EVERYTIME I DRIVE AND THERE ARE 'WHOOPS' IN THE ROAD, MY TRUCK VIOLENTLY BOUNCES.THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME. AND MY STEERING FEELS VERY LOOSE FROM IT. I CAN SEE MY FRONT TIRES SHAKING HARD, LIKE THEY'RE ABOUT TO FLY OFF THE WHEEL STUDS. IT STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS WATER LEAKING INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, MOLD WAS BUILDING UP ON THE REAR SEATS AND SEAT BELTS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WATER WAS ENTERING THROUGH THE CABIN AND HE WAS CONCERNED THAT IT MIGHT POTENTIALLY LEAK THROUGH THE MOON ROOF. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED A STRONG MILDEW ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON MORE THAN TWO OCCASIONS WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5.
I ORDERED A 2008 F-250 SUPER DUTY LARIAT CREW CAB IN MARCH 2008 AND TOOK DELIVERY IN LATE APRIL 2008. WHEN TRYING TO INSTALL A CHILD SAFETY SEAT, I REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEATBELT IN THE INBOARD REAR SEAT. IT WOULD NOT GO INTO 'AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE' FOR THE CORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT AS THE TWO OUTBOARD REAR SEATS AND THE OUTBOARD PASSENGER SEAT DID. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE INBOARD REAR SEATBELT ONLY TO FIND THAT ONE DIDN'T WORK EITHER. UPON CLOSE EXAMINATION OF MY OWNER'S MANUAL I FOUND THAT IT SAID THAT ONLY THE OUTBOARD REAR SEATS AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HAD SEATBELTS WITH AN 'AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE.' THE TECH SERVICE LINE TOLD MY DEALER THAT THE REAR INBOARD SEAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN 'AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE' AND LEO FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THE SAME. FORD WAS FORCED TO CHANGE FROM A 'TYPE 1 LAP BELT' IN THE REAR INBOARD SEAT TO A 'TYPE 2 INTEGRAL LAP/SHOULDER BELT' BECAUSE OF 'ANTON'S LAW,' WHICH WAS SIGNED DECEMBER 4, 2002. ONE OF THE PRIMARY REASONS FOR THIS LAW WAS THE 'INCREASED PROTECTION THAT CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF FOUR AND EIGHT GAIN BY HAVING A LAP/SHOULDER BELT MADE AVAILABLE IN REAR INBOARD SEATING POSITIONS. WHEN THESE TYPE 2 BELTS ARE INSTALLED IN THE REAR INBOARD SEATING POSITION, THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL, AND POTENTIALLY SAFER, SEATING POSITION AVAILABLE FOR A CHILD IN A BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT.' *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD DIESEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS A THREE SECOND LAPSE TO GET PAST THE THROTTLE BEFORE THE ENGINE REVS. WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, IT DOES NOT GAIN SPEED LIKE OTHER VEHICLES DO WITHIN TWO SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE DUE TO THE NEW COMPUTER CHIP THAT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT WAS WORKING CORRECTLY AND THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
IN HOT TEMPERATURE THE TRUCK STARTS BLOWING OUT WHITE/GRAY SMOKE THEN QUITS RUNNING. SET FOR 1 TO 1.5 HRS IT WILL START AND GO ABOUT 30 TO 40 MILES THEN QUIT AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 2 TIMES NOW AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. IT SAYS THAT IT IS AN OVER TEMPERTURE MODULE BUT IT HAS BEEN CHANGED AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE ON THE DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. HE DROVE APPROXIMATELY THREE BLOCKS AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AT A STOP SIGN. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. HE LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED THAT THE RPM' S HAD INCREASED TO 4,000. HE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT, BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RACING. HE SHUT THE VEHICLE BACK OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, AND THE VEHICLE WAS FINE. HE DROVE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH A NEW ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED THE VERY NEXT DAY AND THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AGAIN ON MAY 30, 2008. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER, WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION AND GET BACK TO HIM WITH THE RESULTS. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6.
