I AM BRINGING THIS CAR IN FOR THE FIFTH TIME NOW FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. MAIN PROBLEM IS SHUDDERING, JOLTING, AND HESITATING. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT ON FEBRUARY 3RD FROM THE CAR HESITATING WHEN PLACING FOOT ON GAS PEDAL. I HAVE TO REPLACE CLUTCH FOR SECOND TIME, AND I ONLY HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS. ....UPDATED 04/08/15 *BF *TR
I WENT TO CLOSE THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND THE LATCH WOULDN'T CATCH ALL OF A SUDDEN. WITH NO PRIOR INCIDENTS OR INDICATION OF AN ISSUE, THE LATCH JUST BROKE - WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF THESE TYPES OF ISSUES HAPPEN BECAUSE OF FAULTY DEFECTIVE LATCHES FROM THE MANUFACTURER. 3 MONTHS LATER AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH DOES THE SAME EXACT THING. AND I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ONE NOTICE ON THIS DEFECTIVE LATCH, BEFORE OR AFTER MY INCIDENT. I WOULD THINK SAFETY WOULD BE A MAJOR CONCERN FOR FORD - WHO WOULD WANT THEIR DOORS NOT BEING ABLE TO SHUT?? SINCE THEY ACKNOWLEDGED OTHER CARS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, I DON'T BELIEVE I JUST RECEIVED A LEMON, BUT I SURE WON'T BE BUYING FORD AGAIN! *TR
REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILS TO STAY CLOSED. DOOR LATCH FAILS TO KEEP DOOR SHUT. *TR
07I HAVE HAD MANY INSTANCES OF HESITATION, SURGES, BUCKS, JERKS ON ACCELERATION. GOT ERROR MESSAGE "GETTING HOT, PULL OVER AND SHUT CAR OFF". ON LONG TRIP TRANSMISSION OVERTEMP LIGHT CAME ON, WHEN DRIVING AT 40-50 MPH IT WOULD GO OUT OF GEAR AN SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 20 MPH THEN IT WOULD GO BACK INTO GEAR AND SPEED UP AGAIN. CLUTCH ADAPTIVE NEEDED TO PERFORM A RELEARN. SHIFTS ROUGH OR JERKY WHILE DRIVING, SHUDDERING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.
LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN FLEMING ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2013 FORD FIESTA COMPLAINTS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE PULLED OFF FROM A STOP, OR MADE TURNS, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK, AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE COMMAND BUTTON ON THE STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN UPDATE. THE COMMAND BUTTON ONLY WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND THE JERKING HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED ONCE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE NEEDED ANOTHER UPDATE AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW CLUTCH. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AS NORMAL FOR ONE DAY. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A NEW ISSUE, WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD SQUEAL, WHEN IT WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, OR WHEN SHE MADE TURNS. THE COMMAND BUTTON STOPPED WORKING AGAIN, AND SHE WAS INFORMED A PIN WAS BENT AND WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE ROTOR, WHICH CAUSED THE SQUEALING NOISE. *JB
ON THE VEHICLE THERE IS A FLAW IN LOCK OUT SAFETY SYSTEM. WHEN KEY IS IN IGNITION AND CAR RUNNING IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOCK YOUR SELF OUT. HERE'S HOW. WITH KEY IN IGNITION AND DRIVER DOOR OPEN. ENGAGE THE LOCK BUTTON FROM KEY FOB. STEP OUT SIDE VEHICLE AND CLOSE DOOR. YOU OUR NOW LOCKED OUT OF YOUR RUNNING VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPEN TWICE. I ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE LOCK BUTTON WHILE TRYING TO ENGAGE THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON FROM KEY FOB. NOTE. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN TRUNK IS FROM KEY FOB AS WELL AS ENGAGING BUTTON LOCATED OUTSIDE AS LONG AS ALL DOORS ARE UNLOCKED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF YOUR VEHICLE IS IN WEATHER THAT COULD BE HARMFUL TO SMALL CHILDREN OR ANIMALS. *TR
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER DRIVING 10 MILES OR SO THERE IS A CRUNCH NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING. I HAVE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THERE ISN'T A PART AVAILABLE FOR THE PROBLEM. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE PAST 13 MONTHS.
