The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the airbags sensor light illuminated, and the steering wheel was making abnormal clicking sounds while driving. The contact also stated that the driver’s side door could not be opened from inside as the door handle was broken. The dealer was made aware of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.
THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND THEN GOES OFF. THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN IN TRAFFIC ON THE STREET OR HIGHWAY AND JERKS WHEN TAKING OFF. IT DRAGS UPON TAKE OFF AND YOU CAN HEAR A RATTLING SOUND UNDER CARRIAGE
Car did not shift into second gear while making left turn in intersection multiple times. Jolted and shook while turning with oncoming traffic. I must now make sure there is at least 10 seconds worth of space before taking a left turn in order to feel safe. Took to mechanic and they stated it was TCM diagnosis and to talk to Ford. Spoke to them and they stated recall period was expired.
TROUBLE WITH DASH LIGHTS, SEAT HEATERS, TRACTION CONTROL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT ALL ON. FUSE BOX COMPLETELY CORRODED EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN CANADIAN RECALL OF FUSE BOXES ON 2011 FIESTAS, I AM IN U.S. $1200 INTO ATTEMPTING TO SOLVE PROBLEM, STILL WILL NEED TO REPLACE FUSE BOX COSTING HUNDREDS MORE.
MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE. IT STARTED LOOSING POWER. SO, I STOPPED AT A STORE. THE CAR TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION WAS TOO HOT TO TRY AGAIN IN 5 MINUTES. SO, I LOOKED UP MY VIN NUMBER, AND THEIR WAS A FIELD SERVICE ACTION. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT HAD EXPIRED. SO, IT WOULD BE $250 JUST TO HOOK IT UP TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR FOR $3000, AND DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPAIR. I DONT UNDERSTAND THAT IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, WHY FORD WONT REPAIR THEM IF IT IS THEIR MISTAKE.

THE CONTACT COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD IN FRONT OF HER AND SHE STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND TURNED ON HER HI-BEAMS. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND IT WAS FOR THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX. INSIDE THE JUNCTION BOX THERE WAS WATER, SAND AND SILT WHICH CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. HEALEY FORD LINCOLN (2528 ROUTE 17M, GOSHEN, NY 10924, (845) 291-1998) WAS CALLED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER HAD PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE FOR THE SAME FAILURE UNDER A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM HOWEVER, DECLINED TO OFFER THE FREE REPAIR A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

I HAVE HAD THE TCM ON THIS VEHICLE REPLACED TWICE AFTER TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON. IT CAME ON A THIRD TIME AND THE ISSUE STILL CAUSES TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION INDICATOR TO ILLUMINATE, HOWEVER THIS TIME IT IS MY DUAL CLUTCH. SAME SYMPTOMS IN THE VEHICLE EVERY TIME. WITH NO WARNING, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER, FAIL TO CHANGE GEARS, SHUTTER FORWARD AFTER STOPPING, COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. TWO DAYS AGO DRIVING UPHILL, MY VEHICLE, WITH NO WARNING AT ALL, STARTED GOING IN REVERSE, DOWN THE HILL. I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT WITH FORD THAT IS TAKING FOREVER TO SETTLE. I HAVE TRIED TO GET FORD TO REPLACE MY CLUTCH, BUT THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY LIKE THE TCM IS NOW, EVEN THOUGH IT CAUSES THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. I CAN PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED MYSELF, BUT IT CAN GO OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME AGAIN, WITH NO WARNING. FORD DOES NOT BELIEVE THESE ISSUES ARE SAFETY ISSUES. THEY ARE. THESE CARS DO THESE THINGS SUDDENLY. AS I AM REACHING OUT TO FORD ABOUT THIS, THEY DO HOWEVER INFORM ME THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON MY DOOR LATCHES. THEY CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT NOT THE TRANSMISSION? UNBELIEVABLE.

I WAS HEADING OUT IN REVERSE THE CAR FELT SLOW WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS IT TOOK A WHILE TO ACCELERATE. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP THE WHEEL FELT STIFF AND SHAKY. I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO TURN, BUT IT WOULDN'T GO. IT FELT LIKE THE GAS WAS SUFFOCATING IT WASN'T MOVING AND THE WHEEL FELT STIFF AND HARD TO TURN IT TOOK A AWHILE TO MOVE. I GOT SCARED AND DROVE BACK HOME. I TOOK IT TO FORD LEFT IT THERE TO GET CHECKED. I ASKED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE LIGHT HAD TURNED ON. I WAS TOLD THEY RESET THE MODULE AND THAT THEY SENT ME AN ESTIMATE TO MY EMAIL IF I WANTED TO DO THE REPAIRS THAT THEY RECOMMENDED. I ASKED IF IT WAS OK TO DRIVE THE CAR THEY SAID YES, THAT I WOULD FEEL IT SHUDDER, BUT THAT IT WAS OK TO GO. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT TO WORK, BUT IT STILL TAKES A WHILE WHEN I PRESS THE GAS.
THE TRANSMISSION HAD A RECALL THEY "FIXED" IT BUT IT'S STILL HAVING A LOT OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AND JUMPS OUT IN TRAFFIC AND AFFECTED THE MOTOR MOUNTS. ALSO THERE'S A RECALL ON THE DOOR HANDLES WHICH WAS NEVER FIXED.

