MY FORD FIESTA IS A GOOD AUTOMOBILE. HOWEVER THERE IS A PROBLEMATIC DESIGN FLAW IN THE BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL AND SIZE AND PLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE A SIZE 12 FOOT AND THERE IS INADEQUATE SPACE FOR PROPER CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ACCELERATOR. MANY TIMES MY FOOT MUST SWING COMPLETELY TO THE RIGHT AND HIT THE CENTER CONSOLE TO CLEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC TO ACCELERATE THE CAR. ALSO THE BRAKE LEVER TO THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS WAY TOO MUCH TRAVEL FOR SUCH A SMALL AUTOMOBILE. WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL IN A EMERGENCY STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSES PAST A POINT WHERE THE TOP OF MY SHOE TOUCHES THE ACTUAL LEVER ARM THAT THE PEDAL IS ATTACHED TO, THEREBY RESULTING IN UNPREDICTED SUDDEN INCREASE IN BRAKING. THE BRAKE PEDAL ITSELF IS TOO SMALL IN WIDTH FOR BIG FEET. I ALSO MANAGED ONE TIME WHILE BRAKING TO TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR AT THE SAME TIME. OLDER FORD CARS AND TRUCKS REQUIRED ONLY TO TAP THE BRAKE A SMALL DISTANCE BEFORE COMPLETE STOP. WHY DID THIS CHANGE? I HAVE CHECKED THE BRAKE LEVEL FLUIDS AND THEY ARE AS SPECIFIED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. I FEEL WHEN USING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT SHOULD NOT DEPRESS PAST THE POINT OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IF THEY ARE LOCATED SO CLOSE. THIS SITUATION MAKES ONE CONSCIOUS CONSTANTLY ABOUT FOOT PLACEMENT WHILE DRIVING. THIS COMPLAINT SHOULD BE E-MAILED TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT FORD ASAP SO THEY CAN TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION IMMEDIATELY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THE WRENCH AND OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED SIMULTANEOUSLY. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THAT INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE OIL HAD EXPIRED. UPON DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT OVER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WAS GAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER RESET THE LIGHT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35-45 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THERE WAS ALSO A METAL ON METAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE ENGINE SHUTTERS CAUSING A DELAY IN ACCELERATION.THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSE MANY ACCIDENTS. IT IS VERY STARTLING WHEN THE WHOLE VEHICLE STARTS TO BOUNCE AND SHAKE. CLUTCH PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACE 2 TIMES NOW. OTHER WORK HAS BEEN DONE TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO LUCK.OVER 20 TIMES IN SHOP. I ALSO HAVE BEEN TOLD FORD HAS CHOSEN TO SET GUIDE LINES NOW THAT THEY SAY SHUTTER IN THE TRANSMISSION IS NORMAL. NORMAL DOES NOT HELP WHEN I'M TRYING TO PULL OUT ON A HIGHWAY AND LOSE POWER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE HAS BEEN OTHER REPORTED ISSUES. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO FAIL TO GO INTO NEUTRAL WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. CAR STARTED WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES INITIALLY WITH THE CAR TRYING TO FIGHT THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES JUST BEFORE STOPPING. AT TIMES THE CAR SIGNIFICANTLY OVERCOMES THE BRAKES. ON ONE INSTANCE THE CAR FAILED TO STOP AT RED LIGHT AND MANAGED TO CREEP INTO THE INTERSECTION BEFORE STOPPING. THE TRANSMISSION DOES SEEM TO HAVE SAFETY PROBLEMS PARTICULARLY IT MAKES IT HARD TO PREDICT HOW THE CAR WILL COME TO A STOP FROM A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE STOPPING IS JERKY AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE IS VARIABLE AND INCONSISTENT DUE TO THE "JERKY" BEHAVIOR OF TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES MOMENTARILY. AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT PRODUCED A VIOLENT JERK WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,281.
MAKES LOUD GRINDING SOUND AND SEEMS LIKE THE CAR IS ABOUT TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR ALSO SEEMS TO STALL WHEN DRIVING FROM A FULL STOP. TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS. *TR

THE AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY ON IMPACT AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED BACK AS A RESULT. THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND HESITATES AS IF IT WERE TO STALL WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TCM MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,600.
