Truck started leaking fuel and then the engine shut down the next day it was drove, while driving! I’ve received 2 quotes and need the whole fuel system replaced due to CP4 pump failing which will cost about $13,000! This is the same issue as the 24S78 Ford recall but my truck doesn’t fall in the correct year! I still owe 10k on this vehicle so it’s basically totaled now.
2011 FORD F250 WITH 6.7 LITER DIESEL ENGINE BLEW A FUEL INJECTOR DUE TO A BROKEN HOLD DOWN CLAMP. WHILE BEING REPAIRED, MECHANIC NOTICED TWO OTHER CLAMPS WERE CRACKED AND THEY WERE REPLACED BY UPGRADED CLAMPS FROM FORD. ENGINE HAS 62K MILES ON IT. WRITER HAS SEEN NUMEROUS POSTS ONLINE FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
FUEL FILTER EXPLODED CONTAMINATING FUEL SYSTEM
TRUCK STARTED GETTING BAD FUEL MILEAGE AND WOULD NOT GET UP TO SPEED VERY FAST TOOK TRUCK TO AUTOZONE AND HAD CODES READ WAS READING P20BD AND P20BE SO LOOKED UP VIN AND IT STATED IT HAD A RECALL ON THE DEF REDUCTANT HEATER WHICH WHERE THE CODES PULLED UP CALLED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR IT TO GET FIXED AT YAKLIN FORD IN RICH WOOD TEXAS TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY IT'S NOT COVERED ON RECALL AND NOW WHEN I LOOK UP MY VIN THE RECALL IS GONE WHAT CAN I DO TRUCK ONLY HAS 95000 MILES
THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR STARTED SPRAYING DIESEL FUEL ALL OVER THE TOP OF THE MOTOR . THE FUEL IS COMING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE SENSOR .THIS IS ON 05/25/19 .. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 132214 ON THE MILEAGE . I AM GETTING TIRED OF PAYING FOR A BROKEN TRUCK EVERY WEEK . LAST WEEK ON 05/05/17/19 THE INNER COOLER BOOT DUCT BLEW APART . THAT WAS A $480 FIX .

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE PUMP BLEW OUT UNDER THE HOOD. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
TAKATA RECALL. TRUCK JUST SHUT DOWN AND DIED WHILE DRIVING. WE TRIED TO RESTART TO MOVE BETTER LOCATION AND ONLY WORKED FOR FEW MORE FEET.NO WARNINGS AND WHOLE FUEL SYSTEM HAS METAL SHAVINGS IN IT AND COSTING 11,000 TO REPAIR AND FORD NOT RECALLING OR COVERING ANY OF THE REPAIR WHEN THEY KNOW THIS IS AN ISSUE CAUSING WRECKS AND EVEN A DISTASTER KIT ONLINE FOR THE PROBLEM WITH FORD TRUCKS FROM 2011-2015. WE HAVE SPOKE WITH MUTLIPLE REPAIR SHOPS AND OUR INSURANCE AND IT IS MECHANICAL FAILURE AND HAPPENS ALOT WITH FORD AND NOT A RECALL NOR IS FORD HELPING OUT CUSTOMERS THAT THE MECHANICAL FAILURE IS HAPPENING TOO. DUE TO FAULTY/SNAPPED INJECTOR CLAMP, FORD TSB 14-0233, A FUEL INJECTOR WAS BLOWN OUT OF MY ENGINE AN SPRAYED FUEL ALL OVER THE ENGINE BAY. FORTUNATELY FOR ME I HAD JUST STARTED THE TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY SO IT WAS STATIONARY AND NOT HOT.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 65 MPH MOTOR SHUT DOWN. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE SHOP I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD FAILED. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE WRITHER THAT A NUMBER OF THE FUEL PUMPS HAS FAILED ON TRUCKS LIKE MINE. COST TO FIX $8,400.00!!!
