THE BRAKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED WITH VIRTUALLY NO WARNING. I WAS TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE "LOW BRAKE FLUID" LIGHT APPEARED. THERE HAD BEEN NO MECHANICAL SIGNS OF ANY ISSUES. WHEN I EXITED THE INTERSTATE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WITHOUT HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME ON THE OFF RAMP. FORD HAS NOW RELEASED A RECALL ON THIS BUT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX IT YET. I'M NOT SURE IF OR WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO FOR MY VEHICLE BUT I WANTED TO FILE THE REPORT GIVEN THE EXTREME RISK THIS FAILURE POSES. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE TO NOT END UP IN A COLLISION.
WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING ONTO A TWO LANE HIGHWAY WHILE TOWING, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE DISPLAYED WARNING MESSAGE, "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC." AS I WAS ACCELERATING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AT THE TIME OF POWER LOSS, AN UNSAFE CONDITION WAS CREATED AS THE SEMI-TRUCK I PULLED IN FRONT OF NOW HAD TO MAKE EVASIVE MOVEMENTS TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH MY NOW DISABLED TRUCK AND TRAILER IN THE ROADWAY. POWER CAME BACK ON WITH RESTART OF THE TRUCK, BUT ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE SAME LOSS OF POWER AND FAULT MESSAGE. THE CODE P2112 WAS PULLED FROM THE OBD2 READER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WAS IN FACT FIXED WITH REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS HAVE WARPED CAUSING STUDS TO BREAK LEADING TO AN EXHAUST LEAK. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE ENGINES. IT PRODUCES A SQUEALING NOISE UNDER ACCELERATION
ON JULY 24, 2020 WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 291 DRIVING 45-50MPH WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. I THOUGHT I WAS REAR ENDED. SIMULTANEOUSLY THE REAR TIRES LOCKED UP WHILE APPROACHING A WORK ZONE. I SKIDDED UNCONTROLLABLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET. ULTIMATELY CAME TO REST ON THE SHOULDER. AS MY FAMILY AND I EXITED THE VEHICLE THERE WAS HEAVY SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR AND UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE STATE POLICE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE WITHIN 5 MINUTES UPON US EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR SO THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE FLAT BEDDED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP, MARCOTTE FORD, HOLYOKE MA. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THE REAR END FAILED AND LOCKED UP. UPON THEIR TEST DRIVE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A TOTAL FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR A DECISION FROM FORD TO EITHER REBUILD OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. AUGUST 19, 2020 I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT AND THAT I COULD PICK UP THE VEHICLE. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY PRIOR PHONE CALLS FROM THEM TO INFORM ME OF WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT CALLED GROOVE FORD LOCATED AT 10039 E. ARAPAHOE RD, CENTENNIAL, CO 80112, (720) 466-2895, TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,980.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY PULLING A TRAILER THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON WITH A WARNING THAT STATED "SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK AND HILL ASSIST IS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE THEN LOST ALL POWER CAUSING ME TRY ATTEMPT TO CROSS TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT ANY ENGINE POWER. AFTER STOPPING THE ENGINE WAS SHUDDERING. THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED INTO A DEALER TO BE FIXED.THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED CAUSING THE ENGINE TO GO INTO "LIMP" MODE(WHAT EVER THAT IS). THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH AND OUT OF NO WHERE THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH SCREEN. PUSHED ON THE BRAKE AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR, PUMPING THE BRAKE DID NOT HELP. WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY DOWN SHIFT AND STOP WITH THE E BRAKE. LUCKY I WAS NOT IN ANY TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED OPERATE AS DESIGNED EXTENDING THE BRAKING DISTANCE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO COUNTY FORD (18411 LYNDON B JOHNSON FREE WAY, MESQUITE TX 75150), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON CROWDED HIGHWAY IN BOSTON AREA, TRUCK LOST ENGINE POWER. DASH GAVE FOLLOWING WARNINGS: SEE MANUAL, SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT, HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER EMERGENTLY SWITCHING LANES WITH NO ENGINE POWER, I SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN, PAUSED, AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED ~20 TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET IT FIXED. THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY FORD EVEN THOUGH I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD.
