THE SKID PLATE UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HAS INADEQUATE FASTENERS. THE FASTENERS DO NOT RETAIN THE SKID PLATE AND SKID PLATE WILL COME LOOSE. IN MY CASE THE SKID PLATE CAME COMPLETELY LOOSE AND FELL ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE BY A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. ITEMS FALLING OFF OF VEHICLES ONTO THE HIGHWAY IS A SAFETY CONCERN. ESPECIALLY WHEN SUCH ITEMS ARE LARGE AND DIFFICULT TO AVOID. I HAVE WRITTEN TO FORD WITH NO RESOLUTION OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE PROBLEM. PARTS SHOULD NOT BE FALLING OFF OF VEHICLES BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE OR INADEQUATE FASTENERS.
I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES ON MY WAY TO WORK, AND AS I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, I HEARD A LOUD POP, SIMILAR TO A GUNSHOT. I GOT OUT AND REALIZED MY REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. I HAVE THE THREE PIECE, SLIDING WINDOW WITH DEFROST. THE DRIVER SIDE WAS SHATTERED. NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXPENSIVE WARRANTY, NOR COVERED BY FORD AS A RECALL, NOR COVERED BY INSURANCE WITHOUT A DEDUCTIBLE. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, NO ROUGH ROADS. NOTHING.
WE WERE LEAVING TO GET LUNCH, CAME UP TO A STOP SIGN AT ABOUT 30MPH WITH A CAR COMING DOWNHILL ON THE ROAD WE WERE GETTING READY TO TAKE. I ATTEMPTED TO USE MY BRAKES TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND HAD LOST MY BRAKES. THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE AND MY FOOT THAT WAS ON THE BRAKE WAS FULLY PRESSED. WE ROLLED THROUGH THE STOP SIGN, CUTTING OFF THE CAR. I FOUND THE BRAKE BOOSTER, VACUUM / MASTER CYLINDER TO BE AN ISSUE AFTER TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC AND DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD THESE PARTS REPLACED WITH ABOUT 9,000 MILES DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO INSTANCES (THE FIRST INSTANCE WAS UNREPORTED TO NHTSA). FORD WAS CONTACTED BUT I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE DUE TO MY STATE'S (OHIO) LEMON LAW.
TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTS WHILE MOVING, FROM 6TH GEAR DOWN TO 1ST, ALL GAUGES GO TO ZERO BUT TRUCK DOES NOT POWER OFF. CAN ACCELERATE BUT DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED. SIMILAR SYMPTOMS FOR THE 2011-2013 F150 RECALL OUT NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BEST FORD LINCOLN (579 AMHERST ST, NASHUA, NH 03063, (603) 889-0161), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED ONLINE AND STATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE DRIVE TRAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,000.
WINDOWS SHATTERING WITH OUT IMPACT. MOSTY ON FORDS 2010 TO 2016 I AM SEEN WHILE RESEARCHING. FORS HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BUT THEY REFUSE TO RECALL. ITS IS A DEFECT IN THE WINDOW EITHER BY THE DFROSTER OR FAULTY GLASS. WILL JUST EXPLODE WITHOUT CAUSE AT ANYTIME. WAS DRIVING APPROX 10MPH STRAIGHT DOWN ROAD NORMAL STREET, BOUGHT TRUCK AT FORD OF SOUDERTON CIOCA THE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP WONT BACK PRODUCT.
WHILE TRAVELING EASTBOUND DOING 65 MPH AND TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER ON I-10 (FL PANHANDLE), THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE WE WERE TRAVELING IN THE RIGHT LANE. AFTER GETTING TO A REPAIR GARAGE, WE WERE TOLD BY A FORMER FORD MECHANIC THAT THERE HAD BEEN A TSB ISSUED FOR MICRO FUSE #27 WHICH CONTROLS FUEL PUMP RELAY. FORD HAS ISSUED A REPAIR KIT TO REPLACE THE FUSE WITH A CARTRIDGE MAXI FUSE IN THE #70 EMPTY SPOT ON THE FUSE PANEL. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED THIS FUSE REPLACEMENT AND THE TRUCK IS NOW RUNNING FINE FOR 400 MILES. THE MECHANIC IMMEDIATELY KNEW THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT HE HAD PERFORMED THIS REPAIR "SEVERAL TIMES" WHILE WORKING FOR A FORD DEALER.
