TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED "LOW FLUID" AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT TRAVELLED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE DEALER (HENRY CURTIS FORD, 1120 AUTO CENTER DR, PETALUMA, CA 94952, (707) 769-2310) INDICATED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BRAKE RESERVOIR MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE STALLING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DUVALL CHEVROLET (464 US-441, CLAYTON, GA 30525, (877) 818-7723) TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT HE WAS NOT PROVIDED WITH THE RESULTS OF THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS OFF, NOT IN USE, PARKED IN THE OWNERS DRIVEWAY ALL MORNING. AS WE WERE ABOUT TO LEAVE, THE CHILDREN OPEN THE BACK DOOR, GOT IN AND SHUT THE DOOR, WHEN THE DOOR SHUT, THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED OUTWARD. ALL EXCEPT THE MIDDLE MOTORIZED WINDOW PART SHATTERED. THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE WINDOW HAD EXPLODED.
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE WITH NO WARNINGS
I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND A CODE FOR THAT. ALSO CODES FOR HILL DECENT, HILL ASSIST, TRACTION CONTROL. ALSO CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK FOR DOES MY RADIO SOURCE SELECTION. AS OF NOW THAT IS ALL THAT I HAVE FOUND NOT WORKING. THESE PROBLEMS ALL HAPPENED AT THE SAME TIME. STEERING IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AND IS A BIG SAFETY FACTOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MAC HAIK FORD LINCOLN (888-253-4662, LOCATED AT 4506 N NAVARRO ST, VICTORIA, TX 77904), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED OR DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE BACK-UP CAMERA SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,811. *TR
DOORS FREEZE REPEATEDLY IN COLD WEATHER AND WILL EITHER NOT OPEN OR WILL NOT LATCH. THE TSB WAS COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE RECALL AND DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE ON 7/18/2018 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TSB WAS PERFORMED PREVIOUSLY AND NO ADDITIONAL ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN. I HAVE VIDEO THAT I WANTED THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND WAS TOLD NOT TO BOTHER. THE VIDEO SHOWS EVIDENCE OF DOORS FAILING TO LATCH ON 4/20/2018 WITH TEMPERATURE OF 32 DEGREES. SERVICE ADVISOR REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE VIDEO.
DRIVER SEAT MAKE LOUD NOISE WHEN TURN ON MASSAGE SYSTEM . NOT REPAIR YEAT .
ON 7/16/18 AT APPROXIMATELY 0400, WHILE ON RT 95 S DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 68 MPH, IN STAMFORD CT, I APPLIED BRAKES AND BRAKES FAILED. USING DOWNSHIFT AND E BRAKE I SUCCESSFULLY SLOWED DOWN AND TOOK THE NEAREST EXIT RAMP. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER. ITS REPORTED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED. LOOKING ON-LINE THERE IS AN APPARENT ISSUE THE 2015, 2016 V6 ECO BOOST MODELS WHERE THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED. FORD IS CURRENTLY EVALUATING WHETHER TO COVER THE REPAIRS. THIS NOTIFICATION IS FOR RECORD PURPOSES AS ON-LINE IT APPEARS THAT NHTSA IS INVESTIGATING THESE FAILURES.
2016 F150 TRUCK, 24,000 MILES. WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE TRUCK WILL STOP BUT THE PEDAL CONTINUES UNTIL IT HITS THE FLOOR. THE BRAKE PADS ARE GOOD, BRAKE FLUID IS FULL. I AM TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP ON 7-18-18. VERY UNSETTLING TO HAVE A NEW TRUCK AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY.
MY 2016 FORD F150 LIMITED IS 2 YEARS OLD. THE BRAKES STARTED NOT WORKING WELL AND THEN THE BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON OTHER MODEL YEAR F150S.
DROVE THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT 2.5 MILES WITH NO ISSUES AND PARKED. AS I BACKED OUT OF PARKING THE TRUCK LOST ALL BRAKING CAPABILITY. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE USING THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRUCK ALERTED ME WITH A BRAKE FLUID LIGHT AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT. NO VISIBLE LEAKS UNDER THE HOOD, CALIPERS, FRAME, ENGINE COMPARTMENT. TOWED TO DEALER... THE TRUCK HAS 28,100 MILES. PLATINUM 3.5 ECO BOOST!
