WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE HESITATED THEN SEIZED UP. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE WAS IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF THIS VEHICLE HAD A RECALLED CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH AND AVAILABLE INFORMATION VARIES AS TO IF THIS MAKE/MODEL WAS INCLUDED. ALSO THE DEALER WHO SOLD US THIS VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 14 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE FIRE DID NOT CHECK FOR RECALLS PRIOR TO RESELLING THE VEHICLE.
FORD 250 LIGHT DUTY TRUCK BLEW #4 PLUG OUT OF HEAD WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. TRUCK ODOMETER REGISTERED 88,000 MILES AND AFFECTED SPARK PLUG WAS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TENVOORDE FORD, SAINT CLOUD MN TO EFFECT REPAIR. REPAIRS INVOLVED AN INSERT KIT FOR THE #4 CYLINDER AND TOTALED $950.00. VEHICLE WAS OPERATING IN TRAFFIC AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE BLOWN PLUG CREATED A NOTEWORTHY DISTRACTION AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE MANEUVERED OUT OF THE TRAFFIC STREAM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED FROM DEALERSHIP DATABASES TO INTERNET FORUMS; EVERYONE IN THE KNOW IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. IT IS NOT UNCOMMON, BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE A CONSENSUS THAT WE'RE ON OUR OWN. FORD NEEDS TO COWBOY UP WITH RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250 WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. HE STATED THAT HE WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PARKING BRAKE. WITH THE ENGINE STARTED AND IN THE PARK POSITION THE VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WHILE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. THIS OCCURRED TWICE WITHIN TWO MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THE CONTACT WAS UTILIZING A LARGE PIECE OF CONCRETE UNDER HIS WHEELS TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AWAY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 223,000. UPDATED 02/1710 *BF UPDATED 02/19/10*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THEN SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT SMOKE WOULD APPEAR FROM THE GAS TANK WHEN FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 187,821. UPDATED 9/1/09 *CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE INSPECTING THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT TOUCHED THE CROSS MEMBER AND IT IMMEDIATELY CRUMBLED IN HIS HANDS. A MECHANIC CAME OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT ALL OF THE CROSS MEMBERS THAT SUPPORT THE BED ACROSS THE FRAME WERE ALL DEFECTIVE. THROUGH RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT NUMEROUS VEHICLES OF THE SAME MODEL WERE EXPERIENCING THIS FAILURE. HE BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 217,000.
I HAVE HAD TWO (2) SPARK PLUGS BLOW FROM MY ENGINE ON TWO (2) SEPARATE OCCASIONS (1999 FORD F250 WITH 5.4 LITRE V8 WITH 150,000 KM'S). I'M NOT GETTING ANY COOPERATION FROM MY DEALER AND IN THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THE NET, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL MODELS AND ENGINES. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED IT WITH A "HEALY COIL" AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $560 PLUS TOWING COSTS. VERY DANGEROUS AS GAS IS EJECTED INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IT APPEARS THAT FORD HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN TO THEIR DEALERS AND THE SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD. OK IF YOU ARE UNDER WARRANTY. IT WILL COST YOU APPROXIMATELY $3500 IN CANADA TO FIX FORD'S DEFECTIVE PART IF YOU AREN'T. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN VIBRATING. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 40 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE REAR COMB OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN FOR REPAIRS BUT AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 149,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHEN THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED FOR A RECALL REGARDING THE MOTOR, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE SERPENTINE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BELT WAS REPLACED ON FEBRUARY 1, 2008. ON FEBRUARY 25, 2008, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT PORTIONS OF THE NEW SERPENTINE BELT SHREDDED OFF. A NEW BELT WAS PURCHASED AND PLACED ON THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO FURTHER OCCURRENCES. THE FORD DEALER ADVISED HIM TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR INSPECTION, BUT THE CONTACT REFUSED. THE PURCHASE DATE AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. 99 F250 SPARK PLUG BLOWOUT V10. *TR
I OWN A 1999 FORD F-250 PICKUP TRUCK WITH A 5.4 LITER TRITON V8. MY TRUCK HAS 103K MILES ON IT. I HAD JUST REPLACED ALL THE SPARK PLUGS LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. LAST WEEK ON MY WAY TO WORK, I HEARD A POP AND THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A BUNCH OF NOISE, LOST POWER AND QUIT. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL A TOW TRUCK. ONCE GETTING IT HOME, I NOTICED THAT A SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE ENGINE. MY #3 SPARK PLUG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BLEW STRAIGHT OUT OF THE HEAD AND DESTROYED THE IGNITION COIL PACK. AFTER DOING MUCH RESEARCH OVER THE INTERNET, I'VE FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE FORD ENGINES AND FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS WILL COST WELL OVER $3000 TO FIX. IT'S A GOOD THING MY ENGINE QUIT SO SOON, OR I COULD HAVE HAD GASOLINE SPRAY OUT OF THE OPEN CYLINDER AND CAUSE A SERIOUS FIRE. *JB