MALLOY FORD IN WINCHESTER, VA JUST NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY RECOMMEND THAT THE NEXT TIME THE WHEELS ARE REMOVED THAT ALL 24 OF THE LUG NUTS BE REPLACED FOR $160.00. I KNOW FROM MY PREVIOUS 2009 FORD F150 THAT THE LUG NUTS ARE MADE IN TWO PIECES AND THAT THEY CORRODE AND EXPAND AND EVENTUALLY THE SOCKET WRENCH WILL NOT FIT THE NUT. IMAGINE HAVING A FLAT TIRE ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO REMOVE THE WHEEL TO CHANGE THE TIRE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR A LEAST ELEVEN YEARS AND I BELIEVE LONGER. I HAD TO REPLACE THE LUG NUTS ON MY 2009 F150. THE TECH TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD GO ONLINE AND FIND (NON FORD) ONE PIECE LUG NUT REPLACEMENTS BECAUSE FORD'S DESIGN WILL ONLY CORRODE AGAIN. WHY IS THIS STILL HAPPENING?
WE RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 20S31/NHTSA RECALL 20V-332 ON OUR 2015 FORD F-150. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WILLING TO REPLACE OUR MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER UNDER THE RECALL UNTIL IT ACTUALLY FAILS, OR WE SEE THE RED BRAKE WARNING SIGNAL ETC. CONSIDERING WE USE THE TRUCK TO PULL OUR 6,000 LB. 25FT. AIRSTREAM WE DON'T FEEL IT IS A SAFE SITUATION TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF PULLING THE AIRSTREAM AND JUST WAITING TO SEE IF THE BRAKE FAILS. WE MAY BE HOURS FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP WHEN IT HAPPENS. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD FOR THEIR SEEMING INDIFFERENCE & WILLINGNESS TO JUST WAIT UNTIL PEOPLE CRASH INTO OTHER CARS AND DO BODILY HARM BEFORE THEY WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF FIXING AN OBVIOUS SAFETY RECALL ISSUE. NEVER BEFORE HAVE WE EVER HAD A RECALL NOTICE WHERE WE HAD FIRST TO PROVE OUR VEHICLE HAD FAILED BEFORE THEY FIXED THE RECALL ISSUE. EVERYONE KEPT TELLING ME THAT ONLY A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE VEHICLES THAT RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE THE BRAKES FAIL, SO WHY WORRY? JUST KEEP DRIVING & HOPE FOR THE BEST? THE LETTER SAYS IT'S DUE TO A PART SHORTAGE & WE'D BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT THE DEALER & AN FORD OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR SAID THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER WOULD NOT BE FIXED ON OUR VEHICLE UNLESS THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS, REGARDLESS OF THE SAFETY RECALL. I'VE WASTED A WEEK OF MY LIFE TALKING TO FORD, AND WAITING FOR CALL BACKS & BASICALLY AM JUST BEING BLOWN OFF..AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT BRAKE FAILURES!! THIS WAS OUR 3RD FORD VEHICLE OVER THE YEARS, BUT LIKELY OUR LAST. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR THEIR CONCERN ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY ONCE THEY'VE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING 60 ON A 2 LANE RURAL HIGHWAY, THE CLUSTER LIGHTS UP WITH 'HILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE' AND ENGINE LOSES POWER AND TRUCK STARTS SHAKING EVEN WHEN STOPPED. TURNED TRUCK OFF AND BACK ON AND WORKED FINE. HAPPENED ONCE MORE AND NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
I OWN A 2015 FORD F150. I WAS DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY DECELERATED. THE WRENCH AND LIMP MODE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE CODE P2112 OCCURRED. I HAD TO COAST MY VEHICLE ON TO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I HAD TO STOP AND RESTART NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE I COULD MAKE IT HOME, OFF OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. WHEN IT STALLED ON ME THE NEXT DAY, I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER AND PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED A FAILURE CODE AT THE THROTTLE BODY.
VEHICLE FAILED TO START DUE TO TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR FAULT. CODES P0706, AND P0707.
AS I WAS APPROACHING A 4-WAY INTERSECTION, I APPLIED THE BRAKES. IT SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN AND CAME TO A STOP, BUT AS I WAS WAITING AT THE LIGHT THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THIS IS THE SECOND BAKE LINE THAT HAS FAILED. IN THE PAST 6-8 MONTHS, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LINE FAILED; THIS TIME IT IS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE.