AFTER I HAD THIS CAR ABOUT 16 MONTHS AND AROUND 12000 MILES, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO ACT UP. IT WOULD JERK THE CAR AND THEN IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION. IT RAN OK FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO AND DRIVING ONE DAY IT FELT LIKE THE WHOLE BOTTOM DROPPED OUTTA THE CAR AND I COULDN'T GO. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER 2 MORE TIMES IN A 5 MONTH SPAN AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO BC ALL THE TESTS COME BACK WITHIN FORD SPECS. I FEEL LIKE I'LL GET KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IF I TRY AND CHANGE LANES I CANT ACCELERATE TO KEEP UP WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. IN THE CITY IT JERKS ALL AROUND. IT SEEMS TO WORK BEST UNDER 25 MPH AS LONG AS I DON'T HIT THE GAS OR BRAKES. IT TAKES ALOT TO GET IT UP TO 65 MPH AND AS SOON AS YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS IT DROPS TO 45 IN SECONDS AND THEN ITS HARD TO GET GOING AGAIN. FOR A BRAND NEW CAR ITS RIDICULOUS, I'M JUST HAPPY I CAN HAND THE KEYS IN ANOTHER FEW MONTHS, IF IT DOESN'T KILL ME FIRST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WAS SHUDDERING AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 10 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE ACCELERATION FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS WORKED ON IT TWICE WITHOUT REPAIRING IT. IT IS IN FOR A THIRD TIME AND THE PLAN IS TO REPLACE THE SAME PART THEY REPLACED LAST TIME. THE PROBLEM BEGAN AT 10,000 MILES AND REOCCURS EVERY 10,000 MILES. THOUGH THE CAR REMAINS UNDER WARRANTY, THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATIONS THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY FORD IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOME ONE GETS KILLED.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY FORD FIESTA STARTED TO NOT SHIFT UP OR DOWN AND SEEMED A BIT STUCK. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE. ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE CAR STARTED TO HAVING TROUBLE WITH GEAR SHIFTING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS AND ALSO SEEMS TO SLIP WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT. CAR HAS REPEATEDLY COME CLOSE TO STALLING AND HAS LOST ALMOST ALL POWER AT VARIOUS TIMES. THE CAR DEALER NOW SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH AND IT WILL TAKE 16 WEEKS FOR IT TO ARRIVE. UNTIL THEN I AM NOT TO DRIVE IT LONG DISTANCES. VERY DANGEROUS CAR, I AM AFRAID I WILL BE HIT TRYING TO TURN BECAUSE THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER AT THE WRONG TIME.
I HAD JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR FOUR DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION (STOP LIGHT). IT SEEMED AS THOUGH MY CAR *SKIPPED* AND *JERKED* A LITTLE IN ORDER TO GAIN MOMENTUM. THEN, WHEN I TURNED A CORNER, I HEARD A SLIGHT RATTLING/GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD, ESPECIALLY ON THE LEFT SIDE. I CALLED THE DEALER'S ([XXX] IN ALEXANDRIA, KY) SERVICE DEPT TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY'RE SO BACKED UP, THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT IS ON 2/18/15. THE LADY I SPOKE TO MENTIONED THAT MY CAR IS PART OF A RECALL, AND THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SHE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER BEING UNABLE TO BUILD THE PARTS FAST ENOUGH. I'VE NOW HAD THE CAR TEN DAYS. ON THE EIGHTH DAY, THE *SERVICE ENGINE* LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS NOT TURNED OFF. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE DEALER HAS GIVEN ME AN APPOINTMENT ON 12/10/15 TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. ONE OF THE SALESMEN THAT I INTERACTED WITH ON THE EVENING OF THE SALE, SAID IT'S PROBABLY RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE OR LOCK. *JS

REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS WORKING FINE THEN THE NIGHT BEFORE THANKSGIVING I OPENED THE DOOR TO RETRIEVE SOMETHING FROM THE BACK OF MY CAR AND WHEN I TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR THE LATCH WOULD NOT ENGAGE AND THE DOOR REMAINED OPEN. THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE IN THIS STATE BECAUSE THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED. *TR
