THE "MOON ROOF" ON THE TRUCK WHEN I WENT TO OPEN IT BECAME "JAMMED" AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TO CLOSED POSITION NOR WOULD IT OPEN THEREFORE IT WAS (THE PASSENGER SIDE) NOT AN AIR/WATER TIGHT SEAL. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A $2300 REPAIR. THE REPAIR, TO THIS DAY IS STILL NOT 100% CORRECT. IN LOOKING ON LINE MINE IS NOT THE ONLY TRUCK THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THE MECHANICS OF IT AS I HAVE OPEN AND CLOSED THE MOON ROOF, AT THE MAXIMUM OF, 12 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED IN 2016, SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT WITH THAT FEATURE TO BE USED SO SELDOM AND WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN THE COST BEING SO EXTREME.
I WAS LEAVING THE HOUSE WHEN THE DASH DISPLAY TOLD ME I WAS LOW ON BRAKE FLUID.FOUND IT A BIT ODD SO I ADDED FLUID. SHORTLY DOWN THE ROAD THE MESSAGE CAME ON AS I WAS FIXING TO COME TO A STOP AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I NEARLY HIT A MINIVAN. I LIMPED IT BACK HOME AT A VERY SLOW ROLL AND PARKED IT. I HAVE A CALL IN WITH FORD SEEING IF THEY PLAN ON DOING ANYTHING SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, DOESNT LOOK LIKE I AM GOING TO GET ANYWHERE WITH THEM. APPEARS I AM GONNA HAVE TO SHELL OUT THE CASH AND GET IT FIXED ON MY OWN DIME.
SUN-MOON ROOT WILL NOT OPEN,GLASS BINDING/STICKING,GLASS STUCK OPEN OR CLOSED,WOULD NOT WORK WHILE STATIONARY, AND ALSO IN MOTION
AUTO START/STOP CAUSING WRENCH TO COME UP. SEEMS LIKE TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUE KEEPING PROPER FUEL LEVEL TO RESTART AT RED LIGHTS. CAUSES A HARD START. ALSO DRIVER DOOR DOES NOT LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH THE OTHER 3 DOORS.
WHEN ACCELERATING, ABOUT 90% OF THE TIME THE VEHICLE WILL GET WARNINGS FOR "HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT" AND "ADVANCE TRACK SERVICE". WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE ANYMORE AND STARTS SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE GETTING ONTO THE INTERSTATE IN THE PAST MONTH BUT LUCKILY NO VEHICLES WERE COMING UP BEHIND ME. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THOUGH THAT FORD NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE AND FIX. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING IT BUT EVERYONE ONLINE SAYS THAT IT'S LIKELY TO BE THE STEERING RACK. RECALL THE STEERING RACK BECAUSE THIS HAS APPARENTLY HAPPENED TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.
I STOPPED WHILE PULLING A TRAILER, FUELED MY VEHICLE, HOPPED BACK IN AND THE TRAILER BRAKES WERE ON CONSTANTLY. I DISCONNECTED 7 WAY PLUG AND TRAILER BRAKES RELEASED. I TESTED TRAILER BRAKING OUTPUT AT THE 7 PIN PLUG AND THE BRAKE OUTPUT WAS STUCK ON. I TURNED THE GAIN DOWN TO ZERO AND IT WAS STILL STAYING ON. I CHECKED THE TRAILER FOR A SHORT AND ALL CHECK SHOWED TRAILER WIRING AS OK. I FOUND ON AN F150 FORUM MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO 2015 AND 2016 F150'S AND DEALERS REPLACING THE TRAILER BRAKES MODULE AND THE TOW MODULE.
AS I TURN MY TRUCK TO THE LEFT THE STEERING GETS STUCK A BIT AND REQUIRES FORCE TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL BACK FROM THAT POSITION. SOMETHING APPEARS TO BE GETTING HUNG UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOP RAIL ON THE REAR SLIDING GLASS RATTLED AND VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE TOP RAIL OF THE VEHICLE WAS HELD TOGETHER BY DOUBLE SIDED TAPE. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO TWO RIVERS FORD INC LOCATED AT (76 BELINDA PKWY, MT. JULIET, TN 37122) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALER WAS UNAWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.
