NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2013 Ford F-150. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The component that failed was the transmission and the power train control module. The vehicle and component is available for inspection. My self and passenger were at risk while pulling out onto the highway and the vehicle had a sudden transmission downshift. This disabled the vehicle in the highway while merging into oncoming traffic. The problem has been confirmed by the Ford Dealership and a repair estimate has been provided for the transmission and PCM (Powertrain control module) The vehicle component has been inspected by Ford the manufacturer. There were no warning symbols, lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to they failure.
The contact's husband owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at highway speeds, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted and the instrument panel went blank. The contact's husband restarted the vehicle and resumed normal operation; however, the failure returned the next day. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was acknowledged that the vehicle had experienced transmission failure; however, the vehicle was not covered under warranty or recall. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the back over prevention camera screen displayed a blue screen, and there was no visible image displayed. The contact stated that the failure had created a visibility hazard. The contact stated that occasionally, after shifting to the reverse, the back-over prevention camera failed to activate. The cause of the failure was not yet been determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 118,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 65 MPH, the message “Service Vehicle Soon” was displayed, and check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle immediately experienced a loss of automotive power, and the speedometer went to zero(0) and remained at zero(0). The contact pulled over onto the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that lead frame connector was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 166,712.
Truck is down shifting to 1st gear while on freeway at high speed. Causing no control and back wheels to lock up. Almost died. Ford says it’s not covered under recal
2013 F-150 subject to Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01, Transmission Molded Leadframe Extended Coverage. Speedometer went to zero, airbag light illuminated, truck downshifted on its own with a sudden lunging feeling, as if I got rear ended. Wrench icon illuminated. Truck would not shift properly. Mileage indication went blank. I was doing 55 mph on the highway with other vehicles around me. Caused me to have to make an abrupt stop and almost caused an accident. Definitely put my safety and others at risk. Problem happened 3 times during my 1 trip. Was able to correct by turning vehicle off then back on. Can be reproduced easily. Not confirmed by dealer or maintenance tech, or inspected by anyone because I am afraid to drive it. There were no warning signs or symptoms before problem occured.
Safety issue. Engine code P0720 which means the output speed sensor sends erratic signals to the power train module or PCM. There is a recall on this truck for this exact thing. What happens is the gears in the transmission don’t shift smoothly and what happened to me was I was driving 70mph all of sudden the truck made a loud bang and I was in 6th gear and the truck went from being in 6th gear just dropped into 1st gear and at 70mph it’s pretty frightening. The brakes locked up and i managed to stay calm and regain control of the vehicle and pull over. Immediately I seen a big yellow wrench on the dashboard along with the check engine light so I turned it off and restarted it thinking maybe the computer will reset. The truck is literally stuck in like 3rd or 4th gear because I can’t go past 40 mph. I was only 5 mins away from home as soon as I got home I use my code machine and the engine code I received was P0720. I contacted my Larsen Ford in Lakewood NJ they informed me about the recall but told me that they’re not paying for any repairs because it’s past 10 years. It ended in January of 2024. I didn’t buy the truck until July 2024 I had no idea about any recalls. I’m not the original owner. I just assumed since it’s a safety issue that the manufacturer must be responsible for all repairs regardless of how long it’s been. I bought the truck with only 38,000 miles on it presently it has 40,000 miles on it now but I don’t think it’s fair that I have to pay for everything to be fixed myself.
I am the current owner of a 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch, which I purchased in 4-2019. In 2025, the truck began to experience sudden, harsh downshifting while driving, sometimes dropping from 6th gear to 1st without warning. This created a major safety hazard, especially at higher speeds. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by Greenbrier Ford in Lewisburg, West Virginia. They identified the issue as related to the transmission's OSS sensor and PCM programming—consistent with Ford’s CSP 19N01 and TSB 16-0008. The repair was completed at my expense because I was never notified of the CSP, even though I was the legal owner at the time. Before the failure, I experienced intermittent rough shifting and hesitation, but during the major incident, a “Wrench” light appeared on the dashboard, and I suddenly lost power while driving. This happened without warning and created a serious safety risk. That’s what prompted me to take the vehicle in for service, where the issue was linked to the transmission and matched symptoms covered under Ford CSP 19N01.The issue was confirmed by Greenbrier Ford in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where all my mechanical work has been performed since I purchased the vehicle from them in 2019. I would like a refund as this is related to a dangerous recall.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle jerked and briefly lost motive power before slamming into gear. The contact stated that the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The check engine warning light and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where it was diagnosed that the wheel speed sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train); the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.
