HAD THE ENGINE STUDDED AND DROP A CYLINDER,THIS IS AN ECOBOOST MOTOR,THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH WHILE RUNNING ROUGH.IT HAPPENED AS I WAS PASSING A TRACTOR TRAILER ON THE HIGHWAY,AS I GOT AROUND HIM ANOTHER TRAILER WAS COMING ON BEHIND ME,THIS IS WHEN IT DROPPED A CYLINDER,THE TRAILER ALMOST RAN OVER ME.THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK I FOUND OUT ONCE I DID SOME RESEARCH,FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED.I CALLED THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED,AS FAR AS THE STUDDED AND HE SAID BAD GAS KEEP DRIVING IT(59,500 MLS). IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT 61,381,TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY DID A TSB 14-0017 REPROGRAM,THIS WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN,TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 61850MLS,THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO DO IT,I PICKED IT UP AND 20 MILES LATER IT DID IT AGAIN,I GOT IT ON VIDEO THIS TIME SO THERES NO QUESTIONS, SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY KNOW ABOUT IT BUT ARE BLOWING IT OFF, LET ME GET OUTSIDE WARRANTY THEN TAKE A LOOK AT IT.LET ME TELL YOU IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, AND MY FAMILY GETS HURT I WILL OWN FORD !!!! THANKS FOR YOU TIME.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUN ROOF FAILED DUE TO LACK OF UTILIZATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
EXTREME LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING, AND VIOLENT ENGINE VIBRATIONS DURING THE PROCESS, LASTING FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE AND THEN EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL OPERATIONS. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS GIVEN THE SITUATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING ABILITY WAS LOST. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME VERY SLOWLY BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE DIAGNOSED THIS WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. REAR POWER WINDOWS WITH DEFROST OPTION CAUSED WINDOW TO SHATTER WHEN DEFROST WAS TURNED ON. LOUD, ALMOST GUNSHOT NOISE CAN BE HEARD WHEN IT HAPPENED. INTERNET SEARCHES ON THE SUBJECT CONFIRM IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT EITHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION ERRONEOUSLY SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND CAUSED THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK. THE DRIVER STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE POWER SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT ROUGHLY 40 MPH, MY TRUCK ALL OF A SUDDEN JUST SHUT OFF. LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. ONCE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH NO LUCK. IT CONTINUED TO CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START. AFTER WAITING ROUGHLY 10 MINUTES I TRIED TO START IT ONE MORE TIME AND IT STARTED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK HOME WHERE I WAS ABLE TO START INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM. WHILE SEARCHING THE INTERNET, I FOUND "TSB 15-0137" FROM FORD AS TO THE POSSIBLE PROBLEM. TO MY AMAZEMENT IT WAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I HAD HAD. THE FACT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN, A LOSS OF POWER STEERING, AND A LOSS OF POWER BRAKES AND IT'S NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL, ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT IT COULD CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE, IS MORE THAN DISTURBING.
SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT APPEARS ON DASH, AND THEN STEERING ASSIST FAILS COMPLETELY. VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER, WENT STRAIGHT AND ALMOST HIT A CYCLIST. ON A CORNER, CYCLIST TO MY RIGHT, TRUCK WANTED TO GO STRAIGHT. HAD TO BRAKE VERY HARD TO AVOID HITTING THEM.
FORD IS AWARE THAT ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE FUSE CONTROLLING THE FUEL POINT EVENTUALLY MELTS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE ORIGINAL LOCATION (7) IN THE FUSE BAR, IS TO WEAK TO HANDLE THE LOAD GOING TO THE FUSE. ULTIMATELY AND AT A POSSIBLE UNTIMELY TIME AND LOCATION, IT KILLS THE FUEL POINT CAUSING POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING NON CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INDEPENDENTLY AND HAD TO BE PARKED ON THE MEDIAN OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTO SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A LEAD FRAME (TRANSMISSION RELATED) FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,500.