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
ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF LAST YEAR I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING,SO I STOPPED DRIVING IT. THE FIELD SERVICE ACTION NUMBER IS 14M01 AND THE FSA TITTLE IS TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JANUARY 2018 FROM DICK GENTHE CHEVROLET AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT SAFELY SINCE THE MIDDLE OF 2019. UNTIL NOW,I TRIED TO GET THEM TO TAKE THE CAR BACK,AND THEY WOULD NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR, AND AT THE SAME TIME THE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN BRONX AND THEY TOLD I HAVE A CLUTCH PROBLEM, PLUS TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THEY DONT COVER THE RECALL, ACCORDING THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT BECAUSE THE DAMAGE IS INTERNAL. BUT THE RECALL FOR FORD FIESTA 2011 EXISTING BECAUSE OF TRANSPORTATION FAIL. CAN YOU TELL ME FOR SURE WHY THEY DON'T APPROVE AND IF IS A COMPANY MISTAKE THEY SHOULD BUY YOUR CAR OR TO REPLACE IT?
In 2019 the Ford Fiesta refused to crank, key in the ignition the cars dash would light up, but the only sound produced was a small tick. After several unsuccessful visits to the mechanic, we finally took it to the Ford dealership and it was discovered that the TCM needed to be reprogrammed or replaced, after getting it replaced, for no charge, we no longer experienced the cranking issue. Apparently, the Ford dealership was aware of the recall but this information was left out upon purchase from CarMax. This information was not listed on this site either. I'm reporting this issue so that the next owner of the vehicle won't be surprised and devastated like we were.

CAR STALLS WHEN DRIVING DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX. ISSUES HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC, ALMOST WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AT A LIGHT WHEN THE CAR STALLED. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD FALL UNDER CUSTOMER PROGRAM 17B16, STATING: REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, AN OPENING BETWEEN THE BJB AND ITS COVER COULD ALLOW WATER AND DEBRIS CONTAINING ROAD DE-ICING SALTS TO ENTER INTO THE BJB. THIS COULD RESULT IN CORROSION INSIDE THE BJB FOR VEHICLES OPERATED EXTENSIVELY IN US CORROSION STATES. CORROSION IN THE BJB MAY CAUSE A VARIETY OF SYMPTOMS INCLUDING LOSS OF FUNCTION OF EXTERIOR LIGHTS, VEHICLE STALL, VEHICLE NO START, OR LOSS OF FUNCTION OF INTERIOR LIGHTS. I CALLED AND WAS GIVEN CASE NUMBER CAS-27331475 AND THEY TOLD ME MY VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT IS. PLEASE HELP MAKE THIS RIGHT.
FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE WITH TCM / SUSPECTED TO BE RELATED TO RECALL ON FUSE BOX. ELECTRICAL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FUSE BOX AND TCM ISN'T WORKING. *TR
RECENTLY MY DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT AS WELL AS MY TAIL LIGHTS. UPON CHECKING THE FUSE BOX LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD, I FOUND IT FILLED WITH SAND AND OTHER FOREIGN MATERIALS. FURTHERMORE, ALL OF THE FUSES WERE CORRODED AND WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE THEM, THEY BROKE, THUS I WAS UNABLE TO REPLACE THEM. IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THIS EQUIPMENT AS THE BOX DOES NOT PROPERLY SEAL EVEN THOUGH IT IS EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. AFTER RESEARCHING FURTHER, I DISCOVERED THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG 2011 FORD FIESTA OWNERS AND THAT THE REPAIR FOR THIS IS VERY COSTLY. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT STAY SHUT. THERE IS A DOOR LATCH RECALL ON MANY 2011 FIESTA'S BUT THIS CAR IS NOT LISTED AS AN AFFECTED VIN. THE TWO REAR DOORS WERE REPAIRED AROUND THE END OF 2018 FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD JUST SAYS THAT IT IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. MY CAR TRANSMISSION DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY, THE INFO SCREEN DISPLAYS TRANSMISSION TROUBLES ,I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR ON DRIVE AND GOES TO 10 MPH AND DOESN'T CHANGE GEARS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,396.
BECOMING ILL PHYSICALLY WHILE DRIVING FROM 'SOMETHING EITHER INSIDE THE PASSENGER SECTION OF THE CAR, OR COMING FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM? HAD THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CHECKED 2X, WAS TOLD BY BOTH MUFFLER SHOP AND DEALER TECH THAT NOTHING WAS SEEN WRONG DURING THEIR CHECKS. HAD CO BLOOD TESTING DONE AT THE ED, NONE DETECTED. DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE IS WRONG-CAR PASSED OBD EMISSIONS, VIA OBD PORT, HOWEVER- THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE STARTED THE SAME DAY OF THIS TESTING. NO TAILPIPE OR UNDER THE HOOD PARTS TOUCHED. SO FAR, DEBATING DISPOSAL OF THIS CAR, IF AFTER ANOTHER CHECK BY MECHANIC YIELDS NO EXPLANATORY DIAGNOSIS.