1. 11/09/2019 VEHICLE WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WHEN ENTERING THE I-84 FREEWAY FROM A FREEWAY ON-RAMP AT WOOD VILLAGE, OREGON. VEHICLE LOST POWER, WOULD NOT EXCEED 5 MPH, DASH LIGHTS (WRENCH LIGHT) CAME ON. VEHICLE PARTIALLY BLOCKED TRAFFIC AT INTERSECTION OF FREEWAY AND ON RAMP CAUSING A DANGEROUS TRAFFIC PROBLEM FOR OVER 1 HOUR BEFORE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED.. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALER. DIAGNOSTIC CODES WERE NOT AVAILABLE UPON RESTART AT DEALER TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM, NO REPAIR WAS MADE. HOW CAN FORD HAVE A "LIMP MODE" WHICH ESSENTIALLY SHUTS DOWN THE VEHICLE (STUTTERS, STALLS, NO POWER) WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHEN DIAGNOSTIC CODES AUTOMATICALLY RESET AT NEXT STARTUP? 2. 07/02/20 VEHICLE WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WHILE DRIVING ON BUSY COUNTY ROAD NEAR MY HOME. USING COUNTY ROADS AND CITY STREETS, VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN IN "LIMP MODE" AT LOW SPEED (5 MPH OR LESS FOR 7 MILES TO FORD DEALER. OTHER VEHICLES WERE FORCED TO PASS IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, BIKE LANES WERE BLOCKED AND INTERSECTIONS WERE PARTIALLY BLOCKED BECAUSE OF THE SLOW SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS AFRAID TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE PREVIOUS INCIDENT WHERE THAT ACTION CLEARED THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES. VEHICLE WAS LEFT RUNNING AT THE FORD DEALER AND REPAIRED BY THEM BY READING THE CODES AND REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. IT IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE A FAILURE THAT INITIATES A "LIMP MODE" CONDITION THAT PLACES THE VEHICLE IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE THE UNDERLYING CONDITION CANNOT BE EASILY DIAGNOSED IF VEHICLE IS SUBSEQUENTLY RESTARTED. THIS WILL, OF COURSE HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING TOWED OR DRIVEN TO THE DEALER IF THE DEALER CANNOT IMMEDIATELY READ THE CODES. I FEEL THAT FORD PUT ME IN HARMS WAY TWICE DUE TO THIS FAULTY "LIMP MODE' SYSTEM. FURTHER, I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE RELIABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE FOR FUTURE USE.

WHEN TRUCK SITS OVERNIGHT AND I START IT , IT EMITS A BLUISH WHITE SMOKE FOR 5-15 SECONDS. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS AND THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER CAN LEAK INTO THE BOOSTER ,BUT MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED. IS MY VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE?
BACK SLIDING WINDOW. THE TRACK ISN'T PROPERLY SECURED TO THE WINDOW CAUSING IT TO RATTLE AND THE WINDOW TO FALL OUT AND RAIN COME INSIDE THE TRUCK
ENGINE LOST POWER SUDDENLY AND STALLED, I HAD A WRENCH LAMP COME UP WITH THE FOLLOWING FAULTS: SERVICE ADVANCETRAC/ HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT. THIS HAPPENED ON A BRIDGE ON A HIGHWAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY. I PRESSED THE THROTTLE BUT THE ENGINE WENT INTO "LIMP" MODE, NO RESPONSE FROM THE THROTTLE WHATSOEVER. ALMOST GOT HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK FROM THE REAR. TOOK IT TO FORD, FOR 2 WEEKS THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SAID IT'S GOOD TO GO. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER WHEN I WAS CLOSE TO WORK. STOPPED BY A LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOP SINCE I DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. WE READ THE CODE AND IT SHOWED A "P2112 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK CLOSED". I GOT A NEW THROTTLE BODY INSTALLED FOR 376$, AND NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN. APPARENTLY IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD F150S MADE IN SPECIFIC DATES. DID SOME DIGGING, FORD ISSUED A TECHINCAL BULLETIN TSB 16-0139 WITH THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY SIMILAR TO RECALL 13N03 ' THROTTLE BODY EXTENDED COVERAGE ' 2009-2013 FORD & MERCURY I TOOK THE OLD THROTTLE BODY APART, THERE WAS A LOT OF OIL BUILDUP INSIDE THAT INTERFERED WITH THE MOTOR CONTROLLING THE BUTTERFLY VALVE.
