ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIAL OR BAD DESIGN OF SEMI RIGID COOLANT HOSE ALLOWED SYSTEM TO BOIL OUT COOLANT SLOWLY AND DAMAGE ENGINE BY THE TIME ANY TEMPERATURE INDICATION, AND IF GAUGE NOT NOTICED A RIGHT TIME, COOLANT BOILS OUT LEAVING THE TEMP SENOR IN AIR, THAT DOESN'T SHOW AS OVER TEMPERATURE. EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE FOLLOWING LINK FROM FORD'S UK WEB, SAME ENGINE AND COOLANT SYSTEM: HTTPS://WWW.FORD.CO.UK/OWNER/RESOURCES-AND-SUPPORT/FAQS (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE "ECOBOOST 1.0 ENGINE ISSUES) DEALER DETERMINED ENTIRE ENGINE MUST BE REPLACED. CAN ONLY TALK TO FORD CUSTOMER CARE WHO ONLY TAKE INFO AND SEND ON. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN ONLY DO THE SAME, FORD TOLD DEALER SINCE I'M "NOT ORIGINAL OWNER" THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING. REPLACEMENT PART EXACTLY THE SAME DESIGN AND MATERIAL. MANY HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND REMEDY SHOULD NOT BE CONTINGENT ON OWNER, IT IS THE PRODUCT THAT NEEDS FIXING REGARDLESS OF WHO OWNS IT. *DL
WHEN DRIVING AND COME TO A STOP, THE CAR WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. IT DOES THIS WHEN SITTING AT A STOP OR TRYING TO TAKE OFF OR BACK UP.
THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN MY YARD AND WHEN I STARTED DRIVING THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR AND ON AGAIN WOULD GO AWAY THEN WOULD RETURN AGAIN BEING STATIONARY
THE ISSUE IN QUESTION INVOLVES THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. THERE WAS PREVIOUSLY A RECALL ISSUED FOR FORD FIESTA VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2012 AND 2014. MY VEHICLE IS A 2014 MODEL AND THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THIS RECALL WAS PUT INTO EFFECT EITHER IN 2014 OR 2015 WHEN THE ISSUE BECAME PROMINENT AND PRONOUNCED. THIS IS THE FIRST INCIDENT AND/OR ISSUE THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR JUST DECIDED NOT TO LATCH TWO DAYS AGO WHEN I ARRIVED AT WORK AFTER RETRIEVING ITEMS FROM THE BACK SEAT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING TO SEE IF IT COULD BE RECTIFIED AS WELL AS FIND OUT IF ANY ACTIVE RECALLS WERE PRESENTLY UNREPAIRED. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE ARE NO ACTIVE RECALLS FOR THE DOOR LATCH SYSTEM, HOWEVER IT IS FEASIBLE AND RECOMMENDED THAT ANOTHER RECALL BE ISSUED IN LIGHT OF MY RECENT DOOR LATCH ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HOME FROM WORK AND MY ENGINE TEMPERATURE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND LOST ALL COOLANT WITH NO APPARENT LEAKS. WE FILLED UP THE COOLANT TWICE AND WITHIN MINUTES IT HAD ALL DISAPPEARED.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. CLUTCH SHUDDER SLOW ACCELERATION FORD DEALERSHIP IN ELDORADO SERVICED IT BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST
VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDERNEATH ENGINE AREA, UNSURE WHY AS OF NOW BUT DO HAVE FIRE REPORT. BOUGHT VEHICLE SATURDAY AND BY MONDAY IT WAS ON FIRE.OIL WAS SPILLING OUT OF BOTTOM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR SUDDENLY OPENED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) OR 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
MY SON HIT SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM WHO HAD SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES, HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE AND SLAMMED DIRECTLY INTO THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. ONLY THE AIR BAG BY HIS FEET WENT OFF. NONE OF THE OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE SEATBELT ALSO DID NOT LOCK UP IMMEDIATELY. HE SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, LEFT SHOULDER INJURY, NECK PAIN, AND BRUISING TO HIS CHEST AND ABDOMEN FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. HE HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE CAR IS TOTALED AND IS IN A SALVAGE LOT ON HOLD FOR A WEEK IN CASE YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT A LOT OF PLAY IN THE WHEELS AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE VEHICLE SELF CORRECTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. IN ADDITION, THE TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, TPMS, AND MAINTENANCE WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRECISION FORD (945 N MAIN ST, LILLINGTON, NC 27546, 910-814 2243), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE AROUND AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME, WHICH WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD OF CLERMONT (1101 E HWY 50, CLERMONT, FL 34711) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL BRAKE FLUID LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A SHUDDER THAT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. AFTER THE BRAKE LINE WAS REPLACED, THE DEALER CALLED THE CONTACT AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE ENTIRE BRAKE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE DEALER CALLED THE CONTACT BACK AND ADVISED HIM THAT THE ABS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. *BF CONSUMER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER, LETTER STATED THE CONTACT MIGHT OF HIT SOMETHING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED THE BRAKELINE TO BREAK. ALTHOUGH, VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN.*JB
I HAD A RECALL I HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP IN ELDORADO ARKANSAS THEY CHARGE ME $440 AND REPLACED A COOLING FAN THAT I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR GETTING HOT. A FEW WEEKS LATER I HAD RECALL TCM AND LATER CLUTCH SHUDDER, AFTER THE LAST RECALL MY CAR STILL HAVING SLOW ACCELERATION, IT HESITATES EVEN WORSE
THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR'S LATCH STOPPED WORKING. NO DAMAGES OR ACCIDENTS WERE DONE TO MY CAR. I RARELY USE THE REAR OF MY CAR. HOWEVER, MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T SHOW A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH MY SPECIFIC CAR EVEN THOUGH THERE IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR MY SPECIFIC YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF MY CAR. ALSO, LESS THAN A WEEK LATER, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR'S LATCH BROKE IN THE EXACT SAME WAY AS THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR'S LATCH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS AND PERSONAL HARM. I WANT TO GET ALL MY LATCH'S FIXED, REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE ONE I HAD TO PAY FOR, AND AN APOLOGY FROM FORD. I CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER AND THE RESULT SHOWED "0 UNREPAIRED RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VIN". HOWEVER, THIS SPECIFIC RESPONSE DOES NOT MEAN THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CAR. IT MEANS THAT THE RECALLS THAT WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAR HAVE BEEN FIXED. HOWEVER, WHAT IF THE DOOR LATCH THEY USED TO "FIX" THE RECALL FOR IT WAS FAULTY AS WELL? HOW WOULD I BE ABLE TO CHECK WHETHER THE RECALL THAT WAS COMPLETED WAS FOR THE DOOR LATCH'S? HOW DO I GET FORD TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE ISSUE WITH MY CAR (TWO FAULTY DOOR LATCHES WITHIN A WEEK OF EACH OTHER) NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ON IT AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE? I WANT TO DISCOURAGE THE BUYING OF FORD CARS AS I HAVE HEARD OF MANY ISSUES WITH FORD CARS AND I AM NOW EXPERIENCING THEM MYSELF. I AM FILLING THIS REPORT IN HOPES TO HELP OTHERS NOT JUST MYSELF. DOOR LATCHES BREAKING CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS HARM.