I HIT/RAN OVER A POTHOLE EARLIER THIS MONTH AND EXPERIENCED SEVERAL OCCURANCES OF EXCESSIVE BRAKE TRAVEL OR SOFT BRAKES IMMEDIATELY AFTER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE CAR, ON A CITY STREET. I OBSERVED THE SAME THING HAPPENING AGAIN, THE NEXT WK. BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPT.. THIS TIME, IT WAS THOUGHT BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR, THAT THE TIRES NEEDED REPLACEMENT. 3 NEW TIRES WERE PURCHASED , I HAD PURCHASED A. WEEK BEFORE, SO I KEPT THAT ONE, HAVING THE MECHANIC PLACE THIS NEW ONE ON THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL. I THOUGHT THAT AFTER BRINGING MY CAR IN 2X FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE SOFT BRAKE CONDITION WAS RESOLVED. I WAS HERE LAST MONDAY, 12-23-19, FOR DIAGNOSIS FOR THE 3RD TIME OF THE SOFT BRAKE SITUATION EARLY THIS MONTH, THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. SPECIFICALLY, THE SELENOID VALVE BLOCK HCU CONNECTED WITH ABS. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW I HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO JOE COTTON FORD IN CAROL STREAM, IL THERE WAS NO REMEDY BESIDES REMOVING THE CABLES FROM THE BATTERY TO RESET THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER. ON SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR CO. TO ADVISE THAT THEY NEED TO DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE DUE TO A TCM CIRCUIT FAILURE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FRIENDLY FORD 333 E IRVING PARK, ROSELLE, IL, ON MONDAY NOVEMBER 11, 2019, SO THEY CAN RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. PRIOR TO TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP I REMOVED THE BATTERY CABLES. APPARENTLY THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO INSTALL THE NEW SOFTWARE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ADVISED ME THAT THE CARD CODE READER WAS NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ERROR MESSAGE AND THEY HAD TO CHARGE ME. MY VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEY LOANED ME A CAR WHILE IT WAS IN SERVICE. I WAS CHARGED $199.00 FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM AND SINCE THEY COULD NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE I HAD TO PAY THE BILL. I CALLED FORD MOTOR CO. FOR ASSISTANCE AND THE AGENT TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS LITTLE THEY CAN DO SINCE THE DEALERSHIP IS A FRANCHISE. THIS IS UNJUST THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR SOMETHING I WAS ADVISED THAT WOULD BE FREE OF CHARGE. I HOPE TO BE REIMBURSED.
THE VEHICLE DOES NOT DOWNSHIFT. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC BUT I HAVE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL BETWEEN GEARS AS WELL AS WHEN I NEED TO SLOW DOWN. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES OF A CAR IN FRONT OF ME BRAKING UNEXPECTEDLY AND I MUST PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND IT CONTINUES REVVING AT A HIGH SPEED SO I THROW IT IN NEUTRAL. I COULD RUN INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME UNLESS I SLAM VERY HARD ON THE BRAKE OR PUT INTO NEUTRAL. THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR AUTOMATICALLY EITHER. ALSO, I MUST PUMP THE BRAKE FOR A MINUTE OR TWO BEFORE THE CAR WILL START.
NO MATTER WHETHER FROM DEAD STOP OR TRYING TO OPEN IT UP ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE STILL HESITATES. YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL IF YOU ARE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND/OR AN ON RAMP.
THE REAR LEFT DOOR LATCH BROKE. I SIMPLY OPENED AND CLOSED THE DOOR. THE LATCH MUST'VE BROKEN WHEN I CLOSED IT BECAUSE THE DOOR CAME LOOSE ON MY DRIVE HOME. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED, BUT IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN AS THE DOOR COULD'VE HIT AN ONCOMING CAR SINCE I COULDN'T IMMEDIATELY REACH/SECURE THE DOOR. THE DOOR WILL CLOSE FLUSH WITH THE CAR, BUT JUST WON'T LATCH. NEITHER HANDLE SEEMS TO HAVE ANY INFLUENCE ON THE CAR LATCH EITHER. THIS ISSUE SOUNDS LIKE THE 15S16 SAFETY RECALL, BUT IS REPORTEDLY NOT APPLICABLE TO MY CAR. I AM PAYING TO GET THE ONE DOOR FIXED, BUT AM WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER DOORS DOING THE SAME THING.

I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR ON 9/14/2019. LOW BEAM DRIVERS FRONT LIGHT DOESN'T WORK. SO WE THOUGHT A FUSE OR BULB. NOT THAT. IT IS SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. THE CAR DOES NOT START NOW. THIS VEHICLE IS GIVING ME A DELAY OF ABOUT 10 SECONDS OR MORE BEFORE TO START. TO START THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE TO PUT THE IGNITION ON ON POSITION, THEN WAIT UNTIL I HEAR A NOISE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BEFORE I TURN THE IGNITION KEY OVER TO START THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALER MC MAHON FORD IN NORWALK CT AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THE SYMPTOMS FOR THE CAR, THEY TOLD ME THAT THESE FORD FIESTA AND FUSION ARE KNOWN TO HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES.