AFTER STARTING FROM A STOP SIGN, ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE POWER STEERING FAILED, A FAIL WAS ANNUNCIATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, THE ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING. DROVE ABOUT 400 FEET TO A SAFE SPOT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND PARKED THE TRUCK. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED THE DRIVER STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED NORMALLY. TOWED THE TRUCK TO A GARAGE TO HAVE IT CHECKED. 78, 700 MILES ON TRUCK
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW DEFROST CAUSED THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. THE ONLY THING HOLDING IT TOGETHER IS THE ANTI SHATTER COATING ON THE WINDOW. THIS IS PART OF THE SLIDING REAR WINDOW BUT ONE OF THE FIXED NONE MOVING GLASS. REMOTE START WAS USED AND THE TEMP WAS 24 DEG F. THE TRUCK WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER.
I HAVE NOTICED A FEATURE ON NEWER VEHICLES WHICH I BELIEVE IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN. THE FEATURE INVOLVES AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION OF THE DASH LIGHTS WHICH LEADS DRIVERS TO BELIEVE THEIR HEADLIGHTS ARE ON WHEN, IN FACT, THEY MAY NOT BE. I SEE AN INORDINATELY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES DRIVING WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED AT DUSK AND BELIEVE THIS FEATURE COULD BE THE CAUSE FOR AT LEAST SOME OF THESE. HAD A FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WITH NO WARNING INDICATORS OR TELL TELL SIGNS OF IMMINENT FAILURE WHILE TRAVELLING. EVIDENT WHILE TURNING AND DIFFICULTY INCREASED AS SPEED WAS LOWERED.

MODEL YEAR 2009-2014 F150'S HAVE AN ISSUE WITH FUSE 27 UNDER THE HOOD GETTING HOT AND MELTING. FUSE 27 IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS CAUSES COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING OR A NO START SITUATION. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT IN MY MIND IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. IF THE FUEL PUMP STOPS, YOU LOSE ALL POWER NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, EVEN IF IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS COULD ALSO BE A FIRE HAZARD IF THE WIRING GETS HOT ENOUGH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 50 DEGREES, THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES. THE CONTACT HEARD A BANGING SOUND AND THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT PROBABLY HAD A CHIP IN THE WINDOW, WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGE WITH THE TEMPERATURE CHANGE. THE FAILURE WAS UNDER REVIEW. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,430.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY FORD F150 TRUCK 2013 WAS PURCHASED IN 2014 BRAND NEW. IN 2017 JANUARY I HAD THE SPARKS PLUGS CHANGED AND NOW AGAIN IN APRIL 2017 MY MECHANIC HAS SAID THAT THE SPARKS PLUG NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. I BELIEVE AND GATHERING FROM WHAT MY MECHANICS IS SAYING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COIL? WHICH IS WHY THE SPARKS PLUG IN BLACK FOR THE SECOND TIME. THIS ALL STARTED FROM A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES THE TRIED FLUSHING THE BREAKS AND SAME THING THAN THEY LOOKED INTO THE ENGINE AND CHANGED THE SPARKS PLUG (JAN) NOW IN APRIL SAME ISSUE. NEED HELP THIS IS COSTING ME MONEY.
I EXPERIENCED A CONDITION NOTED IN FORD TSB: ASI-32166 "SOME VEHICLES, WITH TURBOCHARED GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION ENGINES, WILL EXHIBIT FLASHING MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, AN INTERMITTENT STUMBLE AND/OR MISFIRE DURING HARD ACCELERATION DURING EXTREME HUMID OR DAMP CONDITIONS." WHILE DRIVING AT A RELATIVELY STEADY 55-60 MPH (ON A RAINY AFTERNOON), I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR DOWN IN AN EFFORT TO OVERTAKE A VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY, THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHIMMY, AND I STARTED TO LOSE POWER. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE ANY MORE, I PROMPTLY EXITED THE INTERSTATE, PARKED, SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE IN AN EFFORT TO ALLOW IT TO "RESET". WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE TRUCK RAN FINE. I WAS (THANKFULLY) UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE SCENARIO ON THE REMAINDER OF MY DRIVE HOME. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.

THE CONTACT NOTICED EXCESSIVE SMOKE UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FRAGMENT OF A FRACTURED PISTON ON THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,811.
TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED APPROXIMATELY 40-50 MPH CAUSING CARS FOLLOWING TO BRAKE SEVERELY TO AVOID COLLISION. TRANSMISSION ALSO INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO ENGAGE IN DRIVE WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC LEAVING VULNERABLE TO COLLISION WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC.
I WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ON A DOWNTOWN STREET, WHEN THE TRUCK SUDDENLY CUT OFF, LOOSING SOME BRAKING AND STEERING. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART. I PUSHED IT OUT OF THE TRAVEL LANES AND HAD IT TOWED TO MY FORD DEALER. THE DEALER FINDS A BURNT FUSE RECEPTACLE FOR THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP. THEN I DISCOVER THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, CREATED A REPAIR KIT, BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY OWNERS THIS IS HAPPENING. I WONDER, IF THE FUEL PUMP WIRING IS GETTING HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THE FUSE HOLDER, BUT NOT BLOWING THE FUSE, DOESN'T THIS CAUSE A PROBLEM, WHY ISN'T THE FUSE BLOWING?. IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE A FAULTY DESIGN AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, FROM FAILING TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER, OR THE REASON THE FUSE IS GETTING HOT, SHOWS UP AND STARTS MELTING THE WIRING TO THE FUEL PUMP. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED TO FIX THIS FAULTY DESIGN OR AT LEAST CONTACT THE OWNERS SO THEY COULD HAVE IT FIXED BEFORE THIS HAPPENS. FORDS FIX WAS TO REROUTE THE CIRCUIT TO ANOTHER STYLE FUSE, SO THEY KNOW, THE ORIGINAL DESIGN WILL NOT CARRY THIS CIRCUIT. *TR
THE BACK DOORS WILL LOCK AND U CAN'T UNLOCK THEN. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A COUPLE YEARS. I'VE HAD BOTH BACK DOORS LOCK ON ME FOR 3 DAYS I COULD NOT OPEN EITHER. THAN THEY UNLOCK. I STILL HAVE THE RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCKED . SAFETY CONCERNS IF YOU WERE INVOLED IN A CRASH AND HAD PASSENGERS IN THE BACK THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. I NEVER KNOW WHEN THEY WILL UNLOCK

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE WINDOW, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
1ST OCCURRENCE I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN, MODERATE TRAFFIC AND I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WAS ROCK SOLID AND I COULD BARELY SLOW THE VEHICLE WITH BOTH FEET PRESSING AS HARD AS I COULD AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THEN WHEN I RESTARTED SEVERAL MINUTES LATER, THE ISSUE WENT AWAY. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, I RECEIVED THE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR AT THE LOCAL DEALER. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THE BOOSTER RECALL REPAIR I HAD THE SAME ISSUE ON A RURAL ROAD NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY WITH ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ISSUE STILL OCCURRING. THE FORD DEALER SAID IT NEEDED THE VACUUM PUMP REPLACED SO I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD, THEY CHARGED APPROXIMATELY $360 FOR THE REPAIR. YESTERDAY, AFTER TURNING OFF OF A RURAL ROAD TO A MORE DEVELOPED SHOPPING AREA, I LOST BRAKING FUNCTION WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO DECELERATE. I AGAIN PARKED THE VEHICLE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES, THE BRAKES WERE WORKING AGAIN.I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO HAVE THIS DIAGNOSED AGAIN IN 2 DAYS. THANK GOODNESS MY THIS HASN'T OCCURRED WHILE TOWING MY BOAT. THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING AND ALWAYS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ONLY ONCE DID THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON BEFORE LOSS OF BRAKING. THE ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR WHILE TURNING. *TR
TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE UPON ACCELERATION DUE TO FAULTY THROTTLE BODY- WHILE PULLING ONTO MAIN HIGHWAY WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 50 MPH, TRUCK STALLED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AVOID A REAR END COLLISION. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN TWO DAYS AND PRODUCED AN OBD CODE ON THE THIRD OCCURRENCE. I TURNED THE TRUCK INTO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR FORD IN THE MODEL YEARS PRIOR TO 2013, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY A RECALL.
