UNEXPECTED SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEED CAUSING INCONSISTENT DRIVING. COULD CAUSE DANGEROUS SLIP/SKID. CONGRUENT WITH RECALL INVOLVING SAME MODEL YEAR VEHICLE HOWEVER NOT LISTED FOR SPECIFIC VIN.
VACUUM PUMP RUNS EXCESSIVELY AND IS NOISY. THIS IS ALREADY A KNOWN CONDITION TO FOMOCO. THEY ADVISE MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER COVERED U DER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION EXTENDED SERVICE BULLETIN. VEHICLE TRANSMISSION DROPS INTO 1ST GEAR RANDOMLY DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. LOCKS UP REAR AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT HAZARD.
THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHILE DRIVING IN WHICH THE TRUCK SEEMS TO LOSE POWER AND SHIFTS TO A LOWER GEAR. THE SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER DO NOT DISPLAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ON SOME OCCASIONS THE WRENCH HAS SHOWN. ONE ONE OCCASION WHILE ACCELERATING TO ENTER A HIGHWAY THE GEAR SHIFTED DOWN AND THE TIRES SQUEALED AND THE TRUCK DRAMATICALLY SLOWED DOWN. SOME OCCASIONS WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED THE SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS IS EXTREMELY ROUGH. THESE OCCASIONS HAVE HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION, ON CITY STREETS, ON HIGHWAYS, AND ENTERING OR EXITING HIGHWAYS.
REAR WINDOW, ON PASSENGER SIDE, SHATTERED AFTER TURNING THE DEFROST ON. TEMP WAS APPROXIMATELY 15 DEGREES. THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DEFROST WAS FLICKERING, AS THE WINDOW SHATTERED, THEN TURNED OFF. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT FLAT ROAD 30 MILES PER HOUR.
I WILL BE GOING 70 MPH AND THE TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT HARD TO 3RD GEAR THE SPEED ODOMETER WILL SHOW ZERO MPH AND ODOMETER WILL SHOW DASHES. WHEN I STOP THE VEHICLE IT WILL EITHER STAY IN 3RD GEAR OR WILL SHIFT UP HARD TO 5TH GEAR. IF I CYCLE THE IGNITION KEY A FEW TIMES IT WILL CLEAR FOR A FEW SECONDS AND WILL AGAIN SLAM INTO A LOWER GEAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT IS LIKE SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES CREATING A HUGE HAZARD. THERE ARE SOME VEHICLES BUILT IN 2012 THAT HAVE A RECALL FROM FORD WITH SAME ISSUE BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THIS,. I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THIS MATTER SINCE IT IS A GREAT SAFETY CONCERN. IT WILL BE IN THE SHOP MARCH 10TH, THERE IS A LONG WAIT TIME FOR THE FORD SHOP WHERE I LIVE.
RECALL 16S19 DOES NOT COVER MY SPECIFIC TRUCK, BUT I HAVE TWICE REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP THAT TRUCK IS DOWNSHIFTING HARD ON ITS OWN, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT IS PHYSICALLY FELT AND A JERKING OF THE VEHICLE OCCURS. OCCURS ARE RANDOM TIMES WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS HAS NOT OCCURRED AT HIGH SPEED. DEALER SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME TO "UNHOOK BATTERY CABLE AND IT WOULD RESET COMPUTER."
ELECTRONIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING FAILURE-EPAS IS CUTTING OUT MOST OF THE TIME CAUSING OVER STEER AND UNDER STEER CONDITIONS DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FORCE NEEDED TO CORRECT ON LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS. STEERING WILL GET DIFFICULT TO CONTROL ON TURNS JUST LIKE THE NON POWER STEERING VEHICLES OF OLD. THIS OCCURS AT STARTUP AND WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION AND ENDS WITH PARK AND VEHICLE SHUT OFF. CAN SUPPLY VIDEO FOOTAGE IF REQUESTED.