MY 2011 F-250 DIESEL WOULDN'T START 2 WEEKS AGO AND AFTER HAVING IT TOWED FOUND IT TO BE THE H.P.F.P HAD TORN ITSELF APART AND PUT METAL SHAVINGS IN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. IT WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME BUT I BELIEVE IT WAS OUT OF SHEER LUCK THAT I WASN'T ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM THAT THIS YEAR AND MODEL HAVE, BUT FORD WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS A PROBLEM OTHER THAN TO PUT A KIT TOGETHER FOR THE CONSUMER WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO SIMPLIFY THE ORDERING PROCESS. THIS IS A DANGER TO MY FAMILY AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD IF MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLS AND LOSES ALL POWER. THIS IS A FREQUENT ENOUGH OCCURRENCE TO WARRANT AN INVESTIGATION IN MY OPINION FOR THE THOUSANDS OF AFFECTED FORD DIESEL OWNERS.
I HAD A FUEL PUMP TO MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM TO BE REPLACE ON MY 2011 FORD F 250 AT A COST OF ALMOST $8000. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL VAPOR CANISTER AND AIR FILTER FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-250. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE CLAMP USED TO SECURE THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE LEADING TO THE FUEL INJECTOR FRACTURED CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THE FRACTURED CLAMP WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
ON 11/03/2014, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2011 FORD F-250 6.7 LITER DIESEL ON E. KIEHL AVE IN SHERWOOD, AR. THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF LEAVING HER TO HAVE TO NEGOTIATE TRAFFIC WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. SHE WAS ABLE TO AVOID A CRASH. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR TRUCK. I JUST HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED ON 09/30/2014 WHERE THE OIL AND FUEL FILTERS WERE CHANGED. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO NORTH POINT FORD IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR. THEY DREW FUEL OUT OF THE SYSTEM PAST THE SECONDARY FILTER. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE FUEL WAS CLOUDY AND CONTAINED METAL FRAGMENTS AND WATER. THE VEHICLE IS COVERED UNDER A 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. HOWEVER, FORD ADVISED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM HAD FAILED AND THAT IT WAS DUE TO CONTAMINATED FUEL SO THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. THE REPAIR BILL IS A LITTLE OVER $11,000.00. I HAD JUST FUELED UP ON 11/01/2014 AT MURPHY USA IN SHERWOOD SO I CALLED THE BUREAU OF STANDARDS FOR THE STATE AND FILED A COMPLAINT ON MURPHY. THE STATE CHECKED THE MURPHY AND ADVISED THAT THEY WERE WITHIN STANDARDS. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY SENT AN AGENT OUT AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS MECHANICAL FAILURE SO ITS NOT AN INSURANCE ISSUE. I SEEM TO BE GETTING THE RUN AROUND BY FORD. FORD'S HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM FAILED WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IF SHE HAD MADE IT TO THE HIGHWAY BEFORE THIS HAPPED, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN DOING 70 MPH. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. CLOUDY FUEL WITH WATER AND METAL AFTER THE SECONDARY FILTER WOULD INDICATE A FAILURE IN THE FILTRATION SYSTEM. EVEN SO, FORD'S DESIGN OF THEIR FUEL SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THAT IN THE SLIGHTEST. ALL DIESEL CONTAINS WATER. CHEVY, DODGE, FORD, VW, MERCEDES, ETC. KNOW THAT AND PUT FILTER/WATER SEPARATORS FOR THAT REASON. FUEL SYSTEMS SHOULD BE MADE OF MATERIALS THAT DO NOT RUST AND FAIL. *TR
