THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE DOWNSHIFTED DURING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,642.

TAKATA RECALL'- OUR TRUCK KEEPS SHIFTING INTO SEVERAL GEARS CAUSING THE TRUCK TO PULL BACK HARD AND UNABLE TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAY DUE TO SHIFTING CHANGES WHICH CAN'T BE CONTROLLED BY THE DRIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS HIGH SPEEDS ON AN INCLINE, THE TRANSMISSION'S GEAR SHIFTING ABILITY MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND THE SPEEDOMETER DECREASED TO ZERO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WRENCH ICON ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER (VIVA FORD, 5550 N DESERT BLVD, EL PASO, TEXAS 79912, (915) 834-2800) DIAGNOSED THAT THE PLASTIC LEAD FRAME, FOAM SEAL, BULKHEAD CONNECTOR, AND OIL PAN GASKET WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FIRST STARTED, THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK. WHEN I CRANK THE VEHICLE AND PUT IN REVERSE THE BRAKES DO NOT HAVE ANY PRESSURE AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY GRINDS TO A HALT WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES EXTREMELY HARD. ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES AFTER CRANKING THE BRAKES WORK FINE. I HAVE NEARLY BACKED DOWN A LARGE HILL MULTIPLE TIMES.
TRUCK SHIFTED FROM 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR. CAUSED TRUCK TO SLIDE AND THEN GAUGES FAILED. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND CUT ENGINE OFF. RESTARTED AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FINE. TRUCK DOES THIS ABOUT EVERY TWO DAYS. THIS WAS ON A STRAIGHT HIGHWAY.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK, IT HAS BEGUN TO RIDE CHOPPY WHEN ACCELERATING AT AROUND 40-MPH AND 60-MPH. THE CHOPPY PERFORMANCE GOES AWAY WHEN HARD ACCELERATING (PUTTING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR) AT THOSE SPEEDS, BUT THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN CONTINUOUSLY DOING THIS AT 60-MPH. THE TRUCK STARTS TO LOSE POWER AND DOES NOT SHIFT, NOR RIDE SMOOTHLY AT THE SPEEDS; THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHIMMY. THIS HAS MAINLY OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAYS, WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS HIGHER, BUT THE PROBLEMS HAS ALSO OCCURRED ON SIDE STREETS. IT OCCURS ONLY WHEN ACCELERATING, NOT IN DECELERATION.
TAKATA RECALL...WHILE DRIVING ACROSS TOWN I NOTICED MY TRUCK'S STEERING WHEEL ACTING, VERY DIFFERENT. WHILE ARRIVING AT A STOP LIGHT, AT A BUSY INTERSECTION I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL STIFFEN AND LOOSEN REPEATEDLY UNTIL FINALLY IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. I HAD TO USE ALL OF MY STRENGTH TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THE SLIGHTEST TURN BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE. IT WAS NOT UNTIL AFTER MY WHEEL STIFFENED THAT MY TRUCK'S DASHBOARD DISPLAYED A MESSAGE THAT SAID (SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW). THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OF THIS WAS THAT ALL OF MY CHILDREN WERE WITH ME. HAD MY TEEN DAUGHTER CHOSEN TO BORROW MY TRUCK FOR AN ERRAND, IN A DIFFERENT CITY EARLIER THAT DAY, SHE MIGHT HAVE EITHER BEEN STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR SHE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A FATAL CAR CRASH TRAVELING 60 MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY. MY TRUCK DID NOT NOTIFY MY OF ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL IT 2-3 MINUTES AFTER IT HAPPENED. WE HAD TO CANCEL OUR PLANS AND DRIVE TO A NEARBY FAMILY MEMBER'S HOUSE. WHICH WASN'T MY PRIOR DESTINATION. I HAD TO REALLY USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO MAKE TURNS OR TO SIMPLY MOVE 2 INCHES TO AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ESPECIALLY AS I TURN INTO INTERSECTIONS. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE? I'VE LOOKED UP THIS ISSUE AND THERE'S DIFFERENT FORUMS WITH PLENTY OF ISSUES LIKE MINE. SOME WITH VERY LOW MILES AND MID MILES LIKE MINE. I'VE CALLED FORD AND THEY DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. ARE THEY WAITING FOR A TRAFFIC INJURIES OR DEATHS, HOW MANY DO THEY NEED FOR THERE TO BE FOR A RECALL? THE COST OF THIS ISSUE TO BE REPLACED COULD RUN FROM $1500 TO $1800 MORE OR LESS.

