AFTER HAVING MY TRUCK FAIL TO START SEVERAL TIMES I DISCOVERED IT WAS A "FUSE 27" ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK. THIS ISSUE IS SO PREVALENT THAT THE FORD DEALER KNEW THE ISSUE BY NAME AS SOON AS I DESCRIBED IT. THE FUSE, LOCATED IN SLOT 27 OF THE MAIN FUSE PANEL WAS SEVERELY BURNED AND CHARRED FROM AN OVERLOAD ISSUE THAT CAUSES THE FUSE TO BURN IN ITS SOCKET INSTEAD OF TRIPPING LIKE A FUSE IS DESIGNED. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I DISCOVERED THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO FORD (TSB 15-0137) AND HUNDREDS, POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF FORD F-150 VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD TO THE VEHICLE, OR COULD CAUSE LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FORD IS CHOOSING TO RELEASE A TSB AND A REPAIR KIT, AND CHARGE CUSTOMERS TO FIX THEIR FAULTY WIRING IN THEIR NEW VEHICLES INSTEAD OF A RECALL OR WARRANTY COVERAGE OF A KNOWN ISSUE THEY ARE NOT FIXING. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND IRRESPONSIBLE ON FORD'S PART. *TR
THE OPERATOR CALLED AND INFORMED US THAT THE VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. WHEN HE STOMPED DOWN ON THE PEDAL THE VEHICLE WENT FULL ACCELERATION AND STAYED THERE. HITTING THE BRAKES DIDN'T HELP. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON BUT NOT SET. HE TRIED PULLING UP ON THE PEDAL, TURNING OFF CRUISE AND KILLED TRUCK AND RESTARTED TO MAX ACCELERATION, KILLED THE ENGINE, RESTARTED AND IT RESET AND WENT TO WORKING. WE HAVE NO CODES, INSPECTED THROTTLE BODY AND CLEANED, INSPECTED WIRING AND APP OPERATION, OTHER THAN GRAPH SIGNALS WERE CHOPPY AND NOT FAIRLY SMOOTH (NO DIAGNOSIS).
REAR DEFROSTER WAS NOT WORKING, I ACTUALLY REALIZED IT WHEN HITTING THE REAR DEFROST ON/OFF BUTTON BY MISTAKE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT THIS IS KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F -150. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I WAS A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND 2000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY. (DIDN'T NEED REAR DEFROST FOR MANY MONTHS). I NEVER NEEDED MY REAR DEFROSTER DURING THE SUMMER IN MICHIGAN. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM EVEN BEFORE THE FIRST TIME I NEEDED TO USE IT IN THE FALL. WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE DEALER LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT FORD WOULD PAY FOR THIS BECAUSE IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. FORD DENIED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD ONLY COVER PART OF THE REPAIR, LEAVING ME WITH A $250.00 FEE. THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTERS ON THE F-150 ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND CAN CAUSE THE REAR WINDOW TO EXPLODE IF NOT REPLACED. THE SERVICE TEAM INFORMED ME THAT I WAS LUCKY THAT MINE HADN'T EXPLODED. I ONLY NOTICED IT BECAUSE MY BUTTON ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIDN'T ILLUMINATE WHEN I TIED TO USE THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE ASHAMED AT THE WAY THEY ARE HIDING THIS KNOWN ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES AND SIGNAL LIGHTS FAILED TO WORK. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
THE BACKUP CAMERA WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE, THE BACKUP SCREEN THAT DISPLAYS THE IMAGE FROM THE CAMERA IS BLANK. THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION SHIFTER HAS TO BE PLACED BACK INTO PARK OR PLACED INTO NEUTRAL, THEN BACK INTO REVERSE FOR THE CAMERA SCREEN TO DISPLAY AN IMAGE. THIS OCCURS WHEN STATIONARY OR MOVING. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN JUST AFTER THE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP REPLACED CAMERA, BUT PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. RELYING ON THE CAMERA SCREEN TO FUNCTION WHEN NEEDED AND NOT WORKING, CREATED A NEAR MISS ON HITTING A FIXED OBJECT.
