TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KENNY ROSS FORD (724-864-3601, LOCATED AT 104 BLACK HILL RD, IRWIN, PA 15642) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED UNLESS THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
FORD F150 SUPERCREW 5.0 V8 6 SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION. ERRATIC SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES WILL STAY IN 5TH GEAR AT A STOP WONT SHIFT DOWN, SOMETIMES WHEN PULLING OUT IN 1ST GEAR WILL NOT SHIFT UP. BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 1ST GEAR AND THIRD OR 5TH WHILE DRIVING. SHUTTING OFF VEHICLE AND RESTARTING SOMETIMES SOLVES ISSUE BUT BECOMING MORE FREQUENT, RECALL FOR REPROGRAMMING SPEED OUTPUT SENSOR WAS PERFORMED WITH NO RESOLUTION. APPEARS TO BE THE LEAD FRAME MODULE ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED IN 2011-2012 FORD F150 BUT NOT RECALLED OR EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 2013 MODELS. VERY VERY DANGEROUS, CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE!
FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2011-2013 F-150 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (RECALL #19S07). THE TRANSMISSION MAY UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR, REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE SPEED. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (LETTER) FROM FORD INFORMING ME OF THIS ISSUE. PROBLEM IS MY TRUCK HAS BEEN DOWNSHIFTING FROM 6TH GEAR TO FIRST WITHOUT WARNING FOR THE PAST MONTH (FEB.-MARCH 2019). I NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR CO. AND WAS INFORMED YOUR VEHICLE HAS A DEFECTIVE PART AND THIS RECALL DOESN'T COVER THIS. ACCORDING TO FORD, THE RECALL IS ONLY A SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD TO OVERRIDE THIS ISSUE. THE RECALL LETTER STATED MY TRUCK WAS SAFE TO DRIVE (REALLY!!) I SCHEDULED A APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SERVICE CENTER TO INSPECT AND REPAIR. I DON'T TRUST THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIPS. I HIT THE BUTTON FOR THE REAR DEFROST, BUT IT DIDNT LIGHT UP. I HAD STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO GET A DRINK AND I WAS SITTING IN A PARKING STALL WITH THE TRUCK RUNNING WHEN I NOTICED SMOKE AND SMELLED SOMETHING HOT. SHORTLY THERE AFTER, ABOUT 5 SECONDS,I HEARD A LOUD BANG, WHICH SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. I TURNED AROUND AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THIS TRUCK WAS SHATTERED. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM TO BE CREATED BY THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, THAT WHEN THE DEFROSTER ISNT FULLY GROUNDED, IT CAUSES THE WINDOW TO GET TOO HOT CAUSING IT TO EXPLODE. BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE DEFROSTER IS ON OR OFF BECAUSE THE LIGHT ON THE DEFROSTER WAS NOT ON PRIOR TO ME SMELLING THE SMOKE AND HEARING THE LOUD BANG.
TIMING CHAIN NEEDS REPLACEMENT (PER HILLER FORD) CODE CAME ON
VEHICLE STALLS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, NO MATTER IF IT'S ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS. THIS IS DANGEROUS. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES. IT'S THERE NOW AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND RECALLED THE 2011 AND 2012 AND SOME 2013S. BUT NOT MINE. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. IT LEFT ME STRANDED IT RURAL COLORADO IN A SNOW STORM IN 7 DEGREE WEATHER WITH MY DAUGHTER. I DID RESTART BUT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD HAD IT NOT.