POWER STEERING IS " HITCHY " AND DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER AFTER A TURN , THIS REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING EFFORT TO STAY WITHIN ONES LANE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IT IS QUITE UNNERVING .THE VEHICLE HAS 52221 MILES ON IT.
P0705 TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR INPUT FAILURE. FORD SAYS THERE ARE ZERO RECALLS ON THIS VIN EVER.
BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS AGO, WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, IT BEGAN SUFFERING SUDDEN DOWN SHIFTS. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT WOULD SUDDENLY DROP INTO THIRD GEAR, OR FIRST GEAR, VERY DRAMATIC! VERY SCARY! SOMETIMES IT WOULD GET STUCK IN FIRST GEAR WHEN I PULLED AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN AND, WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, I HAD TO FIND A WAY TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT TO CLEAR THIS FAULT. SOMETIMES THE FAULT WOULD NOT CLEAR WHEN I RESTARTED THE TRUCK. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY AND I WAS VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF MY FAMILY, WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN. WE PURCHASED THIS AS A FAMILY AND WORK TRUCK AND SUDDENLY WE FELT OUR LIVES WERE IN DANGER DRIVING IT. I LEARNED THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2011 F-150S FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM BUT WAS TOLD MY PARTICULAR TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED IN THIS RECALL. NO REASON WAS GIVEN. I OPTED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF AND IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THAT WAS A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO AND WE HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE RECURRENCE OF THE FAULT SINCE I PAID FOR THE REPAIR. DURING A PHONE CALL WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY I WAS PROMISED BY THEIR EMPLOYEE SHAY, EMPLOYEE NUMBER TO 19116 3, THAT FOR IT WOULD BE FULLY COVERING MY REPAIR. CAS - 17206 574 THEY DID COVER A REPAIR NUMBER ONE NINE S07, BUT THE MECHANIC IN CHARGE AT VALLEY FORD IN KALISPELL MONTANA TOLD ME I NEEDED 16 N 02. ONCE 16 N02 HAD BEEN PERFORMED MY TRUCK NO LONGER HAS SUFFERED ANY DOWNSHIFT OR TRANSMISSION ERRORS. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT MY TRUCK AND MANY LIKE IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE 16N02 RECALL. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WILL RANDOMLY UNLATCH. AT THIS POINT THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH UNTIL YOU GET OUT AND MANUALLY MOVE THE LATCHING MECHANISM.
2011 FORD F-150 LARIAT 5.0. 132,000 MILES. 16N02 ' MOLDED LEADFRAME EXTENDED COVERAGE ' 2011-2012 FORD & LINCOLN. MY F-150 BUILT IN JANUARY 2011 AT KANSAS CITY ASSEMBLY IS NOT COVERED BY THE CURRENT EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE DUE TO THE RANGE OF MONTHS COVERED IN 2011. MY TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED WHILE DRIVING.THE WRENCH INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE TRUCK WOULD ONLY GO INTO 5TH GEAR AFTER I STOPPED AND CYCLED THE KEY. WHEN DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP IN LIMP MODE, IT DOWNSHIFTED AGAIN AND WAS STUCK IN 3RD GEAR. DEALER IS REPLACING THE LEAD FRAME, ELECTRICAL SLEEVE, AND THE NECESSARY FILTER, FLUID, AND PAN GASKET. THEY ADMIT IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AS THE TSB BUT I AM NOT COVERED. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS UNWILLING TO HELP. LUCKY FOR ME THIS ISSUE HAPPENED ON A BACK ROAD CLOSE TO HOME. IT IS OBVIOUS THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CURRENT COVERAGE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. FORD SHOULD NOT BE MAKING MONEY IN THE SERVICE LANE OFF THIS DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T JUST FEEL THAT MYSELF AND OTHERS SHOULD BE REIMBURSED. I KNOW WE SHOULD.