I HAVE 2015 F150 WITH THE ECO BOOST 2.7 LITER ENGINE. IT HAS ROUGHLY 60,000 MILES. FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN IT SITS OVERNIGHT AND YOU START IT IN THE MORNING IT EMITS A BLUISH WHITE SMOKE FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. I DID SEE WHERE THERE IS A COLD START PROBLEM WITH SOME OF THESE VEHICLES AND MAYBE PULLING BRAKE FLUID IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. I LOOKED UP THE VIN NUMBER ON THE RECALL AND MINE HAS NOT SHOWN UP. I AM CONCERNED THAT MINE IS DONG THE SAME THING AS SPECIFIED ON THIS RECALL BUT HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED. *TR
I HAVE A TOW PACKAGE THAT WAS FACTORY INSTALLED AND THE LAST TIME I HOOKED THE TUCK IT TO MY TRAILER THE ELECTRIC BRAKES ON THE TRAILER WERE LOCKED UP AND I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING IN THE TRUCK.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD EARLY IN THE MORNING AND LOST BOTH FRONT AND BACK BRAKES. WHEN THE BRAKE WAS PRESSED DOWN COMPLETELY THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP; PUMPING THE BRAKE CAUSED THE TRUCK TO SLOW BUT NOT QUICKLY. WE SAW AN EMPTY MALL AREA AND HEADED TOWARDS THE PARKING LOT AND COASTED TO A STOP. HAD WE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY OR LATER IN THE DAY DURING TRAFFIC THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WE WERE DRIVING ON A 2 LANE ROAD IN A CITY AREA GOING ABOUT 40 MPH. WE WERE VERY VERY LUCKY - THIS COULD EASILY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. LOCAL BRAKE COMPANY WERE ABLE TO GET THE BRAKES WORKING AND WE DROVE THE TRUCK BACK TO THE HOUSE - A FEW HOUR DRIVE. RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE RECALL ABOUT 3-4 DAYS AFTER THE BRAKES FAILED AND WE DID NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD US NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE THE FIX HAD NOT BEEN SOLVED BY FORD, WE ASKED IF THE TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE AND THEY COULD NOT ANSWER AS THE RECALL IS UNCLEAR. WE ASKED THE DEALER IF WE COULD DROP TRUCK OFF AND THEY COULD FIX AND THEY TOLD US NO BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE PARTS AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE FIX WAS GOING TO BE. CALLED FORD AND TALKED TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON AND THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM TAKE THE TRUCK SINCE NEITHER FORD OR THE DEALER COULD TELL US IF THE TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE. THE DEALER TOLD US THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE TRUCK TO DETERMINE IF THE TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE - THAT WAS JUNE 27, 2020 AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM DEALER. CALLED DEALER AGAIN ON 07.16.20 AND TALKED AND THEY STILL DID NOT KNOW AND WOULD CALL BACK, NO CALL BACK AS OF 11PM 06/18/2020
THIS VEHICLE EXPERIENCES EXACTLY THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS AS THE FOLLOWING NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V614000 YET IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAS ACTED IN THIS WAY AT LEAST 10 TIMES, THE MOST RECENT ON JUNE 24, 2020. THE VEHICLE MAY FALL JUST OUTSIDE THE PREVIOUSLY DETERMINED MANUFACTURE DATE WINDOW THAT DETERMINED THE RECALL POOL. FORD WILL NOT PERFORM THE SOFTWARE UPDATE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM AS THE VEHICLE IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. PLEASE RECONSIDER THE VEHICLES INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AS MINE MAY HAVE BEEN MISSED IN ERROR. WHILE DRIVING MY LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY COMPLETE, NOT PARTIAL, COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DOWNSHIFT SOME AND CONTINUE STRAIGHT. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS A FAULT WITH THE SEATBELT AIRBAGS THAT WOULD INFLATE FROM THE SEATBELTS IN THE INSTANCE OF AN ACCIDENT. WHILE SITTING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN I FELT A LITE THUMP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO LIGHT OR WARNING SOUNDS AT ALL. PUMPED PEDAL AND BRAKES WERE OK. GOT HOME SHUT OFF AND STEPPED ON PETAL AND IT WENT TO FLOOR AGAIN. CHECKED FLUID AND IT WAS LOW SO I FILLED UP WITH DOT 3 FLUID. THEN I NOTICED FLUID ON DRIVEWAY ON RIGHT SIDE NEAR FRONT WHEEL. LOOKED UNDER TRUCK AND NOTICED FLUID ALL OVER. UPON LOOKING FURTHER IT WAS COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE. I THINK THIS IS A PRE-MATURE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE HOSE. I ORDERED THIS TRUCK AND TOOK DELIVERY IN SEPTEMBER 2015 AND IT ONLY HAS 64,000 MILES ON IT. THE THING THAT SCARES ME MOST IS I JUST GOT DONE DRIVING BACK FROM FLORIDA TO NJ TOWING MY WIFES 2018 FORD ESCAPE ON A TOW DOLLY. GOD IF THAT HAPPENED TOWING WE WOULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. I BURNED THROUGH 1 GALLON OF BRAKE FLUID GETTING IT THERE. I FOUND OUT THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS GOING FROM THE RESERVOIR TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THEN VACUUM TO THE ENGINE AND BEING BURNED UP THAT WAY. *TR
BRAKE FAILURE. BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL IT HIT A TREE. I PRESSED THE BRAKE, STARTED THE CAR. THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT FEEL ABNORMAL. WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE PEDAL, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. THE PEDAL IMMEDIATELY WENT SOFT AND COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. SINCE I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY ONLY PLANNING TO MOVE THE VEHICLE BACK ABOUT 3 FEET, I DID NOT CLOSE THE DOOR. AFTER INCIDENT I TURNED ON POWER TO VEHICLE WITHOUT STARTING TO RECORD THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE FOR MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THAT IS WHEN THE LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING CAME ON. *TR
2015 FORD F150 BRAKE FAILURE, EARLY JUNE 2020. VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 50K MILES WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO ACCIDENT AS THE FAILURE HAPPENED OVERNIGHT. BRAKES SEEMED FINE AFTER A 660 MILE TRIP WITH A TRAILER IN TOW. PARKED THE VEHICLE AND THE NEXT MORNING THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THEIR WAS ALMOST NO BRAKE FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR. I TOWED THE VEHICLE TO FORD AUTO NATION IN THE DFW AREA AND IT REQUIRED A $1400 REPAIR. TODAY I LEARNED OF THE RECALL - RECALL 20S31. THIS REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETED FREE OF CHARGE PARTS AND LABOR. I HAD THE FORD DEALER DO THE WORK, I ASSUME I AM ENTITLED TO A 100% REFUND? ANY HELP I CAN GET WOULD BE APPRECIATED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD APPROX 50MPH POWER STEERING WAS LOST. ERRORS DISPLAYED ON DASH FOR ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST FAULT, ADVANCETRAC FAULT, HILL START ASSIST FAULT. ALSO NO CRUISE CONTROL. AFTER PARKING OVERNIGHT, PROBLEM WAS NOT PRESENT ON RESTART; AFTER 5MIN OF DRIVING, ALL FAULTS REAPPEARED AND HAVE PERSISTED CONTINUALLY WITHOUT GOING AWAY.
