DRIVING HOME BRAKE LIGHT LOW FLUID ALARM COMES ON. WORRIED I GO TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PETAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. I AM TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON A FREEWAY (SUMMERLIN PARKWAY) DOWN A HILL. I START TO PANIC A LITTLE BIT. LUCKY FOR ME TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND THROUGH A COMBINATION OF COASTING AND BRAKE I MANAGE TO SLOW DOWN AND GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT IS LOW. I LUMP THE TRUCK TO THE NEXT EXIT AND STOP AT O'REILLY AUTO PARTS. I BY A QUART OF BRAKE FLUID AND PUT IT INTO THE CAR. BRAKES ARE BACK AND LIGHT GOES OUT. I START DRIVING HOME AND 4 MILES DOW. THE ROAD THE LOW BRAKE LIGHT FLUID LIGHT COMES BACK ON. I STOP OFF MY EXIT TO MY HOUSE AND BUY MORE BRAKE FLUID FROM AUTOZONE. LIGHT GOES OUT AGAIN AND I LIMP THE TRUCK HOME. TODAY I HAD IT TOWED TO TEAM FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT.
THE STEERING RACK IS LOCKING UP AND MAKING NOISE
STARTED MY TRUCK USING REMOTE START. ROUGHLY 45-55 SECS LATER, I GET IN MY TRUCK AND THE REAR PASSENGER AREA IS FILLED WITH SMOKE. I SHUT OFF VEHICLE. I SMELLED BURNED ELECTRICAL WIRES. I WASN'T ABLE TO DETECT ANYTHING OUT OF THE NORM. ROUGHLY 5-7 MINS LATER, MY BACK GLASS SHATTERED. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FILLED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BRAKE FLUID WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RUSTY WALLACE FORD (LOCATED AT 134 SHARON DR, DANDRIDGE, TN 37725, (423) 623-6138) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE SAFELY DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE. FORD LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN (615-794-4585, 1129 MURFREESBORO RD, FRANKLIN, TN 37064) DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER, SEALS, AND MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE IT EXCEEDED THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,250.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND VIBRATED WHEN TURNED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOMBALL FORD (22702 TOMBALL PKWY, TOMBALL, TX 77375, (281) 378-3160) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE BOLT WAS LOOSE AND DETERIORATED AT THE STEERING SHAFT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V279000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND MY BACK WINDOW SHADDERED WITHOUT ANYTHING HITTING IT. I WAS DRIVING ON A SMOOTH HIGHWAY THAT WAS JUST REDONE 2 YEARS AGO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING AND WOULD NOT STOP. ALSO, 'HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT' AND 'SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PADUCAH FORD (3476 PARK AVE, PADUCAH, KY 42001, (270) 444-0011) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED THIS WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

CORRODED BODY CONTROL MODULE AND WIRING. FORD TECHNICIANS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE CAUSE. CAUSED VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING IN AN UNSAFE MANNER.

THE CONTACT CALLED AL SPRIZTER FORD (3737 STATE RD, CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH 44223, (330) 325-4195), BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 55-70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE ENTERED "LIMP-MODE". THE DRIVER NOTIFICATION PANEL DISPLAYED "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE ENGINE," AND DISPLAYED AN THE AIRBAG SYMBOL. VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY LOST THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN SPEED OR ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE REMAINED ON WITH POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. AFTER MANEUVERING OUT OF A TRAVEL LANE ONTO THE SHOULD, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED AT LOW SPEEDS UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURN-OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE NOTIFICATION WERE REMOVED AND HAD NO ISSUES AT THAT TIME. AFTER NEARLY 1000 MORE MILES OF DRIVING, THE VEHICLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH ON A HIGHWAY. THE SAME SYMPTOMS WERE DEMONSTRATED. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE FROM THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE DROVE WITH NO ISSUES. FORD DEALERSHIP IN SEASIDE CALIFORNIA ADVISED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THE REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED OUTSIDE THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY.
