MULTIPLE TIMES NOW, MY TRUCK WILL DOWNSHIFT AND SEND THE RPMS OVER 4500 THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO MISFIRE, THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL BLINK AND THE TRUCK WILL STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN ITS SPEED AND ANY ACCELERATION IS EXTREMELY DIMINISHED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I FREQUENTLY DRIVE ON RURAL 2-LANE(ONE IN EACH DIRECTION) HIGHWAYS AND FIND THIS PROBLEM SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTS MY ABILITY TO SAFELY PASS SLOWER VEHICLES. IT HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE ENOUGH TIMES THAT I CANNOT DEPEND ON THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE WHEN I MOVE INTO ONCOMING LANES OF TRAFFIC. AT 30,000 MILES THE ENGINE DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK. WITHIN A MONTH OF HAVING THE LEAK REPAIRED AT THE DEALER, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED A MAJOR MISFIRE EVENT CAUSING THE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT TWO IGNITION COILS WENT BAD AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. THIS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE SPARK PLUGS FOR WHICH I WAS CHARGED APPROX $250 BUT WAS ABLE TO NEGOTIATE IT DOWN TO $140. WITHIN A MONTH OF GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK, THE VEHICLE STARTED DISPLAYING THE MISFIRE SYMPTOMS WITH DIMINISHED ACCELERATION AND BLINKING ENGINE LIGHT. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS VEHICLE'S PERFORMANCE!
THERE IS AN UN-NORMAL VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. I THINK THE ROTORS ARE BAD.
USED REMOTE START ON MY PICKUP IN BELOW FREEZING WEATHER AT ROUGHLY 28. CAME OUT TO DRIVE TO WORK AND REAR DRIVER SIDE BACK WINDOW HAD SPIDER WEB CRACKS THROUGHOUT THE GLASS.
THE WARNING LIGHT FOR LOW BRAKE FLUID CAME ON WHILE SLOWLY MOVING IN TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY PARKED AS THERE WAS A SAFE PLACE TO DO SO. BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR WAS CHECKED AND HAD VERY LITTLE FLUID. BRAKES WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND THE BRAKE FLUID HAD LEAKED BACK INTO THE BOOSTER AND BOTH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WAS FORTUNATE NO ONE WAS HURT OR ANY CRASH RESULTED BUT I TRULY HOPE SOMETHING IS DONE BEFORE WE HEAR OF SOMEONE BEING HURT.
WHILE DRIVING TRUCK ABOUT 1/2 MILE AWAY FROM MY HOUSE I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN. TO FLOOR AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE STOP. I GOT SCARE AND MADE A U TURN TO HEAD BACK HOME AND THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LOW CAME ON I PULLED INTO A AUTO ZONE PARTS STORE OPEN THE HOOD AND SAW THE BRAKE RESERVOIR WAS ABOUT 1/4 " FLUID IN THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR.. I WENT INTO THE AUTO ZONE STORE AND PURCHASE A BOTTLE OF DOT 3 32OZ BRAKE FLUID. I POUR IT IN THE RESERVOIR AND PUMP THE BRAKES. THEN CHECK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE TO CHECK FOR ANY SIGN OF LEAKS AROUND THE BACK PLATE AROUND ALL THE TIRES THE ROTORS AND RIMS AND LINE THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF ANY LEAKS .UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. I CHECKED THE RESERVOIR ONCE AGAIN WAS. LOW AGAIN I POUR MORE BRAKE FLUID INTO IT. I PUMPED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES IT HELD UP SO I PROCESSED BACK HOME. AS A GOT CLOSE TO MY HOME THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CAME BACK ON I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND ALMOST [XXX] ON MYSELF THE BRAKES FAILED ONCE AGAIN ABOUT FIFTY FEET FROM MY HOME I PUMPED THE [XXX] OUT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL IT FINALLY CAME TO A STOP.. I CHECKED THE RESERVOIR ONCE AGAIN IT WAS FREAKING EMPTY I LOOKED UNDER ONCE AGAIN TO LEAKS COULD BE FOUND.. REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE REAR DEFROST WAS ON, IN 35 DEGREE TEMPERATURE. CAR WAS PARKED AND STATIONARY, IN COVERED PARKING UNIT, DRIVEN 10-MILES FROM HOME TO WORK. LOUD BANG HEARD, AND IMMEDIATELY SAW THE SHATTERED GLASS IN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR-VIEW WINDOW. THIS HAS CLEARLY HAPPENED MANY TIMES PRIOR, AND THIS HAS BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO FAULTY DEFROST SYSTEM.