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2013 WITH 99,000 MILES ON IT. IN JANUARY OF 2014 I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE CODE READ. AT THIS POINT THE DIESEL TECH COMES AND TELLS ME THAT MY FUEL SYSTEM HAS BEEN CONTAMINATED AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AND THAT I SHOULD CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO COVER THE COST. THE INSURANCE COMPANY SENT OUT AN INSPECTOR WHO TOOK SEVERAL FUEL SAMPLES. NOW AFTER 16 DAYS WITHOUT MY TRUCK THE TEST SAMPLES HAVE CAME BACK AS 100% PURE DIESEL FUEL WITH NO TRACE EVIDENCE OF CONTAMINATION AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST. THEY ARE CURRENTLY SENDING ME LEGAL DOCUMENTATION AS WELL. THE FORD DEALER KNOWING THIS INFORMATION REFUSES TO BUDGE FROM THEIR CONTAMINATION CLAIMS. *TR
FUELED UP DROVE TRUCK FOR 2 DAYS NO PROBLEMS. THAT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING TRUCK BEEPED LOW FUEL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND TRUCK DIED IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. GOT TOWED IN TO HEALEY BROS IN GOSHEN,NY. AFTER 4 DAYS WAS TOLD I HAD WATER IN THE DIESEL. BUT IF THERE WAS, THE WATER IN FUEL LIGHT SENSOR SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF AND IT DIDN'T. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAD TO REPLACE EVERYTHING FROM THE FUEL PUMP TO THE INJECTS. AT AN OUTSTANDING $10,000. AFTER 1 MONTH OF FIGHTING WITH FORD AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY, NOBODY WANTS TO COVER EVEN UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I HAVE. I GAVE DEALERSHIP OK TO FIX. ANOTHER MOTHER LATER SUPPOSEDLY STILL WAITING ON PARTS. AT THIS TIME I'VE HAD ENOUGH MAKING MY 400.00 A MONTH PAYMENT AND PAYING MY INSURANCE ON A TRUCK I DON'T HAVE, I CALLED A LAWYER. WELL WHEN THE LAWYER REQUESTED INFO SUCH AS IF FORD SENT AN ADJUSTER, WHAT TESTS DID THEY RUN ON FUEL, WHAT WAS THE % OF WATER, WHY DIDN'T THE LIGHT COME ON THAT THEY TESTED AND SAID IT WAS OK AND A WRITTEN STATEMENT BACKING UP THEIR STATEMENT OF WATER IN THE FUEL SO I COULD GO AFTER THE FUEL COMPANY THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THEM UP. NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY WANT TO WORK WITH ME AND FORD IS GONNA COVER THE WORK AND CREDIT ME 2 MONTHS PAYMENTS. SOMETHING SMELL ROTTEN IN DENMARK WITH THIS ENGINE PROBLEM AND HEALEY BROS FORD AND FORD THEMSELVES. STILL WONT GIVE ME AND HONEST ANSWER ON WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AND STILL WAITING FOR MY TRUCK. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE INTERSTATE THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RAPIDLY LOOSE POWER. THE WARNING LIGHT SHOWED "REDUCING POWER". THE TRUCK QUICKLY LOST POWER BUT I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT FROM THE TRAVEL LANES AS THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKE FUNCTIONS. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT DUE TO "CONTAMINATION" IN THE FUEL SUPPLY THE FUEL REGULATOR STUCK OPEN AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE. UPON VISUAL INSPECTION BY ME AT THE DEALERSHIP I EXAMINED THE METAL PORTION OF THE FUEL REGULATOR WHICH HAD RUST LIKE CORROSION ON IT DUE TO MOISTURE IN THE FUEL. FORD'S POSITION IS THAT THE MOISTURE IN THE DIESEL FUEL IS "CONTAMINATION" AND THEREFORE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THE SYSTEM HAS TWO IN LINE FILTERS ONE OF WHICH IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO SEPARATE WATER FROM THE FUEL BECAUSE DIESEL FUEL HAS A CERTAIN MOISTURE CONTENT IN IT. FORD WILL NOT WARRANTY THE REPAIR AND IS RECOMMENDING A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL SYSTEM OR THE REMAINING WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED. THE REPAIR IS ESTIMATED TO BE IN THE $10,000 TO $12,000 RANGE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT FORD(AS WELL AS OTHER AUTOMAKERS THAT USE THE BOSCH FUEL SYSTEMS) HAS MANY COMPLAINTS RELATED TO FRAGILITY OF THIS DIESEL FUEL SYSTEM AND THAT IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA.