FLOORED THROTTLE TO PASS SLOWER TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY AND ENGINE DID NOT RETURN TO NORMAL RPM. INSTEAD, THE ENGINE CONTINUED RUN AT 4,000 RPM UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO BRING VEHICLE TO A STOP AND USE KEY TO TURN OFF ENGINE. UPON RESTARTING ALL WAS NORMAL.
MY SUNROOF LEAKS EVERY TIME IT RAINS AND LEAVES MY ROOF, CARPET, AND SEATS WET AND SMELLING OF MILDEW. I HAVE ALREADY PAID NEARLY $1000 TO HAVE THE SUNROOF REPLACED AND IT STILL LEAKS.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 FORD F150 PLATINUM (V6 ECO BOOST) ON AN HWY (70 MPH) THE TRUCK ENCOUNTERED LOSS OF PEDAL RESPONSE AND THREE WARNING LIGHT AS I COASTED TO A STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THESE THREE WARNING LIGHTS: HILL ASSIST TRACTION CONTROL, ADVANCED TRAC WARNING INDICATOR, DRIVER ASSISTANCE INDICATOR. THE TRUCK TO TRANSITION TO 'LIMP' MODE (ACCELERATOR AND POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK) WHICH A DANGEROUS AND SCARY. MOST 'LIMP' MODE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED WHILE DESCENDING DOWNHILL, HAS OCCURRED SEVEN TIMES SO FAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER, AND THEY JUST CLEAR CODE AND SAY YOUR GOOD ($130 DIAGNOSTIC FEE). THEN THE ERROR OCCURS THE SAME DAY. WITH MORE ONLINE RESEARCH THERE A MASSIVE PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH CAUSES THIS TO HAPPEN. THERE NEEDS TO BE A FORD RECALL FOR THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.
MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO BRAKE BOOSTER. ONLY WARNING IS LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT. KNOWN ISSUE ON 13, 14 ECOBOOST MODELS. JUST DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING CAME ON . PULLED OVER AND PUT MORE FLUID IN MASTER CYLINDER. BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE END OF PARKING LOT NEEDED FLUID AGAIN. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHERE THEY SAID NEEDED NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED. PARTS AND LABOR OVER $900. THIS SHOULD NOT BE A NORMAL FAILURE FOR A TRUCK THAT HAS LESS THAN 62000 MILES ON IT. THANKFULLY WE DID NOT HAVE A MORE CATASTROPHIC SITUATION.
I HAVE A 2015 FORD F150 2.7 ECOBOOST WITH 66,000 MILES ON IT, AND MY FUEL PUMP HAS GONE BAD IN IT. I HAVE HEARD FROM MANY FELLOW OWNERS THAT THE SAME STYLE TRUCK HAS ALSO HAD FUEL PUMP FAILURES, MOST WITH LESS MILES ON THEM THAN MINE. THERE IS A RECALL ON MOST OF THE OTHER FORD VEHICLES FOR THEIR FUEL PUMPS BEING AT FALL.
WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP FROM THE SF BAY AREA TO LAS VEGAS AND HAVING BEEN THERE JUST ONE DAY, THE VALET AT CEASAR'S PALACE DROVE MY TRUCK TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF THE HOTEL/CASINO WHERE MANY PEOPLE AND VEHICLES WERE COMING AND GOING. WHEN I GOT IN MY TRUCK, THE BRAKE WARNING/FAILURE LIGHTS WERE BRIGHTLY LIT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT MUSHY RIGHT TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I INSPECTED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, IT WAS NEAR EMPTY (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO). WHEN I LOOKED BENEATH THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A LEAK AND NO INDICATION OF A LEAK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE TRUCK MILEAGE WAS AROUND 62K AND HAD THE 60K SERVICE RECENTLY WHICH INCLUDED NEW FRONT ROTORS AND PADS INSTALLED BY A FORD DEALER IN THE SF BAY AREA. FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE, I HAD THE TRUCK REPAIRED AT THE FORD DEALER IN LAS VEGAS. THEY REPORTED THAT BRAKE FLUID LEAKED FROM THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER SECONDARY SEAL INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. BOTH THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF NEARLY $1400.00! FORTUNATELY, I WASN'T DRIVING WHEN THE BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED. THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES. THANK GOD.