IT SNOWED SOME LAST NIGHT, THIS MORNING I STARTED MY TRUCK AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, BUT THE LIGHT WOULD NOT TURN ON. (I HAVE THE 3 PANEL WINDOW WITH A SLIDING REAR WINDOW IN THE CENTER) AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION ONLINE, I CANNOT CONVINCE MYSELF TO TRY AND USE THE DEFROSTER AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF THE WINDOW EXPLODING. NOW NOT BEING ABLE TO USE THE DEFROSTER IS ALSO CAUSING A VISIBILITY ISSUE WHEN THE WINDOW FOGS UP. IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SWITCH LANES AND MERGE. IT REQUIRES A LOT OF TRUST IN THE SIDE MIRRORS WHICH DO NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH VISIBILITY TO MAKE THE SAFEST DECISIONS WHEN MERGING IN TRAFFIC. MY TRUCK WAS STATIONARY WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GET THE REAR DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER TO TURN ON, AND I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES, INCLUDING SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF AND STARTING IT AGAIN. FORD SHOULD KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON FORUMS AND SEVERAL DEALERS KNOW OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL. FORD WILL NOT COVER PARTS FOR THIS BECAUSE THEY SAY ITS A PART OF THE GLASS, WHICH IS NOT COVERED IN WARRANTY. I AM WRITING THIS IN HOPE TO GET NHTSA TO REVIEW THESE WINDOWS BEFORE MINE MAY IMPLODE AND CAUSE GLASS TO SHATTER ALL OVER THE BACK SEAT WHICH MAY HAVE PEOPLE IN IT WHEN IT COULD OCCUR.
BRAKE PEDDLE GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN TRYING TO STOP. YOU HAVE TO GIVE EXTRA TIME AND PUMP THE BRAKES TO STOP. I HAD THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED AND THE ISSUE GOT WORSE AND THE MECHANIC STATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE AT 48,000 MILES.
ON 03/17/2016 I WAS DRIVING ON ROUTE 287 IN NEW JERSEY IN THE FAST LANE AT SPEEDS AROUND 65 MPH MY TRUCK HAD A LOSS OF POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND THE TRUCK STARTED SHUTTERING REALLY BAD, WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED DOWN THE TRUCK WAS SLOWING DOWN AND THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE HITTING THEIR BRAKES. AFTER ABOUT 2 MINUTES THE TRUCK WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND REMOVED THE AIR DEFLECTOR AND REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE. 7 DAYS LATER I HAD ANOTHER CLOSE CALL ON ROUTE 287 IN NEW JERSEY WHEN MY TRUCK STARTED MISFIRING AND SHUTTERING. AGAIN NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVER CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES OR ALARMS. THE MECHANIC TOOK THE TRUCK FOR A TEST DRIVE USING AN INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM AND FOUND A POWER BALANCE AND CYLINDER #4 MISFIRE. THEY REPLACED #4 COIL AND GAVE THE TRUCK BACK TO ME. 24 HOURS LATER AND ANOTHER CLOSE CALL THE TRUCK IS BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS ANOTHER CYLINDER #4 MISFIRE. THE DEALERSHIP IS BEING VERY HELPFUL AND TRYING EVERYTHING THEY CAN BUT THIS IS AN ENORMOUS SAFETY PROBLEM AND IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT CORRECTED IT CAN TURN INTO A FATAL ENDING.
UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE'S SPEED WAS STUCK AT ABOUT 50 MILES PER HOUR. I COULD TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITH MY BRAKES, I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT THE GEAR IN THE N-POSITION PUMP THE GAS PETAL AND THE ENGINE RPM WENT BACK TO NORMAL. THEN I BUT THE GEAR BACK TO THE D-POSITION AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID, AND NOTICED IT WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT PURCHASED FLUID FROM AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND REFILLED THE BRAKE FLUID; HOWEVER, THE BRAKE FLUID WAS EMPTY AGAIN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
DISAPPEARING BRAKE FLUID. REFILLED 3 TIMES IN A MATTER OF 15 MILES. REFILLED AGAIN AT HOME PUMPED BRAKES THE FLUID IS DRAINING BUT IS NOT FOUND ON THE GROUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WITHOUT WARNING, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES FAILED TO SHUT OFF AND DAMAGED THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR PREMATURELY FAILED. THE PART WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A VERY DANGEROUS HIGHWAY PASS GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN MY ENGINE STALLED AS RANDOM ALARMS STARTED APPEARING ON MY DASHBOARD, THEN MY STEERING LOCKED FROM THE ENGINE BEING OFF. I TRIED THE BEST I COULD TO GET ON THE SHOULDER AS I HAD NO STEERING ABILITY AND I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES FAIRLY HARD. I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE THIS WAS THE ONLY PLACE IN MILES WITH A SHOULDER. ANYWHERE ELSE ON THIS ROAD AND I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIED. WHILE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I SMELLED A TINY BIT OF BURNING PLASTIC WITH NO PROBLEM IN SIGHT. I GOOGLED WHAT HAPPENED ON A SPECIAL FORUM WEBSITE FOR FORD RAPTOR OWNERS AND OTHERS HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN WITH FUSE 27. WHICH IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP. SO I CHECKED THE NUMBER 27 FUSE AND SURE ENOUGH IT HAD MELTED, I ACTUALLY HAD TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE FUSE BOX IN MELTED PIECES WITH PLIERS. THE FUSE MELTED WHILE DRIVING SO THE FUEL PUMP SHUT OFF CAUSING MY ENGINE TO STALL AND STEERING TO LOCK. MANY MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD HIS HAPPEN AND FORD RECOGNIZES IT AS A SERVICE BULLETIN. HOWEVER THIS NEEDS TO BE MORE THEN A SERVICE BULLETIN WHEN SOMEONE'S LIFE COULD BE TAKEN DRIVING THE FREEWAY OR DANGEROUS ROAD. WE WERE LUCKY THERE WAS NO COLLISION, INJURIES, OR FIRE, HOWEVER IT COULD HAVE VERY WELL CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL FIRE AND IF SOMEONE WAS ON A CROWDED FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR A COLLISION IS ALMOST CERTAIN.
DRIVER SIDE TUBO/SUPERCHARGER COOLANT LEAKS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT RAN A RED LIGHT. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT REMAIN FASTENED. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
UPON ENTERING FREEWAY MERGING TRAFFIC I HAD A HARD ACCELERATION .MY TRUCK STUMBLED WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THEN 30 MPH BY THEN THE SEMI WAS ON MY REAR CAUSING A SERIOUS PROBLEM HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER .WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND THE PROBLEM SEAM TO GO AWAY. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES.
REAR WINDOW DOES NOT OPEN AND REAR-DEFROST NO LONGER WORKS. POTENTIAL FOR THE REAR WINDOW TO EXPLODE BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. SERVICE BULLETIN NO. YESTERDAY WHEN I GOT INTO MY TRUCK AND STARTED IT THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKE PEDAL INSTANTLY WENT TO THE FLOOR LEAVING THE TRUCK WITH NO BRAKES. I GOT OUT AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR LEVEL AND IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY BUT, THERE WAS NO LEAKS ANYWHERE, THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO GET FIXED. I DISCUSSED IT WITH JOE AND UPON EXPLORING THIS FURTHER JOE CAME ACROSS THE ATTACHED ARTICLE AND IT TURNS OUT THIS SUDDEN TOTAL LOSS OF BREAKS HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHER F150 TRUCK AND ARE BEING INVESTIGATED.
LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING THEN NO BRAKES WHEN TRAVELING AFTER WORK. BRAKE PEDAL TO FLOOR WITH NO BRAKES. EMERGENCY BRAKE USED TO GET HOME. BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR EMPTY AND NO APPARENT SIGNS OF LEAKAGE. FROM OTHER SITES ON INTERNET THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL LEAKING FLUID TO BOOSTER. FLUID LEVEL NORMAL WHEN CHECKED 3 DAYS PREVIOUS PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR A 1,000 MILE TRIP. WILL TAKE TO FORD DEALER 08MAR16
I WAS SITTING STATIONARY AT A RED LIGHT IN SUGAR LAND, TEXAS. I HAD THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON, AND I HEARD A LOUD "POP", ALMOST LIKE A GUNSHOT. I LOOKED IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR AND SAW MY DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. UPON FURTHER CHECKING, THERE WAS NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE WINDOW. AFTER READING NUMEROUS POSTS ONLINE, IT APPEARS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS OCCURRING. I BELIEVE THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER HEATED THE GLASS TOO MUCH, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. PIECES OF GLASS FELL INTO MY DAUGHTER'S CARSEAT. HAD SHE BEEN SITTING THERE, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED IN GLASS.
