DOORS WILL NO SHUT AND LATCH IN COLD TEMPERATURES. VERY UNSAFE. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE DAYS.
MY REAR WINDOW OCCASIONALLY LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX. IT COULD CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHORTS AND/OR MOLD/MILDEW IN VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE LOW OIL AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ARROWAY FORD (519 N BEDFORD RD, BEDFORD HILLS, NY 10507) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,519.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE SEEM TO PERFORM MARGINALLY AT BEST. UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS THEY SEEM BARELY ADEQUATE. WHEN IT IS RAINING AND THE ROAD SURFACE DARKENS OR SNOWING AND THERE IS ROAD GRIME COVERING THEM THEY ARE DANGEROUS. I HAVE OWNED OVER 65 DIFFERENT VEHICLES AND THIS VEHICLE IS AMONG THE WORST UNDER LESS THAN IDEAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
I BOUGHT THIS 2018 F150 LARIAT NEW, ON TEST DRIVE I NOTICED VEHICLE DID A LOT OF WEAVING TO THE POINT I ASKED SALESMAN TO DRIVE IT BACK AND VERIFY IF STEERED LIKE HIS 2017 WHICH HE DID. THIS VEHICLE DRIFTS ALL OVER THE ROAD AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GETTING OVER RUN WITH ELECTRICAL IMPULSES IN THE STEERING CAUSING IT TO DRIFT LEFT AND RIGHT CONSTANTLY AND AT IT'S WILL, IF YOU LOOK DOWN TO ADJUST THE HEATER CONTROLS IT WILL BE ACROSS THE CENTERLINE OR OFF THE SHOULDER IMMEDIATELY, AND THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT HIS FROM OWNERS. MY DEALERSHIP HAS ALIGNED THE FRONT END AND IT IS CORRECT, THE BEST WE CAN TELL IT IS IN THE ELECTRIC STEERING, AND NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH LANE ASSIST WHICH IS NEVER TURNED ON, IT HAS TO DO WITH THE EPAS AND THE DRIFTT CONTROL/CROWN IN THE ROAD CONDITIONS. IT FEELS LIKE THIS SYSTEM IS CONSTANTLY CREATING ROAD CONDITIONS IN IT'S MIND AND WORKING THE STEERING TO CORRECT FOR WHAT IS NOT THERE. FORD HAS AN ALGORITHM BUILT IN AND IT IS NOT WORKING AND NEEDS TO BE TURNED OFF IMMEDIATELY AND CORRECT THIS STEERING ISSUE. TO TELL YOU HOW BAD IT IS PASSING 3 CARS THE OTHER DAY AT 70MPH CROSSING INTO THE PASSING LANE THE TRUCK HAD SOME KIND OF HICCUP AND THE STEERING STEERED HARD RIGHT AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, IT ALMOST SNAPPED THE TRUCK SIDEWAYS, NOBODY WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS. GOING DOWN THE ROAD SLOWLY ON A FLAT SURFACE YOU CAN FEEL THE IMPULSES OR THE STEERING WHEEL/TIRES OSCILLATING EVER SO SLIGHTLY BACK AND FORTH, HOOK A TRAILER TO THIS TRUCK AND YOU HAVE A SWAYING BEAST ON YOUR HANDS. THIS STEERING SYSTEM IS VERY DANGEROUS, NOT 100% SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT IT DRIFTS CONSTANTLY BACK AND FORTH, NOBODY WANTS TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK, YOU START TO PASS YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT OUT OF THE STEERING, DEALERSHIP IS READY TO HELP BUT FORD KNOWS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH ALOT OF THEIR 2018'S, WAITING ON FORD FOR A FIX!
I HAD A FRONT COLLISION WITH A BRIDGE CONCRETE SUPPORT...I WAS DRIVING APPROX 30-35MPH AT IMPACT. THE SMELL OF GUN POWDER WAS EVIDENT AFTER CRASH. THE HORN WAS BEEPING, THE FLASHERS WERE FLASHING AND THE PLASTIC AROUND THE TOP INTERIOR STEERING COLUMN WAS UP. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON AT DASH...NO BAG DEPLOYED. $4000 DAMAGE TO TRUCK...I HAVE A SEPARATED RIB AND NERVE ISSUES IN MY BACK. THIS HAPPENED ON 2-28-2018. THE TRUCK HAD 2900 MILES ON IT.