1999 FORD F-250 WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. CONSUMER HAD THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED. SHE WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A TSB THAT SHE NEVER KNEW ABOUT. FORD IS REFUSING TO REIMBURSE HER FOR THE REPAIRS. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS FULLY AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE PROBLEM WAS THE FLUID WOULD OVERHEAT DURING SEVERE DUTY AND WEAR OUT THE TORQUE CONVERTER, WHICH RESULTED IN THE RADIATOR, COOLER LINES AND HOSES FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO BE REPLACED. THE STABILIZER BAR LINK AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. THE WHEEL BEARINGS WORE THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE 4 WHEEL AXLE. THE 4 WHEEL AXLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE WHEEL BEARING HUBS WERE REPLACED FOUR TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 189,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 196,000.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK LAST WEEK WHEN MY 1999 FORD F-250 5.4 LITER V-8 TRITON ENGINE BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD ABOVE THE #7 CYL. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY POOR DESIGN, NOT ENOUGH THREADS IN THE HEAD TO HOLD THE PLUG IN. THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF FORD OWNERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE FIRES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY THE FULL COST OF REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THE MECHANIC SAID THE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY POOR DESIGN. *NM
TL* - THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH SAW A CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE MANIFOLD. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, WENT UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED AN OIL LEAK ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OR INDICATOR LIGHTS. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT FOUND A RECALL #02227 FOR THIS FAILURE. WHEN HE CALLED THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED, HE WAS TOLD THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE LIGHTS BLINKED ON AND OFF ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ASSUMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO BARE WIRES UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, THE LIGHTS FLICKERED ON AND OFF HABITUALLY WHEN THE STEERING WAS IN USE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
I SIMPLY PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY HEARD A LOUD POP THE TRUCK STARTED MISSING VERY BAD. LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD TO FIND THE #4 PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT. IF IT HAD HIT THE FUEL RAIL VERY HARD MY MECHANIC SAID IT COULD HAD RUPTURED AND CAUSED A FIRE. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND THIS A FLAW IN MOTOR HEAD DESIGN BY FORD MAY TRUCK IS NOW IN THE SHOP. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 8 WEEKS. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE STARTED WOBBLING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO CHECK THE ENGINE AND ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS WAS PUFF- PUFFING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED THE SPARK PLUGS DISLODGED AND DECLARED THAT ALL 1999 FORD F250 MODELS PRESENTED THE SAME DEFECT. THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT RECEIVED THE SOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE SINCE THE INCIDENT.
BEGAN TO HEAR A SLIGHT TICKING OF WHAT APPEARED TO BE A SLIGHT EXHAUST LEAK. WITHIN A MATTER OF A MINUTE OR TWO IT GOT LOUD, THEN THERE WAS A POP. THE REAR SPARK PLUG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BLEW COMPLETELY OUT OF THE MOTOR. I PULLED OVER AND WAS IN NEED OF A TOW. THE MECHANIC HAD TO PUT SOME SORT OF INSERT IN THE HEAD TO FIX THE HOLE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WERE CURRENTLY NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE, BY A FRIEND, OF THE RECENT FORD RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THE CRUISE CONTROL PART NUMBER MATCHED THAT OF NHTSA RECALL, #05V388000, REGARDING THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.*AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AT 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. AFTER DEPRESSING AND PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN AND RAN THE RED LIGHT INCIDENT FREE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE CORRODED AND RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH IN PINHOLE SIZE SPOTS. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE LINE AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. UPDATED 5/10/2006 - THE CONSUMER STILL HAS THE CORRODED LINE IN HIS POSSESSION. *NM