MY DEFROSTER WAS TURNED ON THIS MORNING. I GOT IN MY VEHICLE 10 MINUTES LATER AND THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED INTO A SPIDER WEB CRACK. I LOOKED ONLINE AND HAVE OVER 32 PAGES OF PEOPLE COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE. INSURANCE COMPANY AND WARRANTY WILL NOT BE COVERED.
THE WEATHER WAS APPROXIMATELY 25-29 DEGREES F. I REMOTE STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT RAN FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES BEFORE I GOT IN THE TRUCK TO DRIVE. I DROVE ABOUT 100 FEET AND HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG. I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT MY DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THAT SOMETHING HIT IT, SO I GOT OUT AND LOOKED AND THERE WERE NO CHIPS OR A SPOT WHERE THE CRACK STARTED. THE WINDOW JUST BROKE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAVE A REAR SLIDING WINDOW WITH DEFROST. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED INSIDE OF THE CITY, JUST A LITTLE WAY FROM MY HOUSE.
IN JAN 2017 AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE CAUSED VEHICLE TO 'STALL' AND ENTER "LIMP HOME" MODE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65MPH. THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED, SHUTTERED & STUMBLED INTO "LIMP HOME" MODE WITH THE WRENCH SYMBOL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. DEALER REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IN JAN 2017. THE VEHICLE STARTED EXHIBITING SIMILAR BUT LESS SEVERE PROBLEMS (SPUTTER & STUMBLE/HESITATION) IN JULY 2017, AND IS INCREASING IN FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY THROUGH NOW. CALLED THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN OR SYSTEMIC PROBLEM, BUT IT IMPACTS DRIVABILITY AND SAFETY, ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING A TRAILER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED MORE THAN TWICE AND THE WRENCH ICON WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM WAS NOT CLOSED AND WAS FAULTY INTERNALLY. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED SERVICE CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13N03 TO ADDRESS THE REPAIR THAT WAS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN MODELS. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
AT TIMES MY 2013 F-150 WOULD KILL AND OTHER TIMES WOULD BE NON RESPONSIVE AT IDLE WHILE TRAVELING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS WHILE I WAS TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE, WHILE MERGING ONTO THE 70MPH INTERSTATE THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER AFTER DRIVING OVER AN UNEVEN AREA OF ASPHALT; HOWEVER 3-4 SECONDS LATER THE THROTTLE RESPONSE RETURNED TO NORMAL. WEEKS GO BY AND I AM TRAVELING ACROSS 22 MILE CAUSEWAY BRIDGE WHICH HAS NO SHOULDERS, AS I AM ACCELERATING TO PASS A CAR THE TRUCK STALLS, NO THROTTLE RESPONSE, WITHIN A FEW SECONDS IT IS BACK RUNNING NORMAL. THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AFTER FOR 30 SECONDS TO A MINUTE THEN WENT OFF. I HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED AND BOTH TESTED FINE. THE TRUCK RUNS FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THEN IT STALLS AGAIN WHILE MERGING ON THE INTERSTATE OR WHILE PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE.THE LAST TIME I WAS DRIVING HOME IN A HEAVY RAIN STORM AT NIGHT BUSY AREA OF INTERSTATE AND IT COMPLETELY STALLS IN PANIC I AM PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR HOPING I CAN MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER CARS BEHIND ME SLIDING ALL OVER THE ROAD TRYING TO AVOID HITTING ME AND MY FAMILY; WE ARE FINALLY SAFE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, THE TRUCK WOULD TURN OVER BUT WOULD NOT START, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND OBD CODES P0201, P0202...., ACTUALLY A CODE SAYING OPEN CIRCUIT FOR EVERY INJECTOR. CALLED A WRECKER SERVICE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSES THE PROBLEM AS FUEL PUMP FUSE HAS MELTED THE CONNECTION IN THE FUSE PANEL. ITS A" FORD TSB-15-0137 " FORD EVEN SELLS THE PART TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. HOW CAN A COMPANY ACKNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM BECAUSE HEY SPECIFICALLY MADE ANOTHER PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I HAD TO PAY THE TOW SERVICE, RENTAL CAR, AND THE COST OF PARTS AND LABOR, FOR A PROBLEM THAT AS I GOOGLED TSB-15-0137 A LOT OF 2013 FORD F150 OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. *TR

Vehicle down shifts on its own at various speeds causing a major jerk in the vehicle. ACcording to dealer this is called lead transmission which sounds like Ford is aware of issue but isn't doing anything about it. Vehicle accelerates rapidly from stop or idle on its own. Instrument panel goes dead except RPM guage.
