DRIVING AT 70MPH, ENGINE BECAME WEAK, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TRANSMISSION WENT TO 5TH GEAR, SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 THOUGH TACHOMETER WAS STILL SHOWING AROUND 2,000 RPM. AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. TRUCK WOULDN'T SHIFT UP OR DOWN. CAME TO A STOP, TRANSMISSION WENT TO 3RD. HAD TO SHUT OFF TRUCK AND RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 1 MONTH. I JUST PURCHASED THIS TRUCK THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS OCCURRENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS WIFE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V433000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT'S WIFE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GRIFFIN FORD-LINCOLN, INC (511 7TH ST W, TIFTON, GA 31794) TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED, THE REAR TIRES WOULD LOCK UP WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DOWN SHIFTING. THE CONTACT WOULD PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL DRIVING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SWITCH INTO A HIGHER GEAR WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT'S WIFE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.*DT*JB
WHILE DRIVING FROM OHIO BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA, MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELLING AT 75 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING MY TRUCK ABRUPTLY STALLED TO 5 MPH WITH NO POWER FROM THE ACCELERATOR. I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK OUT OF THE HIGH SPEED LANE ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND ON TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. A FEW MINUTES LATER, I TURNED THE TRUCK BACK ON AND ALL FUNCTION RESUMED. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR WORK THERE WAS NO ISSUE REPORTED OR READ AND THE ERROR COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. SERVICE INFORMED ME I HAD A BAD THROTTLE BODY. THIS TRUCK WAS PART OF A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" RUN IN 2013 FOR A BAD THROTTLE BODY AND TOTAL LOSS OF ACCELERATION. MY TRUCK RECEIVED THE REPAIR IN 2014 VOIDING THE THROTTLE BODY 10 YEAR OR 150,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE SAFETY CONCERN REMAINS AND IS ENDANGERING MY LIFE, MY WIFE, AND OUR FUTURE CHILD. THE PART MIGHT BE REPLACED WITHOUT FIXING THE PROBLEM. AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE MAY KEEP THIS VEHICLE HAVING REOCCURRENCES. THIS HAS ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A SERVICE THAT DOES NOT INCREASE VEHICLE SAFETY. AND BECAUSE OF THAT CONCERN I BEGAN TO INQUIRE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. IT TURNS OUT THAT IN 2015 A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS FILED AGAINST FORD AND SETTLED ON INDIVIDUAL BASISES (JANIS BENKLE ET AL V FORD MOTOR COMPANY). CURRENTLY, THERE ARE NO PROGRAMS TO ASSIST OWNERS LIKE MYSELF IN THIS SITUATION. THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM IS NO LONGER VALID AND THE REPAIR PERFORMED WAS ONLY GOOD FOR ONE TIME (THAT REPAIR APPARENTLY WOULD NOT SOLVE THE SAFETY CONCERN AS OTHERS HAVE STATED THAT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AFTER A NEW THROTTLE BODY WAS PUT IN). I HAVE SOUGHT OUT AN AUDIENCE WITH THE "ZONE MANAGER". HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE AS CUSTOMER CARE WILL NOT GIVE THAT INFORMATION AND NEITHER WILL THE DEALERSHIP.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY AT 65MPH, A YELLOW WRENCH APPEARED IN MY DASH INFORMATION PANEL AND THE VEHICLE ENTERED "LIMP MODE". THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY TRANSITION ONTO THE SHOULDER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART, HOWEVER, IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES ON THE WAY TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. THE OBD DIAGNOSTIC CODE WAS P2112
