CLOSED REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND THE DOOR BOUNCED BACK AND WOULD NOT LATCH. HAD TO SECURE DOOR WITH ROPE. TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC FOR REPAIR. MECHANIC ORDERED PART AND REPAIRED DOOR. ONE WEEK LATER I OPENED AND CLOSED THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND IT BOUNCED BACK AND WOULD NOT LATCH. I HAD TO SECURE DOOR WITH A BUNGEE CORD. TOOK CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP. SAID THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY KIND OF TIME FRAME ON WHEN THE PART WOULD ARRIVE BUT HE MADE IT SOUND LIKE IT WOULD BE A LONG TIME. SINCE THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON. MY BATTERY WENT DEAD WHILE OUT. I WAS STRANDED WITH A DOOR I COULD NOT SECURE. I WAS ABLE TO CALL AAA TO BOOST AND DRIVE HOME. NOW IT IS DEAD AGAIN. I HAVE NO CAR AND NO IDEA WHEN AND IF IT CAN BE REPAIRED. COST TO REPAIR $450 PER DOOR! I AM LUCKY IT HAPPENED WHILE PARKED. A PASSENGER OR DOG COULD VERY EASILY FALL OUT OF THE CAR IF THE DOOR FAILS WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! *TR
RIGHT REAR SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN. DOOR WAS THEN SHUT AND WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. PASSENGER HAD TO HOLD SHUT ON WAY TO DEALERSHIP. PART WAS THEN REPLACED BUT PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET. (R/R DOOR LATCH. ESTIMATION OF REPAIRS WAS $195.01). *TR
I WAS 20 MILES AWAY FROM HOME OUT SHOPPING WITH MY TWO SONS. WE GOT INTO THE CAR AND THE DOOR OPEN LIGHT WAS ON. I HAD ONE SON CHECK TO MAKE SURE HIS DOOR WAS CLOSED BUT WHEN HE TRIED TO RE-SHUT IT, THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY AND LOCK. I STARTED TO WORRY AS I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND DOUBLE CHECKED IT MYSELF. THE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT AND STAY CLOSED AND WE WERE 20 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD HAVE MY 12 YEAR OLD SON HOLD THE DOOR SHUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. LUCKILY, AFTER MAKING A FEW CALLS - THE SUGGESTION WAS MADE TO BUY A COUPLE OF BUNGEE CORDS TO TIE AROUND THE DOOR AND SEAT TO HOLD THE DOOR IN PLACE. I HAD TO DRIVE VERY SLOWLY IN FEAR THAT THE DOOR WAS GOING TO SWING OPEN WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. THANKFULLY WE MADE IT SAFE. UNFORTUNATELY WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THAT ISSUE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
THE DOOR NEXT TO THE BACK RIGHT PASSENGER SEAT WILL NOT LATCH. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY SHUT. *TR
MY MOTHER (83 YO) WAS RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND AS SHE WAS GETTING OUT OF THE CAR SHE CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT BOUNCED BACK AND HIT HER ON HER LEFT HIP. WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT THE DOOR LATCH BROKE BECAUSE THE PART THAT LATCHES IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND WE HAVE BEEN HAVING SOME HOT WEATHER THESE DAYS. I GUESS THE PLASTIC MUST HAVE GOT TOO HOT ONE TOO MANY TIMES AND IT GAVE OUT AND BENT OR BROKE. AS SHE CLOSED THE DOOR WITH HER LEFT HAND SHE PROCEEDED TO WALK TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THIS IS WHEN THE DOOR HIT HER AND/OR GOT IN THE WAY AS SHE STARTED TO WALK TO THE FRONT OF CAR. MY MOTHER WAS IN PAIN FOR ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS OR SO. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A WORSE ACCIDENT IF MY MOTHER HAD BEEN A YOUNGER PERSON AND MOVING MUCH FASTER. ANYWAY, THESE DOOR LATCHES SHOULD BE MADE OF STEEL SO THEY DON'T BREAK SO EASILY. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT BECAUSE THESE LATCHES SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS IS THE SECOND LATCH THAT HAS BROKEN IN MY CAR. THESE LATCHES ARE GETTING BRITTLE WITH AGE AND UNFORTUNATELY MY CAR IS A DARK COLORED ONE, WHICH AS YOU MAY WELL KNOW, IT ATTRACTS A LOT OF HEAT FROM THE SUN. FURTHERMORE, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THIS COULD BE ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE CAR, IF THE LATCH IS BRITTLE ENOUGH, A GOOD HARD PULL CAN BREAK IT AND WHAT IF THE DRIVER IS STILL IN THE CAR AND THE PERSON BREAKING IN WANTS TO HARM OR ROB HER/HIM. STOP PUTTING PLASTIC LATCHES IN CARS DOORS. FORD IS MAKING A MINT SELLING THESE LATCHES FOR $183.00 DOLLARS EACH AND THIS IS NOT TO MENTION THE INSTALLATION.