TRUCK REAR WINDOW GLASS IS BREAKING WITH NO OBVIOUS CAUSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHEEHY FORD LINCOLN OF RICHMOND (10601 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235, (804) 794-0500) WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE DEALER DID NOT LOOK UP THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,805.
TRUCK PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS TURNED OFF IN PARK AND KEY REMOVED THE TRUCK STARTED TO ROLL BACK CAUSING INJURY TO MY WHEELCHAIR BOUND HUSBAND, BREAKING HIS ARM AND DRAGGING ME 15 FEET DOWN THE DRIVEWAY BEFORE COMING TO A STOP ACROSS THE STREET AT THE CURB
I HAVE 45K MILES AND WAS DRIVING AND THE COMPRESSION FITTING ON THE TRANSMISSION HOSE AT THE RADIATOR SHEARED OFF. IT SPRAYED TRANSMISSION OIL ALL OVER ENGINE AND ROADWAY. THERE WAS A MOTORCYCLE BEHIND ME WHO LUCKILY DIDN'T GO DOWN DUE TO THE OIL. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMSSION LINE AND FLUID. I ALSO NEEDED TO RENT A CAR SINCE I WAS OUT OF TOWN.
AT 0630 ON MARCH 24, 2019 I EXITED THE EXPRESS WAY AND WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STARTED TO TURN RIGHT AND I HEARD A LOUD BANG. AS I WAS CHECKING MY MIRRORS I NOTICED MY REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD, AND I HAD NOT HIT ANYTHING. NOTHING STRUCK MY VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V316000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED WITH NOTHING HITTING IT. I HAVE A CAP ON THE TRUCK IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE TRUCKS WINDOW TO BE HIT BY A ROCK WITHOUT THE CAP HAVING BEEN DAMAGED. TRUCK WAS PARKED I CAME OUT AND NOTICED THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SAFETY GLASSES WAS BROKE.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES AND DROPS TO LOWER GEAR LOSES POWER
WHILE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES ANYWHERE NEAR ME, MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT REMAINED INTACT AND IN PLACE BUT EVERY INCH OF IT IS SPIDERWEBBED.
ADVANCETRAC SERVICE KEEPS COMING ON AND STEERING AND BRAKES BEGIN PULSING AND SHAKING AND CAN'T HARDLY TURN , HAS HAPPENED WHEN GOING STRAIGHT AND WHEN TURNING WHILE GOING FROM 35 TO 70 MPH ON HIGHWAY OR SIDE STREET. ONLY 19000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING, A POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD INSIDE THE VEHICLE MOMENTS AFTER THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE CASTRUCCI FORD (7400 ALEXANDRIA PIKE, ALEXANDRIA, KY) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
POWER STEERING IS ONLY WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE MODEL YEAR, BUT MY TRUCK WAS NOT INCLUDED. I SEE SEVERAL ONLINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS FROM OTHER OWNERS THAT WEREN'T IN THE RECALL. I LIVE IN A MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN WITH WINDY ROADS AND IF THE POWER STEERING QUITS WHEN ZI DON'T EXPECT IT, I WILL VEER OFF THE ROAD AND HAVE TO JERK IT BACK ON.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED, DEFROSTER WAS ON FOR APPROX. 15 MINUTES AND SHUT OFF AS I GOT IN. AS I STARTED TO DRIVE AWAY, A LOUD POW AND THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED.