CURRENT RECALL DOES NOT ADDRESS THE SUDDEN UP-SHIFTS MENTIONED HERE. 2013 FORD F-150 MFG DEFECT: MOLDED LEADFRAME ASSY IN 6R80 TRANSMISSION SYMPTOMS: INTERMITTENT LOSS OF SPEED SIGNAL CAUSES SUDDEN/UNEXPECTED SLAMMING UPSHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR TO 5TH WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, CAUSING A COMPLETE AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF ALL ACCELERATION. INDICATIONS: 5TH GEAR SUDDENLY INDICATED ON DISPLAY, DASHES REPLACE NUMBERS ON SPEED/MILEAGE RELATED DISPLAYS (MPG, ODOMETER). SPEEDOMETER MAY READ 0, AIRBAG SYMBOL POPS ON, LARGE ORANGE WRENCH SYMBOL MAY BRIEFLY APPEAR. PRESSING ON ACCELERATOR DOES NOT CAUSE DOWNSHIFT. MOTOR MAY STALL. REMAINS IN 5TH GEAR WITHOUT SOME OTHER CORRECTIVE ACTION. TURNING ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON WILL RESET THE COMPUTER, AND VEHICLE OPERATES NORMALLY UNTIL NEXT OCCURRENCE. DANGERS: THIS COULD BE FATAL WHEN PULLING OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, BOTH FROM THE SIDE (PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM SIDE STREET) OR FROM REAR (SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED LOSS OF SPEED/ NO BRAKE LIGHTS). FORD CANNOT FIX THIS BY RE-PROGRAMMING THE VEHICLE TO IGNORE THE FAULTY SENSOR ANY MORE THAN YOU CAN IGNORE AN ONCOMING CEMENT TRUCK OR TRAIN. REPAIR IS APPROXIMATELY $800. IF NOT RECALLED, OWNERS MAY TRY TO LIVE WITH THE RISKS OR TRADE TO AN UNKNOWING PERSON, ENDANGERING LIVES OF OTHERS. *THIS DEFECTIVE PART IS ALSO THE ROOT CAUSE OF FORD RECALL #19S07, INVOLVING SUDDEN VIOLENT DOWN-SHIFTS (NOT UPSHIFTS). FORD IS AVOIDING THE PROBLEM BY RE-PROGRAMMING THE ECU TO IGNORE THE INTERMITTENT SPEED SIGNALS, ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL MORE GRACEFULLY, DEFECTS TO BE REPAIRED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. THIS APPROACH WILL NOT WORK FOR THE UP-SHIFT PROBLEM. THE DEFECTIVE PART SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY REPLACED AT FORD'S EXPENSE TO CORRECT BOTH PROBLEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING AREA. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE RECALL NOTICE STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT PROVIDED A SOLUTION OTHER THAN REPLACING THE SAME OEM RACK AND PINION PART THAT COULD FAIL AGAIN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,542.
TRUCK WILL SHIFT FROM 1 TO 3 WHEN STARTING. IT WILL ALSO SHIFT FROM 1 TO 5 WHEN STARTING, CREATING A DANGEROUS CONDITION WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AS IT WILL BARELY GET MOVING. THE TRUCK WILL ALSO SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1 FROM A START. SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE AND ALLOWING THE COMPUTER TO RESET USUALLY FIXES THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL SOFTWARE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS17397322. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WOULD CALL HIM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

TODAY MY WIFE WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK WITH OUR TWO KIDS DOWN INTERSTATE I79 AT 70 MILES PER HOUR AND THE TRUCK SHIFTED ITSELF TOO FIRST GEAR LOCKED UP THE REAR TIRES AND ABOUT MADE THEM WRECK. I HAD TOO LEAVE MY JOB TO GET THEM OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DRIVE MY TRUCK BACK TOO WORK THIS IS NOT ONLY A ISSUE BUT IT COULD GET SOMEONE SERIOUSLY HURT
MY TRANSMISSION SPONTANEOUSLY STARTED TO SHIFT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES FROM HIGH GEAR TO LOW GEAR 2/28/2019. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE DEALER DOWN THE STREET AFTER STOPPING AND POWER CYCLING. 3/1/2019, I WAS INFORMED A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE WAS AVAILABLE, ALL WAS WELL, AND I PICKED UP MY F150. 3/5/2019, THE F150 SHIFTED FROM HIGH TO LOW AGAIN. I CONTACTED MY FORD DEALER OF THE ONGOING ISSUE AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GET TO IT AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 3/11/2019. ON 3/12/2019, I WAS INFORMED BY THE LOCAL DEALER THEY COULD NOT GET THE PROBLEM TO REPRODUCE. FROM RESEARCH CONDUCTED FROM THE PROBLEM ONSET, INTERNET FORUMS LED ME TO BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WAS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE WITH THE PLASTIC MOLDED LEAD FRAME MODULE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE FORD DEALER SAID THEY SAW NO PROBLEMS WITH THE LEAD FRAME, BUT I MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE IT REPLACED. 3/14/2019 PICKED UP MY F150. THE DATE IS 3/20/2019 AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT REPEATED ITSELF LEADING TO BELIEVE THE PROBLEM ORIGINALLY WAS THE LEAD FRAME MODULE. I AM SURPRISED AN UPDATE DEVICE AND RECALL HAS NOT BEEN PERFORMED ON THIS ITEM AS IT APPEARS TO BE THE CULPRIT OF THE F150 SHIFTING PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
