VEHICLE ALWAYS IN MOTION, APPEARS TO LOSE POWER, WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON, ODOMETER HAS DASH LINES, SPEEDOMETER FALLS TO 0, AND OTHER MPG DIGITAL SENSORS, DISTANCE TO EMPTY SENSOR AND AIR BAG FAILURE ALL HAPPEN SIMULTANEOUSLY. OCCASIONALLY THE TRUCK SEEMS TO HAVE POWER LOSS AT LOWER SPEEDS. TACHOMETER CONTINUES TO WORK. A FEW TIMES SHUTTING IGNITION OFF AND TURNING ON AGAIN ALL GOES BACK TO NORMAL. RECENTLY HAD RECALL SOFTWARE UPGRADE COMPLETED BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED JUST 4 DAYS LATER AS I WAS TURNING ONTO FREEWAY. BEFORE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE I TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL SHOP I TRUST, THERE WERE MULTIPLE CODES FOUND. I HAD THE SERVICE TECH I HAD CLEAR THE CODES. ALL INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 30. ALL SEEM TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH LOSS OF POWER AND NOISE FROM TRANSMISSION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITAL FORD (LOCATED AT 3660 S CARSON ST, CARSON CITY, NV 89701, (775) 882-5353), BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND NOTIFICATION WHEN THE PART BECAME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ON 4/2/19 WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 50 MPH, ALL AT ONCE, THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO 0, AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE TRUCK STARTED RUNNING AN IDLING ROUGH. WHEN WE GOT TO OUR DESTINATION WE WERE PLANNING ON CALLING ON SOMEONE TO PICK US UP. WE STARTED THE TRUCK TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY, AND IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. WE DROVE HOME NO PROBLEMS. I DROVE THE TRUCK TO WORK THE VERY NEXT DAY, 10 MINUTES AWAY, RAN ERRANDS, ABOUT 30 MINUTES DRIVING, AND WENT BACK TO WORK. STILL NO PROBLEMS. AS I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE WORK, I HADN'T BEEN DRIVING BUT A FEW MINUTES, THEN THE TRUCK ALL OF SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. I WAS UP TO ABOUT 45 MPH AT THIS POINT. THE BACK END OF THE TRUCK KEPT SLIDING UNTIL IT FINALLY SLOWED DOWN. LUCKILY I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN WITH NOT A LOT OF TRAFFIC. I AM NOT GOING TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL OUT LOCAL DEALERSHIP CHECKS IT OUT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE ADVISED US TO BRING IT THERE ON MONDAY APRIL 8TH, AND LEAVE IT WITH THEM.
THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS. I HAVE 2015 F-150 ECOBOOST AND FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 14 MONTHS HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. THE ENGINE DIES WHILE ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY TYPICALLY BETWEEN 55-70MPH AND THE WRENCH COMES ON. I HAVE THE COAST THE CAR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AVOIDING SPEEDING TRAFFICE, BRING THE CAR TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND THEN TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT WORKS. I'VE HAD IT HAPPY AS MANY AS 19 TIMES ON ONE TRIP.