MY FORD F-150, AT DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING, DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR CAUSING THE WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I WAS DRIVING OUT TO GET MY DAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL, WHEN I WAS GOING UP A SMALL HILL AND MY F-150 FELT LIKE IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL ALL BY ITSELF. I WAS ON THE GAS BUT IT WAS NOT ACCELERATING. SINCE THAT TIME, IT HAS DONE IT EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. AT TIMES, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACOMETER GO TO ZERO AND THE SCREEN IN MY DASH GETS A WRENCH ON IT. I WAS TOLD BY MY FORD DEALER THAT THE RECALL ON THE 2012 FORD F-150S DOES NOT INCLUDE MY FORD. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS MADE 5 MONTHS PRIOR TO THOSE FORDS AFFECTED. YET, IT HAS THE SAME TRANSMISSION (6R80) AND SAME COMPUTER CODES AND EXACT SAME PROBLEM. WHY CAN'T I GET MY FORD FIXED WHEN THOSE THAT BOUGHT THEIRS A FEW MONTHS LATER CAN. IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THOSE RECALLED. THIS IS MY FIRST FORD AND NOT HAPPY WITH FORD PRODUCTS AT ALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST ELECTRICAL POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. KOONS FORD (6970 SECURITY BLVD, BALTIMORE, MD 21244, (410) 298-3800) WAS CONTACTED FOR A SECOND OPINION ON THE ORIGINAL DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THE TIMING CHAIN IN THE ENGINE GETS PREMATURELY STRETCHED AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT SO TIMING CHAIN FAILURE DOES NOT OCCUR. I HAD THE CHAIN REPLACED IN JAN 2017 COMPLETELY AND THE ISSUE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLETELY RESOLVED. 1 YEAR LATER THE SAME ISSUE IS BACK AND THE CHAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. IT IS A LOUD RATTLING NOISE THAT OCCURS ON START UP AND CAN CAUSE COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS CAN BE FOUND ABOUT THIS WELL KNOWN ISSUE. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. THE EARLY MODEL 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINES ARE CAUSING THE STRETCHING OF THE TIMING CHAIN AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE PLACED ON THEM TO ENSURE CUSTOMER SAFETY
WHILE DRIVING MY PICK UP ON A COLD DAY WITH THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON, ONE PANEL OF THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. DURING SUBSEQUENT DRIVING THE REAR WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE FRAME INTO THE BED OF THE PICK UP. I BELIEVE THE DEFROSTER MALFUNCTIONED AND OVERHEATED CAUSING THE PANEL TO SHATTER BECAUSE OF THE EXCESSIVE HEAT BEING GENERATED BY THE DEFROSTER VERSUS THE COLD AIR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE.
I HAVE A 2012 FORD F150. ON 3 OCCASIONS WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60-70 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY MY SPEEDOMETER WOULD FLUCTUATE UP AND DOWN AND MY MOTOR WOULD REV UP AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS DOWNSHIFTING ON IT'S OWN. MY VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY JERK AND MY REAR WHEELS WOULD LOCK UP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER. THEY INDICATED THAT MY #6 IGNITION COIL NEEDED REPLACED AS WELL AS ALL OF MY SPARK PLUGS. I HAD THEM DO THE WORK AND MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM CREATING A DANGER FOR MYSELF AND/OR OTHERS.
I FILED A COMPLAINT # 11078458 ABOUT THE BRAKE VACUAM BOOSTER PUMP, THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND NEGLECTED THE FACT THAT I WAS INVOLVED IN A LOW SPEED ACCIDENT ON 1/17/18, AND DID NOT CONNECT THEM UNTIL READING ON LINE. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM 3/10/18 THE ACCIDENT WAS AT AN INTERSECTION, TRYING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC FROM STOP WHEN CAR IN FRONT DEAD STOPPED AT GREEN LIGHT. SPEED AT TIME OF IMPACT 4 MPH?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE GLASS SHATTERED. THE CONTACT CALLED HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
STARTED TRUCK UP TURNED ON REAR DEFROSTER AND HEATED MIRRORS. WENT ABOUT 100 FEET IN DRIVEWAY AND REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED/SHATTERED ON MY 8 YEAR OLD SON'S BACK. THIS IS A 3 PIECE REAR SLIDING POWER WINDOW. TEMPATURE AROUND 10 DEGREES F.
TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH WAS COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES STAYING ON FOR DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TESTED AND "FOUND THAT FAULT CODE PRESENT B0091 93 LEFT SIDE RESTRAINT". THE WIRING WAS TESTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED THE "SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR" REPLACED. I WAS ADVISED THAT IF I DID NOT HAVE THIS SENSOR REPLACED THAT THEY COULD NOT SAY THAT THE REST OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAG SYSTEM WOULD WORK IF I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. AT THE TIME OF THIS REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS JUST 5 YEARS OLD AND HAD 41,068 MILES ON IT. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT A VEHICLE THAT IS JUST 5 YEARS OLD, ONLY HAS 41K MILES, NO COLLISIONS OR ANY DAMAGE SHOULD BE NEEDING SAFETY RELATED AIRBAG SENSORS REPLACED. TOTAL COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $515.21.
COLD STARTS CREATE RATTLE IN ENGINE AREA. FORD TSB 16-0027 COVERS THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER, DICK WITHAM FORD IN WATERLOO, IOWA CONTINUES TO PLAY GAMES WITH COVERING THIS ISSUE. TRUCK HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR OTHER ISSUES, SOME COVERED, AND I ASKED IF THERE WERE BULLETINS ABOUT LAG IN ACCELERATION OR OTHER THINGS THAT MAY CAUSE THIS. THEY TOLD ME MULTIPLE TIMES, NO, JUST A COMPUTER REPROGRAM THAT I ALREADY HAD COMPLETED. NOW MY TRUCK IS MAKING NOISE AND BY ALL REPORTS ON THE WEB, IT'S GOING TO GET WORSE. FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS GOING BACK TO AUGUST 19, 2015 (SEE TSB 15-0131) YET NEVER TOLD ME OR LOOKED AT MY TRUCK TO SEE IF THAT WAS CAUSING MY ISSUE. NOW WITH MY TRUCK JUST OVER 5 YEAR OLD BUT STILL WELL UNDER THE WARRANTY FOR MILES, IT MAY NOT BE COVERED. HOWEVER, THE NEW TSB CLEARLY STATES DEALER CODING 6C525 AND CONDITION CODE 42, IT IS UNDER WARRANTY VIA THE EMISSIONS. THIS IS MY 5TH NEW FORD TRUCK OVER THE YEARS, I WILL NOT OWN ANOTHER. WITH THE PRICE WE PAY FOR BRAND NEW CARS AND TRUCKS THE MANUFACTURER MUST BE HELD TO WHAT THEY PROMISE THE CONSUMER. THIS IS A TIMING CHAIN STRETCH ISSUE CAUSED BY POOR DESIGN AND THE VARIABLE CAMSHAFT TIMING (VCT) UNITS LEAKING CAUSING TIMING CHAIN DAMAGE. FORD'S FAULT, NOT MINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW PANEL EXPLODED INTO PIECES. A DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-13920244. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY HAVE THE SHUTTERING AND POWER LOSS EFFECT TILL IT WENT 5000 PASSED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEN ENGINE IMPLODED. SO THEY JUST BLOW IT OFF AS A COMMON ISSUE BUT NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY 10000 FOR A NEW ENGINE FOR A PROBLEM THEY ALWAYS KNEW ABOUT.