2018 F150 MFG DATE OCT 2017- FREEZING DOOR LOCKS IN COLD WEATHER (<30F) THE LOCKS ON THE DOOR DO NOT OPEN...OR IF THEY DO, AND THE DOOR OPENS IT WILL NOT LATCH SECURELY. THE DOORS HAVE FLOWN OPEN AS I'VE GONE AROUND CORNERS...WHEN I THOUGHT THEY WERE CLOSED. TOOK TO DEALER YESTERDAY, THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME THAT FORD HAS YET TO REALLY COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON SOME MODELS BUT NOT MY SPECIFIC VIN YET IT HAS EXACTLY THE SAME BEHAVIOR AS EARLIER MODELS.
MY 2018 FORD F-150 WITH 7,800 MILES WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY WHILE WORKING IN MY GARAGE AT MY HOME. THE WINDOWS WERE ROLLED DOWN ABOUT 3" TO KEEP THE HEAT FROM BUILDING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT WAS 84 DEGREES OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. WHEN I WAS ROLLING UP MY WINDOWS TO PUT THE TRUCK BACK IN MY GARAGE, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW CLOSED AND I HEARD A CRACKING SOUND. NO VISIBLE CRACK WAS EVIDENT. I ROLLED THE WINDOW UP A SECOND TIME AND A VERY SMALL CRACK APPEARED IN THE UPPER CORNER WHERE THE GLASS TURNS UPWARD NEXT TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOOK PICTURES AND TURNED INTO FORD. IT WAS REFUSED AS THEY STATED THEIR WAS IMPACT. MY TRUCK HAS FACTORY WINDOW GUARDS AND THERE IS NOT A MARK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE GUARD OR PAINT. I SENT A CLAIM TO FORD AND THEY STILL CLAIM IT WAS IMPACT. WELL FORD ALL I HAVE TO SAY AS WHERE THE CRACK BEGAN TO PROPAGATE THEIR IS NO WAY POSSIBLE FROM THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE THAT YOU COULD HUMANLY POSSIBLE IMPACT THIS AREA OF THE WINDOW AS IT IS COMPLETELY CONCEALED. THIS VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY CONCRETE DRIVEWAY WHILE ROLLING UP THE WINDOWS. THERE IS ALSO NO WAY POSSIBLE THAT ANY FOREIGN MATTER COULD HAVE GOT IN THE WINDOW TRACK. THE FIRST PHOTO IS FROM THE EXTERIOR AND THE SECOND IS FROM THE INTERIOR SHOWING THAT THE WINDOW BROKE FROM THE MOST PROTECTED AREA AND DIRECTLY OFF THE CORNER OF THE GLASS WHERE IT INITIALLY STARTED.
MY TRUCK SINCE DAY ONE 12-08-2017 HAS HAD DRIVETRAIN ISSUES ERRATIC SHIFTING , CLUNKING IN REAR AND FRONT DRIVE TRAINS . THIS MORNING WENT PULL OUT IT FELT LIKE IT POP OUT OF GEAR THEN IN THUMPED BACK INTO GEAR THIS HAPPENED TWICE. BEFORE TODAY THE DEALER HAS REPROGRAMMED THE FIRMWARE WITH THEE 2 TSB TSB 17-2262. TSB 17-2272. IIT HELPED SOME BUT NOT GETTING BETTER IT IS VERY ERRATIC AND I AM CONCERNED THAT IT IS GOING TO BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE
IN COLD WEATHER THE DOOR LATCHES FREEZE CAUSING THE DOORS TO REMAIN UNLATCHED. THIS CAUSED MY REAR DOORS TO FLY OPEN WHEN I WENT AROUND A CORNER. THERE WAS A RECALL BUT IT DOESN'T COVER THE 2018 MODEL YEAR. MY TRUCK WAS MADE IN OCT 2017, AND I TOOK DELIVERY IN MID DEC 2017. THE DEALER WILL INSPECT, BUT AS YET FORD DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE A FIX FOR THE ISSUE.
