The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at vehicle speeds, the transmission would shutter upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but the dealer failed to diagnose the failure. As the failure worsened, the vehicle would not accelerate above 20 MPH and would not operate while in reverse(R). The contact also stated the transmission warning light had appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and this time the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective TCM(Transmission Control Module). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF THE FIRST GEAR UPON INITIAL TAKE OFF/ACCELERATION RENDERING VEHICLE MOTIONLESS, SOMETIMES TWICE IN A ROW - CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN VEHICLE MOVED ACROSS TRAFFIC LINES WITH OTHER VEHICLES APPROACHING FROM THE SIDE.
THE CAR SHUTTERS WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS AND IT SOMETIMES ACTS AS IF IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY POWER. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO FORD AND THEY KEEP RESET THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE BUT THEN IT GOES RIGHT BACK TO SHUTTERING AND NOT PICKING UP SPEED AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING, SPEAKERS START TO CRACKLE LOUDLY. ITS ACTUALLY STARTLING. THEN THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE MEINEKE CAR CENTER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,912.
MY 2014 FORD FIESTA, WHICH I BOUGHT USED, WAS STATIONARY, I OPENED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE IT THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY DUE TO THE LATCH. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER IT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN A PLACE THEY CLAIM WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE PROBLEM THEY WERE RECALLING OTHER CARS FOR.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING THE SUMMER IN HOUSTON MY A/C COMPRESSOR FAILED AND PRODUCED A DISTURBING ODOR WITHIN THE CAR. IT INHERENTLY HAS CAUSED DRIVING DURING THE SUMMER TO BECOME VERY TAXING DUE TO THE HEAT EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BECOME DIZZY DUE TO THE HEAT. A FEW DAYS LATER I HAD 2 BLEND MOTORS ALSO FAIL WITH THE A/C SYSTEM THAT NOW CAUSE INTERMITTENT AND LOUD CLICKING NOISES THAT CAN BE DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING.
MY 2014 FORD FIESTA SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING ON THE INTERSTATE 4 DURING RUSH HOUR (APPROXIMATELY 5PM ON MAY 12 2017). THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IT STALLED RANDOMLY. I RESTARTED AND IT WOULD NOT RUN. AFTER TOWING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DETERMINED IT WAS DUE TO A FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTION. IT WAS MENTIONED HOW UNUSUAL IT IS FOR THIS TO OCCUR ON A CAR WITH RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE THE CAR BROKE DOWN. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. NO STRANGE NOISES. IT JUST STOPPED. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. AFTER BEING INFORMED WHAT THE ISSUE WAS, I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR FORD FIESTAS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN APRIL 30 2014 TO MAY 21 2014 (RECALL # 14S30) FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE: FUEL PUMP FAILURE. THE RECALL NOTICE STATES THAT IF THE FUEL PUMP FAILS, THE VEHICLE MAY STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. WHEN CONTACTING FORD REGARDING THIS ISSUE ON 5/24/2017, WE WERE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE SINCE OUR CAR WAS MANUFACTURED JUST PRIOR TO THE RECALL DATE. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS IN THE RECALL. IT SHOULD BE NOTED BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING TO OTHERS, NOT DISMISSED. AGAIN, THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS MY CAR WAS RUNNING AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED. I WAS LUCKY THAT THE TRAFFIC WAS SLOW. I ALSO BELIEVE I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR MY REPAIR THAT WAS DONE AT THE AUTONATION FORD IN SANFORD, FL AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. I HAVE KEPT UP ALL MAINTENANCE ON MY CAR AND THE FUEL PUMP FAILED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE PART.
INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON IN DRY AND MILD CONDITIONS. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND WHILE IT IS STOPPED, ALL IN CITY TRAFFIC. THIS WILL OFTEN LEAD TO A WARNING SAYING "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" AND, OCCASIONALLY, THE POWER STEERING WILL STOP WORKING. ON THE THREE OCCASIONS THE POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED WORKING IN THE PAST 5 WEEKS, ONCE WAS WHILE MOVING STRAIGHT AND TWICE WERE WHILE TURNING, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO COMPLETE THE TURN. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ISSUE 4 TIMES NOW. THE FIRST 2 TRIPS, THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE LAST 2 HAVE BEEN AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE FIRST 2 TRIPS WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE RECREATED AND THEREFORE COULD NOT BE FIXED. ON THE THIRD TRIP THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO SEE THE LIGHT AND PULL A CODE. THEY REPLACED THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE AND REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER, BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN THE NEXT MORNING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. BILL BROWN FORD IN LIVONIA, MICHIGAN WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ABRUPTLY FAILED TO LATCH AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING IT. THE LATCH WAS EXAMINED AND EXTERNALLY APPEARS THE SAME AS ON THE OTHER DOORS. MANUALLY MOVING THE LATCHING MECHANISM SHOWS IT FAILS TO LATCH EVEN UPON LOCKING THE CAR DOORS.