3/5/16: AFTER STARTING MY 2013 F150 XLT REMOTELY TO WARM UP, I PROCEEDED TO BACK DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. I HEARD A LOUD POP WHICH STARTLED ME ENOUGH TO STOP THINKING I MAY HAVE HIT SOMETHING (I DID NOT). UPON INSPECTION, I FOUND THE DRIVERS SIDE PORTION OF THE THREE PIECE SLIDING REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON OCCURENCE LINKED TO THE REAR DEFROSTER.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE GOING TOWARDS CHARLOTTE'S SADDLERY, WHICH LUCKILY WAS CLOSE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. I WAS WITHIN A MILE OR TWO WHEN THIS HAPPENED. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN I HEARD A BANG AND SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND I LOST BRAKES. I COULD NO LONGER BRAKE BUT FORTUNATELY WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY SO I JUST DROVE THE MILE TO THE DEALERSHIP VERY SLOWLY KEEPING A BIG DISTANCE FROM ANY CARS.
SHORTLY AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED, NOTHING HIT IT. IT'S LIKE THE DEFROSTER SHORTED AND GOT TOO HOT AND BLEW THE GLASS OUT.
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY FRONT BREAKS AND ROTORS REPLACED 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME BEING WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF PURCHASE OF MY VEHICLE. FORD DID THE FIRST REPLACEMENT FOR FREE, BUT I HAVE PAID FOR THE REST. THE ROTORS SHOW UNUSUAL WEAR AND WARPING EVERY TIME. EVEN WITH NEW ROTORS AND PADS THE BREAKS ARE SQUEEKY AND JERKY. THIS HAS NOT CAUSED ME AN ACCIDENT YET, BUT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES EVERY 20 TO 25 THOUSAND MILES OTHERWISE I FEEL LIKE THEY WOULD HAVE FAILED.
LOSS OF POWER AND SHUDDER AT SPEEDS OF 60+MPH WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO PASS OTHER VEHICLES OR GOING UP HILLS. IN 2014 I PURCHASED A USED 2013 FORD F-150 ECO BOOST TRUCK. ABOUT A MONTH AGO I EXPERIENCED A SHUDDER AND LOSS OF POWER WHEN TRYING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE MPH WAS ABOUT 70+ MILES. SINCE THAT TIME IT HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 60MPH OR HIGHER WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE. IF I GRADUALLY ACCELERATE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN.
MY SON WAS DRIVING TO SCHOOL, NORMAL SPEED, PRESSED THE BRAKES TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT. HE PUSHED THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK HAD NO BRAKES, DID NOT STOP AND SLID IN TO THE PERSON AHEAD OF HIM. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT HIS VEHICLE SUSTAINED OVER $3000 IN DAMAGES. THE PERSON AHEAD OF HIM HAD NO DAMAGES. EVEN NOW, THE BRAKES ARE VERY LIGHT AND YOU HAVE TO PRESS DOWN SUPER HARD. I AM VERY NERVOUS ABOUT HIM OR ANYONE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. STARTED 2 WEEKS AGO IT WAS A COLD 20 DEGREE MORNING AND MY BRAKE LIGHT / PARKING BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON. A LITTLE LATER IT WAS OFF AND THOUGHT IT MUST BE A SWITCH. SHORT WHILE LATER IT WAS ON AND OFF AND ON OVER AND OVER. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AND FOUND IT TO BE BETWEEN THE MAX AND MIN LEVELS. I HAVE PUT MORE IN SINCE THEN. THE TRUCKS BRAKING FOR THE MOST PART SEEMS OK BUT HAVE NOTICED AT TIMES IN TOWN THE PEDAL DOES SINK SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN NORMAL. NOW I HAVE SEE THIS PROBLEM AND IT MAKES SINCE ITS HAVING SYMPTOMS SIMILAR TO WHAT OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING OF. IT IS A 2013 F-150 FX4 3.5 EBOOST. I HOPE FORD TAKES THIS SERIOUS I I'LL BE TAKING THIS TO THE FORD DEALER HERE LOCAL TO ME AND HAVING IT LOOKED AT. THIS PROBLEM MAKES ME NERVOUS DOES FORD EVEN OFFER A UPDATED PART THAT WON'T BREAK DOWN AGAIN IF I HAVE MY VEHICLE FIXED? NOTICED IF I'M PARKED ON. ON A HILL FACING DOWN THE HILL THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF BUT FLAT OR ANY OTHER POSITION LIGHT COMES OFF AND ON ALSO BRAKE FLUID IS DOWN LITTLE BIT AGAIN.