TAILGATE OPENS SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. THE TAILGATE HAS AN ELECTRONIC RELEASE MECHANISM. AFTER CHECKING TO ENSURE THE TAILGATE WAS SECURE IT HAS RELEASED FIVE SEPARATE TIMES. ONCE IN THE GARAGE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PAINT ON THE TAILGATE AFTER OPENING THE GARAGE DOOR AND ONCE ON THE FRONT OF A CAR PARKED BEHIND THE TRUCK. FORTUNATELY I DIDN'T HAVE CARGO IN THE BACK.
CODE P1450- FUEL TANK IS UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM, AND THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AT THE ENGINE. IT IS A DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK PRESSURE. DUE TO THIS DEFECT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND A PIECE NOW NEEDS TO BE REMOVED.
TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER AND 5 MINUTES LATER AS I WAS PARKING AT THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED. LOUD POP NOISE AND AWFUL BURNING SMELL. BACK GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED.
LL HAVE TO DO WITH THE CRANKSHAFT / CAMSHAFT SENSORS. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT IS SAID THAT FORD NEVER FIXED THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY IT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY, MANY FORD OWNERS.
HARD SHIFT THAT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HIT THE BACK OF MY TRUCK. STUCK WITH $200 BILL EVERY TIME I COME IN AND TOLD NO FAULT CODES BUT NEW SOFTWARE IS OUT. 1ST NOTICE AT 43000 MILES WHEN I 1ST GOT THE TRUCK (USED FROM FAMILY THAT GOT IT NEW).
FORD F-150 HAD A RECALL 10/2018 FOR DOOR LATCH ACTUATION. PHIL LONG FORD DID THE RECALL 11/2018 HOWEVER 12/2019 I HAD TO REPLACE THE DOOR ACTUATOR ON MY PASSENGER SIDE AND NOW MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR IS BROKEN AS WELL. SO WHATEVER THE RECALL DID OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T FIX MY DOOR SITUATION ACTUALLY ONLY CAUSED THE ISSUES.
TIRE TREAD SEPARATION ON FEDERAL COURAGIA TIRE. ONLY ONE TIRE HAS A SEPARATION ON THE RIGHT HAND WALL OF TIRE. NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS VEERING TO ONE SIDE, SO VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. MANUFACTURED WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THIS BUT CLAIM THAT THERE ARE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON THIS TIRE. THE OPTION TO CHOOSE TIRE MODEL DIDN'T HAVE THIS PARTICULAR TIRE MODEL. THE TIRE MODEL IS: FEDERAL COURAGIA M/T
HEATED SEAT CONNECTOR UNDER PASSENGER SEAT HAD A BURNT GROUND CONNECTOR AND A BURNING PLASTIC SMELL. FIRE HAZARD. REPLACED CONNECTOR OUT OF POCKET IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORD TSB ON THIS ISSUE.
CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS OFF DURING OPERATION. INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT TURN ON. ANALOG SPEEDOMETER WILL INDICATE SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 40MPH SLOWER THAN REAL SPEED. STUCK AT 40MPH WHEN COMES TO COMPLETE STOP.
I HAVE A 2015 FORD F150. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I GET A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WHILE I AM TRYING TO CENTER MY STEERING WHEEL AFTER TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT AND SOMETIMES IT MAKES ME GO INTO ANOTHER LANE FROM TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING, THE LOW SERVICE BRAKES WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FIRM WHILE BEING DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES OF DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOFT AND THE BRAKES TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE PARKING BRAKES WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKES MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CONTACTED BRAD HOWELL FORD LOCATED AT 2170 E BLVD ST, KOKOMO, IN 46902, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE RUBBING AND SHAKING. SOMEONE SAID MAKE THE HUBS AND BEARINGS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES, STRUCTURE). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE MC MAHON FORD COMPANY LOCATED AT (3300 S. KINGS HIGHWAY BLVD, SAINT LOUIS, MO 63139), HOWEVER, THE DOOR WOULD BECOME UNLATCHED AT ANY BUMP ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,523.
