WHILE DRIVING THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER AND REPLACED IT WITH A SPARE TIRE. FIRESTONE, STEELTEX AT, SIZE LT26575R16. *AK (RIGHT REAR SIDEWALL) *SC *JB
WHEN DRIVING AT AN UNDETERMINED SPEED VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BOTH FRONT ROTORS FAILED. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT 38,000 MILES, AND CURRENTLY NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AT 77,000 MILES. *AK THE ROTORS WOULD GET EXTREMELY HOT RATHER IN USE OR NOT. *SC
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH VEHICLE TREMBLED VIOLENTLY. CONSUMER PARKED AND CHECKED THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO NOTICEABLE PROBLEMS. CONSUMER DROVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND THE TREMBLING STARTED AGAIN. SEVERAL SECONDS THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. CONSUMER EXAMINED THE LEFT REAR TIRE AND DETERMINED THAT TREAD HAD SEPARATED AND WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN INTO THE DRIVER'S VEHICLE HEAD ON. NEITHER FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD AND NECK INJURIES AND WERE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *NM
CLUTCH ENGAGES WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER STATES THAT THIS IS A NORMAL PROCEDURE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ON AN ICY ROAD BETWEEN 35 TO 40 MPH CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND HIT A CHEVROLET ASTRO VAN HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER OF THE ASTRO VAN DIED IN THE COLLISION ALTHOUGH ASTRO'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING DRIVER TILTED STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID A DOG ON THE ROAD. DRIVE R LOST CONTROL, VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES , AND LANDED UPSIDE DOWN IN A DITCH. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUFFERED INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THERE WERE NO FATALITIES AT THIS TIME. *AK
WHILE TOWING A 24' TRAILER SPARE TIRE THAT WAS SUSPENDED UNDER VEHICLE BROKE FREE. THE SPARE TIRE WAS THEN RUN OVER BY THE TRAILER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM.*AK

ABS BRAKING SYSTEM MADE A LOUD HOLLOW SOUND WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THERE WAS VIBRATION AND TREMBLING THROUGHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL. *AK

WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS BACKING THE VEHICLE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, THE ENGINE STALLED AND DUE TO THE INCREASED ABILITY TO STEER OR BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ROLLED INTO THE KINGPIN OF THE FIFTH WHEEL AND DAMAGED THE UPPER LEFT REAR FENDER. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT OR REFUND. *YH *SCC
CONSUMER STATES HER TRUCK 'S ENGINE KEEP RACING EVEN THOUGH HER FOOT IS ON THE BRAKES, IT KEEPS RAVING AS IF WANTS TO GO, AND IF YOU LIGHTEN UP ON THE BRAKES JUST A LITTLE IT JUMPS FORWARD. TS

WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION DRIVER HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE, AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. DRIVER HAD DIFFICULTY STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON, CAUSE UNKNOWN. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS, STATING THAT VEHICLE WAS GETTING SOME SORT OF RESISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN FAILING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER STATES THAT HE HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER AND THEY SEEMED TO HAVE REMEDIED THE PROBLEM-LINKAGE ACCELERATOR. THE WINDSHIELD WAS LEAKING-RESEALED-STILL LEAKING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OKAY SINCE THE LAST REPAIR. NOW THE WINDSHIELD IS LEAKING WATER, AND IS RUNNING BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. THE CONSUMER HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING: WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE THE DRIVLINE SHIFTS FORWARD-LOUD BANG,WHEN STARTING OFF, THE VEHICLE SHIFTS BACKWARDS, THE CONNECTOR IS NOT FULLY SEATED(PCM MODULE), AND THE INJECTOR HARNESS INTERMITTENLY OPENS-REPAIR LOOSE LEFT VALVE COVER INJECTOR HARNESS CONNECTOR CAUSING HIGH RESISTANCE CLEARED. *SCC