TAKATA RECALL. THE BRAKES WILL LOCK UP AND WON'T STOP THE TRUCK EVEN WHEN PUSHED IN ALL THE WAY. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT WILL GO AWAY BUT HAVE STILL ALMOST HIT SEVERAL THINGS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HOPE THAT THIS CAN BE FIXED. THANKS
STARTED WITH AN 'ADVANCE TRAC' SERVICE INDICATOR WARNING AT FIRST WHILE TURNING OR BACKING UP. THEN WHILE IN REVERSE, A PARKING ASSIST SERVICE INDICATOR WARNING APPEARED ON DISPLAY. THESE WARNINGS DID NOT LAST LONG AND WAS NOT APPEARING EVERY START UP. THE WARNING ITSELF DID NOT PREPARE ME FOR A STEERING LOCK UP EITHER. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR FORD MADE ALL ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, WHICH IS HAVOC AND COULD'VE BEEN AN EASIER FIX IF A CONSUMER COULD'VE JUST ADDED FLUID. A WEEK LATER WHILE TURNING INTO DRIVEWAY, THE STEERING TOTALLY LOCKED UP MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE WHEEL. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES ON SIDE OF US TO COLLIDE WITH. SINCE THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS YET AND MANY COMPLAINTS ON SAME SUBJECT, THIS WILL BE A COSTLY EXPENSE FOR US AS FORD TRIES TO SEE IF THIS ALL ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WILL WORK OR NOT. WE SHOULD BE NOT GUINEA PIGS FOR THIS EXPERIMENT AND FORD SHOULD HAVE TESTED AND VETTED THOROUGHLY BEFORE PUT ON MARKET. WE'VE JUST HIT 100K MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
MY 2011 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST STEERING IS STICKING PRETTY BAD WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN. IT VARIES BETWEEN A GRADUAL LEFT TURN TO A SHARP 90 DEGREE TURN, BUT I ALWAYS HAVE TO "PULL" IT BACK TO THE RIGHT TO STRAIGHTEN THE VEHICLE OUT. IT SEEMS VERY SCARY WHEN YOU MEET A SEMI AND THE STEERING STICKS AND I'M AFRAID OF OVER CORRECTING THE VEHICLE. I HAD A CLOSE CALL THE OTHER MORNING SO I PARKED IT TO AVOID ANY FUTURE MISHAPS.
MY 2011 FORD F150 LARIAT 5.0L HAS 100,000 MILES AT WHICH TIME I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH ERRATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING. T HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BOTH AT HIGH SPEEDS AND LOW SPEEDS. TRUCK WILL DOWNSHIFT AND TRANSMISSION JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE. VERY SCARY AND VERY UNSAFE. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ERROR CODE WHICH WAS P0720 OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT. I CHECKED MY VIN AND DID NOT FIND ANY RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH MY TRUCK. I CALLED MULTIPLE FORD DEALERS WHO TOLD ME THE SAME THING. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND READ ON EDMONDS.COM, CARS.COM, AND NHTSA THAT FORD HAS A RECALL EFFECTING 2011 FORD F150S WITH THE 6R80 TRANSMISSION BUILT BETWEEN AUG 19TH, 2011 AND MARCH 09, 2012. MINE WAS BUILT WITH THE 6R80 TRANSMISSION WITH A BUILD DATE OF SEP 6TH, 2011. BASED ON WHAT I READ AND THE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE RECALL I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE MY TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED. I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE SO I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND OPENED CASE# CAF15213386. I THEN TOOK MY TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER TO HAVE THE FIX APPLIED WHICH WAS TO UPDATE THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE COSTING ME $180. I WAS THEN TOLD THIS WOULD NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM. TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY LEAD FRAME WHICH WOULD COST $1300 BUT THEY CAN'T GET ME IN UNTIL NEXT WEEK. THE RECALL NOTICE I READ INDICATED THE PCM SOFTWARE WOULD BE NO COST UNDER THE RECALL AND IF CODE PRESENTED ITSELF FORD WOULD PROVIDE A ONE TIME REPLACEMENT OF THE LEAD FRAME AT NO CHARGE WITHIN 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE TO SEE WHY MY TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. I WILL HAVE THE WORK DONE AND SAVE MY RECEIPTS IN HOPES THAT I WILL BE REIMBURSED AFTER THIS CASE AND FORD CASE ARE RESOLVED.