HAD A BRAKE FAILURE IN 08/2016. TOOK TO DEALER, BRAKE BOOSTER & MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. I WAS INFORMED IT WAS COVERED UNDER RECALL. WAS TOLD VEHICLE NEEDS TO RETURN TO REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER AGAIN WHEN REMANUFACTURED PART IS DEVELOPED. TALKED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON 10/25/2016 AND THY ADVISED NEW PARTS ARE IN. ATTEMPTED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD I WASN'T UNDER RECALL (ALTHOUGH I HAVE PAPERWORK). THEY THEN ADVISED ME THAT THEY INSTALLED REMANUFACTURED CYLINDER IN AUGUST (???). I CALLED MAIN FORD HEADQUARTERS TO EXPLAIN AND I ASKED HOW THEY WOULD HAVE HAD THE PART IN AUGUST IF IT WASN'T EVEN AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 4TH QUARTER OF '16 (BY THEIR ADMISSION ON THEIR WEBSITE). REP COULDN'T ANSWER AND SAID SHE WOULD CALL DEALERSHIP. WHEN SHE RETURNED, SHE ONLY STATED, "YES, YOU HAVE THE REMANUFACTURED MASTER CYLINDER". WHEN ASKED HOW SHE COULD ASSURE ME THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE CASE, SHE COULDN'T. I'M SCARED! MY WIFE HAD ONE FAILURE & SURE DON'T WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE ON ANOTHER. IS THERE ANYWAY THAT Y'ALL COULD GET INVOLVED TO ASSURE HER THIS WAS CORRECTLY REPAIRED? I'M THINKING THAT SINCE THEY DID PUT ANOTHER MC IN THE VEHICLE, I WAS REMOVED FROM THE RECALL. WAS DRIVING ON C-470 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD GUNSHOT NOISE. DID A QUICK ASSESSMENT OF WINDSHIELD AND VEHICLE IN MIRRORS. HEARD A CRACKLING SOUND COME FROM THE SUNROOF. PULLED BACK VISOR AND THE SUNROOF WAS COMPLETELY SPIDER CRACKED. GOT HOME LOOKED AT THE SUNROOF FROM THE ROOF AT EYE LINE AND NOTICED A BULGE COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, LIKE TOO MUCH PRESSURE BUILT UP INSIDE THE TRUCK AND EXPLODED THROUGH THE SUNROOF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 23 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO DRIVE INTO A CEMENT WALL TO AVOID CRASHING INTO OTHER VEHICLES. AFTER IMPACT, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNINJURED, BUT VISITED HIS REGULAR PHYSICIAN. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. HAVE LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND ENGINE TWICE AT DIFFERENT INCLINES, LOW/MODERATE SPEEDS AND WHILE OR AFTER TURNING RIGHT. BOTH CAUSED BY A BLOWN FUSE (ONCE FUSE27, THEN AFTER REPAIR FUSE70). DURING THE SECOND OCCASION THIS ALMOST CAUSED A SERIOUS AND SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT. CLEARLY THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AS IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME AFTER REPAIR BY THE DEALERSHIP. LOSS OF POWER IS SUDDEN AND IN MY CASE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART BECAUSE THE FUSE WAS BLOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE THAT CAME FROM THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE INFORMED THE ENGINE BLEW UP DUE TO ECO BOOST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION DURING BRAKING, PARTICULARLY ON THE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE REMEDY AND PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY SLIP INTO "LIMP MODE" AND SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 1-2 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15 AND 70 MPH. THIS SYMPTOM HAS OCCURRED DURING CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING, AS WELL AS WHILE PULLING A TRAILER. THE VEHICLE CAN BE RESTARTED, AND THE ERROR WILL CLEAR; HOWEVER, THE SYMPTOM WILL RANDOMLY OCCUR AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED IN OCTOBER 2016. SINCE THAT DATE, THE SYMPTOM HAS CONTINUED TO INTERMITTENTLY OCCUR AND NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND.
THE REAR DOOR LOCKS, LOCK SOMETIME AND DON'T OTHERS. IT NOW IS STARTING NOT TO UNLOCK AS WELL. IT IS BOTH OF THE REAR DOORS. WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO GET OUT THEY HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPEN FROM OUTSIDE. LET'S PRAY THAT THERE IS NOT AN EMERGECY AND MY KIDS HAVE TO GET AND THE WINDOW WANT COME DOWN.
TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED AND TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING RESULTING IN RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR INJURIES WERE INCURRED. THE VEHICLE ON HAD 43,000 MILES. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED ON A RECALL LIST BUT THAT THEY HAD BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER.
IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016, I PULLED INTO DELACY FORD IN ELMA, NEW YORK. I WAS THERE TO INFORM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS NOT WORKING. AFTER SHUTTING OF THE VEHICLE, AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, ONE THIRD OF THE WINDOW BLEW UP. I WAS INFORMED THAT APPARENTLY FORD WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THOSE WINDOWS. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT NO COST WELL FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER. IT IS NOT WORKING. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE WINDOWS. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT UNLESS I PAID FOR IT. $1800. IF THERE IS SUCH A PROBLEM WITH THESE WINDOWS WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ??

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150 TOWING A COUGAR FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOBBLED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS WERE OVERHEATING. THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW EXPLOSION AFTER RUNNING DEFROSTER FOR 10 MINS. SOUNDED LIKE A GUN WAS DISCHARGED INSIDE OF VEHICLE WHILE SITTING IN DRIVEWAY VERY UNSAFE! HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET AS IT WAS A LIABILITY TO DRIVE WITH SHATTERED GLASS AND FORD WOULD NOT COVER UNDER ESP.
I HAVE A 2014 F-150 3.5L ECOBOOST TRUCK.... IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000 MILES THAT ARE MAINLY LONG HAUL AND NOT SHORT AROUND TOWN STOP/START MILES. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THIS DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IF I TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART THEN IT WILL GO BACK TO FULL POWER FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN CUT OUT AGAIN. THIS IS NO FUN MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE CITY... VERY DANGEROUS IN FACT. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILST DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, DRIVING AROUND THE CITY AND SOMETIMES GOING UP A HILL. I AM NOT A VEHICLE EXPERT AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS THE CAUSE. I VISITED FORD AND EVEN THEY WERE NOT SURE. I WILL VISIT ANOTHER DEALER TO SEE IF I CAN GET BETTER INFORMATION. MY CONCERN IS ABOUT DRIVING ACROSS TOWN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND HAVING THE VEHICLE CUT OUT ON ME AGAIN.
DRIVING ~45 MPH ATTEMPTED TO STOP CAR AT RED LIGHT. PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AND TRUCK ONLY SLOWED, NO COMPLETE BRAKING TO AN ORDINARY STOP. FORTUNATELY, INTERSECTION WAS EMPTY AS TRUCK DIDN'T COMPLETELY STOP UNTIL THROUGH INTERSECTION. INDICATOR & WARNING OF LOW BRAKE FLUID APPEARED AFTER INCIDENT.

THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND CAUSED BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT IN PRODUCTION YET TO RECEIVE THE REPAIR. AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE FOR A DAY, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THE MASTER CYLINDER TO REPLACE THE PART. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE SAME PART WAS REPLACED AND NOT THE NEWLY DESIGNED PART BECAUSE THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED IT WAS NOT YET IN PRODUCTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM THAT THE REMEDY WAS PROVIDED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR BOARD.TOOK TRUCK TO SHOP AND THEY SAID SEAL LEAKED ON MASTER CYLINDER AND FLUID WENT INTO BOOSTER .HAD THEM REPLACE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER
I WAS DRIVING ON A 25MPH STREET AND WAS COMING TO A STOP SIGN, I BEGAN TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND HEARD A SMALL EXPLOSION/BOOM UNDER THE HOOD. I CONTINUED DRIVING AS THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. THE NEXT STOP SIGN I HAD VERY LIMITED BRAKING ABILITY, THE THIRD STOP SIGN I HAD NO ABILITY TO STOP AND WAS FORCED TO USE MY PARKING BRAKE. WITHIN HALF A MILE I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AT ALL AND HAD TO USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS OR WARNINGS ON THE DASH UNTIL AFTER THE TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKING, THE ONLY WARNING I HAD THERE WAS AN ISSUE WAS THE LOUD NOISE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2014 F150 BRAKES FOR DECREASED STOPPING ABILITY, BUT NOT FOR A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THE RECALL NOTICE STATES TO NOT BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE UNTIL THERE IS AN INDICATOR LIGHT OR MESSAGE ON THE DASH - AGAIN, I HAD NEITHER OF THESE WARNINGS. ONCE THE VEHICLE GOT TO THE LOCAL DEALER, I WAS TOLD THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER BOTH FAILED. FORD DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION AND HAS INDICATED IT WILL BE SEVERAL WEEKS IF NOT MORE FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE PARTS. I BELIEVE THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED AND TREATED AS MORE URGENT AS THIS TYPE OF FAILURE COULD LEAD TO FATAL ACCIDENTS - FORTUNATELY I WAS ON A SIDE STREET AND NOT IN TRAFFIC WHEN THIS OCCURRED, OTHERWISE THIS FAILURE WOULD HAVE LED TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. FORD HAS MADE THE DEALER TAKE APART THE FRONT END OF MY TRUCK AND TAKE PICTURES OF THE AREA AROUND THE DEFECTIVE PARTS - I FEEL THEY ARE USING THIS AS A CASE STUDY AND ARE NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THEIR FAILED PARTS THAT COULD CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT.
