WHEN TRAVELING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WILL LOCK UP AND I WILL BE UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL FOR 1-2 SECONDS. FORTUNATELY, I HAVE NOT HIT ANYONE WHEN THIS HAPPENS, BUT IT MIGHT BE ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS WILL CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING SEIZED AND THE STEERING ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
AS ONE IS COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND EVEN AS ONE SLOWLY COMES OUT OF A COMPLETE STOP IT FEELS LIKE THE POWER POPS INTO THE GEAR. THE BUMP IS ONLY FELT THE MOMENT JUST BEFORE A COMPLETE STOP AND THE MOMENT OF COMING OUT OF COMPLETE STOP. THE POPPING HAPPENS 80% OF THE TIME WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT 100% OF THE TIME WHILE ACCELERATING OUT OF A COMPLEATE STOP. HAS NOT HAPPENED AT ALL WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE OTHER GEARS.
THE STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN TURNING LEFT. SOMETIMES IT IS FOR A ONLY MOMENTARY AND OTHER TIMES IT HAPPENS AND TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO UNLOCK. SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS AND AN OBVIOUS DEFECT. HAPPENS AT IDLE AS WELL AS UP TO FREEWAY SPEEDS. ONLY HAPPENS IN A LEFT HAND TURN.
FORD F150 2011 ECOBOOST ENGINE. IN 2015, TRUCK STARTED TO LOOSE POWER GOING UP HILLS OR CARRYING A LOAD IN TRUCK BED. THEN THE TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH. SO IN JANUARY 2015, FORD REPLACED TIMING CHAIN AT 60,000 MILES. NOW TWO YEARS LATER AND 40K MILES SINCE - TRUCK IS HAVING TIMING CHAIN ERRORS AGAIN. ENGINE LOOSES POWER AND ENGINE LIGHT AND CODES SET SAYING TIMING CHAIN ERRORS. SAME SYMPTOMS AS BEFORE. FORD SAYS TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WILL NOT FIX UNLESS I PAY.
ADVANCETRAC SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE MAKING RIGHT HAND TURNS. AFTER STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT STAYS OUT FOR A WHILE, THEN COMES BACK ON. ON ONE OCCASION THE TURN SIGNALS ALSO FAILED TO WORK.
GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 65MPH, LOST POWER STEERING. THIS IS GONNA KILL SOMEONE. FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS 1500 DOLLARS, I SAY YOU PAY FOR IT. NO WAY AT 120K MILES SHOULD I LOSE POWER STEERING.
TRANSMISSION MAY NOT GO INTO REVERSE OR WHEN THE DRIVER PUSHES THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE REVERSE 'R' POSITION AND THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION DOES GO IN REVERSE, THE 'R' MAY NOT ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD OF THE F-150. THE BACKUP LAMP ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE MAY NOT ILLUMINATE. THIS WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS YEAR MODEL BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD MY TRUCK WAS NOT AFFECTED. EVERY SYMPTOM DESCRIDED IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE. ANY TIME I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THE "R" ON THE DASH DOES NOT LIGHT UP AND IT TAKES APPROX.5-10 SECONDS FOR THE VEHICLE TO GO IN TO THE REVERSE GEAR AT WHICH TIME A YELLOW WRENCH APPEARS ON THE DASH. THE REVERSE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON AND THE REVERSE CAMERA DOES NOT ACTIVATE. AFTER THE WRENCH APPEARS THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT RECOGNIZE ANY GEAR. I HAVE TO SHUT THE TRUCK COMPLETELY OFF AND RESTART FOR DRIVE TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY TO WORK AT 4:45 AM (AND NOBODY ELSE ON THE ROAD), I PRESSED THE REAR DEFROSTER BUTTON TO CLEAR THE FROST FROM THE WINDOWS AND SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. IT WAS ABOUT 30 DEGREES THAT MORNING. THE DEFROSTER BUTTON DID NOT LIGHT UP. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE LIGHT FLICKERED. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, I HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUNSHOT. WHEN I GOT TO WORK I NOTED THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY 3-PIECE REAR WINDOW WAS IN PLACE BUT SHATTERED. I BELIEVE THE DEFROSTING SYSTEM OR REAR WINDOW TO BE FAULTY. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF THEY'RE GOING TO COVER IT. IN THE MEANTIME, THE WINDOW IS BARELY IN TACT. THE TRUCK HAD 30,700 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. HOWEVER, I LEARNED THREE OF MY COWORKERS HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH TRUCKS DATED 2011, 2012, AND 2014. ONLINE RESEARCH SHOWS WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES. COME ON FORD OWN THIS PROBLEM!