2011 FORD F150 VACUUM ASSIST PUMP FAILED AND WAS REPLACED ON 10/19/16 AT 79320 MILES. THE PUMP IS FAILING AGAIN IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE. THE TRUCK NOW HAS 107757 MILES AND FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE THE PUMP UNDER WARRANTY RECALL. THE NEW PUMP STARTED MAKING NOISE AROUND 03/18 WITH 102000 MILES. THE NEW PUMP ONLY LASTED 17 MONTHS AND 22600 MILES. FORD IS REPLACING A BAD PUMP WITH A BAD PUMP
VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS WHILE DRIVING ABRUPTLY AND WITHOUT CAUSE. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY AND CITY SPEEDS AS WELL AS WITH AND WITHOUT A TRAILER IN TOW. THE FRONT END STILL IS ALL OVER THE ROAD, FOLLOWING TIRE REPLACEMENT, BRAKE REPLACEMENT AND ALIGNMENT.
THE TRUCK WHEN MAKING A TURN TO THE LEFT STICKS WHEN TRYING TO RETURN WHEEL TO STRIGHT. IN A NORMAL TURN WHEN YOU FINISH THE TURN YOU CAN LET THE WHEEL SLIDE THRU YOUR HANDS AND IT WILL STRIGHTEN BY IT SELF. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I ENDED UP IN THE OTHER LANE. I'VE BEEN CHECKING ON LINE AND HAVE FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE EPAS GEAR FOR THIS YEAR TRUCK. FORD SHOULD ORDER A RECALL TO FIX THIS COMMON PROBLEM. THIS ISN'T A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM THIS IS A FAULTY DESIGN.
ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION/ ADVANCED TRAC MALFUNCTION. STEERING IS FAILING, HARD TO TURN. MAKING NOISES. FORD DID RECALL THESE TRUCKS FOR THOSE REASONS BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY BATCH NUMBER. MY VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE RECALL. MINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED.
THE TRUCK WILL BE IN 5 OR 6 GEAR AND THROW ITS SELF DOWN INTO 3RD GEAR WITH OUT WARNING .
TRAVELING AT 50 MPH I HAD A SUDDEN DOWN SHIFT FROM 6TH GEAR DOWN TO 1ST GEAR. THE BACK WHEELS LOCKED UP CAUSING A SKID. THE LINE OF TRAFFIC BEHIND ME SUDDENLY HAD TO BREAK FOR ME. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS SPACE FOR ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY A RECALL.
WHEN STARTING TRUCK AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT, THE VACUUM PUMP IS LOUD FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES. CONCURRENTLY THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY FACTOR. WHEN STARTING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY ONE CANNOT TRUST THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE WHEN THE PETAL IS DEPRESSED. ONCE THE NOISE DIMINISHES THE BRAKES WORK.
REAR DOOR AJAR. SENSOR SHOWS DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR AS OPENED, WHEN IT HAS BEEN IN FACT CLOSED, CLOSED AND LOCKED, BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT CHILD LOCK ENGAGED.
THE TRUCK IS HAVING THE TRANSMISSION MOLDED LEAD FRAME ISSUE. TODAY MY WIFE WAS DRIVING 75 ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOCKUP. PRIOR TO THIS, IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE GAGES WILL JUMP ALL OVER WITH SPEED AND RPM. THE GEARS WOULD ALSO JUMP ALL OVER. I POSTED A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. THE TRUCK ALMOST STALLS OR REMAINS AT IDLE REGARDING OF GAS PEDAL INPUT. AN INTERMITTENT "WRENCH" ICON MAY APPEAR IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. RECYCLING THE ENGINE WILL TEMPORARILY CLEAR THE ISSUE. THIS OCCURRED EACH TIME AFTER BEING STOPPED AT IDLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION! I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS ALLOWED. THE FORD DEALER I CALLED SAID THE THROTTLE BODY SHOULD BE CLEANED EVERY 30,000 MILES.