The passenger air bag light indicates OFF even when I am in the seat. I am a 5’8’’ 125 lb person. This is frequently what happens when I am sitting. I have tried undoing and reattaching the seat belt but often it does nothing or reverts back to off in a short time. The picture below is right now while my husband is driving.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
My truck suddenly downshifting into low gear at highway speeds without warning, or any input from me. Ford recalled this vehicle two times previously, but it is still downshifting without warning.
Hello, I am writing a request to supplement 19N01 on Ford models as I had a near accident that almost happened. First, as I was driving, my mileage odometer was glitching showing dashes "------", also notice that my check engine light came on and as a result the airbag off warning was showing as well. As a result of all this, seems that the vehicle malfunction as my vehicle was in "limp mode" while all of this was happening and when pressing the gas no acceleration was happening (mind you that was all happening in heavy traffic). After moving steadily and avoiding heavy traffic, I parked my vehicle to the side and turn it on and off. This seems to restart the system however my check engine was still on. After further research on this issue, I see that this is a known issue that happens with the model of my vehicle. After calling the dealership with my issue, they state it is a customer program rather than a recall. I beg NHTSA to please supplement this known issue and instead of 10 years, please use the 150K mileage. I cannot be driving with this unsafe issue as it was a scary issue that happen during traffic.
When I put my Truck in Reverse...My Backup Camera goes BLACK with NO PICTURE. Which has caused me to back into things.
I have a 2013 F-150 FX4 5.0L subject to Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01, Transmission Molded Leadframe Extended Coverage. This “recall” expired December 2023. I just purchased this Truck [XXX] and Just started experiencing issues tied to this “recall” today ([XXX]) as the truck would not start and the message came stating put in park to start, which it was. I called the local Ford dealership and they set up a mobile visit to clear the 19S19 recall then said that it was not tied to the leadframe issue and i would have to pay out of pocket. The dealer, Palmetto Ford in Charleston, SC told me that they could not fix the ongoing recall on this vehicle (19S19) and told me to contact local dealer. The 19N01 recall is ongoing through the country from what i am starting to read and don't think it is fair that Ford knowing this problem still exist wants to charge almost $2000 to get it fixed now when they were once doing it for free. Why did it expire in 2023, when they knew this was going to continue to happen? I am hoping the NHTSA can get the 19N01 recall back into effect as they need to be accountable for their flaws. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while towing an empty horse trailer at 65 MPH, the vehicle downshifted into second gear, and the engine revved abnormally. The contact stated that there was a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was turned off and towed to the residence. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000.
My vehicle is having unexpected downshifts. I was driving approx. 55 mph today and I felt something and saw it downshifted to 2nd gear. I pulled over and turned it off. Didn’t see anything odd under the hood and couldn’t get it to start again until the computer was reset. I googled and found that my year and model vehicle had a recall for this exact problem. Ford is advising that my vehicle has no recalls when I submit my VIN

My two thousand thirteen ford f150 3.5 Ecoboost has the safety consumer alert for the powertrain. My vehicle downshifs and loses all power to the engine, and the dealership will do nothing for me. As they state the notice expired last year, my vehicle only has a hundred and twenty nine thousand miles on it, and I would like to see how I can get this fixed
While driving my vehicle speedometer goes to zero which no recognition of speed. If brought to a stop I can’t get out of first gear. Ford issued a “Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01” related to the 6R80 transmissions, Sudden Transmission Downshift. This “Customer Satisfaction” should have been a non expiring recall. The check engine sometimes flicks on but does not stay on or show a code. Issue is intermittent and lasts 10-15 min until vehicle recognizes it’s not incapable of shifting. Given this severely limiting malfunction I highly recommend the recall be extended indefinitely to make sure these vehicles are fixed properly.