REAR WINDOW EXPLODED, SHATTERED, NO OUTSIDE FORCE. PASSENGER SIDE OF 3 SECTION WINDOW. TRUCK WAS REMOTE STARTED, IDLING WHEN I ENTERED IT, DID NOT DRIVE, WAS READING MAIL IN A REMOTE PARKING LOT WHEN WINDOW EXPLODED SENDING MICRO SHARDS UP TO 12" ON INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF WINDOW. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) WAS RECEIVED. SANTA MARGARITA FORD (30031 SANTA MARGARITA PKWY, RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PART FOR THE RECALL WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR THE REPAIR COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURES LISTED IN THE RECALL, WHICH INCLUDED UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
FORD HAS YET TO FIX MY RECALL. I DRIVE 100 MILES EVERYDAY AND HAVE ALMOST HAVE HAD SEVERAL WRECKS DUE TO THE ISSUE. SAFETY RECALL- 19S07
TIMING CHAIN STRETCH DUE TO DESIGN FLAW. $3200 QUOTE FROM FORD FOR A FIX. TIMING CHAIN RATTLE ON STARTUP
SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, POWER STEERING FAILURE, HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT LIGHTS ALL COME ON AND POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED WORKING. PREVIOUSLY THESE WOULD COME ON AS SOON AS THE TRUCKS STARTED, LIGHTS COME ONE, SHUT TRUCK OFF, RESTARTED TRUCK AND LIGHTS WENT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THIRD TIME LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AND POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT WHILE TRAVELING DOWN INTERSTATE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT GERVAIS FORD (LOCATED AT 5 LITTLETON RD, AYER, MA 01432, (978) 772-6600) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
2013 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST 6-CYL WITH SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION. A FEW WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED FORD RECALL 19S07, STATING THAT THE VEHICLE MAY UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR INCREASING THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ACCIDENT. IT ALSO STATED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION WAS NOT EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN IT WAS READY. SINCE RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE NOTED IN THE RECALL. THIS HAPPENED WHILE MY 17 YEAR OLD WAS DRIVING ON A TWO-LANE ROAD AT 55MPH - THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SKID ABRUPTLY, NEARLY THROWING HIM AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID 5TH GEAR WAS CRACKED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR AND THAT IT WOULD COST BETWEEN $3500 AND $5000. I CONTACTED FORD VIA THEIR WEBSITE TO TELL THEM THAT I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT IF I HAD ISSUES I SHOULD COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE REMAINS AT THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I'M ASSUMING IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL REPAIRED.
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY SPUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND ALSO WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG IN CYLINDER 3. UNFORTUNATELY, THE INTERMITTENT SPUTTER CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ACTIVATED. ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC AND FROM A STOP IS DANGEROUS AND REQUIRES ADDITIONAL ATTENTION AND DRIVING TECHNIQUES TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL REAR END COLLISION CAUSED BY A VEHICLE APPROACHING MY VEHICLE FROM THE REAR.
DRIVING DOWN ROAD TRUCK SHIFTS FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR. FEELS LIKE HITTING A BRICK WALL. BROUGHT TO FORD DEALER SHIP TOLD ME PART OF RECALL PART WON'T BE OUT TILL APRIL. CALLED FORD COMPANY TOLD ME NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE LIKE THAT. VOICED MY SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO POWER TRAIN BEING MAIN PART OF VEHICLE AS WELL AS DANGER OF TRUCK DOWN SHIFT AT HIGH SPEED. I HAVE THE RECALL NHTSA 19V-075 THE PROCEDURE THAT FORD SAYS TO PREFORM DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE ALL IT DID WAS MAKE SURE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KICKS ON THE TRANSMISSION STILL WILL GO TOO FIST GEAR INTERMITTENTLY FORD NEEDS TOO FIX THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR EVEN DIE'S MY PERSONAL VEHICLE DID SHIFT TOO FIRST GEAR AT 70 MILES PER HOUR ON I79 ON MARCH 1ST
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT IT CONTINUED TO DOWNSHIFT WHILE DRIVING TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAIRD NOLLER FORD TOPEKA (LOCATED AT 2245 SW TOPEKA BLVD, TOPEKA, KS 66611) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND NOTIFIED THEM OF THE LETTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE RECALL, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MAY 9, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO FOLLOW PROTOCOL TO COMPLETE THE MANUFACTURER RECALL, INCLUDING A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND LEAD CASTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
FUSE 27 MELTED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE INOPERABLE. THE TRUCK WAS OPERATING WITH NO ISSUES, BUT THEN WOULD NOT START. THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER, BUT NOT FIRE. AFTER LOTS OF RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. THIS HAPPENED ON 3/23/2019 WHILE WE WERE OUT OF TOWN. THANKFULLY WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT STARTED OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED SEVERAL HOURS FROM HOME. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 3/24/2019. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR, WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND IMMEDIATELY WENT TO A SERVICE STATION. THE FUSE WAS COMPLETELY MELTED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC.
A ADVANCE TRACK AND BRAKE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER A DEALERSHIP INSPECTION I WAS INFORMED THE PRESSURE TRANSDUCER IS SHOWING OVER 200 PSI WHEN NO BRAKE IS APPLIED. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW HCU. 1500$ COST FOR A HCU THIS IS UNSAT A PERSON SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BRAKES GOING OUT OVERNIGHT LIKE I WAS INFORMED COULD HAPPEN. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED WITH A RECALL.
APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO I PURCHASED A USED 2013 FORD F-150 FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN WARREN, MICHIGAN. RECENTLY I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL DETAILING A RECALL REGARDING VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6R80 TRANSMISSION ' SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT (SAFETY RECALL 19S07). AFTER RECEIVING MY POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AGO FROM SZOTT FORD IN HOLLY, MICHIGAN, I EXPECTED MY TRANSMISSION TO RUN SMOOTHLY. SIX DAYS AGO, WHILE PULLING THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT LEAVE FIRST GEAR. SOMEHOW, I AVOIDED BEING HIT FROM CROSSING TRAFFIC. SHORTLY AFTER AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT, THE VEHICLE THEN SWITCHED ABRUPTLY FROM FIRST GEAR TO FIFTH GEAR (GOING AROUND 10 MPH). AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT I TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, IT STARTED IN FIFTH GEAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO MANUAL AND WOULD NOT LEAVE FIFTH GEAR. AT NO POINT DURING THIS TIME DID AN ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. AFTER SWITCHING THE CAR INTO FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE WORKING SMOOTHLY AGAIN. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING PROPERLY AND SINCE NO ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS TO DIAGNOSE OR FIX. SAFETY RECALL 19S07 DID NOT FIX THIS VEHICLES ISSUES. LAST NIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. IT WOULD NOT LEAVE 1ST GEAR. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THE CAR WOULD SIT IN SECOND GEAR THEN JUMP TO 5TH GEAR. VERY DANGEROUS PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF ANYTHING BECAUSE THE CAR BASICALLY STALLS IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SAFETY RECALL 19S07 DID NOT WORK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE; HOWEVER, NHTSA STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR. WHILE DRIVING IN 6TH GEAR IT DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1 GEAR THEN HAD NO DRIVING POWER. TOOK VEHICLE IN UNDER RECALL NOTICE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT GOING TO BE A FIX UNTIL QUARTER 2. I EXPLAINED THIS WAS AN UNSAFE CONDITION, BUT THEY DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT AND I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT.

WEEKS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE, WHICH INDICATED THAT A RECALL REPAIR SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AND THAT ANOTHER RECALL REMEDY NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WENDLE FORD (9000 N DIVISION ST, SPOKANE, WA 99218, 509-484-4800) TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19S190000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL RECALL WOULD BE REMEDIED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD RETURN BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED KEVIN POWELL'S FOOTHILL FORD (LOCATED AT 3220 COOK SCHOOL RD, PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC 27041, (336) 368-2239) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
HAD TO HAVE ALL 24 LUG NUTS REPLACED AT 62,000 MILES. I HAD TO REPLACE 12 LUG NUTS BEFORE THIS STARTING IN 2014.. VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. THEY GET DESTROYED REMOVING BUT GET STRIPPED AND ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE WITH SUPPLIED WRENCH. I WORK IN THE WOODS AND CAN'T GET ROAD SERVICE. THESE LUG NUTS ARE A POOR DESIGN.
I WAS WALKING TO MY VEHICLE AFTER WORK IN A PAVED EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT AND PUSHED THE AUTO START ON MY KEY. THE TRUCK STARTED AND I STOPPED AND TALKED TO A COWORKER FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE AND CONTINUED TO MY TRUCK. AFTER I TURNED THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION I CHECKED BEHIND ME TO PULL OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE OF THE 3 PIECE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. NO MARKS FROM AN IMPACT TO THE WINDOW. YOU CAN'T TELL THE WINDOW IS SHATTERED FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK WITHOUT GETTING VERY CLOSE TO THE WINDOW. I DO NOT USE THE REAR DEFROST OPTION ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT IT CAN MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE THE REAR WINDOW TO SHATTER. AFTER DOING AN ONLINE SEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THE AUTO START CAN ACTIVATE THE REAR DEFROST. I NOTICED DURING THE ONLINE SEARCH THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. UNFORTUNATELY SOME OF THEM MORE THAN ONCE TO THE SAME TRUCK.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, I TRIED TO TURN ON THE REAR DEFOGGER. IT WAS 27 DEGREES F AND THE REAR WINDOW WAS SLIGHTLY COVERED WITH FROST MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE BACK. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS, I HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG. I LOOKED IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT MY REARVIEW WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD SHATTERED. I WAS GOING ABOUT 55 MPH AT THE TIME AND NO OTHER CARS WERE AROUND ME. THIS IS THE SECOND WINDOW IN THIS TRUCK. FORD PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THE WINDOW UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO THE REAR DEFOGGER NOT WORKING. NOT LONG AFTER, THE DEFOGGER STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I REMEMBER SEEING MANY ONLINE POSTS ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS, BUT I ASSUMED FORD FIXED THE ISSUE WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE REPLACEMENT. NOW THAT THE WINDOW IS SHATTERED, IT IS EVIDENT THAT FORD HASN'T FIXED ANYTHING AND BY THE NUMBER OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS, THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE EITHER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A RECALL HASN'T BEEN ESTABLISHED YET WITH THE SAFETY CONCERNS OF BROKEN GLASS NEAR THE PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEATS.