MY RADIO STARTED ACTING STRANGELY ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. WHEN THE RADIO WAS ON THERE WAS IRREGULAR SQUEALING COMING FROM IT. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED, THE SQUEALING WAS ONLY WHEN THE RADIO WAS ON AND I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. LATER, THE SQUEALING ALSO STARTED TO INCLUDE LOUD POPPING NOISES, VERY MUCH LIKE AN OLD STEREO SPEAKER LOSING ITS WIRE CONNECTION. THE LOUD POPPING WAS VERY INCONSISTENT . IT THEN STARTED HAPPENING EVERY TIME I WAS IN THE CAR. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF THE RADIO WAS ON OR NOT. I EVEN TRIED TURNING DOWN THE VOLUME, WHILE THE RADIO WAS OFF. THE POPPING NOISE WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AND DISTRACTING WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE . MANY TIME BECAUSE THE POP WAS SO LOUD I WOULD JERK THE STEERING WHEEL IN ONE DIRECTION OR ANOTHER. PASSENGERS THAT RODE IN MY CAR DURING SOME OF THE INCIDENCES HAD COMMENTED ON IT HURTING THEIR EARS AND MAKING THEM JUMP OR JERK IN THEIR SEAT. THEN, ONE DAY THE POPPING WAS HAPPENING ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY AND THEN JUST STOPPED. NOW LEAVING ME WITHOUT A RADIO AND PHONE CONNECTION. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON DEFECT IN THE FORD FIESTA. THE ERRATIC LOUD POPPING IS A VERY DANGEROUS DISTRACTION WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING AND I FEEL IT IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY HAZARD.
STILL HAVE INTERMITTENT SHAKING AND THE CAR ROLLS BACK WHEN ON AN INCLINE LIKE A STANDARD. ALSO, AFTER MAKING TURNS THERE IS A HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING.
I HAVE FORD FIESTA 2014. . THE RADIO NOT WORKING. WHEN I SEARCH ON INTERNET, YOUTUBE I NOTICED THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ( FORD FIESTA OWNERS) HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD COMPANY MAY FIX IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COVERT FORD OF HUTTO (512-759-1414, LOCATED AT 1200 U S 79, HUTTO, TX 78634) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
AFTER GETTING A LETTER OFFERING A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY DID WAS DIAGNOSE IT. STILL LURCHES FORWARD AT LOWER SPEEDS AND THERE'S A LACK OF POWER IF YOU GET ON IT LIKE SEA DOO IN DEEP WATER.
THE DEALER REFUSES TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION STILL HESITATING ,LUNGING AND SLIPPING AT TAKE OFF.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,884.

SHUDDER AND DELAYED ACCELERATION
MY CAR WAS IDLING VERY ROUGH AT START, AND WAS MISFIRING SEVERELY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WERE COMING ON. THE PROBLEM WOULD SUBSIDE AFTER DRIVING FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, BUT IF THE CAR SAT AND WAS ALLOWED TO COOL FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, THE PROBLEM WOULD RETURN. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO A SERVICE CENTER AT WHICH POINT THE CAR THE CAR WOULD NOT START ANYMORE. I WENT TO START THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AND IT WOULD TURN OVER BUT NEVER FIRE AND START. AFTER INVESTIGATION THE SHOP FOUND THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD CRACKED AND MY SPARK PLUGS & CYLINDERS WERE ALL FULL OF COOLANT DUE TO A LEAK. AFTER MINIMAL RESEARCH I FOUND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE OF FORD ECOBOOST ENGINES, AND THERE WAS A NATIONWIDE RECALL IN THE UK DUE TO THIS ISSUE CAUSING CARS TO COMBUST INTO FLAMES WHILE DRIVING. HOWEVER, WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO RECALL IN EFFECT FOR THE SAME CARS IN THE UNITED STATES. MY CAR IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE THAT WILL REQUIRE A COMPLETE REBUILD, AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IF I DID NOT IMMEDIATELY TAKE IT FOR SERVICE. THE SHOP IS BUILDING A QUOTE FOR ME THAT I WILL UPLOAD ONCE AVAILABLE.
CLUTCH PEDAL WILL STAY STUCK DOWN IN MANUAL TRANSMISSION 6 SPEED. INTERMITTENT, BUT REPEATABLE (NOT EVERY TIME BUT DOESN'T SEEM TO STOP HAPPENING) PREVENTS CAR FROM MOVING FORWARD WHEN THIS HAPPENS. CLUTCH IS DISENGAGED WHILE THIS IS OCCURRING. CAN HAPPEN WHETHER SHIFTING STOPPED OR WHILE IN MOTION. LIFTING ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL BY HAND (OR FOOT) WILL REENGAGE THE CLUTCH. HAS HAPPENED WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND IN AN INTERSECTION, COULD NOT PROCEED UNDER POWER IN ANY GEAR TILL MANUALLY (AWKWARDLY) REACHING DOWN AND LIFTING PEDAL WHILE TRAFFIC APPROACHING ME.