DRIVING DOWN 7HWY IN LEAVENWORTH COUNTY KANSAS. PUSHED BRAKE PEDAL DOWN AND LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. STOPPED A FRIENDS HOUSE AND GOT BRAKE FLUID AND IT ALL GOT SUCKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HAD THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: RQ16001 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
BEING THE DRIVER OF A 2016 F-150 CREW CAB 4X4 WITH 3.5 ECO BOOST MOTOR. I HAVE BEEN NOW BEEN INVOLVED IN TWO BRAKE FAILURE RELATED COLLISIONS. ONE ON JUNE 20, 2017 AND THE OTHER THIS YEAR ON JULY 3RD. THE FIRST BRAKE RELATED COLLISION WAS ON JUNE 20TH, 2017. I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT BEHIND SOME OTHER CARS WAITING ON LIGHT TO CHANGE. NEXT THING I KNOW I FEEL A SLIGHT BUMP HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SO I GO TO HIT THE BRAKE AGAIN AND INADVERTENTLY HIT THE ACCELERATOR ENDING UP PUSHING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF IT. WHICH CAUSED A 3 VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT DAY. NOW THIS JULY 3RD I WAS INVOLVED IN A MUCH SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING IN FAR LEFT LANE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT THAT WAS RED AND CARS IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED AHEAD. I WENT TO HIT MY BRAKES TO STOP AND THE TRUCK KEPT ON GET GOING IN A FORWARD MOTION WITHOUT ANY INDICATION THE BRAKES WERE WORKING. I TRIED TO DIRECT TRUCK TO THE LEFT SIDE MEDIAN TO AVOID A COLLISION AND WHILE IN FORWARD MOTION I MADE IMPACT WITH THE CAR IN MIDDLE PUSHING IT INTO THE FIRST CAR UP FRONT THAT WAS INVOLVED IN MY SECOND ACCIDENT. MY TRUCK'S MIDDLE AND RIGHT FRONT MADE CONTACT WITH CAR IN FRONT OF ME HARD ENOUGH TO PUNCTURE GAS TANK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THAT CAR WITH MY FRONT MOUNTED TRAILER HITCH AND PUSH IT INTO THE 1ST CAR'S REAR END. MY DRIVERS SIDE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DEPLOYED HITTING ME IN THE STOMACH AREA AND SEAT BELT FASTER ON DRIVERS SIDE BRUISED MY RIGHT HIP, AND NECK ENDED UP WITH SOME MUSCLE STRAIN AS WELL. THE DRIVER OF THE MOST FORWARD CAR WENT TO THE HOSPITAL WITH UNKNOWN INJURIES WHILE I WAS TENDING TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATION AND MY TRUCK. THE DRIVER IN MIDDLE CAR, THE CAR I STRUCK I KNOW THAT THEIR CAR WAS TOTALED WITH SEVERE DAMAGE TO BOTH FRONT AND REAR DAMAGE. WEATHER CLEAR AND ROADS DRY. THERE WAS NO TRACE OF SKID MARKS ON THE ROAD.
SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY. DRIVING 50MPH. TRUCK ALERTED TO "LOW BRAKE FLUID." ABOUT 45 SECONDS LATER, I HAD NO ABILITY TO BRAKE OTHER THAN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.
I TOOK MY TRUCK TO GREENWOOD FORD IN BOWLING GREEN KY FOR A HILLSIDE ASSIST ERROR. WHILE IT WAS THERE, I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING FAILED & NEED A NEW ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RACK. THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS GOING TO FAIL. COST WAS 1650.00 THE TRUCK HAD 38500 MILES
IT'S HAPPENED 9 OR 10 TIMES IN TWO YEARS ... TRY TO START IT - NOTHING...TRY AGAIN-STILL COMPLETELY DEAD. SIT BACK WONDERING WHAT I'M GOING TO DO, AND THE TRUCK WILL START ALL BY ITSELF WHILE I'M NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING. HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS MECHANICS NONE HAVE HEARD OF IT BEFORE.