LOSS OF POWER IN 2014 F150 ECOBOOST. THE PLUGS WERE CHANGED OUT AT 30,000 AND THEY WERE COVERED IN OIL. I HAVE NOTICED THE ENGINE STRUGGLING MORE WHEN I TOW UTV WITH SINLGE AXLE TRAILER. THE POWER IS DIMENISHING WITH MILEAGE. THE OIL (SYNTHETIC) IS CHANGED EVERY 3,000 AN ITS IS SPENT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FROM FORD WHY MY TRUCK AT COLD START IDLES RUFF, DECREASE IN GAS MILEAGE AND NOTICED DECREASE IN TORQUE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR AND A HALF.

STEERING WHEEL SWITCH CONTROLS (CRUISE CONTROL, RADIO, BLUE TOOTH FUNCTIONS) BECOME ERRATIC AND SWITCH FUNCTIONS BECOME JUMBLED (IE. ACTIVATING THE RADIO VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH MAY CHANGE THE RADIO STATION OR INCREASE VEHICLE SPEED). PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, BUT DID OCCUR DURING A DEALER SERVICE VISIT. THE DEALER REPLACED SWITCH PACK, BUT PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I CONDUCTED MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND OTHER F150 OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. SOME HAVE BEEN SOLVED WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING COLUMN CLOCK SPRING. WITH THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF WHEN THIS ISSUE PRESENTS ITSELF I HAVE RESORTED TO NEVER USING THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE DUE TO THE RISK OF UNINTENDED SPEED CHANGES. WHILE THE REMAINING ISSUES ARE INCONVENIENT, I WOULD NOT CLASSIFY THEM AS DANGEROUS. THE CLOCK SPRING ISSUE APPEARS TO BE COMMON ENOUGH TO WARRANT A MORE THOROUGH INVESTIGATION. FOR THOSE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE ARE AT AN INCREASED RISK OF AN INADVERTENT ACTIVATION WHICH MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE DEATH. PERSON WAS PULLING AWAY FROM CURB WHEN BRAKES FAILED. BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. HE IMMEDIATELY SLAMMED THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. UPON LOOKING, SAW THAT THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID. THIS HAPPENED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET.
THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. THIS HAPPENED ON A BACK ROAD BUT IF IT HAD OCCURRED ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHILE PASSING IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. A TROUBLE LIGHT CAME ON BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN THE TROUBLE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE TRUCK WOULD DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CODE WAS NOT HELD IN THE MEMORY SO THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT CHANGE IT UNDER WARRANTY. I KNOW OF ONE OTHER PERSON WITH THE SAME YEAR AND POWER TRAIN THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

ON THE MORNING OF JULY 18, 2016 I EXPERIENCED COMPETE AND TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE ON MY 2014 FORD F150 TRUCK. I HAD DRIVEN THE TRUCK THE NIGHT BEFORE WITH NO PROBLEMS OR WARNINGS OF ANY KIND. I GOT INTO MY TRUCK, CRANKED IT, AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESISTANCE. I TRIED PRESSING IT AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS. JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS, I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER CONCERNING BREAKING ISSUES FROM FORD. HOWEVER, IN THIS LETTER IT SAID THAT THE ISSUE WOULD ONLY AFFECT THE FRONT BRAKES; THE REAR BRAKES WOULD STILL BE USABLE. I CAN ASSURE YOU, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I CONSIDER MYSELF EXTREMELY BLESSED THAT I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT THE TIME OF THE OCCURRENCE. I OWN A 2014 F150 4X4 WITH 3.5 ECO BOOST V6, ON MY WAY TO WORK THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THAN THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT THE WARNING DING. WENT TO HIT BRAKES AND THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD COMPLETE FRONT BRAKE FAILURE AND VERY LITTLE BREAKING IN THE REAR WHEELS. WITH WHAT LITTLE REAR BRAKE I HAD I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN AND LIMP IT TO THE STORE WHERE I CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS EMPTY. THINKING I WAS THE CAUSE I PUT TWO CANS OF FLUID BACK INTO THE SYSTEM TRYING TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. NOT 2 BLOCKS LATER THE BREAKS ARE GONE AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THEY THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE WARRANTY WORK KNOWING FULL WELL IT WAS A RECALL. I WAS NOT INFORMED OR TOLD BY THE DEALER NOR THE FORD OF THE RECALL AND BREAK SYSTEM FAILURE. THEY ALSO REPORT THAT DEALER STOCK PARTS CAN'T BE USED AND THAT FORD HAS TO SENT THEM THE NEW PARTS. GREAT UNTESTED PARTS THAT I CANNOT GET ACCEPT THROUGH DEALERSHIP. I COMPLAINED TO FORD AND THEY HAVE IGNORED ME. THE DEALERSHIP HAS THE TRUCK AND HAS NOT COMMUNICATED AT ALL TO ME IN A WEEK.