TRANSMISSION. SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT INTO LOWER GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A MOUNTAINOUS CANYON ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE ABRUPTLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFTED INTO A LOWER GEAR. THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED DRAMATICALLY. I PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND AFTER SOME SECONDS CAUTIOUSLY SWITCHED THE GEAR SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE. FORTUNATELY, THE TRANSMISSION HAD RETURNED TO THE HIGHER GEAR, AND I PROCEEDED TO MY DESTINATION. I'M CONCERNED THAT FORD'S RECALL AFFECTING 2011-2013 MODEL YEARS FOR SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT, CRASH CONCERN MAY NOT BE BROAD ENOUGH SINCE MY 2014 MODEL YEAR APPEARS TO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE; IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO A HIGHER GEAR I COULD HAVE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS HAZARDS ON A STEEP, BUSY, AND WINDING CANYON ROAD AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
SITTING IN A PARKING LOT WITH REAR DEFROSTER ON, WITH BLOWING SNOW AND APPROXIMATELY 38 DEGREES OUT SIDE LEFT REAR WINDOW IN 3 PIECE SLIDER EXPLODED. HEARD A LOUD POP AFTER LOOKING FOUND WINDOW SPIDERWEBBED THE TINT ONLY THING HOLDING IT TOGETHER.
DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED OUT OF NO WHERE WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT. CAUSIG GLASS TO CUT MY SON.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT ON SUNDAY, MARCH 10TH, AT 930AM, AND AT LESS THAN 5 MPH, BY REAR WINDOW BEHIND THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT CRACKED AND SPIDER-ED ALL ACROSS. THERE WAS NO SIGNS OF ANYTHING MAKING CONTACT WITH MY WINDOW, I HAVE A BED COVER AS WELL, THERE WERE NO ROCKS, TREE BRANCHES, OR BALLS OF ANY KIND TO BE SUSPICIOUS OF CAUSING MY WINDOW TO BREAK.
THE POWER STEERING FAILS WITHOUT WARNING. AT TIMES IT REQUIRES 'MUSCLING' THE STEERING TO TURN OR STRAIGHTEN THE WHEELS AFTER A TURN. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAY AND TURNING. THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER FORD F-150 TRUCK OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS REPORTED ON DIFFERENT SITES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS IT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO POTENTIALLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE B/C IT'S UNPREDICTABLE. IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE 'FIXED' IF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVEN KNOWS WHAT TO DO OR THE REPAIR FAILS! THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM BUT ONLY IN A VERY LIMITED DATE RANGE. ALSO THE POWER STEERING SEEMS TO BE FAILING ON OTHER FORD VEHICLES, AS EVEN REPORTED TO NHTSA. IMAGINE LOSING STEERING WHILE TRAVELING ON I-80 (ESP IN PA) OR NEGOTIATING A TURN. PLEASE INVESTIGATE!!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BARBER FORD (1112 N CHURCH ST, HAZLETON, PA 18202, (570) 454-2414) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR CABLE DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,141.
FROZEN DOOR LATCH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAMEROW FORD (LOCATED AT 12325 SW CANYON RD, BEAVERTON, OR 97005, (800) 732-8633) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT FUSE NUMBER 27 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
WIPER MOTOR, RADIO/ IGNITION SYSTEM, REMOTE LOCKING/ UNLOCKING & CRUISE CONTROL. 1ST ISSUE: WIPER MOTOR WILL NOT TURN TO OFF, THE WIPERS RUN INTERMITTENTLY IN THE OFF POSITION EVERY 20-30 SECONDS THE WIPERS WILL RUN. PULLED FUSE UNTIL REPAIRS CAN BE MADE TO SWITCH AND/OR MODULE. 