TRUCK'S OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR AND HARNESS FAILED WHILE MOVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND DOWNSHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO LOW GEAR ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. FORD HAS A CURRENT RECALL ON THE SOFTWARE BUT NOT THE SENSOR. PRIOR YEAR VEHICLES ALSO HAD THE SAME RECALL AND FORD REPLACED THE SENSOR AS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. THE NIGHT I PICKED UP MY TRUCK (3/4/19) IT LOST SIGNAL TO OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR BEFORE I GOT TO THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 30 AND 340 AND WAS STUCK IN FIFTH GEAR THE WHOLE WAY HOME. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN LOSING SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL AND LOCKING ITSELF IN EITHER THIRD GEAR OR FIFTH GEAR REPEATEDLY ALL DAY LONG EVER SINCE. TODAY (3/11/19) IT SHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR WHILE GOING 55 MPH AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO A SLIDE/SKID TWICE - BOTH TIMES IN TRAFFIC, ONCE PUT ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 5TH. THIS PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING PROPERLY. MUST PULL OVER AND RESTART VEHICLE TO RESET THE TRANSMISSION TO 1ST. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC!! WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT TO 5TH. CRUISE CONTROL GOES OUT, SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 0, ODOMETER GOES BLANK. CHECK ENGINE AND AIRBAG LIGHTS COME ON, TRUCK GOES INTO LIMP MODE (DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE). SEE PICTURE OF INSTRUMENT PANEL, I WAS DRIVING @ 65-70MPH AT THE TIME. MUST PULL OVER AND RESTART VEHICLE TO RESET TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY MANY TIMES. AT LEAST MY VEHICLE HASN'T SHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 1ST LIKE SO MANY OTHERS I'VE READ ABOUT...YET!!!!

I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL, AS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED BACK TO FIFTH RELATIVELY QUICK. TRANSMISSION WILL ALSO ATTEMPT TO START IN FIFTH GEAR FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED FROM THIS EVENT.
THE VEHICLE DOWN SHIFTS FROM 4TH OR 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR, WHILE IN MOTION TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY CAUSING ENGINE TO REV VERY HIGH, WHEELS SKID, AND UNEXPECTED LOSE OF SPEED. CHECK ENGINE AND MECHANICAL LIGHT COME ON. THE SHIFT CAUSED A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A RATE OF 70-75 MPH, I NOTICED BY SPEEDOMETER TWITCH A FEW TIMES. I FOCUSED ON IT WHILE DRIVING AND NOTICED THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFT TO 3RD GEAR FROM 6TH, AND THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ABOUT 45MPH ON A DIME. ANOTHER INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING HOME, AND THE TRUCK DECIDED TO SHIFT FROM 6TH GEAR DOWN TO 1ST, AFTER WHICH I QUICKLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND SLOWED TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER. WHILE DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD ABOUT 40MPH MY TRUCK THEN SHIFTED FROM 5TH TO 3RD LURCHED AND WENT BACK TO 5TH GEAR. AN ODD EXPERIENCE IS WHEN MY TRUCK, WHEN IN A PARKING LOT SHIFTED FROM 1ST GEAR TO 5TH(???) I PULLED OVER AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN THE MANUAL MODE FOR SHIFTING AND DROVE A FEW MILES. AFTER WHICH I RECEIVED A WRENCH SYMBOL AND MY ALL OF MY METERS WENT INTO A DASHED MODE. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF, THEN TURNED BACK ON MY TRUCK AND DIDN'T HAVE ANYMORE ISSUES. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE WIRING IN THE TRANSMISSION. WE WILL SEE IF THAT FIXES THE ISSUE, HOWEVER I GOT A RECALL NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL FOR INVOLUNTARY DOWNSHIFTING WHICH MAKE ME THINK THERE IS ANOTHER UNDERLYING ISSUES, OTHER THAN THE WIRING.