MOVING GRADUALLY PICKING UP SPEED AFTER STOPPING AT RED LIGHT TRUCK GOT TO 4TH GEAR AND THEN PROCEEDED TO DOWN SHIFT ALL THE WAY TO 1ST MAKING IT SEEM LIKE SOME ONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND. THIS CAUSED MY TRUCK TO GO FROM ABOUT 35MPH TO 10MPH VERY QUICKLY AND I WAS LUCKY NOT TO BE HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE SPUN AND FLIPPED ABOUT THREE TIMES AND CRASHED AT THE MEDIAN. THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE SUSTAINED SOME BRUISES WHILE THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION. BOTH WERE TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM IN AN AMBULANCE. THE FOUR WINDOW AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AT FIRST AND WAS LATER TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE TILLAMOOK MOTOR COMPANY DEALER (877)-785-4771, LOCATED AT 501 MAIN AVENUE, TILLAMOOK, OR 97141) AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REGIONAL CORPORATE OFFICE WOULD BE CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE (BY THE CONTACT' DAUGHTER) AND WAS TOLD TO SEND THE ACCIDENT REPORT. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT FULL SPEED (50 MPH), MY FORD-F-150 WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" AND A WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED. THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY DECELERATED WITHOUT ACTIVATING THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE REAR-ENDED ON A DARK COUNTRY ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER EVENTUALLY. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE TRUCK AND RESTARTING IT, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME BUT THE PROBLEM REOCCURED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I COULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. AT THE DEALER - IT WAS NOTED THAT THIS IS IDENTICAL (BOTH IN TRUCK ACTIONS AND ELECTRONIC CODES) TO THE 16N02 RECALL FOR 2011-2012 FORD -F-150'S BUT THAT MINE WAS NOT COVERED DUE TO MY VIN NUMBER NOT BEING PART OF THAT BATCH. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED (AS OFFERED IN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED WARRANTEE) SO THAT MY TRUCK WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR WEAR TO ANY OF THE PARTS THAT NEEDED REPLACED. LOOKING ONLINE - THIS HAS OCCURRED IN SEVERAL 2013 FORD F-150 ACCORDING TO MESSAGE BOARDS - AND WE HOPE FORD WILL CONSIDER EXPANDING THE RECALL AND PREVENTING THIS ISSUE FROM OCCURRING TO OTHER OWNERS.
TAKATA RECALL. I PUT MY TRUCK IN DRIVE AND AS SOON AS I GET OVER 2-5 MPH IT SHIFTS FROM 1ST GEAR TO 3RD. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I LOSS THE SPEEDOMETER AND MY TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT TURN OFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH A BIG WRENCH IN THE CENTER OF MY GAUGES. WILL NOT DOWN SHIFT BELOW 3RD AND WILL NOT GO INTO 6TH. ALSO THE ODOMETER,MPG, AND TRIPS ALL GO BLANK.CODE P0720. OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT. I'M TOLD BY FORD AND A TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT IT'S IN THE TRANSMISSION! TRUCK JUST HIT 69147 MILES AND I HAVEN'T OWNED IT THREE WEEKS YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REARVIEW MIRROR FRACTURED WHILE THE DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REARVIEW MIRROR FRACTURED. 2013 FORD F-150 SHIFTS FROM 5TH OR 6TH TO 1ST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. TRUCK SLOWS DOWN AT A EXTREMELY FAST PACE, ENGINE REPAIR LIGHT COMES ON, AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. HAPPENED WHILE GOING 70 MPH ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK MY TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAD FRAME AND THE CONNECTOR IN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,450.