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE! VEHICLE: 2014 F150 FORD ECOBOOST 4WD WITH 46,000 MILES I DROVE FROM A PARKED POSITION APPROXIMATELY 100' TO A STOP SIGN WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD WITH NO BRAKING AND A WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH THAT THE BRAKE FLUID IS LOW. I WENT PAST THE STOP SIGN AND THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND STOPPED USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ([XXX]) IN THE MAIL THE DAY THIS HAPPENED (7/18/2016). THE RECALL CAME OUT TWO MONTHS EARLIER BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST NOTIFICATION BY FORD. THE RECALL STATES THE BRAKE FAILURE MAY INVOLVE THE FRONT BRAKES AND NOT THE REAR BRAKES WHICH IS TOTALLY FALSE. IN MY CASE, BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKES WERE INSTANTLY NON-EXISTENT. ADDITIONALLY THE RECALL STATED THAT A LOW FLUID ALARM AND AUDIBLE SIGNAL WOULD NOTIFY DRIVER IF FLUID WAS LOW. THIS ALSO IS INCORRECT. FORD DEALERSHIPS SAY THEY HAVE NO DIRECTIVE TO PERFORM THE WORK AND NOT PARTS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED SO THEIR HANDS ARE TIED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THEIR ESTIMATE IS THAT IT WILL TAKE ONE MONTH TO GET THE PARTS SO MY TRUCK WILL BE OUT OF COMMISSION BETWEEN ONE AND THREE MONTHS. THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN FATAL IF IT HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC OR ON A HIGHWAY INSTEAD OF ON A LIGHTLY TRAVELED SIDE STREET WITH NO TRAFFIC. THIS EVENT APPEARS CONNECTED TO THE FORD F150 MODEL YEAR 13-14 WITH 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER ISSUE.

I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY DEALER. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER TOLD ME I WAS THE SECOND 2014 F150 HE HAD TOWED TODAY FOR THE SAME BRAKE ISSUE. MY DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OUT ON IT BUT I HAVE RECEIVED NO NOTIFICATIONS FROM FORD. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING WHEN THE BRAKE FLUID EMPTIED OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC.
THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED. I HAD JUST UNHOOKED A TRAILER. I PULLED FORWARD AND STOPPED AND THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I PUT IT IN GEAR AND CREEPED FORWARD. ONLY WITH HEAVY PEDAL PUMPING DID I GET SLIGHT BRAKING (AT APPROX 5MPH) THE MASTER CYLINDER TOTALLY EMPTIED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. WHEN FILLING THE MASTER CYLINDER IT LEAKED THE WHOLE BOTTLE INTO THE BOOSTER WITHIN MINUTES THE DEALER STATES THE TRUCK HAS NO BRAKES AT THIS TIME. COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE.
I NOTICED THE TRUCK SEEMED TO LUNGE FORWARD EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE.AS I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, FORD SENT ME A RECALL ON THE BRAKES.(NOT FOR THAT PROBLEM THOUGH). I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALER. THEY INDICATED NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL AT LEAST THE 4TH QUARTER BUT TO BRING IT IN IF THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE PANEL. I AM TRYING TO TRADE THE TRUCK IN OR RETURN IT TO FORD BECAUSE IT IS A LEASE AND THE FORD DEALER DOESN'T WANT IT BECAUSE THEY INDICATED THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE RECALL AT THIS POINT. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED ME $6000 DOLLARS LESS THAN THE VALUE OF THE TRUCK BECAUSE IT HAS A RECALL ON IT. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE PENALIZED TO RECEIVE A REDUCED AMOUNT FOR THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE FORD RECALL. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD ALSO.