THE CONTACT'S LEFT MIDDLE FINGER CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A DEEP LACERATION. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED AND THE CONTACT WENT TO HIS DOCTOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE METAL AND PLASTIC COMPONENTS IN THE LATCH HAD SEPARATED, LEAVING A SHARP EDGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY HEARD OF THIS ISSUE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000. WENT TO STOP HIT THE BRAKE PEDDLE AND THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN, I PUMPED THE BRAKES THEN HIT THEM AGAIN STILL THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN, I IMPACTED THE REAR OF A TRUCK, A FIRE STARTED UNDER HOOD IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AT THE WINDSHIELD AREA, THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY NOR DID THE SEAT BELT LOCK, CAUSING ME TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY CHEST. CAR WAS TRAVELING APROX. 35 MPH.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT AND LATCH PROPERLY AFTER BEING OPENED. I HAD TO DRIVE SEVEN MILES WITH THE DOOR JERRY RIGGED SHUT WITH ROPE. THE DOOR WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT FAILED TO LATCH CLOSED. *JS THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH WAS BROKEN. THE DOOR WOULD NOT REMAIN SHUT AND LOCKED. *JS *JS

I HAVE THREE OR MORE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE WENT A COUPLE YEARS AGO TO HAVE THEM REPAIRED I WAS TOLD I HAD PAID 120 JUST FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THE CAR SO I DIDN'T HAVE THEM REPAIRED I WENT TO YOUR SYSTEM AND SAW THAT IT WAS REPORTED THAT ALL MY RECALLS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND THAT'S A FALSE STATEMENT NONE OF MY RECALLS HAVE BEEN REPAIRMAN ON LASHES HAVE FALLEN OFF MY INSIDE WITH MY GAUGES IT IS COMING APART MY PHONE AREAS DON'T WORK ANYMORE MY AXLE OR STUDS IN THINGS HAVE BEEN MESSED UP THAT MESSED UP MY LIGHTS IN THE INSIDE OF THE CAR KEEPS FLICKERING.NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON IT WON'T GO OFF THE CAR HAS 214,000+ MILES ON IT AND I DON'T WANT TO BREAK APART I JUST PAID IT OFF.I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE SERPENTINE BELT TWICE THE RUBBER AROUND THE INSULATION OF THE DOORS IS COMING OFF THE AREAS WHERE YOU CAN SEE YOUR RADIO IN SPEEDOMETER AND FOGGED UP. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I COULDN'T GET THE EGGS AND RADIO FREE FOR SIX MONTHS I HAVE THE SENSOR BUT THEY SAID THEY CAN ACTIVATE IT IN A STANDARD MODEL THE TIRE EXPLODED THREE WEEKS AFTER HAVING THE CAR I REPORTED THE RUBBING SOUND WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THAT'S WHAT NEW CARS SOUND LIKE AND THEN WANTS TO TIRE EXPLODED THE FORD DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO SEND IT TO THE CORPORATION THEY CLAIM THEY SAID IT WAS ROUTE HAS IT BUT I DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING.THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPAIRED AFTER SIX MONTHS AND NOW IS ACTING UP AGAIN.

WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE MY CAR SHUDDERS. WHEN I GO FROM THE BRAKES AND TRY THE GAS PEDAL MY CAR JERKS AND HAS ISSUES ACCELERATING. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM ALL THEY DO IS REPROGRAM. IT IS GOOD FOR 2-3 DAYS THEN GOES BACK TO JERKING AND SHUDDERING. THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR MOST WHEN I'M PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAYS AND PARTYING LOTS FROM A STOPPED POSITION TRYING TO INCREASE SPEED. I HAVE HAD A FEW CLOSE CALLS BECAUSE MY CAR HAS PROBLEMS SPEEDING UP WHEN I'M ON THE EXPRESSWAY TOO. I GOT THE CAR USED AT 20000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NOVEMBER 2016 TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL FOR MY CAR TO HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. AFTER SEVERAL VISITS THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED. *TT
YESTERDAY THE DOOR LATCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED, RESULTING IN THE DOOR BEING UNABLE TO REMAIN CLOSED. THANKFULLY THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THIS IS A COMMONLY REPORTED PROBLEM ON FORD FIESTAS, BUT WHEN I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR THEY SAID THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXISTING RECALL, AND AS SUCH I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. MY FEAR IS THAT GIVEN THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FORD FIESTAS, THE DOOR LATCH ON MY OTHER DOORS WILL FAIL, AND NEXT TIME I MIGHT NOT BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE, AND THERE IS THE SIGNIFICANT POTENTIAL OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
BOUGHT FROM CAR MAX 2015, 2016 FEBRUARY EXTREME SHUDDERING FROM TRANSMISSION FORD FIXED FOR FREE NEW CLUTCH PLATE. 2017 FEBRUARY WOULD NOT START,CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON DRIVER, TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION -- FIX NOW. THAT'S WHAT IT SAID ON THE WARNING LIGHTS PLUS THE WRENCH. DEALER TOWED CAR. TECHNICIAN STATED WHILE DRIVING IT DIED TWICE JERKED VIOLENTLY UPON ACCELERATION FROM STOP.NORTH CENTRAL FORD DALLAS TEXAS WHEN WE CALLED THEM INITIALLY WAS TOLD THIS MODEL IT WOULD KEEP HAPPENING BECAUSE TRANSMISSION DESIGN WAS FAULTY. THEY SAID COULD NOT COMPLETE TEST DRIVE BECAUSE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON FUEL,? THEY TOP OFF CARS ALL OF THE TIME AND DID NOT COMPLETE TEST DRIVE.?
FRONT PASS.DOOR LATCH THAT KEEPS DOOR CLOSED BROKE WHILE IT WAS STATIONARY.THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL EXCEPT MONTH MINE WAS BUILT.MINE WAS BUILT IN 6/2013 AND RECALL EFFECTS MODEL THRU 05/2013.MY CONCERN IS I'VE READ THESE DOORS CAN COME OPEN WHILE IN MOTION.I HAVE KIDS IN MY CAR ALL THE TIME
SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW OFF LOT IN 2014, I HAD MINOR ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION. NOW MY WARRANTY IS LONG EXPIRED AND THE ISSUES ARE WORSE. I'VE TAKEN IT INTO GARAGES MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MOST SAYING IT'S NORMAL, THE CAR HAS TO GET USED TO YOUR DRIVING, AND ALSO SOME SAYING THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM. IT ACTS UP EVERYONE IT'S DRIVEN NOW EVEN AFTER ONE OF THE SERVICE BULLITENS FOR THE TCM. CONSTANTLY SHUTTERS JERKS GRINDS AND BUMPS HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING GOING UP HILLS AND FROM A STOP IT'S WORSE IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC
UPON PARKING THE VEHICLE AND OPENING THE DOOR USING THE OUTSIDE HANDLE, THE DOOR LATCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED. THE DOOR WOULD NO LONGER REMAIN CLOSED. I NEEDED TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILE DRIVING TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, AS IT WANTED TO SWING OPEN (ESPECIALLY DURING LEFT TURNS).