WITHOUT WARNING, VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS AT ANY SPEED, FROM 6TH GEAR TO 2ND GEAR LOCKING UP ALL 4 TIRES AND SCREECHING TO A 60 MPH SLOWDOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY 5 NORTHBOUND. OCCURRED AT LEAST 10 TIMES AT 70 MILES PER HOUR AND THEN AGAIN AT 30 MILES PER HOUR IN NOVATO ON A CITY STREET BEFORE TAKING TO AUTHORIZED FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR 4 WEEKS AND DETERMINED A WIRING LEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. OF COURSE, THIS IS NOT COVERED BY ANY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED AS WELL AS ANY OTHER VEHICLE AROUND US. I FOUND THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE IN SEVERAL INSTANCES ON THE INTERNET. KNOW ISSUE.
AT APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES MY TRUCK WOULD OCCASIONALLY MAKE A RATTLING SOUND IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE. OVER TIME IT GOT WORSE, I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY A LOSE COVER, OR A COMPONENT SUCH AS A WATER PUMP WAS FAILING AND IT WOULD BE HARD TO KNOW WHICH ONE IT WAS UNTIL IT FAILED COMPLETELY. SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. TIME PASSED, MILAGE WENT UP AND THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. I STARTED RESEARCHING THE ISSUE MYSELF AND REALIZED IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN AND PHAZERS. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE AND IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ECOBOOST TRUCK FROM 2011-2016 MODELS AND IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS VERY EARLY IN THE VEHICLES LIFE(AROUND 50K MILES). APPARENTLY IT IS DUE TO THE EXCESSIVELY LONG TIMING CHAIN AND WEAK PHAZERS.
2013 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE WATER PUMP. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE WATER PUMP FAILED AT 60,000 MILES. THE BATTERY BECAME LOW AT 65,000. THE GUAGES WERE ILLUMINATED EVEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE FAILURE WAS WITH THE SWITCH IN THE SHIFTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. UPDATED 11/15/2017*JS
RADIO STOPS WORKING CAUSING THE HANDS FREE PHONE, CLOCK, AND EVERYTHING ON THE MICROSOFT SYNC CONTROL PANEL TO STOP WORKING. FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS STATIONARY. DEALER SUGGESTED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TO RESET EVERYTHING WHICH WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE RIM CAUSED THE TIRE TO BE BLOWN OUT. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE TIRE AND WAS TAKEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT ON. CODE ERROR OF P2112. NOBLE FORD SERVICE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY. THIS PART IS NOT WARRANTY I FOUND OUT. IT SHOULD BE AS I FIND IT COULD FAULT AND LEAVE YOU IN A LIMP MODE. NOT GOOD. NOBLE FORD CHARGE $ 338.41 TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY. OUCH.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT WAS 5 AM AND DARK, FRIDAY DEC 23RD, SO I DROVE TO A LIT PARKING LOT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. I NOTICED THE REAR GLASS BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS SHATTERED. IT WAS AROUND 30F. THERE ARE A LOT OF INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING WITH FORD PICKUPS.
JUST BOUGHT MY TRUCK AND I AUTO STARTED IT WITH DEFROST SET TO AUTO. I GOT IN AND HEARD A LOUD POP ONLY TO SEE MY WINDOW SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT IT. TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY WONT COVER IT. I GOT ONLINE AND SAW HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. WHAT IF MY KIDS WERE IN MY TRUCK!