DOOR LATCH ON BACK DRIVERS SIDE OPENED DURING MOVEMENT OF CAR ON A CITY STREET. MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER BUT WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE DOOR. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD AND THE VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 3 MILLION CARS SERVICED FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE.
RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY. BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I NOTICED MY PASSENGER REAR DOOR SWING OPEN. I STOPPED TO CLOSE IT BUT IT BOUNCED OFF THE FRAME WITH EACH ATTEMPT. WOULD NOT LATCH NO MATTER HOW HARD I PUSHED. HAD TO PUT CAR IN GARAGE BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO SECURE THE CONTENTS.
MAJOR PROBLEMS IN MY 2014 FORD FIESTA WITH THE DPS6 DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. AT TIMES YOU CANNOT GET IT TO SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOU CANNOT GET YOU CAR TO GO ABOVE 20 MPH BECAUSE IT IS STUCK IN FIRST. TACH IS HITTING 7000 RPM'S BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GET IT TO SHIFT. YOU HAVE TO KEEP SLOWING AND ACCELERATING UNTIL IT FINALLY SHIFTS. THEN THE OTHER MAJOR PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU SHIFT TO PARK IT REALLY IS NOT IN PARK. A WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH AND WARNS THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PARKED AND TAKEN THE KEY OUT. IF I AM ON A SLOPE THE CAR WILL START ROLLING. YOU HAVE TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE BECAUSE THERE IS NO RELIABLE WAY TO GET IT TO GO INTO PARK. I HAVE THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE ONGOING PROBLEMS SIMILAR TO MINE. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR TO FORD ONCE WHERE THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. WITHIN 2 MONTHS THE SAME THINGS WERE HAPPENING AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING THE TEMPERATURE WAS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL WITHOUT ANY WARNING FROM THE SENSORS. I TURNED AROUND AND WENT HOME AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW DAYS. CAR WOULD NOT START. TOWED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD AND I WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE. I HAVE READ OTHER ACCOUNTS WHERE CAR STALLED OR CAUGHT ON FIRE. THIS HAS HAD MORE ATTENTION IN THE UK AND FORD IS DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT WITHOUT ISSUING A RECALL BUT NOT DOING HERE IN THE US.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE DOOR LATCH ON THE BACK DOOR DOESN'T WORK, I SEE A RECALL FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE TYPE BUT NOT MY VIN
AUG. 11, 2019 WENT OUT TO TURN ON THE CAR AND THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. I GOT A BOOST AND THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW LIGHT CAME ON AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND THE LIGHTS STILL DIDN'T TURN OFF. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP HAD THE FUEL CHANGED STILL NOTHING. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION BEARINGS. I DO NOT HAVE THAT TYPE OF MONEY AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW I AM STILL PAYING FOR THIS VEHICLE I'VE ONLY HAD IT TWO AND A HALF YEARS.
SATURDAT JULY 30, 2019MY VEHICLE OVERHEATED.VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR COOLING MAINTENANCE. RADIATOR THERMOSTAT AND COOLING RESERVOIR WAS CHECKED. I WAS ADVISED TO MONITOR THE COOLANT LEVEL. ON AIGUST 10, 2019 WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE DISPLAYED "OVERHEATING". I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE HOOD. WHEN I OPEN THE HOOD THE COOLANT WAS BOILING. I WAITED 20 MINS FOR THE BOILING TO SUBSIDE. I SLOWLY REMOVED THE CAP AND THE COOLANT LEVEL STARTED TO RISE WHICH WAS THE SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE.

