REAR WINDOW ELECTRIC DEFROST WAS ACTIVATED BY FACTORY REMOTE START SYSTEM. APPARENT DEFROSTER OVERHEAT OR SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSED THE LEFT PANEL OF THE THREE PANEL SLIDING WINDOW TO EXPLODE, RESULTING IN A LOUD BAND AND SPIDER WEBBED PANEL RESULTING IN GLASS SHARDS IN MY CHILD'S BOOSTER SEAT. FORD DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE AT THE LOCAL DEALER OR FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AT TIME OF EVENT.
I PURCHASED MY 2013 FORD F150 THREE WEEKS AGO, CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM MOUNTAIN VIEW FORD IN CHATTANOOGA, TN. WHILE PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THIS MORNING, THE TRUCK WAS ENGAGED IN 4X4H MODE,(DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER) IT STARTED MAKING A TERRIBLE POPPING NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE FRONT LEFT TIRE WAS COMING OFF AS I WAS TURNING TO THE RIGHT. I PULLED OVER AND LET THE CAR IDLE FOR A WHILE. I THEN KEPT DRIVING AND WHEN GOING UP A STEEP HILL IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, SO I PULLED OVER AT A GAS STATION AND THE LOUD POPPING/BANGING NOISE HAPPENED AGAIN AS I WAS TURNING LEFT THIS TIME. IT WAS SO LOUD IT STARTLED THE CUSTOMERS WHO WERE FUELING THEIR VEHICLES. SOUNDED LIKE A PIECE OF METAL SNAPPING IN TWO. IS THIS RELATED TO NHTSA # 10058199? OR FORD TSB 44964? I HAD TO DISENGAGE THE 4X4H AND PUT MY TRUCK BACK IN 4X2H A TO MAKE THE NOISE STOP. WE HAD ICY ROADS THIS MORNING, WHICH IS THE REASON I PURCHASED A 4X4 TO BEGIN WITH.
I WAS DRIVING ON SNOW PACKED ROADS WITH THE "AUTO 4X4" ENGAGED, ABOUT 60MPH, THE ORANGE "MECHANICAL WRENCH" APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. ELECTRIC STILL ON, I HAD NO MOBILITY. I STOPPED, PLACED TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND RESTARTED VEHICLE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MY DEALER HAS NOT SEEN TRUCK AS OF THIS WRITING, AS THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT WILL BE 5 DAYS FROM NOW.
REMOTE STARTED MY VEHICLE. GOT IN VEHICLE AND HEARD A LOUD BANG. UPON INSPECTION I DISCOVERED MY LEFT REAR WINDOW PANEL WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME AND STILL IN PARK. NOT SURE OF ROOT CAUSE. DID RESEARCH PROBLEM AND FOUND SEVERAL SIMILAR ISSUES. MOST WERE DETERMINED TO BE RELATED THE THE DEFROST SYSTEM. APPARENTLY FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT TO DATE HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL NOR HAVE THEY ISSUED A BULLETIN.
THE 2013 FORD F-150 WILL INTERMITTENTLY RIDE WITH THE BRAKES ENGAGED. WHEN LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL IT WILL QUICKLY COME TO A STOP (BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND URBAN ROADS). BRAKE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE (@ 55,000 MILES) AND I HAVE NOTICED A CONSIDERABLE DROP IN THE CALCULATED MILES PER GALLON SINCE OBSERVING THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THEY DID NOT HOOK IT UP TO ELECTRONICALLY TO PERFORM AN ADVANCE DIAGNOSIS. THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT ACTS UP AGAIN. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET THE VEHICLE TO "DISENGAGE THE BRAKES" WHILE DRIVING IS TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP, ENGAGE 4WD, DRIVE A FEW HUNDRED FEET, THEN PLACE THE TRUCK BACK INTO 2WD. THIS WOULD NORMALLY RESET THE BRAKING. APPEARS TO HAPPEN IN COLDER TEMPERATURES. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRAKE PEDAL OCCASIONALLY (EVERY SIX MONTHS) WILL HAVE A GRINDING PULSATING VIBRATION LASTING SEVERAL MINUTES. THE BRAKES DID NOT GO OUT BUT IT FEELS AS IF METAL ON METAL IS GRINDING WHICH CREATES AN UNUSUAL AND ALARMING CIRCUMSTANCE.