MY 2011 F150 REAR WINDOW PANE BROKE ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR DEFROST AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE A WINDOW BREAKING DIRECTLY OVER THE REAR SEATS. KIDS AND PASSENGERS ARE BEING PUT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BY ENTERING THE BACKSEAT. THIS IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM AS OTHERS HAVE STATED. FORD AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE WINDOW UNLESS IT IS DIAGNOSED, HOWEVER I HAVE CONTACTED 5 DEALERSHIPS WHO SAID THEY ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. I CAN NO LONGER HAVE ANYONE RIDE IN MY TRUCK IN THE BACKSEAT.
ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING FAILURE, WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN THE STEERING FAILED PART WAY THROUGH THE TURN CAUSING THE TRUCK TO GO STRAIGHT, BECAUSE OF THIS I ALMOST HIT 2 PARKED CARS. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I COULD NOT TURN IT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO FORD AS THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF RECALL FOR THESE UNITS FROM 2011 AND NEWER, MY TRUCK FALLS IN TO THE RECALL VOID.
STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, WANDERS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN LOCKS UP. CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE FEELS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHEN PROMPTED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. PALM COAST FORD IN PALM COAST, FLORIDA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
POWER STEERING KEEPS POPPING WHEN TURNING AND LOCKS UP
ON 1 APRIL 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:00 PM THE VEHICLE WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY WHEN A LOUD THUD WAS HEARD AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO DECELERATE. THE OPERATOR APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTICED THE RPMS ON THE TACHOMETER REACH APPROXIMATELY 5K TO 6K WITH NO ACCELERATION, AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL EVEN THOUGH THE CONSOLE SHOWED 6TH GEAR. THE OPERATOR REMOVED PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL AND GRADUALLY REAPPLIED PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL BUT RPMS AGAIN REACHED 5K TO 6K WITH NO ACCELERATION. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 15 SECONDS OF COASTING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE REGAINED NORMAL ACCELERATION. THIS SEEMS TO BE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO RESULT IN A REAR-END COLLISION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 91,000 MILES AND THE WEATHER WAS 36 F WITH MIXED PRECIPITATION AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE OPERATOR NOTES THAT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 89,000 MILES AFTER PREVIOUSLY REPORTED NHTSA COMPLAINT NUMBER 10970618. THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN SERVICED ONCE SUBSEQUENT TO ITS REPLACEMENT FOR A HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WHICH WAS REPORTEDLY RESOLVED BY THE DEALERSHIP WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE HAD STILL BEEN EXPERIENCING THE HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND THE DRIVESHAFT WAS ON THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DRIVESHAFT WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) IN MARCH OF 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,887.