2ND ISSUE: WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED OFF & KEY REMOVED, AND THE RADIO IS PLAYING OR OFF, A LOW BATTERY WARNING MESSAGE APPEARS: REMOVE IGNITION KEY AND TURN OFF THE RADIO. THE ISSUE WILL NOT CURE UNLESS TRUCK IS VACATED & LOCKED. DEALER CAN'T REPLICATE ISSUE NO REPAIRS MADE BUT STILL OCCURS FROM TIME TO TIME. 3RD ISSUE: POWER LOCK/ UNLOCK BY REMOTE DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH TRUCK INTERMITTENTLY, REPLACED BOTH REMOTE BATTERIES STILL HAVING ISSUES GETTING TRUCK TO UNLOCK/ LOCK. DEALER CAN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM & NO REPAIRS ARE MADE. 4TH ISSUE: CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT DISENGAGE WHEN PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, HAVE TO TURN OFF CRUISE CONTROL FROM STEERING COLUMN. THIS ISSUE NEVER RETURNED TO DATE OF THIS COMPLAINT, NO REPAIRS MADE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN. WITH ALL THE ISSUES WITH TRUCK NO WARNING DASH MESSAGES OR LIGHTS. MY REAR WINDOW HAS SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED TWICE IN THE LAST FOURTY DAYS. I'VE TIED THE ISSUE BACK TO THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER BEING ACTIVATED WHEN THE REMOTE START IS USED WHICH CREATES AN EXTREME TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN THE AIR INSIDE THE VEHICLE VERSUS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. FORD DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE, HOWEVER IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON ISSUE I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH. THIS OCCURRED ON 1/21/2019 AND AGAIN ON 2/27/2019
I EXPERIENCED A TOTAL FAILURE OF THE BRAKES SYSTEM. THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NOT ON AND ONLY CAME ON LATER. THE OIL RESERVOIR WAS TOTALLY EMPTY AND A EVEN WITH A QUART OF OIL ADDED THE RESERVOIR IS STILL EMPTY WITH NO VISIBLE LEAK. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK IN A SNOW BANK AND NO DAMAGE OCCUR. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST BUT ACCORDING TO THE RECALL (2013-2014 F-150 3.5LITERS) I ASK WHY BUT GOT NO ANSWER.
WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY USING CRUISE CONTROL, I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN FOR AN EXIT. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT RELEASE AND I HAD TO APPLY QUITE A BIT OF BRAKE PRESSURE TO SLOW DOWN. I ALSO HIT THE OFF BUTTON FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL WHICH DID NOT DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN I BRAKED, THE SPEED WAS DECREASED BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS STILL ON AT THE REDUCED SPEED. I KEPT HITTING THE OFF BUTTON, BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS STILL IN OPERATION. AFTER DOING THIS FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES, THE CRUISE CONTROL FINALLY DEACTIVATED. I USED THE CRUISE CONTROL LATER ON THIS TRIP TO TEST IT AND IT WORKED AS IT SHOULD. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 3/6/19 AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CHECK IT FOR A CHARGE AND WOULD FIX IT FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE; THAT CHARGE DEPENDING ON WHETHER IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 100,000 MILES AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 20,000 MILES. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. HE REPLIED THAT A BALD TIRE WAS A SAFETY ISSUE ALSO, MAKING THE POINT THAT THEY DID NOT INTEND TO TREAT THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE WHERE A REPAIR WOULD BE DONE WITH NO CHARGE. HE PROFESSED IGNORANCE OF ANY VEHICLES HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL NOT DEACTIVATING. I SHOWED HIM AN ARTICLE ON THE INTERNET WHERE FIAT CHRYSLER HAD SEVERAL MILLION VEHICLES RECALLED WITH THIS PROBLEM. HE STILL SAID HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, BUT IF IT DID IT AGAIN, TO BRING IT BACK.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED AN UNKNOWN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) REGARDING A FUSE BURNING OUT THAT NEEDED TO BE RELOCATED. THE TSB ALSO INDICATED THAT THE FUSE SHOULD BE COVERED BY A FORD WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SONORA FORD (13254 MONO WAY, SONORA, CA 95370, (209) 532-5593) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUSE WAS NOT COVERED EVEN AFTER THE CONTACT SHOWED THEM THE TSB. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHEN PUSHING ON BRAKES AFTER STOPPING, THE PEDAL BECOMES SOFT AND GOES FARTHER DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, STOP SIGN, AND TRYING TO PARK ON DRIVEWAY.
