I AM ON 3RD POWER STEERING PUMP AND 2ND. HYDROBOOSTER IN 53000 MILES 3RD. PUMP FAILING AGAIN I AM ALREADY OUT 1600 DOLLARS ON THESE REPAIRS .FORD HAS A MAJOR PROUBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS AND ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT .
QUESTION - I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SOME STEERING COMPONENT OF THE F250 FORD PICKUP; HOWEVER, THE ARTICLE DID NOT ELABORATE. COULD YOU PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BEFORE I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER. INFORMATIONAL, NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT TO TURN. IN SOME CASES, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT TURN AT ALL. *AK
VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP PROPERLY WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. WOULD SHAKE AND VIBRATE BADLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, MECHANIC NOTICED ROTORS WERE WARPED, WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKING PROBLEM. HAD THEM REPLACED AFTER 10,000 MILES.*AK ENGINE STALLS AND OIL LEAKS FROM THE TURBO INTO THE INTER COOLER. TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT. TIRES BEGAN TO BULGE OUT, CONSUMER DID NOT SPECIFY KIND OF TIRES. ELECTRIC WINDOW MOTOR FAILED. SEALS ARE OUT ON THE FRONT AXLES AND THEY WERE JUST REPLACED TWO MONTHS AGO. AIR FILTER SYSTEM IS INADAQUET FOR THIS SIZE OF ENGINE AND HAS TO BE REPLACED EVERY 2 TO 3 THOUSAND MILES. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND HIGHER, STEERING WHEEL JERKS OUT OF CONSUMERS HANDS, CAUSING A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, CONSUMER STATES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION, IF A ROUGH SURFACE IS HIT, STEERING WILL JERK OUT OF DRIVERS HANDS, VEHICLE WILL BOUNCE AROUND SIDEWAYS OUT OF CONTROL, DEALER INSTALLED SHIMMY SHOCK TO ATTEMPT TO CORRECT PROBLEM, CONSUMER STATES IT HELPS, HOWEVER HAS NOT COMPLETELY REMEDIED PROBLEM. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING ON A STEEL GRATE BRIDGE, VEHICLE BECAME VERY UNSTABLE, THIS HAPPENS AT POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 45MPH. FORD SAID FOR ME TO CONTACT FIRSTONE. FIRESTONE SAID THAT ALL TIRES DO THIS. TIRE DEALER AGREED TO PRORATE AND EXCHANGE TIRES, BUT DID NOT KNOW IF THIS WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING 30-35 MPH HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES DIFFICULT TO STEER AND THE CONSUMER LOOSES ALL POWER STEERING. NLM CONSUMER STATES WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT LOW SPEED THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND THE BOOSTER PUMP RUNS BOTH THE STEERING AND THE BRAKES. *YH
DAVID WARSHAW OF WARSHAW ENGINEERING WAS ASKED TO INSPECT VEHICLE AFTER ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN DRIVER RAY KANE WAS DRIVING, MR KANE STATED THAT THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO JACK KNIFE, HOWEVER THE INVESTIGATOR STATES THAT NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND WITH THE STEERING SYSTEM THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT. *SLC
THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE. I HAVE AN ESTIMATED 15 FRIENDS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD TRUCKS. THIS COULD CAUSE MAJOR PROBLEMS IF NOT FIXED AND YOU WOULD THINK THAT A 50 000 DOLLAR VEHICLE WOULD HAVE PROPOR WORKING DOORS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER HEARD A TAPPING NOISE, AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. A SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PART, AND INSTALLED A NEW ELECTRICAL COIL, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED.*AK
THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK BROKE. THE CABLE FRAYED AND SNAPPED. AS A RESULT, THE SPARE TIRE FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. *AK

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN HEAVY RAIN WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. CONSUMER SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC, AND VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER. THE RAIN PUT OUT THE FIRE. *AK