I have always owned a ford truck. I recently have poured over $7k recently on typical maintenance and normal wear repairs. Not a big deal since I love my truck and I take good care of it. I have a 2013 F150 4x4 and my vin is part of the “customer satisfaction” recall. I purchased my truck used from an actual dealership (Mercedes Benz) but I also paid $3,000 at that time for a Premier Protection plan. (Used only once for the water pump). In the past 3.5 years I’ve had this truck I have only driven it 30k miles and it currently has 116k miles on it. It is very well maintained and serviced. Recently the truck went into limp mode while I was driving on the freeway and I almost flipped the vehicle with my toddler also in the vehicle and it was raining. It was the most scariest experience I’ve ever had driving. I want this issue resolved and Ford needs to stand by its product. This is ridiculous. The wrench light of death illuminated when this incident occurred. I called the local dealer and they laughed at me over the phone and basically told me it’s not a safety issue and it’s expired. This is not acceptable and I will be contacting the local news media outlets and I will be reaching out as far as taking legal recourse over what is clearly a massive safety issue. I purchased vehicle in 2021 and vehicle just started having the issue two years after the fix for free from dealer expired.
Transmission - Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01. Transmission needs lead frame replacement but did not start happening until after the expiration of the program.
Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious and potentially life-threatening safety issue with my 2013 Ford F-150. I recently experienced a sudden and dangerous failure while driving on the freeway, which nearly caused a major accident. After doing some research, I discovered that this issue was previously addressed under a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program, but the coverage period has since expired. This is a common and well-documented issue among 2013 F-150 owners, and it is unacceptable that Ford has not issued a full recall. Just because the program has expired does not mean the risk has. In my case, the issue escalated to a near-death situation, and I’m extremely concerned that this will happen to someone else—if it hasn't already. I urge NHTSA to investigate this further and hold Ford accountable. There is no reason such a serious safety defect should go unresolved simply because the time window has closed. A dangerous defect is still dangerous, regardless of the date. Please let me know what steps I can take to further assist with this report or if you need additional documentation. I hope this can help prevent future tragedies. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] VIN: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was started and running, there was a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment for approximately 30-seconds. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for maintenance and the technician observed the rattling sound after an oil change and suggested that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated the following day. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The issue involves the rear backup camera system on my 2013 Ford F-150. The camera functions intermittently — sometimes it goes completely black, other times it freezes and does not change image, and occasionally displays a message that says "Camera Unavailable." This happens unpredictably and may change mid-use, even while the vehicle is actively reversing.e component that has failed is the rear-view backup camera system, which appears to be a software-related malfunction (as similar issues have been recalled in newer Ford models). The vehicle and system are available for inspection upon request. This failure presents a significant safety hazard. Because the camera may stop working mid-reverse, it can result in an inability to see behind the vehicle, potentially causing injury to pedestrians (especially children or people in blind spots), damage to property, or accidents in tight spaces. The inconsistent nature of the issue makes it particularly dangerous, as a driver may unknowingly rely on a malfunctioning system.Yes, I contacted the local Ford dealership to report the issue. They acknowledged the possibility of a software or system issue but stated I would need to pay $250 for a diagnostic, which would not go toward the cost of any repair. Due to the high diagnostic fee and the fact that this may be a systemic issue, I have not proceeded further yet. There were no prior warning lamps or alerts before the issue started. The only messages displayed occur at the moment of failure and include "Camera Unavailable" or a blank screen with no visual feed. These symptoms began in April 2025 and have continued sporadically since then.I am submitting this complaint because this is a serious safety concern, and I believe there may be a broader software issue affecting earlier Ford models, similar to those recalled in newer vehicles. As the driver, I should not bear responsibility for a system that is inherently defective and critical to safe vehicle operation.
April 2025, my 2013 F150 downshifting to first gear driving about 45 mph almost causing me a serious accident. I contacted my local Greenbrier Ford in Lewisburg West Virginia after pulling the code from my Hum to see what it was and was informed that there was a consumer appreciation survey that was mailed out between May 9th and May 15th 2019 that letter went to the previous owner of this VIN number and not addressed to me therefore Greenbrier Ford said that the time had passed and I had to pay $1,300.30 out of my pocket for a safety recall. After picking up the vehicle I was going through my paperwork because Greenbrier Ford has done all mechanical work on my vehicle since I purchased it in April of 2019 in July of 2019 they updated the original downshifting to first gear did not inform me nor did they inform me when I went in in May of 2025 and they updated the recall that had expired in October of 2023 regarding the letter that did not come to me as the owner but to the previous owner. I feel as though Ford should have covered this and I am actively working to get a refund on that money as I see there is a new recall out on this downshifting to first gear I would like to know how I could go about submitting for a refund.