I WAS DRIVING AND ABOUT HALF WAY TO WORK I RECEIVED A LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING AND THEN TRIED TO BRAKE AND INSTANTLY HAD NO BRAKING POWER. HOW TO SLOW DOWN AND ATTEMPT TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP. LUCKY I WAS ON A FAIRLY OPEN STRETCH OF HIGHWAY WITHOUT MUCH TRAFFIC OR STOPS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HIGHWAY FORD (18982 JOHNNIE B HALL MEMORIAL HWY, DERIDDER, LA 70634, (337) 462-5497) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT WAS NOT SEATED CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. *TT
BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR ALL OF A SUDDEN. I GOT A BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD. TRUCK IS REGULARLY SERVICED BUT AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING WHAT I HAVE GOING ON. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY KIDS IN MY TRUCK RENDERING IT USELESS. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT.
'TAKATA RECALL' I WAS REAR ENDED BY A VEHICLE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45 MPH THAT VEHICLE GOT TOTALED THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS DESTROYED CAR HAD TO BE TOWED BUT MY F150 DID NOT DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS AT SUCH A VIOLENT COLLISION???
WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE AT A SPEED OF 80 MPH, MY 2016 F-150 ECO BOOST WITH 50,000 MILES WENT INTO LIMP MODE DUE TO A FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CAUSING ME TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND WORRYING FOR MY FAMILY'S LIFE AS I WAS DECELERATING ON A BUSY 4 LANE FREEWAY TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO PULL OVER WITHOUT BEING SMASHED.
TRUCK HAS RE-OCCURRING FREQUENT EPISODES OF CENTER CONTROL PANEL DOES NOT FUNCTION - WHEN THIS OCCURS- RADIO DOES NOT WORK - NO HEATER -WINDOW DEFROSTER OR A.C / WINDOWS CAN NOT BE ROLLED UP OR DOWN - AIR BAG INDICATOR IS NOT WORKING - SO DON'T KNOW IF THE AIR BAGS WOULD DEPLOYED IF AN ACCIDENT SHOULD OCCUR .THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO 1 DEALER WHICH SAID IT WAS A SOFT WEAR ISSUE AND CLAIMED TO FIX IT .. LASTED LESS THAN 50 MILES AND BACK TO SQUARE ONE ,, SITTING AT THE SECOND DEALER WHICH STATES IT NOT DOING IT NOW ,, SO COME AND PICK IT UP , THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTICS AND NO DEFAULT CODES WERE FOUND . THIS IS NOT RESOLVING THE ISSUE . IF YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT YOU DID TO FIX IT ..THE ISSUE REMAINS UNRESOLVED .. A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ALL OCCUPANTS IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK .. IF THE AIR BAGS FAIL TO DEPLOY BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE STATED IN THIS COMPLAINT IS NOT ADDRESSED BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY.. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE FORD RELATIONSHIP - PERSONNEL - AND NOW AWAITING FOR A CALL FROM THE REGIONAL OFFICER ...THE TRUCK IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND FORD IS REQUIRED TO FULFILL THERE OBLIGATION TO THE CONSUMER AND FIX DEFAULT PRODUCT..
COMPLETE UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR WHEN ACCELERATING. HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY EVEN AFTER SEVERAL REPAIRS RELATED TO THE THROTTLE BODY BY DEALER. FIRST HAPPENED IN THE 40,000 MILE RANGE AND AFTER REPAIRS AGAIN AT 83,000 MILES.
I HAVE A 2016 F150 WITH ISSUES SIMILAR TO NHTSA COMPLAINT ID# 10127407. THE PROBLEMS ARE NOT INTERMITTENT, THE PART HAS FAILED & IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD AT THIS TIME. THE AIR CONDITIONING QUITS COMPLETELY & YOU CANNOT RUN THE FAN AT ALL. YOU CANNOT ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOWS IN THE VEHICLE & THE VEHICLE GETS WELL OVER 90 DEGREES INSIDE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN THIS DOESN'T WORK IT ALSO DISABLES THE AIRBAGS OF THE VEHICLE, CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT AS WELL AS TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAILURE ALONG WITH OTHER SAFETY FEATURES. THE SEATS NO LONGER RETRACT OR MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED/SHUTOFF. THE KEY FOB INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT LOCK THE DOORS OF THE VEHICLE & THE ALERT ON THE TRUCK SAYS KEY NOT FOUND. WITH THE WARM TEMPERATURES AND NO WAY TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS OR TURN ON THE AC OR A BLOWER FAN MAKES THIS VEHICLE EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO OPERATE.