PE00-040/TIRE TREAD SEPARATION/TIRE FAILURE: RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD A BLOWOUT WHILE DRIIVNG 60 MPH IN A 2002, FORD F250, ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, TIRE SIZE 265/75R16, AND DOT#8XW81XM2202. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK *YH
VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND OFF. 21/2 YEARS OLD CHILD WAS ABLE TO SHIFT GEAR OUT OF PARK. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFROMATION.*AK

5 YEARS OLD GRANDDAUGTHER ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED POWER WINDOW BUTTON IN CLOSE MODE WHILE LOOKING OUT OF THE WINDOW ,AND ALMOST HAD WINDOW CLOSE ON HER NECK. POWER WINDOWS DID NOT HAVE AN OVERRIDE FEATURE. CONSUMER HAD PLACED WINDOW GUARD TO PREVENT WINDOWS FROM CLOSING ALL THE WAY. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. I HAD A 5" LIFT KIT INSTALLED ON MY 2002 FORD F250 TRUCK. WHILE DRIVING THE BRACKETS SHEERED AND THE TRACTION BAR FELL OFF. LES SCHWAB OF PARADISE, CA REFUSES TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT.*AK

I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT APPEARS TO BE A SIDE WALL FAILURE OF A FIRESTONE LIGHT TRUCK TIRE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SHORTLY AFTER ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. WHILE ACCELARATING DOWN THE ENTRANCE RAMP I NOTICED A VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WHICH STOPPED ONCE I MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 55 MPH. AT THAT TIME I THOUGHT THE VIBRATION WAS DUE TO ROUGH PAVEMENT ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP. A SHORT TIME LATER, POSSIBLY 3 OR 4 MILES, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE BLEW. THERE WAS A SLIGHT LOSS OF CONTROL AS THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK FELT AS IF IT WERE SLIDING FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE TRUCK NOTICEABLY LEANED TO THE LEFT . THE EXTERIOR SIDEWALL (FACING THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK) OF THE TIRE HAD SEPARATED ENTIRELY LEAVING ONLY A SMALL RING OF RUBBER AROUND THE RIM OF THE WHEEL. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS IS THE TYPE OF FAILURE THAT HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHER FIRESTONE TIRES. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THESE TIRE WERE SAFE. *AK (DOT NUMBER: ? INTERMENTLY STLAWING WHEN SLOWING DOWN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. PH
THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. PH DEALERSHIP RECALIBRATED THE PCM AND INSTALLED A FLIGHT RECORDER. HOWEVER DEALERSHIP HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO READ THE FLIGHT RECORDER AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. MANUFACTURER NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. CONSUMER HAS RETAINED AN ATTORNEY. *TT *JB

WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY VEHICLE WILL VIBRATE UNCONTROLLABLY INSIDE OF STEERING SHAFT. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
THE MODULE ACTAVATING THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS ENGAGING AT IDLE, CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE, AND VEHICLE TO SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT MANUALLY APPLYING ACCELERATOR.*AK
I HAVE A 2002 F250 WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT AND THE GAS LINE STARTED LEAKING NEAR THE FILTER WHICH IS MOUNTED TO THE FRAME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACE THE LINE BUT I'M CONCERNED BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT IT RUSTED OUT. THERE IS RUST STARTING TO FORM ALL UNDER THE TRUCK. *LA
PASSENGER SIDE EXTERIOR MIRROR IS CAUSING BLIND SPOT WHICH RESULTS IN POOR VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND UNWILLING TO ASSIST IN THIS MATTER. *AK
AUTO-FORD F-250 POWER STROKE. WHEN THE CRANKCASE SENSORS GOES BAD THIS VEHICLE STOPS RUNNINGAND YOU NO LONGER HAVE STEERING BRAKES.IT HAS HAPPEND TO ME 6 TIMES BREFORE IT WAS FIXED. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.*AK
FORD F250 TRUCK CUSTOMER STATES THAT FORD IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE SPARK PLUGS BLOWING OUT**CC THE CONSUMER STATED THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE MOTOR, WHICH REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE. *JB
