THE TREK HAS HAD THE PROBLEM OF THE DRIVETRAIN LOCKING UP IN A TIGHT TURN CAUSING THE TRK TO SLIDE INSTEAD OF TURNING A CORNER. REALLY DANGEROUS IN WINTER DRIVING OR WET CONDITIONS. ALSO THE REAR DRIVETRAIN CHATTERS WHEN STARTING OUT FROM A STOP WHICH CAUSES LOSS OF TRACTION IN WET OR SNOWY ICY CONDITIONS. I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT THIS IS A START. HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN AT LEAST SIX TIMES WITH NO RESULTS AND LUNDGREN MOTORS IN EVELETH,MN TOLD ME FORD WASN'T GOING TO FIX IT AND I WAS WELCOME TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS IN 4X4 DRIVE ON STREETS IN DIRT GRASS SNOW BLACKTOP CEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY CENTER THE STEERING WHEEL TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM MAKING A COMPLETE 180 DEGREE TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. DOHERTY FORD (4223 PACIFIC AVE, FOREST GROVE, OR 97116) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.
TRANSMISSION SLAMS BETWEEN GEARS AND THE DRIVE TRAIN "ACTS" LIKE IT IS STICKING IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WHEN AT SLOW SPEEDS GOING AROUND CORNERS AND STARTING OUT WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND I AM CONCERNED THAT IT WILL BREAK OR EVEN WORSE WHEN OUT OF WARRANTY THEN BREAK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER IT IS WET OR DAMP WEATHER THE VEHICLES SPEED AND ACCELERATION DECREASED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST EIGHT TIMES. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A REASON FOR THE FAILURE, BUT STATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000. *TR
ADVANCETRAC WITH ROLL STABILITY CONTROL (RSC) (TRACTION/STABILITY CONTROL) COMES ON LATE OR NOT AT ALL. WHEN IT DOES COME ON IT IT OVER CORRECTS. (WHEN IT DOES NOT COME ON) IF YOU DO NOT MANUALLY CORRECT FOR THE SKID/SLIDE YOU WILL LOSE CONTROL. IF IT DOES COME ON (5-20SECONDS LATE), IT OVER CORRECTS USUALLY CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER HE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, HE WOULD FEEL A BUMP COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT RETURNED TO THE STRAIGHTENED POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING COMPONENTS WERE DEFECTIVE. ALL OF THE STEERING COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED. LOST POWER,ENGINE DIED UNDER HARD ACCELERATION WHILE TRYING TO PASS A CAR. CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER AT FORD AND THEY CLAIM THEY NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM. *TR
VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY DURING HIGHWAY ON RAMP ACCELERATION. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND PLACED ME AND MY FAMILY IN THE DIRECT PATH OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. *TR
THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER WHEN ACCELERATION WAS REQUIRED. GAS TO FLOOR AND IT FELL TO IDLE WHILE PASSING. LOST ALL POWER AGAIN DURING A MERGE TO FREEWAY, DROP TO IDLE AND ROUGH RUNNING. LOST ALL POWER WHILE TRYING TO STAY AHEAD OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. 3 TIMES IN 60000 KM. NO WARNING DRIVE LINE SHUDDERS WHEN SUBJECTED TO LIGHT LOAD SLIGHT GRADE HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FEELS LIKE ENGINE MISS. DOZENS OF TRIPS TO DEALERS 5 TSBS AND MANY DOCUMENTED LETTERS TO FORD. READY TO GIVE UP. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED ERRATICALLY CAUSING FOR THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE DOWNSHIFTING WAS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN 2011. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURERS RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,500.