ON 6/2/18, AFTER A NIGHT'S STAY IN A WALMART PARKING LOT IN OUR 5TH WHEEL, OUR 2016 FORD 150 PICKUP SHOWED A LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK TO LEAVE. I PUT IN DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT SO WE LEFT. WE HAD TRAVELED ONLY A FEW MILES NORTH ON INTERSTATE 95 IN SOUTH CAROILINA WHEN THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING. ALTHOUGH WE WERE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND GOING 55-60 MPH, I PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND WAS ABLE TO DOWNSHIFT TO ABOUT 5-10 MPH. THEN WITH BRAKE PEDAL DOWN TO FLOOR, I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STOP OUR PICKUP AND TRAILING 5TH WHEEL. WE WERE EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT THE TRAFFIC CONDITIONS DID REQUIRE EMERGENCY BRAKING. WE WERE ALSO FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE ONLY 10 MILES FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP THAT DETERMIBED THAT THE TRUCK'S MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND BOOSTER WERE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. OUR TRIP WAS DELAYED TWO DAYS DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND COST US OVER $750 DOLLARS IN REPAIRS AND LODGING. THIS HAPPENED ONLY 98 MILES PAST MY WARRANTY PERIOD! WHEN DOING SOME RESEARCH, I SEE THAT FORD RECALLED ITS 2014 AND 2015 F150'S FOR THE VERY SAME PROBLEMS. IT SURE SEEMS LIKE SOME ( IF NOT ALL) 2016S ARE HAVING THE VERY SAME PROBLEM. BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND HURT OR KILLED. I AM VERY NERVOUS NOW DRIVING THIS TRUCK AND MY TRUST IN FORD PRODUCTS HAS BEEN SERIOUSLY DAMAGED. I URGE OTHER 2016 - NEW 150 OWNERS TO BE WATCHING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVELS CLOSELY.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID, IT WAS WELL BELOW THE MINIMUM LEVEL. SINCE IT STOPPED OK, I THOUGHT WHEN I LEFT I COULD JUST DRIVE TO A STORE AND BUY BRAKE FLUID. WHEN I GOT IN THE TRUCK 30 MINUTES LATER AND STARTED IT THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. PUTTING IN DRIVE I FOUND THAT THERE WERE NO BRAKES AT ALL AND USED THE FOOT EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE TRUCK. I GOT A RIDE TO A CAR PARTS STORE WHERE I BOUGHT 32 OZ. BOTTLE OF BRAKE FLUID. I POURED MORE THAN HALF THE BOTTLE INTO THE RESERVOIR GETTING IT UP TO THE MAX LINE, STARTED THE VEHICLE, PUMPED THE BRAKES AND GOT BRAKE PRESSURE BACK. I DROVE BACK TO MY CAMPSITE WHICH WAS 1.5 MILES AWAY. HALFWAY THERE THE LOW BRAKE FLUID INDICATOR CAME ON AGAIN. BY THE TIME I ARRIVED AFTER 1.5 MILES, THE BRAKES WERE ALMOST USELESS AND THERE WAS VERY LITTLE PRESSURE UNDER THE PEDAL. I PARKED THE TRUCK AND CHECK THE FLUID, AGAIN IT WAS WELL BELOW MINIMUM AND I COULD HEAR WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A VACUUM LEAK. I FILLED THE RESERVOIR UP TO ALMOST MAX AGAIN, PUMPED THE BRAKES, GOT PRESSURES BACK AND LOOKED FOR ANY LEAKS UNDER THE TRUCK AND FOUND NONE. I PULLED THE TRUCK BACK AND FORTH, ABOUT A 100 FEET, REPEATEDLY TO SEE IF I COULD SEE A LEAK - NOTHING, BUT THE LEVEL IN THE RESERVOIR WAS GOING DOWN. I DROVE THE TRUCK IN AROUND A 1/4 MILE CIRCLE AND BY THE END THE BRAKE PEDDLE HAD LOST MOST OF IT'S PRESSURE, STILL NO LEAKS UNDER THE TRUCK. WHEN IT GOT TOWED THE NEXT DAY THERE WAS NO STOPPING POWER AT ALL. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY OR MORE HIGH SPEED ROAD OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I'M SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION OF BRAKE FAILURE ON SOME YEARS OF THESE TRUCKS.