IT HAPPEN ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I FIRST GOT THE TRUCK. I WAS GETTING TO A STOP SIGN AND THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES LOCKED, I WASN'T ABLE TO TURN AT ALL AND I HAD A REALLY HARD TIME BRAKING, I HAD TO USE A LOT OF FORCE TO BRAKE OR TO TURN THE WHEEL EVEN A LITTLE. THAT HAPPENED 3 DIFFERENT TIME. AT A STOP SIGN AND ONCE AT A TURN LIGHT WHICH WAS THE WORST CAUSE I HAD TO GO STRAIGHT INTO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THAT WAS ALL IN A 2 WEEKS AFTER THE ONE MONTH OF HAVING THE TRUCK. IT WAS COMPLETELY STOCK. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER SHIP THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. 3 WEEKS LATER I BOUGHT SO MUD TIRES FOR IT. AND ABOUT 2 OR 3 WEEKS LATER I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE STEERING BOX. WHEN ID BE AT A STOP OR NOT MOVING AT ALL, AM NOT ABLE TO TURN THE WHEELS AND IT MAKES A WEIRD SOUND WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL. THIS STILL HAPPENS EVERYTIME TIME I DRIVE WHEN AM STOPPING OR JUST TURNED IT ON, ANYTIME AM NOT MOVING OR STEEPING ON THE GAS, AM NOT ABLE TO TURN THE WHEELS. I TOOK IT SHORTLY AFTER IT FIRST HAPPENED AND THEY TEST DROVE IT AND AGREED SOMETHING WAS WRONG SO THE SAID THEY FIX IT. IT TOOK THEM A WEEK TO ORDER PARTS AND GET IT FIXED, BUT 3 DAYS AFTER GETTING IT BACK IT STARTED ACTING THE SAME. SO I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TIRES I HAD??. BUT I HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS WITH THE SAME TRUCK AND TIRES AND THEY HAVE NO PROBLEMS. YET THEY WANTED ME TO PUT THE STOCK TIRES BACK AND TAKE IT TO THEM. HAVEN'T YET. SO THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY. *TR
2008 FORD F-250. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A PROBLEM WITH WHEELS STATING A CRACK IN THE BODY OF THE WHEEL RUNNING THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE WHEEL FOR ALL 5 WHEELS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED A SIXTH WHEEL HAS SINCE GONE BAD.
2008 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN FALL 2007- WITH ZERO MILES. APPX. 3 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE, TRUCKS CAB RUBBED THE INTERNAL WIRING HARNESS INTO..CAUSING THE TRUCK TO HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND DAMAGES. TRUCK WAS UN-ABLE TO BE DRIVEN OR USED FOR APPX. 2 WEEKS, DUE TO REPAIRS. PROBLEM WITH WIRING HARNESS FIXED UNTIL APPX. 4 MONTHS AGO, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, TRUCK SHUT COMPLETELY OFF AND WOULD NOT START BACK. HAPPENS AT LEAST ONCE EVERY TIME TRUCK IS DRIVEN.... VERY DANGEROUS! STILL CONTINUING TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING....ALONG WITH OTHER PROBLEMS THESE ARE JUST TWO MAJOR ONES TO MENTION.... *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 50-60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY DURING WIDE TURNS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE MAKES HIM FEEL AS IF HE WILL LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HE RECEIVED AN INVESTIGATION LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING WHAT HE SHOULD DO ABOUT THE SHIMMY. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM, CRUISE CONTROL, AND AIR CONDITIONING FAILED. ALL OF THE GAUGES DISPLAYED ZERO. THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE, BUT NOTHING WOULD DISPLAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STUTTER AND THEN THE GAUGES WOULD FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS FAULTY AND WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10.