TOTAL BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE AS I WAS DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS. WITHOUT WARNING, WITHIN ONE BLOCK VEHICLE WENT FROM HAVING FULLY FUNCTIONAL BRAKES TO TOTAL BRAKE LOSS. PREVIOUS TO FAILURE, VEHICLE EXHIBITED NO HANDLING ISSUES, SOUNDS, OR SYMPTOMS TO INDICATE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN I TOUCHED THE BRAKES. WITHOUT WARNING A LOUD, HIGH PITCHED SOUND STARTED COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SOUND LASTED ABOUT 5 SECONDS. WHEN THE SOUND ENDED, THE BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT RESISTANCE. ALL REGULARLY SCHEDULED AND RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE HAD BEEN PREFORMED. AS A RESULT OF BRAKE FAILURE, VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AVIS FORD DEALERSHIP PREFORMED THE REPAIRS. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP IF THEY WERE AWARE OF ANY SIMILAR ISSUES HAVING BEEN REPORTED AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF SUCH SIMILAR REPORTS.
2013 F150 FORD PARKED OUTSIDE ON DRIVEWAY. SUNNY WITH TEMPERATURE ROUGHLY 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. REMOTE START USED TO WARM UP TRUCK. WALKING OUT TO TRUCK WHEN A LOUD BANG/GUNSHOT TYPE OF SOUND HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. WALKED AROUND TRUCK AND SAW THAT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW (3 SECTIONS) HAD STARTED TO SPIDER CRACK. THIS PART OF THE WINDOW THEN CONTINUED TO CRACK UNTIL THE WHOLE SECTION WAS SPIDER CRACKED. (THE SHARP EDGES OF GLASS WERE ON THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE WINDOW.) THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR EVALUATION BUT WAS TOLD IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER ESTIMATED REPLACEMENT COST IS $1,200-1,300 USD. (PARTS AND LABOR).
I'M REQUESTING THE NHTSA INVESTIGATE F150 ACCELERATOR PEDALS THAT ARE PLACED TOO CLOSELY TO THE CABIN FLOOR VENT. THE CABIN FLOOR VENT ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS PERPENDICULAR AND TO THE RIGHT OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT A DISTANCE OF 3.5 INCHES. MY FOOT IS WIDER THAN THE PEDAL, SO WHEN MY FOOT IS RESTING ON THE ACCELERATOR IT IS ONLY 1-2 INCHES FROM THE VENT. SINCE MY FOOT IS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE VENT, IT BLOCKS ALL AIRFLOW. SETTING THE FLOOR VENTS ON HEAT MEANS THAT HOT AIR BLOWS DIRECTLY ON THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF MY RIGHT FOOT. WITHIN 1-2 MINUTES OF ACTIVATION, MY FOOT BECOMES UNCOMFORTABLY WARM FROM THE BARRAGE OF HOT AIR. THE RESULT IS A PAINFUL, BURNING SENSATION AND EXTREME PHYSICAL DISCOMFORT IN MY FOOT. USING AN INFRARED THERMOMETER, I GATHERED TEMPERATURE READINGS OF THE AIR EXITING THE VENTS. THE AC WAS SET TO MAXIMUM HEAT. ALL READINGS WERE TAKEN WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IDLE. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES WERE 30 F. THE THERMOMETER MEASURED TEMPERATURES IN EXCESS OF 140 F FROM ALL VENTS. THE READING OF THE VENT NEXT TO THE ACCELERATOR WAS 141.5F. I PLACED AN EMPTY SHOE ON THE ACCELERATOR AND LEFT IT THERE FOR 3 MINUTES. READINGS OF THE SHOE WHILE ON THE ACCELERATOR WERE IN EXCESS OF 120F. I REMOVED THE SHOE FROM ACCELERATOR AND TOOK READINGS AFTER IT COOLED FOR 3 SECONDS. THE SHOE'S TEMPERATURE WAS 115F. THE SHOE REMAINED WARM TO THE TOUCH FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. LEAVING THE VENTS AT THE SAME SETTINGS, I TOOK MEASUREMENTS OF THE BARE SKIN OF MY HANDS AND ARMS. TEMPERATURE READINGS WERE BETWEEN 89-91F. SKIN CAN BE BURNED IN A RELATIVELY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WHEN EXPOSED TO TEMPERATURES IN EXCESS OF 120F. MY OWN DISCOMFORT CONFIRMS THIS. I CONTACTED 3 FORD DEALERS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AND EXPLAINED MY FINDINGS. TWO DEALERS SAID THAT THE PEDALS IN MY MODEL FORD WERE NONADJUSTABLE, SO THE ISSUE WAS NOT ACTIONABLE. I ALSO CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY. SO FAR NO SOLUTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND DECELERATED AS THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