WINDSHIELD HAS SEVERE PITTING AND IS GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY. ANY SUN GLARE CAUSES LOSS OF VISIBILITY AND I HAVE TO ACTUALLY STOP THE VEHICLE AND HANG MY HEAD FROM THE SIDE WINDOW TO SEE. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO SAND STORMS, ETC. I OWN A 1966 TBIRD WITH THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD AND IT HAS BETTER VISIBILITY THAN THE 2018 F150. FORD IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET AND NOT RESPONDING. The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the vehicle was inspected; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. However, the contact was informed that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil, and the engine needed to be dissembled for a comprehensive diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
I HAVE 2018 FORD F150 RAPTOR EDITION AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH IT SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2017 BRAND NEW. CURRENTLY THE ENGINE IS BLOWN AND IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF SERVICE FOR OVER 118 DAYS SINCE PURCHASE.I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, FIRST DAY AFTER GETTING TRUCK BACK FROM 28 DAY SERVICE AND THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WHICH IS WHY IT WAS IN SERVICE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND FORD AND THEY ADVISED TO KEEP DRIVING UNTIL THEY HEARD BACK FROM THE FORD HOTLINE. A WEEK OR SO LATER IT WAS BROKE DOWN SMOKING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. IN ADDITION THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OTHER PROBLEMS.
DURING COLD WEATHER THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. CANNOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. CONDITION REMAINS WHEN IN PARK OR WHEN DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON, IT REVERSED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT BEING SHIFTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND HEARD AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 900. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
NOTICED CHASSIS VIBRATION STARTING AT AND ABOVE 60 MPH. DEALER ATTEMPTED VARIOUS FIXES INCLUDING REPLACING DRIVE SHAFT, BUT VIBRATIONS REMAIN
MY TRUCK HAS A CONSTANT RATTLE/DETONATION/PREIGNITION NOISE DURING ALL DRIVING. IT IS ESPECIALLY BAD DURING HOT SUMMER MONTHS. IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE AS MONTHS HAVE GONE BY. IT IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE WHILE CLIMBING VERY SLIGHT UPHILL GRADES AND AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 35-55MPH. IT CAN BE HEARD FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE VEHICLE. THE NOISE IS COMING FROM ENGINE. A VIBRATION AND SHUDDER CAN BE FELT IN VEHICLE WHEN NOISE IS PRESENT. WHEN IT IS REALLY BAD, THE SOUND IS VERY LOUD AND SOUNDS LIKE A METAL HAMMER BANGING ON INSIDE OF ENGINE. I WAS TOLD THIS WOULD GET BETTER WITH MILEAGE, BUT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. I HAVE AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDINGS OF NOISE OVER THEN PAST 10MONTHS. I AM VERY WORRIED THAT THIS ENGINE IS GOING TO FAIL.