MY HUSBAND AND I JUST BOUGHT A NEW 2008 FORD F-250 CREW CAB PICKUP. WHEN I WAS INSTALLING THE CAR SEAT, AFTER WE GOT HOME, I NOTICED THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY LOWER ANCHORS FOR THE LATCH SYSTEM. I DID NOTICE THE UPPER TETHERS WHEN WE WERE LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT, SO I FIGURED IT WOULD HAVE THE LOWER ANCHORS. WHY ISN'T THERE ANY LOWER ANCHORS, THAT IS PART OF THE LATCH SYSTEM. ALSO, THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT IN THE BACK SEAT IS NOT A RETRACTABLE ONE, BUT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS. THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, YOU ARE NOT TO HAVE A CHILD IN THE FRONT SEAT, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A BACK SEAT. PUTTING YOUR CHILD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK SEAT IS THE SAFEST PLACE FOR THEM AND THERE IS NOT EVEN A RETRACTABLE SEAT BELT OR LOWER ANCHORS FOR A CAR SEAT THERE. IS FORD TRYING TO CUT CORNERS ON SAFETY? IF I WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TWICE BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS STANDARD FOR ALL NEW VEHICLES TO HAVE THE LATCH SYSTEM. I REALIZE THAT IT IS A HEAVY DUTY PICK UP BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT KIDS WON'T RIDE IN THEM. THEY STILL NEED THE PROPER SAFETY SEAT OPTIONS THAT THE LIGHT DUTY PICKUPS AND CARS DO. *TR
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED A 2008 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY PICK UP TRUCK WITH THE 6.4 DIESEL ENGINE IT HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. FOR NO REASON SOMETIMES WHEN YOU ACCELERATE THE ENGINE WILL STUMBLE AND A CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE POURS OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE SMOKE IS SO SEVERE IT WILL BLIND ANYONE BEHIND THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CASES WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE ENGINE WILL STUMBLE AND LOOSE ALL AVAILABLE POWER. THIS COULD BE A DRASTIC PROBLEM IF THIS IS NOT CORRECTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME AND THEY SAY IT IS NORMAL FOR THE TRUCK TO DO THIS BECAUSE IT IS PART OF THE EMISSIONS. IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN THEY ARE ALLOWING A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO TAKE PLACE. *TR
I HAVE HAD MANY ENGINE PROBLEMS WITH MY 6.4 DIESEL FROM LOSS OF ENGINE POWER , TO LACK OF POWER , WHITE /GRAYISH SMOKE, HESITATION , ENGINE ALMOST DYING TO ACCELERATION AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, I EVEN HAD AN OCCASIONAL ENGINE LIGHT COME ON, GURGLING SOUNDS , WHOOPING SOUNDS AND GRINDING ,METALLIC SOUNDS COMING FROM MY ENGINE. I WAS TOLD BY MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS THAT IF THERE IS NO ENGINE LIGHT THERE IS NO CODE IF THERE IS NO CODE THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS PROBABLY GOING THROUGH IT'S REGEN PROCESS AND THAT THE TRUCK WILL PERFORM POORLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I NOW HAVE 9000 MILES ON MY TRUCK THIS STARTED AROUND 1000 MILES AND I'M STILL HAVING ISSUES. I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER AND I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY VEHICLE AND THE DEALERSHIPS , ALONG WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY WHO NOW KNOW I HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE APPLYING FOOT BRAKE PEDAL, FOOT ALSO DEPRESSES GAS PEDAL. THIS OCCURS MOSTLY WHEN HAVING TO STOP QUICKLY. CONDITION INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE. CONDITION IS BAD WITH A STANDARD TRANSMISSION AND MUCH MORE SO WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. SELLING DEALER AND ANOTHER DEALER IN TEXAS SAID THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENT. IN MY OPINION THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