Due to the failure, the contact stated that they had been involved in two low-speed, parking lot accidents. The contact stated that no injuries were reported in either incident and that two separate police reports were filed; however, the police reports were unavailable. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealers and was given multiple estimates for the repair. The contact's husband attempted to replace the camera himself; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
5/25/2018 - HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS A PASSENGER. OUR VEHICLE GOING 25 MPH UPHILL. STRIKING VEHICLE GOING EST 60+ MPH COMING DOWN HILL COLLIDED HEAD ON WITH US. NO FATALITIES BUT 3 INJURED. SEAT BELTS LOCKED CORRECTLY. DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND THE PASSENGER (MY SIDE) AIRBAG DID NOT. DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE STRIKING US HEAVILY INEBRIATED. ONE OF THE FIREMEN, WHEN OPENING PASSENGER DOOR, COMMENTED ABOUT PLASTIC PIECES IN THE AIRBAG AREA.
AT 15000 MILES THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS BEGAN TO FAIL AND CONTAMINATED THE ENTIRE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. THE DIFFERENTIAL HAD TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. THIS COULD HAVE FAILED ON THE ROAD LEAVING ME STRANDED. THIS WAS WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL CITY STREETS AND THE HIGHWAY.
THIS MORNING 5/16/2018 AT 7:30 AM CDT, WHILE TAKING MY 6 YEAR OLD SON TO SCHOOL, MY 2016 FORD F-150 PRODUCED A "BRAKE FLUID LOW" WARNING LIGHT. THE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS SEVERELY COMPROMISED AND THE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I ADDED 54 OZ OF BRAKE FLUID TO GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO APPEAR. AS I WAS DRIVING I HAD TO GO INTO MANUAL MODE TO DOWNSHIFT TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN SO I COULD BRAKE VEHICLE TO A STOP. FULL SPEED BRAKING WAS IMPOSSIBLE. WAS ABLE TO GET TO A FORD DEALER - THEY DETERMINED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING AND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS CONSISTENT WITH PRIOR MODEL YEAR RECALLS FOR THIS TRUCK AND ENGINE TYPE (3.5L V6 ECOBOOST). VEHICLE HAS 45K MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE, SO OUT OF POCKET COSTS ARE ROUGHLY $1100. SERVICE RECORDS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE TOMORROW WHEN THE WORK IS COMPLETE. I CAN UPLOAD THEM AT THAT TIME.
VEHICLE IDLES ROUGH AND STALLS AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES OR SO. RPMS DROP TO BELOW 500, VEHICLE SHAKES AND SPUTTERS, AND SOMETIMES DIES. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE DIE MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE TURNING AT A STOP LIGHT/SIGN.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY, STATIONARY WITH NO ONE IN IT.
THE VEHICLE HOPS VERY BADLY OVER ROUGH SURFACES AND THE TAIL END SWINGS OUT. FORD SAYS THIS IS NORMAL BUT THE VEHICLE ALMOST LOSES CONTROL OVER SURFACES THAT ARE HANDLED BY OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDING OTHER F-150S. FORD CLAIMS THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE'S REAR SITS HIGHER ON ONE SIDE THAN THE OTHER BY ABOUT 1.1 INCHES. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO FORD'S ATTENTION AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT IT'S NORMAL AND DUE TO THE GAS TANK BEING FULL DESPITE IT RESIDING ON THE SIDE THAT SITS HIGHER. NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED BUT FEEL THAT THEY ARE RELATED.
THE VEHICLE HESITATES, IDLES ROUGHLY WHEN COLD AND MAKES A KNOCKING TYPE NOISE AT IDLE WHEN HOT. THE COOLANT LEVEL HAS GONE DOWN SUBSTANTIALLY DESPITE HAVING IT SERVICED RECENTLY. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER DRIPPING FROM THE TAIL PIPE ALONG WITH THE OCCASIONAL PUFF OF THICK SMOKE. THE VEHICLE MISFIRES AND IT HAS BEEN VERIFIED BY A SCAN TOOL (MY OWN AND FORDS). FORD'S TECHNICIANS HAVE VERIFIED THE CONCERN BUT HAVE TOLD US THAT WITHOUT A HARD FAULT, THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM FURTHER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION. WHILE IT MAY BE RELATED OR UNRELATED, THE TRANSMISSION ALSO JERKS WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND HAS A TENDENCY TO LURCH FORWARD WHEN GOING FROM 3-2-1 GEARS. THIS HAS ALSO BEEN VERIFIED BY FORD AND THEY HAVE MADE TWO ATTEMPTS USING TSB 16-0015 TO RESOLVE WITHOUT ANY IMPROVEMENT.