ENGINE STALLS AT IDLE IN PARK AND AT STOP LIGHTS. SOMETIMES IT'S BAD AND SOMETIMES NOT AS MUCH OR CAN GO DAYS WITHOUT DOING IT.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER RECALL #19S11 FORD NHTSA # 19V-278 IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT PART...KEEP CALLING FORD AND THEY SAY PARTS ARE IN, BUT I CALLED DEALER AND THEY SAY NOT TILL OCTOBER OF THIS YEAR, THEY KEEP PUTTING IT OFF.

WHEN HE LOOKED UP, HE NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD CAVED IN AND THE LEFT SIDE WAS TILTED DOWN AND NONFUNCTIONAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JUNGE FORD (525 MADISON AVE, NORTH LIBERTY, IA 52317, (319) 626-9500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NEW SUN ROOF BRACKETS AND/OR THE ENTIRE TRACK SYSTEM WERE NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND AS I WAS DRIVING I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO ASSIST ME IN STOPPING THE VEHICLE. I STOPPED 2 FEET SHORT OF CRASHING INTO A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE HOOD. THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS ALMOST EMPTY. I STOPPED AT A NEAR BY MIDAS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A MASSIVE LEAK FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER (BOOSTER WAS COMPLETELY FILLED WITH BRAKE FLUID). I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2013-2014 F150S THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS PROBLEM IS AFFECTING THE 2015S ALSO. THERE WAS NO WARNING OTHER THAN THE LIGHT COMING ON AND I IMMEDIATELY LOST ALMOST COMPLETE BRAKING POWER TO THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN AND A FRIGHTENING ONE AS IT HAPPENS WITH CHILDREN INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND STARTING TO FALL ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A TREE BUT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED IT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT (DRIVER) SUSTAINED CHEST, HEAD, AND A FRACTURED STERNUM INJURIES WHEN HE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIS GIRLFRIEND (FRONT PASSENGER) SUSTAINED A BACK INJURIES. BOTH INJURIES REQUESTED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED VIA FLATBED TO IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. *TT *JB CONSUMER STATED I'M VERY SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT TRAVELERS INSURANCE COMPANY JUST TOWED AND DESTROYED THE VEHICLE WHEN I EXPRESSLY TOLD THEM THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THAT THE MEDICAL BENEFITS WERE MAXED OUT. I THOUGHT FOR SURE THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES DISSECTED VEHICLES IN SUCH MAJOR ACCIDENTS AND BEING NOTIFIED BY THE OWNER THAT THE EQUIPMENT WAS FAULTY THAT THEY DID NOT DO A POST MORTEM. MY GIRLFRIEND GOT A BROKEN BACK IN THE INJURY, HAD TO HAVE SURGERY AND WILL MOST LIKELY BE IN PAIN FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. I COULD NOT WORK OR LIFT ANYTHING OVER 6 MONTHS UNTIL MY STERNUM HEALED ITSELF AND HAD TO LIVE THROUGH PAIN WHILE I HEALED. I STILL FEEL A SMALL FEELING IN MY CHEST.*JB
HIT A TREE AT 55 MILES PER HOUR AND AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. WENT FROM 55MILES PER HOUR TO 0 INSTANTLY AND IF IT WASN'T FOR US WEARING SEAT BELTS WE WOULD BOTH BE DEAD. THE PASSENGER GOT 3 CRACKED VERTEBRAE AND WILL BE DISABLED FOR LIFE. THE DRIVER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND GOT A CRUSHED HIS STERNUM WHICH LEAVES HIM IMMOBILE FOR 6MONTHS TO LET HIS STERNUM HEAL ON IT'S OWN.
SUDDEN BRAKE FAILURE AFTER A BRAKE FLUID LOW LEVEL CAUTION. THIS HAPPENED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. LUCKILY I DIDN'T CRASH INTO ANYTHING AND WAS ABLE TO STOP WITH REMAINING BRAKE PRESSURE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY A FAILED MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND CAUSED THE BRAKE PUMP TO FAIL. TOTAL REPAIR CIST $975. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ON THIS VEHICLE. LUCKILY I DIDN'T CRASH.