RANDOMLY THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND LOSES POWER STEERING - USUALLY ON A TURN LEFT AND RIGHT - ISSUE LASTS 2 TO 5 SECONDS AND THEN RETURNS TO POWER STEERING. A HILL DECENT FAILURE WARNING LIGHT APPEARS AND THEN A SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING LIGHT. ALSO FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED AUTOMATICALLY. VERY DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,952.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK SHIFTED FROM 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR... THE WHEELS SEEMED TO HAVE LOCKED UP AS WE DID LEAVE A SKID MARK ON THE HIGHWAY. NEARLY SENT US THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD... THANK GOODNESS FOR SEAT BELTS. WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE CONSOLE. PULLED OVER... TURNED OFF VECHICLE, TURNED BACK ON AND SHOWED IN 1ST GEAR.. STARTED DRIVING AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND WRENCH REAPPEARED... POWERED OFF AGAIN AND BACK ON WRENCH DISAPPEARED... SEEMED TO DRIVE NORMAL AFTER A COUPLE MILES WRENCH APPEARED AGAIN AND WE HAD NO GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD OPERATIONAL EXCEPT RPM. DEALERSHIP PERFORMED RECALL 19S07 FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE... ON TEST DRIVE IT WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED SO THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO DO 19N01 BUT THAT THIS WAS ONLY ALLOWED AS A WARRANTY REPAIR UP TO 150000 MILES. I HAD 151866 WHEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SO I NOW HAVE AN UNSAFE TRUCK WITH A KNOWN RECALL ISSUE THAT FORD WILL NOT REPAIR BECAUSE I HAD 1866 MILES MORE THAN THEIR WARRANTY. THEY WANT 800 FOR ME TO FIX IT MYSELF WHICH I MUST DO AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL FIX THE ISSUE. FORD SHOULD BE OBLIGATED TO FIX ISSUES TIED TO KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. WHO KNOWS NEXT TIME IT DOES IT SOMEONE COULD REAR END ME AND BE SERIOUSLY INJURED.
DRIVER NOTED UNUSUAL LACK OF POSITIVE CONTROL SENSATION DURING NORMAL MANEUVERING WHILE DRIVING. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LOCAL SERVICE CENTER. SUSPENSION, W08HEEL AND TIRE MATERIAL CONDITION APPEARED SATISFACTORY. LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN. 24 LUG NUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. TIRES WERE ROTATED. VEHICLE MANEUVERING APPEARS NORMAL AFTER REPAIR. THE BRAKES WENT OUT ON MY 2013 F-150, THE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKED BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. 'I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR I WAS LUCKY THERE WASN'T A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE HIT IT. 'I PULLED INTO GAS STATION AND GOT DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID AND FILLED UP THE RESERVOIR, THE INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWED 98% FULL. 'I DROVE COUPLE BLOCKS HOME AND WENT TO STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN (I WAS LUCKY I DID NOT GO THRU THE GARAGE).
AIRBAG LIGHT ON HAD TO REPLACE 2 WIRING HARNESSES AND SENSORS.THIS VEHICLE HAS 50600 MILES AND I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE NEW. FORD SAYS FIVE YEARS OR 60000 MILES WARRANTY. I HAD IT REPAIRED BY MY MECHANIC AT COST OVER 500.00 DOLLARS. I BELIEVE SAFETY ISSUES SHOULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY FOR DEFECTIVE PARTS.THANK YOU!
TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HAD A WRECK BEFORE I COULD GET OFF FREEWAY.
ONE DAY I WENT OUT TO MY VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A WARNING LIGHT ON SAID POWER STEER ASSIST FAULT, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED UP. I TOOK THE KEY OUT AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS PULLING INTO MY APARTMENTS AND THE LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME BACK ON, BUT THIS TIME IT SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD 2000 TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND I ALMOST RAN INTO SOMEONE WHEN IT JUST DECIDED TO LOCK UP ON ME. THANK GOD I DIDN'T HAVE MY CHILD WITH ME. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON 2014 WITH THE SAME THING, BUT YET I SEE A LOT OF THE SAME ISSUES ONLINE WITH THIS VEHICLE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,044.
AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF SINCE I CHANGED THE SEATS OUT ALSO BACK UP CAMERA IS A BLUE SCREEN
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after the vehicle was serviced under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) the vehicle began to experience unexpected downshifting and reduced speeds and the check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission output sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced but the part was not available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 49,000.