ON MAY 4TH MY BRAKES TOTALLY FAILED. LUCKILY I DISCOVERED THIS WHEN I GOT INTO MY TRUCK TO START IT UP FROM WORK. MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I POPPED THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR EMPTY. I AM LUCKY THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
STARTED TO HEAR A CLICKING/TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHILE AT IDLE. HAVE LEARNED THAT IT IS THE ETB (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY). I PHYSICALLY SAW THE ETB MAKING THE NOISE I AM CONCERNED ABOUT. TOOK TO FORD FOR DIAGNOSIS AND BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS NOT GIVING AN ERROR CODE, THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO. FOUND THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL HUNDRED COMPLAINTS AGAINST FORD AND THEIR ETB. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I AM TRYING TO PREVENT.
EXTREME WIND NOISE COMING FROM DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR
I EXPERIENCED 100% BRAKE FAILURE ON MY 2016 FORD F150 3.5L V6. I STARTED MY VEHICLE APPRX 530AM ON 4/30/18 TO DRIVE TO WORK. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE A "LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL" MESSAGE APPEARED. I WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY SURE WHAT TO THINK. I PLACED THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND AS I ROLLED DOWN MY SLOPED DRIVEWAY AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL - THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT ANY STOPPING CAPABILITY. I COASTED TO A STOP WITHOUT INCIDENT. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS VERY LOW, WELL BELOW THE MINIMUM MARK ON THE RESERVOIR. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER. UPON RESEARCH IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS SAME MODEL TRUCK HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HAVE BRAKE FLUID DRAINING TO THE MASTER CYLINDER. I DO NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN WHAT MY ISSUE IS. I SHOULD FIND OUT TOMORROW WHEN THE FORD MECHANICS CAN LOOK OVER THE TRUCK.
WHEN OPENING THE SUNROOF THE PLASTIC TRACK WILL BREAK CAUSING THE SUNROOF MECHANISM TO BECOME JAMMED LEAVING THE SUNROOF PARTIALLY OPEN AND UNABLE TO CLOSE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS TRACK HAS BROKEN
ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS INCIDENT NUMBERS 11090030, 11063919, AND 11048673. THERE MAY BE OTHERS, BUT, I DIDN'T GO ANY FURTHER. I WAS DRIVING ON A BRIDGE WITHOUT ANY SAFETY SHOULDERS AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER, "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" INDICATOR CAME ON, "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" INDICATOR CAME ON, AND "SEE MANUAL" INDICATOR CAME ON WITH THE WRENCH SYMBOL. AFTER NEARLY BEING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO AN OFF RAMP AND PULL OVER. THE TRUCK WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I SHUT IT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED IT AND WAS ABLE TO GET BACK OVER THE BRIDGE BUT THEN THE SAME EXACT SCENARIO HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE. ON THE WAY HOME, IT HAPPENED A COUPLE MORE TIMES BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME. I SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT A FORD DEALER TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN ON MONDAY. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 43,000 MILES ON IT. AS I MENTIONED EARLIER, I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURRED, SO, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 20-25 MPH, he heard water sounds coming from the body of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the door drains were inspected and drained; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Ford Service (1401 S Beacon Blvd, Grand Haven, MI 49417), where it was diagnosed that the sunroof rivets were installed incorrectly, causing water intrusion into the sunroof and curtain air bags. The dealer diagnosed that the sunroof, the sunroof frame and the curtain air bags needed to be replaced. The dealer forwarded the diagnostic report to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer agreed to partially cover the repair cost. However, the contact stated that the failure was due to a Manufacturer’s defect; therefore, the manufacturer should completely cover the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18,500.