CREW CAB DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN DOORS ARE LOCKED THE REAR DOOR LOCK RELEASE BUTTON IS NOT ACCESSIBLE.. ONE IS UNABLE TO UNLOCK A LOCKED DOOR FROM THE REAR SEAT. IN AN ACCIDENT THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE UNLOCK BUTTON IN THE DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT
TURNED DEFROST ON AND IN 2 TO 3 MINUTES HEARD A LOUD POP AND LOOKED BACK AND THE REAR WINDOWPANE HAD COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THE BREAK HAPPENED IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE DEFROST MALFUNCTIONED AND OVERHEATED THE WINDOW CAUSING IT TO SHATTER.
MY 2015 F150 ECOBOOST HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT. OVER THE PAST 10 DAYS THE TRUCK HAS REPEATEDLY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENED WHILE GOING UP A HILL ON A CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP, AS WELL. THE RPM DROPS DOWN TO 500 RPM, ROUGH IDLE, NO ACCELERATION AT ALL, HILL ASSIST LIGHT WRENCH LIGHT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT AND SEE OWNERS MANUAL POP UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (LIMP MODE). AFTER SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, I CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. LOOKED ONLINE AND YOUTUBE TO DISCOVER THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST ME AND FREQUENTLY HAPPENS TO OTHERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE TRUCK SHOULD NOT ENTER LIMP MODE FOR A MINOR ISSUE LIKE THIS. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET OVER ON THE SHOULDER EACH TIME. TOOK MY TRUCK INTO FORD TODAY AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY UNDER MY EXTENDE WARRANTY NOT THEIR EMISSIONS WARRANTY AS STATED IN THEIR OWNERS MANUAL OF 8 YEARS OR 80,000 MILES. CALLED FORD AND THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT AN EMISSIONS WARRANTY IN THEIR OWNERS MANUAL. LOOKED ONLINE AND YOUTUBE TO DISCOVER THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST ME AND FREQUENT WITH OTHERS. I WAS ASKED TO SIGN A WAIVER TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE OFF THE LOT IF I DIDN'T HAVE IT REPAIRED THEIR ON SITE SO NATURALLY I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD & FIX IT AFTER I TOLD HIM IT SOUNDED LIKE I REALLY HAD NO OTHER CHOICE. & THAT I COULDN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR A RENT CAR SO HE GOT ME A LOANER PROVIDED BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 10 DAYS REPAIRING IT . WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, STATION FUELING NOZZLE DID NOT SHUT OFF, OVERFLOWING TRUCK FILL PIPE. AT NEXT FUELING, GAS PIPE WAS STILL FULL OF GAS AT TOP FLAP VALVE; COULD NOT PUT GAS INTO FUEL TANK. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER; WHO INDICATED THAT FUEL TANK WAS "COLLAPSED" DUE TO VACUUM CREATED BY STOPPED UP VENT SYSTEM. FUEL TANK AND ACCESSORIES BEING REPLACED, BUT DEALER CHARGED ME FOR WORK. SAFETY ISSUE IS COLLAPSED FUEL TANK MAY BREAK, LEAK AND CAUSE A GASOLINE FIRE, AT ANY TIME. THERE IS A SYSTEM DESIGN FLAW, OR CRITICAL EQUIPMENT ITEM FAILURE, THAT WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN TANK IS OVERFILLED. IT IS NOT UNCOMMON THAT FUEL STATION GAS VALVES ON END OF STATION HOSE FAIL TO SHUT OFF WHEN TANK IS FULL, SO THE FUEL SYSTEM DESIGN SHOULD TAKE THIS FACT INTO CONSIDERATION. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT, FIRE AND/OR DEATH.