I WAS DRIVING UP MY DRIVEWAY AND MY REAR WINDOW MADE A LOAD POPPING SOUND AND COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OF ANY KIND. THERE IS ALSO A NOTICEABLE ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL IN THE CAB.
MY TRUCKS TAIL GATE LATCH IS STUCK CLOSED AND THE MECHANISM WON'T WORK. I CAN'T OPEN THE TAIL GATE AND IT'S LOCKED SHUT. I USE IT FOR WORK DAILY AND NEED ACCESS TO THIS. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE F-150'S FROM 2015-2017 AS WELL AND THEY HAVE THE PROBLEM WHERE THEIR TAIL GATES EITHER STOP WORKING AND GET LOCKED SHUT OR HAVE BEEN LOCKED OPEN AND CAN'T SHUT THEM. THERE ARE MANY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE AND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES ON DIFFERENT FORUMS TALKING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON 2015-2017 F-150 ALL THE UP TO F-350'S. YOU CAN HEAR THE MECHANISM TRYING TO UNLIKE BECAUSE IT'S AN ELECTRONIC LOCKING/UNLOCKING SYSTEM BUT IT WON'T OPEN. TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE REPLACING THESE ACTUATORS IN THE TAIL GATE WITH THEIR OWN MONEY AND I BELIEVE FORD AND IT'S SUPPLIERS SHOULD BE RESOLVING THIS ISSUE. I USE MY TRUCKS FOR WORK DAILY AND NEED TO GET INTO MY TRUCK BED, BUT WITH A TONNEAU COVER ON IT, I'LL BE LOCKED OUT OF MY OWN BED, SO I CAN'T EVEN PUT A COVER ON IT TO KEEP MY TOOLS LOCKED UP AND SAFE. I HAVE AN OLD 2002 F-150 AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH DOORS OR THE BACK TAIL GATE WHICH I STILL USE DAILY ON THAT TRUCK ALSO FOR WORK. NOT SURE WHY THESE NEWER TRUCKS HAVE SUCH CHEAP OR BAD PARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE BRAKE CEASED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DOWNSHIFT THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT TOPPED OFF THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER, THE BRAKE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN UNNAMED DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 162,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal was depressed several times for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front brake hose, brake fluid, and brake system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,700.
VEHICLE LETS WATER INTO THE DOORS. WATER DOES NOT DRAIN PROPERLY. SEAT BELTS GET ICED OVER IN COLD WEATHER, CAUSING THEM TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY DO NOT RETRACT, HOLD TENSION.
WHILE TRYING TO PASS A DUMP TRUCK ON THE INTERSTATE WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE ON, VEHICLE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME TO SLAM ON THEIRS TO AVOID HITTING ME.. I NOTICED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS BEFORE IN 2015, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF THIS.. IT IS A VERY SERIOUS ROAD HAZARD!!
THE ENGINE HAS REPEATEDLY HAD CYLINDER MISFIRES OVER THE PAST 100,00 MILES AND 2 YEARS. IT'S HAPPENED MANY TIMES WITH DIFFERENT CYLINDERS. REPLACING THE COILPACK RESOLVES THE ISSUE BUT IT RETURNS AFTER A FEW WEEKS. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE MOISTURE PROBLEM WITH THE TURBO INTERCOOLER THAT ALREADY HAS SEVERAL REPORTS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND USUALLY WHILE ACCELERATING. IT HAPPENS MOST OFTEN DURING WET CONDITIONS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER AND THE VEHICLE SLOWS CONSIDERABLY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
TRUCK SUDDENLY DECELERATED WHILE TRAVELING AT 70MPH. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF TRUCK AND TURNED ON AGAIN AND ACCELERATED ONTO THE FREEWAY. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ON THE FREEWAY. DROVE TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN ALBUQUERQUE FOR HELP. THEY EVALUATED AND FOUND THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THIS SAME PART WAS A SAFETY RECALL ITEM ON OUR 2010 FORD ESCAPE.
WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTINUE TO OPERATE IN LOW INTERMITTENT WHEN THE SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION - THE DRIVER CANNOT TURN OFF THE WIPERS. ANY TIME THE TRUCK'S ENGINE IS ON, THE WIPERS RUN. FORD MOTOR COMPANY PUBLISHED ONLINE TSB 15-0061 ON APRIL 27, 2015, WHICH ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM FOR MODEL YEARS 2011-2014 FOR EXPLORERS, F150'S, EDGES, MKX'S AND F-SUPER DUTY VEHICLES. THE BULLETIN CALL FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A "NEW WIPER/MALFUNCTION SWITCH, WHICH AT MY DEALER COSTS $900. OBVIOUSLY, A VEHICLE CANNOT BE SAFELY OPERATED WITH THE WIPER RUNNING IN DRY WEATHER. EVENTUALLY, THE WIPER BLADES WOULD MELT AND STREAK THE WINDSHIELD, THUS BLURRING THE DRIVER'S VISION. REPAIRING THE PROBLEM IS NOT IS NOT OPTIONAL, IT MUS BE DONE. FORD KNEW IT HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE EQUIPMENT IN MODEL YEARS 2011-2014. I HAVE A 2015 AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. NOT ONLY HAVE THEY NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM INN NEWER MODELS, THEY FAILED TO RE-ENGINEER THE WIPER SYSTEM TO MAKE THE REPAIR LESS COSTLY. REPLACING THE SWITCH REQUIRES DISASSEMBLING AND REASSEMBLING THE STEERING COLUMN, WHICH IS LABOR INTENSIVE AND THUS EXPENSIVE. FORD HAS MANAGED TO LIMIT ITS EXPOSURE BY CALLING THE PROBLEM A WARRANTY ISSUE. I COMMUTE 80 MILES A DAY IN METRO ATLANTA. THE WEATHER HAS BEEN RELATIVELY DRY IN RECENT YEARS, SO I BLEW THROUGH THE MILEAGE LIMITS ON THE WARRANTY WITH LITTLE NEED TO USE MY WIPERS. WORKING WIPERS ARE NECESSARY SAFETY EQUIPMENT. FORD KNEW THEY HAD A PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS, BUT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE COST IS NOT AFFORDABLE FOR MANY AMERICANS. FORD SHOULD BARE THE BURDEN OF REPAIRING EQUIPMENT THAT THEY KNEW WAS FAULTY, BUT CONTINUED TO INSTALL IN NEW VEHICLES.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the oil pan was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while he was inspecting the vehicle, he noticed an excessive amount of oil leaking from the oil pan. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the oil pan and valve cover were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where they placed a temporary seal around the oil pan. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
THE WIPERS QUIT WORKING WHEN THE RIGHT BLINKER IS ON. WHEN THE RIGHT BLINKER IS ON TO SIGNAL A TURN, THE WIPERS QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT MODE THE BLINKERS ARE IN (FAST, SLOW, INTERMITTENT) ONCE THE RIGHT BLINKER IS OFF, THE WIPERS WILL BEGIN TO WORK AGAIN. VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. I BELIEVE THE MULTI-FUNCTION DEVICE IS DEFECTIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW GLASS WAS LOOSE AND OFF TRACK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MURRAY FORD KINGSLAND (2030 GA-40, KINGSLAND, GA 31548) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
I HAD A SIGNIFICANT FRONT END COLLISION AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS TRAVELING AT LEAST 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE.

THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO PINPOINT A PINHOLE SIZED LEAK HOWEVER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NICK ABRAHAM ELYRIA FORD LOCATED AT 1115 E BROAD ST, ELYRIA, OH 44035, (440) 366-3673, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PINPOINT A LOCATION FOR THE POSSIBLE EXHAUST LEAK. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NO REPAIRS WOULD BE MADE IF THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,500.
WIPER FLUID TUBING CONSTRICTED IN COLD WEATHER, NO FLUID COMES OUT. USING -20F WIPER FLUID, NO PROBLEMS IN OTHER VEHICLES, IN F150 NOTHING COMES OUT BELOW 15F. ONCE ABOVE 25F, WORKS FINE. DID GET REPLACEMENT TUBING FROM DELAER, SAME PROBLEM.

DRIVING DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE & HEARD A LOUD NOISE THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED
ALL FOUR DOORS FREEZE SHUT AND CANNOT BE OPENED. AT ONE POINT I WAS ABLE TO YANK OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR BUT IT WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT. I BROUGHT TO FORD LAST WINTER FOR RECALL FIX AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY ACCOMPLISHED IT.