I WAS DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING THE STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. IF MY WIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE SHE WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TURN AND POSSIBLY HAD A VERY BAD ACCIDENT.
FORD F-150 RECALL - CURRENT RECALL FROM FEBRUARY 2019 FOR THE UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR ON 2013 F-150 DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF SUDDEN LOSS OF GEAR AND UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFTING. VEHICLE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED PER THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING. WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE LOST GEAR AND SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR FROM 5TH GEAR NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. REAR TIRES HAVE LOCKED UP ON OCCASION WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN NEWNAN, GEORGIA WITHIN ONE HOUR OF PICKING IT UP FROM THE SAME DEALERSHIP AFTER THEY HAD COMPLETED THE RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE. FORD DEALERSHIP IN NEWNAN, GEORGIA THEN RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND IDENTIFIED THE LEAD MOUNT CABLE AS THE ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR MODEL YEAR 2011-2013 FORD F-150. THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2013 F150 WOULD DOWN SHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY ALMOST STOPPING ABRUPTLY. IT HAPPENED TWICE BUT AFTERWARDS, ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IT WOULD UP SHIFT WITHOUT WARNING LEAVING THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO ACCELERATE BASICALLY STALLED IN THE STREET. TWICE IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH, LEAVING ME ONLY ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AT WALDORF FORD AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A NEW SPEED SENSOR LOCATED ON THE LEAD FRAME OF THE TRANS. I HAD THE WORK COMPLETED BUT LATER REALIZED THAT THERE'S A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT INCLUDED BUT WAS NOT INFORMED WHY. IT'S WITH IN THE MODEL YEAR RANGE, DIAGNOSED BY FORD WITH EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND SYMPTOMS BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON NOT INCLUDED. I'VE CONTACTED FORD ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS. IF YOU COULD ASSIST IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
2013 FORD F-150 WITH 142K MILES BEGAN RATTLING UPON START UP. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS HAD THE OIL CHANGED PER SCHEDULE AND HAS ALWAYS USED FULL SYNTHETIC MOBIL 1 OIL. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 3.5'S EVEN ON WELL TAKEN CARE OF VEHICLES. REPAIR WAS ESTIMATED AT 3200.00 PLUS TAX TO REPLACE CHAIN. F-150 WAS TAKEN IN AND W HEN THE DEALERSHIP OPENED THE ENGINE THEY INDICATED THAT IT WAS IN PRISTINE CONDITION INSIDE AND NO SIGNS OF SLUDGE OR INDICATORS THAT ENGINE WASN'T TAKEN CARE OF. DEALERSHIP ALSO INDICATED THAT THERE IS A TSB FOR THESE ENGINES.
FEB 19, 2019 STARTED EXPERIENCING DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK IT WOULD SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR AND WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS, ALSO FROM A STAND STILL THE VEHICLE WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS FROM A STOP AND START. ON FEB 21, 2019 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO PRECISION FORD DEALERSHIP OF LILLINGTON, NC WHERE A TSB 13-6-8, (OBDII DATA CODE P070) OPEN RECALL 19S07 WAS DIAGNOSED. THEY WERE AWARE OF THE OPEN RECALL BUT COULD NOT REPAIR IT UNTIL APPROVED BY THE FORD COMPANY. I CONTACTED THE FORD COMPANY ON MAR 8, 2019. THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SECOND QUARTER OF THIS YEAR TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, AND THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME IF I PAY TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. I FEEL THIS DECISION IS UNPROFESSIONAL OF THE FORD COMPANY AND A TOTAL INCONVENIENCE FOR ME TO BE WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION WITH NO INDICATION OR TIMEFRAME OF WHEN I CAN GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. AT THIS RATE MY VEHICLE WILL BE INOPERATIVE FOR NO LESS THAN 2 - 3 MONTHS WHICH I FEEL IS NO FAULT OF MINE BUT A LACK OF EXPEDIENCY ON BEHALF OF THE FORD COMPANY.