WHILE I AM DRIVING AROUND W/ THE SERVICE MANAGER SO HE CAN FEEL HOW TERRIBLE THE CAR RUNS, HE ADMITS TO ME THE CAR IS A BUNCH OF JUNK AND I NEED TO START READING UP ON IT. NOW THE FIESTA IS IN THE SHOP OFTEN AND MR. SNEAD AND I ARE NOT VERY FRIENDLY.I HAVE ALL THE SERVICE RECORDS, BUT I HAVE TO WRITE IN THE CAR IS RUNNING RAGGFED AS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL NOT PUT IT IN THE REPORT. I WANT MR. ON JULY 23 2019, I NOTICED MY CAR DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT IN ONE YEAR. FORD IS PUTTING MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER. LAST YEAR, IT WAS THE LEFT REAR DOOR, MORE RECENTLY IT WAS THE DRIVER'S DOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DONLEY FORD-LINCOLN OF ASHLAND (1641 CLAREMONT AVE, ASHLAND, OH 44805, (419) 281-3673) AND THEY REPAIRED THE HOSE THAT WAS LEAKING THE COOLANT. FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL OVER FROM THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND A CRACK IN THE ENGINE THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO INSTALL A NEW ENGINE AND THE REPAIR COST WAS QUOTED AT $5,000. THE VEHICLE'S EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 100,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
WENT OUT TO THE CAR LAST NIGHT 17 JULY 2019 AND TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT JUST CHIMED AND ALL THE LIGHTS BLINKED ON AND OFF. WENT OUT IN THE MORNING 17 JULY 2019 @0630 TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE CAR MADE LOUD CLICKING SOUNDS AROUND THE TRANSMISSION AREA. ALSO THERE IS A MESSAGE IN THE CLUSTER CENTER THAT READS "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW"
TAKATA RECALL MY A/C STARTED TO FAIL WITH NO WARNING. AFTER PUTTING MY CAR IN PARK, SMOKE STARTED TO RISE FROM THE ROOF AND A DARK COLOR LIQUID (PERHAPS OIL) STARTED TO LEAK FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, AND THEY CONCLUDED THE COOLANT WAS LOW AND IT MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE, CAUSING IT TO SMOKE. THIS INITIAL CONCLUSION FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAN LED TO THEM CLAIMING; THE TUBES HAD A HOLE, THE FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE BELT WAS HEAT DAMAGED. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN CASH FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP AS USED, BUT A "FORD CERTIFIED" CAR; MEANING IT WENT THROUGH A RIGOROUS 172 POINT INSPECTION WHERE THEY EXAMINE THE CARS COOLANT, ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, BREAKS, ETC. HOWEVER, THIS IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH BECAUSE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY FORD CERTIFIED VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION BLEW OUT AND FORD HAD TO REPLACE/FIX IT FOR FREE. I'VE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF, AND I'VE ALREADY HAVE HAD TWO MAJOR CAR PROBLEMS! I REQUESTED FOR A BUYBACK AND FORD SAYS THEY AREN'T ABLE TO DO SO. I AM FRUSTRATED THAT I PAID FOR THIS FORD CERTIFIED VEHICLE IN CASH, JUST TO BE DUPED. MY MAKE AND MODEL HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HAVE BOTH COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, I BELIEVE MY CAR HAS BOTH THESE ISSUES. IN CONCLUSION, I HAVE BEEN SOLD A VEHICLE THAT IS FALSELY ADVERTISED AND A DANGER ON THE ROAD, WITH LITTLE TO NO HELP FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP.
WHILE PARKED TO FUEL MY CAR, I OPENED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR. UPON CLOSING THE DOOR IT WOULD CLOSE BUT IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I HAD TO SECURE THE DOOR CLOSED WITH THE REAR SEATBELT TO MAKE IT HOME WITHOUT THE DOOR OPENING WHILE I WAS DRIVING.

WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ABOUT 40-50 MPH, ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ACTIVATES, VEHICLE PULLED OVER TO AUTO SHOP. MECHANIC MENTIONED SAME ISSUE WITH SAME MODEL AND YEAR FORD FIESTAS HAVING SAME ISSUE OF OVERHEATING CAUSING DAMAGE TO ENGINE PISTONS. RECALL COVERED MODEL ST NOT THIS MODEL OF SE FOR SAME ISSUE ON SAME ENGINE.