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO A NEW 2011 FORD FIESTA WITH THE POWERSHIFT 6-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. 3 TIMES NOW I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE TRANSMISSION HESITATE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE ENGAGING. EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED I HAVE BEEN COASTING IN TRAFFIC AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15-25 MPH OR SO, WAITING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO PASS AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT GETTING HIT. WHEN DOING THIS, INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING QUICKLY TO AVOID GETTING HIT BY TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS REVVING BUT NOT ENGAGING THE CLUTCH SO I WOULD END UP JUST COASTING ACROSS LANES OF INCOMING TRAFFIC. TO AVOID HAVING THIS HAPPEN I HAVE LEARNED THAT I HAVE TO QUICKLY AND FULLY STOMP ON THE GAS PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO REALIZE I'M IN NEED OF QUICK ACCELERATION. USING ONLY MODERATE PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL YIELDS THE SCARY HESITATION THAT HAS LEAD TO NEAR IMMINENT COLLISIONS. LIGHT PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL TENDS TO MAKE THE CAR BARELY ACCELERATE AT ALL AND SOMETIMES FEEL LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO STALL. I HAVE A VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT KEEPS HAVING A GRINDING NOISE LIKE IT HAS A HARD TIME GOING INTO GEAR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE PROBLEM IS WORSE WHEN TRYING TO QUICKLY STOP AS WELL AS ACCELERATING RIGHT AFTER. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS CURRENTLY KEEPING THE FIESTA IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NORMAL AND THERE IS NO REPAIR IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOW NOT ROLLING UP RIGHT. THIS WAS FIXED BUT I THINK THAT OVER TIME IT WILL START TO BE A PROBLEM AGAIN. THE FINAL PROBLEM IS THE SOUND SYSTEM NOT BEING PROPERLY WIRED AS I PLUGGED MY PHONE TO CHARGE AND THE RADIO STOPPED GETTING RECEPTION. *TR
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 FORD FIESTA. IN THE PAST 5 MONTHS I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM 5 TIMES BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND LURCHES FORWARD WHEN I AM ON A HILL OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE AS WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY BOTH SAY IT IS "NORMAL". AFTER CONTACTING FORD DIRECTLY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY LOCAL FORD CONTACTED ME AND WENT ON A TEST DRIVE WITH ME WHERE HE SAID HE BOTH HEARD AND FELT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. HE THEN TOOK A CAR RIGHT OFF THE LOT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND TOLD ME THAT ONE DID NOT DO ANY OF THE THINGS MINE IS DOING. A COUPLE HOURS LATER I GET A CALL FROM HIM STATING FORD HAS TOLD HIM THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE CAR TO MAKE THESE NOISES AND LURCH FORWARD AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO FOR ME. ASSURING ME THAT THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT IF THE TRANSMISSION FAILS IT WILL BE COVERED. I DRIVE 70 MILES A DAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON HILLS AND TO ME THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE COMPLAINED TO FORD ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM SO THEY DID THE TSB FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE NOW WHEN I AM ON A HILL THE CAR ROLLS BACK AND THE GRINDING NOISE IS WORSE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK RIGHT AFTER THEY PERFORMED THE TSB AND TOLD THEM AND THEY ARE STILL SAYING THIS IS NORMAL. *TR