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED SUDDENLY. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN FIFTH GEAR. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO WAIT A MOMENT AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESET THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DISASSEMBLED THE TRANSMISSION AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE. THE MICRO CHIP WAS COVERED IN TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE DEALER DID NOT INDICATE WHY THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED INTERNALLY OR IF THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FRACTURE WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PART WITH A MODIFIED VERSION OF THE MICRO CHIP WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION ALONG WITH A COVER. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE REPAIR WOULD PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,116.
THE BACK GLASS HAS SHATTERED 2 TIMES AND A BURNING SMELL IS APPEARING WHEN I START MY TRUCK. I HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS IN CARSEATS AND IM CONCERNED ! BOTH TIMES MY GLASS SHATTERED I WAS WARMING THE TRUCK IN COLD WEATHER. AND THE BACK DEFROST STILL WORKS WHICH SCARES ME A LITTLE. SOMEONE IS GONNA BE INJURED OR KILLED EVENTUALLY!

3 WEEKS AGO, THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY '13 F150 BEGAN VIBRATING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND DID NOT FEEL LIKE THEY WERE RELEASING AT ALL AFTER BRAKING. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE STILL COOL AND IN ALL CONDITIONS, DRY, SNOW AND RAIN. THE TRUCK HAD BARELY 40K MILES SO I TOOK IT TO BRAKES PLUS AND THEY SAID THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE COMPLETELY FALLING APART; DISINTEGRATING THEY SAID. I HAD THEM INSTALL NEW BRAKES ($275) AND THE VIBRATION WENT AWAY FOR 2 WEEKS, BUT STARTED UP AGAIN. IT COULD BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND APPEARED TO BE KEEPING THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (LARRY H MILLER FORD, LAKEWOOD, CO) WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT USED ABOUT 8 MOS PRIOR. I HAD THE COVERAGE OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 48K MILES. THEY SAID THEY INSPECTED THE BRAKES AND DROVE IT AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, THE VIBRATION IS COMPLETELY GONE NOW AND IT'S BEEN ABOUT 3 WEEKS?? I AM CONVINCED THEY DID SOMETHING TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOW WANT TO TELL ME WHAT THEY FOUND. ESPECIALLY IF IN THE FUTURE THE CALIPERS, MASTER CYLINDER, OR SOMETHING ELSE MAJOR ON THE BRAKES WAS GOING TO FAIL.
INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR DEFROST LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. THEN, LAST NIGHT, THE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 20F. I TURNED REAR DEFROST ON AND THE LIGHT FOR THE DEFROSTER WENT OUT AND WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATER, I HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE BACK AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE STATIONARY WINDOW PANE WAS SHATTERED.

I OWN A 2013 FORD F-150, FX4 ECOBOOST, WHILE DRIVING IN REGULAR CONDITIONS ON A TROPICAL WEATHER, A FEW MINUTES AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER I HEARD A LOUD NOISE, LIKE A GUNSHOT, THEN REALIZE THE REAR (DRIVER SIDE) WINDOW OF MY TRUCK HAD SHATTERED SPONTANEOUSLY. UPON INSPECTION THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF IMPACT ON EITHER SIDE. I WAS REALLY CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAD A TODDLER SITTING ON A CAR SEAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACKSEAT. AFTER LOOKING UP IN THE INTERNET I FOUND DOZENS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE MOST OF THEM WITH A NEGATIVE RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERS. AS OF NOW I'M TRYING TO WORK THE ISSUE OUT WITH AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP IN MY LOCAL AREA. BUT IF I GET A NEGATIVE RESPONSE, I'LL HAVE TO GO THRU MY INSURANCE AND PAY A PREMIUM INCREASE SINCE THE COST OF REPAIRS ARE AROUND $1,200.00. FORD AND THE WINDOW MANUFACTURER CARLITE SHOULD DEFINITELY LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AND RESPOND FOR THIS FAULT.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ENGINE CONTINUED TO STALL AFTER DEALERSHIP REPLACED THROTTLE BODY UNIT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TWO UNITS FAIL WITHIN A SEVEN MONTH PERIOD, THAT CAUSED THE ACCELERATION TO SHUT DOWN. WHEN IT INCIDENTS OCCURRED, HE WAS FORCED TO COAST TO A SAFE LOCATION TO RE-START THE VEHICLE. *JB
DRIVERS SIDE SECTION OF THE REAR SLIDING GLASS (THERE ARE 3 SECTIONS OF GLASS) HAS IMPLODED INTO HUNDREDS OF SMALL PIECES OF GLASS. THE GLASS IS STILL HOLDING IN PLACE, BUT IT WOULD NOT TAKE MUCH TO MAKE IT COLLAPSE. NOTHING HIT THE GLASS OR PUT IT IN A BIND. NORMAL STREET/HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY/PARKED WHEN THE IMPLOSION OCCURRED.