I PURCHASED A FORD FIESTA VEHICLE IN 2014.WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY STALLED AND SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY LIKE A KILL SWITCH HAS BEEN TURNED OFF DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN 1 YEAR FROM PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. THEN A SIMILAR SITUATION OCCURRED IN 2015. AND NOW AGAIN, IN 2017 THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP/SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY STALLS AND SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY LIKE A KILL SWITCH HAS BEEN TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. I AM TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE DANGER MY LIFE WAS PUT IN WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THIS WAS A VERY PRICEY INVESTMENT THAT I DID NOT EXPECT TO OR SHOULD BE EXPERIENCING REGARDING SEVERAL LIFE THREATENING ISSUES AND DEFECTS WITH THE FORD FIESTA. ESPECIALLY IN SUCH SHORT PERIOD OF OWNERSHIP. THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND NOT SOLD TO PEOPLE UNTIL THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY FIXED. *TR
CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE LIGHTS AND ALL WARNING BUZZERS STARTED TO FLASH THEN THE CAR LOCKED UP AND I WAS STUCK IN THE CAR AND COULDN'T GET OUT. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD TO JIMMY STICK THE DOOR TO GET ME OUT, THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE TCM TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS AT FAULT, AND WAS REPLACED, THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE AFTER THIS REPAIR. FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS UNDER FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE A SERIOUS ISSUE EXISTS. I KEEP BRINGING THE CAR TO DEALERSHIPS AND FORD WON'T AUTHORIZE NEEDED REPAIRS. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THIS LAST ISSUE.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF MY 2014 FORD FIESTA S HATCHBACK. THE VEHICLE HAS A 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND 33350 MILES +/- ON IT. I HAVE TWO ISSUES WITH THE CAR: 1) THE SECOND AND REVERSE GEARS (ONLY) HAVE "POPPED" OUT NUMEROUS TIMES UNDER TORQUE. THIS OCCURS ONLY WHEN DECELERATING, ACCELERATING, AND OCCASIONALLY WHILE REVERSING SLOWLY OUT OF THE GARAGE ETC. THE LATEST EVENT WAS DECEMBER 29, 2016 TRAVELLING DOWN A SHORT ROAD. THE SECOND GEAR POPPED OUT AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE TOWARD THE EMBANKMENT. EACH EVENT SURPRISES AND FRIGHTENS ME UNTIL I REALIZE WHAT HAS OCCURRED AND RESPOND ACCORDINGLY. 2) THE SECOND ISSUE IS SOMETHING IS PRODUCING A CLUNKING IN THE LR PILLAR (BETWEEN THE LR PASSENGER DOOR AND THE HATCHBACK). OR SO I IMAGINE. IT SOUNDS LIKE A HATCH STRUT IS HANGING LOOSE FROM THE TOP CONNECTION AND SWINGING AROUND INSIDE THE HOLLOW OF THE PILLAR. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, SLIPS GEAR AS YOU ACCELERATE FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR FROM A STOP, BETWEEN 10-20 MPH. DEALER STATES THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT 32,212 MILES.
I am remembering one incident I had years ago. It was my first year since I got my first driver license. I parked my car. While I was getting off with half of my body already outside the car, my car started moving forward. I jumped back in a car in a shock and tried to stop the car. I realized that I had not removed my car key. I also realized that a stick shift was in neutral position. I told myself that it was my wrong-doing, but after reading numerous complaints and lawsuits against Ford Fiesta over the last years, I am not so sure if it was my fault or the car's defect. It happened only once and can not reproduce this. Around the same time, I have also experienced car not starting several times but again I told myself I am just an idiot for not knowing how to start a car. I did Pre-Purchase Car Inspection in October 2016. The inspection report noted that my car had Engine Lights on with code U0131 and codeC0051. I received a CSP14M02 letter last Sunday and went to the dealership on Monday for TCM repair or replacement, but I was turned away.
ON 10/26/16, WE (4 OF US) FINISHED SHOPPING AND GOT BACK INTO MY PARKED CAR MY DAUGHTER EXCLAIMED THAT THE REAR DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT WOULD NOT CLOSE. WE TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO SHUT IT, EVEN PEERED INTO THE LATCH AREA, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING LIKE THE OTHER DOORS. IT WAS AROUND 5:30 P.M. WE HAD NOTHING TO SECURE THE DOOR, SO WE MOVED MY GRANDSON'S CAR SEAT TO THE MIDDLE AND I SAT IN THE BACK SEAT AND HELD THE DOOR WHILE MY DAUGHTER DROVE US HOME SLOWLY. THE NEXT MORNING I USED A ROPE TO HOLD THE DOOR WHILE I DROVE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIXED THE LATCH FOR $344.40. I USED MY CAR PAYMENT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL LIST. IF THIS HAPPENS TO ALL MY OTHER DOORS, IT WILL ADD UP 1377.76. I HAVE A COPY OF THE REPAIR RECEIPT. I CAN SCAN FOR YOU IF NEEDED.