TRANSMISSION IS 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC, CONSTANTLY SHUDDERS, FAILS TO ENGAGE, DISENGAGES WHILE DRIVING. HAS BEEN "REPAIRED" NUMEROUS TIMES AND ACTS UP WITHING A FEW THOUSAND MILES AGAIN. WHEN TRYING TO BACK UP, AS IN PARKING DOWNTOWN, REVERSE FAILS TO ENGAGE OR POPS OUT OF REVERSE LEAVING ME IN TRAFFIC. CAR IS NO LONGER RELIABLE AND IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ANYWHERE DUE TO THIS TRANSMISSION.
2014 FORD FIESTA 47,000 MILES NOW NOT ONLY HAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BUT SUDDENLY A LEAKING WATER PUMP. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL CAR SITES, THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THE WATER PUMP LEAK. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE FROM THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT TOO BAD, I'M OUT OF LUCK AND WILL HAVE TO PAY $724 OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. THIS CAR HAS HAD TOO MANY RECALLS AND IT WAS BARELY DRIVEN TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO PAY UP AND MAKE BETTER CARS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. FORD DEALER COULDN'T DECODE THE PROBLEM. THEY ASK THAT THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED.

ALSO, WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY JERKED AND GRADUALLY ACCELERATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT REFRAINED FROM DRIVING HIGHWAYS SPEEDS OUT OF CONCERN THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION AND CRASH. WYATT JOHNSON FORD (646 THOMPSON LANE, NASHVILLE, TN 37204, 615-244-3615) WAS CONTACTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE WHATSOEVER. WHEN DRIVING, TAKING LEFT TURNS THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN, HAS TO BE HELD DOWN TO PREVENT IT. THE DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCHES ON THESE VEHICLES CAN PREVENT THE DOOR FROM PROPERLY CLOSING. THIS CAN RESULT IN THE DOOR OPENING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. MANY CUSTOMERS INDICATED THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH AT ALL SO THEY DECIDED TO RESTRAIN THE DOOR BY OTHER MEANS (LOOPING THE SEATBELT THROUGH THE DOOR, OR USING ROPE OR TAPE) IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. SOME CUSTOMERS ALSO REPORTED MULTIPLE DOOR LATCH FAILURES OCCURRING ON THE SAME VEHICLE ON DIFFERENT DOORS OCCURRING MONTHS APART. MY 2014 FORD FIESTA MANUFACTURED ON APRIL 2014 IS NOT COVERED BY RECALL 15S16, PARTS AND LABORED NOT GETTING COVERED BY FORD. SEEMS LIKE NOT ALL CARS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THE RECALL NOTICE STATES SO.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. MY 3 YEAR OLD SITS ON THAT SIDE. GOD KNOWS WHAT WOULD'VE HAPPENED HAD WE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY

TCM IT HAS A SLOW ACCELERATION IT TAKES LONGER THAN NORMAL FOR IT TO PICK UP SPEED AND THE CAYATIC CONVERTER
THE LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH BROKE WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. THIS HAPPENED IN OUR DRIVEWAY AS WE WERE PREPARING TO LEAVE ON A TRIP. IF THIS LATCH HAD BROKEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THIS OR OTHER VEHICLES AND POSSIBLE INJURY OR DEATH TO OCCUPANTS OR BYSTANDERS. FORD RECALLED NEARLY 390,000 2012-2014 FIESTA, FOCUS AND LINCOLN MODELS FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED AT THE PLANT IN MEXICO. APPARENTLY THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED MORE SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS EXEMPTED FROM THAT RECALL, BUT OBVIOUSLY HAS THE SAME DEFECT. I AM NOW FORCED TO PAY $300 TO REPAIR A VEHICLE WHICH FORD SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WAS DEFECTIVE. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED AT FORD'S EXPENSE, NOT THE CUSTOMER'S. THE RECALL NOTICE WAS 15F16 REGARDING THIS PROBLEM.