1999 F250 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD. *TS THE COIL THAT WAS BOLTED TO THE HEAD WAS HELPING TO HOLD THE PLUG IN THE HOLE, WHICH WAS A MANUFACTURING DESIGN FLAW OR A CASTING FLAW. *JB

DT: THE CONSUMER PURCHASED A USED VEHICLE IN JULY, A 1999 FORD F250. WHILE MOVING BACK TO WASHINGTON FROM NEW MEXICO, THE LEFT REAR TIRE TREAD PEELED OFF, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS SOME WEAR ON THE TIRES. THERE ARE 64,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK, AND OWNER DOES NOT KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE MILEAGE OF THE TIRES. THE CONSUMER CONSULTED THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND DISCOVERED RECALL CAMPAIGN. 04T003000 ON THE SAME TIRES. BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE, MODEL STEELTEX ,AT LT265/75/R16. THE CONSUMER WENT TO TWO DIFFERENT BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE DELAERS, AND THEY WOULD NOT HELP BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE NOT A PART OF THE RECALL-THESE WERE FOR EXCURSION VEHICLES ONLY THEY NOTED. THE CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE TIRES AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT OWNED A 1999 FORD F250. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION ON DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, BUT IT CAUSED DAMAGE VEHICLE. IT WAS HAULING A TRAILER, AND DID NOT HIT ANY KIND OF POT HOLE. TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS ELDORADO, TIRE LINE I 265/75R16.*AK
DT COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS WOBLING. PULLED OVER, THERE WAS A CHUNK OF TIRE MISSING. CONTACTED THE SHOP WHERE HE PURCHASED THE TIRES ,AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE TIRESL. FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUITE. THESE WERE COOPER DISCOVER HT TIRES. THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE A LOST THE TREAD, DID DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, IT WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE. TORE OUT THE MUD FLAP IT FLUG AND SCRAPED OUT THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE LINE WAS LT265/75R16.*AK
1999 FORD 250 BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE CAUSING DRIVER TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD AND STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TS WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE'S FRONT FENDER, RIGHT SIDE PANEL, REAR RIGHT FENDER , AND REAR TAILLIGHT WERE DAMAGED. THE TRAILER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED YELLOW PAINT TRANSFER AND SUPERFICIAL SCRATCHES (OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT). *NM
TRUCK BEGAN MAKING TICKING SOUNDS FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. WHEN STARTED A SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN OUT OF ITS MOUNTING HOLE. THREADS IN HEAD ARE NOT DEEP ENOUGH.
1999 FORD F250 EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER.*MR WHEN THE LIGHTER WAS HOT IT WOULD POP OUT OF IT'S CHAMBER AND ONTO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT A FIRE WOULD OCCUR. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *NM

VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP WAS INFORMED OF THE RUSTED BRAKE LINE, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK

THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT THE CYLINDER HEAD WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO NOT OPERATE. THE OWNER WILL CONTACT MANUFACTURER. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE BLEWOUT ON THE INSIDE SIDEWALL. THE VEHICLE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT, ACROSS A MEDIAN AND INTO 2 LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC (MICHELIN MNRHT, P225/60T16, DOT # 09575883). *NM *TC