EVER SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE DUEL CLUTCH 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION. WHEN UPSHIFTING THROUGH THE FIRST 4 GEARS TRANSMISSION SOUNDS LIKE A TIN CAN FULL OF MARBLES. UPSHIFTS A HARSH WITH A JERKING MOTION. TRANSMISSION IS RELUCTANT TO DOWN SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT AND WHEN I'VE TRIED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE RESPONDS LIKE IT NOT IN FIRST GEAR BY JERKING AND LUGGING DURING ACCELERATION UNTIL THE SPEED BUILDS UP. I'VE HAD ONE CASE WERE THE TRANSMISSION ACTED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL WHEN I LEFT A RED LIGHT. I WAS FORCED TO RELEASE THE GAS AND STEP ON THE BRAKE BEFORE IT ACTED NORMALLY. I'VE ALSO HAD ISSUES THE RPM NOT DROPPING DURING BRAKING REQUIRING ADDITIONAL BRAKE PRESSURE TO BRING VEHICLE TO STOP. I'VE CONTACTED FORD NUMEROUS TIMES ON THESE ISSUES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD ITS EITHER NORMAL, OR THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION EMITTED A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WITH EXCESSIVE HESITATION. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO RESPOND DURING ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. MOST RECENT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND AN ENGINEER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THE TRANSMISSION RESPONSE WAS A COMMON CHARACTERISTIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
I PURCHASED A FORD FIESTA 2011 IN OCTOBER, 2010. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP (AROUND 8,000 MILES), THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUTTER UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING UP OR DOWN AN INCLINE; WHEN MOVING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BACK AND FORTH QUICKLY (IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, FOR EXAMPLE, OR WHEN ACCELERATING TO TURN LEFT FROM A STOP) THE RPMS WOULD JUMP AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROMPTLY, AND THEN ONLY AFTER HARSH JERKING. NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP RESULTED IN SEVERAL EXPLANATIONS (AND COSTLY "REPAIRS"), INCLUDING BEING TOLD I NEEDED A COMPLETE ENGINE FLUSH, FAULTY BRAKE CALIPERS, RECALIBRATION OF THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE, AND THE CLASSIC "THAT IS NORMAL OPERATION FOR THE CAR." AS OF FEBRUARY, 2015 (MY CAR NOW HAS 50,000), THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO PERSIST AND, MOST CONCERNING OF ALL, MY CAR WILL NOW PERIODICALLY STALL WITH COMPLETE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL FAILURE. PLEASE NOTE THE ISSUE DESCRIBED ABOVE OCCURS FROM A STOP AND/OR AT SLOW SPEEDS. MY CAR HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT OR PULL INTO THE ROAD FROM A DRIVEWAY. THESE ARE PARTICULARLY HAZARDOUS TIMES FOR THE CAR TO FAIL AND SEVERELY COMPROMISE NOT ONLY MY SAFETY BUT THOSE OF OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. FRUSTRATINGLY, THE DEALERSHIPS CONSISTENTLY REPORT "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR" AND "IT FUNCTIONS NORMALLY." A CAR LIKE MINE -- RELATIVELY NEW, AVERAGE MILEAGE, WITH MAINTENANCE ALWAYS COMPLETED AT A FORD DEALERSHIP AND ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS -- SHOULD NOT STALL. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED EACH AND EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND FORD'S APPARENTLY INABILITY TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. *TR
I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPACE AT HOME. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN. THE CAR THEN SPED UP AND LUNGED FORWARD, JUMPED OVER THE CEMENT BUMPER AND SLAMMED INTO SOME POTTED PLANTS. I WAS TRYING TO STOP THE CAR, BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I HIT THE POTS. *TT
IN A CAR CRASH ON JULY 6, 2011, A 2011 FORD FIESTA WAS HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR WHILE THE FORD WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THE SEVEN AIR BAGS SUPPOSEDLY IN THE VEHICLE, NEVER DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR RELIED ON LAP BELTS AND SHOULDER BELTS ONLY. THE FIESTA WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 MPH AND THE ONCOMING CAR, 50 MPH. THERE IS A QUESTION AS TO WHETHER AIR BAGS WERE EVEN IN THE CAR (STOLEN OR TAKEN OUT, ETC). *TR

THE SECOND DEALER WAS ABLE TO LOCATE AN OIL LEAK AROUND THE SEAL, WHICH WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,700. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JUNE 2011. RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING IT HAS HAD A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE CAR SHUDDERS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. SOMETIMES IT'S LIGHT SHUDDERING AND SOMETIMES IT'S VERY ROUGH WHERE THE WHOLE CAR IS JERKING. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INCIDENCES WHERE I WAS TURNING LEFT AND THOUGHT I HAD PLENTY OF TIME BUT THE CAR DECIDES TO SHUDDER AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. MY HUSBAND HAD A SUPER CLOSE CALL. SAME THING TURNING LEFT AND THE CAR WAS SHUDDERING SO BAD IT JUST WOULDN'T GO AND HE WAS ALMOST HIT BY A TRUCK. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES TO BE FIXED AND EACH TIME IT'S FIXED FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME BUT EVENTUALLY THE SHUDDERING COMES RIGHT BACK. A QUICK SNAPSHOT OF THE STORY IS THAT WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW FORD FIESTA THROUGH MILITARY CAR SALES IN JUNE OF 2011. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR LESS THAN ONE MONTH AND PUTTING 1,400 MILES ON IT, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON IT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR VACATION. WE LOST A DAY OF OUR VACATION AND SOME CASH IN NON-REFUNDABLE HOTELS STAYS BUT ENDED UP WITH A RENTAL CAR WHICH WAS FINALLY COVERED UNDER THE MILITARY CAR SALES WARRANTY. ONE MONTH LATER, WE GOT THE CAR BACK AND AFTER ANOTHER MONTH AND ANOTHER 1,500 MILES, THE SECOND TRANSMISSION WENT OUT... A MONTH AND A HALF LATER AND TWO MORE TRANSMISSIONS, WE FINALLY GOT THE CAR BACK. SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO THE FORD DEALER FOUR TIMES TO CORRECT ISSUES WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (COMPUTER PROGRAMMING); ONE TIME THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE MY WIFE EXPERIENCED WITH THE CAR AND WE WERE FORCED TO ACCEPT IT BACK AS IS. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY AND OUR LOVELY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR THE PAST MONTH GETTING ANOTHER TRANSMISSION, WITH NO END DATE IN SIGHT. MILITARY CAR SALES WARRANTY DEPARTMENT CONTINUES TO CLAIM THAT WE DO NOT MEET THERE GUIDELINES/THRESHOLD TO WARRANT THEM BUYING BACK OR REPLACING THE CAR. MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD TO TAKE COUNTLESS HOURS OFF OF WORK TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER, PICK IT UP, GET THE RENTAL CARS, RENEW THE RENTAL AGREEMENTS, GO TO PMO OR CUSTOM AND THEN GET A NEW GAS CARD; NONE OF WHICH WE GET COMPENSATED/REIMBURSED FOR. PART OF THE ISSUE IS THAT SINCE THE VEHICLES PURCHASED ON BASE ARE U.S. SPECS, GERMAN FORD DEALER WILL REPAIR WARRANTED ITEMS, BUT ARE NOT ACCOUNTABLE TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE IF IT IS DEEMED TO BE A "LEMON"; THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MILITARY CAR SALES WARRANTY DEPARTMENT. HAD I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN THE U.S. I WOULD SIMPLY DRIVE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND HE WOULD REPLACE IT, NOT QUITE THE CASE HERE IN GERMANY. *TR

2011 FORD FIESTA HAS A "BLUBBERING" TRANSMISSION, MOST NOTABLY WHEN ACCELERATING SLOWLY. BEYOND THIS, MY VEHICLE HAS NOW STOPPED ACCELERATING AND SLOWED TO A COMPLETE STOP AT LEAST 8 TIMES IN LESS THAN ON MONTH. AFTER THE VERY FIRST INCIDENT, I WAS ABLE TO TURN MY CAR BACK ON, BUT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN WITHIN 5 MINUTES. THE SECOND TIME, THE CAR DID NOT TURN BACK ON. I WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM, RESET THE COMPUTER, AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. THE NEXT MORNING, THE VEHICLE STOPPED AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY ON THE WAY TO WORK. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT FORD DEALER THAT DID A MORE THOROUGH INSPECTION. THEY REPLACED A FUSE, EXPLAINING THAT IT MIGHT BE A POWER ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WAS FINE FOR ANOTHER WEEK, BUT THEN STOPPED 4 TIMES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS MONTH. THEY CONTACTED FORD ENGINEERS WHO HELPED THE MECHANICS DETERMINE THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE DOORS (BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE) HAVE PERIODIACALLY FAILED TO UNLOCK AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, WITHOUT HITTING THE UNLOCK BUTTON EITHER ON THE KEY OR ON THE DASH (THIS HAS OCCURED ON ALL DOORS EXCEPT THE DRIVERS SO FAR). I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES AND SINCE THEY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM THEY EITHER WON'T OR CAN'T FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE ALL THE DOORS WILL FAIL TO UNLOCK TRAPPING PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS ALSO TROUBLING BECAUSE THERE ARE NO MANUAL BUTTONS TO UNLOCK INCASE THE SYSTEM FAILS. WHETHER IT IS A WIRING PROBLEM, A PROBLEM WITH THE MASTER UNLOCKING MODULE OR LACK OF REPAIR KNOWLEDGE WITH THE DEALERSHIP I DON'T KNOW. *TT