WHILE BACKING OUT OF GARAGE, AFTER TRUCK SAT OVERNIGHT, I HAD EXTREMELY HARD BRAKE PEDAL AND ALMOST NO BRAKES, NARROWLY MISSING A PARKED CAR. AFTER ENGINE OPERATES FOR A WHILE, BRAKES RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE PROBLEM OCCURS NOW WHEN THE TRUCK SITS OVERNIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THIS LED TO TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 92K MILES WHEN THE SEALED TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO LOSE ABILITY TO PROPERLY DOWNSHIFT. TRANSMISSION HAD DEVELOPED LEAKDURING LONG TRIP WHICH WAS NOT DETECTABLE. TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE READ NORMAL THROUGHOUT THE DRIVING EVEN WHEN TRANS FAILED. VEHICLE SERVICE ON TRANSMISSION IS NOT UNTIL 150K MILES AND VEHICLE HAS NO DIP STICK TO CHECK LEVEL OR QUALITY OF FLUID. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A $5K BILL TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION WITH A REBUILT UNIT. I GET THAT IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY BUT A DESIGN THAT HAS NO WAY TO CHECK FLUID AND A DESIGN THAT REQUIRES GREASING THE DRIVE SHAFT SPLINE TO STOP BINDING OF SHAFT TO TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED WITH NO RECOURSE FOR THE CONSUMER.

CLEARLY ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE VACUUM PUMP POSE SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARDS TO OUR FAMILY AND OTHER PEOPLE. SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT FROM HIGHER GEAR TO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY IN MOTION IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN 3RD GEAR AND DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1ST AT ABOUT 30 MPH WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS IN 5TH GEAR GOING DOWNHILL AND THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERED THEN DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR AT ABOUT 40MPH. BOTH TIMES THE ENGINE RPM SPIKED AND IT WAS NECESSARY TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER OUT OF TRAFFIC UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION RESET ITSELF.

IT IS SCARY WHEN THE THE BREAK PEDAL LOCKS IN MIDAIR. WE HAVE TO PRESS IT SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT TO GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THIS DELAYS STOPPING THE TRUCK IN A TIMELY FASHION. ALSO THERE IS A HUMMING/ RATTLING SOUND IN THE VEHICLE. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD AT LEAST A MONTH UNTIL WE CAN AFFORD TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. AFTER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP WE DISCOVERED THAT THE TRUCK WAS ENTITLED TO THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM EXTENDED WARRENTEE NOTICE 15N05 POSTED IN 2016. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT APPLY TO OUR VEHICLE BECAUSE IT HAS 188,000 MILES. THIS PROGRAM SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL MATTER SINCE SO MANY F150'S HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S NOT FAIR THAT SO MANY PEOPLE HAD TO FIGHT TO THE RIGHT TO FIX THE ISSUE AND FORD ONLY GIVES CONSUMERS WITH OVER 150,000 MILES JUST OVER ONE YEAR TO GET IT REPAIRED FOR FREE. NOW WE ARE FORCED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A DEFECTIVE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP WHICH WOULD HAVE ENDED OUR WORRIES WITH THE BREAKS AND THE RATTLING SOUND. TRANSMISSION WILL SUDDENLY AND INTERMITTENTLY SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO LOW WHICH CAUSES AND SUDDEN DOWN SHIFT CAUSING A VERY LOUD NOISE. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES AND THE TRUCK STILL DOWNSHIFTS WITHOUT NOTICE. THIS OCCURS ON ANY CITY STREET ASPHALT OR ON A DIRT SEMI IMPROVED ROAD IN MOTION. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE WHILE TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER THE TRUCK MAY DOWNSHIFT AND CAUSE THE TRUCK AND TRAILER TO JACK KNIFE INJURING OR KILLING THE OCCUPANTS FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEMS BUT THE FINAL FIX REMAINS ELUSIVE. FORD SHOULD REPLACE THE EIGHT SPEED WITH A NEW 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SHOULD ENSUE.