. I HAD REMOTE STARTED THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING. ON THE WAY TO WORK THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW LATER SHATTERED WITH A LOUD POP WITH NO IMPACT OR PREVIOUS DAMAGE. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE REAR DEFROSTER NOT SHUTTING OFF. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENING (SAME SECTION OF THE SLIDING WINDOW) BUT FORD HAS YET TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITH NO IMPACT WHAT SO EVER
WHILE DRIVING AT 70MPH NOTICED MY TRUCK HAD DOWN SHIFTED INTO 5TH GEAR, I SLOWED TO PULL OVER AND NOTED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON, THE WRENCH INDICATOR AND SPEEDOMETER WAS AT ZERO. MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWN SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO STOP SAFELY AT THE SHOULDER AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTARTED. MY TRUCK STARTED NORMALLY. I WENT TO FORD HUNTINGTON BEACH AND DESCRIBED THE SITUATION. AFTER EVALUATING DEALER STATED TRANS FLUID FULL, POSS LEAD FRAME DAMAGE AND VALVES GETTING STUCK. $1600! I INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE PENDING RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT ONLY COVERED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. DAMAGE CAUSED BY A KNOWN FAULT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
WHEN BRAKING THE ENGINE KEEPS GOING AND WONT STOP. HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND SHUT OFF. TRUCK JUST PROPELLS FORWARD WHEN BRAKE PRESSED
I USED THE REMOTE STARTER IN THE MORNING TO WARM UP MY TRUCK. AS I ENTERED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND SAT DOWN I HEARD A LOUD POP ALMOST LIKE A SMALL GUN FIRED. SHORTLY AFTER I COULD HEAR THE CRUNCHING OF THE REST OF MY BACK WINDOW SHATTERING. I COULD ALSO SMELL SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AFTER CHECKING ON LINE IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE REAR DE-FROSTER.
FORD RECALL 19S07 UNDER THIS PROGRAM, IT IS ONLY A SOFTWARE FIX TO PROGRAM THE VEHICLE TO IGNORE THE SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE. THE SOFTWARE PATCH PROGRAMS THE COMPUTER TO IGNORE ERRORS IN THE OSS SENSOR. THIS COULD MASK TRUE PROBLEMS WITH THE OSS AND THUS THE TRANSMISSION AS A WHOLE. FURTHER, IT COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION, ENGINE, OR BOTH. OUR VEHICLE STARTED EXPERIENCING THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN THIS RECALL ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 10, 2019. AS MY WIFE WAS ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, IT SHUTTERED AND DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED BACK UP NORMALLY. AS SOON AS THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINT WITH ANDY MOHR FORD IN PLAINFIELD, IN TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 26, 2019. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE SOFTWARE PATCH FOR THE 2013 MODELS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2019. I ADVISED THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT WE WERE EXPERIENCING THE ISSUES DESCRIBED. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED FORD'S CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS ADVISED THE SAME THING BUT THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE IN THE INTERIM UNTIL THE FIX WAS ISSUED. ON OR ABOUT MARCH 5, 2019, I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WITH ANDY MOHR FORD AGAIN AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE SOFTWARE PATCH WOULD NOT ACTUALLY FIX THE ISSUE OF THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING. FURTHER, IT WAS STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. FURTHER, THAT THIS FIX WOULD SIMPLY MASK THE ISSUE THAT WAS POTENTIALLY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT FORD WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR FOR THE ACTUAL DEFECT.
THE DEFROSTER ON THE REAR GLASS CAUSED THE BACK GLASS TO SHATTER WHILE DRIVING.