FORD F-150 RECALL - 2011 F-150 TRANSMISSION RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). BEEN BACK TO DEALER TWICE FOR SAME, TODAY THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO A LOWER GEAR, DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 62 MPH. "WRENCH" SYMBOL APPEARED AND TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT EXCEPT FROM 3RD TO 5TH. DASH DISAPPEARED TOO.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE RD RATHER I'M GOING 20 OR 70 MPH THE TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT AND UP SHIFT RAPIDLY AND THE SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHT ON DASH WILL FLICKER OFF AND ON THEN EVENTUALLY GOES INTO A NEUTRAL MODE AND WON'T EXCELLERATE THEN I'LL PULL OVER PUT TRUCK IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF THE TRY AND RESTART IT IT WILL NOT DO ANYTHING LOSES ALL POWER TO IGNITION AS IF IT WAS DEAD NO DASH LIGHTS WILL COME ON. I'LL THEN HAVE TO UNPLUG THE WIRES TO THE ECU PLUG THEM BACK IN THEN UNIT WILL START AND DRIVE BUT ACT UP AGAIN. THE MECHANIC SHOP ALREADY INSTALLED A NEW RANGE SENSOR IN THE VALVE BODY OF THE TRANSMISSION. AT RAPID REPAIR IN KATY TX. AND DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 87,000 MILES IT'S EVEN HAD TRANSFLUID REPLACED AND LEVEL CHECKED IT'S SOMETHING ELECTRICAL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND EXCESSIVE FORCE ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
THE STEERING WHEEL "STICKS" OR "CATCHES" WHEN TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT 45-60 MPH AND TURNING LEFT. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT ONLY WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS TRUCK 2 WEEKS (BOUGHT IT USED WITH 77,000 MILES) BUT IT STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM AFTER 2 DAYS.
BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT POPPING UP ON THE SCREEN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE STEERING CONTROL LIGHT SHOWS UP. TRUCK WON'T STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. THANK GOD I WAS PARKED WHEN IT FAILED. BEING TOLD IT'S THE ELECTRONIC RACK N PINION BOX. I ONLY HAVE 60,000 MILE ON THE TRUCK. I'M 59 YEARS OLD AND I DRIVE TO FROM WORK. PLEASE HELP.
WHILE TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET, MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO A LOWER GEAR (3RD) CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SUDDENLY SLOW IN TRAFFIC. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE GEAR AFTER THAT. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT A GREATER SPEED OR ON A HIGHWAY IT MAY HAVE CAUSED MY TRUCK TO LOCK THE WHEELS AND MY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
IT WAS 15 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I USED MY ELECTRIC START. LET THE TRUCK WARM UP FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. WENT OUT TO TRUCK AND OPENED THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. I INSPECTED THE CAR AND FOUND THAT THE BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT LOTS OF OTHER OWNERS ARE REPORTING THIS FROM A MALFUNCTION IN THE REAR DEFROST. I WAS NOT DRIVING AND THERE WAS NO OTHER THING THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED MY WINDOW TO SHATTER. I LIVE IN THE SUBURBS OF MINNEAPOLIS AND MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I AM JUST THANKFUL THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY THREE BOYS. I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THE REAR WINDOW WITH SLIDER WITH POWER DEFROST AS THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

AUG 2016 - TOWING 7,000 LB. TRAVEL TRAILER - ENGINE STUTTER & POWER LOSS GOING UPHILL, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALER. DIAGNOSIS - CRACKED SPARK PLUG ON CYLINDER 6. SPARK PLUG REPLACED AT MY COST. DEC 2016 - UNDER NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. ACCELERATED FROM 65 TO APPROX 70 MPH TO PASS SEMI - ENGINE STUTTER & POWER LOSS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE, ENGINE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. HAD TO PULL OVER & SLOW TO 50 MPH BEFORE POWER CAME BACK. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSIS - FOULED SPARK PLUG & BAD IGNITION COIL ON CYLINDER 3. COIL REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, SPARK PLUG REPLACED AT MY COST. FEB 2017 - UNDER NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. AGAIN ACCELERATING FROM 65 TO APPROX 70 MPH TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE - ENGINE STUTTER & POWER LOSS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE, ENGINE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. HAD TO PULL OVER & SLOW TO 50 MPH BEFORE POWER CAME BACK. TOOK TO SAME LOCAL DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSIS - CRACKED SPARK PLUG & BAD IGNITION COIL ON CYLINDER 6. COIL REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, SPARK PLUG REPLACED AT MY COST. MARCH 2017 - AGAIN, UNDER NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. AGAIN ACCELERATING FROM 65 TO APPROX. 70 MPH TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE - ENGINE STUTTER & POWER LOSS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE, ENGINE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. HAD TO SLOW TO 45 MPH BEFORE POWER CAME BACK. TOOK TO SAME LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THAT I WAS NOW 200 MILES OUTSIDE OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT BUT IT WOULD COST ME. TOOK TO AUTOZONE FOR CODE READ - ERROR CODE P0305 - CYLINDER 5 MISFIRE. MULTIPLE ARTICLES & ONLINE FORUM REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE. FORD APPEARS TO BE IGNORING THE ISSUE.