I PURCHASED MY TRUCK ON JANUARY 6TH, 2016. I NOTICED THE SOFT PEDAL ON MY TEST DRIVE, AND THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO FIX THE ISSUE AT NO CHARGE TO ME, SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE BRAKES SERVICED. THEY REPLACED THE FRONT PADS, AND CUT THE ROTORS, REPLACED THE REAR PADS AND ROTORS. MY BRAKES WERE WORSE. I EXPLAINED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS TO THE FLOOR. EVEN IF YOU "PUMP" THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WILL STILL CONTINUE TO GO TO THE FLOOR. UNDER NORMAL, GRADUAL BRAKING, THE IS EXCESSIVE TRAVEL BEFORE THE BRAKES START TO GRAB. UNDER A "PANIC STOP", THE PEDAL WILL GO RIGHT DOWN WITH POOR RESPONSE. AFTER 3 MORE TRIPS, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, ABS MODULE, ALL FOUR PADS, REAR ROTORS, AND BLED THE SYSTEM. NO IMPROVEMENT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED, AND THEY HAVE SINCE SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING MORE FOR ME.
REMOTE STARTED MY 2013 F-150 RAPTOR AND IT RAN IN THE DRIVE WAY FOR 3-4 MIN. STARTED DOWN THE ROAD AND TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST. AFTER ABOUT 2 MIN, THE REAR WINDOW POPPED AND SHATTERED BEHIND ME. AFTER RESEARCHING, LOOKS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE THAT FORD SEEMS TO NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE. I CALLED THEM TODAY AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ACTED LIKE HE DID NOT KNOW OF ANY PAST ISSUES. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL GET THE ATTENTION IT NEEDS SOON.

The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
"WINDOW SHATTERED" DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD ON ROADWAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 10MINS WHEN SUDDENLY THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THE REAR WINDOW ON MY F150 IS A 3 PIECE WINDOW WITH THE CENTER PIECE BEING A SLIDER. THE LEFT REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. TEMPERATURE WAS UPPER 20'S AND REAR DEFROSTER WAS ON. THERE WAS NO INTENTIONAL ACT AND, THIS WAS OBVIOUS A DEFECT OF SOME KIND OCCURRED. PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED FOR DOCUMENTATION PURPOSES. COMPLAINT MADE WITH FORD AND A CLAIM # WAS PROVIDED BUT NO ASSISTANCE PROVIDED WHATSOEVER.
3.5 L ECOBOST LOSSES POWER WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND POOR ACCELERATION FROM STOP LIGHT OR WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED WHEN PASSING. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS FROM VEHICLES GOING FASTER APPROACHING FROM REAR AT STOP LIGHTS AND WHILE PASSING. HAD CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH TWO TRACTOR TRAILERS ON HWY WHILE TRAVELING AT 60-65MPH GOING UP A HILL. WENT TO PASS THE TRAILER TRUCK THAT WAS SLOWING DOWN. AFTER ENTERING THE PASSING LANE AND PRESSING THE ACCELERATION PEDAL THE TRUCK HAD A QUICK SHAKE THEN WITH THE ACCELERATION PEDAL PRESSED TO THE FLOOR THE TRUCK SLOWED TO 45 MPH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BUY ANOTHER LARGE TRUCK ATTEMPTING TO PASS THE SLOWER ONE. SOMETIMES HAS TICKING NOISE AT START UP THAT SEEMS TO GO AWAY AFTER RUNNING FOR 5-30SECONDS. HAS P0016 CODE AND P0299 CODES.
LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. NO VISIBLE LEAKS. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND ADDED FLUID, NEXT MORNING RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AGAIN, NO FLUID ON THE GROUND UNDER VEHICLE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER FOR WARRANTY REPAIR. THE MILEAGE WAS 24088. DEALER STATED "BOOSTER WAS FULL OF BRAKE FLUID" AND REPLACED BOOSTER PUMP AND MASTER CYLINDER. I HAVE NOTED OTHER ONLINE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME FAILURE ON THIS SAME MODEL AND YEAR OF TRUCK. I FEEL AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE OPENED DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE NATURE OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE CONNECTOR DETACHED FROM THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY POST. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MAUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,500.
MY TRUCK HAS OVER 115,000 MILES ON IT NOW I DRIVE 50,000+ MILES A YEAR. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW 1ST OCCURRENCE WAS AT APPX 50,000 MILES I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PASS ON INTERSTATE THE ENGINE STALLED STARTED RUN ROUGH AND LOST POWER THIS CORRECTED IT SELF AFTER I LET OFF THE THROTTLE IN A FEW SECONDS. IT DID THIS ONE MORE TIME A FEW DAYS LATER. TALKED TO LOCAL DEALER ASKED ABOUT FUEL FILTER, THEY SAID THERE WAS NO FILTER. THEY RECOMMENDED RUNNING FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER. I DID THIS AND CONTINUED TO DO THIS BUT ENGINE IDLED ROUGH AT STOP SIGNS EVEN IN PARK. IT FINALLY DID THE SAME THING A THIRD TIME AND THEN AGAIN FROM A STOP SIGN. I HAD SPARK PLUGS REPLACED THIS WAS AT 95,000 MILES THIS HELPED I DID NOT HAVE THE STUMBLE PROBLEM AGAIN BUT STILL IDLES ROUGH. FINALLY 2 DAYS AGO IT WAS GOING DOWN ROAD AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE PULLED OVER SHUT OFF AND RESTART ENGINE IT WENT INTO NORMAL MODE NO PROBLEM. I HAVE CLEANED THE MAP SENSORS ALL THREE BUT NO HELP. I DID NOTE MAP SENSORS ARE WET. I REAR IN ONE OF YOUR MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT IT MAY BE CONDENSATION FROM INTER-COOLER THIS SOUNDS PLAUSIBLE. WHEN IT GOES INTO LIMP IT DOES NOT THROW A CODE SO NO WAY TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. I HAVE SPOKE TO MY DEALER NO HELP. I HAVE NOT CALLED FORD YET. I HAVE REAR MULTIPLE (100S) OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS A LOT OF THEM ON YOUR SITE. WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE DYING FOR YOU TO FORCE FORD TO FIX THIS. THE TRUCK COST OVER 50,000 I AM STILL PAYING FOR IT AND IT IS UNSAFE. I HAD A NISSAN WITH OVER 300,000 MILES AND NO PROBLEMS DO WE NEED TO BUY FOREIGN MADE VEHICLES TO GET A GOOD PRODUCT? WILL AMERICAN COMPANIES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS? I AS A TAX PAYER BAILED OUT FORD AND GM CAN I NOT EXPECT A QUALITY MADE PRODUCT IN RETURN! I GUESS AFTER SOMEONE DIES IN A CRASH CAUSED BY THE F150 STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY THE NHTSA WILL FINALLY STEP IN AN FORCE A RECALL!!!
VEHICLE DECELERATED DURING ATTEMPT HARD ACCELERATION. HAD LOSS OF POWER WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. ONCE WHILE ACCELERATING ON AN ON RAMP AND ONCE DURING ACCELERATION UP A STEEP INCLINE AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS. BOTH DURING WET CONDITIONS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DECELERATING AND THEN WENT OFF AFTER SLOWING AND PULLING TO SIDE OF ROAD. DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCE WHILE TRYING TO MERGE AND FROM OVERTAKING TRAFFIC.
BACK WINDOW SHATTERED, POWER SLIDING BACK WINDOW (DRIVERS SIDE, 3 PART BACK WINDOW). USED REAR DEFROST FOR A FEW MINUTES AND IT BLEW UP AT A STOPLIGHT, SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT.