WHEN ACCELERATING , THERE IS A LOUD CHIRPING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS HAVE WARPED. VERY ANNOYING SOUND AND LOSS OF POWER. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG OTHER OWNERS OF THE 3.5 ECO BOOST. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
BRAKE FLUID IS LEAKING. I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND I NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I ALSO GOT A NOTICE OF LOW BRAKE FLUID, SO I PUT SOME IN AND A FEW DAYS LATER IT WAS LOW AGAIN. I NOTICED THAT IT IS LEAKING OUT ONTO OTHER PARTS UNDER MY HOOD.
DOOR LATCH FREEZES - ALL DOORS - WON'T SECURE UNTIL IT IS WARM ENOUGH AGAIN TO WORK ABOUT 34 DEGREES - SOMETIMES IT APPEARS TO SEEM LOCKED ONLY TO OPEN AS YOU GO AROUND A CORNER.
ELECTRIC REAR TAILGATE FALLS DOWN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED OR EVEN WHILE PARKED. TAILGATE HAS FALLEN 5-6 TIMES WHILE TRUCK IS PARKED IN LAST FEW MONTHS AND ALSO 5+ TIMES WHILE CAR IS DRIVING. IT HAS FALLEN WHILE TRUCK WAS IN REVERSE, AND WHILE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING ON COUNTRY ROADS AT SPEEDS OF ~40MPH. PLEASE NOTE - THIS ISSUE SEEMS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE FORD JUST ANNOUNCED A RECALL FOR ON THE 2017-2019 F-250 SUPERDUTY TRUCKS. IT MUST BE RELATED. OUR TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP JUST LAST WEEK BEFORE THIS RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THE TAILGATE MOST RECENTLY FELL 11/28/19
I WAS PARKED IN A SAGE BRUSH FIELD, WARMING UP IN MY TRUCK. I TURNED IT OFF AND OPENED THE DOOR TO GET OUT. THIS IS WHEN I NOTICED MY ELECTRONIC RUNNING BOARDS DIDN'T EXTEND. SO I SITUATED MYSELF BACK IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND REALIZED THE RADIO WAS STILL PLAYING. (IT IS SUPPOSE TO TURN OFF WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR AND THE TRUCK IS OFF) I STARTED THE TRUCK AND FOUND I HAD NO DASHBOARD LIGHTS, GAUGES WERE OFF, LOCKS WOULD NOT WORK IN THE FRONT. I HAD ONLY RADIO ( VOLUME CONTROL DIDN'T WORK) AND FLASHERS. I DROVE THE FEW MILES TO MY DEALER. AFTER CALLING SOMEONE. THEY TOLD ME THEY DID A HARD REBOOT OF THE SYSTEM. EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON AND I NOTICED IT WAS A FEW DAYS BEFORE EVERYTHING READJUSTED TO READ CORRECTLY. I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK IF I HAD MORE PROBLEMS. THEY HAD A LIST OF FAULTS THAT SHOWED ON THE COMPUTER WHEN THEY PLUGGED IT IN. THE CODES: BCM, FCIM, MS1-CAN,HS2-CAN,HS3-CAN,U0137 SAID TBM COULDN'T COMMUNICATE WITH BCM. FINAL STATEMENT ON CAUSE: EXCESSIVE NETWORK TRAFFIC ON THE CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) BUS CAUSING THE FCIM TO LOCK UP. I HAVE THE WORK ORDER IF NEEDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND MERGED OVER TO THE MEDIAN OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES, BUT IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AGAIN. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY SLOWED DOWN TO A STOP. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE LOW BRAKE FLUID MESSAGE APPEARED. THE CONTACT SLOWLY DROVE TO AN AUTO STORE TO PURCHASE MORE BRAKE FLUID, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL KNIGHT FORD (9607 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74133, (888) 464-2411) WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
VEHICLE IN 4 WHEEL HI MODE HAS A TENDENCY TO BIND UP IN REVERSE AT LOW SPEED. SOMETIMES AFFECTS THE FORWARD MOTION. CAN COUNT ON 1 HAND THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THIS HAS BEEN ENGAGED.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I GOT A WARNING ON MY DASH SAYING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WAS LOW, ACCOMPANIED BY THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATING ON THE DASH. AS I WENT TO PULL OVER TO A SAFE LOCATION, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN I PRESSED THE PEDAL. AT THIS POINT I HAD NO POWER FROM MY BRAKES, HAVING TO STOP BY DOWNSHIFTING AND USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. UPON INSPECTION THERE WAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR AND NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF A LEAK OR BROKEN BRAKE LINES. I PURCHASED BRAKE FLUID AND REFILLED THE RESERVOIR. WITHIN 2 MILES THE WARNING ILLUMINATE AGAIN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AFTER THIS INCIDENT.