FROM PURCHASE TO THIS DATE 06/24/2014 THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. AFTER SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING COMPLETELY, WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED, THERE IS A HESITATION...ALMOST FEELS LIKE AIR IN THE GAS LINE...IT CUTS OUT AND THEN JERKS AS IT TAKES OFF. THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY BUT COULD HAVE HAPPENED OUT ON THE ROAD, IN A CROWDED PARKING LOT, ANY NUMBER OF OTHER PLACES WHERE THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN HORRIFIC. WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER TOYOTA FIASCO ON OUR HANDS. FORD IS TRYING TO COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS BUT THEY ARE ALSO TRYING TO KEEP THE PROBLEMS UNDER WRAPS. AT 232 MILES WE STARTED TAKING THIS CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, AND WERE TOLD THEY HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON, BEFORE 60,000 MILES THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION OR DID SOFTWARE UPDATES NUMEROUS TIMES, ALSO AFTER 60,000 IT CONTINUED. IN ADDITION THE AIR CONDITIONING HAD ISSUES OVER AND OVER AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ALSO HAD ISSUES AFTER RECALLS FOR SOMETHING TO DUE WITH THE BATTERY HARNESS, MY LIGHTS WENT OUT, MY RADIO STOPPED WORKING, MY AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND MANY OTHER ODD ELECTRICAL THINGS HAPPENED AT THIS POINT THIS CAR SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF SAFETY ISSUES, WHILE I WAIT AND HOPE THAT FORD IS FORCED TO DO A BUY BACK. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER WHEN SHE WENT OFF TO COLLEGE IN THE HOPES SHE WOULD HAVE A SAFE RELIABLE CAR, IT HAS BEEN ANYTHING BUT THAT, SO MANY PROBLEMS OVER THE YEARS BUT UNABLE TO FINANCIALLY TO PURCHASE ANOTHER AND FORCED TO SPEND MONEY ON REPAIRS TO KEEP THIS ONE RUNNING. I AM SO UPSET THAT THEY KNEW BEFORE THEY EVER PUT THIS CAR ON THE ROAD THAT IT WAS UNSAFE JUST SO THEY COULD MAKE MONEY AT THE RISK THEY WERE PUTTING PEOPLE IN, THERE WERE SEVERAL TIMES MY DAUGHTERS CAR WOULD SHAKE STUTTER AND SLOW DOWN THAT SHE HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.. TRANSMISSION SHIFT ERRATICLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVILY CONGESTED TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES IT WILL MAKE VEHICLE LUNGE FORWARD WITH VERY LIGHT FUEL PEDAL APPLICATION. REAR SEAT BACKS WILL NOT LOCK IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. THEREFORE ANY HEAVY OBJECT IN THE TRUNK WILL BECOME A PROJECTILE FORCING THE BACK SEAT DOWN AND THE PROJECTILE INTO THE BACK OR HEAD OF A FRONT SEAT DRIVER OR PASSENGER IN A SUDDEN STOP OR FRONT END COLLISION. *TR

MY FIESTA WOULD NOT START AND AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR IT HESITATED AND STARTED IT JERKED AND SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS BADLY MISSING....WHEN DRIVEN TO DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON...IT WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY AND THE RPMS WENT TO 3000RPMS BEFORE SHIFTING INTO ANY GEAR. DEALERSHIP STATED VEHICLE DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM AND AGAIN RE-PROGRAMMED AND UP-DATED THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER. I WAS VERY UPSET. IN DECEMBER 22,2011: TRANSMISSION GEARS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. I TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL MORGANTON,N.C. FORD DEALERSHIP...THEY TESTED THE PCM..IT PASSED.TESTED TCM PASSED ALL CONTROLS. THEN TRIED TO TELL ME...IT WAS ONLY A LOW-BATTERY PROBLEM...BUT HAD TO RE-SET THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER A THIRD TIME.THEN ON FEBRUARY 25,2012...FIESTA HATCH-BACK LOCK WOULD NOT LOCK TO STAY SHUT. I PROMPTLY TOOK VEHICLE TO MORGANTON,N.C. FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR IS STILL THERE TO BE REPAIRED AND A PART IS ON ORDER. TO FIX THIS LOCK. I WAS GIVEN A RENTAL VEHICLE. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! I HAVE TAKEN MY 2011 FORD FIESTA IN AT LEAST 6 TIMES TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS COMPLETELY SHOT AND EVERY TIME I GET IT BACK THEY STATE THAT "THEY ALL DO THAT", OR "ITS PERFECTLY FINE." THAT IS COMPLETE RUBBISH! ON THE FREEWAY MY CAR WILL SHIFT UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY TO THE POINT THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE WILL EXPLODE. THE CAR SHIFTS REALLY HARD AND I SMELL BURNING CLUTCH EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. THE MOST THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE IS REFLASHED THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER. (WHICH WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE FLASH) AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE SERVICE MANAGER EVEN TOLD ME TO GET LOST AND TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE HE WAS DONE WASTING HIS TIME ON THE CAR. *TR
