD OFFER LABOR AND PARTS TO FIX THE TRUCK. BUT THEN CONTINUES THE TEXT INDICATING THAT IT WOULD COST ME $200. I WENT PERSONALLY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND INDICATED TO JESSE AND CHRIS THAT THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THE TRUCK BEGAN JERKING TWO DAYS AFTER THE DAY OF PURCHASE. I NEED THIS RESOLVED. PLEASE HELP.
I HAD JUST PICKED MY SON UP FROM DAYCARE AND WAS TURNING OFF HIGHWAY ON WAY HOME AND I LOST POWER STEERING. THEN SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WAS FLASHING ON THE CLUSTER SCREEN. AND NOT EVEN A YEAR AGO I JUST HAD THE RACK AND PINION REPLACED ON THIS TRUCK.