I WAS LEAVING A STOP SIGN IN THE COUNTY ROAD I LIVE ON MAKING A RIGHT HAD TURN. SUDDENLY I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THE TRUCK LOCKED UP AND SLID ACROSS BOTH LANES OF THE COUNTY ROAD BECAUSE THE OF THE WEATHER CONDITIONS OF THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS COMING THE OTHER WAY AT THE TIME. SO THERE WAS NO DAMAGE. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR UNEXPECTEDLY. THE FIRST TIME I GOING STRAIGHT COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN AND THE TRUCK JUST SOPPED. AGAIN NO DAMAGE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.
I PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT, BUT HAPPENED TO NOTICE THAT I HAD A TYPO ON MY VIN. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE EXPERIENCES WITH THE ISSUE OUTLINED IN FORD RECALL 16S19. NHTSA CASE 16V248. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT GEARS UNEXPECTEDLY AT LOW SPEED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. MORE RECENTLY, I HAVE HAD IT DOWN SHIFT AT HIGHER SPEEDS(APPROX 50-70MPH). WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS ON, IT CANCELS IT OUT AUTOMATICALLY. I HAVE HAD ON TIME WHEN THE MIL WRENCH APPEARED BRIEFLY AND ALL NUMBERS ON THE CENTER SCREEN WENT TO DASHES UNTIL A RESTART OF THE ENGINE. I HAVE SPOKE TO DEALERS AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND LOOKED ON THE NHTSA SITE AND ALL HAVE TOLD ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE RECALL STATES THE AFFECTED DATES ARE FEBRUARY 11,2011 TO SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 AT THE DEARBORN PLANT. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT ON AUGUST 2, 2012 AT DEARBORN. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE AN ANSWER FROM ANYONE AS TO WHY MY TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED WHEN IT MEETS THE DEADLINE BY OVER A MONTH.
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH TRUCK SHIFTED INTO LOW GEAR, SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER WENT TO ZERO, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER FINDING A SAFE AREA TO STOP THE VEHICLE, I TURNED IT OFF, RESTARTED IT, AND ISSUE APPEARED TO BE RESOLVED. APPEARS TO MATCH SCENARIO DESCRIBED IN RECALL 16V-248 (FORD # 16S19). FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS VIN IS AFFECTED BY THE SUBJECT RECALL.
MY TRUCCK BEGAN TO DOWNSHIFT ON ITS ON AND JERK REAL BAD. I COULD WATCH MY SPEEDOMETER DROWN INSTANTLY AS IT DOWNSHIFTED. IT DOWNSHIFTED AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND A LOUD CLUNK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ADVANCE TRACK SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE TURN SIGNALS AND STEERING CONTROL BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO A SHOULDER LANE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (JC LEWIS FORD, 9505 ABERCORN STREET, SAVANNAH, GA 31406) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
UNEXPECTED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR FROM 6TH GEAR. ON MOST RECENT OCCASION MY F150 DOWNSHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR WHILE I WAS GOING AT 60 MPH. CAUSED REAR WHEELS TO SKID/SLIDE. THIS HAPPENED TODAY JAN 03 2018. LOCATION PALO PINTO COUNTY TEXAS US HIGHWAY 180. THIS IS THE 4TH OR 5TH TIME IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS THIS HAS HAPPENED. I KNOW FORD HAS HAD A PRIOR RECALL ABOUT THIS. MY TRUCK WAS NOT LISTED ON PRIOR RECALL. 16V248000.