THE V6 ECOBOOST ENGINE IS TRASH. HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED WITH ANOTHER CRAPPY V6 ECOBOOST ENGINE THAT IS NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE THROUGH A ROD ON THE HIGHWAY. THE SECOND ONE IS GETTING COOLANT IN THE OIL
2013 FORD F-150 RECALLED BY FORD IN 2016 UNDER RECALL 16V345000. VEHICLE HAD THE DEFECTIVE HITACHI MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED IN MAY OF 2017 BY JENKINS FORD IN FORT MEADE FLORIDA AT NO CHARGE. ON JULY 30TH 2020 WHILE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL, TRAVELLED TO THE FLOOR WITH MINIMAL BRAKING AND BRAKE FLUID LOW LEVEL LIGHT CAME ON WITH WARNING CHIME. REMAINED IN CONTROL TO STOP VEHICLE WITH NO ACCIDENT. VEHICLE TOWED TO BARTOW FORD, DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY MASTER CYLINDER SEAL ALLOWING COMPLETE BYPASS OF BRAKE FLUID INTO THE VACUUM BOOSTER. FORD REFUSED TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR $1282 CLAIMING THEY HAD FIXED THIS PROBLEM IN 2017. UPON INVESTIGATION CONFIRMED THAT THE DEFECTIVE HITACHI MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER IDENTICAL DEFECTIVE HITACHI MASTER CYLINDER. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO TRY TO CORRECT A DEFECT WITH THE IDENTICAL DEFECTIVE PART WHEN THE BRAKING OF A 6000 POUND VEHICLE IS AT STAKE! I JUST SAW ANOTHER RECALL JUST OUT FOR 2015 THRU 2018 F150 WITH THE SAME POORLY DESIGNED SINGLE SEAL MASTER CYLINDER. HOW MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE THERE BEEN FOR THE REPLACEMENT MASTER CYLINDER ALSO FAILING?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST, MADE AN ABNORMALLY LOUD SOUND AND WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT AND SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO COGGIN DELAND FORD LOCATED AT (2655 N VOLUSIA AVE, ORANGE CITY, FL 32763) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN RESET THE COMPUTER AND PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE STEERING GEAR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, HAD TO PULL OVER AND GET THE TRUCK TOWED. CONTACTED LOCAL FORD DEALER, THEY ADVISED REPLACING THE ELECTRIC RACK AND PINION FOR ABOUT $1900. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN, HOWEVER FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS MODEL YET.
I HAD THE WRENCH LIGHT COME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF A PROBLEM AT FIRST. THEN A DAY LATER WHEN I WAS GOING TO WORK, I TURNED THE TRUCK ON AND PUSHED THE GAS AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATED AT ALL. MY RPM'S WOULD NOT CLIMB. I HAD TO LET MY TRUCK START TO GO ON ITS OWN THEN MY GAS PEDDLE WOULD FINALLY CATCH AND MY TRUCK WOULD GO. LATER THAT DAY I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, GOING ABOUT 40MPH, AND MY VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY TRUCK. IT DID LIKE 3 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS HOW AS SOON AS I START MY TRUCK, WITH IT STILL IN PARK, AND HIT THE GAS THE LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND THE TRUCKS RPMS DON'T WORK. THIS IS ONE OF MANY PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS TRUCK. THE A/C IS A WHOLE OTHER TOPIC.
TRUCK WAS RECALLED FOR DOWNSHIFTING WHILE DRIVING. TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC FORD IN SHELBY, NC WHERE THE RECALL PROBLEM WAS TAKEN CARE OF. LATELY I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TRUCK WHERE TRUCK WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. HAVE TO STOP, TURN OFF IGNITION AND TRUCK WORKS FINE. TODAY WHILE DRIVING ,SPEEDOMETER STARTS GOING CRAZY AND TRUCK DOWNSHIFTS TO 1ST GEAR, LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING 35 MPH. I WOULD HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS ON INTERSTATE GOING 65 MPH. CALLED CLASSIC FORD TO SCHEDULE SERVICE, CANNOT SEE ME UNTIL NEXT WEEK. WHEN I DESCRIBED WHAT WAS GOING ON, THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING ON INTERNET AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
THE MASTER CYLINDER IS DUMPING THE FLUID FROM THE PRIMARY RESERVOIR INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF BRAKES. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE PREVIOUS RECALL (16S24), BUT IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. MY VEHICLE IS A F150 PLATINUM WITH THE 3.5L ECO BOOST ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000 MILES. THE BRAKE LOSS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN A PARK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC), HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,150.