MY STEERING WHEEL WILL STICK WHEN TURNING LEFT. IT MAKES IT HARD TO KEEP IT IN ONE LANE.THE PROBLEM WILL COME AND GO. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DID NOT SEE ANY PROBLEM. BUT LIKE I SAID THE PROBLEM WILL COME AND GO. YOU HAVE TO FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POSITION. I CAN MAKE A VIDEO IF THIS WILL HELP.
MASTER CYLINDER BOOSTER. BACKED OUT OF DRIVE AND WENT FORWARD. PUSHED BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET WITH NO WARNING. TOOK TRUCK TO FORD DEALER AND THEY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER BYPASS AND BLEED SYSTEM. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE -150'S BUT WAS INFORMED MINE WASN'T COVERED.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I TOOK MY CAR IN WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A WARRANTY AND THAT WOULD FIX MY PROBLEM. SINCE MY ISSUE AT THE TIME WAS SPURATIC I LEFT THE DEALER THINKING IT WAS FINE. THE LAST TIME I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE DEALER AND I BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY SAID AGAIN THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY FIXED THAT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO TIME FOR THE REPAIR AND TO BRING IT IN AGAIN AT A LATER DATE AND THEY WERE BOOKED FAR OUT IN THE FUTURE. WHEN I BROUGHT IT BACK I AM NOW NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY BY TIME NOT MILES. MY CAR DOWNSHIFTS AND I HEAR A THUNK WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND IT DOWN SHIFTS NO MATTER WHAT SPEED. I SEE THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL THAT HAD MY SYMPTOMS FOR MY YEAR AND MODEL BUT THEY SAID THAT MY CAR IS NOT IN THAT RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO, THE HEATING GAUGE WAS HIGH AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE GAUGE RETURNED TO THE NORMAL RANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A COLD WEATHER FRONT/GRILL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 40MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR. THE WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT WORK AND HAD DASHES DISPLAYED INSTEAD OF NUMBERS. AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF FOR AN HOUR, IT WAS WORKING FINE AFTER RESTARTING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RECORDED OUTPUT SENSOR ERROR.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED FORD F150 2011 RAPTOR. THE STEERING CONTINUES TO BE PROBLEMATIC. THE ISSUE IS THAT TURNING THE WHEEL "STICKS" AND BECOMES ALMOST NON FUNCTIONAL. THE PROBLEM IS SPORADIC BUT STEADY. I PAID OVER $600 AT A LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. CAN I OBTAIN MORE INFO IF I CAN GET THIS RESOLVED BY FORD UNDER A RECALL?