AS I WAS ENTERING AN ON RAMP TO THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 5TH GEAR TO 2ND AND THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPED FROM AROUND 45 TO LESS THAN 20 AND BACK UP AGAIN. AFTER GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO HAVE PAUSED, THE SPEEDOMETER AGAIN JUMPED FROM 65 DOWN AND UP AGAIN.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILURE
STARTED 2014 F150 VEHICLE WITH REMOTE START TO WARM UP IN 7 DEGREE WEATHER. GOT IN TRUCK, INSERTED AND TURNED KEY TO ON. I BACKED UP MAYBE 10 FEET ON MY DRIVEWAY AND ONE SECTION (STATIONARY PANEL ON DRIVERS SIDE) OF BACK WINDOW SHATTERED WITH AN EXTREMELY LOUD POP. TRUCK HAS ELECTRIC POWERED SLIDING WINDOW EQUIPPED WITH DEFROST. VEHICLE HAS A NICELY FITTED CAP SO THERE WAS NO IMPACT AGAINST WINDOW. WINDOW DID NOT FALL OUT YET. VEHICLE HAS 62,000 MILES. I CALLED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD DEALERSHIP TODAY TO FIND OUT ON RECALLS OR IF EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD COVER REPLACEMENT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK AND GET BACK TO ME BUT NO CALL YET.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A FAIRLY COLD MORNING IN FEBRUARY 2019 AND MY REAR DEFROST WAS OFF AND I WENT TO TURN IT ON, I PRESSED THE CONTROL BUTTON ONCE AND IT DIDN'T COME ON AND AS I WENT TO PRESS IT AGAIN I HEARD A LOUD POP. WHEN I LOOKED BACK I NOTICED THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY REAR GLASS WAS SHATTERED. I WAS ALMOST TO OUR SHOP AND WASN'T GOING BUT ABOUT 45 MPH AND THERE WAS NOTHING OR NOBODY AROUND THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS.
REAR WINDOW BEHIND DRIVER'S SEAT SHATTERED. WAS NOT IN CAR WHEN IT OCCURRED. DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN FROM IMPACT. MULTIPLE REPORTS ONLINE OF REAR DEFROST ON REMOTE START CAUSING WINDOW TO SHATTER (GLASS RETAINED BY SAFETY COATING). REMOTE START WAS BEING USED TO WARM UP VEHICLE IN THE MORNING PRIOR TO NOTICING BROKEN WINDOW. TEMPERATURE WAS WELL BELOW ZERO, SINGLE DIGITS.
FAILED MASTER CYLINDER DUMPED ALL BRAKE FLUID INTO BOOSTER, RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING. ONLY THE PARKING BRAKES STILL WORK, AND THEY PERFORM TERRIBLY. OCCURRED WITHOUT NOTICE DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING.

THE CONTACT CALLED CORNING FORD AT (530) 824-5434 (LOCATED AT 2280 SHORT DR, CORNING, CA 96021) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V652000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD TO DRIVEN BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR WHEELS WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL FOUR WHEELS AND THE ROTORS, BRAKE PADS, AND BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUST AND CORROSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
CYLINDERS 5, 6, 7 AND 8 ALL BLEW HEAD GASKETS ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER STARTING WITH NUMBER 8.
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH ON A SMOOTH ROAD ON A 30 DAY A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD. THE BACK REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW PANEL OF THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW SHATTERED. THE GLASS DID STAY IN POSITION UNTIL IT COULD BE TAPED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE REAR DEFROST / MIRROR HEAT WAS ON AT THE TIME. THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION FOR MY REAR FACING 4 MONTH OLD CHILD BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT AND 3 YEAR OLD CHILD BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS THE 2ND REAR WINDOW FOR THIS TRUCK. THE FIRST REAR WINDOW THE DEFROST SYSTEM QUIT WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY WILL BE REPLACING THE WINDOW.
MY PASSENGER REAR WINDOW EXPLODED AND BROKE AFTER THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
ALL THE SUDDEN I WAS JUST DRIVING AND THE BACK WINDOW ON THE RIGHT SHATTERED. IT IS COLD OUTSIDE AND I HAD THE DEFROSTERS ON BUT I GOOGLED THIS AND IT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHER FORD 150 TRUCKS MY YEAR. I NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE WINDOW. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH WHEN IT SHATTERED THAT I ALMOST CRASHED.
LEFT REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT WAS APX. -10 F OUTSIDE. OTHER THAN THE COLD, THERE WAS NO OTHER FACTOR TO EXPLAIN WHY MY WINDOW SHATTERED.