I NOTICED MY F150 SHIFTING STRANGE AT SOME POINTS RECENTLY(WITH IN THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS) THEN I WAS WATCHING THE NEWS AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON 11-13 F150S. SO I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY LOOKED UP MY VEHICLE TO SEE IF IT WAS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL SO THEY ASKED ME TO SET AN APPOINTMENT FOR IT TO BE FIXED. SO I DID, I LEFT IT WITH THEM FOR TWO DAYS ON THE SECOND DAY THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE FORD HASN'T DEVELOPED THE SOFTWARE TO FIX IT AND IT WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SOMETIME IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF THE YEAR. I ASKED THEM IF I WAS GOING TO GET A RENTAL UNTIL IT CAN BE FIXED DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY CONCERN. I DRIVE MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE DAILY. THEY TOLD ME NO AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO CALL FORD. SO I CALLED FORD AND AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO TRY AND SPEAK TO A MANAGER IN THEIR CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT I FINALLY GET A CALL FROM LENNY THE MANAGER WHO PROCESSED TO TELL ME THAT 'SAFETY IS NOT A JUSTIFIABLE REASON FOR THEM TO ISSUE ME A RENTAL' SO I ASKED HIM WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MYSELF OR MY CHILDREN GET HURT OR KILLED DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE RECALL BEING THAT MY TRUCK CAN SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AS I'M GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. HE DID NOT HAVE ANY ANSWER FOR THAT AND TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING HE CAN DO. SO I THEN ASKED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOVE HIM. HE SAID THERE WASN'T ANYONE ABOVE HIM. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THIS TRUCK ESPECIALLY WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT IF IT CAN DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AT ANYTIME. THAT CAN CAUSE A BIG PROBLEM AND HURT OR KILL ANYONE IN MY TRUCK AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAYS. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT'S PUTTING MOTORISTS AT POSSIBLE RISK EVERY TIME ONE OF THESE AFFECTED VEHICLES IS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. AND THEY DON'T HAVE ANY WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM YET.
VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING WHILE MOVING AND VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE ONLY 5TH AND 3RD GEAR. IF YOU ARE PULLING OUT THE VEHICLE WILL STALL LEAVING THE POSSIBILITY FOR A CRASH. FORD REFLASHED THE PCM PER THE RECALL DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE. NOW THE SAY THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE LEAD FRAM WHICH WAS RECALLED ON TRUCKS BEFORE THIS YEAR BUT NOT THIS TRUCK. A LOT OF THESE TRUCKS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE.

INFAMOUS FORD DEATH WOBBLE FOR THE SECOND TIME ON THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN THE EARLY PERIOD OF OWNERSHIP. IT WAS FIXED. IN FEBRUARY, THE DEATH WOBBLE STARTED AGAIN. THE TRUCK HAS 182,000 MILES ON IIT. I HAVE SPENT $3,000 AT GOODYEAR GETTING MOST OF THE FRONT END COMPONENTS REPLACED BEFORE THEY THREW THERE HANDS UP AND COULD NOT FIX IT. I AM PRESENTLY $1,100 INTO REPAIR AT TOMBALL FORD. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY THE NHTSA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND COME TO FIND THAT THIS IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH FORD. EITHER THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE WINDOW OR WITH REAR DEFROST GETTING TO HOT OR STAYING ON TO LONG. THE TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE HAPPEN A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE CITY AT LOWER SPEEDS 40 MPH OR LESS. TRUCK WILL TYPICALLY GET BACK IN SINK AND DRIVE NORMAL. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS THE SCARIEST. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH IN 6 GEAR. AND THE TRUCK DOWN SHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR!!!! LOCKING THE REAR WHEELS UP IN TRAFFIC AT THIS SPEED IS DANGEROUS AND LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT OR KILLED. SINCE THIS ISSUE I AVOID INTERSTATE OR HIGHWAY TRAVEL AS THE DEALERSHIPS TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TRUCK NOR CAN THEY FIX IT IF THEY CAN'T RECREATE THE ISSUE. I DON'T LET FAMILY OR FRIENDS RIDE IN THE TRUCK IF I HAVE TO DRIVE IT OR LET ANYONE ELSE DRIVE IT .