THE TRUCK COMPLETELY LOST POWER ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE. THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING, BUT NO POWER TO MANEUVER PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IN JEOPARDY. I WAS LUCKY IT DID NOT STALL IN A DIFFERENT PLACE, OR THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. FORD DEALER REPLACED IT AT A COST OF $500. *TR
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERED AND SHIFTED AWKWARDLY WHILE DRIVING STREET/HIGHWAYS. INSPECTED UNDER VEHICLE AFTER RETURNING HOME AND FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING ALONG BOTTOM OF TRUCK. FOUND THE CAUSE WAS CORRODED AUXILIARY TRANSMISSION COOLER AND CORRODED LINES / FITTINGS AT COOLER LEAKING. *TR
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY SATURDAY MAY 30 AND WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. THE BRAKES WERE BARELY USABLE AND THE PEDAL HAD NO PRESSURE AND STOPPED JUST OFF THE FLOOR. I COULD USE THE BRAKES BUT VERY SLOW TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I COULD USE THE PEDAL FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKES BUT JUST BARELY. I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE AT 65MPH , TOWING A 23' BOAT, I WAS NOT USING THE BRAKES AT THE TIME OF FAILURE, THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. I HAD THE TRUCK SERVICED ON MAY 13TH AND HAD CASUALLY LOOKED THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TRIP AND NOTED NO PROBLEMS. I STOPPED BOUGHT FLUID AND FILLED THE FLUID RESERVOIR AND 15 MILES LATER THE SAME WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. STOPPED AND LOOKED FOR LEAKS UNDER VEHICLE AND AT EACH WHEEL AND NOTHING EVIDENT. HAD SOMEONE MEET ME AND TOW THE BOAT FOR ME AS I LIMPED THE VEHICLE TO DEALER. *TR
MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE - 2015 FORD F150 S-CREW 56K MILES. . WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND FLUID LEVEL WARNING APPEARED. ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED REPLACEMENT. FORTUNATELY WHEN THIS OCCURRED I HAD JUST STARTED THE VEHICLE TO RETURN HOME FROM WORK. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE ON THE 2013 AND 2014 MODEL, BUT NOT FOR THE 2015 WHICH SEEMS TO BE FOLLOWING SUIT. *TR

A recent recall on F250’s, 350’s and other ford fleets on the reverse camera not operating intermittently. It’s a known issue. I reported it to my local ford dealer back in 2019 and they said I would need to drop the truck off for over a week just for diagnosis. Single vehicle family here. It’s a big loss of situational awareness in areas like parking lots and with more people walking around with their phones in their faces like zombies, and with the camera inoperative, has greater potential of loss of life or damage to property.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. *TR
THE SYNC SYSTEM FAILS TO TURN AND/OR SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING DURING VEHICLE USE. THE SYNC SYSTEM INCLUDES NAVIGATION, BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES, RADIO, ETC. MY SYNC SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED FOR OVER 10 DAYS NOW. A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE MAKES IT APPARENT THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE OVER SEVERAL DIFFERENT FORD MODELS AND SEVERAL DIFFERENT YEARS.
WHILE DRIVING MY LOCAL ROADS AT ABOUT 45 MPH I RECEIVED A WARNING ON THE DASH FOR "LOW BRAKE FLUID" FOLLOWED BY A SOLID LIT BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH. I MADE IT HOME WITH NOTICEABLY SPONGY BRAKE PEDALING. I OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY DOWN TO THE SENSOR CONNECTED ON THE SIDE. I FILLED IT WITH THE APPROPRIATE BRAKE FLUID TO JUST BELOW THE MAX LINE. I PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL IT FELT NORMAL AGAIN. IT HAS NOT MOVED SINCE YESTERDAY (APRIL 8 2020). TODAY (APRIL 9 2020), I GO TO TAKE A SHORT TRIP FOR COFFEE. WHEN I START THE TRUCK AND TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT IMMEDIATELY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE TRUCK, I IMMEDIATELY POPPED THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THE RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY THIS TIME. OVERNIGHT IT APPEARS THAT THE ENTIRETY OF THE BRAKE RES. WAS DRAINED AND IT HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE BEING TOPPED OFF. NO LEAKING UNDER THE TRUCK NOR ON THE DRIVEWAY HAS BEEN NOTICED. IT IS BEING TOWED TO FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TODAY FOR THIS BRAKE ISSUE. I'M LUCKY I WAS NOT GOING AT HIGHER SPEEDS WHEN THIS OCCURRED SEEMINGLY SO ABRUPTLY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, MY LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING COME ON, I PULLED OVER AND HAD TO CRUISE TO A STOP BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARDLY RESPONDING. AFTER GETTING 2 12 OZ. BOTTLES OF BRAKE FLUID BROUGHT TO ME, I FILLED UP AND PUMPED THEM UP, SEEMED OK SO I STARTED AGAIN, LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 5 MILES. BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. DID THIS 2 MORE TIMES, DUMPING MORE THAN A GALLON OF BRAKE FLUID INTO THE RESERVOIR. MECHANIC HAS FOUND NO LEAKS IN THE LINES.