MY TRUCK HAS HAD AN ENGINE STUMBLING, HESITATION, AND MISFIRING PROBLEM SINCE DAY 1 OF OWNERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WOULD RESOLVE ITSELF AFTER 2000MILES OF NORMAL DRIVING BUT IT HAS NOT. IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE OVER 10 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. IT IS MUCH WORSE DURING HOT SUMMER WEATHER (IE TEMPS ABOVE 90F). OCCASIONALLY WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, THE TRUCK HESITATES AND FAILS TO ACCELERATE. I AM VERY WORRIED THAT IT WILL DO THIS WHEN PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. I AM USING MY 2ND VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO/FROM WORK AS THIS NEW 2018 F-150 V8 IS UNRELIABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHEN THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, THE PARK AID WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE BACK-UP SENSORS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO IMPERIAL FORD (8 UXBRIDGE RD, MENDON, MA 01756, 888-814-8373) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
TRANSMISSION HAS INTERMITTENT SLIPPING AND VERY ROUGH UP AND DOWN SHIFTING. IT ALSO HAS INTERMITTENT ROUGH HOT START (TRUCK KICKS FORWARD AS IF IT WANTS TO TAKE OFF DURING START UP). THE TRUCK ALSO HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING WHILE ON 'SPORT' MODE IN WHICH IT WILL NOT SHIFT UP TO THE NEXT GEAR EVEN AS IT REACHES THE RED LINE IN THE TACHOMETER. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE PROGRESSIVELY INCREASED SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK BACK IN NOVEMBER 2017. I HAVE BROUGHT UP THESE CONCERNS TO TWO SEPARATE FORD DEALERS AND BOTH STATED I HAD TO GET USED TO THE SHIFTING IN THIS NEW 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION. BOTH DEALERS ALSO STATED THAT THEY'VE HAD LOTS OF COSTUMER COMPLAINTS REGARDING MY CONCERN BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DIRECTION FROM FORD. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION MIGHT LOCK UP, SEIZE OR HAVE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN WHICH FLUID WOULD SPILL ON THE ROADWAY AND CAUSE ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. I HAVE LOOKED INTO SEVERAL FORUMS AND FOUND LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINS REGARDING THIS 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION. PLEASE HELP...THANK YOU
NOT ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN ENGINE STARTS FRONT AXLE JUMPS AND MAKES A CLUNK NOISE. DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. ALSO ERRATIC SHIFTING AND CLUNKING IN DRIVER TRAIN AGAIN NOT ALWAYS. CALLED DEALER SAID THERE BEEN SOME REPORTS OF THESE PROBLEMS BUT SERVICE BULLETINS YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE DROVE OVER BLACK ICE AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH INJURIES AND A CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (NEMER FORD, 323 QUAKER RD, QUEENSBURY, NY 12804), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION AND MAKING CLUCKING NOISE WHEN MOVE IT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND AT LOW SPEEDS SOMETIMES AND ALSO WHEN IT SHIFTS IT IS VERY JERKY AND NOT SMOOTH. AND IT JUMPS GEAR LIKE 1 TO 4 AND 5 TO 8.
ON FEBRUARY 10 2021 AFTER I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND I PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND REMOVED THE KEYS TO GET OUT AS I WAS EXITING THE VEHICLE IT ROLLED FORWARD AND ALL MOST HIT MY BROTHER WHO WAS CROSSING IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK BACKED UP PUT IT IN PARK, SHUT IT OFF REMOVED THE KEY WENT TO EXIT THE TRUCK AGAIN AND IT ROLLED FORWARD AGAIN. I REPEATED THE PROCEDURE AGAIN AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY TRUCK FOR THIS PROBLEM. THERE ARE SEVERAL RECALLS FOR 2018 F50 TRUCKS BUILT IN THE MONTHS PRIOR TO MINE. CLEARLY FORD SHOULD INCLUDE THE RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. THE CURRENT RECALL NUMBERS ARE 18S09 AND 18S10. MY TRUCK WAS SENT FOR SERVICE FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. I DO NOT WANT A VEHICLE THAT COULD ROLL FORWARD WHILE IN PARK AND INJURE OR KILL SOMEONE.
I am reporting a serious and ongoing transmission problem with my Ford F-150 that creates a safety hazard while driving. The transmission shifts very harshly and makes a loud thumping noise, especially when accelerating after braking in traffic. There are multiple occasions where I press the gas pedal and the vehicle does not move at all. After a delay, it suddenly engages with a very hard impact that feels like the vehicle has been hit from behind. This issue is extremely dangerous, especially in heavy traffic and on highways, because the vehicle hesitates or fails to move when attempting to accelerate. This puts me at risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times. The transmission has been replaced three times, but the same issue continues to occur. Despite this, the dealer has returned the vehicle to me stating that no problem was found. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle, especially on highways, and it is my primary transportation to work. The problem remains unresolved despite repeated repair attempts. I believe this is a serious defect that needs investigation.
Bad transmission shifting at 80k miles. Apearently is a known problems. There has been a few times it shifted so hard that my neck hurts the rest of the day also take a minute to accelerate sometimes leaving in in front of oncoming traffic. No codes or anything, I’ve been told that it’s normal