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TRIPLE J FORD (470 MARINE CORPS DRIVE, TAMUNING, GUAM 96913, 671-648-2277) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE DUE TO NO FAILURE DIAGNOSTIC CODES. WHEN TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE RECURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 1,500 RPMS. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A REPLACEMENT OF THE COIL PACKS, SPARK PLUGS, O2 SENSORS, AND AN INJECTOR CLEANING. ON APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 5, 2017, THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE SECOND SET OF REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TURBO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE TURBO BOOST FOR THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM PIPE WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWED THAT THE TACHOMETER WAS FLUCTUATING. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THREE INJECTORS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND WAS HELPING TO GET THE FAILURES RESOLVED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE TO THIS POINT THE FIST RECALL THAT I BELIEVE APPLIES TO THIS VEHICLE IS TSB 13-6-8, AND THE 2ND IS TSB 13-8-1. BOTH OF THESE SYMPTOMS ARE PREVALENT TO MY VEHICLE BUT FORD FAILS TO ACT ON THIS TSB AND FAILS TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS THAT WILL REMEDY THESE ISSUES. ONCE AGAIN THIS VEHICLE IS NOW PART OF A FIELD SERVICE ACTION (15N05) FOR THE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP, AND WILL RETURN THE VEHICLE ON 3/24/2017 TO SEE IF THEY WILL RESPOND IN THIS ACTION, AND ONCE AGAIN BRING THESE TSB'S TO THERE ATTENTION AS PREVIOUSLY DONE TO SEE IF THEY WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLE TO AN ACCEPTABLE OPERATING STANDARD. IF FORD FAILS TO RESPOND TO THE TSB'S AND TO THE FIELD SERVICE ACTIONS, WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS TO SEE THESE REPAIRS TAKE PLACE, AND MY VEHICLE IS IN A SAFE AND PROPER WORKING FUNCTION?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
FORD F150 2011. THE STEERING ON THE TRUCK LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING. OFTEN DESCRIBED ON OTHER FORUMS AS GOING INTO MANUAL MODE VS ASSISTED STEERING. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN WHILE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, GOING AROUND A CURVE WITH MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE ON THIS VEHICLE HOWEVER NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED YET. I WAS DRIVEING MY FORD F-150 & WAS ACCELERATING & THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN 4TH GEAR & IT DROP STRAIGHT DOWN TO 1ST GEAR THROWING ME & MY PASSENGERS FORWARD. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AS QUICK AS I COULD TO SHUT THE MOTOR OFF , THE ENGINES RPMS WAS REALLY HIGH UNTIL I COULD SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN. MY TRUCK WAS JUST REPROGRAM FOR THIS IN SEPTEMBER 2016 .BECAUSE FORD RECALLED THEM FOR THIS VERY REASON.
IT IS LOOSING POWER WHEN ACCELERATION DURING WET OR COLD CONDITIONS. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, OR PASSING, GOING UP HILLS AND ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION.
NGINE WAS RACING WIDE OPEN WITH TACHOMETER PEGGED WAY BEYOND THE HIGHEST NUMBER LISTED. NO WARNING, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO EXIT AND STOP IN A PARK AND RIDE LOT AND CALL MY WIFE. I WAS EXTREMELY SHAKEN AND AFRAID TO CONTINUE DRIVE. SHE AGREED TO PICK ME UP. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP BACK TO MY OFFICE AT 15 MPH BUT WAS SCARED TO DEATH. THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND ONLY AFTER A FIX THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. I BELIEVE DAMAGE MAY HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE REAR-END, TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE NOT TO MENTION MY HIP AND SHOULDER ARE SORE AND PAINFUL FROM THE SEAT BEAT LOCKING. IT HONESTLY FELT LIKE I HAD BEEN REARENDED! I WILL NOT RETURN TO THAT DEALER AS I FEEL THEY WILL COVER THEIR MISTAKE AND NOT BE HONEST ABOUT WHAT DAMAGE WAS DONE TO MY VEHICLE BASED ON THEIR MISTAKE. A COMPLAINT WILL BE FLED WITH FORD MOTOR AND THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADMINISRATATION AS WELL AS THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY. I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE THE TRUCK AND HONESTLY FEEL I CAN NEVER DRIVE IT AGAIN. I WON'T EVEN DRIVE IT TO A SHOP AT THIS POINT. THE RECALL FIX CAUSED THIS ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN AND HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. IF THE COMPUTER LOGS DATA I WELCOME AN INVESTIGATION TO SEE WHAT THE COMPUTER SAYS HAS HAPPENED.

2011 FORD F-150 P/U , CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT LX 20 275/65 R18. TIRE TREAD IS STILL DEEP BUT THERE ARE AREAS ALL AROUND TIRE TREAD THAT ARE STARTING TO PEEL OFF. I KNOW OF RECALL BUT ON DIFFERENT SIZE TIRE, BUT SAME BRAND AND STYLE. SAFETY CONCERN!!

TRUCK AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NOT SURE IF AIR BAG FAILURE OR TRUCK WIRING/COMPUTER COMMUNICATION FAILURE. WOULD BE NICE TO GET MORE INFORMATION ON WHY THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE NOT DEPLOYED.