THE FRONT DOORS TO MY 2013 FORD FIESTA WOULD NOT LATCH PROPERLY AFTER UNLOCKING, GETTING INTO MY CAR AND TRYING TO CLOSE THEM. THE LATCH WOULD NOT CLOSE, THEREFORE LEAVING MY DOORS UNABLE TO CLOSE AND MAKING THE CAR NON-DRIVABLE. TO BE FIXED, THE ENTIRE LOCKING MECHANISM NEEDED CHANGED COSTING $785 DOLLARS TO REPAIR. RECENTLY THIS PAST WEEK, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WHILE I WAS GETTING READY TO TURN ONTO THE INTERSTATE TO GO TO WORK. THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN, MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO OPERATE ON THE ROAD, AND I TURNED AROUND TO GO BACK HOME TO SWITCH TO MY WIFE'S CAR. AGAIN, THE WHOLE MECHANISM NEEDED CHANGED TO REPAIR TO THE COST OF $345 DOLLARS. A CAR THAT IS 2 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 50K SHOULD NOT HAVE BIG AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUES SUCH AS THIS. HOPEFULLY FORD WILL DO THE RIGHT THING A DO A RECALL FOR THIS MODEL. *TR

I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR TWO YEARS. I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CAR "SHUTTERING" ISSUE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE GETTING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND HANDED ME A FLYER FROM A STACK THAT THEY HAD READILY AVAILABLE AT THEIR DESK WHICH MENTIONS WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING IS NORMAL AND WILL GO AWAY WITH TIME. EARLIER THIS YEAR I BROUGHT THE CAR IN WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE PARTS IN THE GEARS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. YESTERDAY, I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING TO TURN LEFT. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEN THE CAR STARTED TO MAJORLY SHUTTER. IT CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN TIME THAT IT WOULD NORMALLY TAKE TO MAKE THE TURN WHILE I WAS IN MID TURN AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION WITH APPROACHING TRAFFIC. A FEW WEEKS AGO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING MY CAR IN TODAY. WHEN I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS "SHUTTERING" ISSUE AND HAD MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS. I ASKED THEM MANY QUESTIONS....SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WERE: WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION IN THE FIRST YEAR WHY DID YOU IGNORE MY COMPLAINT AND HAND ME A FLYER TELLING ME THIS IS NORMAL? WHEN MY HUSBAND BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE A FEW WEEKS AGO WHY DIDN'T YOU INFORM HIM THAT THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE ON THE TRANSMISSION THAT EXTENDS THE SERVICE WARRANTY AND THAT THERE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE? SHE EXPLAINED THAT FORD WAS TO BLAME AND NOT THE DEALERSHIP. SHE SAID THAT FORD WAS GIVING THEM MISINFORMATION AND TOLD THEM ALL ALONG THAT THIS WAS NORMAL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND SO THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE TELLING THEIR CUSTOMERS. I URGE YOU TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
WE BOUGHT THE 2013 FORD FIESTA BRAND NEW. THE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH EXCESSIVELY. NEARLY REARENDED ANOTHER CAR. FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH, BUT IT CONTINUES TO HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THESE JUNK DANGEROUS TRANSMISSIONS/CLUTCHES WITH THE OLD STYLE USED ON MOST CARS WHICH ACTUALLY WORK. PLEASE GIVE THE PUBLIC SATISFACTION BY REQUIRING FORD TO COME UP WITH A REAL SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. *TR

2013 FORD FIESTA HAS 25K MILES IT STARTED TO SHUDDERING WHEN IN REVERSE AND WHEN IN DRIVE AT ABOUT BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE TAKEN IT(6 TIMES) TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THEY HAD IT THIS TIME FOR TWO DAYS AT THEIR SHOP AND RAN DIAGNOSTICS THE DEALER TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THE NEXT DAY AS I WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE AND IT STARTED TO SHUDDER VERY HARD SO MUCH THAT I HAD TO STOP AND HAD A GET OF THE CAR. WAITED FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES BEFORE I RESTARTED, I HAVE ASK FOR TO BUY OR TRADE IN THE CAR FOR ANOTHER BUT THEY REFUSE TO DO IT I REALLY AND FED UP AND ABOUT TO KICK THE CAR TO THE CURB....PLEASE HELP *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PREVIOUSLY, THE DOOR LATCH FOR THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVER SIDE FAILED AND WERE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

CAR MAKES A GRINDING NOISE AS MILEAGE INCREASE AND DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. HESITATION WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, MAKES GRINDING NOISE AND STUTTER /SHUTTERING. IT ROLLS BACKWARDS ON INCLINES AND THE TRANSMISSION JERKS WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT HAS BEEN SERVICED TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THIS NORMAL. CAR RUNS OKAY FOR 3000 MILES MOST OF THE TIME. I FEAR THAT I AM GOING TO REAR END SOMEONE AND THAT SOMEONE WILL REAR END ME . IT MAKES NOISE AS I TURN CORNERS.

THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF. REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE. THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. IT BOUNCED OF THE CAR. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER THE DOOR CLOSED. I HAVE NOT TRIED OPENING IT AGAIN AND I AM SCARED THE DOOR WILL OPEN WHILE DRIVING. *TR
AFTER THE CAR WAS STOPPED AND TURNED OFF, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN AND WOULD NOT CLOSE. THIS DOOR IS RARELY, IF EVER, USED. THE DOOR HAD TO BE TIED TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WITH A TIE-DOWN IN ORDER TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED SO THAT THE CAR COULD NOT BE STOLEN. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON SO THE BATTERY HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED, AND THEN RECONNECTED THE NEXT MORNING SO IT COULD BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES. I HAD TO PAY TO FIX THIS OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. I ALSO HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR SO I COULD GO TO WORK. I OPENED A CASE WITH FORD, REQUESTING A REFUND. MY CASE WAS ESCALATED TO A REGIONAL CUSTOMER MANAGER, WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME BY 6:00 EASTERN TIME TODAY, BUT SHE DID NOT. NOW FORD IS TELLING ME I MAY HAVE TO CALL BACK MONDAY, SO HERE THE RUNAROUND BEGINS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE RIGHT REAR DOOR OF MY VEHICLE FLEW OPEN RAPIDLY. I WAS AFRAID OF THE DOOR STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE OR INJURING MY PASSENGER AND HAD TO QUICKLY PULL OVER. IN ORDER TO PULL OVER SAFELY, THE PASSENGER WAS FORCED TO GRAB AHOLD OF THE DOOR SO THAT I COULD STEER THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC. ONCE I REACHED THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WE EXAMINED THE DOOR, AT FIRST THINKING THAT PERHAPS IT HAD BEEN IMPROPERLY SHUT. WE DISCOVERED, IN FACT, THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. THERE WAS SOME DEFECT IN THE CAR THAT CAUSED THE DOOR TO FLY OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE AS-IS BECAUSE THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH SO WE HAD TO TIE THE DOOR SHUT FROM THE INTERIOR TO DRIVE IT HOME SAFELY. THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC WAS NOT OPEN AT THAT TIME. ONCE HOME, I COULD NOT ACTIVATE THE ALARM SYSTEM SO THE CAR SAT UNLOCKED OVERNIGHT WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON. THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF BECAUSE THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP MECHANIC AS SOON AS THEY OPENED THE NEXT MORNING AND HAD TO MISS HALF A DAY OF WORK BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE. IT TOOK SEVERAL HOURS FOR THE DEALERSHIP MECHANICS TO FIX THE LATCH AND THEY REFERRED ME TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO VOICE MY COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS ABOUT A DEFECT THAT CAUSED ME TO FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY PASSENGER. I FILED A CLAIM WITH FMC. TWO WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY SAYING THAT MY CASE HAD BEEN CLOSED. FMC OFFERED ME NO EXPLANATION OF OR RESOLUTION TO THIS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
THE LATCH FOR THE REAR DOOR/HATCHBACK HAS MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH CAUSED THE REAR DOOR TO FAIL TO OPEN. UPON BRINGING TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT THE TECHNICIANS OPENED THE DOOR BUT THAT IF I OPEN IT AGAIN, IT WILL NOT SHUT. FOR TWO MONTHS, IT HAS REMAINED AS SUCH WHILE THE LATCH IS ON BACKORDER WITH NO DATE IDENTIFIED FOR PART REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THE DOOR AND WHETHER IT WILL REMAIN SHUT WHILE DRIVING. *TR
REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK OPENED BY ITSELF AFTER PARKING CAR AND ACTIVATING THE LOCK BUTTON. I PUSHED DOOR TRYING TO CLOSE MULTIPLE TIMES AND DID NOT CLOSE. I OPENED ALL DOORS, STARTED THE CAR AND KEPT TRYING TO CLOSE DOOR, DID NOT CLOSE BACK. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE REAR SEAT, VERY UNSAFE AND SCARY SITUATION. I TIED UP THE DOOR TO DRIVER'S SEAT TO GET HOME AND SEARCH ONLINE FOR HELP. SINCE THEN THE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE AT ALL. *TR
FIRST TIME: 10/10/2014 DURING THE MORNING, THE CAR WAS PUT IN MOVEMENT AND THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF AND IT DID NOT CLOSE AGAIN. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND THAT IT WAS A LATCH FAILURE, THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT. SECOND TIME: 03/26/2014 DURING THE NIGHT THE CAR WAS GETTING PARK AND THEN THE RIGHT BACK DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF AND IT DID NOT CLOSE AGAIN. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND ANOTHER LATCH FAILURE, THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