WE HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN THREE TIMES FOR SQUEELING BRAKES AND IT STILL MAKES A HIGH PITCHED NOISE WHEN I STOP.
THE ENGINE SPLASH SHIELD HAS COME LOOSE THREE TIMES IN ABOUT A YEAR. THIS IS VERY LARGE COMPONENT UNDER THE ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THERE ARE A LOT OF F-150'S WITH THIS ISSUE, THAT SNOW WILL PULL THE SHIELD DOWN. THEY ALSO ASKED WHO CHANGED THE OIL - I BELIEVE THE SHIELD NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO CHANGE THE OIL. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THE PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED BY FORD OR THE WARRANTY. IF THE SHIELD COMES LOOSE IT CREATES A CLEAR HAZARD FOR CARS BEHIND THE TRUCK. THE SHIELD HAS COME LOOSE AFTER AN OIL CHANGE (BY THE DEALERSHIP), IN THE SNOW, AND ONE OTHER TIME.
I WAS IN A WRECK MY TRUCK WAS HIT RIGHT ON THE AIRBAG SENSOR SO HARD THAT IT WAS PUSHED INTO THE RADIATOR AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSED ME TO HIT MY HEAD OFF THE WINDOW TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULDN'T BELIEVE THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF POLICE REPORT FILED FAILURE MILAGE WAS 80000.
BASICALLY THE TRUCK WILL NOT START. IT HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ELECTRICAL. WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK I HEAR THE STARTER RUNNING FOR ~5 SECONDS BUT THE ENGINE NEVER FIRES OFF. ON MY 4TH OR 5TH REPAIR AFTER HAVING IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. EACH TIME THEY TRY REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP ONLY FOR IT TO WORK BRIEFLY. TWICE IT STARTED FOR THEM AT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER IT HAD BEEN TOWED. EITHER THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR THE WORK THEY DO FUEL PUMP TEMPORARILY FIXES THE REAL ISSUE. THIS CYCLE HAS REPEATED FOR 4-5 TIMES FOR A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 30K MILES. FIRST INSTANCE WAS IN FEBRUARY 2013. LAST 3 INSTANCES HAVE BEEN IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING BUT IF ITS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE AS THEY KEEP CLAIMING THEN THE ISSUE COULD ARISE AT ANY TIME. AT THIS POINT I DON'T TRUST NOR FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. OH I SHOULD MENTION THAT THIS LAST TOW TRUCK DRIVER TOWED 9 OTHER FORD-F150 THIS WEEK THAT HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS.
THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY COMPLAINT FILED PRECIOUSLY. AFTER THE SECOND EPISODE OF LOSS OF POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. I TOOK MY ECOBOOST POWERED TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED TSB 14-0017. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE ENGINE LOOSING POWER. THIS IS WHY THE NHTSA CLOSED THE INVESTIGATION OF THE F150 ECOBOOST. THIS HAS NOT WORKED. YESTERDAY 11-7-2015 I WAS ON A 2 HOUR HIGHWAY TRIP IN RAINY CONDITIONS. WHILE DRIVING THE MOTOR AGAIN LOST POWER AND COULD NOT EVEN MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS WAS DANGEROUS TO MY FAMILY AND EVERYONE AROUND US. THE TSB FROM FORD HAS NOT FIXED THE DANGERS OF THESE TRUCKS. PLEASE RE-OPEN THE INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR INJURED. AMERICAN ROADS DESERVE SAFE CARS.

I PURCHASED MY 2013 FORD F 150 V8, 6.2L RAPTOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FOR THE MAIN PURPOSE OF HUNTING VERY REMOTE AREAS HERE IN MAINE. ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO, I UTILIZED THE REMOTE START TO START THE TRUCK AND DROVE TO WORK. AT NOON THAT DAY, I WENT TO START MY TRUCK, IT WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE. CALLED AAA, THEY CHECKED THE BATTERY WHICH WAS FINE AND THEN PLACED KEY INTO DOOR TO UNLOCK AND ENGINE FIRED UP. THEN ABOUT A WEEK AGO, DURING HUNTING SEASON, I DROVE THE TRUCK INTO A GAS STATION, FILLED THE TANK, I WENT TO START THE TRUCK TO LEAVE AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED. I ENDED UP TAKING THE CABLE OFF OF THE BATTERY, THEN REATTACHED AND THE ENGINE FIRED UP. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO FORD, THEY STATED THAT THEY DIAGNOSED AS AS KNOWN PROBLEM. THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP WILL NEED TO BE DIVERTED. I TOLD FORD THAT I WAS HEADING NORTH TO HUNT THE NEXT DAY, THEY RECOMMENDED STRONGLY THAT I GET THE ISSUE FIXED ASAP, SAID THEY COULD GET PART AND HAVE THE ISSUE REMEDIED THE NEXT DAY. I SET UP THE APPOINTMENT. FORD JUST CALLED AND SAID THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER, THEY CAN'T GET IT UNTIL NOV 30. HUNTING SEASON ENDS NOV 27TH.

THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V316000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATED FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PULSATING BRAKE PEDAL, SHIMMY IN THE STEERING WHEEL AT 27,000 MILES. REPLACED ALL 4 ROTORS AND NEW BRAKE PADS. 39,000 MILES NOW, BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER DOING RESEARCH AND READING MANY FORUMS I LEARNED THERE IS A CONTACT IN REAR WINDOW THAT HAS SHORTED OUT AND CAUSED MANY REAR WINDOW SECTIONS TO POP AND SHATTER THE GLASS. WHEN I TURN MY REAR DEFROST ON MOST OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T WORK BUT WHEN IT DOES I AM AFRAID THE GLASS WILL BREAK LIKE IT HAD FOR SO MANY OTHERS. THIS HAD ALSO CAUSED ME NOT TO USE IT WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE TRUCK.
TRUCK WILL SOMETIMES DOWNSHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY FROM CRUISING SPEEDS OR WHEN TAKING SLOW CORNERS. THIS WILL CAUSE LURCHES THAT ARE UNEXPECTED AND SCARY. TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD US THE OSS AND VSS SENSORS WERE NOT COMMUNICATING AND THE MOLDED LEADNFRAME HAD TO BE REPLACED.
NOT GETTING PROMISED MILEAGE. FOLDER SAYS 14 CITY AND 19 HWY. I GET 10.5 ON AVG. ONCE I GOT 14 ON HWY BY COASTING WHEN I COULD.
VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR LESS THAN ONE HOUR. RETURNED AND STARTED VEHICLE. DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE LOW FLUID LIGHT ILLUMINATED. NO BRAKING ACTION. STOPPED VEHICLE AND CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. RESERVOIR HAD LESS THAN ONE QUARTER INCH OF FLUID. CHECKED UNDER AND AROUND VEHICLE AND FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF FLUID LEAK. ADDED 24 OZ. OF FLUID TO RESERVOIR. BRAKES STILL VERY MUSHY WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING ACTION. DROVE 11 MILES VERY SLOWLY AND PARKED VEHICLE IN DRIVEWAY. RESEVOIR AGAIN ALMOST EMPTY WITH NO VISIBLE LEAKS. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. APPEARS THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER ARE BOTH BAD. TRUCK HAD JUST ROLLED OVER 13,000 MI. WHEN PROBLEM OCCURRED. I HAVE READ AT LEAST 15 SIMILAR REPORTS ON THIS PROBLEM GOING BACK AS FAR AS 2011 F-150 VEHICLES. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE TIRES WAS NOT REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER, TIRE LINE, AND TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
DISCOVERED MY REAR DEFROST WAS NOT WORKING ONE MORNING, BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FORD DEAR WHERE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE REAR WINDOW GLASS AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

2013 FORD F-150 WITH THE 5.0 V8 ENGINE THAT HAS 51,000 MILES. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE TRUCK WILL CRANK AS NORMAL BUT WILL NOT START, AS WELL AS LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. FORD ROAD SIDE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO SUMMERVILLE FORD. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THAT A FUSE FORM THE FACTORY WAS TOO SMALL AND WAS OVERHEATING CAUSING THE TRUCK NOT TO START. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THIS IS A KNOWN/COMMON ISSUE, AND THE FIX WAS FOR THEM TO INSTALL A FUSE RELOCATION KIT BY SPLICING INTO THE WIRING IN THE FUSE BOX AS WELL AS INSTALL A LARGER FUSE. OF COURSE THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ENGINEERING/FUSE LOCATION ISSUE AND NOT A WORN OUT PART ISSUE.