BANGS GOING FROM #2 TO#3 GEAR WRENCH LIGHT ON ON 9/30/2020 TOOK TO FORD FOR PROBLEM CODE -NO CODE WAS FOUND ON 09/30/2020 PICKED UP TRUCK AND DROVE ABOUT FIVE BLOCKS TO STOPLIGHT TRUCK WAS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR AND WOULD HARDLY MOVE THEN BANGED INTO FIRST GEAR CALLED FORD BACK SAME DAY AN THEY SAID DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING AND WOULD CHECK WITH FORD TECH. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH FORD 6 SPEED TRANS. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AND I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE THIS TRUCK
DROVE TRUCK TO WORK NO ISSUES. WENT TO LEAVE FOR THE DAY, PRESSED THE BRAKES TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR FOLLOWED BY A BRAKE FLUID LOW MESSAGE. CHECKED FLUID AND IT WAS BELOW MIN LINE. CHECKED FOR LEAKS UNDER AND AT EACH WHEEL. NO FLUID FOUND. CONTACTED FORD TO CHECK FOR RECALL AND THEY STATED MY TRUCK WAS NOT PART OF THEIR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RECALL.
I HAVE A 2013 F150 THAT THE BRAKES WENT OUT ON. MECHANIC DIAGNOSING IT SAYS MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR 2013-2014 F150'S BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED ON THIS RECALL...WHY? I WAS DRIVING WHEN I WENT TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS LUCKY THERE WASN'T A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. I WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle did not accelerate as intended and only reached 3 MPH. The power train warning light illuminated and an unknown warning message appeared. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that a leak located in the engine coming from the timing cover about the A/C compressor and the electronic throttle body and engine timing cover gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
DRIVING IN A NEIGHBORHOOD DOWN A STEEP HILL AND BRAKES FAILED AND PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. ALMOST CRASHED INTO A HOUSE. HAD TO SLAM ON EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SLAM GEARS INTO A DOWNSHIFT MODE . CAME TO A STOP AT THE YARD. THE SHOP SAID THE LINES BROKE AT THE CALIPER IN THE RUBBER LINES AND FLUID WAS ALL OVER THE UNDER CARRIAGE.

I HAVE INTERMITTENTLY NOTICED FOR THE PAST 10 MONTHS THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE SHIFTED TO LOW GEAR (1ST OR 2ND) AND IS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO THE HIGHER GEARS. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS IN DRIVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT OCCURS WHILE I AM DRIVING, AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY SHIFT IT BACK INTO DRIVE WITH THE MANUAL GEAR UP BUTTONS ON GEAR SHIFTER. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM IN MOTION DRIVING IN THE CITY, AND I HAVE NOT SEEN IT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS YET. THE SYMPTOMS ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL IN FORD RECALL 19S07, BUT MY PICKUP DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL.
WHILE TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY, LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING CAME ON, AND WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD VERY LITTLE BRAKING EFFICACY. FORTUNATELY, THE HIGHWAY EXIT WAS SLIGHTLY UPHILL AND THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WAS GREEN WITH VEHICLES STARTING TO MOVE AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST THROUGH THE RIGHT TURN AT THE GREEN LIGHT. THIS OCCURRED ON THE ELGIN-O'HARE TOLLWAY (I-390) IN HANOVER PARK, ILLINOIS WHERE THE ELGIN-O'HARE (I-390) WESTBOUND MEETS LAKE STREET. MY 6 YEAR OLD SON WAS TRAVELLING WITH ME, AND WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE HAD THE SITUATION WORK OUT IN OUR FAVOR. HAD WE BEEN TRAVELLING HOME INSTEAD OF AWAY FROM HOME, THE EXIT RAMP WE WOULD HAVE USED WAS DOWNHILL AND TYPICALLY ENDS AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION.
RE: 19N01 TRANSMISSION MOLDED LEADFRAME. THE RECALLS THAT FORD DID PROVIDE FOR MY VEHICLE ONLY INCLUDED SOFTWARE UPDATES THAT DID NOT PREVENT THE ISSUE. WHEN THIS FAILED MY TRUCK WENT FROM TRAVELLING 45 MPH IN 6TH GEAR TO SUDDENLY SHIFTING TO 1ST GEAR. I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO AVOID HAVING AN ACCIDENT. THE ISSUE WAS NOT COVERED BY FOR BECAUSE I WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY COVERAGE. THIS IS UNACCCEPTABLE BECAUSE THE SOFTWARE UPDATES PROVIDED DID NOT PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR AND FLASHED A WRENCH SYMBOL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR CODE P0720. THE VEHICLE LURCHED COMING FROM A HUGH RATE OF SPEED TO SHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR WHICH ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR.