FORD FIESTA 2012 STILL UNDER WARRANTY; THIS IS THE SECOND DOOR IN THIS NEW CAR WHERE THE DOOR LATCH JUST STOPS WORKING. STAYS AJAR. THE FIRST TIME TOOK 1 WEEK TO GET PART; THIS TIME DEALER IS SAYING THE PART WILL TAKE A MONTH. THEY SAID THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS AND HE HAS A COUPLE OF CUSTOMERS WHO'S CARS HAVE BEEN THERE A COUPLE OF WEEKS ALREADY, BUT PARTS WON'T COME UNTIL END OF AUGUST! I DON'T HAVE RENTAL INSURANCE, WE ONLY HAVE ONE VEHICLE, NO BUS LINE TO WORK - I CAN NOT BE WITHOUT MY CAR FOR A MONTH OR MORE. SO GRATEFUL WE WERE NOT ON THE FREEWAY OR TRAVELING ANY FASTER (THIS WAS ON MY PASSENGERS SIDE). CHEAPLY MADE DOOR PARTS - WE THINK BECAUSE THE DOOR IS CLOSED, LOCKED IT CAN'T FLY OPEN WE BETTER THINK AGAIN. *TR
MY DAUGHTER OPENED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE 2012 FORD FIESTA AND CLOSED IT AND IT DID NOT CLOSE, IT BOUNCED BACK. WE SPENT HOURS LOOKING ON THE INTERNET AND YOUTUBE TRYING TO FIND AWAY OF CLOSING THE DOOR. AFTER 4 HOURS IN THE SUN TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR WE WERE ABLE TO SHUT IT BY PRESSING THE LOCK BUTTON NUMEROUS TIMES. A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE DOOR OPENED AND ALMOST TOOK OFF THE DOOR. ANOTHER TIME I WAS DRIVING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS ACCIDENTALLY OPENED THE DOOR. IT TOOK US 2 HOURS OF LOCKING AND SHUTTING, EVENTUALLY WE WERE ABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS HAS CAUSED A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY YOUR CHILDREN AND ANYONE THAT SITS IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS IS SOME SORT OF FACTORY DEFECT. EVEN IF THE DOOR SHUTS I CAN NEVER TELL WHEN IT WILL OPEN AGAIN AND CHUCK A PASSENGER OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AND POTENTIALLY KILL SOMEONE. *TR
RESERVOIR BOTTLE NEEDS TOPPING OFF EVERY 5000 MILES SEEMS TO BE A LEAK SOME WHERE. *TR
VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR NOISE IN FRONT OF THE CAR AND TRANSMISSION JERKING WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS ,CHANGING LANES ON A HIGHWAYS TAKING TURNS AND GOING UP AND DOWN HILLS. THE CLUTCH SYSTEM IS CAUSING SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND EVERY TIME I SLOW DOWN OR BRAKE THE RATTLING NOISE UPFRONT GETS LOUDER, I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF CHANGING LANES WHEN THE CAR JERKED GEARS DID NOT SHIFT AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAVE BEEN GETTING A RUN AROUND ABOUT GETTING IT FIX.THE CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COULD CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION'S ELECTRONIC CONTROLS TO SHUT DOWN OR NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO START AT ALL, AS I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICER I LOOKED IT UP AND OTHER CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I NEED ASSISTANCE AS I DID MY RESEARCH FOUND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF FORD FIESTA THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR LATCH WILL NOT KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED. *TR
TRANSMISSION STARTED VIBRATING AND CAUSING THE CAR TO JUMP AND SHUTTER. AND WEAR MY TIRES DOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WAS AJAR AND FAILED TO LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE AND THE PASSENGER HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT. THE PROBLEM RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
THE VEHICLE HAD AN ABNORMAL IDLE WHILE AT A STOP, AND WOULD SOMETIMES STALL. UPON ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND JERK FORWARD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE MECHANIC CLEARED THE CODE FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BUT THE INTERNAL WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, ON A CAR THAT WAS A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS OLD. THE INTERNAL WIRING HARNESS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY. THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT A COST TO ME OF $245.99. LESS THAN 2 MONTHS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, ABNORMAL