DRIVING ON NEW YEARS DAY, I WAS TRAVELING AND NEEDED TO ACCELERATE ONTO AN EXPRESSWAY. AS I PRESSED ON THE THROTTLE PEDAL MY FORD F150 2011 SEEMED TO LOSE POWER FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE REGAINING POWER AGAIN. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I CAN RECALL, BUT IT HAPPENS EACH TIME I PRESS THE THROTTLE ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR ACCELERATION. I HAVE LEARNED THAT MY F150 IS NOT RELIABLE ENOUGH TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OUT UNLESS TRAFFIC IS COMPLETELY CLEARED, OR I HAVE SEVERAL CAR LENGTHS OF DISTANCE. *TR
MISFIRE - SHIFTING ISSUES IN TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE AT LOW SPEEDS EVEN THOUGH PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND INSTALLED A HEAT SHIELD. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A BUILD UP OF MOISTURE IN THE INTERCOOLER. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
STEERING WHEEL SHAKES REAL BAD ON STOPPING THE HARDER THE STOP THE WORSE IT SHAKES THIS TRUCK HAS 16000 MILES ON IT NOW AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE STARTED AFTER THE 1ST SERVICE AND TIRE ROTATION (ABOUT 8500 MILES) ALTHOUGH IT DID NOT START IMMEDIATELY AFTER BUT RATHER SEEMED TO GET WORSE OVER TIME FROM THAT POINT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS WARPED BRAKE ROTORS POSSIBLY FROM CHEAP OR DEFECTIVE OEM PARTS THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD OR ABUSED JUST DAILY DRIVE TO FROM WORK 19 MILES EACH WAY. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN I TRY TO PASS THE ENGINE DURING FULL ACCELERATION STUMBLES AND LOOSES ACCELERATION. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND DOES NOT GIVE AN ERROR CODE IN THE COMPUTER. VERY DANGEROUS ON TWO LANE ROAD PASSING. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE RIGHT LANE, DOING ABOUT 60 MPH. FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, THE TRUCK SIMPLY SHUT OFF AND LOST ALL POWER. I COASTED TO THE SHOULDER AND WAITED A MINUTE OR SO TO CALM DOWN AND DECIDE WHAT TO DO. I THEN TRIED TO RESTART THE TRUCK, AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I NERVOUSLY DROVE THE REST OF THE 25 MILES OR SO TO MY HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE TRUCK ALSO SEEMED TO RUN FINE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS UNTIL I COULD GET IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD (ONLY 2+ YEARS OLD) AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. IT SEEMS ODD TO ME THAT THE BATTERY WAS THE PROBLEM, SINCE THE TRUCK RESTARTED EASILY AND RAN WELL FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HOWEVER, THE NEW BATTERY DOES SEEM TO HAVE CURED THE PROBLEM AS IT HASN'T REPEATED THE TRAVELING SHUT DOWN. I AM CAUTIOUS AND NERVOUS NOW ABOUT DRIVING OVER IT FOR FEAR IT MIGHT SHUT OFF AGAIN. IT IS ACTUALLY SIMILAR TO WHAT THE GM COBALT OWNERS EXPERIENCED, ALTHOUGH THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE IGNITION RELATED.I HAVE WRITTEN TO FORD TO SEE IF THEY WOULD CONFIRM WHAT THE DEALER TOLD ME - THAT A WEAK BATTERY COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE TO QUIT WHILE RUNNING. I AM HOPING THAT BY DOCUMENTING THIS INCIDENT, I WILL FIND OUT IF OTHER OWNERS OF NEWER F150S HAVE HAD SIMILAR FULL SPEED SHUT DOWNS. I'M TRYING TO DECIDE WHETHER TO KEEP THE TRUCK OR SELL IT BECAUSE I STILL DON'T TRUST IT. *TR
TRUCK HAS INTERMITTENT OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO ABRUPLTY DOWNSHIFT AND LOCK REAR END UP. FORD IS AWARE ACVORDING TO FORD TSB 13-6-8. MOLDED LEAD FRAME NEEDS REPLACED. I GAVE OBD CODES P0720 AND P0722 INDICATING THIS FOR WANTS 2000.00 DOLLARS TO FIX A KNOWN REPAIR. CALLED FMC IN DEARBORN...PRETTY MUCH TOLD ME ITS MY PROBLEM.
Any time I’ll driving my truck down hill the transmission drops into 1st gear while traveling 65 miles per hour almost causing an accident every time this happens