My Vehicle has 116,000 miles and the CPU/ ABS Unit is not working. I took it to a Ford Dealership and they said the part alone is $3,000.00 . I feel although the vehicle is 12 years old it has low mileage and I feel that a part of this type should not malfunction. I would like Ford to pay for this repair and how many other F-150’s are out there experiencing this same problem? Could you please investigate this problem. I still have bakes but the ABS and Down hill slope assist is not working. All the brake lights come on ABS, Down Hill Slope Assist, and the brake line. The warning light and bells come on within a few hundred feet when moving. I had the vehicle inspected by a local Ford Dealership and they informed me the ABS unit needs replaced. This has been happening since April of this year 2025.
This incident to my truck has happened twice. First time on [XXX] and this last time on [XXX]. I was driving and all of a sudden the truck downshifted, loss power even when pressing on the gas then again all of a sudden the tach. and the engine will Rev up very high then lunge forward. This last time my truck made a big jerk. This really scared me. I pulled over and called a tow truck because I was afraid to keep driving it. I had it towed to the Ford dealership, Mt. Orab Ford, where I just bought this truck from in Dec.2024. Iam waiting for them to let me know what they have found out. I have only owned thus truck for 3 months. Thes last couple of days I have been finding out information of some problems and recall of this 6 speed transmission. I have also contacted Ford and they have opened a case on my truck. I'm hoping to hear back from the dealership today. I just thought I should report this to you. Please feel free to contact me.Thanks, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My 2013 Ford F-150 started demonstrating operational transmission issues in October 2024. I took the vehicle to a local transmission shop and they advised the issue, a defective molded lead frame in the 6R80 transmission, was actually covered under a Ford safety recall (#19S07) which was issued prior to that date. I subsequently had my truck towed to Sarasota Ford (Sarasota, Florida) where it sat for several months. In January 2025, I was notified my truck was being brought in for evaluation. After several delays (i.e.-dead battery, incorrect recall, etc.) my truck was diagnosed. While the service techs were able to duplicate the transmission failure (stuck in 1st gear, wrench displayed on dash display, speedometer and odometer stop working), they claimed they were not able to obtain the needed diagnostic codes. After several more weeks of attempting to work with Ford's corporate office to find a solution, I colllected my truck from Sarasota Ford on January 31, 2025. Six r, days later, I delivered my truck to Vic's Performance Transmission and Automotive Inc. (1201 11th St E Palmetto FL 34221). Within two to three hours, the staff at Vic's Transmission were able to diagnose my truck as having a faulty transmission molded lead frame. They made the repair within a few days and my vehicle has been operational since then. On February 19, 2025, I mailed a letter outlining greater detail of the aforementioned events and requested assistance from the President of the Ford Customer Service Division. To date, I have not received any correspondence or reply mail from Ford. I am requesting your assistance with addressing this matter. As a loyal Ford customer of 30+ years, I think I deserve corrective action. I attempted to resolve the matter myself, with not response from corporate, I have moved on to my only option. The recall (#19S07) was there, yet Ford failed to act or respond appropriately. I only seek reimbursement of the money spent to repair my truck. Thank you.
The same exact issue as stated in recall 19S07, I was driving on the highway at highway speeds 75-80 miles per hour, and my truck suddenly and instantly down shifted directly to 1st gear. Catastrophic failure, I am extremely lucky that I did not get in an accident or die, and that my engine did not explode from the sudden RPM jump.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH on the highway, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear, causing the rear wheels to lock-up, the speedometer displayed 0 MPH, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that several seconds later the transmission shifted into the correct gear, and the contact was able to resume driving. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that a performance update was required to correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN); as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started and the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact stated that the RPM was at 4,000, but the vehicle failed to move. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, shifted to drive, and depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that the "WRENCH" symbol and check engine warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the speedometer failed to operate while driving. The contact stated that after stopping and turning off and restarting the vehicle, the speedometer gauge functionality returned. The contact stated that the failure was almost constant. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had a speed signal fault and the transmission needed to be serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failures, the vehicle had been repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had been operating normally prior to the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
I was driving at about 65-70mph. The yellow wrench light came on. My spedometer went to zero and my digital screen went blank. I exited the road and restarted the truck. Everything seemed to be operating properly so I got back on the road. I got back up to 65-70mph and then heard a loud bang from the engine and my back tires locked up. I was able to exit the highway safely and called a tow truck. 1. Powertrain, vehicle was repaired 25Mar25. No I do not have any of the old parts. Disposed of by dealership. 2. Easily could have caused an accident. I was very lucky. 3. Dealership confirmed the problem and installed new tech. Adaptive transmission system. 4. We paid cash. As there was no accident or injuries, no police report was necessary. 5. Yellow wrench light appeared on the instrument display, then spedometer went to zero even though I was traveling 65-70mph. Additionally, my main digital display went blank (not the radio/nav display). This was the first time any of these symptoms happened. Although my 2103 is not within the Ford recall window for this identified issue, it is quite clear that this is incredibly similar, if not exactly the same safety problem. We received a letter from Ford some years ago, acknowledging the potential issue, but it said no fix was available at that time. No recall was issued for my 2013 Ford F150 XLT EcoBoost.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the transmission erroneously downshifted causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate, almost causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel. The contact stated that the failure was later self-corrected. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 140,000.