STARTED THE TRUCK TO DEFROST WINDOWS ON A COLD MORNING. BOTH THE FRONT DEFROSTER AND REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WERE TURNED ON. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES BEFORE I STARTED DRIVING TO WORK. ABOUT 5 MINUTES INTO MY DRIVE I HEARD A LOUD POP. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED. IT WAS STILL DARK OUTSIDE AT THE TIME AND WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY WORK, THE PARKING LOT LIGHTS REVEALED THAT MY BACK DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. I DID NOTICE ON MY DRIVE THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER HAD TURNED OFF WHICH IT NORMALLY DOESN'T BUT I DIDN'T PUT IT TOGETHER THAT THE POP AND THE DEFROSTER WERE CONNECTED. *TR
REMOTE STARTED TRUCK, WARMED UP APPROX. 10 MIN., ENTERED TRUCK, PUT IN DRIVE, MOVED APPROX. 50' FROM DRIVE WAY, HEARD BOOM NOISE BEHIND ME, SOUNDED LIKE AN ARESOL CAN BLEW UP INSIDE MY TOOL BOX, DISCOVERED DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD EXPLODED. I LIVE IN RURAL AREA WITH ROCK DRIVEWAY, TRUCK WAS LEVEL IN A STRAIGHT LINE. (12/18/2016). HAD SAME ISSUE WITH 2010 F-150, RIGHT SIDE REAR WINDOW, CONTACTED LOCAL DEALERSHIP, FORD ENDED UP GOING 1/2 ON REPAIR. THIS TIME TRUCK WAS TRAVELING 70MPH ON INTERSTATE HWY. ONLY COMMON DENOMINATORS I COULD SAY ARE, BOTH HAPPENED ON COLD DAYS, BOTH IN THE 30"S,BOTH APPEARED TO BE CAUSED BY HEATED WINDOW DEFROST, HEAT WAS ON DURING BOTH GLASS SHATTERINGS. NO PERSONAL INJURIES EITHER TIME. DON'T HAVE DATE FOR THIS INCIDENT.
TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AND HEARD LOUD POP AND BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME.
ON THIS VEHICLE, I RARELY USE 4WD, EXCEPT IN WINTER CONDITIONS. I COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF 4WD LOW BACK INTO 4X2, EVEN WHILE THE FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND IN NEUTRAL. I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE OVER A SMALL PILE OF SHOVELED SNOW AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY ENTERING A CITY STREET AND I SHIFTED IT INTO 4WD LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL AND THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED. IT MADE A HORRIBLE GRINDING AND THEN A "THUD" FROM THE POWERTRAIN AND LURCHED FORWARD. AFTER I WAS OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY I DECIDED TO TAKE IT OUT OF 4WD LOW, SO I STOPPED, AND WITH THE BRAKE APPLIED, I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND THEN SELECTED 4WD HIGH. THE VEHICLE ADVISED TO PULL FORWARD SO I SHIFTED TO DRIVE AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE AND HAD A VERY HIGH RPM. AND THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED CLIMBING. I THEN SHIFTED BACK TO NEUTRAL AND THEN TRIED REVERSE. SAME RESULT, I GOT THE SAME, NO MOVEMENT HIGH RPM AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GEARS STARTED TO GRIND HORRIBLY! I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED BACK TO NEUTRAL. I EVEN ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT TO 4X2, BUT STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. IT SEEMED AS IT WAS STUCK IN BETWEEN GEARS. I THEN HAD TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED THE VEHICLE FORWARD, AS THIS IS WHAT THE ONBOARD SYSTEM WAS SAYING. IT WANTED YOU TO PULL FORWARD, BUT NOTHING WAS ENGAGED TO LET YOU PULL FORWARD. NO OTHER OPTION THAN TO PUSH. AFTER A FEW TRIES OF THIS PUSHING AND SHIFTING METHOD, IT FINALLY DECIDED TO CATCH AND IT SLAMMED BACK INTO 4WD HIGH, BUT IT ALSO SOUNDED LIKE THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK WAS BEING RIPPED APART AT THAT POINT. IT WAS IN GEAR FOR ME AND MOVING AGAIN THOUGH, AND I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT IT BACK INTO 4X2 IMMEDIATELY. *TR