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER QUITE WORKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE SPEEDOMETER INDEPENDENTLY CEASED TO FUNCTION. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG AND MAINTENANCE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ART HILL FORD LINCOLN (901 W LINCOLN HWY, MERRILLVILLE, IN) ON FOUR OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO PAUL HEURING FORD (720 N HOBART RD, HOBART, IN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN) AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NUMBER: 16N02. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT NHTSA WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDING THE VIN TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
WE PURCHASED OUR F-150 ON OR ABOUT 1/2/2018 WITH NO KNOWN PROBLEMS, THE NEXT DAY IT DIDN'T WANT TO START AND SEVERAL ENGINE CODES SHOWED UP. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CLEARED, RESET PROGRAM AND WE SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY MORE ISSUES, BUT SAID THEIR IS A RECALL ON ENGINE COOLANT AND THEY ORDERED PART. THE NEXT DAY THE CODES APPEARED AND WE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE TRUCK TO LEARN OUR DRIVING HABITS AND THE CODES WOULD DISAPPEAR. WE LEFT AND THE NEXT DAY THE TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO START AGAIN AND WE ARE CURRENTLY DRIVING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUES. 1/9/2018
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150 THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DARKENED DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MOVED ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER, SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND OPENED THE DOOR TO RESET THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON RICH FORD COMPANY INC (221 E MONTGOMERY ST, VILLA RICA, GA 30180, (770) 459-5132) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS FINE AND THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I OWN A 2012 F150 ECOBOOST. MY PROBLEM IS WHEN I ACCELERATE DURING RAINY/HUMID WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLS AND SHUTTERS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE AND THE SERVICE CENTER CANNOT DAIGNOSE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE ANY CODE. MY F150 STARTED TO DROP IN TO 1ST GEAR UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN DRIVING AT AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 50MPH. AT FIRST THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AND MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND A SOURCE NOW I AM GETTING ENGINE CODES P0720 AND P0722. WHEN I TRIED TO INVESTIGATE I FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED ON SOME 2012 FORD F150 BUT NOT MINE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS CAUSE UNEXPECTEDLY DOWN SHIFTS ON NATIONAL INTERSTATES. I URGE YOU TO PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS THOROUGHLY.
VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 5TH GEAR AND STAY THERE. VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT FROM 5TH TO 1ST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. LOSS OF POWER AS VEHICLE WENT NOT 'LIMP MODE'. SAW MULTIPLE RECALLS ON OTHER TRUCKS FOR THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME BUT WHEN I CALLED FORD THEY CONCLUDED MY TRUCK WAS NOT IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE SAME PART AND PROBLEM. PULLING OUT IN 5TH GEAR COULD HAVE GOTTEN ME OR OTHERS KILLED!
TURNED ON THE TRUCK TO WARM UP AND TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER ON THE BACK WINDOW BECAUSE IT WAS COLD OUT. ABOUT 5MIN DOWN THE ROAD WE HEARD THIS VERY LOUD POP AND THE WINDOW COMPLETELY SHATTERED. LUCKILY IT STAYED INTACT OR THE GLASS WOULD HAVE GONE ALL OVER MY TWO YEAR OLD SON. NOW I AM BEING TOLD IT COSTS OVER $1000.00 TO FIX!

I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE MY TRUCK TRANSMISSION RANDOMLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY EITHER DROPS OUT OF GEAR OR DOWNSHIFTS WHILE MOVING. THE SPEEDOMETER ALSO DROPS TO ZERO WHILE I AM STILL MOVING. AT LEAST ONCE THIS HAS HAPPENED AFTER I PULLED ONTO A STREET WITH PLENTY OF TIME, BUT BECAUSE I LOST POWER, IT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ALL INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN ON CITY STREETS SO FAR AT LOW SPEEDS. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT FORD HAS A RECALL OUT FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE (16S19) WITH BUILD DATE PARAMETERS OF FEBRUARY 11, 2011 TO SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 AT THE DEARBORN PLANT. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT IN AUGUST OF 2012, WITHIN THE PARAMETERS, AT THE DEARBORN PLANT, HOWEVER, I AM BEING TOLD I AM NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, EVEN THOUGH I AM HAVING THE EXACT ISSUE IT SHOULD BE FIXING. HOW MY TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED IS BEYOND ME. I HAVE ATTACHED A SCREENSHOT OF THE DOCUMENT I FOUND ONLINE FOR THE RECALL.

AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON FOR NO REASON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THE LIGHT OFF. WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR ANYWHERE. I HAD JUST STARTED THE CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE LIGHT DID NOT TURN OFF.
MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ISSUES OUTLINED IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16N02. MY VEHICLE SHIFTED DOWN TO FIRST GEAR WHILE TRAVELING ~45MPH ON AN OFF RAMP FROM THE INTERSTATE CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOCK UP AND SEND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SLIDING AND THEN WOULD NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY. MY VIN DID NOT INDICATE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER RECALL 16S19 & CSP 16N02. EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS DETAILED IN THE RECALL, I WAS TOLD BY FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT MY VIN WAS NOT PROPERLY IDENTIFIED AS ONE OF THE AFFECTED VIN'S IN THIS RECALL. HAD MY VEHICLE BEEN PROPERLY IDENTIFIED, MY SAFETY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN JEOPARDY.
AS THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AROUND 45 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER DROPPED TO 0. ONCE THEY CAME BACK ONLINE, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOCK UP AND THE BACK END OF MY TRUCK BEGAN TO SKID. AFTER COMING TO COMPLETE STOP, I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WOULD THEN RANDOMLY SHIFT AND I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT ANY FARTHER. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE MOLDED LEADFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE PCM WAS TO BE RESET.
MY 2012 F150 REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SECTION SUDDENLY SHATTERED AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR DEFROST FUNCTION. REAR DEFROST WENT ON THEN I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING G. THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE GLASS SECTION THEN SHATTERED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO TRAUMA THAT CAUSED THIS. THE REAR DEFROST WILL NO LONGER OPERATE SINCE. I CONTACTED FORD SERVICE AND THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND CLOSE TO 150 SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. WHEN THE GLASS SHATTERED THE TEMPERATURE WAS NEAR 30 DEGREES AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION.
FORD ISSUED RECALL 15N05 FOR THE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP. THIS WAS TO BE A ONETIME FIX WHICH I HAD REPAIRED WHEN IT FAILED. THE NEW ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP FAILED AGAIN 20,000 MILES AND 13 MONTHS LATER WITH THE SAME ISSUE. FORD WILL NOT REPAIR. THE PARTS ARE OBVIUOSLY FAULTY AS MY DEALER TOLD ME SEVERAL F150 TRUCKS THEY REPAIRED UNTER THIS RECALL ARE BREAKING AGAIN.

WATER PUMP FAILURE AT MERE 76,000 MILES. VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED PER FACTORY MANUAL. LOCATION, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NON-DESERT. LARGE PUDDLE OF COOLANT AFTER 20 MILE DRIVE ONE DAY. NO OTHER WARNING SIGNS. DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSIS SAYS HOSE LEAKS AND FAILED WATER PUMP.
THE SPEEDOMETER SCREEN GOES BLACK AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL DROP UNEXPECTEDLY INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE IN MOTION, USUALLY ON A HIGHWAY.
MY TRUCK DOES TWO THINGS, BOTH WITH THE TRANSMISSION. 1RST THIS IS RANDOM AND HAPPENS AT ANY UNSUSPECTING TIME AND AT ALL SPEEDS. THE TRUCK GOES INTO LIMP MODE (KILLING ALL POWER) STARTS TO CLUNK IN AND OUT OF GEARS TO THE POINT IT LOCKED UP THE TIRES ONCE GOING 55 MPH FOR A SECOND AS THIS IS HAPPENING MY MPH NEEDLE GOES TO 0, ALSO THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS RANDOM AS WELL. THE TRUCK DISPLAYS THE AIRBAG LIGHT WHILE DRIVING ALONG, THE TRANSMISSION WILL GET STUCK IN THIRD AND WON'T SHIFT, SOME TIMES IT GETS STUCK IN FIRST AND NEVER MAKE IT UP TO 6TH GEAR IT WILL EVENTUALLY SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS AS THIS IS HAPPENING THE MILES, AVG FUEL DISPLAY GOES TO ALL BLANKS. BOTH VERY UNSAFE AND VERY SCARY, AS I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. I WILL NOT PUT MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE UNTIL I FEEL IT'S SAVE TO DO SO.