REPRODUCEABLE LOSS OF POWER AFTER EXTENDED HIGHWAY DRIVING IN HUMID WEATHER. LOSS OF POWER HAPPENS WHEN THE ECOBOOST INTERCOOLER (CAC) BUILDS UP CONDENSATION AND THEN THROTTLE IS APPLIED TO PASS OR MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN TROTTLE IS APPLIED THE CONDESATION WATER IS PUSHED BY THE TURBOS PSI INTO THE MOTOR. THIS CAUSES A MISSFIRE AND THE ENGINE TO LOOSE POWER UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS HAS HAPPEBED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE ON A COUNTRY ROAD WITH ONCOMMING TRAFFIC NEARLY CAUSING A HEAD ON COLLISION.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 45MPH AND LOST POWER TO GAS WOULDN'T GO OVER 30MPH TOOL LIGHT CAME ON THEN AND NUMBER 1 WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. LET IT SIT FOR HALF A HOUR , TURN BACK ON AND IT MUST HAVE RESET IT SELF P. DROVE BACK HOME WHICH IS 20 MILES AWAY AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW IT ONLY HAS 60K MILES ON IT.

WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELLERATING IN A NORMAL MANNER THE VEHICLE WILL UPSHIFT PROPERLY UNTIL IT REACHES 4TH GEAR AND WILL NOT SHIFT ANY FURTHER, EVEN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS OF 65 TO 70 MPH FOR SEVERAL MILES NO MATTER WHAT I ATTEMPT TO DO. SOMETIMES IT WILL MAKE IT TO 5TH GEAR AND REMAIN THERE EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT LOADED DOWN OR PULLING ANYTHING.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS OF A DEFECT IN THE WIRING OF THE REAR DEFROSTER THAT CAUSES REAR WINDOWS TO SHATTER IN COLDER WEATHER. DEALER SAYS THE ENTIRE WINDOW AND SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A FAULTY SWITCH. FORD DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECT. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD AS THE REAR WINDOW PANEL COULD SHATTER WHILE DRIVING. REAR DEFROSTER MECHANISM IS LINKED TO SIDE MIRROR DEFROSTER MECHANISM, SO THE ONLY WAY TO DEFROST SIDE MIRRORS IS TO ACTIVATE THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT IN ADVANCE OF AN EVENT SUCH AS THE WINDOW SHATTERING ON MY TRUCK IN ORDER TO FORCE THE NHTSB TO MAKE FORD ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER.

ON OCTOBER19 2015 IN YUMA, AZ., I WAS DROPPING DAUGHTER OFF AT SCHOOL AT APPROXIMATELY 720 A.M. ON MY WAY WORK WHEN MY "CHECK BRAKE FLUID" WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL BUT AS I WAS DRIVING I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTED TO FEEL MUSHY AND AS I CONTINUED DRIVING AT 55 MILES PER HOUR I WAS COMING UP TO A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND AS I TRIED TO DECELERATE BY PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOORBOARD AND I WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN, BUT 5 MINUTES PRIOR MY BRAKES WORKED FINE. I HAD TO SHARPLY VEER OF TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID SLAMMING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS SLOWING DOWN, DRIVING OVER THE CURB AND HAVING TO MANUALLY DOWNSHIFT AND UTILIZING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A PARKED BUS. AS I HAVE BEEN READING THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, I AM THANKFUL THAT I DID NOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME AND AM VERY LUCKY THAT NOBODY WAS HURT OR GOD FORBID WORSE. THE F-150 WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AMAZINGLY THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG BEFORE EVEN LOOKING AT THE TRUCK WHICH TELLS ME THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE HERE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO, WHEN I CHECK MY BRAKE FLUID, GO FIGURE IT WAS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SERVICED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE TRUCK HAS 32,000 MILES ON IT. POWER REAR MIDDLE WINDOW SHATTERED WHEN TRUCK WAS SITTING STILL IN PARKING LOT. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ON WHILE DRIVING TRUCK. WINDSHIELD WIPER COME ON EVERY TWENTY SECONDS WITH SWITCH IN OFF POSITION