THE REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS IN THE 2011 FORD FIESTA CREATE SEVERE BLIND SPOTS OUT FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. THESE BLIND SPOTS CAN ONLY BE MANAGED BY REMOVING OF BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINTS. THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD FOR PASSENGERS WHO DO NOT KNOW, OR REPLACE THE HEAD RESTRAINTS IN A REAR COLLISION. FORD HAS ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE IN THEIR 2012 MODELS, BY USING A HEAD RESTRAINT THAT FOLDS DOWN WHEN NOT IN USE BY A PASSENGER. FORD HAS FAILED TO INCLUDE THIS UPDATE TO THE 2011 YEAR LINEUP. I LIVE IN A MAJOR URBAN AREA AND HAVE SEEN MANY OF THESE CARS DRIVING AROUND WITH EITHER NO HEAD RESTRAINTS PRESENT, OR INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. FORD IS CHARGING $300+ PER HEADREST MECHANISM. THE PART NUMBER IS <611A08 I HUMBLY REQUEST THAT THE NHTSA PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. TEST DRIVE WAS GREAT. AT APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MISS GEAR SHIFTS AT SPEEDS BELOW 15 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT UP INTO 2ND AND UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFT BACK DOWN INTO 1ST, THE SAME WITH 2ND AND 3RD GEAR SHIFTS. I AM ALSO HEARING A METAL CHATTER/SCRAPPING SOUND BELOW THE CAR AT ALL SPEEDS. RECENTLY I HAD TO SUDDENLY BRAKE HARD AND WHEN I WENT BACK ON THE GAS THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE, IT SEEMED TO STILL BE IN 4TH GEAR AND DID NOT SHIFT DOWN OR SELECT THE PROPER GEAR. AT 1000 MILES I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I AM GOING BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND TIME AND WILL BE CONTACTING FORD IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT CORRECTED. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY 4 MONTHS AND CURRENTLY HAVE 1800 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE 100 MILES NEW. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL DURING UP SHIFTS, UNLESS HE PUT THE VEHICLE IN LOW GEAR AND SLAMMED ON THE ACCELERATOR. FREQUENTLY, THE TRANSMISSION, SEEMED TO PULSE IN AND OUT OF GEAR, AND GOING UP A HILL, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT STAY IN GEAR, IT WOULD TRY AND SHIFT DOWN ONLY TO SHIFT BACK UP ONCE HE LIGHTLY LET OFF THE GAS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE RUST WAS A COMMON ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDE NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE INCIDENTS I REPORT ARE CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION. THIS NEW DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM IS NOT SELECTING APPROPRIATELY THE RIGHT GEAR AND OFTEN CAUSE TO HAVE THE CAR MOVING ULTRA SLOWLY AT START. NOT TO MENTION THE HUGE METALLIC NOISES WHEN DOWNSHIFTING AT SLOW SPEED. *TR

MY 2011 FORD FIESTA HAS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHIFTS HARD AND IRRATICALLY SHIFTS AT LOWER SPEEDS. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES IN THE FIRST 5 MONTHS OF OWNING IT AND ALL THEY DID WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON THE SECOND VISIT. THE FIRST VISIT, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR TOMORROW AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR SINCE FEBRUARY. I HAVE DRIVEN IT HOPING THAT IT WOULD JUST WORK ITSELF OUT SINCE IT WAS NEW BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME. *KB
VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND MAKES SHIFTING NOISES WHEN DRIVING. FORD ISSUED EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT REQUIRES OWNERS TO BRING THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, WHICH I HAVE DONE MANY TIMES TO GET RID OF THE SHUDDERING PROBLEM. THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.