I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SLIGHTLY OVER A YEAR AND HAVE EXPERIENCED COUNTLESS ISSUES, MOSTLY WATER LEAKS INTO THE TRUCKS CAB THAT IS WETTING THE CARPETING CAUSING HUMIDITY AND MOLD ISSUES, MULLINAX FORD TAKES THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR, SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRS THE VEHICLE AND RETURNS IT TO ME, THE ISSUES ARE STILL PRESENT AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPT. I REACHED OUT TO FORD MOTOR CO CUSTOMER RELATIONS IN REGARDS TO A BUY BACK, FORD DENIED THE CLAIM, THE REPAIRS HAVE BEEN SUB PAR AND PER MY OWN RESEARCH FROM OTHER SERVICE ADVISORS AT OTHER DEALERS ARE NOT THE CORRECT FIX. I REACHED OUT TO THE SALES DEPARTMENT FOR ASSISTANCE, THEIR ASSISTANCE WAS MINIMAL, OFFERING BELOW MARKET VALUE AND NO ASSISTANCE IN PRICING FOR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE, THE CARPETING IS WET CAUSING MOISTURE MOLDY SMELLS, AND MULLINAX HAS YET TO CONTACT ME WITH AN AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT TO FIX THESE ISSUES AND FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS HAS NOT RETURNED MY EMAIL BUT IS SUPPOSEDLY SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME WITH ON FRIDAY TO TOUCH BASE. IT WOULD THEN LOSE ALL POWER AND I HAD TO COAST OFF TO THE SIDE, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, WAIT 30 SECONDS, AND RESTART. IT WOULD THEN GO ABOUT A 1/2 MILE AND DO IT AGAIN. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE A MONTH EARLIER. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY HAS FAILED. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP WAS HAVING ISSUES REPLICATING THE ISSUE AND THEY WERE BACK ORDERED ON THE PART.THE VEHICLE HAS 29500 MILES ON IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS I COULD BE REAR ENDED. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON FREEWAYS WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENABLED, IF THE VEHICLE APPROACHES A VEHICLE IN AN ADJACENT LANE (TYPICALLY A LARGER VEHICLE LIKE A TRUCK WITH A TRAILER, SEMI, OR TANKER) THE COLLISION AID ACTIVATES AND HEAVILY APPLIES THE BRAKES. IF SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHIND ME, AS HAS HAPPENED IN AT LEAST 4 INSTANCES, THE INDIVIDUAL WILL NEED TO STOP AND MAKE AN EMERGENCY MANEUVER TO AVOID COLLIDING. IN BOTH CASES, THE BRAKING ONLY LASTED MOMENTARILY BUT WAS ENOUGH TO REDUCE THE VEHICLES SPEED 20-30 MPH DURING THAT TIME. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY FORD BUT THEY HAVE SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. FOR THE TIME BEING, WE KEEP THIS FEATURE DISABLED UNTIL FORD CAN GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR PREVIOUS YEARS BUT OURS IS NOT INCLUDED. BECAUSE OF THIS FORD HAS SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ON MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.
LUG NUTS EXPANDING. LUG NUT OEM WRENCH SIZE IS 21MM. LUG NUTS HAVE EXPANDED TO 22MM AND A LITTLE BEYOND. I UNDERSTAND OEM LUG NUTS ARE A TWO PIECE DESIGN. I HAVE SOME LUG NUTS THAT ARE "FREE SPINNING." MEANING ONE OF THE PIECES IS LOOSE FROM THE OTHER AND JUST SPINS WITHOUT THE ENTIRE LUG NUT COMING OFF THE BOLT. I HAVE HAD ONE LUG NUT COME OFF OF TIRE. UP UNTIL TODAY THE FACTORY AND FORD DEALERSHIP ARE THE ONLY PERSONAL TO TOUCH MY WHEELS. THE DEALER COMMENDED I PURCHASE AFTER MARKET LUG NUTS TO SOLVE PROBLEM, WHICH THEY ARE DOING ALSO. AS OF TODAY MY VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 44K MILES ON IT. EARLIER THIS YEAR THE DEALER STATED I KEEP AN EYE ON THE LUG NUTS BECAUSE THEY WERE SHOWING SIGN OF EXPANDING

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
2 DAYS AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER SAFETY RECALL 17S33 FOR THE DOOR LATCHES FREEZING, THEY AGAIN FROZE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. UPON FINALLY GETTING IT TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR WOULD THEN NOT CLOSE. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND ALSO THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE LINE THAT THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR THIS CONDITION AND THAT I HAVE TO CONTINUE DEALING WITH THE ISSUE UNTIL THEY FIND A FIX. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNSAFE!

THE DEALER TRIMMED THE ROTORS AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL AND THAT THE BRAKES WOULD ADJUST WITH TIME; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,800.