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, I HEARD THIS LOUD POP SOUND. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, WERE MULTIPLE POPPING SOUNDS, SO I PULLED INTO THE IMMEDIATE PARKING LOT ON MY RIGHT TO TAKE A LOOK. UPON EXAMINING THE ENGINE, I DISCOVERED THAT THE 3RD SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN OUT. HAD TO GET A RIDE TO NAPA TO GET MORE SPARK PLUGS. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT TRYING TO REPLACE IT (BEING THE MECHANICALLY INCLINED PERSON THAT I AM) I REALIZE THAT I HAD A BIGGER PROBLEM ON MY HANDS. THE THREADS ARE SHOT AND WILL NOW HAVE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A NEARBY FACILITY FOR REPAIRS THAT ARE ESTIMATED BETWEEN $1500 TO $2000 (CONSERVATIVELY).*AK

WHEN ACCELERATING A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
FORD F 250 SAFETY ISSUE, CONSTANTLY HAVE TO MAKE CERTAIN THE TRUCK DOESN'T LURCH FORWARD ON RELEASE. *BF THE CONSUMER IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUTCH ON THE SIX SPEED MANUAL AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CLUTCH RELEASES ONLY 1 TO 1 1/2 INCHES OFF THE FLOOR. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE ORIGINAL HAD A RUBBER HOSE PART THAT ALLOWED EXPANSION WHEN THE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH FLUID WAS COMPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH FORK WAS BENDING. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT GEARS CAUSING A PAUSE THAT COULD RESULT IN SOMEONE ELSE REAR ENDING HIM. THE VEHICLE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS REPLACED DUE TO RECALL NOTICE HOWEVER THE CONSUMER STILL HAS TO LEAVE IT IN GEAR ON EVEN THESLIGHTEST GRADE BECAUSE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NOT HOLD THE TRUCK IN PLACE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY AGREED TO REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE FRONT CABLE AND THE PEDAL CONTROL ASSEMBLY. *TC THE A/C BLEW HOT AIR. *SC
AFTER FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE GAS GAUGE WAS HALF FULL, THEN ALMOST EMPTY. AFTER NOTICING THE GAS GAUGE THE CONSUMER PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A STATE TROOPER NOTICED GAS ON THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE GAS LINE. *AK *JB

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER HEARD A POPPING SOUND DUE TO LOOSENING OF ENGINE POWER. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, AND TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT. *AK
I TURNED RIGHT INTO A PAINT STORE PARKING LOT AFTER LEAVING A MAJOR HIGHWAY (M-32) WITH MY 1999 FORD F250 (69000 MILES) AND NOTICED A SLIPPING FEELING IN MY STEERING. WHEN I TRIED TO BACK UP TO LEAVE THE PAINT STORE MY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS POINTED TO THE FAR RIGHT AND MY LEFT WHEEL WAS STRAIGHT. I LOOKED UNDER THE RIGHT WHEEL AREA AND SAW THE TIE ROD END WAS SEPARATED FROM THE STEERING ROD. I HAD THE TRUCK TRANSPORTED ON A FLAT BED TO A REPAIR SHOP. I HAD ALL THE TIE ROD ENDS REPLACED. THE REPAIR SHOP, BEDFORD'S MUFFLER & BRAKE (9893458732) HAS SEEN THIS SAME TYPE OF FAILURE RECENTLY ON A FORD. I HAVE THE FAILED PARTS AND HAVE CONTACTED FORD OVER A WEEK AGO. THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED. *LA
TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE ON OUR 1999 F-250 SUPER DUTY FORD DIESEL AT 69,600 MILES WITH NO WARNING THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE DAY BEFORE WHEN WE WERE TOWING OUR 22' 5000LB BOAT AT TURNPIKE SPEED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A BAD CRASH.*AK