MY F150 WAS STARTED AND THE MAX DEFROST WAS ON. WHILE STANDING NEXT TO THE VEHICLE, THE REAR GLASS WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT CAUSE. A BURNING SMELL WAS NOTICED, BUT I ASSUMED IT WAS COMING FROM SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN MY TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND I WAS STANDING NEAR THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT A POSSIBILITY THAT SOMETHING STRUCK THE REAR GLASS, IT IS AN APPARENT MALFUNCTION OR DEFECT. I CONTACTED FOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND WAS COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE.
WHILE DRIVING OUR 2015 FORD F-150 LARIAT SUPERCREW ON A TRIP FROM OHIO TO FLORIDA ON INTERSTATE I-77 WE WERE TOWING A 14 FOOT ENCLOSED TRAILER. MY WIFE AND I STOPPED FOR THE NIGHT AFTER APPROXIMATELY 550 MILES AND I MADE SURE THE TRUCK WAS SECURE. IN THE MORNING I WALKED AROUND THE TRAILER AND THE TRUCK TO BE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OKAY AND IT WAS BEFORE CONTINUING OUR DRIVE. WE WERE JUST NORTH OF CHARLOTTE, NC AND THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF NEW ROAD CONSTRUCTION AS WE CONTINUED SOUTH WITH ROUGH BUMPY AREAS, CHANGING ROAD LANES AND JUST A LOT OF TWISTING SECTIONS. AFTER 2 HOURS AND SOUTH OF CHARLOTTE WE STOPPED FOR FUEL. I THEN SAW THAT THE TAILGATE WAS DOWN. I WAS SHOCKED AS I LOOKED AND WAS GLAD WE HAD NOT LOST ANY ITEMS ON THE ROAD, WE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. THE TAILGATE RECEIVED DAMAGE BECAUSE AS THE TWISTING AND REQUIRED LANE CHANGES HAPPENED THE TRAILERS FRONT TONGUE WHEEL SUPPORT POST WAS JAMMING AGAINST THE DROPPED TAILGATE. WE FEEL SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT LOST THE HEAVY ITEMS IN THE TRUCK THAT COULD HAVE MADE US RESPONSIBLE FOR A SEVER ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER IN MOUNT DORA, FL AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL CURRENTLY IS FOR JUST THE F-250 & F-350 MODELS WITH THE POWER TAILGATE. THEY "RAN" MY VIN NUMBER AND TOLD ME THIS TRUCK IS NOT IN THE SAME RECALL. EVEN THOUGH THE F-150 "LARIAT" UPGRADE MODEL HAS THE SAME POWER TAILGATE AS THE TWO IN THE RECALL. PLEASE HELP AND REQUIRE THE JUSTIFIED RECALL TO BE SPECIFIC TO NOT JUST THE VEHICLE VIN OR MODEL NUMBERS BUT TO ALL THOSE WITH THIS TYPE OF FUNCTIONING POWER TAILGATE. I HAVE CALLED FORDS'S CONSUMER (866) HELP CENTER AND THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING REPLACEMENT FOR MY DAMAGED TAILGATE EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER BODY SHOP MANAGER HAD ME PRESENT TO SEE AS THEY TOOK THE TAILGATE APART. WE FOUND INSIDE ONE BROKEN PART FOR THE MECHANICAL LATCH CONTROLLER THAT SECURES THE LOCKING OF THE TAILGATE.