WE HAVE HAD OUR FORD FIESTA IN ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO HAVE THE DOOR LATCH REPLACED. THE DOOR FLIES OPEN WHILE DRIVING MY NEPHEW ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE CAR. HELLO - I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR DATING BACK TO MONTHS AGO WHEN I HAD IT SERVICED TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS CAR IS BECOMING A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD THE "CLUTCH" REPLACED IN THIS AUTOMATIC CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN THE CAR KEPT LUNGING FORWARD AND NOT ACCELERATING. WHEN I GOT IT BACK... I WAS TOLD TO GIVE A "GRACE" PERIOD TO BREAK IN THE CLUTCH AND THAT IT MIGHT CONTINUE TO "STUTTER". THE PAST WEEK I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN INTO THREE ACCIDENTS. THE CLUTCH/TRANS IS LUNGING SO BAD AT THIS POINT IT ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE OTHER MAIN SAFETY ISSUE WITH FORD HAVING THESE "TRANS ISSUES" ON THIS MODEL IS THE ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS AND AFTER ONLY 15000 MILES MY CAR HAS MADE A RATTLING NOISE. I NOTICED AS OF LATELY A JERKING/STALLING FEELING AS I ACCELERATE. I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2013 FORD FIESTA WITH ABOUT 43-44,000 MILES ON IT. I DROVE THE CAR OFF THE AUTHORIZED DEALER'S LOT ON YESTERDAY 8/31/2014. THE FIRST THING THAT I NOTICED WAS, AS I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR HAD TROUBLE GETTING UP TO SPEED WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. LATER ON THE SAME DAY PULLING OUT OF AN ESTABLISHMENT TO ENTER THE MAIN ROAD I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR JERKED AND ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. THEN IT LUNGED FORWARD INTO THE STREET! HAD THERE BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH ME AND MY FAMILY IN THE CAR! THE CAR HESITATES TO SHIFT GEARS CORRECTLY. THE RPM HAND REVS UP REAL HIGH ON A LIGHT PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL AND DOESN'T COME DOWN EFFICIENTLY SO THE CAR JERKS WHEN IF FINALLY "CATCHES". I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR ONE DAY! THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE DUE TO THE CHEAP PLASTIC DOOR LATCH MALFUNCTIONING. I GOT IT FIXED THE NEXT DAY. LITERALLY TWO DAYS LATER, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH BROKE AND FAILED AFTER MY FRIEND HAD ENTERED THE VEHICLE. WE DID NOT REALIZE THE DOOR LATCH FAILED UNTIL AFTER I BEGAN DRIVING. THE FIRST CORNER I TOOK, THE DOOR FLEW OPEN AND HE WAS NEARLY EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE! HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR HIS SEAT BELT HOLDING HIM IN THE CAR, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. NOT ONLY IS THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE MY DOOR OR LOCK THE VEHICLE IN ANYWAY WAY AS A RESULT - LEAVING MY CAR COMPLETELY VULNERABLE AND UNSECURED UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (WITH SOMEONE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED THE WHOLE WAY THERE) AND GET IT FIXED... IN AUGUST OF 2014, THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. DEALER FOUND THE LATCH BROKEN AND REPLACED IT. THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR WAS 7,040. IN NOVEMBER OF 2014, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. DEALER FOUND THE LATCH BROKEN AND REPLACED IT. THE MILEAGE WAS 7,494. FEBRUARY 24, 2015, THE DRIVER DOOR FAILED TO LATCH, THE CAR NOW HAS 8,300 MILES ON IT. WILL BE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AS SOON AS WE CAN GET IT THERE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IT WOULD HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING, ESPECIALLY AROUND A MOTORCYCLIST. IT COULD CAUSE CRITICAL INJURY OR DEATH. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND NEITHER THE FORD COMPANY NOR THE DEALER SEEM TO KNOW IF THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN IMPROVED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

ON AUGUST 12, 2014 HE RIGHT FRONT DOOR LATCH UNIT FAILED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED AFTER THIS. THEN 3 WEEKS LATER (SEPTEMBER 4, 2014) THE RIGHT BACK DOOR LATCH FAILED AND WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. THEN ON MARCH 5, 2015 THE LEFT BACK DOOR LATCH FAILED AND WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. ALSO NOTE IN MARCH 2014 THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO THE TRUNK LATCH. *TR