BRAKES WHEN IN REVERSE OR FORWARD AT IDLE DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AND TAKE EXTREME PRESSURE TO OPERATE IF THEY OPERATE. THIS CAUSES A LOSS OF BRAKING AND BEING UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS ANYWHERE I AM AT IDLE. PARKING LOTS, PARKING SPACES, OR ROAD AT STOP SIGNS. THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT WANT TO DEPRESS REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH PRESSURE I APPLY. IT IS MAINLY INTERMITTENT BUT WILL HAPPEN NEARLY EACH TIME IF YOU DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIME IN SHORT SUCCESSION.
HAULING A FULL 2 HORSE TRAILER. APPROACHING A RED LIGHT WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY REPAIR SHOP. THEY DISCOVERED A SLICE IN THE BRAKE LINE. IN ALL OF THEIR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO.

SEEMS LIKE THERE WOULD BE SOME WARRANTY ON PARTS FROM A RECALL. I?M AT ABOUT 154000 MILES, SO WE WERE TOLD WE JUST MISSED THE WARRANTY. BLOWER MOTOR IS TURNING ON AND OFF AND I HAVE NO AIR WHEN IT IS 80 DEGREES 90 DEGREES AND HOT! ALSO, HADD TO REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER AND WAS TOLD MY TRUCK WAS NOT PART OF RECALL WITH EXACT SAME PROBLEMS AS RECALL.
ON JUNE 3, 2020, MY SON AND I WERE IN MY 2013 FORD F-150 DRIVING WEST ON I-94. MY SON WAS DRIVING. AN ALARM SOUNDED THEN A MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD ABOUT AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES. I DON'T RECALL THE WORDING. WE HAD DRIVEN ABOUT 25 MILES FROM HOME WITH APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES TO OUR DESTINATION. WE CONTINUED ON AND I GOT OUT AND MY SON REMAINED IN THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. HE THEN GOT OUT AND LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND THERE WAS NO LIQUID UNDER THE TRUCK. I RETURNED TO THE TRUCK AND WE HEADED HOME ON I-696 THEN I-94 WITH NO ISSUES. THE BRAKE MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD WAS LIT. WHEN WE EXITED I-94 AT THE MARYSVILLE, MICHIGAN EXIT WE HAD A COMPLETE AND TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. NO BRAKES! MY SON STEPPED ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FORCEFULLY AND WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN ENOUGH TO MAKE THE TURN OFF THE EXIT RAMP AND ON TO GRATIOT ROAD. HE RAN THROUGH THE STOP SIGH THERE IN MAKING THE RIGHT TURN ON TO GRATIOT ROAD BUT THANKFULLY NO TRAFFIC WAS RIGHT THERE AT THE SAME TIME. WE DROVE THE ADDITIONAL HALF MILE OR SO TO OUR HOUSE AND PARKED THE TRUCK. WE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS EMPTY. WE THEN DROVE MY SON'S CAR TO AUTO ZONE AND BOUGHT A QUART OF BRAKE FLUID AND POURED IT IN TO THE F-150. AFTER A COUPLE HOURS WE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS EMPTY. THERE WAS NOT A DROP OF FLUID ON THE CEMENT DRIVEWAY UNDER THE TRUCK! WE CALLED MARYSVILLE TIRE AND AUTO, INC. AND DROVE THE TRUCK THE LESS THAN HALF MILE TO THEIR LOCATION. THEY PUT IN A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AT A COST OF $519.04. I CALLED FORD MOTOR OWNER RELATIONS AND MADE A REPORT (CASE #26860820) ON JUNE 19, 2020. RESEARCH SHOWS ME THAT OTHER F-150S HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR REPLACEMENT OF A MASTER CYLINDER AND I WANT YOU FOLKS TO KNOW OF MY EXPERIENCE.