MY FORD TRUCK HAS HAD ISSUES WITH LURCHING WHILE AT A STOP, HARD DOWNSHIFTS. AND AS OF FRIDAY NIGHT, GOING FROM 75 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE TO A DEAD STANDSTILL AS THOUGH MY TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. ALMOST CREATED A PILEUP ON INTERSTATE 70. THEN WOULD HAVE RPM BTWN 5 TO 8 GOING 20 MPH. 2015 MODEL V8 WITH ECOBOOST. MY YEAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL ANNOUNCED BUT THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN THAT RECALL FIT MINE EXACTLY. I AM GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH FORD AS WELL.
ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN ELK GROVE ILLINOIS DURING RUSH HOURS. 45 MPH . OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 27 DEGREES ABOVE ZERO. ROAD WAS WET WITH SALT FROM PREVIOUS SNOW FALL. WINDSHIELD WAS COLLECTING HEAVY SPRAY BACK FROM OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK. WHEN APPLYING WINDSHIELD WASHER THE WASHER FAILED TO SPRAY. RESULTING IN A VERY SMEARED AND HEAVY ROAD DIRT ON WINDSHIELD. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS UNABLE TO PULL OVER AND CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD MANUALLY AT THAT MOMENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE THIS WINTER AND I FOUND THIS TO BE VERY THREATENING TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN SAFE DRIVING UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN BELOW FREEZING AND THERE IS -35 BELOW ZERO WASHER FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT A FORD DEALERSHIP WHICH THEY HAVE A BULLETIN REPAIR ON THIS. NO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS YET. I BELIEVE IN PUTTING UP THE GUARD RAIL BEFORE THE VEHICLE RUNS OF THE ROAD.
THE REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED DURING DEFROST MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN WHEN THE GLASS SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING UNDER 20 MILES PER HOUR, THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20 DEGREES, AND THE HEAT SETTING INSIDE WAS SET TO "MAX". THE REAR GLASS PANES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE SLIDING WINDOW SHATTERED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH A SOUND THAT COULD BE DESCRIBED AS A "GUN SHOT". BROKEN GLASS FELL INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK AND ON TO THE SEATS AND FLOOR. NORMALLY MY CHILDREN ARE SEATED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ON THIS PARTICULAR MORNING, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WAS EMPTY. THE EVENT OCCURRED ABOUT 3 MILES FROM MY HOME, SO THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY BEEN RUNNING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I BELIEVE THAT THE SAFETY RISK IS A RESULT OF A MATERIALS DEFECT COMBINED WITH A HEATING SYSTEM FAILURE. THE GLASS IS LIKELY EXPERIENCING SEVERE THERMAL SHOCK DURING DEFROST MODE. THERMAL SHOCK LEADS TO SHATTERING EVEN IF THE GLASS IS TEMPERED. FORD SHOULD RECALL THIS REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLAGE AND ASSOCIATED HEATING COMPONENTS IMMEDIATELY. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE NUMBER WAS ASSIGNED. AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETE, A COPY OF THE INVOICE WAS HAND DELIVERED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WITH A REQUEST THAT FULL REIMBURSEMENT BE RECEIVED FOR REQUIRED REPAIRS DUE TO MATERIAL DEFECTS AND FAULTY HEATING SYSTEMS.

I WAS TRAVELLING ALONG AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND SUDDENLY THE TRUCK LOST RESPONSIVENESS TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I HAD TO MOVE OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD RAPIDLY TO AVOID BECOMING A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS AS MY SPEED WAS SLOWING SIGNIFICANTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ON BOTH SURFACE STREETS AND ON HIGHWAYS/FREEWAYS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IS FAULTY. THIS FAULT HAS CREATED A HAZARD FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND THE HAZARD THAT REPRESENTS ON ROADS WITH NO SHOULDER.

I AM USING RAIN-X FLUID RATED TO -30 DEGREES, SAME FLUID WORKS IN OTHER VEHICLES. ONCE ENGINE IS WARM AND STOPPED FOR 20 MINUTES, FLUID WILL SOMETIMES WORK. I THINK THE PLASTIC TUBES FORD CHARGED ME FOR SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH METALLIC ONES THAT WILL NOT CONSTRICT/SHRINK.