IDLE, STALLING, AND HESITANT AND JERKY ACCELERATING. AGAIN, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH FRONT SEALS, INPUT SEALS, AND AXLES SEALS, CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID, ADDED 2 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE FORD 5 YEAR, 60,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. ABOUT 5 WEEKS LATER I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, ABNORMAL IDLE, HESITANT AND JERKY ACCELERATION. AGAIN, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WITH NO CHOICE, I NEED TO GET TO WORK, I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD WITH THE REPAIR WHICH ONCE AGAIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY. THE TOTAL FOR THIS REPAIR COST ME $720.26. IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS I HAVE HAD TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MAJOR REPAIRS 3 TIMES AND SPENT JUST UNDER $1,000, PLUS THE INCONVENIENCE OF RENTAL CARS, DAYS OFF OF WORK, AND THE GENERAL ANNOYANCE OF KNOWING MY NEW VEHICLE HAS MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUES. *TR
FIESTA DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY. SHUDDERS AT STOP LIGHTS AND HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC AND CAR MAY OR MAY NOT GO. HAVE HAD AT SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS. FORD HAS PROVIDED SOFTWARE UPDATES AND REPLACE CLUTCH SEVERAL TIMES. LAST OIL CHANGE, I ASKED FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE BECAUSE IT STILL SHUDDERS AND HESITATES. TOLD OUT OF WARRANTY. IT WOULD COST ME 150 TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY. CANT AFFORD THIS. LOST WORK DUE TO SERVICE REPAIRS. NOT SAFE TO DEPEND ON.
I OPENED AND SHUT MY PASSENGER DOOR AND INSTEAD OF CLOSING, THE DOOR JUST BOUNCED BACK AND COULD NOT BE SHUT. THIS IS THE 2ND DOOR ON THIS CAR TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR DID THE SAME THING ABOUT TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. *TR
FEMALE DRIVER, APPROX 5'7", 130 LBS, DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROX. 65 MPH FELT A SUDDEN JOLT IN THE SEAT BACK STARTLING BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. AFTER THERE WAS NO LOWER BACK SUPPORT FELT. DEALER REPLACED P/N CE8Z5461019A (BACK ASSY, SEAT). THIS HAS NOW OCCURRED WITH THE SAME DRIVER AND STARTLING HER AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT MILEAGE 26,800 ON 1/25/2015. VEHICLE HAS YET TO BE TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO BE CONTACTED AS WELL. THE CONCERN IS THE STARTLING ASPECT TO THE DRIVER WHILE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO LOOSE FOCUS ON DRIVING SAFELY TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT JUST OCCURRED. *TR
MY KIDS GOT OUT OF THE CAR AT A STORE. WHEN THEY WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND THEM, IT JUST FLEW OPEN AND WOULD NOT LATCH. STILL WILL NOT LATCH BECAUSE IT COST $685.00 TO REPAIR. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY FORD. I WILL NOT STOP COMPLAINING! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENED AND THE LATCH DETACHED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH DETACHED PREVIOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOCKING MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THIS CAR IS UNDER RECALL 15V-246 THE BACK DRIVER LATCH FAILED 7/2/14. THE BACK PASSENGER LATCH FAILED 9/3/14. THE FRONT PASSENGER LATCH FAILED 7/15. INCIDENTS 1 AND 2 WERE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. INCIDENT 3 IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER WITH THE PART BEING ORDERED. WE ASKED THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE FOURTH LATCH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR, BUT THEY SAID FORD MOTOR WILL ALLOW THEM TO ONLY REPAIR THE BROKEN LATCHES SINCE PARTS ARE SCARCE. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE LATCH PROBLEM AND FEEL THE FOURTH LATCH SHOULD AND COULD BE REPAIRED AT THIS TIME SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO RETURN YET AGAIN, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS UNDER RECALL. FRONT SIDE PASSENGER'S DOOR LATCH WILL NOT WORK AND THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE OR LOCK, SO CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR. WENT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS VERY COMMON, IN FACT SO COMMON THAT THEY ARE BACK ORDERED AT LEAST A MONTH OR LONGER. I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR I BOUGHT JUST 3 MONTHS AGO. IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE DOOR LATCHES, THEN WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT HAPPENS TO FIESTA'S ALL THE TIME WITH BRAND NEW ONES TOO. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND IS VERY DANGEROUS AND AGAINST THE LAW TO DRIVE WITH A DOOR NOT PROPERLY LATCHED. I AM FORCED TO PAY ALMOST $200 FOR THE PART AND ABOUT THAT MUCH TO INSTALL IT, SO ABOUT $400 OVERALL FOR A DEFECTIVE PART AND WAS TOLD IT WILL HAPPEN TO THE OTHER DOOR SOMETIME TOO. WHY ISN'T THIS IN RECALL??? *TR
THE PROBLEM, OR I SHOULD SAY 'THE JAM' AS IN DOOR JAMB, IS THAT BOTH SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOORS ON MY 2012 FORD FIESTA ARE NOT WORKING ON THE CLOSE. THE DOORS WON'T STAY CLOSED OR STAY SHUT. WHEN YOU TRY SHUTTING EITHER DOOR IT JUST BOUNCES BACK OUT A LITTLE. NEITHER DOOR WILL LATCH CLOSED. ONLY 35,772 MILES ON MY 2012 FIESTA WHEN BOTH REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCHES FAILED WITHIN 12 HOURS OF EACH OTHER. IS BOTH DOORS FAILING AT THE SAME TIME JUST A COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT. I THINK DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS! MY FIESTA HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, NO BODY DAMAGE, NO EVIDENCE OF ATTEMPTED BREAK-INS AND NO APPARENT REASON TO CAUSE 1, LET ALONE BOTH, REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCHES TO MALFUNCTION AND PREVENT CLOSING OF THE REAR SIDE DOORS. AND, ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING OR INDICATION OF ANY LOOMING OR PENDING PROBLEM WITH THE OPERATION OF EITHER DOOR NOR MY FINGERS, HANDS, WRISTS OR ARMS? ALTHOUGH I DO GET A BOUT-OF-GOUT IN MY KNEE OCCASIONALLY. I JUST OPENED EACH DOOR NORMALLY TO FIND IT BROKEN UPON SHUTTING. WHAT I FIND EXTREMELY STRANGE, AND AT THIS TIME STILL UNEXPLAINED BY ANYONE, IS THAT BOTH DOORS FAILED WITHIN 12 HOURS OF EACH OTHER IN EXACTLY THE SAME MANOR. PARKED THE CAR AT NIGHT WITH ALL DOORS CLOSED AND LOCKED. WENT OUT TO THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOOKED AJAR BUT WAS ACTUALLY UNLOCKED AND THE LATCH NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. I INITIALLY THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE HAD BROKEN IN BUT UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE PLASTIC DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT LOCK ANYMORE. I USED SOME ROPE TO TIE THE INTERIOR PULL HANDLE TO THE OTHER DOORS TO KEEP THEM CLOSED, DROVE TO A DEALER, AND HAD THE LATCH REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD JUST COMPLETED A 2,000+ MILE ROADTRIP DAYS EARLIER AND AM LUCKY THIS HAPPENED IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY HOME WITH THE CAR PARKED. *TR
JUNE 22ND 2014 , MY SON'S FRIEND WAS GETTING OUT OF THE CAR AND CLOSED THE REAR PASSENGER'S DOOR AND IT WOULD NO LONGER LATCH. I HAD TO RATCHET THE 2 REAR DOORS TOGETHER TO HOLD IT SHUT. REPAIR COST WAS $300.00. I STILL HAD THE RATCHET IN THE CAR FROM THE FIRST FAILED DOOR LATCH, SO HE RODE IN THE BACK WHILE I HELD THE DOOR SHUT RATCHETED TOGETHER TO THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR. I HAVE TO GET TOGETHER THE $300.00 TO REPLACE THIS FAILED LATCH. MY QUESTION IS THAT IF THE ORIGINAL PARTS FOR THE DOORS FAILED, WILL THE REPLACEMENTS DO THE SAME THING? THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

SPOKE TO FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER NUMEROUS TIMES. THEY CLAIMED THE SIX-SPEED TRANSMISSION PROVIDES "AN UNUSUAL DRIVING EXPERIENCE." I EXPLAINED I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. I REQUESTED AN ADDRESS FOR SENDING A COMPLAINT LETTER AND THE WOMAN SEEMED TO DISCOURAGE THAT, STATING THAT THE DOCUMENTATION FROM MY PHONE CALL WOULD BE SENT UP THE CHAIN OF COMMAND IN FORD AND TO THE HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION.