THERE WAS A LOUD "BOOM" WHILE PARKED IN MY TRUCK. AFTER EXITING VEHICLE TO INSPECT. THE DRIVER'SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SPIDERED. IT IS A POWER SLIDING REAR WITH REAR DEFROST. IT WAS 5:30 A.M. ON 2/11/2016. TEMP THAT MORNING WAS 15F. I PARK BETWEEN TWO BUILDINGS, AND THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE AT WORK YET. VANDALISM CAN BE RULED OUT. SEEMS TO ME TO BE AN OBVIOUS DEFECT IN CONSTRUCTION, OR DESIGN. I AM GLAD I WAS PARKED22 AND NOT GOING 70 MPH ON AN EXPRESSWAY. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH TRUCK IN MOTION AND/OR A PASSENGER RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT.
A SHORT IN THE REAR DEFROSTER HAS CAUSED MY WINDOW TO SHATTER. THIS HAPPENED FOR NO REASON CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND TEMP WAS ABOUT 6 DEGREES F.
REMOTE STARTED THE VEHICLE, AS IS DONE MOST MORNINGS. AFTER ABOUT A 10 MINUTE WARM UP, I LEAVE FOR WORK. TRAVELLING DOWN THE ROAD, THE TEMPERATURE IS 6 DEGREES AND I NOTICE WHAT LOOKS LIKE ICE ON THE DRIVER SIDE PANE OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD. I ATTEMPT TO TURN ON THE DEFROST AND IT DOESN'T WORK. I THEN REALIZE THIS PANE OF GLASS IS ACTUALLY SHATTERED AND IT IS NOT ICE AS THOUGHT BEFORE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I SEE THAT THIS IS SOMEWHAT OF A COMMON PROBLEM. I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM, BUT ASSUME IT MUST BE RELATED TO THE DEFROSTER AS I AM SURE IT IS AUTOMATIC WITH THE REMOTE START BELOW CERTAIN TEMPERATURES.
VEHICLE HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. THE POWER ASSIST OCCASIONALLY QUITS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, CREATING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING HESITATION UPON ACELLERATION AND IS MAKING NOISES AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016 BE FIXED AND AT FIRST IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK IT BACK ON FEBRUARY 16, 2016 BC I HAD TO HAVE A FORD RENTAL PER FORD. THE TRUCK WAS REPAIRED BUT THEN IT WASN'T COVERED PER FORD AND I HAD TO PAY OVER $400 TO GET IT FIXED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND IT HAD TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THIS TIME IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I JUST GOT MY TRUCK BACK ON APRIL 11,2016 AND TODAY ON APRIL 14, 2016 THE LIGHT IS BACK ON. I AM WAITING ON A CALL BACK FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT.
PROBLEM WITH MASTER CYLINDER POWER BOOSTER PUMP, VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP WHILE MOVING AT SHORT DISTANCE AND LOW SPEED 15 MILES OR LESS HIGHWY AND CITY. VEHICLE STOPS WHILE MOVING AT LONG DISTANCE AND HIGH SPEED 15 MILES OR MORE HIGHWAY AND CITY. BRAKE PEDALS VIBRATE AND GO TO BOTTOM AT LOW SPEEDS 15 MILES OR LESS HIGHWAY AND CITY.

AFTER ARRIVING AT HOME, I OPENED THE BACK DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO RETRIEVE MY WORK BELONGINGS, THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE PANEL OF THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED AND COMPLETELY SPIDER-WEBBED. THE TEMPERATURE AT THE TIME OF THIS OCCURRENCE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE REMOTE START SETTING FOR THE REAR DEFROSTER IS SET TO AUTOMATIC, SO I DON'T KNOW IF IT CAME ON DURING THE REMOTE START. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IDLING AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE IS A 2013 FORD F-150 FX4 WITH 27,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH REAR DEFROSTER AND A POWER REAR WINDOW.

PICKUP TRUCK HAS SLIDING REAR WINDOW WITH REAR DEFROST. AFTER USING DEFROST FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITH A LOUD POP. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT THE TIME.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