DRIVING NEW 6.4 L F-250 TOWING A 5TH WHEEL FROM OHIO TO ARIZONA. RADIATOR CRACKED WITHOUT WARNING DURING USE AND SPRAYED RADIATOR FLUID ALL OVER THE WINDSHIELD, OBSTRUCTING VIEW. STRANDED US IN MIDDLE OF THE DESERT FOR OVER 2HRS. *TR
PURCHASE DATE SEPTEMBER 13, 2007 OF FORD F250 TRUCK. WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK WOULD START VIBRATING AND I WOULD SEE WHITE EXHAUST SMOKE, TRUCK WOULD EITHER LOSE POWER OR INCREASE SPEED WITHOUT ANY CHANGE IN ACCELERATION. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 16 TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR NUMEROUS WEEKS AND HAVE PUT OVER 1,000 MILES DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN ATTEMPT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS AND GET A DIAGNOSTIC CODE. MARCH 2010 WHILE SLOWING DOWN I NOTICED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES FOR A SECOND OR TWO. BY RECOMMENDATION OF FORD OUR DEALERSHIP HAS FLUSHED THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES. THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ALMOST CAUSED MY WIFE TO GO OFF THE ROAD WHILE EXITING A HIGHWAY. THE DEALERSHIP HAD POSSESSION OF MY TRUCK FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JUNE 2010. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE STEERING AND BRAKE ISSUE. MOST RECENTLY WHILE OUT OF TOWN I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES 3 TIMES AFTER I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. IT APPEARS THE LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES LASTS LONGER. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT FORD MOTOR CO. DIAGNOSTIC PROTOCOL IS IF THE COMPUTER DOES NOT THROW A CODE OR A SERVICE TECH CANNOT GET THE VEHICLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING. WE HAVE BEEN MORE THAN PATIENT WITH THE DEALER, THE SERVICE RECORDS AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME WE HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THE TRUCK WILL CLEARLY SHOW WE HAVE GIVEN MORE THAN ADEQUATE CHANCE TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. NOW AT 90,000 MILES I OWN A VEHICLE THAT I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE OR ANYONE ELSE DRIVE IN FEAR THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REACT QUICK ENOUGH TO MAINTAIN CONTROL UNTIL THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES RETURN TO FUNCTION. *TR
ENGINE REV'S UP ON IT'S OWN. I DISCUSSED THIS WITH A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CLEANS IT'S SELF. THE FIRST TIME I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT IN ANY DANGER, THE SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC BUT I HAD CONTROL OF THE SITUATION BUT THE LAST TIME I WAS IN MY GARAGE AND ALMOST DROVE INTO MY HOUSE WALL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! 2008 F250: HAD THIS TRUCK SINCE 9-28-08. SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN APPLYING BRAKE MY FOOT ALSO TOUCHES ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING ENGINE TO RACE. ENGINE IS VERY QUITE AND DO NOT IMMEDIATELY REALIZE THAT CONDITION. THIS IS BAD ENOUGH WITH MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IT WOULD FAR WORSE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION, HOWEVER NO RESULTS WERE FOUND FOR THE FAILURE. THE BRAKES WERE REBUILT, REPLACED, DISSEMBLED AND CLEANED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
2008 FORD F-250 4-WD POWER STEERING. IF YOU ARE ON A MUDDY OR ICEY ROAD AND START TO LOSE CONTROL YOU CANNOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL QUICK ENOUGH TO REGAIN CONTROL IT'S LIKE THE POWER STEERING BELT BROKE. THIS WAS MENTIONED ON THE T.V. SHOW MOTOR WEEK SO THIS IS NOT JUST MY TRUCK DOING THIS. THIS IS ONE REASON I TRADED MY 2004 PICKUP. I DIDN'T CONTACT FORD MOTOR CO. OR THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY WON'T RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TIRES MADE IN MEXICO