The 2013 f150 has the same problem with the transmission dropping into 1st gear!
My 2013 F-150 suddenly downshifted (without warning) from sixth to first gear at 55 mph on March 21, 2025. My engine was at risk of blowing out because of that incident. Fortunately, no one was tailgating me at the time, also. A "recall repair" was performed at a Ford dealership on June 27, 2019. This vehicle is currently being diagnosed at a local transmission repair shop.
While driving on highway the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear causing my rear tire to lock up and the momentary loss of vehicle control. I deviated from my lane and as the rear of my vehicle skidded in a fishtail type action. Following this incident the vehicle has shifted into first multiple times at lower speeds in conjunction with loss of speed indication.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, the transmission started to upshift and downshift erratically. The wrench warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that while driving, the extension train connector was not shifting into the correct gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a subframe frame connector failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
traveling on highway at speed of 65 to 70 mph and vehicle suddenly downshifted and experienced a loos of power. dashboard went off and I lost control of the vehicle. my safety was put at risk due to loss of power of vehicle. I could not identify anything wrong with the vehicle before it happened.
As I was pulling out onto the road it died blocking a 2 lane road at around 5AM so was pitch black luckily cars where paying attention & saw me I was able to roll it back off the road. Had a mechanic look at it after being towed back home he noticed fuse 27 was melted that is fuse for the fuel pump. Currently awaiting how much it will be to fix.
Truck has been thrown into limp mode multiple times with codes P0720 and P0722 being thrown per OBD scanner. Turning the truck off and on gets rid of the wrench and check engine light and allows the transmission to work normally again. The first two times were on acceleration, months apart. It now does this consistently at highway speeds so I am unable to take it on busy roads, the last time I was on the interstate I was going below traffic speed with hazards on until the exit because the truck slowed from 80 to 40. It couldn't get up the ramp after pulling off so I took side roads home. As far as I can tell this is associated with customer satisfaction program 19N01 and Ford sold these trucks with a faulty lead frame. The truck is 12 yrs 120k miles instead of the 10 yr 100k warranty Ford offered for this part specifically, I don't see how the age makes a difference if Ford has admitted to using faulty parts in the transmission already
While driving my 2013 f150 the driving the truck in drive it automatically starts to shift gears & the truck slams & come to a sudden stop. Thank god nobody was behind me. This truck had a recall in 2019 before I purchased the truck that hasn’t been done. I already emailed a complaint & haven’t heard nothing back. I need my transportation. Can someone please help me. Thank you,
2013 Ford F150 speed control issues. When driving the vehicle will downshift hard. Thankfully I was not driving at higher speeds. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has been confirmed by a Ford dealership. I was told by the service manager that the truck was having the symptoms of the recall 19S07, but that the “recall has expired.” There were no warning lights prior to the problem. A wrench symbol appeared on my dash screen when the truck downshifted. I spoke with Ford customer support and they said there was no recall.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his son was driving at various speeds, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The power train warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the speedometer had decreased to zero(0) MPH while the vehicle was in motion. The contact stated that the failure had progressively worsened, causing the vehicle to fail to shift out of first gear while driving. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, and upon disconnecting the battery temporarily on several occasions, the power train warning light was turned off, and the vehicle operated as needed. I took it to a Ford dealer for repair. The repair was completed and I was charged $1641.25. I questioned why this repair wasn’t covered under safety recall number 24S37.