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 40 MPH WITHIN FIVE SECONDS, WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE CONNECTION IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THEY RE-SECURED THE CONNECTION. APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE APC SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SHOULD BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DOES NOT KNOW IF THE APC SENSOR WAS REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. AS OF SEPTEMBER 26, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT CORRECTED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,310 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,545.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2008 FORD F250, I NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WOULD LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN BRAKING AS THEY SHOULD BUT WOULD NOT RELEASE WITHOUT REMOVING THE BUCKLE TO RESET THEM. BUMPS OFTEN SET OFF THE LOCKING. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND THAT FORD OFFERED NO FIX. WHEN THE SEAT BELT LOCKS, I AM UNABLE TO REACH FORWARD TO ACCESS CONTROLS OR TURN WELL ENOUGH TO SEE WHEN CHANGING LANES UNTIL I UNLATCH AND RESNAP THE BUCKLE. *TR

IN THE 2008 FORD SUPER DUTY PICKUP (ALL BODY STYLES) THE DRIVER AND ALL PASSENGERS EXCEPT THE CENTER SEAT ARE APPROXIMATELY 50% IN THE CRUSH ZONE IN THE CASE OF A SIDE CRASH. THIS RENDERS THESE CONSUMERS VERY LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE SEVERE HEAD AND CHEST TRAUMA, OR MORE LIKELY DEATH IN THE CASE OF A SIDE CRASH. THIS WAS DISCOVERED NO LATER THAN 13 MONTHS BEFORE BEING RELEASED INTO THE PUBLIC, BUT THE PROGRAM LEVEL MANAGERS IN THE COMPANY CONTINUED AND EVENTUALLY LAUNCHED A VEHICLE WITH A KNOWN RISK OF FATALITIES. THE DESIGN IS BEING CHANGED IN 2010 TO PREVENT DETECTION BY NEW FMVSS TESTING ON LIGHT TRUCKS. (SIDE POLE) THE TREAD ACT WAS DESIGNED TO ENSURE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF CONSUMERS BY REQUIRING AUTO COMPANIES TO IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY NHTSA AS SOON AS A DANGER IS DISCOVERED. IN THE CASE OF THE 2008 SUPER DUTY F SERIES, THE SIDE IMPACT DANGER WAS A KNOWN RISK LONG BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS INTRODUCED TO THE PUBLIC, AND THE COMPANY CONTROLS WERE USED TO PROTECT THE DESIGN FROM SCRUTINY, THUS ENDANGERING LIVES. GIVEN THE PLANNED VOLUME OF 400,000 PER YEAR, THIS DESIGN FLAW MERITS THE MAXIMUM $15,000,000 FINE FOR THIS VIOLATION. 2008 FORD F250 HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED AN ALARM MESSAGE APPEARED AS IF THE TIRES HAD LOW PRESSURE. WITHIN THE LAST 18 MONTHS, THE CONSUMER STATED THERE HAD BEEN SIX ALARM MESSAGES. TWO WERE FOR OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS PRESSURE AND FOUR WERE FOR SENSOR FAULT. IN EACH CASE OF THE PRESSURE ALARM, ALL FOUR TIRES WERE WITHIN 2 PSI OF EACH OTHER. WHICH WAS VERIFIED BY THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE TRAINED IN THE DEALERS SHOP. ONCE IT WAS DONE THE PROBLEM CEASED. THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO RECUR AFTER TIRE ROTATION, HOWEVER ONLY UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. NO ALARM WAS FORTHCOMING WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN, BUT AS SOON AS THE CONSUMER DROVE ON THE INTERSTATE AND TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES AT 65 MPH, THE ALARM ACTIVATED. THE CONSUMER WAS GIVEN SEVERAL EXPLANATIONS AS TO WHY IT WAS HAPPENING. HE WAS FIRST TOLD IT WAS HIS CELL PHONE CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED, NEXT HE WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES SHOULD BE INFLATED WITH NITROGEN, AS IT WOULD STOP THE PRESSURE VARIATIONS AND AVOID THE ALARM. 2 SENSORS WERE REPLACED. *JB UPDATED 08/07/09.*JB THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY AND NO PROBLEM EXISTED.
